Rainhead -- with Timberfang // Pebble Beach
Musing over her options of pretty pebbles, Rainhead's tail twitched when she thought she heard a voice far off. Tearing her eyes off the ground, the blue molly glanced around and recognized a figure not too far off from where she sat. While she couldn't guess who it was off the top of her head, the voice did sound quite familiar as it called her over, sounding desperate for help. Curious, and always willing to help a clanmate, Rainhead rose and began to trot over, wondering what had happened.
As she got close she realized the tom was Timberfang and he seemed to be stuck, his paw was engulfed in a thick puddle of mud. Her eyes widen and she quickens her pace. "Timberfang! What happened?" The young molly asked, almost amazed that he'd gotten stuck in the first place. What had he been doing, walking around with his eyes closed? She had to bite back a smile at the thought, knowing that this was no laughing matter as she recalled the sense of urgency in his tone before. "How should I help?" She asks next, wondering if maybe she could fit in the space between him and the mud and push on his chest, or maybe she'd have to pull on him from behind? It was just his paw that was stuck, it couldn't be too hard to get it out.

Lotusbreeze The lilac molly was getting tired of just sitting around, after all she didn't have anyone to boost her massive ego. She sighed and got up from her spot scanning the camp. It was pretty hot for the she-cat and thought about waking a warrior to go with her to either swim, fish, hunt, or to spy on those pesky squirrel chasers. She sneered at the thought of Thunderclan she would love to claw off their smirking faces. She walked back to the warrior den and scanned for familiar face. She notice Lillypetal and decided to go up to her.
"Hey Lillypetal are you awake?" she whispered to the tortoiseshell molly slightly nudging her shoulder. She felt bad for waking her but she'd rather go with someone that wouldn't tell her to go away and find someone else. "If you're awake meet me outside." she mewed softly leaving the area full of sleeping warriors. She felt the blazing heat once more and frowned obviously irritated.

Lotusbreeze The lilac molly had waited for a bit until she saw a blur of tortoiseshell zoomed past her. She was surprised about how fast she was. "Holy carp," she mewed surprised and she then clearder her throat, "yes I wanted to see if you wanted to go swimming with me, or fish, or keep an eye on those pesky squirrel hunters," she said. Saying it out loud didn't seem very fun. She gave a nervous look thinking that Lillypetal would be wondering why she woke her up for that.
"It's okay if you don't want too it's been blazing out here and thought it would be nice to have someone go with me. I don't want to go alone," she meowed softly. Of course, she mostly wanted someone around to keep her company and tell how pretty she is but she wasn't going to just say that out loud. That would be dumb, however, she sat there and wondered what to do. If Lillypetal said no that means she would have to bother someone else to go with her.

Lotusbreeze As the lilac molly walked towards the river she needed a good swim to cool her off. While she enjoyed the compliments they were a bit much even for her standards. She looked at the tortoiseshell molly giving her a playful nudge not wanting to be rude. She didn't want to take Lillypetal's kindness for granted. "You don't have to compliment me so much I appreciate it but a few will do for now," she said. As they walked to the river she notice it was nice hearing the birds singing. Although she wanted to get to know Lillypetal more.
"Any good dreams?" she asked since she woke the poor she-cat probably out of a good dream. Honestly, the lilac molly did feel bad. After all, she knew she hates it when she is woken up from her wonderful slumber. She frowned a bit thinking about her own dream she honestly couldn't remember. She figured it wasn't really important to remember the dreams they were just mindless filler until you got up and start the day all over again.

Cricketdance chuckled, bowing into a deep stretch as if to bring validation to the younger warrior’s chiding. “Don’t make such ridiculous suggestions - you might start getting more achy old fools out here than you bargained for.” She sat upright again, the amusement hovering in her eyes as she glanced down to see her company’s more solemn expression. Sunhaze was a cat plagued with grim thoughts, perhaps rightfully so, but the blue-grey angled her ears backwards with an awkward exhale when she realized she struck some kind of nerve. Caring little to dive into, or to apologize for, the touchy subject, Cricketdance proceeded with the change of topic quickly. “Doesn’t it?” She agreed lightly to the comment about fishing, shrugging loosely. “ ‘Couple of patrols have been lucky enough to bring back a fish or two, some of which were probably just flopping on the bank if they’re able to find ‘em before they boil into crow food,” she chuckled curtly at her own words. “It’s mostly been apprentices with a day to waste watching the last of the river who’ve been able to salvage much. I suppose it’s good for them,” she cast a curious look in the direction the other she-cat was looking in, smiling a bit at the sight. “He’s nearly ready to become a warrior, ain’t he? Has Basscloud had much to say on his progress?”

