➺ WELCOME
The forest echoes with the music of life. Birds trill and sing; insects chirp and croak. The blanket of green sways lightly in the breeze, as if dancing along. As the ground gently slopes upward, the forest grows more and more dense, with great towering oaks and deciduous trees filling in every bit of available space. Sunlight dapples the ground in a mosaic pattern, and where light illuminates the earth, more flora thrives, stems and leaves twisting upward to the hidden sky. Despite the peace, you can feel something unsettling: the distinct sensation of eyes boring into you, as if peering through fur and skin and bone to see the soul beneath.
In a flash of ashen fur, a she-cat drops from somewhere unseen, landing neatly in front of you. She studies you with burning yellow eyes. "You've strayed onto the territory of MothClan, stranger. You've two options, now: either join our clan, or leave. If you choose the latter and step so much as a whisker on our territory, you'll learn that MothClan is far stronger than we appear."
The she-cat turns halfway, peering over her shoulder at you. "So, Stranger: which will it be?"

➺ THE CLANS
Once, these lands were claimed only by a single clan, who lived with the world around them in harmony. The cats of these clans were varied, with some more athletic, choosing to test their mettle against the world around them. Others still saw value in the telling of old tales, choosing to weave legends and mysteries with their words to preserve the past. Some enjoyed song the most, using music to reflect their appreciation for their world. Others saw the value in building, in proving mastery over the natural world to lay foundations for the future.
When the cats could not reconcile their different opinions, the great clan fractured, forming four new clans. Those that valued testing their mettle against the world formed WaspClan. Those that valued preserving the past formed MothClan. Those that valued music and song formed BeetleClan. And those that valued architecture and building formed SpiderClan.
And so the four clans were born.
➺ MOTHCLAN
When the great clan split in four, those who saw values in the past banded together to form MothClan. The cats of this clan were as swift as the wind, and as aloof as the silent forest they made their home in. With small builds and eerie yellow eyes, the cats of MothClan became the ghosts of the woods, preserving their history and their past in legends and tales. MothClan chose to build their homes high in the trees, building nests and laying down the foundations in the great oak trees. There, in the mystery of the forest, MothClan found solace - and it is there they remain, as aloof and clever as the howling breeze.
We are MothClan. We move with the wind.

➺ THE TERRAIN
The main feature of MothClan's land is the vast, sprawling forest of towering trees that seems to extend from every corner of the territory. To the east of MothClan's camp, serving as one of their borders, is a wide river with a strong current. The forest is made up of a variety of trees, including cherry blossoms, oaks, deciduous, and sequoia. Spread out along the roots of the trees are various types of flora. MothClan's territory, aside from its forests, is also known for its abundance of wildflowers; although they can be found anywhere in the territory, they cluster in a wide, stretching field near the river and run its length. MothClan's territory has one notable rather large pond, surrounded by a grove of willow trees. Its other notable feature is the strange absence of any growth surrounding a near-perfect circular cluster of rocks. ➺ LANDMARKS
i. The Rushing River: Serving as the eastern border of MothClan's territory, this river is wide - far too wide to leap across - and often has a very strong current, making it relatively dangerous to swim in. There are a few locations along the river that can be used for fishing, and a few times during the year the river's current slows down drastically, making it safe to cross. Nearer to Waspclan's territory is a path of stones that can be used to reach Gathering Falls.
ii. The River of Flowers: Running along the bank of the Rushing River is a stretch of wildflowers, dotted with lavender plants and other herbs. It runs almost the entire length of the eastern side of the territory, only ending just before the Circle Stone.
iii. The Cherry Grove: In the northwestern corner of the territory, a rather densely populated group of cherry blossom trees can be found. The earth is often littered with brilliant red petals and seeds, and serves as an excellent place to find prey.
iv. The Wailing Willows: In the southwestern corner of the territory, one can find a rather large circular pool of crystal clear water surrounded by a grove of willow trees, their leaves and branches reaching out across the water. In the center of the pool is a large rock that can be used as a diving spot to go fishing. No one knows where the water comes from, but the pool never seems to lessen in depth.
