Mossynose Mossynose rolled her eyes and bumped her shoulder gently against Crowsong's. "Sometimes deputies need to sleep too," she meowed with a soft huff of laughter. She was typically up early, it was habit that stayed with her when she had become deputy. However; this morning, she had forgot how nice she slept with Tigerstrike's fur pressed against her. She had grown used to sleep with Ravenpaw with her nest. She loved her son... but often, he would fidget in the morning waking her up.
She shook her head and leaned over to gently brush some of the dust off her sister's fur. She let out a soft hum, listening to Crowsong's explanation. Turtlecloud was bit of a wildcard. Mossynose figured she shouldn't be that surprised that Turtlecloud would have gotten involved with a fight before half the clan awoke. "She is something, isn't she," she mused, flickering another piece of moss of her sister's fur.
Mossynose paused when Crowsong mentioned Ravenpaw. A flash of anger rolled through the molly's body even if the only subtle hint was a slight tensing of her shoulders. The deputy wasn't a violent cat. She wouldn't hurt Turtlecloud but she could ensure that molly would be on dawn patrol until she died. "Good," kill her she meowed in a light voice and pushed herself to her paws. "And look, you are all clean now," she purred. She titled her head towards the exit of the den, "What to come and help me organize patrols?" she offered. Maybe her and Crowsong could go out hunting together if her sister didn't have any other plans.

Ivythroat with Embergaze // in camp 〷 ☾ 〷 The calico carefully licked at the small wound between her toes, trying to stop the bleeding. For such a superficial wound, it was bleeding quite a bit. The white fur of her right forepaw began to darken around the toes and pads, sending another flare of annoyance rushing through Ivythroat. Where the thorn had even come from, the molly would never be able to tell. After a few firm licks, the blood flow began to slow, barely a trickle. Such a dramatic little puncture.
Her ear twitched as Embergaze approached, her dark green eyes flashing to the tom as he halted beside her. A quiet snicker escaped him at his speculation, shaking her head lightly. “Probably. Their racket dragged me out of my nest, so I wasn’t there to hear the beginning, but it was most likely something mouse-brained like that,” Ivythroat commented, rolling her eyes. While she herself loved a good battle, these little spats were ridiculous.
Jaguarpaw with Badgerpaw & Dogclaw // in camp 〷 ☾ 〷
“Yes, sir!” Jaguarpaw responded sarcastically, saluting with his tail. For all his attitude, the tom didn’t actually dislike Dogclaw. Infact, he looked up to him quite a bit and enjoyed their training sessions. His blue eyes flashed to Badgerpaw as he came padding out of the apprentice’s den behind him. The golden tom had a whole bunch of bluster but his brother was his best friend, his confidant. At the end of the day, he’d give anything for the dark gray tom and even if their mentors decided to separate them, that would never change.
Luckily, he didn’t have to worry too much, as Dogclaw invited Badgerpaw to come along with them. He normally trained with them anyway, though Hollowstripe was nowhere to be seen. His claws flexed eagerly at the mention of sparing, one of his favorite things to do. He loved wrestling and mock battles, Jaguarpaw enjoyed trying to figure out the best moves and getting a bit rough. “Oh no doubt, but I’m going to beat both of you,” the apprentice taunted, nudging his brother back with a cheeky grin on his face.

(Mobile! No coding sorry!) Robincall with Mothcatcher ( 𝑓𝑜𝑥) || Camp "It'd be nice if we could all focus on the important things, yeah. The fighting isn't going to do us any good. It never has in the past and it never will." The molly sighed, shifting around her paws. She then rested her head along them, pawing what was left of her frog with a huff. "Its just not right. Not that its our call." The tabby's gaze fell upon the leader's den before drifting to nothing in particular. She just wished Batstar would break these things up faster or out right ban clanmate to clanmate fights. Sure verbal arguements would always happen but attacking one another? Where was the line, surely someone would go too far.

