Cinderflame In an affectionate gesture, Cinderblaze ran her tail gently down Spookypaw's back. She wasn't sure if most of the clan saw this, but she was almost certain that Snowybeetle did. She even joined in the chanting of Spookypaw's name. She paused her chanting for a moment to tell Spookypaw, "You can ask me anything.", only a little louder than when she instructed Spookypaw to touch noses. She wanted to be as good a mentor as possible, and this was only the first of the ways she would. She then resumed her chanting.

Twitterpaw in camp - with Spookypaw and Cinderflame ยปยป---------------------------ยซยซ There was no other way to wake up than on the bright side, in Twitterpaw's opinion. Sleep was honestly a chore anyhow and the excitement that built up in her stomach didn't make rest easy. It was only her third day as an apprentice after all, she was fresh out of the nursery and eager to learn everything and anything. Not only that, but there had been a stranger in their camp last night! That was a fascinating subject to the young apprentice, who'd never met an outsider before. She wondered about his life before he'd wandered onto their territory and if he planned to stay. A huge part of her hoped the tom did stay, it would mean another potential friend!
Her curiosity about the black furred feline led her gaze to lock on the fluffy tom. Twitterpaw let her head tilt to the side momentarily, as though she were in deep thought, before she rushed forwards, only to be interrupted by Snowybeetle calling a clan meeting. Feeling put out, the tortoiseshell molly heaved a sigh, plopping down to pout up at her leader questioningly. What could their leader possibly have to announce so early in the morning? Unless... had she found out that Twitterpaw had forgotten to fetch fresh moss for the elders yesterday? Would Snowybeetle be demoting her back to a kit? Guilt and panic settled like a stone in her stomach, weighing her down heavily. Twitterpaw hadn't meant to forget, honest. It had just slipped her mind, as many tasks tend to do.
The energetic she-cat let out a quiet mew of relief when her name was merely called to be on patrol. A hunting patrol no less! Her excitement returned tenfold at the idea, her small body nearly trembling with it. She leaped to her paws without hesitation, bouncing towards Thornwhisker. Twitterpaw paused when the leader mentioned the newcomer, her orange eyes shifting between the snowy furred molly and the black furred tom. A new apprentice, just like her! Well, not quite like her, but still! "Spookypaw! Spookypaw!" she cheered, before bounding over to bombard her new den-mate with all sorts of questions pinging inside her mind.
"Hi Cinderflame, and you must be Spookypaw... I mean obviously you are, seeing as Snowybeetle just introduced you to everyone! Welcome to Beetleclan, you're going to love it here, really, no lie. Oh!" the apprentice suddenly cut herself off, nearly bringing a paw up to lightly hit her face. She had yet to introduce herself! "I'm Twitterpaw! You know, like the twitter of a bird? That's what my mom said anyway. I think it's a silly name. But Spookypaw is so cool! It sounds dangerous, like you could take on 10 Waspclan cats single pawed! That would be quite the feat, huh?" she was wide-eyed from her musings, a friendly smile on her face as her tail waved slowly back and forth behind her. She felt like she was forgetting something... but it must not be that important or she wouldn't have forgotten... right?
Lupinescar in camp - open ยปยป---------------------------ยซยซ Sleep hadn't been coming too easily to him these past few moons, instead he would toss and turn restlessly in his nest until he gave up even trying. Lupinescar had been settled outside the warriors den, having finished grooming his pelt hours ago. His amber eyes slid down to his paws, examining them as they flexed into the soft grass beneath him. Exhausted didn't begin to cover the bone-deep weariness he felt and still the tom could find no peace. He didn't look up as others began to wake, moving about camp as he sat in silence, his thoughts tree-lengths away.
It wasn't until Snowybeetle hopped up on one of the rocks that rested around their Green-leaf camp and summoned the clan for a meeting of sorts. The silver tabby main coon angled his head in the direction of his leader but didn't move from the spot he occupied. There was shade here at least, over there it was only the morning sunlight, which grew steadily stronger by the moment. His thick coat definitely made that uncomfortable for him. Lupinescar noticed he hadn't been put on any patrols but resigned himself to a solo hunting party or maybe seeing if anyone needed anything around camp. He refused to just lay around and laze, especially since sleep was unfortunately off the table for him.
His intense amber eyes slid to Spookypaw, the former kitty-pet as Snowybeetle made him an official member of their clan. His tufted ears twitched once but no emotion showed on his face. No matter what he thought of the small fellow, it wasn't his decision to make. Lupinescar respected his leader enough to understand that. Lifting a heavy paw, he lapped at it carelessly, his attention drifting around - wondering what exactly he would get up to today.