v. The Circle Stone: In the northeastern corner of the territory is a strange circular group of trees that surround a meadow. In the center of this meadow is a near-perfect circular collection of stones, stacked on top of each other. The strangest thing about this area is the fact that nothing seems to grow beyond the tree-line; only soft grass lines the meadow. MothClan uses the Circle Stone as a training area.
vi. The Leaping Rock: A rather large rock that juts over the Rushing River, situated just above a spot where the river's current slows dramatically. Ideal spot for fishing.
vii. The Dead Grove: A grouping of blackened, dead trees that were destroyed by a small fire years ago sits on the southern border. As it is rumored to be haunted, most MothClan cats (save particularly brave apprentices) avoid this area. Life is slowly returning to the grove in the form of small flowers and plants.

MothClan's camp is situated in a particular tight grove of oak trees, where the branches of the towering oaks have grown together such that they form platform-like structures. The main feature of MothClan's camp is the fact that it extends upwards vertically, rather than horizontally; at the lowest levels are the elder's den and the nursery, while at the highest level are the leader's den and the medicine cat den. MothClan cats tend to use soft mosses, bird feathers, and large leaves as nest-making materials. Outside the medicine cat's den is a dip in a wide branch that collects rainwater and serves as a spot to get cool, clean water.
i. Leader's Den: At the highest rung of the grove is the leader's den. Nestled in a wide hollow of an oak, this den is tall enough for even MothClan's tallest cat to stand comfortably. The den stays nice and cool during the summer and remains relatively warm during the winter. A natural bump in the hollow serves as the perfect spot to place a nest.
ii. Medicine Cat's Den: In the largest hollow, on the rung below the leader's den, is the medicine cat's den. In the heart of the widest oak in the grove, a hollow extends, wide enough for five cats to lay side-by-side with a bit of wiggle room to spare. In front of the medicine cat's den is a dip in a particularly wide branch that collects rainwater. A smaller hollow in the back of the den serves as the perfect place to store herbs.
iii. Warriors' Den: On the rung below the medicine cat's den, a wide series of branches, overlapping together and sheltered above by an outgrowth of the trees, is the warriors' den. Although not located within the tree trunk itself, the warriors' den is centered in a curvature of the trunk's growth and is sheltered from the wind and weather.
iv. Apprentices' Den: Below the warriors' den is the apprentices den, which is also nestled in a curvature in the tree's trunk, although it is smaller than the warriors' den and opens up into a tiny hollow towards the back. Several branches growing together serve as an excellent ladder to reach the warriors' den above.
v. Elders' Den: On the lowest rung of the grove is the elders' den, which is a wide hollow that stays particularly warm throughout the year. The top of the hollow slopes upward, allowing for good ventilation. It is this structure that collects the warm air and keeps the den cozy through the seasons, making it ideal for an elders' den.
vi. Nursery: Just across from the elders' den, reached via a large branch connecting two trees, is the nursery. Although it is on the lowest rung, the nursery is well protected by a ring of branches and twigs that have grown and been woven to serve as an entrance. Like the elders' den, the hollow's ceiling forms a curve, holding warm air and keeping the den's climate relatively stable through the year.

➺ THE SOLSTICE FESTIVALS
Twice a year, on days preordained by our ancestors and the powers that be, the four clans come together in momentous celebration. The celebrations are hosted at the Waterfall, but each clan attends and brings not only a share of prey, for all the clans to feast on, but a host of cats – from the wiliest kits to the most sagacious elder – to enjoy the festivities. Cats often decorate their pelts with berry juices. The different colors represent the changing of the seasons.
Green Day – the summer solstice festival takes place during the day. Each of the four clans puts on a show displaying their talents, and individual members of the clans are encouraged to prepare independent shows that they can put on for small audiences throughout the day. It’s a great social event. Fun competitions are put on between the apprentices, similar to carnival games, where they accomplish silly but fun tasks like collecting leaves and throwing pine-cones. The last event of the festival is a giant feast. It ends at sundown.
