(Oh man, going to a castle sounds like so much fun!)
Roestar with Nightflower || Camp
"You can take Lightningstreak. I'm sure it would be nice to spend some time with your brother," Roestar said, looking around camp for the younger warrior. She looked for the dark pelt of her own brother as well - she might listen to her own words and see if he wanted to accompany her on a brief hunt. Roestar looked back to Nightflower, thinking about her bringing Beetlepaw with her. While it would be good for him to get experience, she was worried about the possibility of injuries while they were both gone. "Are you sure it's a good idea to leave the clan without a medicine cat? You may encounter rogues on your way, and I don't know what our clan would do if we had to handle the loss of both of you." Roestar's tone betrayed how she usually acted - she was still unsure about her leadership position, and she didn't quite know the best way to handle things yet.

Russetpaw with Frostrose || Heading to camp
Russetpaw bounded after his mentor, glad to be able to stretch his legs. He wasn't as quick as she was, and started to lag behind her. He was determined not to lose, so he powered through the discomfort in his legs and put in some more speed, so he was once again catching up to Frostrose. However, as his feet were flying under him and he wasn't paying attention, he completely missed a tree root sticking up out of the ground. One of his paws snagged on it and he yelped as his legs were taken out from under him. Russetpaw felt as if he hung in the air for a moment before he crashed to the ground, scraping his shoulder on the ground.
Thrushflight with Swiftfox and Dawnchill || Camp
Thrushflight grinned when Swiftfox agreed to come along. There was a chance that Dawnchill would stick them with a boring senior warrior, but she could at least deal with that if she had someone that wasn't such a stickler along with her. "Oh, don't worry. We're just loyal, helpful warriors that want to assist our clan any way we can." Thrushflight winked as she turned around, seeing Dawnchill towards the center of camp.
The gray molly padded over towards her, dipping her head respectfully to the deputy. "Hey, Dawnchill!" She called, with all her usual Thrushflight enthusiasm. "Could me and Swiftfox tag onto the border patrol? Y'know, to make sure there aren't any dirty rogues on our territory or anything."

Moosekit with Larchkit and Mosskit || Camp
Moosekit beamed at his big brother. He knew that Mosskit would know which prey mom liked best, and now he wanted Moosekit to help him bring it to her! "We can bring the bestest vole," Moosekit said, nodding enthusiastically. He began to paw at a vole - the one that was clearly the best vole in the whole territory - not wanting to disturb it at all so that it would be perfect when they brought it back to mom. After all, it would be terrible to bring her a vole that she didn't like.

( Moosekit, Larchkit & Mosskit are honestly so cute omg )
Stormchaser | In Camp with Snowheart // β₯ππ―π¬π°π±βπ¬π°π’β₯ Stormchaser hesitated at the molly's offer, then decided it would be rude to refuse her. He dipped his head politely and finished off the squirrel, swiping his tongue around his jaws. He felt a warm, light weight on his paw and glanced down. She had reached out and touched him again, and he still wasn't sure how he felt about that. He had distanced himself from his Clanmates so thoroughly since everything had happened that physical contact with another cat had become unfamiliar to him. Yet he found himself appreciating the gesture.
They sat in a comfortable silence for a short time, and then Snowheart spoke up about wanting to go hunting again. That struck him as odd. The smokey grey tom tilted his head at her. "Why can't you?" Maybe she no longer felt safe outside the camp. It probably wouldn't be a good idea for cats to go out wandering by themselves; even he wasn't comfortable with that idea. "We could even go out hunting together, if you like," he said, then added hastily before she could misunderstand, "maybe with another Clanmate. Help things feel normal again." Internally, he cringed. StarClan, I didn't mean it like that. I hope I didn't offend her.
Lynx | Spruce Forest with Bird // little blu β₯ Lynx unsheathed and sheathed her claws, working them through the grass. Her limbs fizzed with excited energy. She nodded affirmatively at Bird. "Excellent! Let's not waste any time, then." She turned abruptly and set off at a brisk pace through the trees, the loud rushing of the waterfall gradually fading. She glanced over her shoulder periodically to make sure Bird was still there, flashing her a giddy smile.
As they walked, woodland sounds stirred to life all around them. Birdsong lilted through the air as sparrows and robins flitted from branch to branch. "It's like the whole forest is waking up," Lynx said wonderingly, pausing beside a massive spruce tree. She chewed her lip and frowned in trepidation. "The Clan lives in a spruce forest, right?"
She turned to face Bird as the other rogue approached. Truth was, Lynx hadn't been living with the rogues for long, so she didn't quite know the lay of the land yet. She also didn't know why the rogues seemed to stay away from the Clan cats. Maybe the Clan was hostile towards outsiders? Lynx felt a thrill of danger race up her spine, worrisome and exciting at the same time. "Do you know where we are, Bird?"

