Yarrowthroat with Hailfur // camp The brush of Hailfur's tail was certainly attention catching, the molly narrowing her eyes at the tomcat before shifting to sit closer to him. Perhaps he was experiencing anxieties that would go left unsaid, but understood. Little bouts of affection between the two weren't rare but rather common, their companionship going beyond friendship. Though pelt brushes and tail taps danced along the fine line of platonic and romantic, though Yarrowthroat knew it would never fully cross over, but rather stay in the undefined gray area. The idea of mates didn't often come across the brown molly's mind, she didn't see the point in them and she didn't have much interest in kittens. Why should she worry about a romantic partner when she had Hailfur right beside her.
"I agree. It was unfair of her to make such a big decision and blindside the rest of us at a gathering then wait for news to spread to her own clan." Yarrowthroat paused to lick the side of her paw before drawing it over one of her ears. "It's almost cowardly if you ask me." She spoke simply.
Leaning down to finish the last couple bites of her blackbird, as Hailfur didn't seem to take her up on the offer, a purr begins to rumble in her throat at his praise. Her own feathery tail lays comfortably on his back, appreciative of his words.
After licking her whiskers clean, Yarrowthroat opens her maw to respond when a shriek from the apprentices den causes her to cringe. Her head whips towards the den and she narrows her sharp, green eyes, fur beginning to bristle a bit. She recognized the voice of Starledpaw, speaking of the cat, and she wonders if there was any reason for the 'paw to be so disruptive. Taking a moment to roll her eyes and settle her fur, she turns back to Hailfur.
"I'm sure the heat will start to get to everyone's head. A fight is inevitable at this point. I'm just not sure who's going to start it." The brown molly tucks her chin in an attempt to smooth the fur on her chest. "If it's not with Thunderclan then it's going to be me clawing the ears off of Startledpaw, I swear that apprentice is going to deafen the entire clan." She mutters, shaking her head then flattening another section of fur with her tongue.

Lilacdawn Lilacdawn open, mentions Burningsight // camp Lilacdawn sat stiffly at the edge of camp, only having moved when Squirrelstar called the clan for a meeting. Her ears perked and listened in case her name would be called out. The pinned back against her head in disappointment when it wasn't called for the two patrols, but then again she wasn't too upset. She's not sure if she wanted to be apart of either patrol if it was to ask for more territory.
No more climbing trees, going to Riverclan and Thunderclan to ask for more territory. The golden molly was growing concerned with the future of their clan. Was Skyclan in trouble? Should they be worried? Her blue eyes followed the patrols out and she silently wished them luck, hoping no trouble would come out of it, but border excursions were likely to happen.
In an attempt to at least do something, Lilacdawn got to her paws and began to search for her mate. She weaved around the hustle and bustle of cats, avoiding tumbling apprentices and trying not to cut through conversations that some warriors were having. Her intent was to try and talk him into perhaps a brisk stroll through the territory. She was just itching to do something and it'd been a while since her and Burningsight spent some time together.
Not entirely giving up, but taking a moment to stand still in the middle of camp, Lilacdawn let out a frustrated sigh and stubbornly sat down. She was beginning to think he'd snuck off somewhere before she could catch him. Starclan let that not be the case.

