Cougartalon went up to Ebonystone. “Hello, Ebonystone. I was wondering if you went on a hunting patrol with me,” he said a little sheepishly. He felt a tad nervous around other she cats since his mate left him in the midst of a very terrible argument about having kits. Cougartalon didn’t like to rush into fatherhood as much as he liked, abd his mate didn’t respect his decision at the time. Now approaching his senior warrior days, he often thought about having his lineage of kits. What would they become? Would they look just like him, or a mix of both his and his mate’s colorations? He shook the thought from his head and grinned awkwardly.

(Thunder, make sure you're heading your post with your character's name and tagging the person you're responding to when role-playing. It'll be easier to see and you may get a quicker response. Also, be sure to read the other posts if you are just posting a starter. You did ignore that Rainstar and Sundapple were assigning patrols.)
(I'll be writing replies. I have a few to do since I took a tiny break.)

- - - Ebonystone [ Thunderheart57] As Cougartalon came up to Ebonystone and his siblings, he tilted his head to the side. Cougartalon wanted to go on a patrol? Well he assumed that made sense, most of the clan liked to go on patrols and stuff, but Ebonystone was fairly certain that Rainstar and Sundapple were currently organizing patrols. “That’s a nice offer, Cougartalon,” Ebonystone started. “But Rainstar and Sundapple are figuring out patrols right now, I wanted to stick around to see if I’m needed,” he explained, idly reaching over to Murkpaw to keep cleaning the top of her head. “Yeah, after these two finish up here-“ Stormwatcher gestured her head towards Ebonystone and Murkpaw. “We were going to see if Rainstar and Sundapple wanted us anywhere,” she explained.

Dapplefern narrowed her eyes at Birchlight. "This little scrap of fur is giving me a lecture?!" she thought to herself. In truth, the irritated she-cat failed to read the true intentions Birchlight had. Dovestripe won this round and that left a bitter taste in the she-cat's mouth. Even though she tried to resist the urge to argue, the brown tabby couldn't help herself. "Fine, but if he disappears off towards the SkyClan border, the responsibility falls on you as our patrol leader." she huffed before distancing herself between the two cats.
She kept padding on, though paced herself a few pawsteps back. Maybe they would find something on the border to report to Sundapple. If anything, she wanted to avoid her sister. Rainstar wouldn't be happy to hear Dapplefern stirring things up to annoy Dovestripe. Her face twisted as she thought about how Birchlight would be seen in the right. "Ugh, this majorly sucks!" The atmosphere felt tense and begrudging. Dapplefern truly hated it. coding & icon image by officialrainleafwcf Nodding her thanks, the calico remained still for a moment more. Giving out a big sigh, she slid forward and stretched her limbs once more. "Be careful on the ShadowClan border!" she called over her shoulder. Rainstar had taken note of a few warriors leaving camp already, so it seemed the urge to hurry out on a patrol notarized by Sundapple subsided. It still made her happy that everyone was so willing to go out hunting or patrolling. Stagstar certainly helped built ThunderClan in a way that was beneficial to her and their new deputy.
Taking another glance around the camp, Rainstar noticed Ebonystone with Murkpaw, Stormwatcher, and Cougartalon. "Hmm, what's going on here?" she asked herself, trotting on over. "Greetings!" she mewed softly to her Clanmates. Her eyes surveyed the warriors before she continued on. Ebonystone was taking care of Murkpaw's coat, something a mother would normally do. The leader suppressed a purr of amusement, though her eyes betrayed her intentions. With the warm gaze, she turned to Cougartalon. "I have seen a few warriors take off for patrols, if you want, I can go with you on one. We can take Nightwing and Stormwatcher!" Rainstar suggested, quickly turning her head to the other tom. "I don't mind where we go, but I know Sundapple is going to check the ShadowClan patrol."
Rainstar turned to Murkpaw. "I think Dawntangle wouldn't mind if you joined Sundapple, it would be a good experience to go without your mentor." the leader suggested. It felt like a long time ago that Murkpaw was in the nursery. Even though she was three moons older than her kits, the she-cat remembered helping out for a short time with the young cat. It was something she wouldn't mention out loud to save Murkpaw from embarrassment, but it was a memory she was fond of. A lot of the younger apprentices would probably remember the leader being there with them too. Shaking her head to clear it, Rainstar returned her focus to the matter at hand. coding & icon image by officialrainleafwcf breezewhisker of riverclan accompanied by: boulderheart of riverclan [highprince ] Breezewhisker remained silent, only giving nods to Boulderheart. The two had to keep quiet and hurry with their catch. If they were caught, it could mean a few things. Either they would be chased back to RiverClan with a few scratches and bites, an escort back by ThunderClan warriors and Cloudstar's potential wrath, or ThunderClan keeping the warriors as prisoners in their camp. He hated all of those options and didn't want to bother thinking about even worse ones. As long as Boulderheart and Breezewhisker were quick, they could leave with their fur remaining on their pelts.
As he searched around the rocks, Breezewhisker's ear flicked in response to hearing scrabbling. His whiskers twitched and the tom slid into a crouch. He held in his breath as he neared the sound. For a second, the scratching stopped and a small squeak sounded. Breezewhisker refused to move. His eyes remained on the spot, fixated on potential food for the elders. If he failed this, then he might as well forget about convincing the elders. Once the sound started up again, the gray tom eased closer, giving a heartbeat before proceeding with each step. coding & icon image by officialrainleafwcf

