Eagleheart / Warrior / Journey to Barn Eagleheart reared in surprise at the sudden appearance of the cat, but quickly settled as a familiar scent hit his nose. "Vixen!" He meowed, his mew bright with surprise, laced with guilt that Puddlepaw had been the one to encounter her. As the leader of the group, he should have been in the front to deal with any dangers. He made a mental note to be in the front in the future. Now that the initial surprise left him, he padded forward. "It's good to see you." He meowed cordially, though his voice was still thick with dull grief. Vixen had been a friend to BlazeClan for a long time, and their patrols often shared information with her. Her intel had often allowed them to get the jump on a fox or badger who were trying to settle into the territory. In return, unfriendly rogues or kittypets would know that Vixen had the backing of fierce fighting cats, and should be left alone. "Yes, unfortunately, the fire took everything." He sighed. This is all that's left of BlazeClan. He couldn't bring himself to say it out loud. Not yet. That would mean accepting it. His gaze was surprised at her offer to help, and then melted into gratitude. They were in no position to refuse. "Thank you." He meowed simply, before forging again, Rimekit still in his jaws. He couldn't really bring himself to talk to anyone just yet.
______________________________________________________________________________________________
Dawnpaw / Apprentice / Journey to Barn Dawnpaw looked up curiously at the newcomer. She had never encountered Vixen face to face, but she had heard stories of the loner who occasionally interacted with the Clan. It had never really been business for apprentices, so she had never been involved. Puddlepaw seemed to recognize her, but Dawnpaw chalked it up to Snailwhisker introducing them during medicine cat trips. She watched as Vixen walked among them, but curiosity quickly became anger as Vixen licked her, and she flinched away. You're not my mother! You're not even a Clan cat! She knew she had no reason to be angry, but the bitterness and frustration of what they had just lost was still welling inside her like a pool. Who is she to come here and act like she's one of us? That she knows how I'm feeling? Eyes burning with resentment, she stalked ahead to join Eagleheart, eyes firmly ahead.

[Puddlepaw] [Medicine Cat Apprentice]-[Journey to barn]
Giving a purr of greeting to Moonseeker as she helped him back to his paws, the apprentice couldn't help but get lost in the loner's soft and sweet scent for a moment. It was so refreshing and warm compared to the scent of wet ash and fire. Once again his mind wondered to his mother, who had been crushed by a falling tree. And his brother, who must have suffocated from smoke while trapped in his den with the others. He glanced up with wide eyes as he followed Dawnpaw to where she stormed to the head of the group with Eagleheart. With a tiny twitch of his tail, the silver, black and white tom hurried after the other apprentice. He slowed down as he reached her side and let his fur brush against hers. With a soft and quiet whisper, he spoke to Dawnpaw. "I know it's hard, Dawnpaw. We've all lost someone and something today. But I promise you, Vixen is good. She has been a friend to this clan for seasons. I've never heard a bad thing about her."
[Moonseeker] [Warrior]--[Journey to barn]
Realizing who the stranger was, the second she heard the loners voice, Moonseeker relaxed. The white and silver/black tinged warrior let out a sigh of relief to have another cat, a stronger cat, accompany them to the barn. She watched as the orange and gray molly greeted each cat individually flattening her ears slightly in a silent apology for Dawnpaw storming off without a work. She couldn't help but let out a happy breath when Vixen took Fawnkit from her. Keeping close, she sniffed the small kit every few paces. Numbness dragged at the warriors paws as she padded step for step with Vixen. Their fur brushed slightly as they padded on, following after Puddlepaw, Eagleheart and Dawnpaw. Silence came from the two molly's as she padded with heads down.
[Vixen] [Loner]--[Journey to barn]
Vixen blinked warmly as Eagleheart spoke to her before giving herself a quick shake as Dawnpaw stormed ahead of her. She let out a soft sigh before turning to Moonseeker and gently leaning forwards to take Fawnkit from her. She could see the exhaustion rolling off the group of cats as it was, without them needing to carry newborn kits along. A purr rumbled in her throat as Moonseeker seemed to accept her help and handed the tiny ginger and golden spotted molly. She then gave the warrior a respectful dip before walking beside the younger cat, their fur brushing in case Moonseeker wanted a shoulder to lean on. The two walked side by side, following after the rest of the group. The orange and gray molly kept herself quite, letting the group speak among themselves, or leaving them to their own thoughts.
(I don't know if in your next post, you want to skip to them reaching the barn or not.? Up to you!)

Dawnpaw / Apprentice / Journey to barn "I'll decide who's good and who's bad for me." Dawnpaw grumbled, but her bristling fur quieted at Puddlepaw's touch. She didn't mean to be short. The she-cat was normally very sweet and good-natured, but the fire seemed to have deeply affected her emotionally. It would be a while before she was back to the usual Dawnpaw. Despite herself, she casted a guilty glance back at the ginger loner. She would apologize. Eventually. One day.
_____________________________________________________________________________________________
Eagleheart / Warrior / Journey to barn Eagleheart blinked as he watched Vixen weave among his shell-shocked clanmates, doing her best to soothe them. Just her presence seemed to uplift the defeated cats slightly. He had often wondered how things would have been different if she had been a LeafClan warrior. His thoughts flashed back to Morningstrike, and his kits. "I'm glad you're here." He murmured quietly, ducking his head as he padded forward. He was glad for the rain that kept his fur down. He didn't want any cat to see the look in his eyes.
/////////THE BARN/////////
Eagleheart / Warrior / Barn Eagleheart let out a soft sigh of relief as he finally saw the large twoleg structure before them, and he sent a thanks to StarClan - and all his clanmates who had recently join them - that the barn was so close to their territory. The journey was tough on all of them, but had had an even more tiring effect on Eagleheart than he had thought. He wondered with a pang of shock why he felt so weak, but it was overshadowed by the relief that the two kits would finally get some warmth and shelter. Then, his hackles rose as he scented strange cat scent.
____________________________________________________________________________________________
Lion / Loner / Barn "Who's there? Announce yourself!" The massive golden tom challenged them, fur bristling as he let out a low growl. He didn't recognize these cats. He squared his shoulders, placing himself stoutly between the strange cats and the barn entrance. As he looked among them, he recognized Vixen, who often visited the barn. "Vixen! Why have you brought these strangers here?" He asked angrily. You know my family is vulnerable! There are kits here!