Communicating with Cricketdance Dusttail approached Cricketdance when he overheard him talking about how well Basscloud’s apprentice was doing. The tom let out a long yawn from his jaws as he sat beside the other warrior. “Hello, Cricketdance,” he said, shifting his paws nervously. He wished that he could have an apprentice of his very own. He thought about how tough or not he should be with them, how to encourage them, praise them for a good effort on battling and tending to the wounded when possible. Yes, he realized that his aggression in battle can cost him his life. The tom sighed in thought about it. He had his ambitions alright, and they were good ones. He heard stories of other cats who used theirs to get what they wanted for the wrong reasons.

Stormchime Guppypool
Stormchime loomed over the other molly. A pensive look on her face as she stared down at Guppypool, she seemed tired. She wrinkled her nose, the day had hardly began, Stormchime felt. "Oh?" she mused and glanced around camp with a cool gaze. Her gaze lingering on a few of their clanmates before fixing her blue gaze back on Guppypool. "Starving isn't the worst way to die," she pointed out in a helpful tone. She shifted on her paws, swishing her tail behind her. She needed to get out of camp. "We can easily do both. You can multitask right?" Stormchime snarked back before teasing with a sugar-sweet voice, "But for you, I can focus on one thing right now."
She shook her head in faint amusement before bounding after the silvery molly. She waved her tail in greeting to her brother, Rushfeather as she padded past him yet she didn't invite them to their little out-going. Rush could find his own friends. "I am pretty sure half the clan is almost dead with this hot weather," Stormchime meowed with a deep sigh. "Dead cats can't lead patrols," she joked and she rolled her eyes at Guppypool's teasing words.
Apparently Otterheart had a different agenda than the young molly had in the mind. Stormchime might be only a warrior of twenty-three moons but she could lead a patrol blind if the deputy would just give her the chance. Otherwise she had to depend on the charity of senior warriors. "If our deputy would give me a job, I would do it but for now, swimming," she muttered with a soft frown before breaking back into a upbeat voice.

Apprentice's Den - The Siamese settled down beside his two companions outside of the apprentice's den, the hunger of going to bed without dinner last night catching up to him. A purr escaped him as Irispaw took a tumble in his haste to get to the fish that awaited him. He licked his lips as he watched the prey before them, draggiI ng his eyes away from it before responding to Lizardpaw and Irispaw. He figured he would let Irispaw sate some of his hunger before he began to share the meal. He seemed in a mood to fight tooth and claw over a morsel right now and Shellpaw didn't blame him.
"I haven't minded the hunting and patrols all that much," He responded to Lizardpaw, looking thoughtful. "It kind of makes it feel like we are warriors with all the responsibility. Hopefully that does mean we'll have our naming ceremonies soon?" He asked her. Shellpaw wondered if the molly was excited for her warrior name--she definitely seemed confident that she was ready for it. As for Shellpaw, he was still a little nervous to be a full fledged warrior just yet.
Shellpaw decided that it was a good time to begin eating and took a large mouthful off of the fish, chewing thoroughly as he listened to the conversation. Irispaw's musing on Salmoncreek confused the tom a little. He knew that apprentice's had a tendency to complain about their mentors but he genuinely enjoyed the time he got to spend with Basscloud and his companionship. Maybe he'll take me out hunting later today...! The tom thought hopefully. He genuinely enjoyed serving his clan and he felt even better about it now that prey had been low.
"I'm sure it's not that bad?" Shellpaw prodded, head tilting to the side with interest. "She probably thinks your're great. I do!" The tom encouraged with a sheepish smile. Ever the optimist. "It's understandably hard to focus in this heat especially... and we've all been busy lately. I'm sure she'd cut you some slack." [ absolutely wrong Shellpaw lol ]

