Swanpaw This time, he was too caught up in his own wonderful, imaginary world to hear what Sledgestep was saying. He could barely hear what he was saying at all! His own world was so much nicer... He remembered his manners just in time, so what he said ended up being, "Wh- Sorry, can you repeat that, please?". His mother taught him manners a lot, as she valued kindness much more than the average cat, and being polite was being kind, as she always said.

Snakestorm was a chatty cat albeit miffed when the other cat had suddenly walked by without her noticing. She swore up and down in her head there had been no cat taking interest in the tom. Still, she was bored out of her mind with nothing much to do here inside of camp. "Sorry about that Mockingjay." She apologized, it felt forced, as if she needed to apologize over anything. Her amber eyes glanced at the approaching cat to Dusttail and back to Mockingjay who she waved her wispy tail at, fitting the name given to her.

riverclan camp ; with dewpounce;
I want to know everything about you. Jaegerwing leaned forward, peering into Dewpounce’s eyes. Peering into the reflection of his own eyes mirrored in hers. I want to know everything about you. Jaegerwing was a romantic. He was the type of tom who dressed himself in pomp and ridiculous circumstances to hid the picking-flower-petals-will-he-won’t-he lover in his heart. He did a bad job concealing it. His tongue was red licorice and too sweet to be completely fake. Perhaps that was what made him charming. He had the attitude of a philanderer but his compliments were true. He wasn’t one to nest and run; if anything, the other cat usually left first. Expecting him to be something that he was not but pretending very hard to be.
Introspection aside, Jaegerwing is leaning into Dewpounce with a feral grin.
“Sheep riding.”
And there it is.
“Just imagine it. You know how two-legs ride across the moor on horses sometimes, all fast and intimidating? Well, imagine that but with us on sheep. Imagine the look on ThunderClan’s faces if a battle patrol rode into their territory on the back of sheep. They wouldn’t know what to do! We could, like, throw rocks at them, from the back of sheep. This could be a revolutionary innovation in warfare.”
Jaegerwing was monologing. His eyes were gleaming golden and he was staring past Dewpounce into an imagined sunset. He was seeing warriors standing on the back of trained sheep, claws dug into their thick wool, barreling through whole ThunderClan patrols. They would be unstoppable. The ladies throwing themselves at Jaegerwing would also be unstoppable.
“Genius, right?”

Lotusbreeze Lotusbreeze laughed a bit at her friend before finally in agreement. The lilac molly gave a sigh at her friend's silliness over trout and gave her a nudge. "I'm sure you would like vole and other things if you just give it a try, I'm sure it would be better than being stubborn and starving yourself," she said with an amused purr. She then noticed the tortoiseshell molly looking at her son.
"How has Swanpaw been doing?" she asked her friend. She was very interested to hear how Lilypetal's son was doing especially due to him being an apprentice. She figured Lilypetal would miss him being around. Of course, Lotusbreeze knew that she was full of pride to see he was apprenticed. "If you want to talk to him it's fine I understand," she said with a purr.

"Uh, no I hadn't," admitted Mockingjay. He glanced at the other warrior who had approached Dusttail and dipped his head. He suddenly felt like an interloper. He had honestly not expected another cat to go to talk to the warrior and clearly Snakestorm hadn't either. Not that he minded. "Hunting would be good," he agreed, though he tried to be mindful about how he phrased what he said. "But I don't have to come if both of you are already occupied."

(Poor Goatfrost. Maybe just a fun hiding place then.) Mallowkit could hear Goatfrost, even when he tumbled to a bit of a stop. He had to be quiet now. He knew that. And it would be more tricky to head to the place he really wanted to hide. But he'd do it! Because he was brave and anyway ... a warrior had gone out of his way to play a game with Mallowkit. That was practically permission! So the little tabby started slinking toward the Warriors den, body low. There was no one inside, but Mallowkit didn't know that until he almost had his nose in it. Then he hurriedly scrambled in. Looking left and right, he tried to debate what was best to hide. Then he worked his way into a corner, right near the exit. Maybe if Goatfrost came in, Mallowkit would be able to sneak past him before he was noticed! That seemed like a really good idea to the little kit. Then - and then and then - he'd go back and hide in an old hiding spot that Goatfrost had already checked! He'd never be found!

