( just putting this here because why not ) sparrowtuft of WindClanaccompanied by WindClan | four treesWith the Gathering finally coming to an end, Sparrowtuft leapt down from the great oaks. He padded towards where most of his clanmates were seated and glanced around, making sure no cat was missing. Everyone seemed to be in the right place which was a good sign to him.
”WindClan, let’s head home!” he called, making his way for the trees. image source - unknown |

Snakestorm | Exiting fourtrees | open
A snore was all the gathering was at least to the RiverClan warrior who hadn't been paying it as much attention as she should have. The leaders had said their words, the anouncements hadn't given her much food for thought when it came down to it. The warrior had been patient enough to wait until the gathering was finally over that she watched her beloved leader stepped down from the perch. It had wrapped up nicely without any issue she could forsee allowing herself to step in line with her clan.

Batstar @ everyone I guess | With ShadowClan
Leading her clan down into the shady covering of Fourtrees, Batstar tried to ignore the heat as it clung heavily to her pelt. She wasn’t looking forward to this gathering, not with everything that had happened in her own clan since the last one. However it would be nice to see some familiar, friendly faces again. Specifically the face of the SkyClan leader, Squirrelstar. Once her clan filled into the clearing, Batstar gave a quick glance around. It seemed as if they were the first ones here, that was fine by her. Batstar flicked her tail, a signal to her clan that they could disperse and begin to mingle, even though they were the first here. The other clans would be arriving soon, and then they could talk amongst the others. After the signal had been given, Batstar quietly slipped further into Fourtrees, waiting for the other clans to arrive.

Squirrelstar With SkyClan/Batstar Fourtrees Her eyes scanned the trees ahead, checking if the other clans had arrived yet or if she would be the first to go. With a quick signal, she brought her clan into the clearing. The moon was hanging in the sky, casting a dim light onto them. She took a deep breath, breaking away and heading to where the other leader's would gather. Batstar was already here with no other leader in sight. Already it was off to a great start for her. In a single leap, she was atop the rock and taking place beside the molly. She cast a side eye over to her before fully turning her head.
"I kind of solved my tree problem." She whispered, not wanting to risk another leader showing up and overhearing them. Usually, she would wait till after the announcement have been said to talk to Batstar like this but she couldn't contain herself any longer. The stress had built up in her so long and it felt...relaxing to be able to talk to someone she trusted. N/A-smore maybe uwu

Cloudstar » Another moon, another gathering. The phases of the moon seemed to be going faster and faster the older Cloudstar got, and she couldn’t help but wonder just how fast the moons would go by once she was even older.
It was certainly an interesting thought to muse over, but Cloudstar knew that tonight was one of those nights where she had to come forth and be a leader. She was always a leader, but this was where she had to take her place with the other Clans and represent RiverClan, a night where she was the bearer of news and things to come. The heatwave was still upon them, and that was mostly what Cloudstar had to talk about for the gathering a second moon in a row, but maybe she could at least offer some guidance and reassurance for those who were worried. She could tell the Clans about her shared land with SkyClan. Perhaps that would get the other leaders to see that it was better to be friends rather than enemies at this time. Cloudstar didn’t think it was ever a time to be enemies with others, but right now the Clans needed to be allied rather than pulled apart more than ever.
The sight of Fourtrees and the powerful scent of other Clans pulled Cloudstar out of her thoughts. As she neared the thickets that surrounded the sacred ground, the lilac molly paused in her steps, tail held out in a signal for her warriors to stand behind her. Once all seemed safe and sound, Cloudstar motioned for them to push through the thicket. ”RiverClan, with me,” she called out with a quick look at her shoulder, briefly pausing to look at her deputy and medicine cat to give them a nod before she herself pushed through the bushes and entered the Fourtrees clearing.

Teaselstar
Teaselstar slunk in, bringing WindClan with him. He held his head held slightly downwards, blue eyes glinting for who had already arrived in the clearing. He half expected to be ambushed with questions at any moment regarding his previous absence. The night was still early, but ShadowClan and SkyClan had arrived even earlier. He did not care to make small talk and sat directly in front of the shadow of the high stone rather than jumping up and joining the chatty mollies. His large ears swiveled behind him as he tried to listen in on what they were saying, wondering what it could be about.

