- - Crowsong [ Feathertalon] Crowsong let out a happy purr when Buzzardflutter confirmed that she wanted to go hunting, it would be good to get out there and stretch their legs. Besides, Crowsong didn’t want to be out and about during the heat of the day, so now was a good time to go, then they could get back before it got too hot and maybe nap until the evening. It wasn’t too unusual for ShadowClan cats to do that, even without the threat of a drought hanging over their shoulders. “Great, we can either go to the Crooked Brook or the Murky Pond,” Crowsong suggested as she got up to her feet. The Crooked Brook was slowly beginning to dry up, so they might not have too many frogs there to catch, however the Murky Pond was dense and humid enough there that it hadn’t hit quite as hard as the rest of the territory had been so far. “We’d probably have better luck at Murky Pond though,” the all black molly admitted as she slowly began to pad towards the exit of camp.

Buzzardflutter » Buzzardflutter lay there on the ground for a while longer, enjoying the feel of the dust up against her pelt. She had always enjoyed rolling around in the dust, though she had had cats to tell her to stop doing that because they didn't want her tracking dust all into their nests at the end of the day. Buzzardflutter had never meant to get their nests all dirty, she had just wanted dust in her pelt for herself. It made her less itchy, like that one time she had gotten fleas and the solution had been to roll around all over the dirty until she wasn't itchy anymore. She had always wondered what had happened to those fleas. Did they just disappear into the dust? That was the only solution Buzzardflutter could come up with.
Flea thoughts aside, the young molly pushed herself back up to her feet, shaking any debris off of her fur as she listened to her sister.
Her ears went from perked up and excited to downcast and to the side at the mention of Crooked Brook. "That one's loud," she mumbled under her breath as if saying it any louder would get her in trouble. "S'too loud. Monsters scream, they scream too loud." And they smelled bad, but Buzzardflutter could handle a bad smell more then she could handle loud screaming that wasn't coming from herself. Fortunately for Buzzardflutter it seemed as if Crowsong had made her decision, and her decision was to not try Crooked Brook. Murky Pond was a place Buzzardflutter could handle.
Smile returning to her face, the chocolate warrior lowered her body and, with a wiggle of her hindquarters, pounced forward, landing somewhat wobbly next to Crowsong. "Practicing frog pounce!" She chirped, clearly excited for this outing.

Toadheart | In camp | 𝓑𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐫 ♥ the rest of the patrol | graphics made by Akumiralko
Toadheart had wandered around the camp keeping his eyes peeled for an suspicious motion lurking in the shadows most wouldn't look twice at. Quite ironic when it came to him being a full grown warrior, one that was or had been called to the front of something less noble. "Yes, I'll see to it." He gave a curt nod to his honored deputy. Recalling the other names spoken to him the warrior took it farely well waving his long tail high in the air. There was no need to confuse voices as there were many cats mingling in the heart of the camp so freely. Unlike his extravagant sister, the black and white tom stood there glancing at the cats mentioned offering a knowing look to Ashensnow.
"Is that so?" He amused at the statement presented twitching his whiskers. Windclan cats were like the rabbits they hunted - a miracle they weren't mistaken snow. "Let's hope you can still keep up with your old bones, beebrain." Toadheart teased the tom, shooting him a bright grin that of which was rare this early in the day.

Crowsong
Buzzardflutter wasn’t wrong there, due to how close Crooked Brook was to the Thunderpath, it could become loud and nerve wracking to be around. That was probably one of the reasons why there weren’t quite as many frogs there as there would be somewhere else in the marsh, like Murky Pond for instance. “It’s been awhile since I’ve been to Murky Pond,” Crowsong admitted as she cast a glance behind her to make sure Buzzardflutter was still following as she led her younger half sister out of camp. “You know, when I was an apprentice, I would challenge all the other apprentices to see who could croak the most like a frog,” she said, letting out a small purr as she thought about it. Of course Crowsong had made for an excellent frog, her croaks couldn’t be matched by anyone else in camp...at least that’s what she chose to believe, the other warriors - especially the ones that had been apprentices with her - would probably have their own thoughts to say on the subject. Getting an idea, Crowsong looked back to Buzzardflutter and let out a mischievous purr. “I bet I can croak better than you,” she teased lightly. “We can practice our croaks until we get there, then we can see for ourselves who sounds the most frog like.”