Dustclaw Apprentice's den // OpenDustclaw awoke with a start as he heard a yowl ring out across the camp. It sounded like Startledpaw. He took his time as he fell into a long stretch, hoping to smooth the fur on his spine. Realization hit him at what his sister, Swiftpaw's reaction would be to Startledpaw's outburst. He snickered, considering that his sister's nest was fairly close to his. As he padded towards the fresh kill pile, and dipped his head toward Speckledcreek and Elmheart as he passed. Dustclaw grabbed a mouse out of the piled and walked away from the toms toward the apprentice's den. He veered off and layed down beside the edge of the den. Waiting for Swiftpaw to come out.
As he waited, Dustclaw thought about what Squirrelstar had announced. Banning tree climbing? Isn't that part of what made Skyclan special? He sighed, how were they going to catch birds and squirrels? By banning tree climbing Squirrelstar is forcing us to be landbound. At this point I wouldn't be surprised if she made us take hunting lessons from Thunderclan! Dustclaw thought about everything for a minute, if he wasn't caught climbing trees, he wouldn't be punished! Now all he had to do was convince Swiftpaw to help him, and his plan would work!
Swiftpaw Apprentice's Den // Mentions Startledpaw // Open Swiftpaw stood in an open clearing surrounded by trees. It was warm, typical Greenleaf weather a cool breeze rustled the branches overhead. As she scented the air, she caught the smell of something. Squirrel! Immediately she shot up a tree, in pursue on the squirrel. As she was about to catch the fuzzy animal, Swiftpaw caught sight of a flock of birds. One of them let out a shrill shriek, loud enough to wake the dead.
Swiftpaw let out a high pitched yelp as she leapt to her paws, fur bristling, claws unsheathed. She took a moment to be bounced back to reality. As the startled apprentice looked around the den surprised to see Startledpaw, and Asterpaw off to one side. Of course! That was Startledpaw! She shook her head, of course he would be the one to let out that noise. She began a long stretch. Let's hope this Greenleaf is over soon. As she walked out of the den, she was surprised to see Dustclaw waiting for her. She nodded in his direction to show she acknowledged him, and went to the fresh kill pile. Glancing at it, she took a crow and sat down next to Dustclaw.

Burningsight With Lilacdawn Camp The tom had been just returning to camp, a small squirrel dangling in his jaw when he noticed the leader stepping down from the high branch. Of course he had missed the meeting, he didn't really care to hear much of it. His son was laying in the medicine cat's den with many injuries, to the point he was unsure if he would ever become a warrior. He didn't want to hear how much of his own offspring had failed, it was an embarrassment to him. Luckily for the tom, he did have a do over family with Lilacdawn. Speaking of the pretty molly, his eyes scanned the clearing for her. She was sitting by herself, perhaps looking for him. He certainly enjoyed the attention she gave him, she seemed much better than his past mate. She was constantly nagging him to spend more time with the kits but he had his own life outside them. It wasn't his fault they couldn't learn much as kits. Even now, though, he didn't spend much attention to them. They seemed to be not up to par, not where he was in life at their age. He shook the thoughts away and sat his squirrel down on the prey pile before casually strolling to his mate, brushing his cheek against hers in greeting, a purr escaping his throat.
"I am sorry I wasn't here, I thought it would be nice to go hunting before the sun was beating down on us. Please forgive me." He stepped back, staring at her. "Now that I've hunted for the day, I'm all yours though, we can do whatever you'd like" He hoped she didn't want to go visiting his kits, they weren't hers anyways so she probably wouldn't be interested in doing so. Hopefully, she was more interested in another hunt or just spending time in camp together. 𝚛𝚊𝚒𝚗𝚢

"That's just how life is here," pointed out Elmheart. "There's danger everywhere. I'm sure that even kittypets have dangerous things in their life. We just equip our apprentices with ways to survive that danger. Or the smarts to think of their own ways of dealing with them." His tail flicked and he struggled with trying to think up something more reassuring to say. "But she is still an apprentice. Don't you remember enjoying sleeping in when you were one of those?" His whiskers twitched with amusement over the thought. He tilted his head after a second and looked at Speckledcreek. "And what's nerve-wracking then? Or what do you enjoy? Do you have any part of being a mentor that stands out?"

Darkstride Robin's Wing Crest w/ Littledove dαιѕy & Stoatheart Sparkly Reference point for Warblerflame Ivyfalcon ((Sorry for the delay guys I find it hard to RP on the weekends)) A casual shrug rolled from Darkstrides shoulders. He was only just teasing about the tom's scent but Stoatheart did make a valid point. Hunting from the forest floor was definitely something that none of the were accustomed to doing on daily basis. Hunting from the trees was Skyclans signature hunting style and some cats took it to the extreme of only hunting in the trees. "Well if the other clans can manage and get by from only hunting on the ground then I think we can do it too. Skyclan cats were smart enough to think of an easier way to hunt, and we are still smart enough to think of ways to fill the freshkill pile." Giving a determined nod the tom lifted his muzzle high. The wind had shifted direction bringing the faint scents of Thunderclan to them. The dark tabby thought nothing of it for the Thunderclan border was in that direction. However just as he went to start speaking to Stoatheart and Littledove again, the strong scent of rabbit wafted into his nose. "Woah! You guys smell that?!" He questioned excitedly. "That's got to be like a whole family of rabbits! The clan would eat good if came home with atleast two, but could you imagine each one of us coming home carrying a rabbit. We wouldn't have to hunt for the rest of the day!" Yellow eyes glowed excitedly hoping that his companions were up to the challenge of rabbit hunting close to the Thunderclan border.

