( sorry I wasn’t on yesterday at all. Work was stupid crazy and then my kiddo was even crazier 😅 I promise to get a starter up after I get off work today ! )

Flame bursted from the doors for the secret library, the smell of smoke rolled around as the sound of metal clashing against metal pierced the air. Cries for help sounded but fell on deaf ears. A dark figured made its way from the library’s doors and slipped silently into the shadows.
The Hokage slept peacefully in her room. The world was at peace and all she had to worry about was paper works.. until the door bursted open and a black figure stood in the door way. Jolted awake at the sound, the Hokage grabbed the kunai that laid under her pillow and aimed it towards the figured. “who are you?!” She called out to the dark figured. It didn’t answer, only took a step into her room. She threw the kunai but it found it mark in the door frame right behind the figure. A dark chuckle came from the figure as black snakes seemed to seep out from beneath it,” I am -“. The figure was cut off as the Hokage stood blasted the man with a gust of wind.
Getting knocked back against the wall, the figure regained its balance. As the Hokage took aim once more it was too late. The black snakes slithered around her arms enabling her to complete the hand signs. She cried for help as the figured crept closer. It seemed like hours had passed as it made its way across the room and to the foot of the Hokages bed. A snake had wrapped around her throat cutting off her cries for help. The figure slipped a kunai from his sleeve as place it on her neck, the cold metal sent chills down her spine. “Long live the Hokage,” rasped the dark figure , but just before he could continue several ANBU ninja appeared in the door way. “STEP AWAY FROM THE HOKAGE,” one of them demanded. The figured chuckled once more, dropping the kunai and quickly producing hand motions he vanished in a fog of smoke, the snakes leaving with him.
A gasp came from the Hokages throat as she was able to breathe again. Once she regained herself she asked a report on the situation. Several scrolls of forbidden jitus have been stollen along with the attack on her life. With wild eyes she demanded,” bring me the best ninjas in the village, this person must be stopped !!”

For the most part, most of Sora's days lately had been rather slow, after the last mission they had taken they were allowed quite a couple of days off letting the shinobi catch up on some much needed rest- that is on the days they hadn't stayed up late
Today being one of those days

Sora couldn't have been asleep for more than a few hours when a knock came to their door

"Regrets, instant regrets for not sleeping early" they mumbled as they rubbed their eyes and answered the door

They were beyond surprised when the door revealed an ANBU member. They didn't even get to ask what as going on for the person spoke immediately

"Come quick the Hokage requests you immediately"

(I hope this is good, I'm honestly so excited because of that starter :3 )

Kalica was already standing in the Hokages office as the other two walked in. His eye roamed the room taking in his surroundings, he gave a quick glance at the other two making mental notes as he did so. Looking back at the Hokage , he studied her serious expression.
He was having his morning tea when an ANBU had appeared at his door way. No words were exchanged between the two, only a single head node and Kalica being handed a note that read “your presence is needed at the Hokages office.” A sigh had slipped through his lips at the notes but he had finished what he was doing and got ready.
Now he stood with two others in a room that was lined with four ANBU. ‘ this must be serious ,’ he thought as he studied the masked ninja standing motionless around the Hokage. Being pulled by his thoughts by the sound of her speaking, he refocused his eyes on her, she was standing now her brows furrowed. “I have summoned you three here today because you are the top elite within this village. There was an attack on the library of jitsu last night. Several scrolls of forbidden, dark jitsu were taken,” she picked up a few pieces of paper to look through them. “Very dangerous jitsu indeed, this would be detrimental if in the wrong hands.”
The Hokage steppes out from behind her large wooden desk to stand before the chosen three, “there was also an attempt to take my life. I didn’t get a good look at him before ANBU showed up but from the jitsu he used we were able to narrow down a list of 10 people of potential suspects.” She handed them each a thin stack of papers.
Flipping through the papers , Kalica studied the faces and information of the people in question as he listened.
Giving them a moment to look , she cleared her throat and walked back behind her desk, “I’m trusting you three will be able to complete this timely mission. We must take action before the balance and peace in the world comes to an end.” Her eyes traveled along the three,” is there any questions?”