Frondfeather | Camp | @stitchlover20 's Flowersplash "You seem to have a lot on your mind," said a voice with a purr. An aging she-cat - Frondfeather - slowly stepped forward, shaking out one paw after the other as she stepped toward Flowersplash. "Then again, that could just be wind in my head and I don't know a thing about that long look you just sent into camp." The she-cat came to sit nearby, but not directly next to the other cat. "What were you planning for the day?" she asked. She wasn't sure what was keeping everyone busy. Other than disappointment in the hunt and the fact that the other clans were either doing just as poorly or they were ThunderClan and practically unaffected.

Minksneeze
shadowclan territory | morning | silverbirch (Blaze ♡ )
With a curt nod, Minksneeze followed her mentor out of camp and into the marsh. "Oh come on, not all warriors are idiots, Silverbirch," she sighed, rolling her eyes. "You mean to tell me Frogtooth is stupid?"
Whiskers twitching, she pushed through the underbrush. "Now if you were to tell me all apprentices were stupid, I'd have to agree with that. I don't know how Dogclaw can put up with them."
As they moved forward she couldn't help but worry about heading to the border. Sure the other clans weren't supposed to attack medicine cats, but with the drought driving tensions through the roof she couldn't help but feel a little nervous.

Chipmunkchirp
Today was a beautiful day, the sun was shining - even if it was really hot - and there were even birds chirping in the distance. ShadowClan didn’t get as many birds as the other clans did, probably because even the birds could sense the cold air that radiated from the clan, even if it wasn’t cold right now....Huh, maybe that was why the birds were chirping, it was finally warm enough for them to come out and enjoy the day with everyone. Chipmunkchirp had awoken early today, already bright eyed and bushy tailed as she watched the patrols fall into place. It would’ve been nice to go on one with her clanmates, but that was okay, it just meant that she could get somewhat of her own patrol and go hunting or something like that. Shifting slightly in her spot, Chipmunkchirp narrowed her eyes as scanned over the campsite for any possible cats that she could take with her on this impromptu, unofficial patrol.

C O A L N O S E in Camp with Chipmunkchirp It was a hot one.. again. Not exactly a favorite for Coalnose and his jet black pelt. The heat clung to him like a wet leaf, refusing to leave his fur no matter how long he sat in the shade. The drought had done nothing to help the tomcats sour attitude, only heightening his irritability. He'd went out on the moon high patrol the previous night, earning him a few extra hours of snooze time. When he finally did enter the clearing, he was feeling half-starved and ready for something to do. Sauntering to the fresh-kill pile, he nosed his way around the morsels until he found a decent sized black bird. He twitched his ear in surprise and picked up the feathery game, his green eyes connecting instantly with Chipmunkchirp. He sighed inwardly, though his expression gave nothing away, as he realized the she-cat would probably want him to go out with her. He didn't hate the Molly, he just preferred his alone time when he could snag it. Slithering over to her, he dipped his head in greeting and dropped the bird, green eyes narrowed to slits as the sun shone into camp. "Chipmunkchirp," he greeted casually, settling onto his belly. "Would you like to share?" he inquired, nodding to the blackbird. He half expected the she-cat to decline him, though he wouldn't be offended. It was merely an offer as the heat was slowly sapping his appetite away. Besides, wasting prey wasn't really his forte, especially when he's the one who has to go out and fetch more. 𝚛𝚊𝚒𝚗𝚢 𝕊’𝕞𝕠𝕣𝕖