Embergaze shadowclan camp | accompanied by Ivythroat "Tsk." Embergaze shook his head in exaggerated disappointment. "Why does everything exciting always happen when I'm in the dirtplace?" He flashed Ivythroat a wry smile, pleased with her quiet snicker at his words. But the other warrior seemed distracted. He paused, his eyes falling across the paw she was favoring without turning his head. The white fur around her toes was darkened with blood.
Would she appreciate it if I offered to fetch something from Minksneeze? Is she the kind of cat who willingly accepts help, or interprets it as pity? He racked his brain for what details he could remember about her. Embergaze liked to figure out other cats; to him they were complex puzzles, some more challenging than others. He liked being able to notice things that went unseen by most. With a little careful observation, he could make or break another cat's day.
He tilted his head at Ivythroat's paw. "Ouch," he exclaimed, his mew light and conversational but sympathetic. "That looks painful. How does one come by a thorn in her paw if she just woke up? Been sleep-walking again?"

Cinderfall with Martensnap and AspenpawShadowClan Camp "Good morning, Aspenpaw," Cinderfall greeted, having watched the exchange between her and Martensnap with amusement. She had fond memories of her first apprentice grumbling when she dragged her up, too. Leafpaw had never even finished training when she chased a squirrel out onto the Thunderpath. Cinderfall sighed and shook her head, dismissing the old memories. It had been many moons, and she had no reason to concern herself with them now. "Why don't we go out near the ThunderClan border. Maybe some prey's passed over from the forest," she suggested, looking back at Martensnap.
Badgerpaw with Jaguarpaw and DogclawShadowClan Camp Badgerpaw couldn't help but laugh and shake his head at the idea that Jaguarpaw could beat him. "Are you kidding? I'm clearly bigger than you are," the tabby bragged, puffing his chest out. In reality, he was maybe the tiniest bit larger than Jaguarpaw, only noticeable if one was really paying attention. "Anyway, I'm going to pummel you. No doubt about it," he said, returning Jaguarpaw's grin. Badgerpaw didn't like thinking about tactics or strategy when it came to battle, preferring to charge in headfirst and let his claws do the work.

Dogclaw snorted, amused. “Size isn’t everything, Badgerpaw,” he lectured, “Speed and size are only part of it. A real warrior uses all the tools he has at his disposal to win a fight. Wits and claws are what really decide a winner. Besides…” the tom continued, “An apprentice winning against another apprentice in a mock battle is one thing, but when you can take on a warrior in a real battle that’ll be an actual victory.”
It was nostalgic, watching the brothers. He remembered his own days as an apprentice, excited to train and challenge his fellow apprentices. But reality is one of those things that won’t let you have fun for long. And with the drought… Jaguarpaw and Badgerpaw’s days of playful sparring were numbered. And though he joked about it, Dogclaw worried that the drought would catalyze some real battles.
Well, he’d have them both prepared if that time ever came. Dogclaw would make sure the brother’s would be able to take down a full grown ThunderClan warrior.
While they waited for Tigerstrike and Thornpaw to join them, Dogclaw said, “We could probably train by the Crooked Brook. I’ll show you how to catch frogs while we’re at it. Or…” He leaned in close, tone hushed and conspiratorial, “I could show you the Thunderpath Tunnels.”

MARTENSNAP shadowclan camp cinderfall / highprince aspenpaw / 𝑓𝑜𝑥 ------------------------------
Hopefully the prey passing over didn't get hit by a monster before arriving. Crowfood will feel nobody. "I think it's a good idea to start near the ThunderClan border, but then we should move back into our territory to look for spots of water. More prey will be around water so if we can find a good spot we should stick to that area." He looked to Aspenpaw, "It's going to be harder to find prey out in the open due to the heat and lack of water, so you're going to have to get good at following a long scent trail. You also have to get good at not startling prey so we don't lose a good meal, either for ourselves or for one of the elders."
He was mainly concerned for the elders, as they were probably getting hit the worst by the drought. If Aspenpaw doesn't catch something for them I swear to StarClan she'll get something. He glared at the young molly. She better take this seriously. By the looks of it, I doubt she will. Mouths need to be fed, and her attitude does not help fill bellies.