Spiketuft - - In camp with Thornwhisker - - | | @wonderfulalexander "Hey, Thornwhisker man, mind lending me some of that energy?" The Somali groaned after rubbing his eyes with the back of one paw. It was clear that the tom was nearly about to pass out, his ungroomed fur (well, that was nothing new for Spiketuft) and saggy eyes clear indicators. "Seriously man, you sneaking some catnip from the medicine cats den?" His voice, though groggy was playful. He shot the white tom a lazy grin, then stretched out each limb individually. The new warrior had an ego that could rival the older warriors, on paper it seemed the two should be best buds. But often, big personalities tend to clash. After all, if Spiketuft thinks he's the best dude ever, then Thornwhisker can't think that he is the best dude ever. "Where you hidin' the goods?" He teased, trotting over towards him.
Spookypaw - - In camp with Cinderflame and Twitterpaw - - | | Brokenstar , little blu โฅ When the cheering died down, Spookypaw turned his eager eyes onto his new mentor. The overbearing dread that had once filled his heart had been at least temporary replaced by a sense of belonging, and excitement! Prior to this, the most exciting thing he had done was manage to get on top of the refrigerator at his old home. There was so much to clan life he didn't know, and he found himself wanting to know. Just as he was about to open his mouth to ask his new mentor his first question, he was cut off as Twitterpaw snapped towards him as quick as a bullet. He whipped his head towards Twitterpaw, his body shrinking back, startled! He watched her mouth move as she rambled out her words faster than his going heart-rate. The quiet tom listened, his mouth slowly opening the more and more she spoke. Until finally, after a gap in her words, he managed to get out a pitiful little; "Oh... H-Hi..." His gaze darted nervously to the ground as he began to shuffle his paws.
He found himself to shy to look back up at her, as his mind began to race once more. She seems so fun! But I don't know how to talk to her... What do I even say? What's a WaspClan cat? Why is everything here named after bugs?! Oh, say something! I don't want her to think I'm rude! His his was buzzing! He quickly coughed out some more words, looking up to her in intervals of .5 seconds before snapping his gaze back down. "I like your name... I think it's really cool too!" There was an optimistic chirp at the end of his words.

Thornwhisker- ๐๐ข๐ค๐ต๐ถ๐ด๐ฃ๐ญ๐ฐ๐ฐ๐ฎ ๊ค Thornwhisker was familiar with Spiketuft and his hamminess, and smirked- even if some found Thornwhisker annoying, at least he could put himself to work, unlike Spiketuft's youthful hedonism. It was to be expected of such a young cat- perhaps Thornwhisker could teach the red tabby something today. "I call my catnip a good sleep schedule. Perhaps you would like to try it?" Thornwhisker nodded towards the dawn's pale, dewy light. "After all, we are diurnal creatures. More importantly, so is our prey. The pine grove is full of prey, but it's also very quick, and must be gotten to before the sun gets too high. If we wait too long, the only animals catchable by midday will be insects- which is neither easy or filling. Squirrels and grackles are a good bet- although grackles can fight back, so mind the talons." All this he rattled off like a particularly-snide encyclopedia with four legs and fur. Thornwhisker liked to monologue like this, even if he wasn't aware if anyone was bothering to listen or not. He was an expert, after all- who wouldn't want to listen?

