(oh gosh guys! so sorry i disappeared for a little! a lot of stuff just happened in my personal life, and i still need to recover from it i missed you all so much! i'm glad to see we are making some fun plans! well... not so fun, in regards to killing our characters. ) Mallowpaw Mallowpaw bit her tongue as she realized how much she had affected Spottedlily. It wasn't her fault, she was only the messenger. She gave her a slow blink as an apology, then looked down at her paws, a couple tears escaping from her bright green eyes. Then, she noticed Alligatorsnap beginning to head back. She turned up on her hind legs toward camp, and followed a fast pace behind the deputy. Her legs felt so weak, but she kept running. She almost fell several times, but then, she had made it... She didn't want to go into camp. She could already hear the cries of despair. But her siblings needed her... and frankly, she needed them. It was time to push through, no matter how terrible Mallowpaw felt, there was no giving up and StarClan wasn't going to stop time for her. -mallow,travelled to camp

Craneflight - in camp - with Fogwhisker
"Can't they keep it down a little?" Craneflight murmured to Fogwhisker, hearing the argument across the camp. It stood to reason that tempers were high, but she did wish her Clanmates would wait a little before turning on each other. They could show that much respect to Puddlestar, at least. Returning to a happier subject, she said, "I didn't think so either at your age, but even the most staid old cats in this Clan have at least one wild story lurking in their past."

♥♥✬♥♥
The little black and orange molly dipped her head to her mentor as she spoke, a soft purr of relief escaping her, as her mentor touched her nose to her head. She couldn't feel more grateful to have her mentor here with her, to guide her along the way. As Lilysplash gave her the orders to check for shock, Twilightpaw immediately raced to the medicine cats den, to grab a head of poppy. Shaking a few out, she gently picked the seeds up, and headed for the nursery. She figured that she should immediately check on two of the three youngest kits of Puddlestar. The had been in much distress, and she knew they could use a poppy seeed. Turning on her paws, she swiftly moved to the nursery, shoving her way into the nursery. Her gaze softened, as she watched Minnowripple, curled around the two grieving apprentices. Silently, she slipped up to the three cats, dipping her head to Minnowripple, before setting down a poppy seed at both Willowpaw's and Grovepaw's muzzles. Keeping her voice soft, nudging them both with compassion, she spoke. "Willowpaw. Grovepaw. I want you to eat these. It'll help calm your nerves. Help ease the pain you are feeling now." She knew it wouldn't completely take their pain away. Nothing could do that. But she wanted to calm them enough, that they could go through the vigil of their mother, easier. ♥♥✬♥♥
Littlefeather could barely contain her anger, but the return of Alligatorsnap, and the voice of her medicine cat, Lilysplash, The white and gray molly, forced her fur flat. Her brother, Bogwings reassurance, that Bogwing meant no harm, and the warriors apology itself, made her sink back against her brother for a moment, her head down in shame. She knew she shouldn't have snapped at Bogwing. He was doing nothing but trying to help the grieving clan, in a horrible time. Finally, with a shake of her head, she sighed, tears rolling down her face, as she sent a finally glare at Copperflare. She knew she shouldn't be so suspicious of her adoptive brother. But something just felt so wrong to her, and she couldn't exactly put a paw on it, in that very moment. Maybe it was just her pain talking. Shoving past Copperflare, giving him a warning growl, she slipped away from the group of warriors, suddenly feeling extremely overwhelmed. She slowly and quietly, headed towards the body of her mother, her green eyes, widening in sadness. Shoving past Darkriver and Stonestalker, she sunk down, shoving her entire face against Puddlestars flank, sobbing into it. How could she just be gone.? Just like that.? Littlefeather believed that it wouldn't hurt so badly, if it was something they expected. But no one expected this. How could they. She was so sure that her mother had more lives, than just the one. It just made no sense at all. ♥♥✬♥♥
The black appaloosa molly forced the growl in her throat to stop, as her mate reassured her that Littlefeather's fit, didn't hurt his feelings. She kept her yellow eyes narrowed, as she watched the clan around her, keeping her flank pressed against Egretcry's. She loosened a little, as Alligatorsnap joined the group, and took control of the situation. As Egretcry informed him of everything, she turned and nuzzled his neck. The molly couldn't be more proud of her mate. He was always trying to do his best for his clanmates. The compassion he had for the grievingwarriors, filled her heart with warmth. She was lucky to have him. She waited for some kind of order or idea, of what she could do to help her clanmates.
Stonestalker ♥♥✬♥♥
Pulling his mate closer to him, with his long and busy tail, Stonetalker nuzzled her cheek in a comforting greeting. He watched as Littlefeather pushed by him, to reach her mother, before turning, and urging Mudfoot to follow him. He wanted to give the grieving molly, some space alone, away from her clanmates, which she seemed to desperately need. The burly tom, let out a soft sigh, as he shook his thoughts from his head. The comfort of his mate, was enough to keep him calm. Turning to the large white and brown molly, he blinked reassuringly at her. "This is a hard time for her children, my love. They just don't want to believe that something like this could have happened to Puddlestar." He paused, his deep green eyes, meeting her blue ones. "I know that she wouldn't have wanted all this fighting. None of us do. I don't even think her kits do. They are just finding anger, in their sadness. Give them a moment, they will give her the proper vigil. I believe it." ♥♥✬♥♥
As the calico molly reached Stormcall, her mind raced. What would she tell the tom. How could she tell him. Her heart ached, as she stopped, directly in front of him. Her eyes filled with sorrow and a deep apology. "Stormcall..I..I hate to be the one to have to tell you this..But..You need to come back to camp. It..It's your mother.." She trailed off, flattening her ears a little. The fur on her shoulders, rising uncomfortably. The molly was already a very shy cat. Only very close to her sister. This was hard for her to do. She was terrified of how the tom would react. "She..Copperflare brought her body back to camp..She..She's gone, Stormcall. I..I am so so sorry. He says a gator got her..Your siblings have been fighting. They are having a very hard time with this. I..I wanted you to be able to come back to camp, to say your goodbyes to your mother. To be there for your siblings. I didn't want you to find out by coming home, and seeing her there."