Snowypaw had just finished the last of the moss from her fur, leaving her white fur pristine. Satisfied with her work, she padded over to the fresh-kill pile and sank her teeth into an especially juicy-looking mouse. If nothing else, Greenleaf had brought with it an abundance of prey. Well, for now. With the drought showing no signs of relenting it was only a matter of time before the prey began to dry up along with the river.
With that thought, Snowypaw dropped the mouse back into the pile, leaving it for a queen or elder, and picked a scrawnier vole instead. How much longer would the drought continue?
Just as she finished her vole, Snowypaw overheard Rainstar and Sundapple organizing patrols. The name ShadowClan caught her attention. She remembered the rumored Thunderpath tunnels and curiosity prickled her pelt. This was her chance to investigate.
The white she-cat sprang to her feet. “Can I go, too? To the ShadowClan border?” She mewed, trotting over to Sundapple, tail high in the air. She was itching to get out of camp, and the thought of seeing the Thunderpath had her buzzing with excitement.

- - - Murkpaw [ ʀᴀɪɴʟᴇᴀғ 🍁, Thunderheart57, Ivyfalcon, Sand, ʙєωɪᴛᴄʜɪηɢ ηɪɢʜᴛѕʜαɗє ~ ~👻, kiwi cheesecake, highprince, planetesimal] It was one thing to have Ebonystone smother her in front of Stormwatcher, it was another thing for him to smother her in front of a warrior like Cougartalon, however it was a completely different thing for him to smother her in front of the clan leader. As soon as Murkpaw saw Rainstar approach, she squirmed away from Ebonystone’s grip, falling flat on her stomach with a loud “oomph” next to him. Quickly, she sat up straight and shook her fur to get any loose dust off. “Rainstar! Hi!” Murkpaw squeaked out, doing her best to regain what little bit of her dignity she had left. Sure Rainstar had helped her out a lot back when Murkpaw was still a kit, and in a lot of ways Murkpaw had even begun to see her a sort of mother figure, however that didn’t mean she was gonna act like an idiot around her. Murkpaw wanted Rainstar to be proud of Murkpaw, and see that she was perfectly capable of handling whatever StarClan threw at her and she couldn’t do that when her brother was coddling her all the time. Stuck in her internal rant, it was only when Stormwatcher spoke up that Murkpaw snapped out of it. “A patrol sounds great, I’m ready when you are,” Stormwatcher said, standing up to her full height. Murkpaw looked up at her and blinked in awe. Stormwatcher had gotten the tall, big, intimidating genes from their father, while Ebonystone and Murkpaw had gotten the furry, long body, tiny genes of their mother. Quite frankly, Murkpaw had more often than not, compared herself and Ebonystone to weasels or really furry snakes. Honestly Murkpaw envied the strong build that her sister had. If she looked like Stormwatcher, all the other apprentices would definitely take her seriously and fear her. Blinking, Murkpaw turned her attention back to Rainstar as she mentioned a patrol. “Right, I’ll go catch up with them,” she said quickly, not wanting Rainstar to think she wasn’t listening or something. Murkpaw stayed where she was for a moment or so longer before giving everyone there a quick, curt nod. “...Bye,” she said and before Ebonystone could try to flatten the tuft of fur on her head one more time, Murkpaw started off towards the forming patrol. “Hey! Wait for me!” She called out, not watching where she was going. Which was a bad thing because she either tripped over her own paws or she tripped over nothing - and quite frankly, Murkpaw wasn’t sure which was worse - and tumbled forward, hitting the ground with an oomph as dirt flew in the air. Murkpaw blinked, but didn’t bother to stand up. “...Rainstar said I could come,” she explained weakly from her spot on the ground. Murkpaw might get to go on this patrol, but it was pretty clear to her that her dignity had not also been invited.