The Longest Night – the winter solstice festival takes place during the night. The events of the longest night are similar to Green Day, except rather than a theme of abundance and plenty, at the Longest Night the theme is perseverance and spirituality. The Longest Night puts the medicine cats at the center of the stage; the clans still preform, yet these performances are usually about history and mysticism. Cats typically use berry dyes to color their coats cool shades, such as blue and purple. A feast is hosted at sunrise.
➺ THE GAMBIT
Once every three moons, the four clans come together for a friendly inter-clan competition called the gambit. It’s basically a triathlon, where each clan nominates two of their best apprentices who complete three challenges: a climbing challenge, a running challenge, and a jumping challenge. The challenges are slightly different for every gambit, and the deputies come together, typically the gathering before each Gambit, to decide what the challenges should be this time. The challenges are designed so that each cat has an equal opportunity to succeed, and even challenges that seem to favor one clan may have tricks that certain cats can use, if they can figure them out, to get ahead.
➺ THE FLOWER FESTIVAL
On the first day of spring each year, when the wildflowers that sprout all across MothClan's forest are first visible, the cats have a day of revelry. Each cat gathers as many wildflowers as possible and decorates the camp, weaving the flowers through the branches of the grove to create a beautiful sight welcoming the beginning of Newleaf and the rebirth of the forest that follows. Cats also tend to add flowers to their pelts and tails if possible. The festival ends, as most MothClan festivals do, with stories and enjoyment and laughter shared between clanmates.
➺ THE QUIET NIGHT
Along with the Solstice Festivals, MothClan cats also hold their own ceremonies on the winter solstice. For the entirety of the night just before the winter solstice, MothClan cats hold a silent vigil, reflecting on the year's events, thinking up stories and myths of the particularly notable events. When the sun rises, the MothClan cats gather just outside the warrior's den and share in revelry, telling stories and sharing legends that were created through the night. The Longest Night festival follows shortly after, in which the MothClan cats join the rest of the clans in celebrating the winter solstice.

i. Please be kind and courteous to everyone! We're living in wild times so be respectful to your fellow humans.
ii. Literacy: These clans are semi-advanced, meaning we expect upwards of 2 paragraphs per post. They can be longer or shorter depending on the situation, though. Scenes with heavy dialogue can be shorter if needed. iii. Keep things mostly realistic! Okay, having an advanced society of sentient cats living in the wild requires a certain suspension of disbelief. But please no green or purple pelts, superpowers, or otherwise unrealistic events (besides interactions with Starclan and so on).
iv. Avoid "powerplay" as best you can. This means limiting your writing to your own characters' actions and perspectives. Please do not write for a character that is not your own.
v. Be as active as you can! The real world is much more important, but if you do not anticipate having the time to participate and roleplay, then it is probably not the best idea to join.
vi. Get involved! This means plotting, creating drama within rp, making connections between your characters and others in the clan, etc. It's much more fun when these things are happening.
vii. That being said, do not put too much on your plate. Only make as many characters as you can handle (especially if you are joining more than on clan).
viii. We are inclusive of all identities here!
ix. Please follow the forum rules, of course.

➺ LEADER
GRAYMOTH48 moons, female Physical Description: Slim, rather petite she-cat with a short, dense coat of ashen grey fur. Bright yellow eyes, longer than average tail (for MothClan), long whiskers.
Personality Description: Like most MothClan cats, aloof and somewhat mysterious. Good at reading others, although she is sometimes difficult to read. Deeply loyal to her clan, but a strong moral compass can sometimes get in the way of clan politics. Mothering, but stern.
➺ DEPUTY
CHARACTER NAMEage in moons, gender Physical Description: (in a brief paragraph, describe what they look like)
Personality Description: (in a brief paragraph, describe how they act) ➺ MEDICINE CAT
CRICKETLEAP24 moons, female @fallownose
Physical Description: This small, slender she-cat has golden tabby fur with light brown dapples across her back. She has large amber eyes and more dappled spots on her face like freckles. Despite her petite appearance, Cricketleap hides a lot of strength in her legs and is able to leap very far, much like her namesake.
