VULTUREFOOT windclan camp harebounce / 𝑓𝑜𝑥 ------------------------------
How much longer is she going to keep talking? She'll have to stop eventually...She sighed and put on a smile, "I'm sure once Teaselstar has rested he'll be happy to answer all your questions. It's, uh...nice of you to not want to bombard him with questions after his nine lives. You're such a considerate cat." It felt awful lying to Harebounce, but at the same time she wanted to keep doing it. If she slips up once and Harebounce notices, instead of it flying in one ear and out the other, she'll be crowfood. "So, how about we dig into this rabbit? I mean, we don't want flies getting it first, do we?" She pushed the rabbit towards Harebounce, winking. Please just start eating so I can think for a moment. Please, dear StarClan, shut up. "You can have the first bite, or most of it, actually. I'm not too hungry."

mottledspringaccompanied by merlincatcher | camp Mottledspring had slept plenty especially once she heard Dizzyfeather's yowl from the camp entrance. It wasn't too surprising that Teaselstar and Rabbitfoot had returned from the Moonstone already, but she imagined it was a grueling trip. The heat probably didn't help much either, though she had always wondered how different the weather was up there.
The tortoiseshell spotted Merlincatcher, a fellow moor runner, who was eyeing the new leader and the medicine cat before noticing that he had padded off to the prey pile. I wonder if he noticed anything? she thought as she leapt to her paws, ignoring the pain on her pads. It didn't help to sit in browning grass nor did it feel great to run on. She missed the lush green moorland beneath her paws. It was unfortunate that the drought was lasting longer than ever before.
"Hey, Merlincatcher!" she greeted, her thin tail flicking behind her smoothly as she stood besides him. "Teaselstar and Rabbitfoot are back, huh? Did they say anything about a deputy yet?" image source - tumblr | little blu ♥

doveheart starter-
A new dawn always meant, at least to Doveheart, the chance of new discovery. As the sun's unblinking eye lazily opened on the horizon, she checked over the collection of things she'd found whilst on her travels- a bumblebee's wing, part of a robin's egg, an acorn cap, a purple-toned stone, a hummingbird's skull... Doveheart thought they always looked beautiful, but there was something particularly dazzling about how the wispy morning light painted them. (If Dad had let me keep that owl pellet I found two days ago, she thought, the collection would look even better.) She skipped into camp to see Patchthroat, her father. The motley-furred tom was in deep thought about something or other, but as soon as he caught sight of her, the disenchanted look in his eye was replaced by a loving, fatherly gaze. "You be careful out there on the moors today," he told her, his expression affectionate but with a trace of paranoia. "Maybe don't go on the patrols today, especially given we have a new leader. You never know what wants to strike out there." "Oh, don't worry, Dad," she said, almost teasingly. "I know how to handle myself." "But the others don't know how to handle you, Doveheart. ...Just be careful. I don't like you being out there on your own." Patchthroat sauntered off, keeping his eyes on her, and Doveheart turned her head to the open sky, so full of possibilities. There was always something new to discover. Especially on a day like today.

Aldertail had woken his apprentice up early on his own volition, but the young she-cat would quickly learn that the thin tom was just as irritable in early morning as he was in the blinding light of sunhigh. The tabby had been particularly moody since the drought had worsened, often finding things to complain about while he and Robinpaw were out training. He’d navigated to the tunnel entrance in silence, keeping a squinted eye on the brightening sky. Upon reaching the familiar patch of subtly disturbed earth, he looked around, ears perked and eyes wide - then bowed his head to sniff the tunnel’s entrance for the scent of early patrols. Seeming satisfied, he marked his own presence, then glanced back to his apprentice. “Get moving before it gets too hot.” He didn’t waste his breath explaining the same thing he’d already lectured the she-cat on, but the threat of fires on the moor and the promise of extremely dry earth was of no benefit to the cats beneath the ground. “Take us towards Thunderclan,” he meowed flatly as they entered, only allowing himself to sound mildly relieved to be disappearing into the darkness. “The river is low, so you could bend towards the falls, or stay on the path of the Fourtrees. Don’t get us lost because I won’t be paying attention, and keep in mind that we don’t have freshkill to cover our scent.” He took pace behind the apprentice, instructing her with a stern and bored sounding voice. He didn’t include his final bit of advice, as he was sure his pupil knew it well; don’t miss anything. Every noise out of place, every breath of a strange scent, every twinge of movement or breeze on the whisker could be fatal if it went unnoticed or miscalculated. He’d told her this when they’d first been introduced, and had continued to say it for many moons. Robinpaw was nearing her final examination, however, so the tom had abandoned most attempts at unnecessary advice that could lead into unwanted conversation. (I’ll get gooseleaps starter up soon :>