Riverclan Camp - Salmoncreek blinked slowly, turning her head to glance at Featherblossom as she spoke. Originally the suggestion had irked her a little--Salmoncreek had a tendency to be a bit haughty and usually only trusted her own judgement. It was typically only Cloudstar or Otterheart who could get her, or rather force her, to put up with cats she didn't necessarily approve of, like on patrols or in the case of her appretnice, Irispaw. But Featherblossom's suggestion warranted an approving nod to the silver warrior.
"Heronglide?" She repeated, glancing around for the warrior and following the gesture of Featherblossom's tail. "Excellent choice," She murmured, half to herself. The grey and white tom was a good warrior, hard-working and loyal. He was one of the few that Salmoncreek had open displayed respect for. She dipped her head to the warrior as he joined the small party. "Trying to," She responded, paws itching to leave.
The young warrior motioned the party to head out, satisfied with the group, when Swanpaw approached. Salmoncreek slowed her pace but didn't stop entirely for Swanpaw, looking between Featherblossom and Heatherglide for their opinions with her mouth set in a tight line. Salmoncreek wasn't entirely fond of apprentices, especially the overeager type, but she also wasn't going to turn her nose up on another cat making themselves useful feeding the clan. Another set of paws could be helpful in bringing back more prey... or just make hunting more difficult. However, she figured she would leave the decision up to Heronglide, as this was his apprentice.

»𝔾𝕦𝕡𝕡𝕪𝕡𝕠𝕠𝕝« »𝕨𝕚𝕥𝕙 Blaze ♡ 's 𝕊𝕥𝕠𝕣𝕞𝕔𝕙𝕚𝕞𝕖 // ℂ𝕒𝕞𝕡« She had listened intently to her friends words, shaking her heard. "If we are lucky, maybe the other clans drop like flies and leave the territory to all of Riverclan." She was still joking of course, she wouldn't imagine a life without Thunderclan, Skyclan, and Windclan being a thorn in her paw. As they approached the river, she brought herself to a halt and looked at Stormchime, refraining from laughing about her comment over Otterheart refusing to put her on a patrol.
"Excuses, my dear, all excuses. Either way, it's nice to have days without patrolling. I mean sure, I totally miss seeing the faces of the other clan cats but it's nice to break away and just swim." She was being sarcastic at the end as she stepped into the water. It wasn't nearly as high as it had been last Greenleaf, it was pretty sad to see. She glanced back at Shimmerscale, wondering if she could continue on the conversation or let it settle into a silence between them. On one paw, she did enjoy the quiet, it let her listen to the air around them and make sure it was safe enough. On the other, she wasn't sure how much fun it would be to just swim. Sure most Riverclan cats enjoyed just wetting her paws, she loved it too, but it felt weird to not continue talking with a clanmate nearby.
"You think it'll rain soon?" She wondered, turning her attention back to the pathetic, in her mind, excuse of a river.

Dewdrop The snow white tom gave a warm hearted chuckle seeing his apprentice's delight. He was excited but the molly in front of him seemed more so. So much so she almost left without him and once he caught up he gave a laugh. "You know I thought I was the mentor and you were the apprentice," he said joking. He couldn't say he didn't enjoy the young feline's burst of energy to go train. Matter of fact it made him happy to know that he wasn't a bad mentor. Sure he liked to joke around but he hopes to teach her some cool moves he knows or he would embarrass himself in the process. Either way he was happy to do what he could. Once they were at the entrance of the camp he could feel the worry begin to fade.
"So voles huh? Why not fish, to me fish are more of the rewarding prey after all I had so many of them just slap me across the face," he said this time he wasn't joking. He was serious and it made him angry one day he will get a fish without it slapping him in the face. He shook his head not wanting to discourage his apprentice. "I mean not that voles aren't rewarding they're pretty speedy." He didn't want his conflict with the prey to get in the way of him training his apprentice. "Although I guess in a way it doesn't matter at the end of the day the satisfaction of feeding the Clan is a pretty good feeling," he said heading towards the river.
Sorry for my late response. Work has been insane lately. Creekpaw The River || Dewdrop ʙєωɪᴛᴄʜɪηɢ ηɪɢʜᴛѕʜαɗє ~ ~👻 With her mentors comment about their mentor apprentice relationship, Creekpaw toned herself down a little bit out of respect. She knew that he was only teasing, but the young molly still knew better than to try and take the reigns without his say so. As they left the camp behind them the mottled white molly made sure to stay atleast one step behind him, thankfully her shorter legs made it an easy thing to maintain. "Fish are fun, and definitely deserve a solid bite to the head but voles are my favorite!" As the apprentice trotted along side the white tom her mouth began to water. The thought of tasting fresh prey invigorated her, sadly Creekpaw had not thought to eat anything before they left.