Personality Description: Cricketleap tends to be very upbeat on the surface, and thoroughly enjoys making other cats happy. Other cats sometimes view her as ditzy as a result, and question her capability as the Clan’s main medicine cat at such a young age. However, she is very determined to do her best and prove herself to her Clanmates. ➺ MEDICINE CAT APPRENTICE
APHIDPAW7 moons, male
Physical Description: It's no secret in the clan that Aphidpaw is a medicine cat apprentice because he has zero physical intelligence. He is clumsy, uncoordinated, and slow. He couldn't catch a ball of moss if you threw it between his paws. He is pretty cute, though. He is small for his age, with a scrawny build and big yellow eyes. His pelt is charcoal gray and white, with splatters of cream on his face, flanks, and ears.
Personality Description: Aphidpaw is an anxious little fellow. He is irrationally afraid of many things such as lightning, strong winds, and dark places. In other words, he's not really cut out for traipsing through the woods all day. He is, however, a gentle soul who cares for all living things. He has a good mind for memorizing facts and plant names. This makes him a nice little medicine cat apprentice, even if his attention span is incredibly short.
➺ SENIOR WARRIORS
TALONHEART48 moons, male Physical Description: Large tom with a dense, rather fluffy coat. Grey tabby coloring, white paws and hazel eyes. Long claws.
Personality Description: Despite his intimidating appearance, considering he's a large cat, and his name, Talonheart is a big softie. He likes to joke, doesn't take much too seriously, and isn't easily riled. Still, threaten his clan or another cat that he considers under his protection, and you'll find that Talonheart can back up his appearance easily.
✧✧ MOTTLEBLAZE56 moons, male Physical Description: Mottleblaze is a board shouldered wiry dark ginger tom with amber eyes. He has a white underbelly, muzzle and tail tip and a dark stripe pattern runs through his fur. Mottleblaze has a large scar on his right shoulder and two nicks in his left ear.
Personality Description: While Mottleblaze is loyal to the clan, he is also known to be quite aggressive and he's always seems to be looking for a fight. Mottleblaze is very serious, fierce, and ambitious. He is fearless and courageous in battle, but he is also extremely arrogant and allows his ruthless ambition to drive his actions. Mottleblaze's ambition also drives him to be respected or feared by others, and to wanting to be leader or deputy - he doesn't care which position he gets as long as he's leading over other cats. Mottleblaze refuses to back down from any challenge and is also willing break the rules himself if it suits his own personal agenda.

WILDHONEY28 moons, female
Physical Description: Wildhoney is a petite she-cat, more so even than she looks because of her fluffy pelt. This much is evident when she bounds weightlessly over branches and curls up into a tiny ball when she sleeps. She has a mostly white pelt with splashes of ginger across her back, head, and tail. She has proportionally large paws and bright blue eyes.
Personality Description: This she-cat is pleasant to be around. She is very non-confrontational, and rarely gets into disagreements with her clan mates. She is grounded and does not often express anxieties or frustrations. Her flaws are that she is rarely the first to volunteer for things (she might be called a bit lazy) and she has an lifelong dislike for large birds, and is prone to chasing geese for no reason.
✧✧
TATTEREDTAIL24 moons, male @wonderfulalexander
Physical Description: A bright ginger-and-white tom, with a look of youthfulness to his face. He has green eyes and nimble feet. The one thing that sticks out about him, however, is his tail- due to an incident in which the tom had gotten caught in a bear trap as a kit, his tail is shredded and shorter than it should be. It is unable to move and has many bald patches.
Personality Description: Tatteredtail is inquisitive- perhaps too much for his own good. He's easy to brine and can be led astray rather easily, but his heart is in the right place. He doesn't speak up much. He tends to be a bit anxious- most of which he deals with by simply ignoring the problems that are there in the first place- but he also can be an endearing optimist who genuinely wants the best for everybody. He is especially protective of kits.