Softheather open ( tags ) Shifting in her soft nest, the young queen slowly started to awake. She lifted her head gently, peering around the dim of the den. She twitched her whiskers as she noticed that Dizzyfeather was gone. She felt a flash of worry before remembering that other queen was sitting vigil for Teaselstar. Maybe he and Rabbitfoot returned already, she thought to herself and started to push herself to her paws. Softheather wrinkled her nose, she wasn't sure if she was exactly used to this whole expecting kits thing.
However for the queen's concerns, she knew that Dizzyfeather, Mintface, Rabbitfoot and her mate would be there for her if she needed their assistance. Not that Softheather was sure if she wanted their help yet or not. This was her first litter. A stubborn part of her wanted to deal with everything on her own as she navigated through these few moons.
Shaking her head, the gray and white queen drifted out of the nursery, ignoring the gentle sway of her stomach. She stepped out of the borrow eager to get back under wide open skies. Softheather's blue gaze drifted around camp, noting that Teaselstar was in fact back from his trip to moonstones and the camp seemed lively for the morning hours.
Softheather decided not to linger and head straight for the fresh-kill pile. She could start feeling a dull ache in her stomach and knew it was time to eat. Even if she wasn't hungry, she knew for the sake of her kits, she would have to consume something.

Furzepaw open ( tags ) Pushing himself to his paws, Furzepaw's amber gaze seemed bright in the dim of the morning. His brother, Gorsepaw was still resting in the circle of apprentices. He knew that from the soft snores that came from his nearly-ginger twin. Furzepaw shook his head with a fond look.
Furzepaw trotted away from the sleeping apprentices, eager to find his mentor for the coming day. He wondered Adderslink had any fun plans for them today, maybe they would go hunting or hunting for bugs. Hunting for bugs was an important part of being an apprentice, Gorsepaw told him. Surely his brother wouldn't lie to him.

Roseshine with Runningfire WindClan Camp Roseshine nodded to Runningfire as he approached, slightly surprised that he'd come to talk to her. "Good morning to you, too," she said back, fighting back a yawn. She didn't want to seem half-asleep in front of a more experienced warrior, even if she certainly was. "I'm sorry, Dizzyfeather's racket woke me up." She wouldn't be surprised if that's what had stirred Runningfire, as well. After all, she hadn't exactly tried to be quiet about Teaselstar's return. Roseshine knew that a new leader was exciting and all, but did she really have to wake the whole camp about it?

