About
Gwen and Liam were the perfect couple - they were best friends all their lives, and then finally began dating in high school. Everyone thought they were going to be together forever, including them. But Liam was going to move far away from their little town to go to college. It's maybe three weeks before the big move for colleges and Gwen finds out she is expecting. She chooses not to tell anyone, including Liam; instead, she starts pushing him away. Just before he left, the two got into one last final argument and ended up deciding that things would be better off if they weren't together. The two move on with their lives - Liam having found a new girl, and Gwen living and working for herself and her son.
Fast forward five years, their best friends are getting married. And lo and behold, respectively they are the maid of honor and the best man.
The Characters
The Girl Guinevere (Gwen) Blanche protective, hard working, sarcastic
Gwen is a whirlwind of a woman and her looks match the fire within. Her hair is orange and falls in loose waves to just below her shoulders, she normally has it up in some kind of braid(s) or just leaves it be as a mess. Her eyes are a green color with a dark blue almost blue outer ring and thick lashes around them. Now she is small, like 5'3 small, and thanks to years of gymnastics and dance she is thin but very well built. Like she probably could throw down and most likely would if she needed to. She is one of those people that can just walk out without makeup at feel fine, but she tends to wear at the very least mascara. Honestly though this only started cause being a mom took up the time it took for makeup, that and she likes the freckles she used to try and hide
The Guy Liam Spencer charismatic, hard working, reactive
With brown hair that's usually combed upwards, and a face that's chiseled in all the right places, Liam is far from unattractive. He has the beginnings of a small beard showing on occasion, though stays clean shaven most of the time. He's broad shouldered and fairly tall - standing at 6'3, and has almond brown eyes, pools of honey in the sunlight. Though light skinned, Liam is not the palest; no one could call him sun kissed, but perhaps he would remind a person more of someone who got blown a kiss by the sun instead
The Guy's New Girl Isis Williams generous, neat, manipulative
Isis has short black hair that curls neatly, because she makes it so. Her hair stops just above her shoulders and like the rest of her is always in place. Her big brown eyes seem to welcome you in while simultaneously judging you. She is tall, standing at about 5'9 and almost 6' in heels. Blessed with curves she is a beautiful and powerful looking woman who commands a room. She has got the real New York type business vibe to her
The Child Nicholas Blanche smart, easily excited, stubborn
It's a wonder how no one made the connection yet, the little boy has a head of messy wavy brown hair that he refuses to let his mother cut "too short" without a tantrum. He is already quite the cute little boy, his eyes match his mothers, though they are darker and lean more toward the hazel side than the green side.

i think since the kid's gonna primarily be with their mom that you should go ahead and make them, if that isn't too much to ask
they're not really a main character so i think just sprinkling them into your replies might be the best thing but honestly no clue

Dylan Gallagher | charismatic, hard working, reactive
With brown hair that's usually combed upwards, and a face that's chiseled in all the right places, Dylan is far from unattractive. He has the beginnings of a small beard showing on occasion, though stays clean shaven most of the time. He's broad shouldered and fairly tall - standing at 6'3, and has almond brown eyes, pools of honey in the sunlight. Though light skinned, Dylan is not the palest; no one could call him sun kissed, but perhaps he would remind a person more of someone who got blown a kiss by the sun instead.
itt's 12:07 and i'm tired so i'm probably gonna change everything about him in the morning, but there's the basic gist of it. summed his personality up in a positive, neutral and negative trait at the top to keep it short and simple but i realize that his description is only like 4 sentences long - sorry about thatt! totally wanted his first name to be Liam but then i realized that Liam Gallagher was the singer from Oasis lmao so he's either gonna stay dylan gallagher or be changed to liam spencer, not fully sure yet
i realize basic guy is basic but i just want to give him space to develop lmao. i'll add the flavor as we continue i promise got the seasoning in my back pocket))

also beck is one of the main characters in season one of the show “you”. id highly recommend the show if you’re ever in the mood to watch something on the darker side of things (it’s about a stalker essentially)