Lilypetal "No, I'm sure he's fine. He's just going out with his mentor! Plus, I want to stay here with you!", purred Lilypetal truthfully. "Now anyways, I think I have tried vole before, and despised it! I guess I'm just a picky eater?", meowed Lilypetal jokingly. "From what I understand, it's like how only Shadowclan will eat lizards and the rest find them disgusting.", she meowed again. "If it's not trout, it's not worth eating!", she joked.

Creekpaw With Dewdrop along the River somewhere ʙєωɪᴛᴄʜɪηɢ ηɪɢʜᴛѕʜαɗє ~ ~👻 Creekpaw was very quick to absorb Dewdrops praise, purring loudly and tail curling up with pride. She had did it! Finally at least a semi clean kill, at least the vole didnt make a death squeak alerting every piece of prey in the area. Dewdrop seemed to be just as excited and proud as she was as he raced up to her and began nuzzling her excitedly. Creekpaw could only laugh as he pulled away and apologized. "Its okay, if it wasn't for your guidance and reassurance I could have never done it" her mew was muffled as she spoke through the vole she refused to put down. Returning the affection so that he didn't feel weird about it, Creekpaw briefly nuzzled into his strong fluffy shoulder. Pulling away she looked up at him as he continued one to instruct her how to make a smooth clean kill. A way to eliminate the dust and scuffle, something her mottled white pelt would be grateful for. "Makes perfect sense", she replied firmly with a big nod. Though his words made perfect sense it would be a whole nother thing for the young molly to implement his instructions while in the heat of the moment. Still in awe of her first catch, and purr still radiating from her chest she just say there mouth watering as she scents of the vole began to fill her senses. Creekpaw had thought of putting the small lifeless creature down but she secretly feared that if she did, somehow it would run away and she would be left empty pawed.

s i l v e r s t e p Sunning Rocks with Heronglide, Sledgestep + Swanpaw A purr rumbled in Silverstep's throat as she listened to the three tomcats converse, plumy tail swishing happily. Despite the sun beating down on the patrol, the young Molly felt swollen with emotion for her clanmates. She had decided not to take anything for granted anymore, so the casual bickering, warm weather, and good friends made her trot excitedly. As the river appeared over the crest, she let out a small mew, tail tip flicking as she picked up the pace, slithering down toward the river. It wasn't nearly as high as it normally was at this time of year, though Silverstep enjoyed being able to see the pebble-y bottom littered with shells. She paced the bank, blue eyes wide as she searched for any fish flickering in the depths. "There's a small school gathered over here!" she mewed eagerly, paws kneading the sandy bank. Sitting there for a mere moment, Silverstep angled herself just right, crouched and watching intently at the waves. In a flash, her paw slashed out and she hooked her first fish, tossing it on the bank and swiftly killing it. It wasn't very large, but it was still plump. She turned to the patrol with the fish in her maw, a huge grin plastered over her pretty, silver tabby face.

Goatfrost » It didn't take long for Goatfrost to finish counting, and as soon as he made it to the number ten he parted open his eyes and scanned them across the camp. Upon his initial search there was no sign of the kit, but Goatfrost had yet to start truly looking. Admittedly he had no idea where the young tom would have run off to, but Goatfrost wasn't too worried about the situation. There was no way Mallowkit would have been able to sneak out of camp in ten seconds, and there was no way he could have gotten too far in the camp, either. Now the question thrown over Goatfrost was where exactly could the little tom be? Goatfrost needed to narrow down his options.
For what had to be another round of ten seconds, Goatfrost stood there deep in thought, tail flicking back and forth in a steady pattern of mental rumination. His first thought was to go and check the nursery as that would be the den Mallowkit was the most familiar with, but would the kit even want to go back into the den he had been cooped up inside before coming out to play? Goatfrost had always been adamant about staying far away from the nursery when he had been a kit and was allowed to go out and play.
With the nursery out of the equation, Goatfrost had to think of other places the kit could be. For all the warrior knew, Mallowkit was somewhere out in camp hiding away. There were plenty of places for a kit to hide. "Alright, Mallowkit, here I come!" The warrior announced the start of his search and then swiveled his ears around for any hints of noise. If there was one thing Goatfrost knew about kits it was that most of them had a hard time keeping completely silent. He would be relying on his sense of hearing a lot for this game, perhaps even more so than sight.