Olivepaw -- with Cloudgazer // Windclan Camp
The weight in the young apprentices paws felt heavy as Olivepaw dragged himself away from his sleeping spot, the dust that settled in his pelt from days before was camouflaged by his tan fur. He yawns and takes a moment to stand in place, shaking out his fur and trying to will any sleepiness away. Finally feeling awake enough for some interaction, Olivepaw's yellow gaze swept across the large camp's clearing. His whole body began to buzz with excitement as he thought of what he might be able to do today.
With heat nipping at his ears and paws, Olivepaw wondered just how warm it was going to get. As he thought about it, his eyes land on Cloudgazer who seemed to be staring up at the sky. Curious, the tan tom cast his own gaze to the sky, wondering if the elder she-cat had seen anything, but all he could see was clear skies. Weird. He approaches the other, getting close enough to hear Cloudgaze talking to herself.
"You would give your tail to do what?" Olivepaw asked with a grin, now close enough to press his side to the older molly's in greeting. "Morning, Cloudgazer!" He spoke more enthusiastically, facing the tri-colored elder. "Is there anything I can do for you this morning?"
Morelspots -- with Fleetfoot // Windclan Camp
Morelspots had been awake for quite some time now, but continued to lay in her nest. She watched as others began to rise and mill about, grabbing prey to eat or greeting each other. Her eyes kept wandering towards the den entrance, waiting for the newly named Teaselstar to appear. At some point in her waiting, the molly had dozed off again and awoke moments later Dizzyfeather's excited chatter. Teaselstar must be back, the she-cat though, cursing to herself for having fallen back asleep.
Stretching her front paws out, the brown and white tabby finally stood and held back from going up to their new leader right away, not wanting to cause a crowd. Instead, Morelspots began to approach Fleetfoot, smiling as she playfully stamped her paw down on the tom's tail. "Hey, Fleetfoot." She said at the same time as her paw came down. "What're you looking at?" Morelspots questioned, now moving beside him and craning her head in front of his face so she could look down his exact line of sight.

Merlincatcher with Mottledspring // in camp ༄ ✰ ༄ Using a rather large paw, Merlincatcher shifted through the prey pile, which wasn't that impressive due to the drought the moor was facing. Though his stomach had already given a pang, he didn't really feel hungry, his mood a bit too poor to eat. He didn't have much hope for their dismal prey situation and their leader was new and inexperienced. The future of WindClan wasn't looking very bright - in the moor runner's opinion.
At least he had incredibly short fur on his side. The peach fuzz that covered his body allowed him to tolerate much more heat than most of his clan mates. His ears perked at the approach of paws, his wide green eyes sliding to watch Mottledspring approach. He offered a wave of his tail in greeting, unable to work up the energy to smile.
"Yeah they've returned. I think they both went to rest after the journey," Merlincatcher relayed the information as promptly as he could. His head carefully tilted to one side as he let out a quiet sigh. "No news on the deputy yet, Mottlespring," he reported, curling his thin tail over his paws carefully.

Fleetfoot with Morelspots WindClan Camp Fleetfoot yelped in surprise as Morelspots stamped down on his tail. Once she moved, he held his tail close to his side, slightly afraid that she'd decide to step on it again. He twitched his whiskers in annoyance and pulled away when she shoved her head in front of his face. "Our new leader? What else would I be looking at, rabbit-brain?" He grunted. He glared at the brown and white molly, though he wasn't really that angry at her. Just a little angry that she was being a nuisance so early in the morning (Fleetfoot wouldn't acknowledge that he, too, was a nuisance early in the morning.) "So, what did you come to bother me for? You need in a pal in some kind of crazy scheme?"

adderslink- Blaze ♡ adderslink hadn't asked for an apprentice per se, but here he was anyway, and it wasn't like he couldn't -particularly- complain. dawnstar had said, when she gave him the furball, that the apprenticeship would be "good for both of them", whatever that meant. adderslink didn't know what she was getting at, and he didn't know now; what he did know is that he wasn't sure it had been a great idea of hers. and it wasn't like furzepaw was a bad apprentice. he never ran out of energy, but at least he wasn't threatening. it looked like the tom was expecting something from him. adderslink didn't like the expectation that he had to do something new for this apprentice every day. what was something that could keep this kid busy enough to get him off adderslink's tail for the day... and then he came up with an idea- if not his finest one. why not send the kid on a hunt that could never end? "hey, kid! have you ever heard of a snipe? it's a rare bird-" he feigned wonder, to try and draw furzepaw's excitement at the scale of the imagined beast- " with six legs and hound's teeth- and it makes for a great meal. say we go catch one today?" (he was fairly sure furzepaw did not know what a snipe actually was. or at least, he hoped he didn't.)