Ivythroat with Embergaze // in camp 〷 ☾ 〷 Ivythroat shook her head at the tom's dramatic declaration, rolling her eyes. "Trust me, it wasn't that exciting. You're glad you missed it," the calico mewed, gingerly placing her paw down on the ground beneath her. She didn't even wince, though a small zing of pain traveled up her leg. It was minor and wouldn't hinder her abilities to serve her clan, it had been a tiny thorn after all. She would not let herself see Minksneeze over something so trivial.
Of course, Embergaze had spotted her bloody paw. Ivythroat sighed, before narrowing her eyes at him slightly. "No. It must have been laying on the ground near the center of camp," she grumbled, clearly displeased with the thorn. An elder could have stepped on it, for StarClan's sake! Then the whole clan wouldn't hear the end of it. "Bad luck, I guess," she admitted, licking at the rust tinted fur. She didn't need anyone making a big deal out of this.
Jaguarpaw with Badgerpaw & Dogclaw // in camp 〷 ☾ 〷
"What? No way! Just because you were born first doesn't mean your bigger!" the tom denied quickly, darting a paw out to lightly hit his brother's shoulder. Jaguarpaw didn't want to even think about the possibility of Badgerpaw being bigger than him, even if it was maybe, just a tiny bit true. The arrogant tom snorted, peering at his brother with playful challenge. "As if," he mewed, tipping up his chin in a show of fake haughtiness.
When Dogclaw cut in to their conversation, Jaguarpaw nodded in agreement, sticking his tongue out at his brother. His attention was caught by the last phrase out of his mentors mouth though. "I bet me and Badgerpaw could take one!" his little chest puffed up with pride at the thought, blue eyes shining. He'd been training beside his brother for so long, they were great at fighting back to back.
Looking over to his gray furred litter mate, Jaguarpaw smirked. "I bet you'll be really good at catching frogs, frog-breath," he joked, brushing his flank against Badgerpaw's lightly, his flanks shaking with a chuckle. The golden bengal nearly let out a gasp of excitement at the idea his mentor had just planted in his head. Dogclaw expected him to focus the rest of the day now? "Yes! That sounds awesome," the younger tom agrees, grinning up at his mentor brightly.

- - Ravenpaw [ ᴏᴡʟ, ʀᴀɪɴʟᴇᴀғ 🍁, Thunderheart57] Oh, oh no...oh no, Mushroompaw seemed upset. Had Ravenpaw done that? He hadn’t...he hadn’t meant to upset anyone. Everyone was just so...on edge today, between the fight this morning and the drying up marsh, it was hard not to get on each other’s nerves, but Ravenpaw didn’t mean to...he didn’t mean to upset anyone. Guilt pricked at his heart and he lied down, trying to disappear from sight. He was terrible. The only thing that gave him comfort right now was that Tigerstrike was still beside him, letting Ravenpaw try to melt into his fur and disappear from sight. Without his father here to help him, Ravenpaw was sure that he would’ve gotten overwhelmed by everything by now. Suddenly the spot by Ravenpaw’s side went cold and empty. Ravenpaw lifted his head up to see Tigerstrike leaving. Oh no.As things began to get out of focus, it was all Ravenpaw could do to give Tigerstrike a nod when he suggested eating together later. That would be nice, so long as Ravenpaw could survive the rest of the day. Soon it was just Ravenpaw and Pinedapple. Ravenpaw shrunk further into the ground, gulping back his nerves as he looked up at the warrior. “My training?” He echoed dumbly. He hadn’t done much training yet, as he had only been an apprentice for a couple of days, but Applefrost had taken him out once or twice. He was....intimidating to say the least. “It’s um...it’s good,” he replied and looked away from Pinedapple, his eyes lingering over to the camp exit. “Do you...do you think Mushroompaw is okay? He seemed sort of...upset,” Ravenpaw asked, his voice barely above a whisper. ”Maybe....no, he probably doesn’t want to talk to me,” he murmured quietly, eyes never leaving the exit.