"Wow Mistypaw that sounds awesome! How big do you think the biggest fish in the river is?" he asked, not even realizing he was rambling. "Like big as Shellpaw big, or like bigger than dad big?" With a bounce in his step, he continued to push through the reeds listing of cats that a fish could be bigger than.
Then, just a heartbeat later, his head popped out of the reeds. Directly in front of him was a small pebbly shore and the massive river that stretched through the territory. "Maybe as big as- oh." He felt a little bit of his energy drain away. "Oh... Ha. Looks like we're here..." Was the river always this big and scary, he thought to himself, did it always make such a loud sound?

Beefur
"You may have a point there," she agreed as the walked through the territory and too the river. "Everyone seems to be getting antsy. I don't think Cloudstar will make any direct moves, though." Looking over at the tom she tried to gauge his reaction. Sure, most of her clanmates were fine with their leader's pacifism, but they'd only known times of peace. How would their opinions change if they had to face war and strife?
"Although it might be nice to swat a couple of ThunderClan brats, eh?" She added with a smile. "Use some of that warrior training for enemies smaller than foxes."

Salmonwhisker pebble beach | accompanied by Timberfang & Rainhead Salmonwhisker frowned at the distinct lack of water in the river bed. It was bad enough that the heat wave had so drastically depleted their main food supply; now, the water in some places was so shallow he could only wade in up to his ankles. The long-haired tom's normally smooth and glossy fur was nothing more than a suffocating blanket, prickling uncomfortably beneath the blazing sun. He closed his eyes and tried to imagine cool water sliding through his ginger fur, but there was not even a breeze to support the illusion. The air around him remained as oppressively still and dry as ever.
At that moment, a voice caught his attention. Salmonwhisker's eyes popped open and he leaped to his feet. He'd thought he was alone out here, but there was no wind to carry another cat's scent to him. Had he been ambushed? He whirled around and spotted a familiar brown tabby battling the mud at the edge of the river bed. "Timberfang!" He sauntered over to his imperiled clanmate. "How dare you disturb my languishing?" He sighed melodramatically and shook his head in mock disappointment, though his eyes glittered with mischief. "You're lucky I happened by. Fear not, brave warrior, for your salvation is nigh!"
"Timberfang!" Somebody exclaimed from behind them. Salmonwhisker's eyes flicked up and caught sight of Rainhead hurrying towards them - and a lovely sight she was, indeed. The sleek blue molly seemed to be trying not to smile as she inspected Timberfang's predicament. "How should I help?" She mewed.
"Ho there! The lovely leading lady makes an entrance," he called. He dipped his head politely, then turned to face Timberfang again. "You're right on time. I was just puzzling over how to save this gallant warrior, myself." He paced around Timberfang, tilting his head and frowning thoughtfully. "Hm. I suppose, if it's just his paw, we merely need to dislodge his leg from the muck. If he keeps going forward, he may sink further." Salmonwhisker paused a few steps away from Rainhead, whiskers twitching. "How do you think we should proceed, my dear Rainhead?"
Heronglide riverclan camp | accompanied by Featherblossom, Salmoncreek & Swanpaw Heronglide nodded once, affirmatively. "Excellent. Let us be off then." Salmoncreek motioned for the party to head out, and he fell into step a few paces behind her. He glanced over his shoulder to see Featherblossom bringing up the rear - and a certain white tom with black ears and a black muzzle bounding after her. He knew of only one other cat in the clan with those unusual markings. He held up his tail, signaling for the others to pause, and waited as the apprentice hurried up to him.
"Can I come, please?" Swanpaw pleaded, his amber eyes bright with excitement. Heronglide considered this for a heartbeat, exchanging a glance with the other warriors. Salmoncreek had merely slowed her pace, and her mouth was a tight line. Heronglide had great respect for the hard-working molly - she was one of the few warriors who seemed to take their duties seriously - but he knew she wasn't fond of apprentices.
It would be helpful to have another set of paws on the patrol though, and he had promised Swanpaw a hunting session. Holding back a sigh, the white-and-grey warrior dipped his head. "Very well. You may come. But I expect you to be on your best behavior!" He jerked his head towards Salmoncreek, and he fell in behind her and Featherblossom again. "Just stick close to me, alright?" he added to Swanpaw in an undertone.

