So I just heard from a friend that she was fired. Apparently she was a TERF? Anyone know/hear about this?
In case anyone didn't know, she was the main one who worked on Survivors and Bravelands

The only way I heard about is because I'm subbed to Tennelle on YouTube, and she made a few posts about it (Twitter and Tumblr is blocked and I couldn't get on a different laptop atm.) Ngl, I was really confused as to who she was for a moment.

Not to mention when I heard about it, I saw no peep about it in the Survivors or Bravelands sub-boards at the very least. There's also the fact those subforums are practically dead compared to this board, so posting it here will give more attention to the issue. |

This is the first time I'm hearing of it. When did this happen? Today? I haven't really payed her much attention beforehand. I sometimes looked on her FB when Survivors was still coming out, but that's it.

Wishful dumbness on my part but maybe now they can find a new Erin interested in picking Survivors back up since Gillian didn’t seem to want to ;~;

Also I really don't think she's a bad person. I think mob mentality has a huge effect on things like this. Even if what she did was bad (tbh I don't know entirely, just that people were claiming she was transphobic), doesn't mean she's bad or she deserves the boot. Everyone has some sort of bad or controversial opinion, but that doesn't make them inherently bad. I personally don't have an opinion on what she did yet so I'm going to have to watch the video, but I wish the mob mentality people have about people who say controversial things would stop. I mean, my bf is homophobic but I wouldn't get enraged with him over it. He's still a good person at heart and has been raised to be like that. He would give everyone the shirt off his back any day. Yes, being transphobic is wrong, but I don't think she's truly an evil person. Acceptance often takes education. |

She was indeed transphobic and anyone who is willing to doxx minors and expose them openly on public accounts in an attempt to send people after them are automatically bad people. We're not saying she's evil, we're saying she's BAD. The internet is a terrible place to have personal information out in the open, she knew this, and yet exposed a literal minor's email (Thankfully a throwaway, but imagine if it had been their real one) because they did not agree with her shitty views. Those are teens or children she's doxxing, hell even adults doxxing adults is bad because again, the internet's a scary place. Us going at her about doing such a thing is not "mob mentality". She treated her fans, a lot who are in the LGBT community and thus a fair share are trans, crappy because she wouldn't listen to them when they reasonably and non-maliciously called her out on her harmful views, people TRIED to educate but she never listened. She instead called those fans that confronted her and disagreed with her domestic abusers and fascists, literal minors, she called fricking minors domestic abusers. I don't think I need to say what's wrong with that. So I will repeat, people like her shouldn't be writing children's books if she's gonna talk shit and attempt to harm that demographic, so good riddance she's not writing for them anymore. I'm not even gonna go deep into the homophobia comment because that's personal but just saying there's a lot wrong with that logic of being "okay" with someone's homophobia just because the person is "good at heart". That's all I'm saying. |