"Be my best man, Liam." Honestly, it was hard to say no to any person who was asking for such a thing - especially when that person was Robb. The pair had met in second grade after being kept in from recess for varying "crimes": Liam had said "dang it!" in response to the block he had pulled out in a game of Jenga causing his entire tower to fall, and Robb, for throwing a piece of paper at Jenny May's head (Liam had found out later that he had done it because he had a crush on Jenny, and thought that that was somehow the best way to get ahold of her attention. As it turned out, that most definitely was not the best way.). They had both been given earfuls from the teacher, but as it turned out, that was not all she had to give them; because come recess, the two young boys were each individually given fairly large pieces of paper, and told to do certain tasks. While Liam was assigned to write a phrase on his piece over and over again - "I will not cuss" - Robb had had to spend those twenty minutes drafting some sort of apology to Jenny May. From that point forward, him and Robb had somehow crossed all the hurdles of childhood together, and finally, after nearly sixteen whole years later, this was where they ended up - with Robb being engaged to Jenny May, and asking Liam to be his best man. "Of course, man. But answer this for me - how the hell are you getting married before me?"
That call had come two weeks ago. Had it been difficult to convince Isis to come on such an impromptu trip? Of course, and it wasn't a task that he would have wished on even his worst enemy. But finally, she had said yes, and that was what mattered. He imagined it would have been easier if he had been proposing a trip to Vegas or Los Angeles, but no - he had been asking if she'd come with him to Delaware. When he had told his mom the news of his visit, she had been overjoyed - and when he mentioned that he was bringing his girlfriend, his mother had become almost ecstatic, even. Liam remembered her putting the phone on speaker that day, and her taking it with her to go tell his dad the news. He hadn't been nearly as happy as her - in fact, he had barely even grumbled out a 'that's cool'. They had lived in the type of town where everyone knew everyone, and so, everyone knew that his parents were an odd kind of couple - Edna Spencer was the type to get overjoyed over a snail, while Andrew Spencer refused to smile at even a puppy. That was just how his parents were, though, Liam supposed. He was folding clothes now; had he been packing for a trip a few years ago, he most definitely would've been the type to just have thrown as much as he could into a bag and just leave out whatever didn't fit, but being around Isis so often was rubbing off on him, it seemed. When he had first moved to New York, he had been - for lack of a better term - a mess. From an outside view, he didn't seem like much of a law student in the slightest. It had been a rough time for him, he remembered - he had been fresh out of a rough break up, had nearly no money to his name, and was in an entirely new city - living off of top ramen (which you could get a pack of five for a dollar at some nearby gas station) and tap water. His room mate had been a slob who gloated over every grade he got - hanging the times he had gotten a better score than Liam over his head for months and months on end. His life had shifted when he finally had the means to move out, but it took a complete 180 the day he had met that black haired woman at the coffee shop he was looking to get employed at. Liam couldn't say that he owed the abrupt shift in his life purely to Isis, but she most definitely had a lot to do with it. And yes, they had met in a small coffee shop - cliche, but it was cute nonetheless.
Finally, he zipped up his bag and brought it outside. Though yes, he had folded his clothes, Liam never did quite grow out of his procrastinating habits. But hey, if it worked, then it worked; Liam chose to see things in a "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" kind of way. He picked up Isis' bags quickly and put them cautiously into the trunk of his car. Had he been the reason that one of her garments got creased, he would never have heard the end of it, and quite frankly, he actually wanted to be able to enjoy his best friend's wedding. He opened the door for Isis like he always did, waiting for her to be completely inside the car before shutting it quickly; then he made his way over to his own side. As his seat belt buckled and the engine started up, he couldn't help but place his head on the car window, a soft sigh escaping from smiling lips.
He was going home.