The red-haired woman offered both of the other jonin a big grin and a small wave as she walked in, she'd be the last to arrive having protested getting off the floor for so long. She looked like she had really no care that the situation was as serious as it was, though she knew very well it was, she just didn't like being that serious. Standing in front of the Hokage she took note of the four ANBU standing in the room, with that many in there, it had to be bad.

She took the papers and thumbed through them, noting the villages and something small she could remember about the said suspect. Her eyes drifted to the Hokage, "Yeah, you can count on us," Gema paused looking at the Hokage once more, "Judging by the bruise patterns on your neck and arms, snakes right?" Her head tilted, she still looked sweet and honestly kind of like she didn't have a brain in her head but she did. "And a question. Damages? None to your room to get in? Whoever did this has information, be it from previous experience or someone feeding it to them. You don't just know where valuables like forbidden scrolls and the Hokage reside. That's not shared information." Gema said with a shrug of her shoulders. "Meaning no disrespect with my next statement," She smiled apologetically at the four ANBU memebers in the room, "but I recommend looking into some of our own, when someone gets that close without ANBU even knowing you can never be too careful." Smiling once more she turned to the other two. "Unless you've got anything else you two need to ask I'd say we are ready?"

Once they were out of the Hokages office, Sora stretched their arms in circles as they thought, "Well whoever it was couldn't have gotten very far.... But I am very curious on that Alamar guy. Do you think maybe he had any friends in the village or something that could give us more details?"

It could be a little far fetched but Sora would've hated to run out of the village right away if there was a few clues that could still be in the village

Kalica eyes Sora as Gema held out the paper that the Hokage handed special to Gema. Snatching it for Sora could, he scanned over it. Alamar definitely looked like the criminal that would do this sort of thing. “ well if I’ve ever seen a criminal that’s what he’d look like,” he thought out loud. After giving it another look over he handed it to Sora giving a small smile and shrug as to say sorry for taking it first. “ My name is Kalica by the way since we’ll be working together.”
“That’s true but I also have a feeling if they had found anything here they would have let us know,” he put his hands in his pockets as they walked the village streets. “But you’re right about the friend thing. We could start with speaking to an ANBU that worked with him or even his sensei.”

(I think so, get some answers on this ex Anbu and probably go investigate him as well as other suspects along the way right?)

Gema tilted her head, a small nod, "You are right Anbu usually keep a close track of things like that." Hearing him mention a sensei was even better, if anyone knew anything it would be them. "I agree, starting with his Sensei would be the best thing to start with. And, their house isn't too far from here right? It should be on the paper." The red-haired woman leaned over glancing at it as they walked.

This was going to be interesting to say the least, she'd never been on a mission or really anything with these two, though she had heard about them both. Both quality ninjas, she knew that much. Why had they been chosen though, not just the other two but her as well, what made the Hokage and Anbu think they'd work well together. She guessed they could only hope right? And play nice of course.

Sora couldn't help but be slightly disappointed at hearing the ANBU member say that the sensei had passed not too long ago
"Well there goes that plan is right, guess it's best to head out then yeah" they sighed stretching their arms again


As they started walking back out again Sora couldnt help but get a little twitchy, 'I wonder what kind of jutsu those two use.... I also wish someone would say something'

Almost on cue Kalica had asked a question Sora almost missed
"Maybe there was something keeping him from doing it?" Sora scrunched their eyebrows together in thought
"What do you think Gema? Just another power hungry fool?"

Kalica took heed of Gema word as quickly removed the headband and placed in within his pocket for now. Placing his other hand in the other pocket he gave a little shrug,” respect could be a factor. Or this guy is more intelligent then we anticipated.” He looked straight head as they walked, no emotion on his face really, just a blank expression rested upon his features. “But who ever this guy is we must be prepared for what he has. He was ANBU and he’s rouge for a reason.”

Just over the hill the three came upon the village laid before them. It was a decent size, busy with what looked like slightly friendly people. A guard was sitting in the watch at the front of the entrance but by the look of it .. he was asleep.

Kalica inwardly sighed at the sight of the guard but spoke softly just enough for the other two to hear, “ well easy getting in but looks like the village don’t have best defense systems here. “