- - Crowsong [ Blaze ♡] Crowsong let out a small huff, rolling her eyes. “Yeah she’s something alright, either that or she’s got a real something clogging up her brain,” Crowsong retorted in annoyance. Typically, Crowsong didn’t have a whole lot of problems with her clanmates, she liked to think of herself as a pretty fun cat to hang out with and she was certain that her clanmates thought so as well. After all, what wasn’t to love? However Turtlecloud crossed one of the few lines that Crowsong wasn’t okay with. You didn’t get to insult her family and get away with it. Mossynose, Ravenpaw, even Tigerstrike, they were family and no one got to insult them to her face without Crowsong doing something about it. “Anyways, I’d like to help out with patrols, what do you need to sort out right now? I could help, I’m great at helping,” Crowsong told her sister in a much more lighthearted tone, her mood changing drastically as soon as they had left the topic of Turtlecloud behind.

- - Bluetuft [ ®Hawkpath®] It had taken Bluetuft awhile to help calm his sister down, but he had done it and that was a victory in his book. Turtlecloud could be a little rough around the edges, but she was his sister, his littermate, and Bluetuft wanted to make his family happy. If the only thing he was known for when he died was that he made his family happy, Bluetuft would never ask for anything else. Still, he couldn’t be with Turtlecloud all day long, after all she had to leave on the dawn patrol. As for Bluetuft, he hadn’t been assigned any patrols yet and he didn’t have an apprentice to take anywhere with him, which meant he could do whatever he wanted, and lucky for him, he already knew what he wanted to do. Padding towards the elders den, Bluetuft stopped in his tracks as he heard Ravenwhisper speak up about being bored. Well he couldn’t start for that, now could he? Turning around, Bluetuft changed direction and walked over to join Ravenwhisper, letting out a friendly purr of greeting. “Hi Ravenwhisper, what are you up to?” He asked politely as he looked over at the older warrior.

She could tell that he was a little upset at what happened that afternoon. She sighed and decided to keep the young apprentice company for a while. “I’m glad to hear that your training is going good so far. Applefrost is a good cat. He’ll teach you everything to defend ShadowClan until your last breath,” she added calmly. The she cat hummed in thought as she listened to the trees rustle in the distance.

Hey everyone! I wanted to say this up front so no one gets confused if I disappear suddenly or don't respond fast enough to posts. I recently started working again! (yay...) I work Wed - Sat throughout the entire day basically. On those days I have high doubts on being active, but I will try. If your cats are with mine, please don't hesitate to move them to something else if I don't reply for too long. I don't want anyone waiting on me))

It had been a nervous afternoon. Even the bog sedge quivered; moved by the hot, dry breeze just as Ferretmask was moved by the hot, dry tempers of her clan-mates. Was it so necessary to fight? If so, why this late in the day? Had Turrtlecloud been fevered in her sleep? Restless, joints aching for a fight? Was Crowsong mimicking the desperation of the marshes? Yearning for water, for action; for the favor of StarClan. Ferretmask did not know. She sat on her haunches, pensive and searching for rational in the passive expressions of her peers.
Pinedapple soothing Ravenpaw; her gaze was soft and almost opaline. Bluetuft, painted with humble cheer. Dogclaw, Jaguarpaw, and Badgerclaw bantering among themselves. Embergaze and Ivythroat with their heads pressed together. Was no one else concerned about the fighting? Was no one else moved by the useless bloodshed; by the herbs that Minksneeze may waste treating the frivolous infections of frivolous wounds. This was absurd. Batstar condoning this was absurd. Ferretmask scarcely remembers Marigoldstar – she was so young when he died – but he had the sense to at least be civil. Batstar – well, Batstar – well, Ferretmask just wished that she calmed down a bit. The she-cat flicked her ears. She wanted to go out. To get some space. Air. Anything. The freshkill pile was a sad, limp mound; a gory decoration. Maybe it wasn’t even large enough to be a decoration. It was just a happenstance.
“I need out”, the she-cat murmured to herself. Ferretmask had a bad habit of voicing her thoughts out-loud. It had gotten her into trouble, before. Hopefully this was not one of those times.