Dewdrop The white tom gave a curt nod about the voles, even though he enjoyed hunting fish more but nothing was wrong with variety. He glanced around the area making sure there were no prey running around. He gave a sad sigh hoping to have something out here. Oh well I can teach her how to hunt in the water at least, he thought. He was perplexed on what to do really sure he wanted his training to be fun but also serious. His fears were being seen as a pushover and letting his apprentices doing whatever they want. He shook his head and cleared the thought away, he was sure he wasn't a push over.
The white tom was too entranced in thought that he wasn't paying attention and fell into the cold river. He gave a howl of surprise as he fell in, although he swam back up. He was hot with embarrassment and looked at his apprentice with a nervous chuckle. "Um, the first rule of business is always paying attention to where you're going." Dewdrop cleared his throat and looked around his little fall had scared some fish away and he gave an irritated huff. First, he embarrasses himself, and now he a good handful of prey away. He hoped the training would go quick so he could possibly die of embarrassment.
Lotusbreeze The lilac molly appreciated her companion listened to her about the compliments. Once they got to the river she gave a warm happy purr and jumping in. The water level seemed off but it was still nice and cool and she wondered about possibly catching a few fish while she was here. She looked at the tortoiseshell molly and splashed water at her with a purr. "Wanna catch some fish while we're here?" she asked with a happy purr.
The she-cat was having fun swimming around in the river trying to catch fish that would swim by her ignorantly she was only able to catch one not that she minded. She was enjoying the cool water and was having fun with her companion that came with her. She looked over at her to see how she was doing. She thought about somethings and it seemed she was staring at her but in reality, she was staring into space about what was going on.

Creekpaw The River || Dewdrop ʙєωɪᴛᴄʜɪηɢ ηɪɢʜᴛѕʜαɗє ~ ~👻 To Creekpaws surprise the reeds before them suddenly stopped and there was instantly a drop off. If she hadn't been a step behind Dewdrop she too would have fallen down the shallow embankment and into the river. Scrambling, claws out, the white mottled molly found her footing and backed away from the edge. "Are you okay?! She called out, tone full of worry. Slowly moving forward Creekpaw peeked over the edge down to the river and where her mentors white form swam. Under further inspection it became increasingly obvious that the river had grown smaller. Worry rising within, she quickly left the sudden edge and made her way down the bank to where she stood at the waters edge where Dewdrop could pull himself out at. "Where did the river go? Just the other day it was as high as the top of the drop off", she meowed mentioning the small overhang that Dewdrop had just fallen from.