[Puddlepaw] [Medicine Cat Apprentice]-[The Barn]
Puddlepaw flinched back against Dawnpaw at the size of Golden tom that addressed the group. He kept his eyes locked on the tom, fur rising slightly on his shoulders. He tried to calm himself as Vixen addressed the tom, only to flatten his ears slightly as another cat, this one a molly, appeared from the barn. He watched silently as Moonseeker slipped into the barn after the orange and black molly before glancing at Dawnpaw and then Eagleheart. He more of was waiting for Eagleheart's permission before her followed his clanmate into the barn. His paws ached and his eyes burned from lack of sleep. His stomach rumbled as the scent of mice drifted from the barn.
[Moonseeker] [Warrior]--[The Barn]
Moonseeker, who had been walking beside Vixen with her head down and eyes closed, guided just by the loners tail that was wrapped around her neck, stopped short and flashed open her eyes at the sound of a strangers growl. She looked up with wide violet eyes at the large tom that stood before her. She suddenly felt scrawny beneath the toms ice- blue eyes. Without a chance to even think, she was taking Fawnkit back from Vixen as the orange and grey molly greeted the stranger. They knew each other, thank Starclan. She held her breath as a second cat stepped from the barn, this one a molly. Relief filled her as the molly told them to bring the kits inside. She glanced at the large tom, Lion, as they had called him, before quickly padding into the barn first. She blinked in the faint light of the barn, ears pricked at the warmth that flowed around her and the scent of mice that filled her senses. She slowly slipped up to the motherly barn cat and gently sent Fawnkit beside the two kits that already rested at the molly's belly. "Thank you.."
[Vixen][Pumpkin] [Loner]--[The Barn]
The orange and grey molly gently handed Moonseeker back the still Fawnkit before weaving between the clan cats. She slipped past Eagleheart and touched noses with Lion before weaving around the golden and white tom. She purred a slight greeting before pointing her long and bushy tail towards the two kits that dangled from the warriors mouths. "They have kits, Lion.." The loner paused before squinting past her friend and into the barn. She tried to see her sister, but couldn't catch a glimpse of her in the darkness that surrounded them. "These cats are clan cats, Lion. They were from a clan called Blazeclan. There was a nasty fire during this storm. They are all that is left. They need rest and shelter and food. They all suffer from burns. None of them have slept or ate. And..Well, Pumpkin has milk..And these kits are newborns. Their parents are dead..And they will be if Pumpkin won't feed them." Even as she explained herself to the tom, Vixen knew her sister wouldn't deny the clan cats, or the kits. Her sister had a gentle soul.
"Let them in, Love." A voice softer than a feather sounded from the shelter of the barn. Yellow eyes flashed in the darkness as they gazed curiously at the group of scruffily and injured clan cats. A moment later, a beautiful and slightly thicker black and orange tortoiseshell slipped out of the barn. She had white flecks in the mane of fur around her neck and shoulders. And her ears were tipped in black. Her gaze found the two kits that didn't make a sound as they hung from the mouths of Eagleheart and Moonseeker. "Come. Bring those kits inside. I will feed them and warm them up." She turned and slipped back into the barn, flicking her tail for the group to follow. She immediately went and curled up back in a cozy nest of feathers and hay, wrapping around two kits.

Lion / Loner / Barn Lion relaxed slightly at the mention of BlazeClan. He knew of the cats who lived in the forest beyond his home. They weren't particularly unfriendly, and generally kept to themselves. His ear twitched and he stiffened at the mention of a fire, as a memory of a silver tabby she-cat, looking at him with eyes full of affection and love, briefly flashed in his mind. "I see. I saw the fire." He mewed gruffly. His gaze finally softened as it rested on the unmoving kits. As tough as he portrayed himself to protect his own family, he wouldn't turn away kits in need. He was just about to turn to call his mate when Pumpkin appeared herself. He knew she wouldn't turn them away either. Finally, he dipped his head here. "Very well. You're welcome here." He mewed, stepping aside to allow the cats passage. His gaze passed over each cat as they entered the barn, and it briefly flashed curiously as he looked at Puddlepaw.
______________________________________________________________________________________________
Eagleheart / Warrior / Barn Eagleheart's neck fur had been bristling during the exchange, as he looked tersely between Vixen and Lion, but he finally relaxed as it seemed that the tom wasn't hostile. "Thank you." He mewed, dipping his head. As a father himself, he knew how difficult it was to allow other cats near his kits, even when he knew them well. Then, he caught himself.
Former father.
He couldn't think about it. Not now. It would overwhelm him. Instead, he padded into the warm barn, letting out a soft huff of relief as he padded to the nest, carefully depositing the still Rimekit beside the two loner kits, who were curled up, fast asleep. "They fed a little before the...before it happened." He told Pumpkin. "I don't think it was enough."
____________________________________________________________________________________________
Dawnpaw & Lion / Apprentice & Loner / Barn Dawnpaw couldn't help but feel relieved despite herself as she padded into the warm barn. It was cozy, and there was a sleepy scent in the air from the hay and the dozing kits. She could also scent plentiful mice, and her stomach grumbled alongside Puddlepaw. "Can we hunt?" She asked curiously.
"Feel free." Lion mewed, walking up behind them. As the cats made themselves comfortable, he had nudged the large door closed. "There's more than enough for every cat. You all look like you could use a good meal." His blue gaze glowed with sympathy as he padded back to the soft hay, curling up around his mate.