Morelspots -- with Fleetfoot // Windclan Camp
Morelspots sneered at him and moved aside, sitting comfortably next to Fleetfoot. Her left ear twitches at his response and she tilts her head slightly as she thinks, starting to grin. "No crazy schemes, at least not yet. It's nice to know I can count you in as a pal if I ever need one." She nudges him and watches for the tom's reaction. After a moment, Morelspots sighs and shakes her head. "I actually just wanted to see what you were up to, maybe convince you to catch some prey with me?" She poses it as a question, unsure if he would agree as she did recognize that she annoyed Fleetfoot quite a bit this morning.

Fleetfoot with Morelspots WindClan Camp "Aw, I was excited for a crazy scheme," Fleetfoot said, voice heavy with joking disappointment. He could feel his initial annoyance at Morelspots already fading. Most of his bouts of anger went away quickly, which Fleetfoot supposed was probably a good thing. At the invitation to go hunting, the ginger and white tom's eyes lit up. "Yeah! I need to stretch my legs, anyway, and sinking my teeth into some prey is a good way to do it." Fleetfoot stood and stretched, having gotten himself hyped up for hunting.

Morelspots -- with Fleetfoot // Windclan Camp
She was surprisingly grateful that Fleetfoot didn't hold onto his annoyance of her for very long, in fact she found herself smiling as she watched his blue eyes light up. Morelspots nods and rises to her paws, glancing towards the den entrance and wondering if the tunnels would feel cooler than the heat they were currently experiencing. The molly was thankful for her thin pelt when the weather got this intense, she couldn't imagine having longer fur at this moment.
"Alright then, where should we go?" Morelspots asked him, looking back to Fleetfoot with a grin as she began to trot out of camp.

Chickadeesong windclan camp | accompanied by Doveheart It was shaping up to be one of those days where the sky was so blue, you just had to get out on the open moor and breathe it all in. Just looking at it made Chickadeesong feel like she could run for hours. The young warrior had risen with the sun, as she often did, and she was itching to stretch her legs. Getting up early meant waiting patiently (and quietly) for everyone else to wake up. To her credit, she thought she'd done a fairly good job - she'd gotten better at being patient. But staying still and being quiet for more than five minutes? Well, she was working on it.
Chickadeesong looked up as Doveheart came skipping into camp, pausing to exchange greetings with an older brown-and-white tom. That must be Patchthroat. She and Doveheart were the same age, so they had practically grown up together, which meant that they were practically best friends (according to Chickadeesong). She was semi familiar with the other molly's father, but he was a tunneler, so she didn't have much of an excuse to talk to him. Plus, he was like, a lot older than her.
"Hey, Doveheart!" Chickadeesong called, scurrying over to greet the white molly as Patchthroat padded away. "It's morning! Isn't that wonderful? Who knows what today will hold?" She followed Doveheart's gaze up and up and up, and realized that her fellow moor runner was just as captivated by the sky as she was. "Beautiful day, isn't it? Doesn't it just make you wanna run and run?" She flexed her claws, her limbs tingling with restless energy.

Swiftpaw windclan camp | accompanied by Furzepaw & Adderslink The silver tabby carefully stepped around the other sleeping apprentices, trying not to tread on their tails. She bit back a frustrated sigh. Lazy furballs. Wasting the day away sleeping. Psht. She narrowed her eyes against the bright sunlight, yawning and arching her back in a stretch. She glanced over her shoulder, but no other apprentices had stirred yet. Well. That just means I get headstart. HA. She lifted her chin smugly and scanned the camp for her mentor. When she didn't spot them immediately, her blue-grey eyes landed on Furzepaw.
"What's up, Furzeball?" she mewed, trotting over to join him. She wrinkled her nose at her own bad joke. She was quite proud of herself for that one; she had yet to come up with stupid nicknames for the other apprentices. She paused, looking furtively from side to side, then leaned in and gave his shoulder a bump. "Wanna race to the Tallrock and back? I bet I could beat you."
She froze as a shadow fell across the two apprentices. She scowled up at Adderslink, who was eyeing Furzepaw with mischief sparkling in his eyes. "Orrr we could go hunt for a freakish bird, I guess," she muttered. Furzepaw was two moons older than her - surely he wouldn't really believe his mentor's tales about this - this snipe thing. Maybe it is real, a part of her whispered. She harrumphed to herself, refusing to let her curiosity show.