The striped tom turned hearing a vaguely familiar voice. His ear twtiched and he turned his head. Primroseclaw, was his name if he remembered correctly. He dipped his head in greeting to the tom as he made his way over. The gathering? That was right, they'd gotten back from it not too long ago. He'd been a bit of a daze recently, maybe it was the heat getting to him finally.
"The gathering went well, as they usually go I guess. The other clans are feeling the heat too, so we aren't the only ones burning our pelts off." He chuckled lightly as he wrapped his tail around his paws trying to sit straight."Cloudstar offered help where it is needed and you know Dawnstar? Lost their last life to a coyote attack, but the new leader wasn't in attendance. I think I heard they were sick or something? Doesn't sound too good if you ask me." He said the tip of his tail twitching a bit. Stagstar too, actually and Windclans looking out of fires." The silver and black cat shifted his paws. "All the hardships happening makes you wonder if the clans have done something to anger Starclan. It's getting harder to catch any fish. Just look at that fresh-kill pile." He sighed, he'd tried to hard to catch the bird, he was a fisher not a hunter honestly. He preferred getting wet to a face full of dirt if he missed.

Lotusbreeze Lotusbreeze gave a nod watching as the young apprentice was going out with his mentor. She thought it was nice that Lilypetal wasn't an overbearing mother after all he would soon be a warrior. Though she knew that her friend loved her son but for now he had duties that he needed to do. She gave a light purr feeling happy to know she wanted to keep the lilac molly company. She flicked her tail with content as she wondered what to say. "Well thanks glad to hear you wanted to stick around me," she giggled.
The molly scoffed at her friend for thinking vole was gross. "Aw come on it's not that bad I'm sure squirrels taste worse all stringy and junk," the she-cat made a face thinking about the fact Thunderclan cats eat those. She shuddered a bit before going back to the topic at hand. "Although I think Shadowclan don't really have much of a variety, after all, it's either lizards or rats," she gave a mew of disgust rats were nasty and mean vermin. She didn't really understand Shadowclan although she might be wrong. Maybe they do have a variety but they like to eat lizards primarily. Though she couldn't judge after all they probably thinking eating fish is the nastiest thing ever.

Dewdrop He gave a purr. The tom was so proud of his apprentice and wanted to run around the Clan yelling about his apprentice and how great she was. He then realized that would be a bad idea after all no apprentice is perfect but that didn't mean he wasn't prideful. Of course he was happy to know he made sense with his training. He was grateful for Creekpaw understanding his lesson even if it wasn't a demonstration.
"Alright want to hunt some more?" the tom asked wondering if the mottled molly wanted to do the technique he taught. He wouldn't be offended if she said no, however, he wanted to talk to Cloudstar about the river problem. His tail wiggled with nervousness as he thought about the future for the Clan. He hoped that things would get better but how things were going he didn't understand. He frowned for a little bit and shook his head out of those thoughts, after all, this wasn't going to distract him on teaching his apprentice.

basscloud of riverclanaccompanied by Littlefin | camp, heading for nurseryBasscloud had just woken up from his short slumber as he wasn't all that tired. Luckily, he finally felt rested which meant he could visit Littlefin and his kits today. His duties could wait and seeing that most cats were up to something else, he was sure he wouldn't be in any trouble.
He bounded out of the warrior's den, spotting a pair of familiar green eyes outside the nursery. He knew exactly who it was the moment he caught her eye; Littlefin! he thought, his face brightening at the sight of his mate. It wasn't long before the tom hurried over to her, his tabby pelt shimmering in the sunlight. He skidded to a halt before the she-cat, panting lightly.
"Littlefin!" he greeted, pressing his chin against hers affectionately. "Sorry that I wasn't up sooner. I might've drifted back to sleep. But I'm here now!"
The dark tabby tom's gaze wandered to the fish that his mate had taken from the fresh kill pile. For some reason, the heat made the scent and appearance of fish unappetizing. Maybe if the heat were to let up sometime soon, he'd have more of an interest in eating prey. His eyes traveled away, scouring the outside of the nursery for two little kittens. It seemed that Seakit and Wavekit weren't around right now.
"How are you?" he asked, taking a seat next to the black and white queen. "How are the kits? Did you all sleep well?" image source - tumblr | 𝚛𝚊𝚒𝚗𝚢