[Puddlepaw] [Medicine Cat Apprentice]-[The Barn]
Slinking into the barn after his clanmates, Puddlepaw couldn't help but stare at Lion. As he stared at the large tom, he couldn't help but notice that they had the same shape. From their noses, to the ears, to the broad shoulders and paws. Both of them had bushy tails. The number one thing though, was their eyes. Both the same shade of ice-blue. Puddlepaw was just a very small, tiny version of Lion. Carrying his mothers silver tabby fur, instead of Golden. His breath caught in his throat for a moment as a thought crossed his mind. "Could he be..? No. That's not right. Birdwhisper would never..Would she.?" A snort escaped the young tom and he shook his head before snapping his gaze away from Lion and his family and slipping off to sit by himself. The apprentice then relaxed, curling his paws underneath his chest and sighing. He had never been a good hunter, focusing more on his medicine cat duties than learning to hunt and fight. Now he felt ridiculous and useless among his clanmates. He vowed to find some herbs for his clanmates as soon as he woke up in the morning, knowing very well he needed rest before venturing from the barn.
[Moonseeker] [Warrior]--[The Barn]
After setting little Fawnkit down, Moonseeker turned and slipped off into the crowded stacks of hay. Her nose twitched slightly from the overwhelming scent of mice. She quickly pinpointed a thick mouse and dropped into a crouch. Slinking forwards, she moved close enough to leap and land on the mouse, giving it a quick bite. She then turned and slipped a little further away before spotting another mouse in the shadows. She once again moved forwards, slowly. When close enough, she darted forwards and scooped the mouse up, before killing it. Carrying the new mouse, she dropped it with the other one she had caught, before heading deeper among the hay to catch a few more. It didn't take long or the white molly to catch another three mice. She quickly collected the five mice by there tails and slipped back towards the cats. She found Puddlepaw and dropped the mice in front of him before stretching out beside him. She took a mouse for herself and waved her tail for Eagleheart and Dawnpaw to join them.
[Vixen][Pumpkin] [Loner]--[The Barn]
Vixen curled up by herself on a stack of hay, watching over the group of cats. She wasn't ready to eat yet. As she gazed down among the clan cats, her eyes found Eagleheart as she watched the tom speak to Pumpkin. Her green eyes were soft as she watched the large black and white tom. She had met him many times in their lives, and often admired the warrior. She had always been respectful to the clan cats and had been a friend to Morningstrike. Her heart ached slightly for them tom, knowing he must be suffering the loss of his kits and mate. She sighed softly and rested her head on her paws, closing her eyes. She kept her ears pricked to listen to the approach of any of the cats in the barn.
Pumpkin gazed down at the tiny kits as her mate, Lion curled around her. She nuzzled the two kits closer, purring gently. Giving them gentle licks, she watched as they started to suckle from her. Satisfied that the tiny kits were feeding, she turned her yellow eyes on Eagleheart. "They will be alright. They will be weak for a little bit, but they will survive. They just need to warm up and fill up." She paused, her gaze traveling around the group that had entered. "I'm Pumpkin. This is Lion. Patch and Flame." She pointed to her mate and then her kits one by one with her tail. "And who may all of you be.? What are these precious little kits name.?"

Eagleheart / Warrior / Barn Eagleheart purred silently as he watched the two kits finally feed, stirring for the first time since they had been removed from the nursery. They reminded him of his own, when they had been so small. He suddenly felt weary, a most unnatural exhaustion clouding his gaze. "I'm Eagleheart." He managed, turning to blink at his companions. "That's Moonseeker. These kits are her sister's. Puddlepaw here is our medicine cat apprentice, and Dawnpaw, an apprentice." He introduced each of his companions in turn, acutely aware of his vision blurring orange. "And these kits..." He paused for a second, wondering why his memory was fogging. "The tom is Rimekit. The she-kit, Fawnkit." He managed finally. He dipped his head once more in thanks, before moving to a quiet corner and curling up, hoping that some rest would clear his head. He wasn't aware of how quick and unnaturally his sleep came, plunging him in darkness.
______________________________________________________________________________________________
Lion / Loner / Barn At Puddlepaw's name, Lion looked over at the young cat, frowning slightly once more. Finally, he decided he had to confirm his suspicions. Getting to his paws, he padded over to him and drew the young cat away to the side with a sweep of his tail. He paused before the tom, eyes burning with curiosity, and something else mingling within. Finally, he meowed, "Do you know a cat named Birdwhisper? A silver she-cat?" He asked cautiously.
______________________________________________________________________________________________
Dawnpaw / Apprentice / Barn Dawnpaw needed no further invitation. She tasted the air and plunged into the hay. A short while later, she emerged, shaking golden straw from her fur and carrying three mice neatly by their tails. She left one by the sleeping Eagleheart, knowing he would be hungry when he awoke. One she set aside for herself. The third, she padded over and dropped beside Vixen awkwardly. It was an apology for being hostile before. Dipping her head in embarrassment, the young she-cat padded away, settling in a corner to eat.