Alligatorsnap in camp - with everyone »»---------------------------«« The tom let the quiet of his sudden presence settle over his grieving clan mates, turning his head to nod gratefully in Egretcry's direction. At least someone had been trying to control the chaos, instead of just letting their emotions control them. "Thank you," he murmured quietly, his amber eyes softening slightly before they went sharp once more. Alligatorsnap loved his clan and was unprepared for the weight that was now placed on his shoulders but where Puddlestar had always been kindness and motherly wisdom, the deputy had always been take-charge and courageous. While he may not be as delicate as their former leader would have been in this situation, that didn't mean he wasn't hurting or that he didn't care about his clan mates and their own pains.
The sight of his sister brought a sense of relief to him that even the brown and white tabby couldn't explain. Logically he'd known Lilysplash hadn't been in danger but it was still nice to see her, alive and well before him. He listened intently to her story, the words lodging in his chest like thorns. "An alligator?" he muttered, mostly to himself. His own namesake had killed their leader. What kind of omen was that? Suddenly Alligatorsnap felt ill. His gaze turned to Bogwing and softened in sympathy immediately. "Would you help the elders prepare your mother's body for her vigil? I'm sure Littlefeather will want to help as well. Egretcry, how is our fresh-kill pile? We're all grieving but going hungry will only make us weaker right now. The borders are clear for now," his voice held quiet authority but grief as well. He'd lost his mentor today.
Grovepaw in camp - with Willowpaw, Minnowripple, and Twilightpaw »»---------------------------«« Grovepaw had curled tightly around his sister as Minnowripple rested next to them, offering them comfort in a way only a mother could. His wished Mallowpaw were here, so he could keep her safe as well. He wanted to protect all of his siblings from the pain they were feeling, even if he really couldn't. His tears had begun to slow, as though he was running out of them. His blue eyes flashed up to meet Twilightpaw, hostile at first but then fading to dull emptiness. He quietly lapped up the seed before nudging it closer to Willowpaw, not having the will to fight the taking of the medicine. Anything to make it easier to breathe.
Stormcall hunting - with Maplefall »»---------------------------«« Stormcall was at first annoyed with Maplefall's stumbling over her words, his dark gray tail flicking behind him tersely. All of that faded away when she eventually spit out what she needed to say. His blue eyes were blank and uncomprehending, not able to understand the possibility that his mother was no longer here. "That's not... That's not possible!" he snarled, anger exploding in his chest. He'd been here this whole time, wandering up and down the banks. This is where the gators made their home and he would have heard his mother thrashing about. There was no way in StarClan that his mother had died from an alligator attack.