The tom nodded. “Sure, I’ll accompany you on patrol, Rainstar,” he said while dipping his head in respect. Cougartalon flicked his tail goodbye to Ebonystone and the rest of the group and followed his leader to the patrol group.

Berryleaf sundapple & snowypaw // thunderclan camp Berryleaf's morning had been slow so far. She hadn't even spoken to anyone yet, and nothing depressed Berryleaf more than being alone. She had to constantly surround herself with others, with laughing and smiling and stories. Maybe she was insecure, always concerned over how others saw her to the point that she couldn't stand an unhappy face. Berryleaf liked to think that she just had a big heart - she had honestly expected to be named Berryheart. She hid her disappointment with her actual name, as that would have been unbelievably rude. She shuddered at the thought.
She heard that a patrol to the ShadowClan border was being organized, and she was ready to jump at the chance. That would surely add some excitement to her morning. Seeing her apprentice approach Sundapple, Berryleaf followed after, giving Snowypaw an annoying cheerful smile. "If Snowypaw's on the border patrol, I should tag along too. You know, as her mentor and everything," she said, looking at the deputy hopefully.
Boulderheart of RiverClanbreezewhisker // sunningrocks
Boulderheart relaxed as he saw Breezewhisker drop into a hunting crouch. The sooner they got prey, the better. While Boulderheart wasn't scared of Cloudstar's wrath, or fighting ThunderClan cats, he did fear the embarrassment that would come from being held prisoner by ThunderClan and being dragged home like kits. He kept his eyes on the woods, making sure no ThunderClan warriors were approaching. He flexed his claws, ready to fight if it came down to it. He wouldn't mind giving them a scar or two to remember him by.

the north forest; with yellowtail ;
Child murder. This was normal for feral battle cats – right? Nothing small, squirming, and fleshy was off-limits; sans kits and, perhaps, poisonous toads. Thymesong watches his brother and his brother watches the tree-tops. They had walked her side-by-side, two golden coats speckling the forest like sunlight breaking through the trees. Thymesong has a slightly darker coat than his brother; more golden, more dappled; more of a luster to Yellowtail’s brightness. And Yellowtail was bright in personality. Thymesong had not forgot this; the way that Yellowtail sparkled when he was given attention, or made to feel worthy. The ginger tom treated his brother like a younger sibling. He realized that now. He wanted to take care of him, and protect him but was that infantilizing? Thymesong wasn’t a deep thinker. He didn’t dig deep into himself and introspect. So, he shoves the thought to the side. He was a warrior. It was his job to protect. Yellowtail was his brother but also a clan-mate. Thymesong was just doing his job. Now, back to child murder.
“Good points”, Thymesong whispers, accompanied by a silent flick of his tail. “If we wait for the mother, we can get them all, though.”
The tom scanned the area, looking for a place where the sunlight was striking a tree with particular vibrancy. When he spotted it, up in the branches of the oak next to them, which had branches right above the nest and tangling with the other tree, he flicked his tail towards his brother. “See that bright spot? We can hide out there.”

