This is a small group roleplay with myself, ♥𝔉𝔯𝔬𝔰𝔱ℜ𝔬𝔰𝔢♥ , ~Skyblaze~ , 𝚜𝚑𝚢𝚒𝚗𝚞𝚗 , and @fallownose .
Plot WillowClan lives in a bright woodland with streams and meadows scattered throughout. Prey has always been plentiful for them and they lived peacefully, rarely bothered by outsiders or the twolegs who lived in the nearby town. That is, until this greenleaf when the twolegs had begun to poison their prey. When their clan ate the tainted prey they got sick and died, as their medicine cat had nothing they could do to combat the poison. It became increasingly hard to find prey that was healthy. They turned to the streams, hoping to fill their bellies with fish, but they soon found that the water was also polluted. There was nothing they could do. Slowly, one by one, their clan was dying. They had to witness the poison take their leader's last life and before their deputy could go receive their nine lives they also fell sick and joined StarClan. Now left without leadership the small clan of survivors must flee their home in search of a safe place to rebuild.

(( sorry this took longer than expected, i wasn't quite sure how i should start. hope this is okay for everyone c: ))
A heavy silence hung over the small group of cats, the only remaining of survivors of WillowClan. The sun was just beginning to rise, casting long shadows through the center of the camp's clearing. The long night was coming to an end along with the silent vigil they sat for their leader who'd fallen only the day before, abandoning and betraying them. Bluebright couldn't resist the resentment growing in her heart towards the late WillowClan leader. Wasn't there something more they could have done to help, to stop all the unnecessary deaths? What was once a mighty clan bustling with life was now only a tiny fraction of what it was. To make matters worse the deputy fell victim to the poison only hours after, that very same evening. StarClan must really be looking out for them. You could hardly count the elder and apprentice to be useful, she decided, so they probably only had about five or six good sets of paws. Hardly a patrol's worth left over to take care of the clan. Not that there was anything left to do besides sit in camp and feel sorry for themselves - they couldn't even hunt, all the prey was sickly and was killing them. "Alright, is nobody going to say it?" She meowed, her loud voice breaking the silence as her narrowed green eyes scanned the camp, staring into the gazes of each of her clanmates. "We need to leave. It's not safe, we're all going to die. Just like Birdstar." She spat out, her tail thrashing across the grass. She remembered Herontuft brought it up a while ago, that maybe they should move to find a safer place away from the stupidity of the twolegs, but Birdstar hadn't wanted to. She suspected the leader would regret that decision now, having all their remaining lives ripped away.
Reedpaw was crouched in camp with his head dipped, remaining silent. How many vigils did he have to sit through over the past few moons? Far too many for him to keep track. His own mother's. His littermates'. So many of his clanmates were already gone. He had settled near the nursery, as if being close to the empty den would calm him. He missed being snuggled in his warm mossy nest, without the responsibilities of an apprentice. If only he'd have known, he would have appreciated those days more. His head lifted as someone spoke up, turning to look towards Bluebright. The warrior looked angry and tired. Tilting his head at her words, he stood up in interest. "Leave?" He echoed, curious. This was the first time he heard the option discussed. It hadn't even occurred to him that they might leave the forest, the only home he'd ever known.

Sitting a few fox-lengths away, Larkthistle was watching Bluebright as she spoke up. He couldn't help but to agree. The dark tabby moved to stand beside his fellow clanmate, his golden eyes lighting up. He was good at hiding his emotions, but his heart was feeling anger and sorrow. His brother and his daughter, Dawnpaw, had been taken from him. He couldn't stand this place anymore. "I agree," he meowed, he tail lashing. "This place is cursed. We've lost so many clanmates." He then looks at the silver she-cat, eyes narrowing to show he was serious. "If you are leaving, I will too."
"We can't leave!" Rosepetal's voice rose, "We've been here for too long!" Her heart was racing, fear settling in. She didn't want her clan to leave her, she didn't want them to fight amongst themselves. Her blue eyes were wide, her long fur ruffled. She couldn't believe her clanmates were thinking of leaving. Yes, she knew how much heartbreak has gone around and yes she has seen her clanmates die. It was hard for her to point her feelings into words, but she didn't want to leave for the fear of not finding another place to live. She feared what would happened to them if they just left without a plan.
//hope this is alright ahhh