The wedding was just a little over a week away and almost everything was in place thanks to Gwen. Of course that was why Jenny May had asked her to be her Maid of Honor. The two girl's had been insuperable in high school and knew everything about each other. Well, almost everything. It was just the finishing touches on the plans and seating charts and what not that needed to be run by the almost newly weds. The dress was almost read to pick up from the seamstress last minute adjustments to the fit and all that fun stuff that she'd made sure happened. If Jenny May got stressed out everyone would be stressed out, Gwen loved her but she was the biggest bridezilla ever.
Laying in her bed the red haired woman just sighed, a moment of peace finally. Her eyes were shut and she was on her back stretched out as much as she could when the soft sound of breathing caught her attention. "Hi Momma." followed shortly after the woman opened one eye to look at the small bedhead sporting boy who was peaking over the edge of the bed. A soft smile spread across her face as she rolled over grabbing the child and pulling him to her. He squealed as he was showered with kisses and small raspberries.
"Good Morning my little prince Niki" Gwen finally stopped as little hands pushed her mouth away. The boy giggled and wrapped his arms around her neck burying his face into her neck and trying to do the same thing she'd done. It didn't work to well.
"I tried be quiet but I want choco chip pamcakes." Nicholas bit his lip, the sweet thing always tried to let her rest but today wasn't going to be one of those days, she'd had too much to do anyway so it was a good thing he'd come to get her. Setting him down on the bed Gwen sat up and rubbed his head gently.
"Alright, well you head down and go see auntie Chrissy okay? Mommy is going to get dressed and clean first. Deal?" She said holding out her pinky for him. With a big grin he wrapped his pinky around hers and nodded quickly before sliding off the bed and stumbling down the hall. As the pitter patter of small feet faded downstairs she got up and dressed for the day.
This wedding was going to be the end of her. She knew exactly who was coming. It had been five years since she'd seen him. But she could do this right? It was going to be fine, five years was enough time to get over someone right? Even when you saw a little face who looked more and more familiar by the day. Fifteen minutes passed and downstairs she went, pancakes were already being prepped by her sister. And she mouthed a silent thank you as she came around and kissed the little boy wiggling in his chair watching them cook.
Breakfast came and went, now it was time for work. Wasn't today the day he'd be landing? He was probably some big shot now, with some supermodel girlfriend and a fancy job. Here she was still working in her parents shop on weekends, single mother and nothing else to really show. Granted she had a degree, but from the near by college and a real job as a dance and gymnastics teacher but that was nothing to what she was sure he'd done. "Excuse me? I've been waiting here for five minutes." A voice snapped her out of her thoughts and her eyes landed on the little old woman in front of her.
"Sorry Ma'm let me wrap that up for you. That'll be four dollars and thirty cents." she said taking the little porcelain figurine and wrapping it up for her.
Later tonight was the rehearsal dinner, but for now she was working and it wouldn't be long till the little brow haired boy would come running in since the shop was one of his favorite places to be.
"Please honey, I know it is the middle of nowhere, but he is my best friend. Next to you, he means everything to me." Those were the words that had sold her. It wouldn't be too bad right? They had to have something fun, plus it was just a week. Fresh air with real trees would be nice, she was sure. She hoped.
Isis always knew they'd have to go there sometime to meet his parents and friends from his childhood, but she wasn't too happy about it. Everyone who knew her knew that she was city girl to the core. Born and raised in New York the dark haired woman knew nothing but the big city. Her parents were was tightly wound as she was, everything in their house was clean and perfectly placed. They had a maid who came in a did that for them.
Isis was sitting, just waiting for him. She'd told him to pack way earlier, but he was still taking his time. At least is wasn't like it was when they first got together, she'd had to train the poor thing. As usual the moment he'd managed to get her to say yes she packed her bag and left it. That was about a week and a half ago. It had taken a few days of him begging and convincing to get her to say yet. As Liam came outside she stood up and offered a small smile. Her eyes drifted to the bag, not over packed, that means he folded everything like she'd taught him.
Her eyes followed him as he put her bags in the car, almost over his shoulder. "Be careful honey, I've got my nice dress in there." She said pointing at the large dark purple bag. Clearing her throat she moved to the car door, ready to go. "Come on we are going to be late and we can't have that if we miss our flight we might not get a seat in first class." Working as a graphic designer who owned her own company had its perks. As they got into the car she sighed, she was in a rush to make sure they were on time. Why did he always have to wait till the last minute she'd never understand.
It didn't take too long to get to the airport, only an hour and for where they lived that was good. Now it was just the flight there and that would only be a few hours. The two enjoyed the perks of first class, free food, fancy cocktails and large seats it was the only way she flew. But then they got to the small, and as far as Isis was concerned, dingy airport. A frown crossed her face almost instantly."Please tell me it gets better from here."
(Sorry it took so long > . <