Brightfire — with Chipmunkchirp & Coalnose // 𝕊’𝕞𝕠𝕣𝕖 dαιѕy Brightfire was lounging in a shadier part of camp, knowing that if she exposed herself to direct sunlight then her dark pelt would soak up all the heat. And as much as she loved the warmth, overheating wasn’t exactly something she wanted to look forward to. Anytime spent in the medicine cats den would be avoided by Brightfire, the molly always unable to sit still or stay in one place for very long. Speaking of, Brightfire could feel her eyelids getting droopy, knowing that if she didn’t get up and move around now then she might end up falling asleep in the middle of camp. In order to avoid the embarrassment of getting caught dozing off, the black she-cat reluctantly rose to her paws and quickly shook her head in an attempt to wake herself up a little more. Glancing around the clearing, she spots one of her good friends, Chipmunkchirp right away. A grin breaks out on her face and she immediately begins to trot in her direction, about to greet the other from across camp when she spots Coalnose approaching the calico tabby she-cat. This causes Brightfire to falter, thinking back to her previous interaction with Coalnose and how odd he acted towards her. Had she said or done something wrong? Trying not to think about it too much, Brightfire approached anyway as the tomcat had dropped a blackbird between him and Chipmunkchirp. “A blackbird! I wonder who caught that, they must’ve been very lucky!” Brightfire commented excitedly, sitting near the two and nodding her head in greeting to the both of them.

Pindeapple (Cavegrowl + patrol)- Camp
The she cat was eager to go out and to see who was trying to cause trouble next. Hopefully it wasn’t any badgers or foxes wandering through the territory. She knew from experience that badgers can easily take out a cat with a swipe of their large paws. Foxes were crafty annoyances. They just show up and try to claim a den to care for their cubs.

Chipmunkchirp
It was as if her thoughts had been answered for her when Coalnose approached. Chipmunkchirp gave a small bounce as the dark black tom made his way over to her. “Coalnose! You’re just the cat I was looking for!” She told him with a loud, vibrant purr. Of course she hadn’t had Coalnose specifically in mind when she thought of who she could take with her, but he was one of her friends, even one of her closest friends if she said so herself and she would love to take him with her. Pausing slightly when he dropped something black and feathery at her feet, Chipmunkchirp tilted her head to the side and stared down at it with her mismatched eyes. “A blackbird! You know, I was just thinking about all the birds I’ve heard recently, maybe we’ll all start catching birds more often, like SkyClan does,” Chipmunkchirp commented idly. She didn’t eat birds very often, mostly because they didn’t have birds to eat all that often either, but if Chipmunkchirp was being honest here, she was getting a little sick of frogs anyways. “I’d love to share it with you, and then maybe after we eat, we can go out on our own little patrol together-“ Chipmunkchirp stopped as Brightfire approached and she instantly let out a friendly purr of greeting. Brightfire was another member of the clan that Chipmunkchirp would consider one of her closest friends. “Good morning, Brightfire!” She greeted the other she-cat. “You know, it’s funny that you mention the bird because I was just telling Coalnose about all the birds I’ve heard recently,” the tabico added as she curled her tail around her paws, looking at her friends. “Speaking of which, would you like to join Coalnose and I later for a little patrol? Who knows, maybe we’ll even find some more birds to bring back to camp!”

