Hawkeyes turns away and takes a moment to take in their surroundings. He could see Highstones in the distance and the mountains stretching high into the sky. He always wondered what lay beyond their borders. Growing up, he heard tales and legends but had no idea if those tales were true or not. Hawkeyes couldn't imagine living in the mountains though. He preferred the flat moorland.

Robinpaw's ears twitched and she watched the warrior, even as she was trying - as stealthily as possibly - to catch her breath. She was wondering what he was thinking about. What was going on in his head as he looked off into the distance. Once she was sure she could talk with a reasonable amount of breathlessness in her voice, she said, "Where to know?" He'd been going somewhere, right? That had been the whole point of coming out here. Where were they going to though? She would have rather liked to have an idea before he started running again. Couldn't moor runners do anything at a steady pace?

Hawkeyes snapped out his thoughts forgetting that Robinpaw had tagged along with him. "Mmm now we try and do a little bit of hunting." He figured they could hunt for a bit since that was one of the reasons he came out here. Hawkeyes scents the air and smells old and new rabbit scents. Hopefully, they didn't scare any away from their run. "That is if your not to tired."

"Of course I'm not," Robinpaw insisted, fur fluffing up a bit. "I can hunt." She thought she could at any rate. At least she was pretty sure that for the time being she could track down a rabbit trail and see if it led anywhere. She opened her mouth, scenting the air, much like Hawkeyes had done. Then she glanced sideways at him. "Any particular direction you wanted to go?" There were fresher scents just ahead, as far as she could tell, but again she was going to let the warrior take the lead. It seemed like it would be wiser that way.

"We will go straight ahead for now." Hawkeyes mewed as he starts walking forward. He would keep his eyes and ears open in case the twoleg's dog happened to be lurking about. He spotted some half eaten grass no doubt a rabbit had been munching on them not to long ago. As they got closer, Hawkeyes slows his pace and starts crouching down.

Robinpaw didn't notice the chewed grass, but she did notice Hawkeyes' crouching down. She mimicked the motion as well, lowering herself into a crouch as well. Her ears angled forward, listening to what was around them, but she wasn't sure where the rabbit might be that she thought that Hawkeyes might have located. "What?" she breathed, eyes scanning the moor while her mouth was open, scenting the air. She was used to chasing rabbits among tunnels, but she was bound and determined to show what she could do regardless.

"I smell two nearby." Hawkeyes whispered flicking the tip of his tail. He moves a little closer and pauses seeing two rabbits hopping around and nibbling on the grass. He thought about the best way to do this. "Try and take the one on the left." Hawkeyes whispered deciding to go on the right. Hawkeyes would try and move in carefully and pounce if not chase it down.

There was a firm nod from Robinpaw, who glanced once again at the warrior before slowly stalking forward. She kept her body close to the ground, her posture pretty good for moving toward the rabbit that had been indicated. Tail tip flicking, she lightly moved across the moor until she was in a better position upwind of the rabbit. Then the tip of her ear flicked and she briefly drew her attention to Hawkeyes. If he moved out of time with her, then one of them risked losing their rabbit. So she waited for a signal.

(Sorry I didn't reply for a long time)
Once he was in position, Hawkeyes gave his tail a flick and launched himself at the rabbit. He managed to surprise the rabbit and tackle the creature to the ground. They wrestled for bit, but before he could get a good grip, the rabbit slips out and races off. Without thinking, Hawkeyes dashes after the rabbit.

Robinpaw too raised after the rabbit, more by instinct than by any sort of hope that it would work. She was no Moor Runner. Her legs churned at the grass and dirt and gained no momentum. Not like Hawkeyes, at any rate. But even though she trailed and trailed by a lot, her breath coming in ragged gasps and her limbs aching, she still raised along, moving through the wind with a strong attempt at speed, if nothing else. Whether that would harm or help this hunt remained to be seen. Hawkeyes258

Hawkeyes keeps his eye on the rabbit determined to catch it. He pushes himself to run a little faster and uses his paw to trip the rabbit. When the rabbit started to tumble, he lunges forward, pins the rabbit down on his neck until the rabbit stopped moving. He takes a moment to catch his breath and settles back to look at Robinpaw. mintedstar/fur🦇

Robinpaw skidded to a halt, breathing hard ... and then drops to the ground, still gasping as if each breath would be her last. Her mouth tastes metallic and there are multiple stitches in her side. But she does still try to say something, as if gasping like a beached wale is at all dignified, "Nice ... catch." Hawkeyes258

Hawkeyes looks over at her and chuckles a little. "Thanks." He decides to wait a while for Robinpaw to to catch her breath. He hadn't expected Robinpaw to keep up with him. "You handled yourself pretty well. Do you want to carry the rabbit when we return to camp?"