Primroseclaw- inky The piebald tom's ears flattened as Birchpelt mentioned the help Cloudstar had offered. Typical- next she'll give up all our territory because WindClan decides to feel mildly ill! He did however feel a small ripple of sympathy when the marbled tabby mentioned Stagstar had passed on. Stagstar had been an ornery old bastard, and it was always a pain when the tom had tried to stake claims in Sunningrocks for the umpteenth time, but the cat possessed many traits that Primroseclaw had long held in esteem- perhaps to an unhealthy extent, but Primroseclaw was not by design self-aware enough to note that. "Ah, Stagstar," he said, nodding almost wistfully- almost. Something else was glittering behind his sunlight-yellow eyes. "I'll miss him. I don't doubt for a second he went out fighting." For a millisecond, he glanced at the leader den behind them, unconsciously baring his teeth. "I wish he had been RiverClan-borne," he added cryptically. "Oh, and I feel pity for Dawnstar too," he added in an apologetic tone. But the truth was that he had just never really liked Dawnstar. WindClan always drew his ire in a way the other Clans didn't. At least ThunderClan and SkyClan would fight. WindClan would run- nothing but an organized gang of cowards with a superiority complex. At least, that's how he saw them.

h a i l w h i s k e r in Camp with Frecklebee A black nose poked its way through the warrior's den followed by the large, thick-furred physique of Hailwhisker. The gray tabby tomcat looked more like a ThunderClan cat than a RiverClan one with his long mane of fur. Though, upon closer inspection, his fur was fluffy rather than dense, able to shed water like anyone else in his Clan and didn't cling to him when wet. Instead it just fluffed out a bit more, nothing a good grooming session couldn't handle. Hailwhisker sighed as he caught sight of his sister, Silverstep, exiting camp on a hunting patrol, tail tip twitching irritably as he trotted over to the fresh-kill pile. I promised to hunt with her.. fish-brain! he exclaimed, annoyed that he'd slept so late. He knew the silver tabby would understand, but it didn't soothe Hailwhisker from feeling like a jerk. Bending over, he scooped up a fish in his maw and slithered over to the edge of camp, settling down on his belly as he dug into his meal. His stomach growled angrily and the tomcat couldn't help but feel as if the fish wouldn't fulfill him. Despite his long coat, the warrior was quite large. His shoulders were broad and his muscles dense underneath his soft pelt, great for hunting a fighting, though not-so-great at food preservation. He twitched an ear and forced himself to eat slowly, hoping to trick his stomach into thinking he was eating more fish. He couldn't help but feel annoyed by his burly frame, wishing he had the slender build of most of his clanmates. He placed his head on his paws, whiskers twitching as he lost himself in thought, blue eyes clouded with an unknown expression. 𝕊’𝕞𝕠𝕣𝕖

willowstripe alone // riverclan camp Willowstripe loved reliving his glory days. He had used to be a proud warrior, with a shiny coat and claws that were sharpened for battle. He had been so, so eager to serve RiverClan in any way he could, ready to lay down his life for his clan if need be. Then came the end of Pikestar's reign, and the end of almost all battles. Willowstripe still looked for ways to be a hero, because that's what he saw himself as. A bonafide Julius Caesar, ready to go down in RiverClan history. Now he was old. It had taken a long time to final admit that to himself, but every time he saw his reflection in the water and looked into his dimming eyes and at his graying muzzle, he knew he couldn't fight it. There was no way he could force himself into battle now, as old as he was. So, like most elders, he resolved himself to basking in the sun and telling stories. He had been relaxing in camp and watching it come to life, still not allowing himself to sleep in, even if he had no duties to attend to. Willowstripe might be old, but he wouldn't be lazy. He looked to the rather unfortunate fresh-kill pile, and his stomach ached with hunger. He was thin under his long fur, but he would still pass food off to his other clanmates as often as he could. He would be fine without it, he reasoned, and he could fill himself up again when the drought ended. The old tom cast a glance over at the nursery, wondering how Littlefin and her kits were doing with the heat.