Buzzardflutter » It took a moment for Buzzardflutter to regain complete balance after her pounce, but she made sure to follow behind her former mentor with a bounce to her step that would make almost any cat believe she hadn’t just almost tumbled to the ground a third time that day. Sticking to Crowsong’s side, the young molly continuously rubbed up against her sister, giggling anytime she felt a small spark of static jump between them from the contact. The initial jolt would spook Buzzardflutter ever so slightly, but the surprise quickly turned into delight.
Had Buzzardflutter been left to her own devices the rest of the way she would have continued to create little shocks between her and Crowsong’s fur, but her attention was pulled away from that when Crowsong brought up something about frogs. Buzzardflutter didn’t catch all of it, but she knew it had something to do with frogs and her immediate response to that was to part open her jaws and draw in a deep breath until her cheeks were as swollen as a squirrel’s cheeks after foraging. ”That’s what frogs look like,” she explained matter-of-factly, her cheeks deflating as she spoke. ”They get all big and fat and then they, hmm, they...they do this!” Buzzardflutter wasted no time in crouching down to the ground and wiggling her hindquarters in such an animated way it gave the rest of her body little trembles. ”Frog pounce!” The little warrior screeched as she pushed herself off the ground and flung herself into the air. She was lucky this time to land on all fours in a rather steady fashion. ”Frog pounce!” She repeated as she turned on her paws to look back at Crowsong, eyes wide with pride for herself that she had frog pounced as well as she had. ”I did that!” She chirped, fur fluffing out in excitement.
While she was exceptionally proud of her frog pounce, she was very intrigued by this prospect of frog croaking that Crowsong had brought up.
Buzzardflutter cocked her head to the side. ”Croak?” She asked. ”We’ll go ribbit ribbit. I’m, hmm, I’m big frog!” Buzzardflutter trilled out with enthusiasm. The young warrior bounced up on her back legs, rearing up like a horse would when agitated. ”Big, big, big! Go be a big frog too, Crowsong! Croak! I wanna hear your big ribbit!” In her imagination she landed her front paws back on the ground with a large thud, when in reality her paws barely managed to make a sound as they returned to the ground. The vibration from it all certainly sent a shock up her small body, Buzzardflutter reacting to the feeling by sticking her tongue out of her mouth, letting it hang out there as she gave her sister a wide-eyed stare in anticipation for Crowsong’s croak.

C O A L N O S E in Camp with Chipmunkchirp + Brightfire Coalnose, normally aware of his surroundings, was a bit surprised by Brightfire's mew, his ear twitching in surprise as he settled his green gaze on the molly. A pang of regret hit his belly as he saw her cheerful expression, realizing he'd probably made her uncomfortable the last time they'd spoken. He enjoyed her company, yet he was so worked up after the gathering and his failed hunting patrol, he'd let his emotions get the better of him. Feeling a bit awkward, he hoped the pretty she-cat would forgive him for being such a dunce. The smallest smirk curled on his lips as he nodded to her. "Hey, Brightfire. Er- how's it going?" he inquired lightly, hoping the she-cat could sense his apology. He wasn't too proud to apologize, but he certainly didn't want Chipmunkchirp to see how the pair had been acting. To his relief, the calico molly kept talking, her eager tone rolling off her tongue easily. For some odd reason, Coalnose didn't find her to be annoying. He'd always allowed small things to get under his skin, but Chipmunkchirp had always been the exception. Perhaps it was the respect he held for her, or maybe the fact that she paid no attention to his sour mood half of the time. Whatever it was, the black tomcat was grateful to her. He stifled a purr as she repeated her ongoings about the blackbird, tail tip twitching as he began plucking feathers out of the plump morsel. He took a small bite before nosing it toward his denmate, glancing at Brightfire. "Did you want a bite or two as well? We might as well have a snack before we head out- if you're going of course." Uneasiness prickled at his pelt, annoyed by his horribly obvious uncomfortable response. Trying to ignore it, he swished his tail tip across Chipmunkchirp's nose, offering an awkward smile. "Bird hunting patrol? Are you going to climb trees like SkyClan too?" It was intended to be a joke, but the tomcat shuffled his paws awkwardly, suddenly not hungry. 𝚛𝚊𝚒𝚗𝚢 𝕊’𝕞𝕠𝕣𝕖