hemlockgazeaccompanied by ferretmask | camp Like most of his clanmates, or so Hemlockgaze believed, he was not fond of the unnecessary fighting. He had always thought Batstar was a bit of an oddball but he wouldn't dare question her leadership, let alone the decisions she was making. It wasn't his place, and frankly, he was too much of a scaredy cat to come forward and say something. Thinking about it made his skin crawl and it was best to avoid the topic, no matter what.
The gaunt white tom rose from his place in the shadows where he sat in the corners of the camp. The sound of a faint murmur was quite close by, though he wasn't sure how to approach Ferretmask. Is she leaving camp too? he wondered, unsure if following the she-cat was a good idea or not. Surely it wouldn't hurt to or maybe it was best to say something instead?
"H-Hi Ferretmask," Hemlockgaze mewed quietly to Ferretmask, appearing nearly right besides her. It was hard to not notice him due to his stark white coat. "Are you... Are you... leaving camp?"
He didn't want to ask the warrior anything else in case he scared her off. The tom was a total recluse and socializing wasn't his strong suit, let alone it being anything he ever willingly did. He had only approached Ferretmask out of sheer curiosity and he didn't want to deal with the chaotic commotion that was taking place in ShadowClan's camp. Ravenwhisper | ShadowClan Camp | 𝕊’𝕞𝕠𝕣𝕖Ravenwhisper was beginning to think no one had heard here, when Bluetuft approached. She looked up, a cheerful purr rising in her throat, and smiled at him. “Trying to decide whether to see if there’s any room on the dawn patrol for one more.” She said, glancing over at the cats who were supposed to be going. Then she looked back at Bluetuft and tilted her head. “Or maybe I’ll go hunting. I prefer having company for that, though.” She supposed Bluetuft was probably busy. But it didn’t hurt to ask, right? “I don’t suppose you’re free to join me on a hunting trip?” She asked hopefully, and tilted her head the other way, giving her best winning smile. “If you’re not busy, of course.” She didn’t know him too well yet. But that could change. She wanted to get to know everyone in camp a bit better, and why not start with one cat at a time? Especially as she hadn’t been picked for patrol duty yet.

ferretmask with hemlockgaze _________________________________
The ghost approached from her right side; all ethereal, white, and spirit-like. Ferretmask was surprised. Terrified in that split-second-adrenaline way, like when you hear an unexpected loud noise or see a jump scare in a children’s movie. It did not help that the tawny and white she-cat was always on edge. She had anxiety. Her paws were always hovering over metaphorical fight-or-flight buttons and even the most innocuous stimulus might cause her to slam one down. Ferretmask was always teetering at the threshold. So, she screamed.
“Ah!” The she-cat jumped at the sudden intrusion of words. Only about three inches in the air. But it was a jump. Her fur stood on end. Her eyes widened. Her face morphed into one of abject terror – only to soften into effusive embarrassment as soon as she noticed it was not a ghost haunting her but just Hemlockgaze. J-Just Hemlockgaze. Oh dear.
“Oh, oh StarClan, I’m so sorry I was – I guess I was so lost in thought that I didn’t see you coming and-“, the she-cat lowered her head in shame. “-got spooked. Sorry. Again.”
She drew a paw over her muzzle.
“But – uh – yeah, I guess I am. I'm just-” Ferretmask let her gaze trail through the camp. Was anyone close? Why would she have any reason to be suspicious? Nothing she was saying was treasonous, nor was it unreasonable. Perhaps she was only afraid someone would try and fight her. “-A little shaken by the fighting. Earlier. Um. And I was going to get some air.”
The she-cat turned to look at Hemlockgaze. She wasn’t close with him – though this was not unusual, because wasn’t a particularly social cat and Ferretmask had difficulty maintaining friendships.
“You can come with me, if you want. I don't really know where I'm going but. Company is nice. No pressure. Of course."