Stoatheart || Robin Wing's Crest || Darkstride ( Falconwing) and Littledove ( dαιѕy) "It's tempting," Stoatheart admitted, "But what if we accidentally cross over into ThunderClan territory? They know that we have a tree ban, it was announced at the gathering. They'd have plenty of reasons to accuse us of trying to poach their prey." He paused for a moment, looking in the direction that the rabbit-scent was drifting over from. It was certainly tempting... one plump rabbit alone could feed the nursery and elder's for a day or so, but if they came back with three good, round rabbits, that'd be enough fresh-kill to last the entire Clan for a few days. "... Maybe we could just check it out. From a distance."

L I T T L E D O V E Robin Wing's Crest with Stoatheart + Darkstride
Littledove had been zoning out for so long, the she-cat hadn't even realized Stoatheart and Darkstride talking, a calculating expression fixed on her face. When she finally snapped out of it, she glanced between the two toms, smiling lightly. She nudged Darkstride playfully before turning to Stoatheart, listening to the two warriors discuss the possibility of a rabbits nest. Realizing they were achingly close to the ThunderClan border, the Molly flattened her ears awkwardly, unsure if a run-in with a patrol would be worth a few squirrels. Though, as the thought crept into her mind again, she remembered how hungry the elders were and how gaunt the apprentices seemed. "Hmm. I'd say it's worth it, should we get another warrior, just in case? I can run a grab Dragonflypaw," she mused, thinking of her own apprentice. Suddenly she shook her head, battling with her own thoughts. "It wouldn't be worth it, never mind. Let's go, maybe we can get a feast for the clan!" she purred suddenly, her blue eyes glittering with excitement. She kneaded the ground with eager paws, claws unsheathing and sinking into the dry, cracked soil beneath her; just another reminder of the drought that gripped the clans like a plague. "But, Stoatheart is right to be wary. ThunderClan is always so bossy about their border, let's steer clear of them," she mewed, nodding in agreement to the other warriors. { should we continue without warbler flame? we can always go to the border page as well. } Sparkly Falconwing

asterpaw startledpaw // apprentice's den Asterpaw nearly laughed at Startledpaw's distress, though she held herself back for his sake. His name was certainly fitting this morning. "You slept through a whole moon, Startledpaw. No one knew when you'd wake up," Asterpaw joked, purring lightly. She was glad to have the tabby as a friend - the two had gotten into their fair share of trouble already, and their apprenticeships were nowhere near over yet. She would pity her clanmates if getting into mischief wasn't so much fun. "Morning training hasn't even started yet. That's why I have a suggestion." Asterpaw paused for dramatic effect, swishing her tail. "We should go out hunting before our mentors come to get us. It'll be fun."