( Sorry this took so long! I love Twitterpaw, she's... something else. cx ) Twitterpaw in camp - with Spookypaw and Cinderflame ยปยป---------------------------ยซยซ The molly was young and therefore unused to having to read social cues, instead she kind of just was a whirlwind of positivity. So, instead of backing off when Spookypaw flinched back from her, probably from being unused to so much direct - in your face attention - Twitterpaw didn't really notice. After all, that's how most cats reacted to her, though the older ones usually with much more annoyance. She was used to it. Instead she tried to smile friendlier, or something. The apprentice had a real hard time making friends, though her outgoing nature would lead one to believe otherwise. Her energy levels often were too much for those around her and many didn't know how to handle her. Still, Twitterpaw had to try, she wanted a friend - especially one with a cool name!
She couldn't help but let her chest puff out at his words, taking them as a high complement. "Really? You think so? I think it's kind of a mouthful, but so is Snowybeetle when you think about it... or Cinderflame really! Wow, our names are weird, huh? I've never thought about it like that before!" Twitterpaw giggled, sending a sunny smile to the warrior standing beside them, showing she meant now disrespect of any kind with her words. It was merely an observation! Ducking her head, she leaned in a little closer, lowering her voice as though she was telling a big secret. "So, what made you wanna join us? Was it our awesome singing abilities? My mom said I sing like a robin, but I think she just has a weird obsession with birds. Is that even a complement anyway? Like do robins even sound good? I don't even know... do you?" the young apprentice asked with a tilt of her head, a puzzled expression briefly fluttering across her face.

FALLOWSONG --
Fallowsong listened carefully to Snowybeetle as the leader handed out the dayโs assignments, giving the clan cats the duties of hunting and patrolling the territory and ensuring the apprentices were trained. As Fallowsong herself did not have an apprentice, the latter did not apply to her. When she heard her name, her ears perked forward, and she sat up a little straighter. โThornwhisker,โ the leader began, โI want you to take Spiketuft, Fallowsong and Twitterpaw to find prey. Try to sweep through the pine grove if you can; prey should be plentiful there.โ The brown she-cat dipped her head in recognition of her duties, and turned to scan the crowd, searching for Thornwhisker. Her attention was drawn back to Snowybeetle when the white cat announced that it was time to assign their newest member, Spookypaw, a mentor. Cinderflame was designated as Spookypawโs mentor, and although Fallowsong felt a slight twinge of jealousy, she was happy for Cinderflame and Spookypaw. Theyโd make a good pair, she thought, and Cinderflame would do well to help Spookypaw settle into the new world of being a clan cat. It wouldnโt be an easy transition, but heโd have the help of Fallowsong, Cinderflame and the rest of BeetleClan. โSpookypaw! Spookypaw! Spookypaw!โ Fallowsong cheered, standing to her paws to lend her voice to the welcoming cheer. With that business concluded, the brown she-cat turned to look for Thornwhisker again. He wasnโt difficult to miss; heโd padded over to Spiketuft, who was groaning in annoyance at his assignment. Fallowsong trotted over, tail held high. As she reached the pair, Thornwhisker was mid-way through another one of his tell-tale monologues. โโฆ too long, the only animals catch-able by midday will be insectsโฆโ Fallowsong tuned the rest of the lecture out, although she twitched her whiskers in amusement. Like usually, Thornwhisker was emitting the air of arrogance, like he was smartest cat in the clan. It could be a bit annoying, but Fallowsong was used to it. She flicked her tail at Thornwhisker, brushing his shoulder. โPerhaps we should get going, then? Lest we find only insects after all,โ she joked. ---
RIVERWIND --
Riverwind was awake before most of the cats of BeetleClan, as he usually was. At some point in the night, heโd crept out of the warriorsโ den and into the nursery, where his mate, Lavendersky, was currently staying. Considering she was heavy with kits โ his kits, which still blew his mind โ it was the perfect place to be. He was almost positive the rest of the clan knew about his nightly escapades, but he didnโt care all that much. Lavenderskyโs comfort was far more important to him, and as much as he loved his clanmates, his mate was granted the largest part of his heart. Besides, he slept much better curled around her.
Still, before the sun had fully risen the grey tom had left the nursery, arching his spine in a long, languid stretch. He moved until he stood near the fresh-kill pile; he nodded to Lupinescar, who was also near the fresh-kill pile. After a moment of searching he selected a piece of prey and carried it back into the nursery, placing it near his mateโs nest so that she had breakfast available when she awoke. With that, Riverwind went back outside and settled down to groom his fur while he waited for the rest of the clan to stir.
It didnโt take long; by the time Riverwindโs pelt was clean and shining, Snowybeetle had awoken, and had moved towards the large rock she used to address the clan. Of course, it wasnโt the only large rock she used โ just the one in the greenleaf camp that served that purpose best. She had other perches in the other season camps. He dipped his head in greeting to her and waited for her to begin addressing the clan.
โMay all cats old enough to catch their own prey gathered beneath me for morning assignments.โ And there it was. With another quick stretch, Riverwind gathered his paws beneath him and stood, trotting over to the clanโs leader. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Cinderflame and Spiketuft enter the camp again; the pair lingered about for a moment before approaching the quivering little tom who had joined the clan last night. Spookypaw โ a former kitty-pet. Considering that Riverwind himself was also not native to BeetleClan, he could understand a bit of the little tomโs nervousness and concern. There were days that Riverwind was still convinced members of his clan didnโt trust him, considering his MothClan parentage, but heโd done whatever he could to prove his loyalty.
โRiverwind, take Acornnose and your apprentice, Tortoisepaw and go sweep across the peripheral of the MothClan border. Remark out borders and report any sightings to me.โ
Surprise flashed through Riverwind briefly, but he hid it will, dipping his head to Snowybeetle. His heartbeat sped up a bit. MothClanโs border? Was this another test, to see if heโd return to his brother and sister in MothClan, or stay here in BeetleClan? It wasnโt even a question for him. His mate was here, and here he would stay.
The grey tom gave his pelt a shake, and then turned to the cats named as a member of his patrol. Acornnose and Tortiosepaw. He flashed them a warm look, yellow eyes twinkling with their characteristic lightheartedness. โWell, letโs get going, shall we? Weโve got borders to mark. Trees to inspect. Rocks to interrogate. Onward!โ He began to lead the way out of the camp, but paused, glancing back. โLupinescar, do you want to join us?โ