✧✧
SAGEBRANCH36 moons, female
Physical Description: Sagebranch is a black smoke and white she cat with thick neck fur, a feathery tail and copper eyes. Sagebranch's underside start grey and slowly turns white at the edges; her tail is mixed with grey, white and black. Sagebranch has scar on her back left leg, a nick in her right ear and a small scar on her left cheek.
Personality Description: Sagebranch would claw someone's ears off if they approach her the wrong way. Sagebranch is firm and headstrong although she tries and means well she has a habit of being overbearing and protective; she is also rather prideful and not not willing to admit when she makes a mistake or if she's needs help. At times Sagebranch can be understanding that violence isn't the answer to everything and will try a peaceful approach to situations, also helping those in need of help. Sagebranch can be quite cheerful and friendly around cats she knows well and trusts; once past her hard shell, Sagebranch is kind and caring, staying loyal to those close to her.
✧✧
ROWANSPARK28 moons, male
Physical Description: An average sized tom with muscular legs and a thick, plumed tail. His fur is thick but almost glossy, not quite puffing outwards, instead slick and soft to the touch. He has dark russet fur that covers him nearly completely, aside from a white splotch on his throat, a single white front paw(left) and his tail-tip. A single dark amber eye settles into his face, the other having been lost due to an accident that happened early in his apprenticeship. Harsh scars cover the empty socket, permanently ruining the fur there.
Personality Description: Rowanspark is a charmer, who doesn't let his disadvantages get him down. Charisma is always something he's had an abundance of and he's not afraid to flaunt it, wearing his cheeky grins and puffed chest like they were armor. He's rather adaptable, his motto being 'work smarter, not harder.' He didn't train till he wore himself out every day, instead, he used his head and came up with solutions to living life with one eye. Commitment isn't really something that comes easily to Rowanspark, he tends to shy away from it - after most of his "friends" refused to even look at him after his accident. He doesn't really come off as all that bright, but behind his play-boy facade is a shockingly intelligent tom.
✧✧
MINNOWSHADE44 moons, females
Physical Description: Rather small and delicately built like many cats in MothClan, however her eyes are a piercing blue. Her pelt is mostly white with a gray tail and patches of pale gray tabby fur on her head, lower back, and along her flanks/legs. Her fur is quite long and fluffy, shedding a lot in the warmer seasons, and she has distinctively long whiskers.
Personality Description: Especially around cats that she does not know, Minowshade distances herself and is rather reserved. She is a hard worker and always trying to prove herself within the clan, a little bit of a workaholic as she hardly ever lets herself relax and even a bit competitive as she tries to be better than her clanmates. She is rather anxious and skeptical, always careful and thinking things through before she does something. She analyzes everything and tends to second guess the motives of others, even within her own clan, and she doesn't trust many besides herself. If somebody manages to get inside her walls they will find her to open up and be sensitive, protective, and even playful.
➺ APPRENTICES
BURRPAW15 moons, male @fallownose
Physical Description: Burrpaw is a solid black tom with spiky fur, hence his name. He has a rather small build and paws a bit too large for him, with wide green eyes. His fur is often unkempt and tangled, caught with bits and pieces of the forest around him. After an accident as a kit whereupon he fell into a thornbush while practicing tree climbing, Burrpaw pierced his right eardrum and is almost completely deaf in that one ear.
Personality Description: Intensely curious about the world around him, Burrpaw spends nearly every moment he can exploring the territory. He has a very adventurous personality, and loves to build grand fantasies in his mind. He tries hard to be everybody's friend, though is very self-conscious of his half-Clan heritage. Burrpaw can often seem overly energetic or bouncy, but when he's fixated on something in particular he exhibits extreme focus and concentration. For this reason, he is an outstanding hunter. He is very close to his MothClan mother, and desperately wants to get to know his WaspClan father better.