skyclan camp ; with yarrowthroat, swiftpaw is mentioned;
We are at a crossroad. Can you see it? There are lines drawn through the center of camp, invisible yet as distinct as the breeze. You and I stand on one side, and a faceless crowd gathers on the other. Two corners are vacant, physically. In one, there is a storm. In the other, there is nothing. Perhaps it contains a memory. A small brown she-cat crosses the line with the delicate agility of a spider. Her body is in flux; it is there, and not; it is shadow, and not. She is empyrean. Hailfur looks at the slender brown frame of Yarrowthroat and sees three different cats fighting for the space of recognition.
Hailfur was one of Branchstar’s apprentices while she was still deputy. He had nearly burst from honor at his apprentice’s ceremony. He was a small white cloud crackling with silent thunder. She was empyrean. Hailfur had gone through each pace of his apprenticeship in her footsteps; loving her, looking up to her. He projected at least five layers of identity onto her: she was a stand-in for mother, crush, friend, leader, StarClan. She was wrapped in the spider-woven complexes of Hailfur’s young mind. It was not until he was a fully bloomed warrior that he saw her for the warrior she was. Yarrowthroat is shifting. She is leaning down towards the black-bird and Hailfur half-expects golden eyes to blink up at him, instead of her iridescent green.
The she-cat was more of a friend than anyone Hailfur had ever known. He had difficulty with intimacy. Social interaction was a game. He could play it. He could win. It was not genuine, though. He knew other cats in his clan about as well as you know your chess pieces. Yarrowthroat was sitting at his side. Who was the queen?
“I wouldn’t use those words”, Hailfur pressed his side against Yarrowthroat as she moved closer to him. “But I second the sentiment. Squirrelstar certainly owes the clan clarity. Especially given that we broke in the morning by begging for territory from RiverClan.”
The tom was vaguely irked he was not asked to join the patrol.
Startledpaw’s dramatic interjection, all loud and bird-startling, paired with Yarrowthroat’s quip, brought a small smile to Hailfur’s typically impassive face. “That may be an excellent strategy, my dear. If we send Startledpaw on the battle patrol, the other clans may be so annoyed they relent the territory just to get away from him.”
Hailfur eyes Yarrowthroats bird. A dry leaf tumbles through the air.
“Would you be down for a morning hunt? I want to take Swiftpaw out – she could use some practice tracking prey on the ground.”

skyclan camp ; with asterpaw ;
“A WHOLE M-oh wait, you’re messing with me”, Startledpaw had leaped to his feet; his fur was still lightning-struck and pointing in every direction. He was an algorithm spitting back error messages, all disgruntled chirping and infinite loops replaying scenes from his dream over and over again. He is, literally and mentally, screaming. The tom settles back down onto his haunches. He swings his head around the apprentice’s den. It’s pretty empty, with Bravepaw in the medicine cats den and Canarypaw presumably with him. The dark haunches of Swiftpaw and just disappearing out of the entrance as the tom looks back at Asterpaw.
“You’re evil. You know that? The dark forest is shaking right now, in fear, because of you.” Startledpaw punts his anxiety into ThunderClan territory and leans forward towards Asterpaw. “Oh! Hunting! Now that’s exciting. I can’t wait to watch squirrels run into trees and taunt us because we can’t chase them.”
The tom drops into a stretch and then begins trotting, almost bouncing, out of the apprentice’s den. “I’m ready whenever you are!”

Darkstride Robin's Wing Crest w/ Littledove dαιѕy & Stoatheart Sparkly Reference point for Warblerflame Ivyfalcon It was hard for him not to imagine becoming a clan hero, bringing home such a feast would almost be legendary. Not that Darkstride lived for fame and fortune amongst his clanmates, but it would be nice to say the least. As Stoatheart began to deliberate Darkstrides yellow eyes cast a longing gaze in the direction of the strong scenting rabbits. Finally it seemed as if the tom was relenting and atleast wanting to investigate. Hope and excitement began to flow through the dark tabby, so much so that he even went as far as to take a couple steps in his intended direction. Littledove seemed to be even more excited about it. Yes there was the fact that they needed to be wary of Thunderclan by being so close to the border, and they would be. The shecats mention of having another cat joining them was a good idea however to travel all the way back to camp and back they might risk losing the opportunity of catching the rabbits. "We could use another set of paws... but what if we take the time to find someone and the rabbits move on, possibly across the border?" He questioned to Littledove after she mentioned wanting to bring her apprentice along. "Maybe we will run into someone along the way", he added hopefully.

WarblerflameRobin Wing’s Crest | Littledove ( dαιѕy), Stoatheart ( Sparkly), Darkstride ( Falconwing) Warblerflame had been sent out to collect some cats to patrol the border, as few were left in camp. She padded through the forest alone, feeling kind of bored. She decided to head towards ThunderClan and hope some of her clanmates were in the area, since that was where her patrol was supposed to be headed. As she approached the spot known as Robin Wing’s Crest, she heard voices. Warblerflame sped up, easily finding the three cats.