Goldengaze with Flinchpaw (Falconwing ) || Location: Camp
The molly shifted, raising her head to look over at her apprentice. "Morning Flinchpaw," Goldengaze took note of her shivering apprentice. While she hadn't even had her for a moon yet, the dark pelted warrior understood how fragile Flinchpaw was. Goldengaze could only assume Batstar had assigned Flinchpaw to her because of their contrasting personalities. "How are you doing this morning, ready for some hunting maybe? We could possibly join the patrol." Goldengaze asked and offered, stretching out her paws as she sat up. Over the past moon or so as the drought had become worse, Goldengaze had become more accustomed to the tension, not that she enjoyed it. (my apologies! I hadn't gotten the notification for you @ing me! Sorry work has been crazy lately, I am here now Flinchpaw Camp || Goldengaze The young feline didn't bother answering how she was doing this morning, as she knew that the anxiety was clearly visible. Instead she pressed it down and did her best to move forward from this mornings warrior tussle. Looking shyly into Goldengaze's eyes Flinchpaw managed her response. "Hunting sounds good" tone still soft. "Maybe I can try to get better at catching birds now that the ground isn't as marshy. Sinking in the sticky mud is so frustrating!" The change of subject was exactly what the little shecat needed to move past the anxious feeling that churned uncomfortably beneath her pelt and in her belly. Having just recently begun her apprenticeship, Flinchpaw had been doing her best to not let her mentor down. So far very few of her hunting trips had been successful, but today was not that day. Determination started to grow within the green apprentice as she waited patiently for Goldengaze to take the lead.

hemlockgazeaccompanied by Ferretmask | camp So much for trying to socialize the proper way. He had scared the living daylights out of Ferretmask that it made her jump into the air and, on top of that, scream. Though it wasn't a high jump, he still felt waves of guilt smack him right in the gut. Even her scream left the white tom startled and petrified to the point that he refused to utter a word.
With how pale his fur was, it was no surprise that Hemlockgaze scared the she-cat before him. Having such an eerie presence and being silent didn't help either. His blazing amber eyes quickly averted Ferretmask's gaze, falling to his paws as he hung his head in embarrassment, refusing to look up. So stupid. How could you be so stupid? he asked himself, feeling a pang of disgrace in his throat and chest. You're such a mousebrain!
"N-No. I... It's my fault, I'm the one... who, um," he sputtered, bringing his insecure gaze up to hers. "Scared you. I didn't mean it, I didn't mean it at all! I'm sorry, I'm sorry... I'm very sorry."
At this point, Hemlockgaze wanted to stick his paw into his mouth for over apologizing to the she-cat. The more and more he spoke, the more ludicrous he sounded. Why couldn't he shut his mouth when it was necessary? Letting out a shaky sigh, the warrior did his best to keep his attention on Ferretmask's words and nothing else. Not his surroundings or other cats-- just Ferretmask's mew.
The two felines seemed a bit more alike than what he figured. Neither were great at socializing, and to what he knew, Ferretmask didn't have a close friend or a group of friends within ShadowClan. Maybe it would make their small outing easier to keep up with? He wasn't too sure, but it was a start which he desperately needed.
"Oh, right... the fighting," he meowed, cringing audibly at the memory of it. It was one of the last things he wanted to think of, let alone discuss. "S-Sure, I'll tag along. As long as you're okay with that, of course. I won't get in your way, I promise. Uh, you can lead the way and I'll follow, if that's all right?"