✧✧ SNAPPAW8 moons, male @wonderfulalexander
Physical Description: Snappaw is a short, soft-furred golden tom with a white underbelly. Despite his small stature, he is very fast. He has a face shaped like a diamond, and his eyes are a pale yellow.
Personality Description: Snappaw is confident- perhaps too much so. Competitive, atheletic, and a bit of a braggart, he loves the thrill of competition- particularly running. He is very curious, always looking out towards the horizon to see what else there is to see, and he always seems to think that he is only a moment away from grand discovery. His competitiveness and confidence can be a bit too much at times. Snappaw can easily get into trouble especially with his loud mouth and constant showboating, and he can become quite unruly when bored- but at the heart of it all, Snappaw will do anything for those he cares about.
✧✧ QUICKPAW8 moons, nonbinary @wonderfulalexander
Physical Description: A slim mostly-black cat with white paws and chest; rather short but still taller than their more squat brother. They have yellow-green eyes and an almost angular look to them, with a diamond-shaped face. Like their brother Snappaw (and as their name hints), they can be quite fleet-footed. In fact, they can usually easily outrun their brother.
Personality Description: Quickpaw is like lightning: fast, quiet on its own but often followed by its louder brother, and unpredictable. Quickpaw is often very hyper, only settling down just before they fall asleep, but despite this they don't actually talk much. When they do, even their talking is fast, and often they need to repeat their words a couple times so other cats understand. However, Quickpaw hates causing trouble, and will calm down if there's even the slightest threat of punishment. They are exceedingly loyal and want only the best for those they care about. After all, while Quickpaw is the faster sibling, they always let Snappaw win their races because they want their brother to be happy.
✧✧
DRIZZLEPAW12 moons, female Physical Description: Her sleek, fluffy coat might make her appear more suited to Waspclan at first glance, but her small stature and bright yellow eyes are all Mothclan. The molly has a lean, petite form with longer legs in comparison to the rest of her body. Drizzlepaw has snowy white fur that is patched with dark, sooty gray. These darker markings rest particularly on her back, along her spine, and down her tail. Also on the back of her neck and up over her ears, just covering the corners of her eyes.
Personality Description: Drizzlepaw is a sincere she-cat who doesn't waste time on little white-lies or deceits, seeing them as below her. She'd rather be open and truthful with others, even if this sometimes means telling others what they don't want to hear. Her empathy for others often gets her caught up in problems that aren't her own and she's not one to leave others to grieve or suffer on their own. Drizzlepaw is a bit naive, wanting to believe the best in everyone. This has gotten her hurt in the past when her father left, but she's not one to guard her heart against anyone.
✧✧
BIRCHPAW9 moons, male Physical Description: Birchpaw is a large muscular brown and white tom with thick neck fur, a feathery tail and copper eyes. Birchpaw has a white underbelly, long jagged claws, black tabby stripes, a white muzzle with three scars running across it and white chest spot; his paws are also white and his tail is a mix of brown and black with the tail tip being black.
Personality Description: Birchpaw is brave and fierce. Birchpaw can be blunt and straightforward; he doesn't care if he comes off rude to others, as he will disregard any authority, rules and challenge any cat regardless of their position. When faced with difficult challenges, his temper can get the best of him and he'll lash out at others, even his friends and family. Birchpaw doesn't like when unnecessary risks are taken and will stand against anything he doesn't believe is right or fair.

➺ QUEENS
BLUEPOOL86 moons, female @wonderfulalexander
Physical Description: She used to be a kittypet, and it shows. Bluepool is a fluffy lynx point molly with striking pale blue eyes, tending to stick out a bit among other MothClan cats. Not that this bothers her much. Age has begun to frame her face.
Personality Description: Bluepool is gentle, soothing, and something of a nostalgic presence for all those who grew up under her guidance. She is naturally curious- it was what led her away from her Twolegs and into the woods when she was just eleven moons of age- and empathetic. She has a devout belief in StarClan. She has trouble picking sides in disagreements, and age has made her more stubborn than she used to be. But at the end of the day she is always there for her Clanmates and is willing to provide anything she has- whether that's half of a mouse, a shoulder to cry on, or simply advice.