L I T T L E D O V E at Robin Wing's Crest with Stoatheart, Darkstride + Warblerflame
As if on cue to Darkstride's comment, Warblerflame came strolling into the clearing, making Littledove's ears prick with curiosity. That was odd, she thought, though chocked it up to nothing but luck. Her tail shot straight up in the air and lashed to and fro at a leisure pace, clearly happy to see the other she-cat. "Warblerflame! We were just talking about needing another cat!" the silver she-cat exclaimed, excitement making her paws knead against the ground. As Stoatheart explained their findings, Littledove tasted the air again, trying to pinpoint the exact location of the hares. "It smells like they might be moving, but they seem slow. Maybe they're looking for food too?" she suggested plainly, eyes narrowing as she tried to focus. She was itching to catch a rabbit after faltering previously in front of an entire patrol, letting it slip clumsy between her claws. Determined not to relive that scene, Littledove reminded herself to stay as silent as a mouse. She flexed her claws and flicked her tail in the direction they were, blue eyes bright and focused. "Shall we go?" she inquired softly, glancing between the three warriors for confirmation. She nestled the robin she'd just caught underneath one of the gnarled roots, saving it from foxes or badgers. I'll come grab it after we catch some rabbits! She thought eagerly, trotting back to the patrol.

Hello everyone! It'll be a while till this happens and I posted this in the discord but I wanted to check with you guys too! So eventually I plan on Squirrelstar having kits(with a surrogate!). It'll most likely be after the drought, so again itll be a little while, but I wanted to know if anyone wanted to claim one of the kits. She will be having around 2-3 due to the stress levels and stuff. Below are the genetics but bare in mind that they also have a 50/50 chance of having a curly coat! "Kittens can be shorthaired or longhaired. Toms can be chocolate, red, lilac, or cream. Mollies can be chocolate, chocolate tortoiseshell, lilac, or lilac-cream tortoiseshell. Kittens can be solid, mackerel tabby, or classic tabby. Genetically solid reds still display a tabby pattern. Kittens will have no white spotting." If you wish to to claim a kit, and to not spam the SkyClan Roleplay Thread, please message here or on discord c:

Bugstep
Without trees to climb, SkyClan was left without their main source of prey. They were cats of the trees, with a skill that no other clan had yet to master, and even though Bugstep had never been an amazing climber - his long limbs had always struggled to get a firm grasp of the trees without it being awkward - he had been proud when he mastered the skill and went on to become a warrior of SkyClan. Having that taken away from him now, and all because Duskfrost had been stupid enough to allow her apprentice to climb a tree he shouldn’t be climbing was a shock to Bugstep. Why should they all be punished for Duskfrost’s mistake? Still, if Squirrelstar thought this was the best move, than Bugstep wasn’t going to question her. Regardless on how he felt about it, he respected Squirrelstar and she deserved the benefit of the doubt. Curling his tail over his paws, Bugstep narrowed his eyes from his spot in camp, lost in thought over this conundrum.

Cricketpaw
Up bright and early, Cricketpaw had busied himself with things to do. First he had tidied up his nest in the apprentice’s den, then he had taken it upon himself to tidy up everyone else’s nests as well, like a sort of secret surprise for tonight when all the apprentices went back to bed. Hopefully they liked the tidy nests, Cricketpaw had worked hard on those. He may still be new to the whole apprentice thing but he was determined to make a good impression on all the older apprentices already there. After he had finished up there, Cricketpaw had decided to visit with the elders for awhile, they deserved some attention too and he had always enjoyed their company back when he was a kit, so why wouldn’t he continue to do that now that he was an apprentice? Eventually though, he had to leave the elders for the day and padded out of their den. Sighing, Cricketpaw looked around him to see if there was anything else he could do. He wasn’t sure where his mentor was, but he didn’t want to disturb Acornmask, what if he was busy? Casting a glance towards the fresh kill pile, Cricketpaw resisted the urge to grab something to eat despite the rumble in his stomach. All the activity today had worn him down enough that food sounded nice, however it was an apprentice’s duty to feed the clan before he fed himself and he hadn’t gone hunting yet, so food could wait. Still not sure what to do with himself, Cricketpaw sat down and looked around camp in search of anyone that might require his assistance.