Brightfire with Chipmunkchirp && Coalnose // camp Even Coalnose's acknowledgment was enough for Brightfire, the dark furred molly purring beginning to rumble in her chest. Her expression brightens and the fear that Coalnose no longer liked her easily washed away. "It's going great, actually. Thank you for asking!" She says cheerfully, her pointed ears flicking in Chipmunkchirp's direction now. Brightfire blinks quickly, rolling over the idea of bird hunting in her head. It wasn't exactly something she felt confident in, not having caught many birds herself, but if the other clans could do it then why couldn't she?
An amused chuckle slips past her maw and she tilts her head curiously, grinning at the tabico warrior. "Bird hunting and climbing trees? Sounds exciting!" She exclaimed, then suddenly bursting into a small fit of laughter. "Too bad Skyclan can't even climb their own trees for the time being. I'm sure they'll be so jealous when they here that Shadowclan has taken on their proficiency of tree climbing." Brightfire joked and looked to the two, wondering if they found it amusing just as much as she did.
Her glowing yellow eyes now settle on the black bird between all three of them and she licks her whiskers, just the scent of prey bringing an appetite. "A snack before hunting sounds perfect, actually. If you really don't mind sharing your meal, Coalnose, then I'd love a bite or two." Brightfire responded with a purr, her eyes locked on his green gaze. "I promise I'll try and catch a bird just for you! If not a bird then a frog for sure!" She promised, suddenly excited to go out into the territory and stretch her legs. Perhaps shake off the drowsiness that still laid over her like a thick blanket. "Does that mean you'll be leading our patrol, Chipmunkchirp? It sounded like it was your idea anyways. Plus, I can't help but think that you always know the best places to hunt."

Casting a quick look to Owlskip who had recently joined the small group, he blinked a greeting a flicked his tall pointed ears. "Alright let's get going." Turning around he was quick to exit camp and set a brisk pace towards the Thunderclan border. Once out of camp and into the forest the dark silver and grey tom seemed to relax a bit, the sounds and scents of the forest almost acting like a therapeutic remedy to the toms grumpy demeanor. Silence seemed to look over the group as they traveled. Not a bad thing, but Cavegrowl wanted to make sure that the patrol was not divided. Unity was important if they were possibly about to face an opponent/enemy. "What do you guys think about hunting on the way back?" He questioned casually. "I could definitely go for plump mouse." The warrior was obviously daydreaming. A plump anything would be hard to find, that is unless twolegs happened to be feeding it.

Hearing his name, Finchcall's ear twitched and he let out a faint sigh. If it was up the older tom, he would stay in camp forever. Wait no, he would be out in the forest alone. Some of the Shadowclans were too rowdy for Finchcall's taste especially in the mornings. He liked peace and quiet.... mostly quiet. Who cared about peace?
He rose to his paws gracefully and swished his tail. His golden gaze cut around camp before landing on a familiar white and black pelt. He slipped through the cats as Finchcall headed straight for the patrol. His ears twitched as he heard Ashensnow's boastful story. He rolled his eyes.
"Did you now?" he muttered absently, not particularly believing the younger tom's story and dipped his head in greeting to Toadheart. It was more likely that Ashenpaw, at the time, tried to race a Windclan cat and ran into a bush. His clanmates weren't the most elegant creatures when it came to sprinting.
"Where did Mossynose say we were patroling at?" Finchcall asked, shifting on his paws, "I wasn't able to catch what she said earlier." He was eager to leave the bustling camp behind.

shadowclan camp ; with toadheart, finchcall, and frostpaw;
“Who are you calling old?” Ashensnow poked a paw at Toadheart, eyes wide in jest. “I am but a sapling!”
He turned, curbing his enthusiasm, towards Finchcall. Ashensnow and the older tom were diametrically opposed on most subjects. Where Ashensnow was eccentric, Finchcall was stoic. Where Ashensnow thrived moments of festivity, Finchcall preferred to be alone in the forest. Whereas Ashensnow enjoyed being the center of attention, Finchcall had already left, he was in the forest, where no one could bother him. Bye, Finchcall.
They didn’t get along particularly well.
This was par for the course for Ashensnow. His personality did not earn him many friends, though he had his share of admirers and those who found his outrageous demeanor entertaining. Cats like Toadheart. Cats like – well – not Finchcall.
“In fact I did, Finchcall. StarClan gifted me with legs as swift as a deer’s”, the silver tom waved the limb that he already had outstretched towards Toadheart. “And we’re heading over towards the WindClan border.”