(Aren't they just!! ^^ If anything happened to the kits I'd literally cry π Tealraven If you want I can send you some of the pictures tomorrow <3 ) Mosskit || with Moosekit & Larchkit || camp At hearing Larchkit's little mew of agreement, and literally feeling Moosekit's excitement radiating from him, Mosskit nodded and reached down to grab the vole between his teeth. He tried to straighten up but, faultering slightly, decided it would probably be best to wait for Moosekit to help him out. After a second of his brother just staring at him with wide, happy eyes, Mosskit mumbled through the fur in his mouth ," hold onto its leg there Moosekit, I can't carry it by myself." Together, the two young toms half dragged, half carried the vole across the clearing and dropped it infront of Brightberry. Mosskit had nearly caused the both of them to fall over by stepping on his own paw, so he breathed a sigh of relief when they made it over safely. He turned to face Brightberry and exclaimed happily " We brought you a vole! Your favourite food!". Falcon || with Breeze and Hail || Rouge camp The Tom could feel his fur begin to bristle as Hail responded sarcastically. Getting rougly to his paws, and with his hunger momentarilly forgotten, Falcon padded slowly across the clearing and fixed his dark orange eyes onto the thinner tom. " Getting all smart now, are we?" he asked icily, his tail lashing out behind him as he walked and his eyes glinting with anger. Stopping just out of reach of the two cats, Falcon looked down at the silver tom. " Well," he began quietly "I hope you'll excuse your dear Overlord if he's a little on edge." the tom continued, his voice tinged with bitterness. " You see, he's recently lost a fair few of his closest friends to a bunch of foxdung-eating fools! And! to add to that! He currently doesn't know where any of the actual surviving cats are!" he spit out furiously, his ears lying flat on his head and his long claws unsheathed. The tom finished coldly, " But I'm sure you already know all of that, seeing as you're obviously such a smart guy." Falcon turned away and stalked back to the other side of the clearing, calling out as he went, " If you find Lynx and Bird out there, make sure they come back with some more prey - we're running low." Goldenstripe || with Lilac || Great pine Goldenstripe hesitated briefly as the stranger turned to face her. She could see the fear in the she-cat's eyes, and it didn't seem like the type of fear that any of the rouge cats would have - especially if they had purposly come here. The warrior's hesitation seemed to be enough for the smaller cat, who took the oppurtunity to explain herself. "I am not one of those rogues. I am just a lone cat. I didn't mean to alarm you. I wouldn't want anything to do with that filth. They don't even live like cats." Goldenstripe could see the hatred gleaming in the she-cat's eyes. Hatred for the rouges, or hatred for us? She thought to herself as she stood facing the other cat, ready to give her a beating she wouldn't forget. In the few seconds she had taken to process what the stranger had said (during which time Goldenstripe had continued to eye her with great suspicion), the other she-cat had managed to calm down slightly, and asked her almost curiously, "You're one of those clan cats, aren't you?" Goldenstripe was taken aback, why is she asking me that? she thought to herself, if she were a rouge she should already know.. this must be some sort of trick. Her eyes flashed around the clearing before focusing on the stranger again. She had said she was alone, but could she be trusted? The warrior shook her head, " What are you doing on Pineclan territory?!" she hissed, refusing to answer any of the she-cat's questions.

(All good you two, I just wanted to reply to everything before I head to bed C: take your time x )
Mothpaw || with Thrushflight, Swiftfox, and Dawnchill || Camp Sitting at one side of the clearing, the ginger and white she-cat had been watching the kits struggling with a vole for a few minutes. She had debated whether or not to help them out, but by the time she had resolved to get up, they had managed to find their stride - or at least, as much of a stride as two kits carrying a vole twice their size can find. Her eyes wandered lazily over the rest of the camp, and her gaze rested on the gaps in the camp walls which still hadn't been fully repaired since the rouge attack. She made a note to volunteer to reinforce the walls a bit later.. preferably when Roestar was around to overhear. Glancing over in the direction of the crossed pines, she noticed Dawnchill talking with Thrushflight and Swiftfox. She's probably organising the patrols she thought to herself, her paws already beginning to itch, maybe she'll let me go on one...Giving her shining pelt a quick lick, Mothpaw got to her paws and trotted over to where her mentor and the two young warriors were sitting. Slowing down as she approached, she bowed her head respectfully before stopping a few tail-lengths away - just as she had seen Nightflower doing earlier. Don't interrupt their conversation, she reminded herself as she waited, you don't want to come across as rude.