Batstar
Batstar perked her ears as the sound of approaching paw steps echoed around her. The other clans were arriving. First came SkyClan, then RiverClan, and then WindClan. “Hmm, ThunderClan seems to be running late,” she thought to herself as she watched the cats split away from their own clans and mingle with the others, however her attention was soon diverted as the SkyClan leader approached her. A small purr rumbled in the back of her throat as Batstar nodded in greeting to her old friend. “Kind of?” Batstar inquired with a flick of her ears. “What do you mean, ‘kind of?’” She asked. If anything it was nice that Squirrelstar had made some progress in the tree climbing problem. With the marsh drying up, Batstar could understand feeling helpless in your own territory, and although there wasn’t much to be done about the marsh, perhaps there was something to do about the trees.

Lizardpaw kept pace with her mentor as their leader navigated the familiar path to the fourtrees. The she-cat’s usually heavy stride had an enthusiastic spring to it as they walked, her chin lifted and gaze attentive as the scent of the other clan’s strengthened. Hearing Cloudstar’s words, she tossed a quick glance in her mentor’s direction, flashing a shameless grin. “I haven’t been to one of these in a couple moons,” she explained offhandedly, her gaze returning to the path ahead of them. “Y’know, I can never tell if all the gatherings I miss are just painfully boring - or if everyone in the apprentices’ den just lacks the knack for creative story telling. I’ll be the only elder with anything interesting to say one day, I swear,” she flicked her tail in amusement, looking to Mockingjay to see if they’d caught onto her teasing. “You think anything particularly interesting will come up tonight?” She meowed this in a lower tone, leaning her head towards her mentor in a more shushed manner as they entered the clearing. Gooseleap of WC - @/no one (mentions Teaselstar and Sparrowtuft) Gooseleap followed his clan into the clearing with a lowered head, the tall tom keeping himself close to the front of the group. His downward gaze flicked briefly towards his leader as the other tom left to the fourtrees without any word of parting, his gaze then traveled to Sparrowtuft to see if he had any reaction. From what his brother could recall, the deputy had handled his responsibilities quite well last gathering - so the grey tom was curious to see how closely Sparrowtuft would be watching how well Teaselstar behaved in the same position. He tracked deeper into the clearing and seated himself somewhere appropriately close to where the leaders would be conversing. A front row seat often made him a subject to pesky small talk, but he’d rather sacrifice himself to conversation than miss out on anything important that could only be gleaned from close proximity. Brown eyes lifted to the leaders that were already present, watching patiently as more cats continued to fill the space around him. (hopefully im free to post ^^’)

Squirrelstar With Batstar Fourtrees She looked over to Cloudstar, wondering if the leader would even want her to tell the others about their agreement. This isn't just some leader though, it's Batstar. She brought her eyes back to the ShadowClan leader, purring. "I worked out a deal with Cloudstar to share some territory." Of course, Batstar might not agree with that kind of tactic but she couldn't tell her about her other plan involving ThunderClan just yet, it would risk Rainstar overhearing when she arrived. "I know, I know, it's not exactly very...traditional for clans to share territory but we need it. It's difficult with no rain and I need any help I can take." She gave a pitiful laugh, trying to make it seem less severe with humor. "Who would have thought me, the headstrong, claws first into battle, warrior would wind up striking up a peaceful deal like that." She sighed once more, giving away to the true feelings she had during all of this.
"How are you handling right now? I hope you're fairing better than my own clan." 𝕊’𝕞𝕠𝕣𝕖

sparrowtuft of windclanaccompanied by WindClan, mentions Gooseleap & Teaselstar | four treesSparrowtuft padded after Teaselstar carefully, his green eyes scouring the clearing for the other clans. Last time he was here, he sat with the leaders in Teaselstar's absence. Thankfully, that wouldn't be the case this time around. He had caught Gooseleap's gaze, only to respond with a grin. With the WindClan leader off to the high stone, the deputy felt the urge to push Teaselstar towards the other leaders. Maybe it was just nerves though. After all, it was his first gathering as WindClan's leader.