Crowsong
Crowsong let out a mrrow of laughter as she watched Buzzardflutter pounce around like a frog on a lily pad. Even though it hadn’t been that long since Buzzardflutter had been made a warrior, it still felt nice to get out like this again, it reminded Crowsong of when Buzzardflutter had been Buzzardpaw. Honestly, Crowsong wasn’t entirely sure if Buzzardflutter was ready to be a warrior yet, however she was well into the age of a young warrior and after a... conversation with Turtlecloud, Crowsong had wanted to prove that Buzzardflutter was more than ready. Luckily for her, Batstar agreed with her. Putting her focus back on Buzzardflutter, Crowsong watched as the young warrior pounced and let out a large “ribbit” like a frog would. “If I didn’t know any better, I’d say a frog was right here with me,” Crowsong told her with a small laugh as they neared Murky Pond. “Now, watch closely Buzz, because you’re looking at the ShadowClan champion of croaking,” she added and shifted her paws, feeling the muddy earth under her feet, she got ready to pounce, a loud ribbit beginning from the back of her throat. Then all at once Crowsong leapt into the air and let out the biggest frog like noise she could muster as she splashed into the marsh, getting murky water everywhere.

Chipmunkchirp
Chipmunkchirp watched the exchange between her two friends with narrowed eyes. That was...a little unusual, perhaps something had happened earlier that she wasn’t aware of, maybe later on, when she wasn’t with both of them, Chipmunkchirp could approach them about it personally and try to flatten some ruffled feathers, it was the least she could do for them, after all they actually willingly hung out with hurt and Chipmunkchirp couldn’t say the same for everyone. Except maybe Larkpetal, but that’s was different. The way Larkpetal had spoken to her the day before was different, it was done in a way that made Chipmunkchirp feel all warm inside like there was a mini drought inside her stomach too. Sadly the tall she-cat wasn’t here right now or else Chipmunkchirp would have asked her to accompany them as well. Taking a couple bites out of the blackbird, Chipmunkchirp passed it to Brightfire so she could eat some of it as well. “We don’t just have to catch birds,” she added, sensing some possible discomfort there. “We could catch whatever we wanted, I know Mossynose already put patrols together, but I don’t see why we can’t form our own little patrol, we could even take turns on who leads it,” she suggested, as she looked over the two dark coated cats.

Buzzardflutter » At her sister's praise Buzzardflutter stomped at the ground in excited little steps as if she were marching in place. Her tail waved back and forth through the air in bliss, whiskers twitching as well to give her entire body a motion of animation. "I'm a frog! Frogpaw, Frogpaw," she mused in a sing-song voice, unaware she had gone back to referring to herself as an apprentice once again as she followed alongside her sister with large, exaggerated steps.
When Crowsong spoke up, Buzzardflutter paused in her steps. Eyes going rounded than eggs, she watched as her half sister crouching in preparation for a pounce. Then, in a swift movement, the black molly flung herself into the air with a ribbit so realistic Buzzardflutter was sure there would be a frog underneath her sister's paws. "Coming, Frogsong!" She squeaked, throwing herself into the pond after Crowsong with a splash, gloomy water soaking her chocolate pelt.

He’d gotten so wrapped up in his thoughts that he barely heard Batstar’s later words, and almost didn’t notice that she’d left the den. Wait, where’d she go? What am I supposed to do now? Marshpaw quickly exited the den, looking around for Batstar.