Willowpaw/Minnowripple - in Camp - with Grovepaw, Twilightpaw, and Minnowripple (little blu ♥, ♥𝔉𝔯𝔬𝔰𝔱ℜ𝔬𝔰𝔢♥)Willowpaw looked at the poppy seed blankly, as if she couldn't understand how such a small, indescribable speck would make her feel better. She trusted Twilightpaw, however, and after looking up at the other she-cat with a softer look than her brother, she bent down and lapped up the seed. She then curled up, body heavy with a sudden exhaustion brought on by the long day and the tragedy, and began to nod off, as if the weight was too much. Minnowripple let out a reassuring purr as she saw that Willowpaw had begun to calm down, and she nosed Grovepaw gently, encouraging him to do the same. "Don't worry, I'm sure Mallowpaw will be back soon." She meowed. She then blinked as she heard a familiar voice and her ears perked as she heard Alligatorsnap outside the nursery walls. - Egretcry - in Camp - with everyoneEgretcry listened intently as the two siblings spoke, glad that Alligatorsnap wasn't crumbling despite the heavy loss he had suffered. The deputy was strong, and he was sure he would make a strong leader as well. He looked down as Lilysplash described the incident once more, a long shudder passing through him as he imagined what Puddlestar went through. He pressed his muzzle against Minnowface's flank. No cat deserved that. Especially not one as loyal and honorable as Puddlestar. The white tom lifted his head as he heard his name. "Thankfully my patrol was able to catch enough to keep the pile stocked for now." He mewed in response. "I can take another one out after we sit vigil, if you'd like." He offered. He then swiveled his head to the nursery. "Minnowripple is with Grovepaw and Willowpaw." He added, providing some context to the deputy as to where his mate was. - Lilysplash - in Camp - with everyone (@woofmallow)Lilysplash let out a small sigh of relief as things finally began to settle down with Alligatorsnap's arrival. Thank StarClan. She thought wryly. She then padded over to her brother's side and pressed her nose into his fur as a brief source of comfort. She had lost her own mentor, and she was all too familiar with the pain. "When you're done here, you should rest." She advised him, dropping her mew to a lower tone. "After we bury Puddlestar, we'll be going to have you receive your nine lives." Leaving him with that, she dipped her head and turned to move towards the nursery to relieve Twilightpaw.