RabbitfootRabbitfoot schlepped his cobby body along, closely behind but never intruding upon WindClan's pale-furred leader. He could tell Teaselstar was tense, but how much of it was over the Gathering and how much it had been over the recent dry heat, and how much of it was the simple reality of being a leader, Rabbitfoot was uncertain. That was something he could relate to Teaselstar with that he had never been able to relate to Dawnstar with: Anxiety! Hooray! And then that was when it sunk into Rabbitfoot: I'm going to have to explain that illness Teaselstar had. And everyone's going to be mad at me, and everyone will hate me, and then- It wasn't that Rabbitfoot believed he didn't deserve the hate. Hell, he could barely look at himself most of the time- he was, through his eyes, an ugly, flawed creature that was less medicine cat and more of the archetypal fawning servant who leapt at his own shadow. He was kinder to the dust he trod upon than he was to himself, so there wasn't an inkling in his mind that felt he wouldn't deserve a lashing for letting WindClan's leader fall ill. Rather, it was that he felt StarClan's eyes upon him- and if everyone in the Clans disapproved of him, StarClan could easily strike him down. It wouldn't be the first time StarClan had done such a thing. What if StarClan was watching him now? What if he was doing something that everyone disapproved of and he didn't even know he was doing it? What if to everyone around him he looked like an idiot, and he had no idea, and oh God everyone at the gathering was all probably looking at him now, and he was probably making a fool of every medicine cat, and Moth Flight herself was probably looking on filled with embarrassment for his very existence, and-
God, how he hated these gatherings.

Buzzardflutter » This wasn’t Buzzardflutter’s first gathering, but it sure felt like it. Her stomach was aflutter with butterflies and there were worms squirming around inside her chest. She couldn’t count how many times she had stumbled on her way to Fourtrees, bumping into a few of her fellow Clanmates on accident. She had slurred out apologies each time, but it didn’t make her feel any less guilty about how clumsy she was. At least no cat had seemed too offended. They probably realized just how nervous she was. This was her first time meeting other Clan cats as a warrior, and this was the first time she had gone without Crowsong. Mossynose was, of course, at the gathering, but she would be off tending to deputy duties. Buzzardflutter didn’t want to bother her sister when she had ShadowClan to represent.
Luckily for the chocolate molly there didn’t seem to be that many cats just yet. She was able to block out most of the chattering from other felines that had already settled down for the night, and that helped ease some of her nerves. For a moment there Buzzardflutter was doing okay with a steady breath and a firm line of thought. This gathering was going to be okay, even if she didn’t have Crowsong to rely on.
She didn’t have Crowsong.
Buzzardflutter froze in place.
If she didn’t have Crowsong, then where was she going to sit? She usually picked a place to sit with her half sister and together they would watch the gathering, but now she didn’t have any other cat with her to help her pick out a place to watch the Clan leaders, it was all up to her. It was all up to her and she had no idea what she was going to do. What if she sat in a place that was for another cat? What if she took somebody else’s seat? What if she sat too close to the leaders, or too far? What if she sat alone too close to the edge of Fourtrees and that fox from the other day snuck in and took her away? What if...what if…?
A tiny squeak slipped from the molly as all these worries overloaded her brain. The fur along Buzzardflutter’s spine prickled like pine cones, her tail soon following suit, and before she could even move another pawstep, she flopped down on the ground in a frozen panic all because she wasn’t sure how gatherings worked when she didn’t have Crowsong at her side.

Batstar
Batstar flicked her ears when Squirrelstar mentioned that she had gone to RiverClan for territory. Honestly, knowing how Cloudstar was, Batstar was surprised that the she-cat hadn’t just given all of her territory to SkyClan. If anyone came to Batstar and requested to share her clan’s territory, she would’ve laughed in their face and told them to keep their paws off her land. Different leaderships, she supposed. Still, if anything, she was glad that that SkyClan had found something that could help. “I doubt it was hard to convince her to share some territory, you are lucky to have such a giving clan by your borders,” Batstar told her, glancing her way for a moment or so before looking away, freezing up when Squirrelstar asked her about ShadowClan. Quite honestly, Batstar would’ve felt better admitting to her own clan’s struggles if the other clans weren’t around. She was sure RiverClan would be understanding, given their kittypet like leadership, however she still didn’t trust them, and with WindClan under new leadership, she trusted them even less. Lowering her voice, Batstar looked back over to Squirrelstar. “The marsh has mostly dried up by now, it’s getting harder to find water sources,” she admitted in a hushed voice so that only Squirrelstar could hear.