C O A L N O S E in Camp with Chipmunkchirp + Brightfire At Brightfire's reply and obvious acceptance, the black tomcat let out a breath he hadn't realized he'd been holding. The last thing he wanted to do was ruffle any feathers between his only two friends and the dreary pessimist in the back of his brain reminded him Chipmunkchirp would probably take Brightfire's side anyway. He shook his head, trying to shove his doubts to the back of his brain. Chipmunkchirp would never take a side, she was fair and kind, he reminded himself, tail tip twitching lightly as he focused back on the pair. He felt hot embarrassment light up his whiskers and travel to touch his cheeks, his face growing warm. It was obvious she'd witnessed the awkward encounter, and Coalnose had forgotten for a moment that she would've been watching their exchange. He cleared his throat and awkwardly chuckled at Brightfire's joke, dipping his head nervously as she offered to catch him a frog. Instead of arguing with the molly and saying he could catch one himself - which is what he would've done with any other cat - he dipped his head slightly, mumbling, "Thanks Brightfire, I'd appreciate that." Trying to lighten the mood, the black tomcat sat up straighter, green eyes glinting. "Take turns? We know you'd take over full leadership," he teased his older denmate, offering a light smile at Chipmunkchirp. Out of the trio, she was certainly the one to take the lead, being the eldest and just having a natural talent to lead. Coalnose couldn't say the same for himself, he didn't envy those of his clanmates who took charge. 𝚛𝚊𝚒𝚗𝚢 𝕊’𝕞𝕠𝕣𝕖

Pinedapple (Cavegrowl + patrol) Border patrol to ThunderClan Pinedapple nodded in agreement. “Of course! I wouldn’t mine getting some food for the camp,” she replied. She kept her pace up with the other cat to not make herself fall behind with the rest of the clowder.

Crowsong
It was nice to see Buzzardflutter having fun, especially considering how anxious she had been when Crowsong had first approached her today, honestly Crowsong was a little worried that Buzzardflutter wasn’t adapting well to her life as a warrior, but Crowsong was sure she’d adjust soon enough. Laughing as her pelt got splashed and soggy from all the murky water, Crowsong plopped herself down on the marsh. “It’s nice knowing that not everywhere is all dried up, isn’t it?” She asked lazily as she practically buried herself in the mud. ShadowClan might not have as many marshy places as they were used to, but they still had some and Crowsong was going to enjoy it. Flicking her tail, she gestured for Buzzardflutter to join her in the mud. “Come on, we can relax in the mud for a bit before we go frog hunting,” Crowsong told her. They’d still hunt before they went back to camp, but there was nothing wrong with enjoying the marsh for a bit beforehand.

Batstar
After Batstar had left the apprentice’s den, she had stopped by the warriors den to find Driftspirit. He was the eldest senior warrior in the clan and although Batstar sort of hoped he would consider retirement soon, part of her was still glad to have the sagely tom at her side as a warrior. “I’m going to take Marshpaw out for the day, will you let Jaggedthorn know?” She asked the large gray tom. She would let the muscular molly know herself, but Batstar really did want to get a move on before it got too hot. Driftspirit nodded in understanding. “Of course, I’m sure she’ll enjoy having the day off,” he replied and Batstar gave a small nod in response. Good, now that that was taken care of... Turning around, Batstar looked around until her eyes landed on Marshpaw as he exited the apprentice’s den. Padding over to him, Batstar gave a flick of her large ears. “Ready to go?” She asked him, gesturing her head towards the camp exit. She had a plan for what they were going to do today, but she wanted to make sure Marshpaw was ready before setting out.