Nightflower with Roestar--{In camp}
Nightflower dipped her head respectfully at her leaders words. She didn't argue with her leader, as she wanted understood her concerns. She brushed her tail gently against her leaders shoulder, trying to offer her reassurance to her doubts. As she spoke, her voice betrayed her respect for her leader. "I think you are absolutely right. I'm not sure of how this journey will go, and I don't want anything to happen to Beetlepaw. I shall leave you in peace and go and look for Lightningstreak. We have quite a journey ahead of us." She stood, withdrawing herself from her leaders presence, her large amber eyes, searching anxiously for her brother. She knew he must be around here somewhere. She padded slowly towards the warriors den, stopping outside the entrance and calling out for him. "Lightningstreak.? Lightningstreak, are you in there.?"
{little blu β₯ }
Frostrose with Russetpaw--{Near Camp}The long-legged she-cat skidded to a halt as she heard her apprentice yelp and then tumble to the forest floor. She swiveled her head towards him, eyes wide, before racing to his side. Her ice-blue eyes grew wide with concern, and she nudged him gently, voice full of worry. "Russetpaw, Are you alright.? That was quite the tumble." Her ears pricked up and swiveled behind her, listening to any danger, as she checked on the young cat. She hoped that he wasn't terribly injured, not knowing how she would explain that to his mother. "Did you strain anything.? Or are you just a little scraped up." She quickly chattered on, fur on her shoulders lifting. "I shouldn't have had us racing through here. Its full of roots and stuff. What if you had broken something.?"Heart racing, the she-cat lapped aggressively at his shoulder. She couldn't help but be protective of her apprentice. He was one of the cats she'd bonded with, in her becoming his mentor. She'd never forgive herself if something happened to him.
{highprince }
Snowheart with Stormchaser--{In camp}
The black she-cat felt her fur on her shoulders start to rise up as she grew uncomfortable at the suggestion of hunting. She didn't know if she could trust Stormchaser yet, with the fact that she was bearing kits. Especially with how kind he was being. She forced her fur flat, and looked away, ears flattening to her head. She forced herself to think of something to say to the tom. Before finding herself rushing out an excuse to not go hunting. "I...I don't believe anyone would want to come hunting with you, if I came along. I'm not exactly a favorite right now. Most of the clan doesn't want to go out on patrols with me. Not at the moment." She shuffled her paws, aware that she was lying to Stormchaser about why she wouldn't go out. As much as she'd love to go out and hunting, she couldn't get over how queasy she had felt lately. Letting out a sight, she turned her head to look at the grey tom next to her. She couldn't help but feel like he'd take it as her not wanting to be around him too much. Before he could answer her, she spoke softly. "I'm sorry Stormchaser, me not going out..." She paused, slowly finding the right words. "I've been feeling a bit under the weather lately, and I've been worried of over- pushing myself. Of making myself feel worse. As much as I want to be out in the forest, I've been trying to take it easy." She couldn't help but let her deep blue eyes travel towards her slowly growing stomach, her eyes softening with love for her unborn kits. She felt the urge to confide in the warrior, feeling comfortable around him. He'd already listened to her, and spent his time, sharing prey with her. Could she trust him.? Could she burden the tom with her biggest secret, and him still want to be around her.?
(Tealraven }
Lilac with Goldenstripe--{Great Pine}
The light brown she-cat sat down on her haunches, lifting a small black paw up to give it a lick, before brushing it over her ears. She couldn't help but let out a purr of amusement at the she-cat's caution towards her. She let her dark green eyes observe the cream-colored she-cat as she cleaned her ears and face. Her black face twisted with slight laughter, as she spoke again. "Look, I'm no threat. I've been watching you and your clanmates. I've been curious about the ways of your clan. Curious about how it is, living with a group. Wondering how it is to have others to care for and to care about you."
She paused, returning her paw to the forest floor, next to her other one, before dipping her head respectfully to the other she-cat. She spoke more gently, trying to reassure her at the same time. "I can see you are worried that I am not alone. This is no trick. There is no other cat here, besides me. Like I said. I am a lone cat. I have wondered by myself for some time now."
She tilted her small head to the side, ever so slightly, curiosity sparking her gaze. She couldn't help but feel some sympathy for this clan cat. Was the entire clan this jumpy about newcomers.? She let her curiosity get the best of her, as she spoke bravely. "Are you that worried about those filthy excuses of cats.? I've seen the way they live. They can't have frightened you that badly." She was unaware of how big the drift between the two groups were.