(Sorry I can’t do much, I’m working. So this will be a quick reply. Ren, I thought maybe Birdstar could be the daughter to Shadespring. Is that alright.?)
The eldest remaining cat of the group crouched near his lifeless leader and daughter. His blue eyes were clouded with grief at the loss of Birdstar. Anger filled every inch of him. Anger at his daughter for not wanting to leave while she was still alive. Anger at the Twolegs for taking so many of his clanmates from him. Anger at Starclan for allowing so many to die, without a warning. He had watched every one of his grown kits and their kits drop like flies, had sat by his mates side as she fell to the sickness that the poison had caused through the camp. Now that remained was a grief-stricken group that didn’t even make up half of the once great, Willowclan. Flattening his ears against his head, his head whipped around to face Bluebright as she spoke up. And then his blue gaze turned to Larkthistle, as the tom agreed. Shadespring couldn’t help but fall into agreement with the two warriors. If the rest of the clan was to survive, they must leave. With determination filling him, he let out a meow of agreement, nodding his head thoughtfully. “You’re right. It’s the only way for the rest of us to survive.”

Scorchfire was silent at first, simply observing the other cats as they discussed the Clan's fate. Only 10 cats remained of the once bustling Clan, and Scorchfire felt the loss as badly as the others. He didn't say it aloud, but the red and white tom had been planning to leave even before Birdstar's death. It was clear that the Clan had been dying, and there was no future in their home. If Birdstar had wanted to stay, he wasn't planning on dying alongside her. After Birdstar's death, he had planned to slip away quietly after the vigil, to seek a life away from the poison and death, until Bluebright had brought up the idea of living to the whole clan. The tom didn't want to leave his Clan, but he was glad that there some who saw his point of view. The tom padded up to join the others. "I agree." He mewed bluntly. "I'm sorry, Rosepetal, but there's nothing left for us here. I haven't eaten in days. None of us have." His blue eyes, normally alight in good-natured humor, were now solemn as he looked over his clanmates. "I'm leaving by sunhigh." He announced. There was no point in keeping it to himself anymore. "If any cat wishes to join me, feel free. But I can't stay here and slowly starve anymore." His parents, and all three of his littermates, had perished from the sickness. He had no kin left in the Clan.
A soft tail rested on Reedpaw's shoulders. Lakedapple had padded up to sit beside the younger tom, her green gaze sympathetic. They had all lost so much to the poison. Lakedapple had watched her sister slowly waste away to the poison, slowly growing weaker alongside her unborn kits. "It'll be okay." She murmured, though she didn't sound as convinced in herself. After all, the young warrior found the thought of leaving everything behind just as alien. Yet, she knew it had to be done. Yesterday, the patrols had found one squirrel between them. One! There was nothing left to say.