Creating MothClan (and the other four clans) was very much a collaborative effort. Many people contributed to the ideas found this roleplay, so thank you to all of them! The layout and banners for this roleplay were created by me, ℊℓоω using free images from adobe spark. Please ask me before reusing any of the images or layout in future roleplays. GRAYMOTH --
The sun was cresting over the horizon, and though the last remnants of the night still clung to the trees, MothClan’s vast forest was coming alive with the birth of a new day. Birds began to trill and sing, announcing the arrival of the sun; insects bean to chirp and call, giving the night a parting farewell. Along the forest floor, there was the sound of the tiny feet of small animals scuffling along the fallen leaves, crunching sticks and snapping twigs. Tucked away in the relative warmth and peace of her den, Graymoth woke slowly, drawn gradually out of sleep by the steady rising of the sun and sounds of the forest she loved. The gray she-cat’s yellow eyes blinked open, chasing away the last whispers of her dreams, and lifted her head, cracking her jaw open in a wide yawn. She stretched her front paws forward, flexing her paws, before she stood and unraveled herself from the soft comfort of her nest. She padded lightly out of her hollow, blinking a few times at the sunlight dappling through the forest canopy. She knelt down and peered over the wide branch she stood on, checking to see if any of her clan was awake. She let her gaze sweep the nearby forest, searching for any sort of a threat; satisfied that there were none, Graymoth straightened and began the descent down to the warrior’s den.
Amongst the four clans, MothClan’s camp was quite unique, considering that it was built vertically in a grove of trees that had grown close together. The great oaks that served as MothClan’s home had branches that had wound about each other and grown together, creating a natural sort of platforms and ladders that lent well to forming a camp for a group of cats that made their home in a vast forest. Add to that the natural hollows and dips in the branches, and you had a perfect camp. Since Graymoth’s den, as the clan’s leader, was at the highest rung, she had to descend through a few levels to reach her destination. Beneath her den was the medicine cat’s den, which was also located in a hollow in the same tree as Graymoth’s. Beneath that was the warriors’ den and the apprentices’ den, which were located across from each other in two different trees. At the lowest level was the elders’ den and the nursery, but the warriors’ den was Graymoth’s destination that morning. It was, after all, where the fresh-kill pile was.
When she landed, she saw her brother, Talonheart, emerging from the warriors’ den, along with a few other cats. The great tabby tom opened his mouth wide in a yawn before flicking his tail in greeting to Graymoth. She inclined her head and turned to greet the rest of her clanmates. “Fair morning, Tatteredtail,” the gray she-cat mewed to the ginger tom, waving her tail. “Did you sleep well?”
As a few other cats woke, Graymoth greeted them as well.

Rowanspark in camp - with Talonheart, Graymoth, & Tatteredtail »»---------------------------«« Morning had come once more, which meant it was inevitably time to wake and get on with the day. Rowanspark was much more of a night owl and loathed being woken up by the stirring of his clan mates wasn't exactly his favorite experience. His single amber eye slid open slowly, peering around the warriors den blearily, not really seeing anything. A grunt left him as he stretched out his front paws till his legs trembled, forcing back a yawn. The tom slowly sat up, taking his time and arching his back, enjoying the satisfying pop that sounded somewhere along his spine.
Rowanspark perked his ears as paws landed on the platform that held their den and the fresh-kill pile. His shoulders had tensed up, since the sound had come from his blind side, but the tom forced himself to relax. It was probably Graymoth or Cricketleap - neither of which meant him any harm. He shook himself before beginning to groom his chest and shoulder fur, as it was a bit untidy. The last thing he wanted was to appear like he couldn't take care of himself - especially in front of any mollies. Picking at a piece of moss with his teeth, he angled himself towards the conversations of others. The muffled sound of their leader's voice only proved that his guess had been correct.