“Good morning, Berryleaf!” Snowypaw greeted cheerfully, bumping her head against her mentor’s chin. She was excited to be getting out of camp, and even more so now that Berryleaf was joining them.
The little she-cat jumped, fur bristling with startled surprise, when Murkpaw all but bowled right into the middle of the patrol. Like most of the other apprentices, Murkpaw was younger than her but rivalled Snowypaw in enthusiasm.
“Murkpaw? Are you okay?” Concern colored her voice as she inspected the gray she-cat. The younger apprentice didn’t seem badly hurt, just embarrassed and a little dirty. Snowypaw’s ear twitched, “Does it hurt anywhere? Maybe you should go see Cottonfang, just to be safe, y’know? What if you twisted your paw? Does your paw hurt? You might have twisted it.”

dovestripeaccompanied by birchlight & dapplefern | patrol It was quite a surprise for Dovestripe that Birchlight had chosen to take the classy, more mature route compared to Dapplefern's. He glanced at Birchlight, dipping his head before continuing and passing Dapplefern whule padding ahead. To Dovestripe, it was clear that the brown tabby was bitter about Birchlight standing up to her. Who wouldn't stand up to Dapplefern, especially with such a sour attitude like hers? In his opinion, the silver tabby she-cat had made an excellent decision.
The grey tabby snorted, rolling his green eyes slowly. "As if I would disappear off to the SkyClan border. I'm old and experienced enough to know where a patrol is going, you know," he retorted back at Dapplefern, holding back a low hiss. "However, I know a special someone who would blame their patrol leader for anything, even if it wasn't her fault."
He came to a pause for a moment, wondering if he should dig in deeper and bother Dapplefern some more. He wanted to call out her behavior for how she treated Birchlight, but would it bother the she-cat in question? Birchlight had done nothing wrong but make the right decision and shot Dapplefern's kit-like behavior down. Now that the leader's sister had distanced herself from the patrol, it didn't feel as tense. Maybe the rest of the patrol would go smoothly, though Dovestripe doubted it with all of his being.
The senior warrior turned to glance at Birchlight before mewing quietly, "Thanks, Birchlight. I appreciate it." He then padded onward, staying besides the muscular she-cat but not too close. He was going to treat Dapplefern's snide attacks as if they were nothing. image source - unsplash | highprince & ʀᴀɪɴʟᴇᴀғ 🍁

yellowtail- 𝓑𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐫 ♥ The dandelion-colored tabby nodded at his brother's suggestion, and slowly crawled himself up into the branch. It gave a little, clearly unused to his weight, but not so much that it felt unstable. In fact, Yellowtail thought, this would make a great place to leap from. He noticed a slight alarm in his brother- how long was that there? Did I only notice it now? I hope I didn't mess up already- but he followed Thymesong's gaze to the nest, which almost glowed with the fresh sunlight that smelled of leaves. "They're fledgelings," said Yellowtail. "If they want to leave the nest when we pounce, they can leave. They're plenty old enough.) (He was beginning to sound like his father, he realized. That was a good thing, because it made him more likable. Right? Everyone liked Goldenclaw..) He looked back with a grin towards his brother as the sound of slapping wings slowly drew near. There was something in his brother's gaze that felt... off. Not in a bad way, but in a way that didn't feel quite right, like a claw that was slightly longer than all the others or a scab inside one's cheek. The kind of 'not quite right' that slowly dug into you and yet puzzled you as to if it was really there- and if it was really there, where it was exactly. (Yellowtail knew the feeling all too well. He had had it around his mentor- and, for a brief moment, his father. But Thymesong wasn't like either of them because Yellowtail knew Thymesong like the tip of his nose, and if anything troubled Thymesong about him Thymesong would always tell him. -Right? He hoped so.) Another moment and Yellowtail couldn't see the something anymore. But the question of how his brother viewed him stuck to the back of his mind like honey.