•Runningfire• •-Roseshine-• •-|-Windclan Camp-|-[highprince ]-•Runningfire’s yellow eyes flashed with amusement, as the younger warrior apologized. Her remembered what it was like in the first few moons of being a new warrior. Roseshine was just freshly made a Warrior, not that long ago. He, himself, was still a pretty young cat, compared to some of the warriors that he was around.
With a gentle and encouraging nod, Runningfire let out a soft purr. “No one could possibly sleep, with all that racket going on. Figured we might as well get up.” Moving slightly away from her, he continued. “I was thinking about getting a bite to eat..And then maybe trying to go out and get some hunting in, before it gets overly hot.”
He paused for a moment, shuffling his paws. He hoped the young warrior wouldn’t find him creepy. Only friendly. “Would you like to join me.?”

The small elderly she-cat gave a frightful jerk, as Olivepaw presses into her side, asking her a question. Her ears flattened slightly for a moment, before pricking back up. She gave a gentle, yet raspy purr at the apprentice. “Good Morning, Olivepaw. You scared the ever living dust out of me.”
Her light blue eyes starting to light up with amusement, she gave him a little muzzle on the cheek. “I was just saying how I’d give my own tail to have some rain. This drought and heat..Is just dreadful. You would have thought that Starclan has cursed us all to the Darkforest.” Pausing for a moment, her head swiveled back to the sky, tilting slightly. She let out a long sigh. “There isn’t even a cloud in sight, Olivepaw.”
Giving herself a soft shake, to clear her head. She became less serious. “You know what I could use.? A nice plump, Hare. That sounds wonderful. And some water. I’m parched.” Cloudgazer gave her lips a lick as she spoke.

Tealraven Doveheart cheerfully looked down at the cream-colored molly, glad they shared the same opinion on these early mornings. "It is! I wonder what we'll find on the moor today." She looked over in Teaselstar's direction, appearing to ruminate, her green eyes flickering with optimism. "Especially with a new leader. Something grand and wonderful is on the horizon! Perhaps I'll add something to my collection of trinkets today." Doveheart had never been one for running, but she loved the open air and the freedom of being a moor runner- as opposed to those musty, claustrophobic tunnels below. "I don't know why my dad wanted to be a tunneler. Nobody can even see him down there, it's so dark! I am so glad we are moor runners. Always something new on the surface..." She looked down at the ground- almost as if the tunnels she spoke of were right there in front of her feet.

mottledspringaccompanied by merlincatcher | camp, fresh kill pile Mottledspring glanced at the fresh kill pile, only to turn her nose up in disgust. She refused to eat in the mornings, even more so with the drought going on. It wasn't exactly like there was anything... appealing on the pile anyways. Maybe organizing a hunting patrol for the deputy-less clan would be a smart move. With Teaselstar sleeping off his journey, it didn't seem like that bad of an idea.
Someone had to take charge of patrols and the thin she-cat was sure the senior moor runners could figure that out on their own. As for the tunnelers, well, that was their problem. She kept quiet as Merlincatcher filled her in on the arrival of Teaselstar and Rabbitfoot, only to be a tad disappointed by no news of a new deputy.
"Guess there's not much to look forward too then," the tortoiseshell replied before letting out a defeated sigh. She came to a sudden pause, remembering her suggestion that had come to mind not too long ago. Her gold eyes lit up abruptly while her tail rested at her paws, twitching back and forth.
"Wait! Since we have no deputy and Teaselstar's busy sleeping off his journey, why don't we get a patrol or two going? Badgersong could tag along!" the senior moor runner proposed, bouncing on her paws. Even if Merlincatcher planned on telling her no, she would head out anyways. Maybe she could bring Cherrypaw along too. "And Cherrypaw! I can bring her along too. Does that sound like a plan, Merlincatcher?" image source - tumblr | little blu ♥

