Oh hey I think I posted a similar thread in 2016.
I’ve been using Microsoft surface pros since Christmas 2016 but tbh I haven’t had the greatest luck with them-
(Click to read through a lot of computer issues.)
In short, I’ve had three (four? Not sure if they sent me a new one when the screen broke of if they just replaced the screen since I reset it before I sent it in) Surface Pros, the oldest and newest had issues within about three months of getting them and the second one lasted about three years, so I’m seriously considering bringing it back for a refund and switching to an iPad Pro and maybe getting a regular laptop (or new desktop?) sometime in the future. I don’t think I’ll be using ClipStudio on the iPad anytime soon since i don’t like doing subscriptions (especially when the desktop version is one time buy) but I actually have procreate already on my 6th gen iPad and tbh I’m pretty sure I’ve been using it more than csp since I got it anyway, even though the layers are limited on regular ipads. I know a few people who have iPad Pros and really like using them for art, but I’m also curious about how they compare in general to basic iPads (Mine’s a 6th gen with (I think) 32gb storage)

the first one (pro 4) had issues where it would randomly click all over the screen, causing things to open/close/etc and within maybe 3 months of having it, it got so bad that I couldn’t use it. I had it swapped out for another one and it seemed to work well. I think I’d had it for maybe a couple years, had to get the screen replaced once because my necklace got caught between the screen and keyboard and cracked it, and eventually I started getting an issue where random gibberish would appear when I tried typing. It only seemed to happen when I used the type over, so I tried a Bluetooth keyboard for a bit. The issue went away after awhile but would start up again every now and then and would last for different amounts of time. The screen started flickering slightly at times but I didn’t think it was anything major so I didn’t worry too much about it. Then it started sort of pixelating and finally the screen totally stopped working around May of this year. It was still under warranty so I was able to get a refund. I was debating on whether I should go with an iPad Pro or another Surface since I’d had so many issues but I decided to try again since I really did like drawing in ClipStudio (the iPad version is subscription only atm) and figured that by now they would have fixed the issues. I got a Surface Pro 7 in July and got everything set up but I started having issues almost immediately- pretty much every time it wakes from sleep mode, it’s wifi connection drops really bad (like half or a quarter of the speed it should be) and I have to restart it to fix it. Like with the pro 4 I had, the screen starts flickering sometimes, and most recently, I’ll go to turn it on and the windows logo just flickers/scrolls over the screen (recording’s from the first night it happened, think it’s worse now.) and I have to force it to restart again.