asterpaw startledpaw // skyclan camp Asterpaw grinned at the suggestion that the dark forest would fear her - she couldn't deny that it was nice to strike fear into others. As an apprentice on the smaller side, however, she usually had to stick to intimidating her younger clanmates. One day she would be old enough to scare anyone in camp (she's based this assumption off of Wormwood, who certainly terrified her whenever she had elder duties.)"I'll shake the trees so that the squirrels fall out," she said, following Startledpaw out of the den. Judging by the annoyed looks on some of her clanmates' faces, her friend's yowling had been heard 'round the camp. She made a beeline towards the entrance of camp, figuring that it was early enough in the morning that no one would question them. "Now be quiet, we don't need the whole forest staring at us." eaglewing bugstep // skyclan camp Eaglewing didn't exactly share the same feelings as her clanmates. Sure, not being able to climb trees anymore was annoying, but Eaglewing didn't think it was something to get up in arms about. The rain would fall soon, the trees would be strong, and Squirrelstar would lift the ban. She was like an optimistic little cloud, flitting through camp while many others seemed to have little thunderstorms floating above their heads. One such cat was Bugstep, who - unfortunately for him - Eaglewing had spotted sitting by himself. He was sort of a pet project of hers, to put it bluntly. They were close in age, and she'd spent nearly all the time since they'd left the nursery trying to cheer him up. She hadn't quite understood yet that it wasn't doing much, and she refused to give up trying. She bounded over to him, a fluffy little harbinger of an annoying morning."Good morning, Bugstep!" She greeted, beaming at him. Now there was no getting out of this, not when Eaglewing stuck to you like a jubilant tick, or an enthusiastic bunch of burrs. "Isn't it a lovely day out? I know everyone's sick of the heat but the sunshine's just so nice, don't you think? It's better than constant rain pouring down and soaking through your fur. Then your paws just get all muddy and it's no fun," she rambled, punctuating her speech with an emphasized sigh. She wasn't trying to be malicious when she got like this, she just didn't quite understand that most didn't appreciate her tangents.

Bugstep
His thoughts were interrupted by a pesky little cloud on feet. Being only a moon older than the she-cat, Bugstep had known Eaglewing practically all of his life. From the time they were kits stuck in the nursery all the way to now. Knowing her as long as he did, you would think that she would’ve given up on pleasantries, and yet here they were. “Eaglewing-“ he greeted with a curt nod. ”you’re awfully chipper right now,” he added. Eaglewing was a chipper cat in general, which was something Bugstep was not. Their personalities contrasted each other like night and day. “As for the heat, maybe you prefer it, but you don’t have a black pelt,” Bugstep added sharply, flicking his long black tail. His pelt was a magnet for the heat, which made him have to be even more careful than most to not overheat or dehydrate. That was something Eaglewing and her snow like pelt would never understand.

eaglewing bugstep // skyclan camp Eaglewing laughed, assuming that Bugstep had told a joke. She wasn't always the best at picking up on social cues, but she tried her best anyway. "You're partially white, you should be fine. Plus, your fur is so short it almost isn't there," she teased, continuing to beam at Bugstep so hard she ran the risk of blinding him. It was probably a good thing that Bugstep didn't feed into her hyperactive attitude, or else Eaglewing probably would've dragged him off on some inane adventure by now. "Everyone's real chipper this morning, huh? Really up and at 'em?" Sarcasm wasn't Eaglewing's strong suit, so it came out sounding sort of weirdly genuine.