Speckledheart The cream molly was at the fresh kill pile when her ears perked up at the mention of a Shadowclan Patrol she looked around her wondering what was going on. Until she saw some of clan mates go to Sundapple. She looked at the thunderclan deputy moving towards him as she was with the group she cleared her throat getting rid of any nervousness she had. "May I join the patrol?" she asked. She didn't mind if her deputy would reject her and give her some other task to do. Honestly, it was better than sitting around like a mouse-brain doing nothing. She looked around and saw Snowypaw and Berryleaf together.

the north forest; with yellowtail ;
The branch trembled with the weight of two toms; weak to the startling weight of gold. Yellowtail had taken the lead, climbing the tree with the agility inborn in ThunderClan cats. From the way Yellowtail slithered up the tree, he could be SkyClan blood. Granted, ThunderClan blood and SkyClan blood were intimately connected. Their founders were kin – did you know that? ThunderClan was the child of SkyClan. The son that slays its father, the apprentice which will always, as the stories prophecy, overtake their mentor. Thymesong was stockier than Yellowtail. His blood was thickened with orthodox ThunderClan features. Large paws. Heavy fur. Strong hind-legs. He was less nimble than Yellowtail, and thus slower on the climb up. Regardless, the tom followed, for once, in his brothers pawsteps. Mustering as much grace as he could. Remaining silent through force of will.
Yellowtail’s ears twitched first, alerting Thymesong to the approaching flutter of wings. The beat was quick. Small bird. Song bird. The mother, perhaps. Thymesong nestled himself next to his brother, side pressed against him, huddled in the pool of sunlight. He waited. A few moments later, a female goldfinch flashed into view. The black and gold was hard to miss. She was small, as her chicks were, but would do. Her life for theirs. One for one. Six for two, if you count the fledglings. But who’s counting. Not Thymesong. He doesn’t know what a number is.
The tom lowered himself down into a crowd and whispered to Yellowtail, in a voice lower than the high-pitched and eager chirps of baby birds, “I’ll go for the nest”, implying that Yellowtail should attack the mother.
The other tom was a better bird-catcher than Thymesong, after all. Thymesong wasn’t light enough for it. He was weighed down by both physique and ego. It gave him a big head.
The tom crept forward a few pawsteps along the branch, and sprung.

Tigertail // Thunderclan camp [@wonderfulalexander] ✸✸❣✸✸
Thistlepaw pushed his way from the warriors den, his fur spiked in clumps, as he let his jaws stretch in a huge yawn. He sat with a thump, before beginning to groom the scraps of moss from his tangled fur. He grumbled a little, still feeling down about not being allowed to go to the gathering. He'd been restless, until the apprentices that had the pleasure of going, returned home. He'd pestered the other apprentices, until they informed him of all the things that had happened at the gathering.
His mind traveled to the news that the Skyclan apprentice, Bravepaw, had fallen and broken his legs. And now, it was forbidden by their leader, to climb trees. He gave a tiny shudder, thinking about falling from a tree, and busting his legs. That had to be the most awful thing. Not to mention the pain you would be in..But to never be a warrior. Thistlepaw couldn't even imagine.
Getting the final tangles from his flank, Thistlepaw stood, letting his yellow gaze, travel the camp for his mentor. Not seeing the old tom, anywhere in sight, Thistlepaw padded towards the Warriors den. "Tigertail.? Are you in there.?" He felt bad for disturbing the tom, if he was sleeping. The apprentice was just ready to be out and doing something. He didn't want to just sit around the camp and do nothing.