Lizardpaw’s ears perked as she watched Irispaw stumble over himself, tilting her head in amusement as he wrestled to correct himself. His mood scarcely sullied, she seemed unsurprised as the tom carried on with the conversation effortlessly. She looked to Shellpaw as he padded over, nodding in agreement. “You have a point, there might be more of a rush to get us named, now that I think about it,” she took another bite as she considered the idea, swallowing quickly so she could keep speaking. “With the river so low, I don’t really know what Cloudstar has in mind for us, but we’ve proven ourselves in a number of ways in recent moons.” She chuckled proudly at the thought. Being so similar in age and training, she knew it was likely that her and Shellpaw would have their ceremonies together - or at least in close recession. While her enthusiasm was not expressed, she seemed to be keeping a confident pace as the pair advanced in their training, untroubled by the approaching date of their promotion in status. She considered Irispaw as he started on the subject, offering a sympathetic expression as he explained his experiences with his mentor. “Battle training doesn’t sound too bad - I can usually hold my own - but I can’t imagine trying to keep Salmoncreek impressed.” She lowered her voice a touch, craning her neck to look around camp to be certain the she-cat in question wasn’t anywhere in earshot. “She ain’t terribly snake-hearted, by any means, but you’d think she ought to find dirt in her nest every morning to warrant such a mood. She just takes herself too seriously, if you ask me.” She shrugged a bit, then scoffed at what Shellpaw had to say. “That cleanpawed tabby? You’re better off just scrambling to do what she says and praying to StarClan she’s content with it, Irispaw.”

Goatfrost » Cold river water splashed onto his face as he quickly pulled the fish out and tossed it down onto the pebbly shore. With a swift movement the tomcat dove down and nipped the fish near the gills, killing it in one bite. He kept a steady paw on the body for a moment longer to make sure it didn’t flop back into the water, but as the creature stilled Goatfrost pulled his paw away and set it back down on the riverbank.
He had been fishing since dawn, wanting to get out of camp before it got too hot to even want to move; it didn’t help that he was already a thick-furred cat, and he could only imagine how hot it was for those who had a darker pelt than he. At this point Goatfrost had managed to catch three decent sized fish, enough for him to call it quits for now. He was a bit disappointed that he hasn’t been able to get more than three since usually the fish were more plentiful this time of year, but he wasn’t going to push himself to catch enough for the entire Clan; other hunting patrols were bound to be out right now, and Goatfrost was only a singular cat, there was no way he’d be able to realistically catch that many fish and still be able to bring them all back to camp in one trip. At this point, though, the sun was beating down on him and his thick fur was not used to handling such dry heat. He would be better off taking his three kills and heading back to camp before he ended up overheating.
Getting up to his paws the tomcat grabbed the fish into his jaws. With the fresh-kill secure in his maw, he headed down the familiar path back to camp after a good morning's work of fishing.

Lotusbreeze The lilac gray molly snapped out of it and looked at her friend. "Oh um sorry I tend to stare off into space," she mewed. She noticed the water in the river wasn't shallow and this worried her. "Oh no I hope rain comes soon or we would have to find another way to get food," she said. She wondered if Cloudstar knew about this. If not then they would have to tell her about the river. A dozen worries came to her mind where would they hunt, drink, and swim? Her tail twitched with worry as she looked up to Lilypetal.
"This is bad," she murmured and she didn't understand how she didn't notice it and it made her worry. She snapped out of it and wanted to catch as much fish as she could she didn't want her clan to starve with this arising problem that the heat brought. They needed water for amounts of things and now it was starting to deplete it was making the she-cat worried. She shook her head and looked back at her companion. Not wanting to worry her for her weird behavior she gave a smile. "Hey um let's catch enough fish to feed the clan and maybe some voles too," she said.
Dewdrop The white tom looked up where he had fallen his eyes widened in surprise and fear. He looked over at his apprentice not sure how to answer usually he would make a joke but he felt like this wasn't the time. "I fear the heat has taken the river," he said he was obviously worried. He got out of the shrunken down river and began to pace on the solid ground without realizing. He wanted to teach his apprentice but this wasn't going to be easy not with the river shrinking like it is. Soon they wouldn't have a source of water and possibly open for any attackers. He took a deep breath.
"I'll teach you how to hunt and cool off for a bit but then we must go back to camp," he stated his cheerful and joking demeanor gone in a flash. "I think we should tell Cloudstar about our river being almost nonexistent," he said. He shook his fur and looked back at his apprentice he felt bad for the molly in front of him. He appreciated her concern. "Thank you for coming down to help," he said proud of her.