Mossynose A soft chortle of laughter escaped from Mossynose. She knew she probably shouldn't encourage the smack talk but Crowsong wasn't wrong. The molly in question has done some questionable things over the seasons. She was reckless and direct; good traits in a warrior but a pain to deal with as a clanmate. "Maybe one day, she will knock it loose or someone will help her," the deputy smirked. This little fight wouldn't be the last that Turtlecloud would initiate.
Mossynose purred. Her green eyes brightening with happiness. She dipped her head before ducking out of the warrior den. Her gaze flickering around before looking back towards her sister. "Dawn and sunhigh border patrols need to be set up," she meowed, diving straight into business, then her gaze flickered towards fresh-kill pile. "And perhaps a hunting patrol or two," she mused faintly, trying to remember what places the patrols yesterday said were good hunting spots.

Shadowclan Camp - "Oh yes," Aspenpaw mewed sarcastically, rolling her eyes. "How could I forget I was a Skyclan apprentice," She hissed at her mentor's bird hunting comment, distaste in her voice as she spat the enemy clan's name. But she had resolved herself to following Martenstep, knowing any complaints or arguments would fall on deaf ears. "Fine, fine. I'm coming," She hissed impatiently, swiping her mentor's tail out of her face.
Martenstep's teasing about the cleanliness coat infuriated her and she did her best to hold back a gag. If the mud and murky water that usually populated Shadowclan territory wasn't bad enough, now she had to go out to bake in the sun and get coated in dust. At least the mud was cool.
The apprentice dipped her head quickly to Cinderfall in greeting as she and her mentor joined the warrior. She snorted at the tabby's suggestion for the hunting spot. "So now Shadowclan has so pathetic that we're scrabbling for scraps from other clan's territories?" She jibed. The idea didn't sit well with her. While Cinderfall definitely had a point, hunting by the border in hopes of forest prey from across the Thunderpath seemed... wrong to her. Aspenpaw liked to believe Shadowclan could fend for itself on the prey Starclan had given them, not mice and squirrels from the woods. But then, she didn't fully understand the devastation the drought was doing to the marsh.
"It would be very smart to look near pools of water if there were any," Aspenpaw snorted mockingly, tugging out a clump of moss from between her claws. It seemed no idea was a good one to the apprentice but she wasn't about to come up with a better one herself. "And I don't scare off prey!" She hissed, suddenly more heated rather than sarcastically disinterested. "I bet Thunderclan prey can hear you coming the way I've heard you walking on this dry ground."

MARTENSNAP shadowclan camp aspenpaw / 𝑓𝑜𝑥 cinderfall / highprince ------------------------------
Martensnap despised his apprentice, and she seemed reciprocated the feeling. The way she spoke made Martensnap want to claw her face off; she was so disrespectful and selfish! But he had to remind himself that she was just an apprentice, and maybe with more experience and training she'll realize speaking like an entitled kit will get her no prey. Dear StarClan I hope she quits it with her snarky remarks.
"Right now we don't have time to pick and chose what prey we're catch, we're in a drought, most of the prey has left to find water or is dying out, we have to deal with what we have," he snapped in her face. "We aren't going to survive long if we adapt your attitude of only choosing what StarClan has given us in our territory. If a mouse form ThunderClan passes over and enters our land, we catch and eat it, we don't throw perfectly good prey away because it has the scent of ThunderClan."
He flicked his tail towards Cinderfall, "Her idea of hunting near the thunderpath is a great idea, and I'm sorry you have fur in your brain from your constant grooming. If you want to ever become a warrior you have to stop acting like a kittypet who can only eat whatever gross pellets their twolegs give them."
There was so much more he wanted to say, but he restrained himself by biting his lip. His clanmates would probably not be too accepting of him cursing out an apprentice, his apprentice. I need to train her better, I've been to lax on her...too enabling. Anger clouded his judgement so he decided the first step was to cuff her over the ear with a claw. He hissed, "Stop being so disrespectful.' He swiftly released her ear then headed towards the entrance of camp.