Open // The Great Sycomore [Sand (Dawnrangle can join her if you'd like.?)] ✸✸❣✸✸
The orange furred she-cat slunk through the shadows of the forest, trying to hide her bright orange pelt. It was hard for her, among the green of the forest around her. She was heading to The Great Sycamore. One of her favorite places, since the day she had been introduced to it as an apprentice. She warrior moved faster, the wind blowing through her long fur. Letting out a purr of joy, she stretched her legs out, forcing them to move faster, until she was just a faint blur among the forest floor.
Skidding to a halt, as she reached the giant tree, her amber eyes, large and full of awe. She gazed up, her head completely back, eyes searching among the tangle of sturdy branches. She was panting, as she tried to catch her breath from the run. Her orange fur was fluffed up. as she realized how hot it was. At least she had the shade of the trees. She couldn't imagine being Windclan, and having the sun beating down on her.
With a loud mreow, Amberblaze jumped upwards, digging her claws into the trunk, of the great sycamore. She waved her tail behind her, trying to keep her balance. Clawing her way up the trunk, she stopped at the first branch. She scooted along the branch, keeping her claws curled into the branch as she did so. She finally settled, sprawling along the branch, letting her paws, dangle from the sides. Her tail rested on the branch behind her, and she closed her eyes, letting out a happy sigh.
Speckledflame Open // Clear Spring Brook [ ] ☀☀✬☀☀
Speckledflame lay sprawled out beside the Clear Spring Brook, that flowed through Thunderclans Territory. The Brown and orange spotted elder, had snuck away from the group of cat that was returning home from the gathering, to have time for herself. She lay with her front paws, dipping into the dwindling stream, her whitening muzzle resting on her front legs. Her eyes were closed, and she was purring.
Ears pricked, to listen to the forest around her, she started to feel herself dozing off. Suddenly, she wondered if anyone had noticed her disappearance. It wouldn't surprise her. The older molly just hoped that her clanmates wouldn't worry too much about her. She kind of hoped that someone would come along to join her. She found being an elder, to be completely lonely and she felt like an outcast, most of the time.
Being unable to do most tasks now, Speckledflame was forced to retire. Cursing her joints, for giving up on her, before she was ready to leave the warriors den. Arthritis had taken its toll on her, moons ago. She had been forced to retire, when she was 70 moons old. She'd spent almost 2 seasons, in the elders den now. It amazed her, how time had flown by. How many apprentices, she had watched become warriors, in that time. Even watching the changes in leadership and deputy positions. With a sigh, she thought about how she had dreamed of becoming deputy one day. Maybe she would have been, if she hadn't struggled for so long, with achy hips. Even as a younger apprentice, she had struggled.

dawntangleaccompanied by Amberblaze | the great sycamoreTrailing after Amberblaze, Dawntangle had followed the warrior to the Great Sycamore. He was a bit on the lazy side today, but that was due to watching Coltpaw and Fennelpaw for what felt like moons. It lasted for the length of the gathering and then some. He was thankful that the day had turned to another and he could now enjoy a hunt in silence.
It wasn't that the ginger and white tom didn't like being with his kits, it's just that he was tired of their antics. For one day, just one day, could they behave? Coltpaw had used his mother's position as leader to gain something and Fennelpaw gladly created trouble to go with it. He rolled his amber eyes before reaching the Great Sycamore, where Amberblaze was climbing up and settling on a branch.
He scoured the area with his maw open, hoping to scent some prey. The warrior knew that ThunderClan, of all the clans, was thriving despite the drought and heat wave. The question was... when would the good times end for them?
Ignoring his thought, he glanced up at Amberblaze. "Hear anything?" he asked in a hushed tone. image source - pixabay | ♥𝔉𝔯𝔬𝔰𝔱ℜ𝔬𝔰𝔢♥

With: Dawntangle // The Great Sycomore [Sand ] ✸✸❣✸✸
Amberblaze kept her ears pricked, as she lay on the branch. Her ears swiveled, as she heard the scuttling of a squirrel, in the tree near hers. She opened her eyes, narrowing them slightly, as she spotted it, working its way to the forest floor, unaware that Dawntangle was there. The orange she-cat, waved her tail to silence Dawntangle, as the tom asked her if she could hear anything. She swiveled her ears, towards the squirrel, hoping he would spot it, and move into a better position.
Getting as slowly and silently to her paws, as she could, Amberblaze crouched, keeping her tail still, and her ears up. Her gaze pierced into the squirrel, her mouth starting to water, as she picked up its scent. She had the temptation to jump for it, but knew it was too dangerous, and she could end up getting hurt in the process. She started to slink along her branch, hoping that she could get close enough, to scare the creature, right into the paws of Dawntangle, if it attempted to climb back up the other tree.