Cherrypaw hung his head, staring at the ground and lashing his long red tail back and forth. Their Clan was dying, and he felt helpless to do anything. The herbs he and his mentor had were useless in stopping the poison from killing their Clanmates; they'd tried everything, but nothing was enough. There was nothing they could do. He had to face the facts - staying here would mean WillowClan's destruction. Leaving now was the only possibility for survival.
With a deep breath, Cherrypaw spoke, his voice barely more than a whisper. "I think we should leave, too. The herbs we have can't do anything to stop the poison, and... and I don't think the Twolegs will stop anytime soon." He glanced toward the camp entrance, thinking of the dozens of graves they had dug in the past moon. He thought of his father's grave, and his sister's. "I don't want to bury anymore of our Clanmates." Cherrypaw closed his eyes, wishing for the comfort of his family beside him. He didn't want to leave them behind, but... there was no other choice.
Was it even a question? Of course they had to leave! Larksky growled deep in her throat, wondering why some of her Clanmates were even questioning it. Did they want to die, too? Or were they just too scared to leave the Clan's little haven? They were warriors, for StarClan's sake!
But she bit her tongue, aware that no one would take such criticism from a young warrior like her. They had to focus on the task at hand. "So, it looks like most cats are willing to leave," she interjected. "But who's supposed to lead us? Or is it just every cat for herself?" she added with a flick of her ears. Larksky knew she could do just fine on her own, but some of the others... not so much.
(𝚜𝚑𝚢𝚒𝚗𝚞𝚗 - how do you feel about Cherrypaw being Rosepetal's son? Just to build some relationships in the Clan c: )

Sitting at the edge of the camp, away from the small and tattered group that remained of Willowclan, exhaustion burned in the orange eyes of the clan’s medicine cat. The molly sat with her head hanging and her light blue spotted tabby pelt, ruffled. She listened to the outcry of her little group, a deep sigh escaping her. Most sounded in agreement about leaving, a couple sounded doubtful. In those very moments, Flamepool couldn’t help but agree with the cats that wanted to leave. She’d been struggling to keep her clan alive, only to watch them die one after the other, at her paws. No matter how hard she tried, she was unable to save any of the poisoned. She couldn’t remember the last time she had accepted food. Or slept more than a moment. Let alone even took the time to clean herself. Her ribs were starting to show and her fur had never been so dirty. The grief and exhaustion that clouded her eyes, had become a permanent look for the little molly, since the beginning of the clans demise. At the sound of her apprentice’s whisper, the tabby molly pricked her ears. She hardly caught what the little tom was saying, besides the agreement that they should leave. Finally, rising to her paws and stepping up to the gathered group, Flamepool let her orange gaze clear up and sweep across the remaining clanmates. “I am in agreement as well. I believe that no matter where we go, our ancestors will follow. They will be with us, every step of the way. We can’t live this way any longer. I don’t want to see another death.” She paused at the question of who would lead the group to a new home. How would they choose who to follow. Shadespring was the eldest of the group, The wisest, but the tom himself would need assistance in the journey. As well as Cherrypaw and Reedpaw. Larkthistle was the second oldest of the group. Everyone else was still so young. How could they choose who to lead them.?

Bluebright looked around at the others as they expressed their agreement, besides Rosepetal. She was reluctant, which Bluebright had expected from her. She narrowed her eyes pointedly towards the cream colored she-cat. "Glad to see most of us have sense. We'll be departing at Sunhigh." She shot a glance towards Scorhfire before her green eyes settled back on Rosepetal. "Anyone can stay if they'd like, but they're just going to die." Her attention focused on Flamepool as the medicine cat spoke, her ears slightly flattening at the mention of StarClan. At this point she didn't really care if their ancestors followed them. It was clear they had no intention of helping the clan anymore. If they had, they wouldn't be in this mess. She huffed at Larksky's mention of leadership, standing up and turning away. She didn't really care who would be the leader of their sad group, she would be fine taking care of herself. "Ask your precious ancestors." She spat over her shoulder before padding away from the group, tail swishing with irritation. She sat down near the camp entrance, trying to tune out the rest of their conversation.
Reedpaw felt Lakedapple's tail rest across his shoulders and leaned into her comforting touch with a shaky purr. "We just have to stick together." He responded, touching his nose to her shoulder. As long as they took care of each other they would all be okay. Like Flamepool said, StarClan would follow them where ever they went. His green eyes trailed after Bluebright, eyes slightly widening. Did the warrior turn her back on StarClan? Their ancestors? He shook his head, turning his focus to the rest of the group. "Maybe the oldest should become leader?" He spoke up with his suggestion, a little hesitant. He was only an apprentice, maybe he should let the warriors sort it out. His voice grew quieter. "Or we can decide along the way..."