Bugstep @open | With no one
If Bugstep was being honest here, he hadn’t ever enjoyed gatherings. They were far too crowded and considering he wasn’t overly fond of the company within his own clan, he didn’t have high hopes for the other clans here. However if anything it was nice to leave SkyClan territory for now, and Bugstep would admit that he much rather be out in the cool night air than trapped in a stuffy den. Sitting down off by himself, Bugstep glanced up at the darkened blueish black sky, his bright yellow eyes narrowing as he looked up twinkling stars. Why had StarClan let this heat go on for as long as it had? By now Bugstep was sure the sweltering heat and the drying lands would have come to an end by now. Perhaps StarClan was punishing them for something.

Mockingjay of RC | mentions Teaselstar | ~∂єѕтιиу and anyone else! "I think that depends on what you call interesting," said the white-and-black warrior, tail flicking. He let his whiskers twitch, then shifted into a crouch as he stepped forward. "Might find some interesting stories to sneak up on." Mockingjay stepped out if the crouch in several fluid steps, ending in a tail twitch. Then he glanced at his apprentice again. "Perhaps you could tell better stories now. I am personally interested to see what the new WindClan leader has to say and WindClan will say in general. They've been hit pretty hard by this drought as well." Not as bad as RiverClan, but he didn't say that. Saying they were weak wasn't something he wanted to do, wasn't the game he wanted to play. "Anyone you were interested in talking to?"

Mintface of WC | Directly talking to Sand's Sparrowtuft, but mentions Teaselstar It was with a bit of hesitation that Mintface stepped a bit closer to Sparrowtuft and watched their leader head off to do what the leader was supposed to. They hoped that no one would think less of the new leader. They didn't. Their fur still prickled as they glanced around at the other cats of WindClan they'd come with. "How do you think the gathering will go today?" they asked the deputy without making eye contact. Sparrowtuft was on the side with their blind eye anyway, but the queen knew they could have made the effort to turn their head if they felt it was needed. They weren't sure what to expect from this gathering. They hadn't gone the last time. Things seemed ... odd. They weren't sure what might cause tension, if prey was still scares in the other Clans, what their own leader would do or say ... So they asked to get some sort of steadiness from Sparrowtuft.

Lizardpaw sighed, looking to the already seated leaders as their forms became visible beneath the trees’ branches. She supposed it made sense that a boring gathering was likely one that ended on good terms, but it was still difficult to not hope for some action. Her mentor’s suggestion for snooping around made her ears perk, curious if he knew what he’d just given her permission to. “Yeh, Windclan’s been a bit of a mess, huh? I bet the moors a real pain in the tail when it’s this hot - their paws are probably burned to frog’s-dung.” She spoke with a semi-sympathetic look in the other clan’s direction, though her expression mostly carried amusement. “With Teaselstar being a no-show last time, I wonder how they’re doing,” she sounded a bit more considerate now...but the sentiment only lasted for the moment. With Mockingjay’s next words she shrugged a bit, casually dipping her head back to try and see where her sister had been trailing. “Nope, not particularly,” she told her mentor absently, “I’m sure I’ll find someone though, don’t worry about me.” She flicked her tail with a grin, seemingly ready to slip away from him now that she’d spotted Snakestorm in the crowd.

Rainstar of ThunderClan with the other leaders Rainstar rushed down the path that led to Four Trees. The she-cat just stopped before she would enter the clearing. With one last check, the ThunderClan leader checked her Clan. With a quick and rather impatiently irritated flick of her tail, the queen permitted her Clan to proceed into the clearing. Her eyes scanned the mingled cats and caught the outlines of the leaders that had already made it. Rainstar calmly made her way past the bustling crowd. She gave a quick mew of greeting to Teaselstar, happy to see that he had made it.

Dustclaw // Skyclan // @ everyone // Open Dustclaw slowly separated from his clan. He looked around for anyone to chat with, as it was never fun to spend the gathering alone. Everyone seemed to be talking to someone and it would be rude to interrupt. Out of curiosity, Dustclaw looked up at the four big oaks. What would it be like to climb one of them? He thought. Glancing around to make sure no one saw him, Dustclaw padded toward the closest tree and hooked his claws into the strong bark.