Embergaze shadowclan camp | accompanied by Ivythroat Ivythroat sighed and slightly narrowed her eyes at him, and Embergaze caught the hint. Mentally backpedaling, he shrugged nonchalantly. "Ah well, it happens to the best of us. No need to make a fuss over it, right?" The black tom nodded toward the freshkill pile, a friendly smile on his muzzle. "Maybe some food would take your mind off it?" Should I offer to bring her something? No, she'll probably want to pick out her own prey.
Embergaze padded over to the heap of prey and began to nose through it. It was still morning, so there wasn't much there yet. "I haven't had breakfast yet and I'm supposed to be heading out on a border patrol later," he meowed conversationally. "It'd be nice to have some company while I eat, though." He prodded a small mourning dove, brow furrowed. No, not that one. Feathers always get stuck in my throat and make me hiccup. He let out a quiet breath of a disappointment and selected a mouse instead. I guess this'll have to do. I miss having frogs and lizards. "Stupid dry season," he muttered.

ferretmask with hemlockgaze _________________________________
“Oh! Oh you’re fine”, Ferretmask trips over her words, as effusive in her apologies as she is in her stutters. Anxiety bubbles in the back of Ferretmask’s throat. She hates, hates, (look, we even used italics; it’s that serious), making other cats uncomfortable. See, Ferretmask is state-level uncomfortable. She rests at the precipice of, “this is not ok”. She can’t buck the feeling of “not belonging” from her back; something always seems off about every place she is in, and she has the lingering suspicion that the thing is her. Imagine making every place you are in worse? Imagine the weight of that. Being both Atlas and the globe. You are the thing weighing yourself down; the burden you shoulder is also you, and everyone bears witness to it. She would hate to make anyone else feel the way she does all the time. Misery does not love company. That is a lie. It is toxic, and it is a lie.
“Please don’t be sorry. It’s my fault too. I’m like, super jumpy. You should see me out hunting. A lizard will, like, rustle a bush and I’ll be three feet up in the air. My mentor swore I’d never be a warrior because I was more afraid of mice than they were of me. So like. Um. Please don’t be sorry.”
“Sorry for rambling.” Ferretmask wipes her paw over her ear yet again; another episode in the unexciting and second-hand-embarrassment-inducing saga of Ferretmask trying to brush away her shame. We feel for her. Truly, we do.
The she-cat dropped down into a long stretch. The white fur on her belly mixed with the dusty belly of camp.
“Oh, yay!” Ferretmask rose out of the stretch gleaming. For once, she wouldn’t be alone! “You won’t get in my way. I’m like. Ok. Not really going hunting or anything. I mean. If I see something and can catch it I will, but. There would be nothing to get in the way of. So. Um. No worries.”
She twitches her ears towards the entrance of camp. “You cool with leaving now, or?”
Ferretmask leaves the sentence hanging.

Goldengaze with Flinchpaw (Falconwing ) || Location: Camp
A small smile graced Goldengaze as she nodded to Flinchpaw. Though it was an effort to avoid a topic, Flinchpaw still did seem excited about hunting. If not a bit different in attitude about it, much more determined than she had been. However, the idea that either of them would catch much of anything was a bit too hopeful. Not that Goldengaze would crush her apprentices spirit like that. "Well, alright then." the molly stretched out as she stood, looking over to Flinchpaw. "Come along then." she nodded to the camp's entrance, "I'll let you pick where we hunt as well, which means you get to guide us there." Goldengaze supposed testing her apprentice on her memory of the territory wouldn't be bad. If Flinchpaw messed up, she'd just have to guide her back in the right direction.