[Puddlepaw] [Medicine Cat Apprentice]-[The Barn]
Puddlepaw ate two of the mice Moonseeker brought him, purring a soft thanks to the molly. He was just cleaning his whiskers when Lion padded up to him, sweeping his tail in a gesture for the apprentice to follow him. Getting to his paws, Puddlepaw followed him a little ways from the group, ears pricked in curiosity. What did Lion want with him and only him.? Shock hit him when the large tom asked about his mother. He opened his jaws, unable to speak at first. Finally, he blinked and sputtered. "Th..That..She's m..My mo..Moth..Mother. How do you.." He paused, hanging his head and taking a deep breath. When he looked up, his eyes were narrowed. "How do you know my mother.?"
(So I thought we could Rp Puddlepaw and Lion and then skip to the next day. Theres not much to rp with the others at the moment)

(That sounds good to me!)
Lion / Loner / Barn / Puddlepaw Lion let out a deep breath, his suspicions confirmed. Puddlepaw was the right age. He looked just like him. There was no more doubt. He didn't know how we was going to tell the young tom, so he decided to just be honest. With a glance at the other cats, he mewed, "Seasons ago, Birdwhisper visited the barn, badly hurt after a fight with some rogues. This was before Pumpkin. I was alone. I let her stay here while she recovered. She was a young warrior at the time, and told me stories about her Clan, and her way of life. We became...close. We became mates." He dipped his head, his expression unreadable. He could guess that Puddlepaw knew where this was going. "A short while later, Birdwhisper became pregnant with my kits. She was healed by then, and decided it was time to return to her Clan. I never saw her again. I've often wondered what happened to those kits. But now I know." His blue gaze seemed to burn in intensity, right through Puddlepaw. "Puddlepaw...I'm your father."

[Puddlepaw] [Medicine Cat Apprentice]-[The Barn]
Unable to process what was being said to him at first, Puddlepaw just stared blankly at Lion. Time stretched on, almost making it seem as if the tom hadn't heard Lion speak. Finally, his vision snapped back, blue eyes burning with anger. He flattened his ears tightly against his head and hissed through his teeth. "No wonder our mother never told us who our father was. She was ashamed that we weren't full Blazeclan." He turned his head away, tail lashing from side to side. His gaze rested on Lion's new mate, Pumpkin and their two kits. Sadness hit him like a wave as he stared at the tiny family. They would grow up with both a mother and a father. They would grow up together. They would know who their family was. "Volepaw was my brother..He would've made an amazing warrior. He..Died in the fire. Trapped like a rat and killed by the fire. And Birdwhisper.." He broke off as his mothers name slipped from his mouth, reliving the moments of her death all over again. He flattened to the ground, a whimper escaping him. "She was crushed by a tree. She never stood a chance. She just wanted to get Volepaw out. I couldn't save them. I couldn't save any of them." Sudden anger filled him again and he turned on Lion, fur bristling as he lashed out at the much larger tom. "Why didn't you ever come looking for us.? Why didn't you come after my mother.? You could have been apart of Blazeclan. You could have been there for us. You could have helped me save them."

Lion / Loner / Barn / Puddlepaw Lion dipped his head, pain prickling his solemn gaze as he learned the fate of his former mate, and his other son. "I'm sorry, Puddlepaw. I wish I could have saved them. But from the beginning, Birdwhisper and I led different lives. She could never leave the forest, and the barn has been my home for as long as I can remember." He could understand the young cat's pain and he allowed him to empty it. "I couldn't help save them, but I'll do whatever I can for you now." He meowed sincerely. There was regret, but also certainty in his voice, and a hint of pride at how far his son had come.

[Puddlepaw] [Medicine Cat Apprentice]-[The Barn]
The young tom just shook his head, unable to process everything. He had a father.? He had a father..who had never come to find him..He had a father, that now had a new family. While his mother and brother were dead. Not wanting to speak any longer, the tom turned his head away, ears flat against his head. His legs crumbled beneath him and he lay on the floor, resting his head on his paws and closing his eyes. Sadness overwhelmed him as he once again, had a flash of his mothers death. She'd turned around at the sound of his voice. She had moved to come to him. And then..Then a tree had crushed her. His eyes suddenly flashed open and he looked Lion in the eyes, his ears not moving from his head. He opened his mouth to speak, but nothing would come out. Sadness gripped his heart and he sighed, almost wishing he didn't have to be so angry at the tom. It wasn't his fault that his mother was dead. His brother had perished.

Lion / Loner / Barn / Puddlepaw Lion knew that the shock of the discovery was having a profound effect on Puddlepaw. No further conversation would change things. He would simply have to give the young tom time to process what he had learned. He dipped his head to the apprentice and padded to rejoin his family, his mind full of thoughts of Birdwhisper, and the life he had before. He had never thought that he would one day be meeting his Clan kits, yet here he was. And he was a strong capable young cat. He was angry, and he was broken, for now. Lion knew he would heal. He believed in him. And he was proud of him, even if Puddlepaw was not yet ready to believe that. The large tom felt a twinge of guilt as he looked upon his young kits for these thoughts, but he couldn't stop them. He had another family now, but he had loved Birdwhisper deeply, and their time together was intimate in a way words couldn't describe. A part of him still did, though she was gone now. He glanced back at Puddlepaw. He may have a new family, but Puddlepaw was his family too. He let out a small sigh, feeling torn as he gently nosed the sleeping kits affectionately.
______________________________________________________________________________________________
Dawnpaw / Apprentice / Barn / Puddlepaw A warm mouse dropped in front of Puddlepaw. "You need to eat." Dawnpaw mewed, a soft look in her eyes as she looked at him. She hadn't heard the details of his conversation with Lion, but she could see how upset the medicine cat apprentice looked. Something must have really shaken him. "Share this with me, it's too big to eat on my own." She urged, settling down beside him. She knew he might refuse if given the opportunity, so she didn't give him the chance to, taking a large bite from the mouse and pushing it over to him. "Eat." She mewed again.