Spookypaw - - In Camp with Twitterpaw and Cinderflame - - | | little blu โฅ, Brokenstar The timid black fluff ball uncoiled a bit from his stiff, nervous stance when Twitterpaw continued to talk with as much glee and excitement as she had previously. He hadn't scared her off yet, and more so, he actually SPOKE to her and she spoke back! Now that he had done it once, it felt a little easier. He looked at her now without flinching away, his tail swishing side to side slowly. He giggled at her mention of how weird these BeetleClan names were, thankful he wasn't the only one who thought so. It was hard to jump in with a response, as Twitterpaw quickly went from one subject to the next, but it didn't annoy Spookypaw at all. Truth be told, in the short time he had met Twitterpaw he felt enamored with her, like he was a kit again looking up to the cool kids and thinking 'I wish they'd let me hang out with them.' "Oh well I actually..." He started, but Cinderflame's words reminded him that he had a job to do. He flinched back, looking up to his mentor with a guilty expression before down at his paws again.
"I guess you're right..." He murmured in response. Spookypaw looked back to Twitterpaw apologetically. "I-...I'm sorry, but I should probably go get started on my training... Ah, it was really nice to meet you Twitterpaw! Maybe we'll see each other again soon?" He perked up a bit, unaware that the two of them would be sharing a den, simply having forgotten that her, and the rest of his clan mates, would be sharing this camp together.
Spiketuft - - In Camp with Thornwhisker and Fallowsong. Mentions Twitterpaw. - - | | ๐พ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐, @wonderfulalexander, little blu โฅ Spiketuft shot Fallowsong a grin in greeting, thankful he wasn't going to be the only one here to shut down Thornwhisker's ego. Now hopefully she wouldn't shoot down his own ego. "Yeah, the sooner we catch these bugs the sooner we can get home and I can get some zzz's." He mused, giving a cursory look over the clan. He felt like they were missing something... Oh yeah! Twitterpaw. Spiketuft smiled wider, he remembered when Twitterpaw was first born, he was just an apprentice at the time and he would always come into the nursery to show off what he'd been learning. He admired Twitterpaw like he would a little sister. "Yo Twitterpaw! Stop flirtin' with your boyfriend and come join us!" He called out to her.