Lilysplash, Mallowpaw// Leaving nursery [~Skyblaze~ @woofmallow] ♥♥✬♥♥
After being sure, that both apprentices had lapped up their poppy seeds, and began to feel its effects, the medicine cat apprentice gave a dip of her head to Minnowripple. Trusting the silver and black molly, to care for the grieving children, she pushed her way out of the nursery. As she was slipping out, she immediately spotted her mentor, Lilysplash. With a relieved sigh, she greeted the tortoiseshell and brown molly, with a touch to the nose. Her deep orange eyes, travelled around the camp, looking for Mallowpaw. "I got Willowpaw and Grovepaw to take a poppy seed. I figured the three youngest children of Puddlestar, needed the calmness, the most. Both seemed to be in such distress. Minnowripple is watching over them, she's doing a good job." She paused, gaze resting on the third sibling, of the litter. "I think I will take Mallowpaw, this last poppyseed, and urge her to join her siblings. They need each others presence."
As she was speaking, she waved her tail to the young white molly. her eyes filling with a softness, for the apprentice. She urged Mallowpaw to come to her, hoping that the young cat would listen to her. Twilightpaw, herself, was only just an apprentice. Why should anyone listen to her.? She couldn't imagine, the pain the other apprentices were going through. She herself, had never had to go through this. She showed nothing but warmth and sympathy, for the clan, grieving around her. As any medicine cat would do, she pushed her own sadness away, at the death of a clanmate, to take care of the ones that were in the most pain. ♥♥✬♥♥
The little white and grey molly, could hardly hear the world around her. She'd calmed herself enough, for the sobs and cries, to fade away. Now, she just lay by her mothers side, her tongue smoothing the fur, and washing away any blood. Her nose wrinkled, from the scent of gator, making her ears flatten slightly. Soft murmurs, rolled from her mouth, as she cleaned Puddlestar, as if she was speaking to her. She very faintly could hear the orders from Alligatorsnap, telling them to gather the elders to get the leader ready for her vigil. Part of her wanted to do this alone, the other part of her was grateful that the elders would be here to help. One being her aunt, Craneflight. The other, being Goldensnarl. One who had watched the once great leader, become just that.
Her heart beating, so hard against her chest, the warrior felt as if the whole world could hear it. Why did this have to be so hard.? Why did she feel so alone, at this very moment. She knew she had so many in the clan, but the darkness of her mothers death, made her forget of everyone else. She couldn't help but feel some gratitude, that Puddlestar, had chosen such a strong deputy. One that would take over her position, well. Even though the cost of him becoming the next leader, came with a great cost. ♥♥✬♥♥
Scanning the camp, Minnowface gave Egretcry, another nuzzle, before standing to her paws. She dipped her head respectfully to Alligatorsnap. She couldn't help but feel so much respect, for her soon to be leader. Her eyes glowed that respect, as she spoke. "Is there anything that I can do to help, Alligatorsnap.?" She felt useless at the moment, just sitting around. She felt the loss of her leader, as much as any of her clanmates might. But one thing Minnowface hated, was sitting and thinking of the loss. She preferred to keep herself busy, focusing on her clanmates. It made her heart hurt less. Made her mind stop spinning.
Goldensnarl ♥♥✬♥♥
Goldensnarl hadn't needed to be fetched to do prepare Puddlestars body for its vigil. He'd just caught that part of the conversation. Following his nose, to the scent of his denmate, Craneflight, he gave her a gentle nudge. Apology thick in his voice, he spoke. "I'm sorry to interrupt your conversation. But it's time for us to prepare Puddlestar. Let us go and help Littlefeather." The elderly tom hated to have to push Craneflight. This was her sister, after all. But the tom couldn't get to the leaders body, without the assistance, of his denmate. Or anyone at that matter. His sense of smell, and his fading hearing, was all her had to guide him. With all the chaos, he needed a little help, manuvering around.
♥♥✬♥♥
Cowering down, as anger burst from the gray tabby tom, fear filled the molly's green eyes. She could only imagine, the pain and anger, Puddlstar's kits were feeling right now. But this..This wasn't her fault. Fur bristling along her spine, eyes wide as they could go, Maplefall pressed herself to the ground. Keeping her ears, completely flat against her head, she spoke, stuttering horribly. "I..I'm..S..So..So..Sorr..Sorry, Sto..Stormcall.." She watched him, fearfully, almost afraid he would take his anger out on her. "I..I'm just..Te..Telling you..What Co..Copperf..Copperflare told us..He..He's the...One tha..That brou..Brought her body ba..back."
Open // Hiding/Watching ♥♥✬♥♥
To say that Leopard hadn't enjoyed watching Puddlestar's throat be torn by a gator, would be a lie. The rogue had quite enjoyed leading the giant creature, to help Copperflare with his plan, to exterminate the pesky leader of his clan. She only wished that she could've sunk her claws into the precious "Mother" of the tom she had grown to enjoy. But, as she had promised, Copperflare, she would let him, enjoy the death of the gray molly. It hadn't been hard to lead the gator where she wanted it. Away from the swamps. All she had to do was tease it with her presence. Keeping close enough for it to want her, but far enough away, that she could escape if it lunged at her. Then she easily slipped away, as it caught the sight of Copperflare and Puddlestar. From there, Copperflare took over, in letting the gator finish what he had started.
Eyes gleaming, the long-furred seal point molly, perched up in a cypress tree, hidden amongst a hole in the trunk. She cleaned her long fur, making it silky and clean again. Her blue eyes flashed, ears pricked as she listened and watched the confrontation between Maplefall and Stormcall. She knew the clan, only by the various encounters of her watching them, and Copperflare explaining each member of his clan, to her. Flexing her claws, and digging them into the bark around her, she narrowed her eyes, focusing on Maplefall. The pathetic molly, crouching before the angry tom, looked so easy to kill. Such easy prey, she could be.