Sandhaze with Cricketdance // in camp ≈≈ ꕥ ≈≈ The honey siamese she-cat had been so deeply lost in her more than dismal thoughts she hadn't even really heard Cricketdance's playful scolding. Her heart had felt heavy in her chest and all at the mention of their false gods. Sandhaze didn't believe in them, not anymore, and she would always differ from her clan mates on this. She couldn't allow herself to grow bitter anytime StarClan was mentioned. Sighing, the molly lowered her ears a bit, still staring off distractedly at her son.
"Very true. I saw that our pile is mostly mice, which is definitely new. What I'd give for a nice fish right now," Sandhaze mewed, chuckling quietly. The whole clan was missing their regular prey and the abundance they were used to. "Though I'm sure the same goes for everyone," she admitted. She had heard multiple grumbles from clan mates, all about this dreadful heat. What they needed was a good rain.
The molly's ears perked at the mention of her son, a genuine smile stretching across her face. "Just a few moons out now! He's growing so fast, I swear Cricketdance. I remember when he was just a tiny little thing... he's gotten so big now," Sandhaze enthused to the older warrior, peering at her with soft blue eyes.
"He might be looking a bit thin though, I should probably make sure he's eating," she mumbled, almost to herself. Realizing she'd spoken her very maternal thoughts aloud, the siamese warrior ducked her head to lick at her chest in embarrassment. "Sorry, I know he's old enough to care for himself but... I just.. I worry. I think I always will. Oh but yes! Basscloud said he's doing well, I know he works hard," she purred, clearly proud of how far Shellpaw had come.
Grayrain with Pebbleskip // Babbling Brook ≈≈ ꕥ ≈≈
Grayrain ran without much thought to where he was putting his paws, seeing no need to, having trailed along these banks since he was a young apprentice. The tom leaped up over a larger rock in his path, the momentum from his pace nearly sending him falling right onto his face. He let out a quiet chuckle to himself, catching his balance before slowing down as they neared their destination. The water of the river grew slightly deeper here but not by too much, unfortunately. Still, their chances were better here.
"How...?" the tom huffed, tilting his head as he realized that he and Pebbleskip had tied. Shaking his head, he shrugged. Honestly, the winner didn't matter that much to him. "Well, you think we'll manage to catch anything here?" he asked her, sounding doubtful but forcing a smile upon his face. They had to deal with what they had and right now, that was shallow water and less fish.

JAEGERWING with rushfeather, salmonwhisker is mentioned _________________________________
Jaegerwing woke up today with the most brilliant idea. It had thunk itself into his mind to the sound of a thousand trumpets. All the voices of StarClan harmonized together singing a swelling “hallelujah”, and even the deep bass of the Dark Forest joined in. Soon, Jaegerwing was sure, the pearly gates of StarClan itself would open and Starstar, the great leader of StarClan and the first cat ever, would place a wreath of flowers around his head on which “genius” was transcribed in the ancient unknowable script of cats.
You see, this morning Jaegerwing woke up thinking of sheep. His thoughts drifted from sheep to farms, from farms to farm-cats, to how lame it must be to be a farm-cat who just lazes around all day long seeing the same five other cats and the same five sheep every day, to how eager those pretty plump farm she-cats would be if a handsome and mysterious bachelor strolled into their territory.
Jaegerwing is that bachelor.
He is the man on the front of a bodice ripper; brooding, bright-eyed, hiding a dark-and-mysterious-past as displayed by his many scars and many long gazes out towards the horizon. Imagine how they would swoon. Imagine how they would sigh. Plump pretty she-cats giggling at his jokes, pool-deep eyes glittering with awe as he regaled them with stories about heroic fights defending his home. They would basically fall at his feet. Oh, Jaegerwing was brilliant. His momma had told him so and in this moment he knew it.
It was no fun to pick up the ladies alone, though. Jaegerwing would have to tempt one of his friends into joining him. His mind immediately went to Salmonwhisker, as it usually did. The tom was his best friend, his wing man, his partner in crime. Alas, as the fates would have it, Jaegerwing had seen the Romeo to his Mercutio leaving camp earlier. It was time for Plab B. Luckily, Jaegerwing knew just the cat.
“Ooooooooh, Rushfeather”, Jaegerwing basically skipped over towards the river, where he was certain he would find his classically lazy friend basking in the sun. “My baby, my honey, my ragtime gal! You want to go on an adventure?”