(So are you ready to do Eagleheart's dream and then Puddlepaw can wake up in the morning and realize he's sick.?)
Puddlepaw with Dawnpaw In the barn (~Skyblaze~)
As Dawnpaw rested beside him, pushing the mouse closer, the apprentice sighed. He didn't feel like eating or talking, yet he knew Dawnpaw would keep insisting until he did eat. After a moment of hesitation, the tom took a bite, before pushing it close to his clanmate again. He chewed slowly, tempted to spit the mouthful out. After a moment, he swallowed and his stomach rumbled, making him realize how hungry he truly was. Finding comfort in Dawnpaw's presence, he pressed closer to the molly and set his head back on his paws. A soft sigh escaped him and he found himself dozing into a light sleep. Around him, he could hear his clanmates and the barn cats drifting to sleep as well. Hopefully all would turn out better tomorrow. They would have to move one day at a time. He didn't know where they were going, but he knew they would figure it out.

(Yep doing the dream right now!)
Eagleheart / Warrior / Barn Eagleheart was padding through the forest, tail raised happily. Each pawstep sank into cool, lush grass. There was no fire. The trees were still full and green, and he could smell the warm and plentiful scents of mice scurrying about. All was well with the Clan. He'd return to camp, and he would see Morningstrike and the kits waiting for him. The tom let out a purr of relieved satisfaction. He didn't know what had caused him to have such a horrible dream. He saw the grass rustle before him, and he quickly sank into a hunter's crouch. Morningstrike would enjoy a juicy mouse. He froze, however, when a cat emerged from the ferns instead, and his jaws dropped as he recognized who it was.
Mosscloud, his mother, taken from him by a rockslide, stood before him. Her dappled black and gray pelt held stars in them, and her green eyes glowed with boundless love and wisdom. This wasn't real. He hadn't seen Mosscloud in seasons. It must be a dream! A purr rumbled in his throat as he stepped forward and touched noses with his mother. "It's so good to see you again." He mewed. Then, his purr died as he realized what this meant. If this was a dream, then the fire had been real. His family and Clan were gone. "I'm sorry, Mosscloud. I couldn't protect them." He mewed softly, voice barely above a whimper. "I couldn't protect the Clan you loved." His head drooped sadly.
The star-pelted she-cat shook her head, ears flicking as she let out a mrrow of laughter. "You've grown into a strong and fearless warrior, my son. You have nothing to apologize for." Her mew grew even gentler as she bent down to touch her nose to Eagleheart's head. "All hope is not lost."
Eagleheart shook his head miserably. "Everyone is gone. Only six of us remain. What can we possibly do now?" He mewed.
"Have you forgotten already how exceptionally strong the bond between BlazeClan and StarClan is, Eagleheart?" Mosscloud prompted, and Eagleheart looked up at this. "A bond that powerful cannot be broken so easily."
"Does this mean...StarClan is still with us?" Eagleheart whispered slowly.
Mosscloud didn't reply. Instead, the forest at Eagleheart's paws dropped away into a sheer stone cliff. The tom let out an alarmed yowl and unsheathed his claws, digging them into the rock in an attempt to gain purchase. He was clinging perilously to a sheer cliff on the side of a huge gorge filled with water. The water lashed against the rock, shaking it each time and threatening to send him plunging into its dark depths. He was high up, so very high. If he fell, he would not make it. He looked up beyond the gorge and saw a twolegplace, more massive than any twolegplace he had seen before, with tall, narrow nests that reached for the sky.
He heard the sound of rocks clattering and turned his attention back to the gorge. At the bottom was a small cave, and Mosscloud now padded out of it, looking up at her son.
"Mosscloud!" Eagleheart yowled, then coughed as water spattered against him. "What does this mean?"
The she-cat retreated into the cave once more, until only her glowing green eyes were still visible. "Do not forget the past, Eagleheart. It's the key to BlazeClan's future." She mewed. Though she spoke softly, her mew seemed to resonate through the entire canyon.
"Mosscloud, wait! Don't go!" Eagleheart yowled, but his mother was gone. The water level was rising now, and Eagleheart attempted to climb higher up the slippery rocks, but his claws simply slipped from the rocks. He scrabbed desperately against the wall for a second, before he fell backwards, writhing, twisting, into the black water...

(~Skyblaze~) Vixen with Eagleheart- Puddlepaw joins them. [In the barn]
As dawn approached and the birds started to sing in the distance, Vixen got to her paws. She had slept alone, on top of a stack of hay, while the clan cats curled closer together. Lion was curled up with Pumpkin and their two kits. She sat up, giving her bright orange flank a quick grooming. After brushing down her fur, she licked her smoky grey paws and drew them over her face and ears. Once she was satisfied. the molly jumped down and slid amongst the hay stacks, searching for prey. It didn't take long for the loner to catch a couple of mice. Gathering the fresh-kill by their tails, she headed to where the black and white shape of Eagleheart was curled up. Setting the mice near him, she gently nosed the warrior, trying to wake him. Shock coursed through her as her nose touched nothing but heat. Her fur started to bristle at the fever that clearly consumed the tom. She could feel it coming off him in waves. "Eagleheart..? Are you alright..? Wake up.." She nudged the tom as she spoke, trying to wake him from his sleep. Worry flashed in her green eyes as she looked around for the other warriors.
Green eyes met ice-blue ones as Puddlepaw sat up at her slightly frantic tone. The apprentice, who had been curled up with Dawnpaw, was now heading towards them. His silver, black and white fur was sticking out in clumps. It was clear he hadn't slept well. His eyes were clouded and sleepy. As the apprentice approached them, he touched his nose to Eagleheart's cheek, nose, ears, and then paw pads. The cloudiness cleared from his gaze as a seriousness filled them. He started to search the warriors flank for wounds, moving fur with his paws. After a moment, he rolled the larger tom and exposed a horrible burn on his stomach. Ears flattening in surprise, the apprentice began to lick the wound to clean it, running over herbs he would need to help the warrior. "How could I have not checked everyone for wounds. I should have checked last night. He never acted like he was hurting this badly..I should have known."