Gooseleap extended his long limbs in a satisfying stretch as he left the den. His brother had been missing when he’d awoken, but his absence only robbed him of the dismissive sneer he would’ve gotten if he’d been around. While he’d initially been jealous of his brother’s respectable position in the clan, he was relieved to have a break from his ill-tempered kin. He felt a twinge of sympathy for the apprentice that had been assigned to the tom, but, best he could tell, the responsibility was doing his brother well. The lanky grey tom cast a bored look to the sky above, blinking his tired looking eyes as he proceeded towards the fresh-kill pile. He gave pause when he noticed another cat already taking her pickings, but proceeded upon recognizing the only vaguely familiar queen. He wasn’t one for conversation, but he figured Softheather wasn’t looking for a lengthy early morning chat either. “Unfortunate time to leave the tunnel’s shade, how are you adjusting?” He asked as he approached, his voice carrying the same heavy and disinterested tone as usual. Despite the more prominent changes in the queen’s life style, the tom was actually asking the past-tunneler how she was handling the intense amount of daylight she was suddenly dealing with. His brother had become rather clumsy above ground now that he spent all his time in darkness, so he figured that was common issue for cats who spent most their time in the ground. He rolled over a rather skinny looking rodent, gazing down at it blankly as he waited for the queen to reply so he could mutter his farewell and part ways.

Fleetfoot with Morelspots WindClan Camp Fleetfoot followed after Morelspots, thinking about where they might be able to find prey. "Let's head over near the gorge," he suggested, flicking his tail in Morelspots' direction, "unless you're scared, of course." Fleetfoot's lack of critical thinking hadn't been any different when he had been an apprentice - he'd gone exploring the gorge without any warrior in sight, just to prove that he could without getting hurt. He was suggesting they go to the gorge now in memory of one of said times as an apprentice, when he was Fleetpaw and Morelspots - she had been Morelpaw back then, it felt like so long ago. She was nearly a warrior, but he still challenged her to go explore the gorge with him, teasing her about being scared just as he did now. It seemed that his moons hadn't made him any wiser.
Roseshine with Runningfire WindClan Camp "You're right, though I suppose peace and quiet is a little too much to expect," Roseshine sighed. She didn't blame Dizzyfeather for being so excited - the coming of a new leader was bound to be thrilling. Roseshine herself was excited, though she wasn't exactly expressing it. She smiled at Runningfire's offer. "That'd be nice. I'm sure the clan would appreciate more on the fresh-kill pile," she said, looking towards it. They were suffering from the drought as well. She didn't mind Runningfire's offer at all - it made her feel more like a warrior, being accepted by the more experienced ones.

Hornetpaw with Open Windclan Camp - Hornetpaw had watched as the camp awoke, a bored expression on his face. He'd made no move to get up and greet his new leader or Rabbitfoot when they had returned from the Moonstone, merely yawning and watching with heavy amber eyes. The tom didn't much care for the politics of clanlife--what difference did it make to him who his leader was? Hornetpaw could hunt and fight for himself above all else and that's all that really mattered to him.
Observing the patrols forming and apprentices joining up with their mentors, the ginger tabby rolled onto his side heavily, sending up a cloud of sand. He wasn't incredibly keen on starting his day already and he wasn't going to expedite it by hunting down his mentor or bouncing around the warrior's paws begging to be strung along on patrol. No, Hornetpaw was content to do is own things, and, if he had his way, do it from a distance.