jaggedthornaccompanied by Newtfur | camp, warrior's denJaggedthorn held back a snicker when Newtfur shot up, her fur standing on its ends. She had to admit, she found the tortoiseshell's reaction to be hilarious and the added comment of a large lizard made it worth her while. What a mousebrain, she thought, rolling her dark green eyes.
"Simple. You're one of the few warriors in this clan that gets their duties done in a timely manner and doesn't mess around," she meowed, prepared to offer the warrior a proposal she could never refuse. That was debatable, of course, but Jaggedthorn had enough faith in herself to believe that Newtfur would accept.
The dark brown tabby turned her nose up once the dark furred she-cat mentioned clan gossip. Clan gossip?! She was tempted to tell her clanmate off for such an insulting comment but instead she dug her claws into the dry grass. "Clan gossip, huh? If you wanted to discuss that, you might as well find another cat to speak with, Newtfur," she replied curtly, narrowing her gaze at the tortoiseshell. She was trying her best to not raise her hackles, but it was becoming difficult. "Anyways. A patrol, you and me. Let's get going unless you'd rather hang out with the gossipers of ShadowClan since that's what you seem to be into."
Jaggedthorn glanced at Newtfur once more before turning around swiftly and sauntered out of warrior's den, in hopes that her denmate would obey and follow her. image source - pexels | ☾ѕησσzє☽

Buzzardflutter » The pond wasn't as deep as it usually was, or maybe Buzzardflutter was just remembering it wrong. She did that a lot - remembering things wrong. It was a bad habit of hers, so she was probably just thinking that the pond used to be deeper. Or maybe she had grown, that would make sense too. She was a warrior now, she was sure of that, so of course she was going to be taller and bigger. She wasn't as big as Mossynose or Crowsong, but she was working on that. Maybe one day she'd be as tall and big as her sisters. If she managed to do that then she would make for a really good ShadowClan warrior. Sure, she was one already, but ShadowClan warriors had to be big and strong. They had to be like Mossynose and Crowsong.
Luckily for her she could work on growing bigger and taller while rolling around in the mud with her sister. Maybe mud would even help her grow. She just needed to make sure she covered herself in a lot of mud so that she could grow up into a formidable warrior - not that she wanted to go out and fight anything, but warriors had to be scary. She wouldn't say her sisters were scary, but that was because she knew them personally. To other cats in other Clans she was sure the two mollies were ferocious.
A contented purr rolled off Buzzardflutter's tongue as she rolled right next to Crowsong, letting the mud and water soak into her pelt. "Good," she purred. "This is good. This makes me not as hot." Buzzardflutter scrunched up her nose in distaste as she thought about how hot it had been as of late. "Too hot. S'too hot." She shook her head, relaxing the muscles in her face as she did the same with the rest of her body, letting herself go slack in the pond.
It wasn't too long after she had joined Crowsong that a low rumble caught in her ears. She perked up and looked over at Crowsong, practically smacking her head right into the black molly's shoulder. "Did you frog?" She asked against Crowsong's fur. "You frogged! Ribbit, ribbit!"

Crowsong
Letting the mud soak into her fur, Crowsong probably could have fallen asleep there. The marsh wasn’t quite as dense and deep as if usually was, and in certain areas it was completely dried up, however luckily this didn’t seem to be one of those places and Crowsong was happy to let her body sink into the murky water underneath her. Crowsong let out a content sigh, a low purr rumbling from the back of her throat as the mud coated her body. Then Buzzardflutter said something about a frog croaking and Crowsong paused. “No, I didn’t frog, maybe you frogged and didn’t know-“ just as Crowsong started to think of some excuse for the frog noise, a whiff of fox caught her nose and the pieces began to fall together a little too quickly for comfort. Why the pond was so quiet, what that noise was that Buzzardflutter had heard, the scent of fox that Crowsong and Mossynose had caught a couple days ago. Scrambling up to her feet - albeit a little clumsily from the slippery mud - Crowsong looked around, a sudden sense of frenzy washing over her. “Buzz, get behind me,” she ordered quickly, searching the dense marsh for any sign of fox.