Dawnpaw / Apprentice / Barn / Puddlepaw, Vixen, Eagleheart Awoken by the movement and loud discussion beside her, Dawnpaw stirred, raising her head. "What's going on?" She murmured. Like the other Clan cats, it was clear her sleep had been anything but restful, with dreams full of her brother's last moments. Her eyes widened at the sight of the motionless Eagleheart. His breathing came fast and labored, and it was clear that he was unwell. "Is there anything I can do?" She asked, coming up to join them. She was supremely grateful that Puddlepaw, a medicine cat despite being only an apprentice, was with them. She had no idea about herbs and cures, and wouldn't know the first thing about helping Eagleheart.

Immediately he started to speak, voice hushed. "I need moss and water. I need to clean the wound. Soothe it. I need to find..I don't know. Normally we would use comfrey, but this is already getting infecte.." He trailed off, eyes wide in thought before nodding. "Yes. Chervil. Its sweet scented. It has large fern-like leaves and white flowers. I need the leaves and cobwebs to bind them to his stomach. They will cure infection. And Feverfew. Its a small bush with daisy like flowers. The leaves of it will help his fever. And Goldenrod. I can chew it up and put the poultice beneath the Chervil leaves. Its a tall plant with yellow flowers." As the apprentice turned back to Eagleheart, Vixen was already returning with moss soaked in water. Behind her was Moonseeker, who had been woken by Vixen. She had cobwebs wrapped around her back, ready to be peeled off and used by the Medicine cat. Pebblepaw patted the ground, demanding Moonseeker to stand near him and not move while he took the moss and started dabbing Eagleheart's burnt belly.

Heading back, she did her best not to lose too much water. By time she made it back, Moonseeker was walking to Pebblepaw with cobwebs wrapped over her back. Setting the moss down, she turned to Dawnpaw and flicked her tail in a signal for the molly to lead the way out of the barn. Dawnpaw / Apprentice / Barn Anxiety shone in Dawnpaw's eyes at how serious Puddlepaw's tone was. "I'll see what I can find." She promised. Brushing her tail along her clanmate's shoulder, she padded out the crack in the barn door and out into the dawning morning. "Where do you think we can find the herbs?" She asked Vixen once the older molly had joined her. The loner probably knew this area much better than she did, so it would be better to follow her lead. Plus, Dawnpaw wanted to make up for being unfriendly the night before. Of course, she was still a bit skittish around the loner, but that was more due to the fact that to Dawnpaw, she was still a stranger.
Lion / Loner / Barn The large golden tabby was curled protectively around his mate and kits, body slowly rising and falling with soft breaths. Pumpkin's prods took a second, but he finally stirred, and blue eyes blinked away the fog of sleep. "The clan cats...?" Lion murmured, gazing over at the cats, who were all gathered around now. Puddlepaw in particular looked concerned. Lion leaned forward and pressed his nose to her ear. "I'll see what's wrong." He assured her, getting to his paws and allowing a stretch to ripple through his pelt. He padded over to hear the last few words Puddlepaw spoke. Herbs. He must be sick. "We have goldenrod on the other side of the barn." He offered uncertainly. He wanted to help, but they lived a peaceful life at the barn, and minor scrapes and scratches were easily treated with some cobwebs. He recognized goldenrod, but the others were unfamiliar to him.
Flame / Kit / Barn The stirring of cats moving around, and the two new bodies shifting against her, caused the older kit to stir from her sleep. Fur spiked from the night, she sat up with a yawn, and shook out her fur. Then, she noticed the two new arrivals, and her pale blue eyes widened in surprise as she looked to her mother. "Did you have more kits last night? Are they our siblings?" She squeaked excitedly, sleepiness seemingly all gone at the prospect.
Rimekit / Kit / Barn The white-and-cream tom seemed much better than he had been the previous night, when he was consumed by hunger and the exertions of travel so soon after birth. The night's sleep had left him much more comfortable. Now, he gave silent purrs as he slept, pressed close to Pumpkin's side. With his fur fluffed up against the dawn chill, his resemblance to Brightfall was even more pronounced.

╔═══*.·:·.☽✧ ✦ ✧☾.·:·.*═══╗ Pebblepaw ╚═══*.·:·.☽✧ ✦ ✧☾.·:·.*═══╝Turning to the golden tabby as he approached, Pebblepaw grew blank for a moment. His mind wandered back to the previous night, where he had learned that the farm cat was his father. Then quickly snapped back to the present situation. Giving a curt nod to Lion, he meowed his consent for the tom to gather the goldenrod. He would be able to put the poultice on while Vixen and Dawnpaw gathered the other supplies. Finishing cleaning up the wounds, he ran a paw over the injured warriors flank. Closing his eyes, he sent a silent prayer to his ancestors, begging them to keep Eagleheart with them. They needed the tom. What would they do without them.? He was the most experienced. He would be the strength that helped the clan cats along on their journey. "It's going to be alright, Eagleheart. We'll help you. Just hang in there."

Her tail waved behind her as she hurried along. She glanced at the younger molly as she walked, keeping her voice low. "There is some Feverfew by the pond. After we grab what we need, we can head out to the little wooded area beyond the pond. It'll take a moment, but if we are fast, I know there is some Poppy and Chervil that we can grab." As they reached the pond, she pointed to the feverfew. Her mind wondered a moment and she finally nodded. "I'll hurry to the woods. You gather the feverfew. Get back to the barn. See how you can help. I'll hurry." The slender orange molly turned on a dime and hurried around the pond, straight towards the wooded area. Her grey paws were a blur as she raced along, belly brushing the ground from how low she crouched. Green eyes pierced the area ahead of her.
Within moments, she reached the trees and dove into the forest-like area. It didn't take her long to find the spot where the Chervil was. She immediately picked up the sweet-like scent and the large fern-like leaves. Taking a moment, she carefully chewed some of the stems and carried the leaves to find some poppy. With luck, it didn't take her long to come across a dried poppy head. From the looks of it, at least 4 or 5 seeds where left. Tucking it under her chin, she carefully made her way back towards the barn. This time, moving more slowly so she didn't damage or lose the herbs she had. Yet, she kept a swift pace to her paws as well. ───✱*.。:。✱*.:。✧*.。✰*.:。✧*.。:。*.。✱ ───╔═══*.·:·.☽✧ ✦ ✧☾.·:·.*═══╗ Moonseeker ╚═══*.·:·.☽✧ ✦ ✧☾.·:·.*═══╝ Still sitting with Puddlepaw.