Cinderflame "Well, of course, you could continue to talk with Twitterpaw for a while, if you like. You do seem to need a break.", she said, seeing how she made Spookypaw feel. "In fact, Twitterpaw, how about we come with you?", she suggested, hoping it would brighten Spookypaw's spirits. She looked back to Spookypaw "That way you can get started and get to know Twitterpaw!" She called to Spiketuft, "Hey, Spiketuft! How about we come with you, that way these two can continue to talk, and I can begin Spookypaw's Tour?" She hoped he would accept, despite the way she had last talked to him.

Thornwhisker- ๐๐ข๐ค๐ต๐ถ๐ด๐ฃ๐ญ๐ฐ๐ฐ๐ฎ ๊ค โYes, Spiketuft is right,โ said the piebald tom, nodding his head in such a way that it was evident he agreed with what Thornwhisker was saying- but that he also felt it important to say it as well. โCome along, Twitterpaw. Much awaits us in the pines.โ As he led the group out of camp, he began to rattle off about prey hunting- after all, he was the expert, or at least he believed he was. โNow, in order to catch the plumpest of voles, what you have to do is hunker down in the grass around a treeโs trunk...โ

FALLOWSONG --
Like usual, Thornwhisker was rather oblivious as to Fallowsongโs efforts at getting him to stop lecturing. The brown she-cat shot Spiketuft a wink in response to his welcoming smile, letting it be known that, in the case of Thornwhiskerโs lecturing, she was on Spiketuftโs side. It was way too early for any of that nonsense, although Thornwhisker did mean well. His head was just a bit too far in the clouds for him to realize how conceited he sounded. She nodded in agreement with Thornwhisker, still pretending to go along with the piebald tom. Spiketuft turned to call out to Twitterpaw, who was the other member of their little hunting party, and Fallowsong sat down briefly as she awaited the apprenticeโs arrival, tail swishing back and forth. Twitterpaw was currently distracted by a conversation with Spookypaw, who was also still talking with his new mentor, Cinderflame. Fallowsong watched the trio for a moment, before returning her attention to Thornwhisker. She listened to him prattle on for another moment, before Cinderflameโs voice drew her gaze. โHey, Spiketuft!โ the other she-cat called. โHow about we come with you, that way these two can continue to talk, and I can begin Spookypawโs tour?โ โI see no problem with it,โ Fallowsong piped up, lending her opinion to the discussion. A mischievous light twinkled in her eyes. โTalking doesnโt lend well to hunting, though.โ Once Thornwhisker had made the decision, Fallowsong followed him out of the camp with the rest of the hunting party. Naturally, the tom began to lecture them again, going on and on about vole hunting. Fallowsong tuned him out, focusing instead on the territory around them. She opened her mouth on occasion, letting the various scents wash across her palate, and swiveled her ears, listening for any trace of possible prey. ---
RIVERWIND --
Before Riverwind could lead his patrol out of camp, he was stopped by the approach of another cat and the sound of his name. The grey tom turned in the direction of the voice, and noticed Palewing's approach. "Do you mind if I come along too?" the ginger and white tom asked. Riverwind flicked his tail in greeting and twitched his whiskers. "Not at all," he responded, in his usual cheery tone. "The more, the merrier. More of us means less of a chance of any sort of conflict with MothClan, as well." He shrugged one shoulder and flicked his tail, trying to pretend that the thought of battling MothClan didn't disturb him on a deep level. His loyalty was to BeetleClan without a question, considering it was the clan his mate (and his soon-to-be-kits) lived in, but some part of him - a small part - still held MothClan dear. He'd been born there, after all; had spent his kithood among those cats. Knew their faces, their names, their personalities - their lives, loves and wishes. To be forced to battle against those he'd spent his younger moons with... it was almost too terrible to think.
He hadn't had any contact with his siblings outside of the gatherings since he'd left MothClan, but since his absence, his sister had been named leader. He'd felt a deep swell of pride when he'd heard that news, as well as fear. Fear that his sister now led a rival clan; fear that she'd be forced to chose between her brother and her clan in some terrible situation. His brother, Talonheart, was a senior warrior, and well-known among the clans. Would he be forced to chose between his mate and the clan he'd chose, or the family and clan he'd been born into? He shuddered at the thought, but forced a cheery look for his clanmates. "Let's get going," he told the patrol. He turned and lead the way out of the camp with a slight pip to his step.