Craneflight - camp - with Fogwhisker and Goldensnarl
Craneflight jumped as she was nudged, noticing Goldensnarl for the first time. Guilt stabbed her for not noticing him earlier. She wondered if anyone had explained to him what had happened; as Goldensnarl's only denmate, she ought to have looked for him sooner, but Puddlestar's death had shaken her. "Of course," she said quickly, with an apologetic smile at Fogwhisker. "Fogwhisker, please excuse us."
Realising that Goldensnarl wanted her to guide him, she laid her tail gently across his back and began to cross the clearing, her paws as heavy as stone. She didn't want to be the one burying her younger sister. It ought to be the other way around - Puddlestar was the one with nine lives for StarClan's sake. But she couldn’t let Goldensnarl carry out the grim duty alone.
Sootspeck - swamp - near Leopard
Sootspeck pounded along the mud path towards the swamp, searching for Stormcall and Jaymask. Catching a whiff of Stormcall's scent, his pace quickened, his gaze darting around the surrounding cypress trees. And then his eye caught on something high above - a glint of blue eyes. Sootspeck froze. The image disappeared when he blinked, but he knew what he'd seen. Someone was up there - someone he didn't recognise. Which meant... Too scared to speak or even move, he stood as still as stone, blinking upwards.

Mallowpaw Mallowpaw had managed to push through the entrance, but stopped in her tracks when she saw the large group of cats, huddling over something. She knew what that something was, and her ears starting to ring. Then, something caused a haunted look to cross over the young cat’s face. Mallowpaw remembered all the times she used to lash out at her mother, because she was frustrated. She knew that Puddlestar was aware her daughter loved her. Mallowpaw loved her mother so much. She was there sometimes, when Mallowpaw had no one else and was stuck moping. And with that thought, she let out a sob, and ran weakly over to her mother. She leaned down, and got low to the ground, pressing her muzzle against her mother’s shoulder and trying so hard to bite back the tears. To no avail. She looked back at Twilightpaw, tears in her eyes, and grimacing like a poor kit in pain. What causes a kit more pain, than mama being gone...? -mallow,at camp

( I'm back, sorry for not being on much today, I felt kinda sick and needed to rest. I have some questions for everyone now though.. 1. Who does everyone think should be the next deputy? Should we have a few applicants and then put up a poll or...? 2. Also, I've been fiddling with the idea of turning this into an actual clan, since the idea is kinda cool, and I wanted to know what you all thought. I can leave it just like this if you guys would rather though ~ )

(No worries Blu, take as much rest as you need! ^^ As for your questions: 1. I personally would just say pick whoever you'd like/think would be the best, otherwise then yeah maybe a couple cats could be nominated and go from there? 2. I've personally already been just treating it like a Clan since my characters have been established from the beginning)

(Glad you got some rest and hope you’re feeling better already! For 1- Depending on if you want it to be one of your own characters so you can still lead the clan if something happens to Alligatorsnap, as you're the founder, I’d say... go with someone smart. Super duper smart, someone who can figure out this mystery of the blood on Copperflare’s paws. For 2- I’d love to see that! However you wanna do it, we’ll all follow in your pawsteps! You’ve done an awesome job and allowed us all to have so much fun with this so far!)