The middles hinted with green. His patchy orange, white and black fur fluffed up at Flame's words and he turned his head to eye the newest arrivals. Sniffing at them, he tilted his head in curiosity. One was a little pale ginger and golden spotted tabby, the other was a white and cream colored tom with a ginger face. He let out a sputter of tiny laughter at his sisters question. "There's no way, Flame! They look nothing like us!"
Listening to her two kits, Pumpkin just shook her head, amusement thick in her yellow eyes. She nosed the tiny little kits closer to her, glad to see they were eating and sleeping well. They already looked much better. She could say with confidence, they weren't in any danger anymore. After a moment, she turned to her own two children and touched her nose to each of theirs. "Good morning, my little ones. No. We have some newcomers with us. Their home was destroyed in a fire. These little kits lost their parents. So I'm going to help take care of them until they are strong enough to survive without me." ───✱*.。:。✱*.:。✧*.。✰*.:。✧*.。:。*.。✱ ───(~Skyblaze~ )

Lion / Loner / Barn Lion returned the nod and padded quickly out of the barn. He didn't show it, but he was grateful that Puddlepaw had allowed him to help. He had been worried that the young tom wouldn't want to let him into his life after the revelation from the previous night. Of course, this may just be an allowance due to the emergency. He just hoped that wasn't the case. He rounded the corner of the barn, careful to avoid the long, shiny twoleg sticks that were laying about, until he came upon the small patch of plants at the back. Most were weeds, but among them, he spotted a few tendrils of goldenrod peeking through. With a sigh of relief, he tilted his head and carefully gnawed off some stems, then straightened and made his way back around and inside. He dropped the plant beside Puddlepaw, with a glance at the still Eagleheart beside him. "Will this be enough?" He asked.
Dawnpaw / Apprentice / Outside Barn Dawnpaw followed Vixen willingly as the loner led her along a hill on the other side of the barn. They were now opposite Clan territory, and she was unfamiliar with the area. She made sure as they walked to pay attention to the surrounding details, in case they needed to return. An audible sigh of relief left the young cat at the sign of feverfew, as she released a breath she hadn't realized she'd been holding. She'd been worried that the fire had taken the precious herbs Eagleheart needed, but it seemed her worries were baseless.
At Vixen's instructions, she turned in surprise. "Don't you want someone to come with you?..." She began, but trailed off as Vixen had already disappeared. Of course, she'd lived out here on her own for this long. She didn't need an escort. Instead, she made for the feverfew, carefully biting off the stems of the small bush until she had as much as she could carry. Her mouth full, she straightened and made a beeline for the barn.
Flame / Kit / Barn The tortoiseshell she-cat's blue eyes widened in awe at the news of the fire, as if she couldn't believe she'd slept through such a thing, and then softened in sympathy at the thought of the kits' parents being gone. "Poor mites." She murmured. She couldn't even think of losing her parents. In her young life, the caring and patient Pumpkin and the protective and humorous Lion had always been a constant. She was proud that her mother had chosen to take care of the younger kits. Besides, this meant they were no longer the younger kits, which meant she would get to teach them all the best games! "What are their names?" She prompted, leaning forward to give the she-cat a curious sniff.

╔═══*.·:·.☽✧ ✦ ✧☾.·:·.*═══╗ Pebblepaw ╚═══*.·:·.☽✧ ✦ ✧☾.·:·.*═══╝Upon the return of Lion, Pebblepaw turned his attention to his father. The stems of goldenrod hung from his mouth as he pushed them towards him. Giving the large golden and white tabby a thankful nod, he took the goldenrod and chewed the stems into a poultice. Once it was at the consistency that felt right to him, the apprentice smeared the herbs onto the unconscious warriors burnt belly. Just as he finished placing as much of it as he could, Vixen and Dawnpaw appeared. Dawnpaw approached first, before Vixen followed soon after. Relief washed over him at the sight of Feverfew and chervil. Taking the large leaves of chervil, she wrapped them around the black and white tabby's herb soaked belly. After placing them with gentle paws, he used his teeth to wrap cobwebs around Eagleheart's body. After feeling like he had made a difference, he settled back and looked down at the injured warrior.
"Eagleheart..Eagleheart, it's Pebblepaw. Are you with us.? Can you wake up.?" He shook the tom softly, urging him to the waking world. He had to get the feverfew and poppy seeds into him. Taking the herbs from Vixen and Dawnpaw, he pushed them to Eagleheart's maw. "Come on Eagleheart. Wake up long enough to get these herbs in you. It will help with the fever and pain." ───✱*.。:。✱*.:。✧*.。✰*.:。✧*.。:。*.。✱ ───╔═══*.·:·.☽✧ ✦ ✧☾.·:·.*═══╗ Vixen ╚═══*.·:·.☽✧ ✦ ✧☾.·:·.*═══╝ As she had worked her way to the barn, she had covered quite the distance, following close behind Dawnpaw. It was a wonder she had almost caught up to the younger molly, yet not a surprise. Vixen knew this area like the back of her paw. While Dawnpaw reached the barn first, it was soon after that she pushed in after the tortoiseshell and ginger molly. As Pebblepaw took the herbs with him, Vixen brushed against Dawnpaw. Giving a dip of her head, she murmured softly. "I'm going to go fishing at the pond. You are welcome to join me, if you'd like."
Turning on grey paws, the blazing orange molly pushed back out of the barn. It was getting crowded and the worry of Eagleheart overwhelmed her senses. It pooled off the clan cats in waves. Giving a shake of her head, she headed towards the pond. It'd been quite some time since she had been in this part of the territory. She had been wondering around clan territory for almost a moon, avoiding Lion and Pumpkins barn. While she had spent a lot of time with her sister, she'd wondered on and off since the molly had become pregnant with Lions kits. ───✱*.。:。✱*.:。✧*.。✰*.:。✧*.。:。*.。✱ ───╔═══*.·:·.☽✧ ✦ ✧☾.·:·.*═══╗ Moonseeker ╚═══*.·:·.☽✧ ✦ ✧☾.·:·.*═══╝ Still sitting with Puddlepaw.