Deciding not to linger any longer in the den, the russet tom slipped quietly out of the den, flashing one of his signature grins at the other cats gathering there. "Good morning all," he greeted, waving his tail in greeting. Rowanspark moved to sit beside a tired looking Talonheart - gently nudging him with his shoulder. "Need some help waking up there, bud?" the younger warrior asked, not unkindly, laughter sparking in his lone eye.
Drizzlepaw in camp - open »»---------------------------«« Curled up in her nest, fast asleep, Drizzlepaw was a bit worn out. Her tail covered her light pink nose, her flanks rising so faintly it was hard to even tell she was breathing at all. Training was difficult on every cat but as an older apprentice, the molly tended to push herself harder than she used to. Her assessment could come at any moment and the white and gray molly didn't want to be unprepared. So she'd stayed up a bit late last night, working on her hunting techniques, but now she was certainly paying for it. Drizzlepaw normally didn't sleep in but she was very soundly asleep this morning. She wasn't even having the reoccurring nightmare about her father abandoning her - which truly was a rare thing.

Cricketleap // in camp // with Rowanspark, Talonheart, Tatteredtail, and Graymoth
Cricketleap woke early, far before the sun had risen, to reorganize her herb store. It seemed as though she'd been at it for hours, but now she could hear a few of her Clanmates talking on one of the platforms below and realized that dawn must have finally arrived. With a quiet sigh, Cricketleap set down the chervil root she'd been holding and sat back on her haunches. It had been a long, sleepless night; and with the Gathering quickly approaching, she knew she wouldn't have much time to catch up on rest.
Once again, Cricketleap had dreamed of her old mentor, Littlewing. The task of reorganizing herbs was her go-to when she couldn't sleep, as it kept her mind off of her inner turmoil. It was her fault that she couldn't save him from leaving for StarClan. It had only been two moons since his untimely death; now, she was all alone with no mentor to guide her.
Well, not entirely alone, Cricketleap mused with a small smile as a spark of happiness chased away the hurt. She had her own apprentice to keep her company now - Aphidpaw! He was probably still asleep in the corner, snatching up the last few minutes of slumber like many of his Clanmates.
With one last glance at her newly organized herb store to ensure everything was in order, Cricketleap nodded to herself and carefully crept out of the medicine den. Gracefully she leapt from platform to platform, until she'd arrived in the knot of Clanmates outside the warrior's den. "Good morning!" she chimed cheerfully, hoping it would raise the spirits of her Clanmates as much as her own. "Perfect day for a Gathering, is it not?"

Burrpaw // in camp // with Drizzlepaw
Burrpaw blinked open his eyes, checking the light peeking through the trees around them to guess what time of day it was. It appeared to be dawn, but - what was that? A flash of color had suddenly swept across his vision, momentarily blocking a ray of light from above. Burrpaw blinked a few times to clear his eyesight, then slowly angled his head to look up. Perched on one of the branches just two fox-lengths above was a ginormous, vibrantly blue butterfly. Burrpaw narrowed his eyes, watching every twitch of the insect's graceful wings. Was it not scared of the sleeping cats just below it? Didn't it know that cats are most definitely not the butterfly's friends?
Fascinated by the insect's boldness, Burrpaw carefully shifted into a hunting crouch, smoothly sliding into form so that it wouldn't even notice he'd moved. It wasn't too far above him; a well-timed jump could land him directly on top of the butterfly in a heartbeat.
The blue insect suddenly flapped its wings a few times, as if preparing to lift off. Burrpaw would have to be quick - he leaned back so that all his weight was gathered in his back legs, took a deep breath through his nose, and - he leaped!
Unfortunately, he hadn't had enough time to shift his weight correctly, and instead of landing on his prey he smacked his nose directly into the branch. With a yelp Burrpaw fell back to the floor of the den and squarely on top of Drizzlepaw.
"Oof!" Burrpaw felt the air rush out of him as he collided with his Clanmate, rolling off her back and to the side. He quickly leapt to his paws the moment he recovered, fearing the worst. "I'm so so sorry! Are you okay? I didn't mean to jump on top of you, I promise!"
