...would cause you to lose interest in the series?
How would you react if your fave(s) kicked the bucket?

"Wow they actually had the balls to kill off Jayfeather"
I think my reaction would vary depending on how they die. If it's a good well-written death like Gray Wing's I would be sad, but still have some satisfaction. If it's lame af like Firestar's final death I would just be upset lol

Every time cats die in-between books with only a brief mention given to their fate, I get very annoyed. And more likely than not, it's from greencough. Hazeltail, Toadstep, Icecloud, Molepaw, and Spiderleg all died of greencough off-screen. In Long Shadows, we had an entire greencough epidemic that required extensive quarantine, and yet, only Firestar died (one life). Yet somehow everyone just happens to die of greencough in-between books? It's so lazy.
I'm also still upset about Rainwhisker and Ambermoon, too. Their deaths were also off-screen, but at least it wasn't from greencough again.

briarlight's death really turned me off from the series because she was the ONLY cat who died from the illness that I'm pretty sure EVERY clan had (idk i didnt read the last three avos books). it's just...why her?? rosepetal and stemleaf's deaths were also horrible because they had character and then they were taken away. nobody even reacted to their deaths, not even bristlefrost (i think she passed out or something then never thought about them again). their deaths could've been heart wrenching if bristle watched them but nope, they die offscreen. same with all the bg cats like dappletuft and conefoot. what was the point of making them, giving them no personality, then throwing them away in a battle that nobody sees?? i feel like their deaths are only used to make the readers go "oh a lot of cats died in that battle"

my faves are all old characters and most of them are already dead except for one (the only one alive in my top 4 is jayfeather, so i have no problem with him dying).
i'm not sure who would make me quit the series though? if they keep killing off and disrespecting riverclan and windclan, then i'll feel like quitting. like if the next arc doesnt give riverclan and windclan respect and spotlight, idk how much interest i'll have in it.

No, but the opposite maybe. Like, if they don't start killing off these TNP cats soon, I'm going to lose some interest, I'm tired of WindClan being just about Crowfeather and his family, ShadowClan being just about Tawnypelt and her family, and RiverClan being just about Mothwing.

I've said this before and I'm sticking by it. I only read the series for Jayfeather content. As soon as he's dead, I'm out. If he goes before Lionblaze, I might stick around until they're both dead, but unlikely.

Nope. They've already killed my favorite and I'm still reading, though my heart is a little sadder without my girl

Firestar made me lose my interest in the series past TLH for a good while and I had to get adjusted by him gone to even read the first book. Dovewing and/or Shadowsight I don't like the idea of dying, in fact I held off from reading TST and VOS specifically because I thought Shadowsight died until he was confirmed alive and wouldn't have read the books had that actually been the case. Dovewing's a comfort character for me so I'd obviously die inside if she was offed.

They killed off most if my favorites. I'm still sad over Firestar, and miss him a lot because of how shitty Bramblestar's reign has been. I sympathized with him at first during his SE, but then he just got....even worse. Not really sad at all that he'll probably be killed off.
But yeah. I'm not super thrilled about some of my faves dying, but I'll still read the books if they do. I just hope they have decent send offs.

I won't quit, but if it's barely mentioned or killed off badly...
which probably won't happen in the case of my best girl, Squirrelflight

I feel like that's just what you sign up for with this series. The main theme is survival and especially with the length of the series, no one can just last forever.
We also at least get comfort knowing we'll still get some content from them in StarClan

If they killed my favorite, Hawkwing, off in a dumb way or something I’d be mad but I don’t think I’d quit reading altogether. What might make me quit is if they didn’t kill him but completely butchered his character instead.

I agree with this, I'd rather they kill off my favorite characters, instead of keeping them alive, and ruining, especially for dumb plot reasons.

I'm too stuck to get out now. Anyway, my favorites have died before. If Jayfeather dies in a stupid way, I'll be slightly mad. I need a new favorite character, honestly. All my others apart from Jayfeather are dead.