Cloudgust with OPEN // gathering, Skyclan Cloudgust was a little surprised, but excited when he'd heard his name being called for the gathering. It'd been quite some time since the tom had gone to one. So, as he stepped into the clearing, a sense of nostalgia washed over him. Grinning to himself, memories of being a bouncy apprentice at his first gathering, then an over-confident warrior after receiving his name rushed into his mind.
Now, taking in all scents of the clan cats mixing together, as well as the hustle and bustle of greetings and mingling was making Cloudgust's head a bit dizzy. Immediately peeling away from Riverclan, the fluffy white tom looked for a place to sit. Once he'd found a spot, he began to look for anyone that he recognized that he might be able to say hello to.
With the hot weather sitting in the back of his head, Cloudgust was too focused on finding any old familiar friends that he couldn't be bothered with worrying about the drought.
Irisnose approaching Bugstep // gathering, Windclan Upon arriving at the gathering, Irisnose immediately broke away from her clanmates and began searching for no one in particular. Her crisp, amber eyes scanned the clearing, making out the shapes of other cats as the sky continued to darken. Her tail lashes to the side as her gaze finally lands on Bugstep, who seemed to be sitting alone. Not having introduced herself directly to him before, Irisnose only remembered the Skyclan tom's appearance more than anything. It was a bit of a head scratcher trying to remember his name. None the less, the black and white tabby began to approach the lean tomcat, hoping she wouldn't be met with hostility from being from another clan. "Hello!" Irisnose greeted cheerfully once she was close enough. "I'm not sure we've met before, my name's Irisnose." Though she seemed confident in her introduction, the molly had an air of caution around her. "You're from Skyclan, right?" She had to bite her tongue now, knowing that if she kept asking question he might get annoyed.
Sledgestep with OPEN, mentions Grayrain // gathering, Riverclan
Ah, the gathering. This was Sledgestep's time to shine. The large tomcat grins as he pads pasts cats, nodding at the toms and winking at any mollies. Maybe he'd find a cutie to chat up and get familiar with, though not too familiar. He just wanted to take the time to have some fun, make new friends, get the latest clan gossip. Not that he was really into that kind of chitchat, but listening to it was always entertaining.
However, his mind suddenly wanders to his brother, Grayrain, as he spots the young tom within the crowd of Riverclan cats. Suddenly his mood shifts and he feels conflicted. It'd been a while since both toms had been to a gathering at the same time. Perhaps he should be spending some more time with him?
Sledgestep frowns and shakes his head. Nah, he could always spend time with his little brother at camp, but how often could he chat up a beautiful Skyclan she-cat or a handsome Shadowclan tom? So, with his mind made up, Sledgestep went on the hunt, eyes scanning for anyone that looked like they might want to be approached.
Brightfire with OPEN // gathering, Shadowclan Brightfire's pelt was practically buzzing as Shadowclan stepped into the gathering clearing. The molly was so excited to be here! Going to gatherings was one of her favorite things. There were always so many new faces and new cats to meet, plus, she loved hearing about how the other clans lived. Shadowclan always felt unique to her since they practically lived in the swamp and no other clan had that kind of environment, but that meant listening to how the other clans hunted and lived always fascinated the dark furred molly.
Suddenly feeling a little more self-conscious as soon as she was by herself, Brightfire became nervous to approach anyone, fearful that they might ignore or even reject her invitation to a conversation. Keeping her ears and eyes peeled, the molly tried to listen to any ongoing conversations that she could slip herself into.

Bugstep of SkyClan
Okay Bugstep, Tinydust had prepared you for this gathering. She had specifically pulled you off to the side before leaving to help you work through how you should respond. You were brought to this gathering as a representative of SkyClan, that meant you had to be on your best behavior. Bugstep reminded himself of this as a WindClan warrior approached him. He had no qualm with this warrior, he didn’t even know her, he had no reason to be anything but polite. “...Hello,” he started, flicking his tail. Was that awkward? Should he have gone with something more casual like “hi” or “what’s up?” No, that was stupid. Hello was fine. “Yes, I’m from SkyClan,” Bugstep added and glanced down towards the molly. Being as tall as he was, Bugstep often towered over his clanmates, and also apparently the other clans as well. “You smell of the moor so I’m assuming you’re from WindClan,” he added a little more tartly as he looked away from her, yellow eyes scanning over the gathering cats as ThunderClan made their arrival. “I’m Bugstep,” he finally added, figuring it was only polite to introduce himself as well since Irisnose had.