Truthfully, Robinpaw didn't have the faintest clue if she had the strength to carry the piece of prey all the way back to camp. It seemed like too much even for her after all that running. But she didn't want to tell Hawkeyes that. Once again, her pride was getting in the way of actually doing what she needed and instead focused completely on what she wanted. "Of course! I can do it." She made no move to get up just yet though. Still gasping, even if she'd puffed up a bit at the compliment.

Hawkeyes could tell that Robinpaw was still out of breathe and decided to rest a little while longer. He could be strict and push onward but he wasn't that cruel. Hawkeyes remembered his mentor making him do laps in order to build up his endurance and how tired he had been at the end of it. He glances up watching a few birds fly overhead and fly in the direction of Fourtrees.

It seemed like Robinpaw would take a break, particularly since it didn't interfere with her pride. It was a joy just to let her lungs rest, still taking in air to keep up with her racing her. It wasn't until she'd caught her breath a bit better, quite a while later, that she said, with a twitch of her tail, "Tired, Moor Runner?" Her tone was playfully teasing. But it was also apparently a promoting that she was done and didn't need to wait anymore.

"Only a little bit." Hawkeyes mewed flicking his tail. "However, we ought to head back before the rabbit gets cold." He rises to his paws and starts walking back towards camp. "Plus, your mentor might be looking for you" He didn't really want a tunneler to blame him for something else.

"Alright," said Robinpaw, though she sounded a bit like she didn't really want to run. Even still, this was exactly the situation she was going to be facing, so she steeled herself. It was a couple of long breaths before she said, "After you then, Hawkeyes." She wanted him to set the pace so she had something to match. Otherwise he might see just how slowly she wanted to run. Maybe the rabbit would slow him down, actually.

Hi guys!
I am not sure who has checked the discord recently. We are re-vamping! How exciting!
Let us (me or Kin) know if you are interested in staying with Windclan and what characters you are keeping.

(I'll be sticking around and keeping my cats!)
Hawkeyes gives her a look but doesn't say anything. He begins to walk at a steady pace and thinks about what he plans on doing later. When they returned, a border patrol or two might be on it's way out. He still had some energy and didn't want to sit around camp doing nothing. Perhaps, he could help reinforce the camp or keep watch. Who knows what might be prowling around in the gorse!

(I’ll be keeping my three characters. 😌 I’m not sure if I made any changes to mine. But I do know they are the same name and description. May have tweaked the ages and family. I reposted the forms.)

Sounds great guys! <3
I am not exactly sure yet, but since Kin hasn't been feeling well lately and in the long run, they would prefer me to run the page. Windclan will most likely have a new thread.
I am not going to be around for the next week due to a mini-vacation that my family goes on but I'll try to keep y'all updated on what is going to happen to this thread. Once I know for sure, everything will be updated and all of the new characters will be added.

Part of her felt almost offended. The rest of her was just relieved. She trekked after Hawkeyes, her steps firm by shear force of will, even though she had to keep constantly moving otherwise the shaking in each limb would become more obvious. "W-what are you going to do when we get back to camp?" she asked, curiosity briefly coloring her voice.

Hawkeyes glances at Robinpaw before looking ahead and shrugging his shoulders. "I don't know yet. I still have some energy left so I'll probably hop on a patrol or take up guard duty. I like to keep my paws busy while they still have some energy." He said in a joking way.

How did he still have energy? Hoooow? Were all runners running on some power mice or something? Robinpaw had no idea what to think about this. She just found herself completely befuddled by the tom's continued use of just about every possible thing he could do today in a sentence. She just wanted to sleep. At least she thought that the camp coming soon-ish. She wanted it to be the camp coming soonish.