thunderclan camp ; with anyone ;
The dawn patrol came and went and Teaflower followed alongside it. Remember, the dawn patrol is her tradition. She has named herself it’s commander-in-chief. She is an early riser. What else is she going to do with her time? Lay in her nest all day, watching the hours whittle away like a pebble eroding on the RiverClan shore? No. Teaflower was out and about; she was running, and stretching, and day-dreaming about running and stretching as she explored. Grinning to her clanmates. Grinning to the sky. She would grin to SkyClan, or any clan, too, if she happened to stumble upon them. They did not this morning – though the SkyClan stench was particularly strong on the border. A sign? No. Squirrelstar wouldn’t. Not with all the bad that was going on in the other clans right now. This was a time for peace, and for taking care of each other. She knew that. Cloudstar had said as much, last night. And Teaflower knew that Rainstar must know it too. The she-cat was a mother, after all. Mother’s knew consequence. As such, Teaflower lay in camp, yawning, until, oddly, a strange scent caught the back of her throat. "That's odd."
She couldn’t immediately identify it; it was fox-ish but not fox. It wasn’t feral enough. The she-cat stood up and crept towards the entrance of camp. The scent was faint, but there all the same. A lost two-leg dog, perhaps? Small and trotting stupidly through the forest?

thunderclan camp ; with anyone ;
The sunlight on the sweet summer morning is dazzling. Thymesong stretches his legs as he pads through camp, pawsteps leaving gentle imprints on the still-green grass. This season had been sweet on ThunderClan. The rest of the clans were struggling with the weather, that much as obvious from the tales passed between cats after the gathering, but ThunderClan would thrive. As they always did. The ginger tom moseyed his way over to the fresh-kill pile, selecting a plump mouse from the neat stack of prey. It must have been a kill from last night, perhaps on the way back from the gathering, because it tasted fresh and succulent on his tongue. This was how Thymesong liked to spend his mornings; relaxed and baptized in the blood of his prey.
While eating, the tom let his gaze drift through camp. It was quiet, this early in the morning. Teaflower was awake, as usual, and was walking small circles outside the apprentice’s den. Perhaps she was looking for Fawnpaw again. The bob-tailed she-cat always seemed hot in pursuit of her apprentice. Never with her, always a few steps behind. Certainly they would want to be keeping a better eye on the apprentices now, though, since Squirrelstar had made what had been interpreted and reinterpreted by some as a closeted threat upon ThunderClan’s trees. As if SkyClan would cross the border to climb their trees. There was no magical difference between the trees over there and here; no wall erected where the boundary stood that said, “SkyClan trees, you have to be fragile and lame while our trees can continue to grow strong”. That was stupid. Maybe Squirrelstar was stupid, though. Branchstar certainly was, thinking she could take back all her land from ThunderClan without recompense. Hah.
Thymesong was mulling over the idea of going hunting near the SkyClan border, just to see how the trees were looking, when he was interrupted.

thunderclan camp ; with anyone ;
Fawnpaw Camp || Finds mentor Teaflower 𝓑𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐫 ♥ The apprentice had been late to waking, and it was as if her subconscious was screaming for her to rise. Waking with a jolt the golden dappled feline jumped to her paws. It took her a moment to realize what was going on. "I'm late!" She gasped as the sunlight managed to peak it's way into the apprentices den. Leaping over the still sleeping apprentices Fawnpaw rushed out of the den and into the camps clearing. "Teaflower has probably left without me", she exasperated. The molly knew by now that her mentor was fond of the dawn patrol and her amber eyes quickly scanned the camps clearing for her mentors familiar pelt. To her surprise, Teaflower happened to be moving towards the camps entrance. 'Just in time!' She thought happy that she wasn't left behind. Pelt disheveled from sleep Fawnpaw raced after her mentor. "I'm here Teaflower, sorry I over slept", the apology came quick as she reached her mentors side. The apprentice had no idea that her mentor was on the trail of something, and looked curiously upon Teaflower waiting for her attention to turn to her.