s e a k i t in Camp with Willowstripe
It was hot, no cat could deny it, though the determination of defying her mother won against the grueling heat. With careful paws, a tiny, smoke tabby kitten tip toed from the nursery, her sea foam colored eyes bright with determination. Wavekit and Littlefin were asleep in the nursery, enjoying all the space from the empty den all to themselves. Except, aside from her mother and sister, there was another kit who slept in there, but Seakit couldn't remember her name. Having barely turned three moons old, the dark tabby was still a bit awkward at placing her paws on the ground and a little clumsy, but improving everyday! After deciding she had successfully escaped her nap, the little kit gave a loud purr of triumph, trotting across the clearing and twitching her whiskers. She couldn't smell Basscloud's scent, but she still wanted to find her father. On careful toes, she padded over to the warriors den and poked her head in, tail swishing leisurely behind her. Realizing the tomcat was probably out on patrol, Seakit's ears drooped and she let out a small sigh. Turning tail she trudged slowly in the direction of the nursery, ears back. It was only a few paw steps before her small paws stumbled over the tail of Willowstripe, letting out a squeak of surprise as she tumbled forward. Scrabbling to her paws, she turned to face the elder, looking fearful for a moment before she recognized him as one of the elders. She hadn't really been over to meet them other than her first time out of the nursery, mostly because the apprentices tended to them and Littlefin liked to keep a close watch on her and Wavekit. Fur sticking up in every direction, she tipped her head back and gazed up at him, curiosity glittered in her eyes. She had dust caked on her fur from the tumble, but it didn't seem to bother her. "Hi!" she squeaked happily. highprince

Creekpaw Dewdrop ʙєωɪᴛᴄʜɪηɢ ηɪɢʜᴛѕʜαɗє ~ ~👻 After giving the vole a couple testing chews Creekpaw was finally confident that the creature was dead and sat it down. Drool dripped from her jaws, embarrassingly so, and the white mottled molly did her best to quickly rid her messy jaws of it by giving her head quick shake. Thankfully it flung off away from the pair and didnt wrap around her muzzle creating for an awkward and even more embarrassing situation. "Well we could head back and hunt along the way." Her suggestion was based off the fact that Dewdrop still seemed to have a sense of worry about him. Maybe it was the river and low low it had become. He did mention wanting to tell Cloudstar about it. Or maybe he didnt want to linger about the low river with it being so easy for the other clans to cross over. They were now vulnerable to attack, and it took till just now for Creekpaw to come to that realization. Maybe it was best that they head deeper into the territory.

Frecklebee
After the last couple days of leaving camp and exploring the territory, Frecklebee was beginning to regret pushing herself as much as she had. As much as she enjoyed to go out there and see the rest of RiverClan’s territory, it was no secret that it did a number on her legs. Having just enough strength to pull herself out of the elders den and rest in a shady spot of camp, Frecklebee looked down at her legs with narrowed eyes. The aching wasn’t unbearable yet, however it was getting there. “Maybe Loonfur has something that can help...” the young elder mused to herself, casting a glance towards the medicine cat den. She would have to pay him a visit soon, once she could muster up the will power to move again, and see if he had anything that would help her aching legs. However right now, Frecklebee really didn’t want to move. That’s when she spotted Hailwhisker. He seemed lost in thought, as if something was bothering him. Tilting her head to the side, Frecklebee adjudged her position a little. “Hello Hailwhisker! Are you alright?” She called out to the gray colored tom, signaling with her tail for him to join her.