Nighthawk | WindClan Camp | mintedstar/fur🦇Nighthawk sat in the shadows, watching their clan go by. There were a lot of cats already up and doing things. They watched as apprentices walked by, warriors with them. That had been them, not so long ago, they were barely a warrior, and still getting used to their new suffix, which they happened to quite like. They stretched. Then they stood up and begin to walk the perimeter of camp, watching the cats with more of a stranger’s gaze than one of a clan cat. It wasn’t that they didn’t feel like they belonged. It was that there were more cats in the clan than they could get to know personally, which made them feel wary, and on edge. They looked up. Their feet had carried them to the nursery, which was, to their knowledge, currently empty. They peered inside, curiosity getting the better of them, then moved to continue, when a pelt nearby caught their eye. “Hello, Mintface.” They said quietly, joining the other cat. They didn’t know them too well, but maybe this was a good place to start getting to know some cats better. “Are you well?”

Hawkeyes Camp Open
Hawkeyes takes notice that a few of his clanmates were heading out. He figured they were getting an early start on the day. He debated on asking to join them but decided against it. As usual, he would wait to see if he would be assigned to any patrols. Hawkeyes flicked his tail lazily and tries not to give into the temptation to lay down and go back to sleep. He briefly glances up at the sky as a lone bird flies overhead.

Furzepaw Adderslink & Swiftpaw
Hearing pawsteps near him, Furzepaw spun around on his paws. His amber eyes brightening at the sight of Swiftpaw and he greeted the fellow apprentice with a soft purr. He rolled his eyes at her nickname, "Very punny, nice work," he praised her before giving a laugh. Furzeball wasn't that bad, hopefully none of the apprentices caught on with that. He shifted on his paw and was about to open his mouth to agree to a race when he noticed Adderslink had managed to sneak up on the two.
"Adderslink," Furzepaw greeted simply with a swish of his tail and friendly gleam in his eyes. He titled his head, listening to his mentor's tale about a beast. He wrinkled his nose, "What kind of bird has six legs?" he meowed with visual confusion in his eyes, looking towards Swiftpaw. "I guess we could try to find one," Furzepaw meowed with hesitation. It seemed like something straight from Adderslink's imagination but if it make his mentor happy, he could play along.

Dartpaw wouldn't consider herself a 'good apprentice'.
There was Wildpaw, always making nice to the leader and deputy. Furzepaw always kept with his training sessions. Swiftpaw was always so motivated to so many cool things. Hornetpaw was always up on time. From what Dartpaw had seen, they all did their best in training, and tried their best to be good apprentices so they'd be made warriors sooner rather than later.
And then there was her, ambushing her sister literal minutes after she woke up.
Dartpaw wriggled forwards, keeping her body low to the ground. Hunting practice had been good for that, at least. She could see the still-sleeping form of Hoppaw not far away, the gentle rising and falling of her chest revealing her weakness. Dartpaw took a tiny step closer. Another. One more...
Then she leaped, paws outstretched, barreling into her sister with gentle ease. "Gotcha!" she purred, nipping at Hoppaw's ears. "You're my prisoner now, and I'm gonna make you stay in the den ALL DAY. Dad will be sooooo disappointed in you. Your mentor will be angry. And then you'll be the one who has to assist the elders instead of me!" Dartpaw chuckled, holding firm in her position pinning her sister to the ground as a smirk crossed her face. "My master plan is flawless! Nothing can stop me now!"

pipitdashaccompanied by Gorsepaw | campAs sociable as she was, Pipitdash was just as energetic. She couldn't help but bound across camp like a giddy apprentice on their first day of training. She had seen Furzepaw with Adderslink and Swiftpaw, so she knew Gorsepaw, Furzepaw's brother, had to be somewhere around here. The tunneler's eyes scoured the camp for her apprentice, hoping that she would come across him.
It didn't take her long to find Gorsepaw's nest, thankfully. The pale tabby sprinted across camp where the apprentices usually slept together. She had already begun panting a bit, though she shook out her short pelt before taking a deep breath and licking her chest quickly. Hopefully her apprentice wouldn't notice that she had already spent some of her energy on searching for him when it wasn't urgent.
"Gorsepaw! Where are you?" she called for the tom, raising her voice louder than usual. "The tunnels aren't gonna wait for us!" image source - pexels | Blaze ♡ (you can ignore this if you want, Blaze)