g r a y p a w { in camp w/ open } Graypaw had exited the apprentices den just moments ago, mouth parted in a huge yawn as she trotted out slowly, green eyes glazed over from sleep. The sun hit her ruffled, messy fur and she wagged her stubbed tail back and forth to shake out the matted down fur. Tufted ears flicking softly, she settled outside the entrance of the apprentices den, rasping her tongue across her fluffed up fur to smooth it out. After a decent cleaning session, the newest apprentice stood up, her paws shuffled beneath her as she gazed around camp, searching for Leaftumble. Her excitement for the day dwindled as she realized the Molly was nowhere to be found. She hadn't even been to the gathering last night, and it was Graypaw's first gathering! Wishing she had more time to train with her mentor, the young she-cat sighed. She felt a bit outcasted due to sharing her apprentice ceremony and training with their leader's kits. She understood that it wasn't a purposeful thing, but being overshadowed by her denmates did make her a bit uncomfortable. She wasn't interested in being in the spotlight, but it seemed no one had taken an interest in her training recently, especially with the drought and all. I wonder if I can catch her coming back from patrol.. she wondered lightly, bounding over to the camp entrance and flopping on her haunches. If Leaftumble was too busy to train today, maybe someone else would take her on!

@ tagCougartalon- ThunderClan Camp (open) Cougartalon noticed Greypaw and saw that Leaftumble wasn’t around. “Hello, Greypaw. Where’s Leaftumble?” He asked the apprentice. The large tom shifted his gaze around camp looking for the mentor’s pelt colors. Finally, he turned to her. “If she isn’t available, I could take you out for battle practice or hunting techniques,” he offered.

g r a y p a w in camp with Cougartalon Graypaw had been sitting by the entrance for a bit, ears perked for any sign of life, though to her dismay there was none. The small gray and white Molly had been hoping to learn how to hunt today, perhaps learn a few defensive moves or even to swim. She knew Leaftumble was a busy warrior and important to the clan, but she couldn't help and feel a pang of sadness wash over her as she realized her mentor most likely wouldn't be around today. Oh great, now I'm going to get a million sympathy stares, she thought begrudgingly, wishing she could sink into the sand beneath her and disappear. It wasn't until Cougartalon's deep mew sounded by her that the stubbed-tailed apprentice straightened up, blue eyes flashing with nervousness as he offered her a training session. She shuffled her paws beneath her, glancing around as he waited patiently for her answer. "Erm, would Leaftumble be upset if she found out?" she mewed at last, her small voice tinged with worry. "I don't want to upset her, or Rainstar or anything.." the young molly trailed off, biting her lip nervously as her gaze dropped to her paws.

tigertail- ♥𝔉𝔯𝔬𝔰𝔱ℜ𝔬𝔰𝔢♥ Hearing the familiar voice of his apprentice, Tigertail- who had been slowly waking up- lifted himself from the bed the same way one lifts a cinderblock. He rolled his shoulders- his back disagreed with him more and more these days- and shifted the gaze of his one working eye to Thistlepaw. Part of him was slightly annoyed at the smaller brown tabby for waking him up- although of course none of his body language suggested this- but the annoyance quickly drifted into the wind when Tigertail remembered how early he would wake up his own mentor when he was this age. Tigertail's mentor had been a molly named Whiteflower, and perhaps his vision of her had been softened over all these seasons by nostalgia. A large, fluffy molly- all white except for red splotches on her ears and a red tail- with striking blue eyes, she had been nothing but gentle to the tabby tom, even though he was quite a handful at apprentice age. How he wished he could tell her now of all the apprentices he taught, apprentices that had taught him... but it had been too late for a while. She'd been gone for eighty moons now, taken in the night when Greencough quietly cupped its hand over her eyes, her fur dulling and her tail gently twitching to a stop. "Hello, Thistlepaw." He smiled warmly. "You're up early- would you like to go out hunting today? I've heard pheasants are in the area, kid- there's nothing like sinking your claws into one of those."