Larkthistle nodded to the cats that wanted to leave. He glanced towards Rosepetal, knowing that her views were valid. He had the same thoughts when everything started to go downhill. "Right," he nodded to Bluebright, "We shall all try to hunt and eat something before we leave." He glanced over towards Flamepool, hoping that the medicine cat would at least try and gather some traveling herbs.
Rosepetal's heart sunk as everyone seemed to turn on her. She didn't want to leave. The history she had here, her entire life she had lived here! The cream tabby looked to the ground before looking towards her son. But, if she wanted to survive... "Oh, Cherrypaw..." She moved towards him, wanting to comfort him if needed.

(Gonna get a post in to help move things along ^^)
Scorchfire didn't need to be asked a second time. Despite how empty it was, the camp felt stifling, and he couldn't bear to spend much longer there. He couldn't wait until they were off. The tom padded over to Bluebright. "Want to hunt?" He offered. She had been the first to suggest leaving aloud, and he was sure she was just as eager to get out of camp as he was.
Lakedapple let out a small purr of amusement despite the circumstances. Reedpaw certainly was one to consider such looming tasks before any other cat did. "I don't think we need a leader just yet." She meowed honestly. It hadn't been that long since they had just lost their leader and deputy. She was inclined to believe that no cat wanted the role just yet. "I would follow Larkthistle, I think. Or Scorchfire. They both seem to know exactly what they want..." She ruminated, gaze trailing over the two toms.

Scorchfire let out an audible sigh of relief as soon as they were out of the camp. Tension hung in that camp so thick that he could taste it, and as soon as he was outside, it was as if the air felt lighter. Not that things were much better in the forest. Every piece of prey, if any was left, could be a deathtrap in waiting. "I'll be glad to be out of here." He murmured. He was sure that some of his clanmates, namely Rosepetal, was unhappy with leaving behind everything they knew, but for Scorchfire, that couldn't be further from the truth. This was no longer home, with barely any clanmates left and a forest full of prey that was deadly to them. Thankfully, he heard the stirring of small movement, just in time to clear his thoughts. He quietly raised his tail for stillness and scented the air, smelling mouse. the small creature was crawling just a few tail-lengths way. It looked skinny and kind of tired, and it was an easy pounce for Scorchfire to catch it. With the ever present worry of poison, he scented deeply, but thankfully, the mouse's scent was clear of the stench that plagued so many others.
"Why don't we go look for something as well?" Lakedapple suggested. She hated sitting around camp waiting, and she was sure a bit of light hunting would help take the apprentice's mind off of things as well. Her paws were itching with restless energy now that they finally had a plan, and she needed to work some of it off before the journey.

With a simple flick of her tail, Bluebright parted from Scorchfire and padded in the opposite direction to find some prey of her own. She soon found the scent trail of a squirrel and followed it carefully, pausing to crouch in the undergrowth and stalk towards it when she heard the creature stirring among some roots up ahead. When the timing was right she burst from her cover and leapt towards the rodent, who tried to scramble up the tree but she snagged it with her claws before it got too far up and pulled it down. She killed it with a swift blow to the throat. She looked over the prey and tentatively sniffed it, reeling back in horror as her senses were flooded with the sickly, sour smell. The squirrel was poisoned. Perhaps she should have noticed before she killed it, as it's body was thin and weak, but the adrenaline of the hunt and her hunger must have been enough to get her senses to ignore the disgusting smell radiating off of it. The spotted tabby spat in disgust, scrambling away from the body. She didn't want to touch it in fear the disease would transfer to her.
Reedpaw hesitated at her suggestion, looking towards the forest outside of camp. While he was exhausted and the thought of resting before a long journey was appealing, he felt like he should be doing something more to contribute to the clan. Plus the idea of walking through the territory and hunting in their home one last time was nice. "Alright." He agreed, standing up and gently nudging Lakedapple's shoulder.