Salmonwhisker riverclan camp | accompanied by Velvetfur Salmonwhisker rose elegantly to his feet, stretching his back in a luxurious arch. He twitched his whiskers at Velvetfur's offer to accompany him -- for safety's sake, of course. Not that the charcoal tom ever had any ulterior motives. "You're too kind, Velvetfur," Salmonwhisker purred. "It's truly a wonder you haven't managed to land a mate yet." Was it a compliment? Was it an insult? His sweet tone of voice made it difficult to discern.
The ginger tom stepped into the shallows one paw at a time and shivered pleasantly. In the shade of the trees that fringed the camp island, the water was delightfully cool compared to the warm, still air. He slid eagerly into river until the water rose to his shoulders and his paws left the pebbly floor below. He paddled in a lazy circle, flashing a rakish grin up at Velvetfur. "Well? Are you coming? Or are you going to stand around up there like a water-shy ThunderClan cat?"
Heronglide sunningrocks | accompanied by Silverstep, Sledgestep, & Swanpaw Heronglide shook his head fondly at Swanpaw's absent-minded reply to Sledgestep. At least the apprentice was polite. His mother had raised him well. He lifted his head as the river came into view, sparkling beneath the morning sun. It was disappointingly low and moving sluggishly as well, but at least it would be easier to catch something here than fishing out of rapids. Right on cue, Silverstep pointed out a nearby school of fish and trotted ahead.
The white-and-grey tom paused and waved his tail to get Swanpaw's attention. He beckoned the young tom over and nodded in Silverstep's direction. The silver tabby had already landed a fish on the sun-warmed stones beside her. "Notice how she kept her shadow off of the water when waiting for the right moment to strike?" He asked in a quiet mew. "I'd like to see you try to catch something using the same form. Now, go show your Clanmates what you know." He gave the apprentice a gentle nudge forward.
Wavekit riverclan camp | accompanied by Seakit & Willowstripe Wavekit wriggled around in her nest, woken by the absence of warm fur beside her. She lifted her head and peered blearily over the edge, gazing around in confusion. The nursery was empty except for that one other kit -- Mallowkit was her name, she was pretty sure. The little grey tabby stood up on legs still wobbly from sleep, and, with some effort, clambered out of the nest. She padded over to the nursery entrance and poked her head out, sweeping the camp in her murky green gaze. Where did Mommy and Seakit go? Why had they left without her? It was NOT FAIR and she would NOT PUT UP WITH THIS NONSENSERY.
Frowning, the kitten set out across camp, her gait a little unsteady but confident nonetheless. She was going to get to the bottom of this! Yes sir! Not far away, she spotted a small, smoke-colored tabby gazing up at one of the elders. She knew that face, alright. Fluffing her fur out indignantly, she scampered over to join her sister and pounced on her tail from behind. "AHA!" She cried triumphantly, eyes glittering. "I found you, Seakit!" She sat up and toppled back on her haunches, tilting her head at the other kit. "Whatcha you doin' all the way out here? We're not 'apposed ta leave the nursery by our own self yet, 'member?"

Reedwhistle With Webwhisker A soft purr rumbled out of Reedwhistle's chest. The tabby tom was content to tilt his head back in the warm sunlight. It's beams felt nice as it beat down on his pelt, warming his pelt.
He did enjoy greenleaf. However, he could admit to himself that he was worried about this drought and the future Riverclan. Right now, the river was still there even though it was low. Their fish supply seemed to be dwindling but the clan was still alive and thriving.
A pale gray pelt caught his attention and his green eyes brightened. Reedwhistle swished his tail and padded over towards Webwhisker with a friendly gleam in his eyes. "Good morning!" he greeted the tom with a warm voice. His green eyes bright. "What are you up today? Want to try hunting with me?" he asked, tilting his head to the side. He wouldn't be offended if the younger tom rejected his offer for a hunt.

Webwhisker- Blaze ♡ "Hello!" Webwhisker enthusiastically said to Reedwhistle as the older tom approached him. He stood up and adjusted his posture- after all, Reedwhistle was a -senior warrior-, and the seal point tabby wanted to impress him. Webwhisker couldn't bring himself to harbor bad feelings towards everyone- even Primroseclaw and Weevilfang despite neither of them treating him kindly- but senior warriors and elders, along with the deputy and leader and medicine cat, had his utmost respect. How much they must want to keep him and his friends safe, senior warriors! They had all sorts of cool scars and stories to tell... although it worried Webwhisker a bit. He knew he wasn't a smart cat, or one that was good at hunting and fighting. Would anyone protect him? How would he protect his friends? What did he have that was worth something? Did he have worth?... Webwhisker decided to not think about it. Not thinking about it was the best way to solve the problem. "Oh, nothin' much," said Webwhisker slightly shyly when Reedwhistle asked him about his activities. "Hasn't really been much to do as of late here- I don't think I've had a conversation with anyone for a few days at least!" He immediately perked up at the suggestion of hunting with the dark mackerel tabby. "Aw, shucks- it'd be an honor, sir!"