Sweeping her tail over all four kits, she gave a quick lick to each of them. While the day old kits were weak, life had poured into them over night. She watched as the kneaded her belly, suckling once more. As Flame sniffed the little ginger and golden spotted molly, a meowl of protest sounded from her little body. She snuggled closer to Pumpkin's orange and black tortoiseshell fur. Giving a soft laugh, she shook her head. "Well, My dear Flame, I'm not sure these little ones have names yet. These poor clan cats had to escape. I don't believe they had time to name the kits."
At the same moment, Patch was nudging the little white and cream tom with his little paw. His patchy orange, black and white fur was puffed up and ungroomed as he looked at the newest arrivals with excitement in his orange eyes. "They are so tiny. How long before we can play with them.? Will they live with us forever.? Will they be our siblings now!?"
Giving a shake of her head, yellow eyes glowed with worry. She didn't want her kits to get their hopes up about anything. Giving a gentle nosing to the two, she moved their adventurous bodies away from the tiny creatures. "Now, Now. My little ones. They are very very young. It will be many days before they can play. As for staying here, I don't believe the clan cats plan on staying. And I don't believe they plan on leaving their kin behind. They are all family. No matter if they are blood or not."

(Eagleheart already told the barn cats the kits' names by the way ^^) ♥𝔉𝔯𝔬𝔰𝔱ℜ𝔬𝔰𝔢♥Lion / Loner / BarnLion sat back and watched with pride mingled with slight awe at how quickly and efficiently Puddlepaw worked to get the necessary cures into Eagleheart. He was so young, but he knew so much. He felt sympathy for everything that the young tom had lost, but also felt a deep regard for him. He'd grown up into a fine young cat, and no matter the circumstances that had drawn them together, they were together now. That was all that mattered. He wished beyond everything that he'd gotten a chance to know his other son, Volepaw. From what Puddlepaw had shared, the other tom had also grown into a fine young cat, before his untimely demise. There was nothing he could have done. All he could do know was lend his aid to Volepaw's surviving brother. He watched thoughtfully as Puddlepaw applied the final bits of poultice onto the injured warrior and remained close by, providing some comfort and ready to offer any assistance if he was needed. - Eagleheart / Warrior / BarnEagleheart was sinking, deeper...and deeper...the water surrounded him, consumed him entirely. He was so far down now that no light reached him, yet how was he alive? Then, a desperate yowl pierced the darkness, and the water melted away. He slowly opened his eyes, which were heavy from the feverish sleep. The world slowly came into focus, alongside the worried expression of the cats around him. He was home. "Puddle...paw?" He managed to mew weakly, turning his head to look around. Though his face was ashen, color began to quickly return as he reoriented himself. "I'm at the barn..." He mused almost wondrously, as if he'd just come from a far off journey. Which, in a way, he had. Then, he scented the thick poultice, and grimaced. "Was I injured?" He asked as the memory of the previous night began to return. Arriving at the barn, making sure the kits were safe, and then immediately falling into that deep, perilous sleep...He shook his head to clear it and tipped it inquiringly at the watching medicine cat apprentice. - Dawnpaw / Apprentice / BarnDawnpaw looked a bit surprised at the invitation, but then shook her head politely. "I'm sorry, but I need to be with my clanmates right now." She meowed softly. While she was certainly seeing the ginger loner in a new light, just as Vixen was used to isolation, Dawnpaw was skittish around newcomers, and moreover, she was worried about Eagleheart. She couldn't peacefully hunt while she knew her clanmate was in trouble. She looked over as Puddlepaw began work on Eagleheart, a little more used to the procedure of using herbs than the loners, yet still fascinated at the same time. She was perfectly at home hunting or fighting off intruders, but she could never understand the myriad of herbs, and how Puddlepaw knew every one, and how to use them. The sound of a weak mew from beside her caused her to turn, and her eyes lit up. "Eagleheart!" She exclaimed. "You're okay!" Puddlepaw's quick thinking seemed to have worked. Eagleheart looked a lot better than the thick stupor he had just been in, and for the first time since the fire, Dawnpaw felt relief. Relief at seeing a clanmate recover. Relief that something was finally going right for them after so much pain and grief. - Flame / Kit / Barn"Clan cats..." Flame murmured as she looked at the cats surrounding Eagleheart with a look close to wonder. They looked so capable. While her father was big and strong, the Clan cats' muscles rippled from rigorous daily exercise, and their pelts were marked with faint scars from past battles. They seemed to live a life of adventure and freedom that far eclipsed her rather sheltered upbringing in the barn, and the little kit was in awe. She then turned back to the tiny newborns. Even their kit-soft pelts were mottled in a pattern unique to the forest cats, in contrast to her own. "You really are special, little kits!" She mewed with a purr. Of course, she was still a little kit herself, but she couldn't help but already feel protective of the tiny sleeping bundles.