Bugstep
Bugstep gave her an unamused look. It was true that his fur was a lot shorter than hers and it was much thinner than most cats too. Not so thin that he froze to death in leafbare, but certainly thin enough that the got cold almost as easily as he could overheat. Still, Bugstep kept his unimpressed gaze fixed on Eaglewing. “Im not hairless, Eaglewing,” he commented in a dry voice. Looking away from the she-cat, Bugstep watched the cats that remained in camp. Most had already left for patrols or training by now, but there were still some about. Though he wouldn’t exactly call them “chipper” at least not compared to Eaglewing. “Did you come over here for a reason, or were you just bored?” Bugstep questioned with a small flick of his tail. That was kind of rude, even he knew that, but it just sort of slipped out and by now he couldn’t exactly take it back. This might be a bad hill to remain on but it’s the one he would make his home and eventually die on.

eaglewing bugstep // skyclan camp "Is it wrong of me to want to hang out with an old pal?" Eaglewing asked, completely disregarding the fact that Bugstep had made it extremely clear that he didn't want to be her friend. That kind of thing didn't deter her, unfortunately for everyone else. "You just looked so lonely, sulking around like that. It made me feel sad. You need to put yourself out there, Bugstep." She gave him a comically pleading look, a kind of puppy-eyes expression that she'd been using since she was a kit and trying to convince Cloudgust that he should take her out of camp.

Weird... Head slightly cocked sideways, Starclan sure was weaving everyone's path together at the right time. If only they would be this helpful in dire situations. Giving Warblerflame a warm welcome into the group he rubbed sides with her in a casual form before returning to stand beside Littledove. "Yes let's get going", he mewed speaking up when the pale grey tabby shecat suggested they get going. So ready to go himself Darkstride almost took the lead when he came to the quick realization that he was the youngest warrior. Looking to Warblerflame, the senior-most warrior amongst them, he waited expectantly for her to lead them. For a second there was an awkward silence as his impatience began to grow. Really only mere seconds had passed but for the hungry and eager tom it had felt like the sun had already moved to its sun high position. "Would you like to lead the patrol Warblerflame?" He questioned trying to move things along. 《Wanna move to the border page now?》

Bugstep
Bugstep looked down towards the molly with pointed ears. “Are we pals now? No one told me,” he responded dryly. Perhaps he should be nicer, after all Eaglewing was simply trying to help him out in her own way. Besides he had been reprimanded enough as an apprentice for his sour attitude. Apparently it wasn’t very becoming of a young warrior to snark off anyone in his vicinity. However as soon as Eaglewing pulled out the big kitten eyes, Bugstep couldn’t help but roll his own eyes in response as he looked away from her, flicking his long tail. “I’m not lonely, I was thinking,” he explained simply. Of course for someone that had done neither, maybe she couldn’t tell the difference. (Prince, just know that I love Eaglewing, Bugstep is just a mean, mean boy)“As for putting myself out there,” Bugstep continued as he returned his gaze back to the she-cat. “I would rather burn my paws off than do that.”

eaglewing bugstep // skyclan camp "Yes, we are pals," Eaglewing answered, puffing up in embarrassment. They'd known each other for-literally-ever, how could Bugstep not like her? Maybe it was her constantly over-enthusiastic attitude and tendency to trail off in the middle of conversations, but she didn't think those things were particularly important.
She frowned at Bugstep's pushback. She was just trying to help him, after all - it was no fun having no one to talk to. "Why? Is everyone else really that awful that you'd rather be alone all the time?" Eaglewing couldn't imagine ignoring all her clanmates. Maybe it was fine now, but eventually you'd end up old and bitter with no family or friends to rely on. It sounded terrible.

Bugstep
Oh yay, they were pals now. Part of Bugstep knew that no matter how rude he might be, he wouldn’t stop Eaglewing from talking to him. For some reason she didn’t take his behavior as a reason to back off and leave him alone, instead she used it as some odd chance to keep trying for whatever reason. Personally, if the roles were reversed, Bugstep would’ve given up a long time before now. If anything, he supposed that her determination was to be admired. Letting out a low sigh, Bugstep looked down at the fluffy white she-cat, something between annoyance and relented bemusement in his yellow eyes. “You’re not going to leave me alone, are you?” He questioned, pausing for a moment before he stood up and stretched out his long legs. “Well, if that’s the case, how do you feel about leaving camp for a bit? That fresh kill pile is pitiful at best and we might as well make ourselves useful,” he offered. This was odd for him, as he usually wouldn’t even consider having someone join him if he didn’t have to. However Bugstep figured that Eaglewing wasn’t going to give up anytime soon, so he might as well make the best of it.