Speckledflame[Open for interaction--{In Camp}
Speckledflame sat near the camp enterance, hunched over in an awkward position. She small white she-cat brushed her fur up against the chilly breeze she felt. She couldn't help but feel achy as the weather got colder. She older she-cat sighed miserable. She was not the first to admit that she was slowing down, coming of an age where she could retire. Her body definitely found ways to tell her that she wasn't a young warrior anymore, She shivered slightly, giving her flank a quick grooming, the orange specks that dappled her pelt, becoming brighter. Her orange eyes, flashed with misery, as she thought of her mate, who had been killed in the battle with the rogues. Part of her hesitated in leaving the warriors den, because she didn't want to take that step, without her mate by her side. She had always thought, they would join the elders den, together. The grief she felt at losing him, was still as strong as the day that she buried him. He'd been such an amazing warrior to his clan, and an even greater mate, to her. Why had Starclan so cruelly taken Jaggedclaw from her.? Giving her head a quick shake, trying to get rid of her awful thoughts, the small she-cat let her gaze travel around her camp. She wondered if there was anyone around that wanted to go on a patrol. Anything to keep herself busy.
Amberblaze[Open for interaction]--{In Elder's Den}
Amberblaze lay, curled as tightly as she could, in a big ball. The scrawny elder was nothing but a bulge of orange fur, her head buried under her tail. The old she-cat was wide awake, but didn't want to move from where she lay. Being the only elder, Amberblaze found the leaf-fall/leaf-bare season, quite chilly, even in the shelter of her den. For once, the orange she-cat, was warm, all bundled up in her own fur. She kept her amber eyes closed, knowing that she could hardly see as it was. Each and every day, she felt her eye-sight, get a little bit worse. As well as the throbbing ache, she constantly felt in her hips. Feeling and hearing her stomach start to rumble with hunger, the old cat groaned inwardly. She slowly opened her foggy eyes, and lifted her graying head, before letting her jaws stretch in a huge yawn, showing her rows of teeth. She couldn't help but wonder when an apprentice would come along to bring her food and help groom her pelt.
Snake[Open for interactions]--{Sitting outside the rogue camp}
The dark brown pelt of Snake perched quietly outside of his camp, his long white legs stretching out beneath him. The muscular tom crouched, bringing a squirrel closer to him with one of his black paws. He took a quick bite of the squirrel, before lifting his head, ears swiveling around to listen around him. He let his one good light green eye, score his surroundings. He was always watching, suspicious of those around him. He had no trust that his group was safe, always expecting the clan cats to come after them for their revenge. The tom narrowed his eye slightly, before dipping his head and taking another bite. He tail twitched behind him, as he enjoyed his kill, while observing his surroundings. He knew after he had his fill, he would need to go out and gather up more fresh-kill for the cats in the group.

(oof, these took a while)
Brightberry // in the clearing // with Timberheart and kits
As she leaned into Timberheart, Brightberry heard him grow silent, and she knew that he was thinking of the battle. She remembered how he'd been full of regret - how he still was - for having to kill one of the rogues, but they both knew that he was only protecting his Clan. Protecting their kits. Brightberry wished she could do more to help him put the past behind him, but at the same time, the battle still haunted her own dreams every night. Even as Timberheart spoke again, she knew that he had been right before - they were only kits. They should enjoy kithood while they can, she thought, somewhat reluctantly. "Maybe... maybe battle practice can wait until tomorrow," she decided. "They've worked hard the past couple days." Brightberry turned to look up at Timberheart. "And perhaps, if someone is willing to watch the kits..." she started. Someone I trust, a small part of her mind whispered. "...I suppose we can go out to hunt later, just you and me." She twined her tail around Timberheart's, realizing that she hadn't left the camp in moons, maybe even since before the kits were born. The thought of stretching her legs and running through the forest was incredibly enticing. A purr rumbled in Brightberry's throat as she watched Mosskit and Moosekit struggle to carry a fat vole over from the fresh-kill pile and lay it at her paws. "Oh, this looks wonderful!" she mewed, giving each kit a swift lick on the ears. As she licked Mosskit, Brightberry thought of how the older kit was always helpful with taking care of Moosekit and Larchkit. Even if he wasn't her kit by blood, Brightberry certainly loved him like he was. A wave of sadness suddenly washed over her as she thought of the fourth kit who could have been joining his brothers and sister in their antics, Bumblekit. Everyday she missed him, and wondered how life might have been different with him in it. Brightberry was broken out of her thoughts with a small stab of panic as she heard Larchkit sneeze again. The little kit seemed perfectly healthy otherwise, but it still worried her. If the sneezes got any worse, she decided, she would take Larchkit to Nightflower and have her looked at. It could be nothing, Brightberry told herself, but somehow, she didn't quite believe it.

Breeze // rogue camp // with Hail
Breeze's tail bristled as her brother replied to Falcon, and she felt a small spark of anger at him for being so careless. Are you trying to get yourself in trouble? she wanted to yell at him, but she was careful to betray nothing to either cat. Breeze quickly forced her fur to lie flat again, lifting her chin to look Falcon in the eye. She could see the anger raging behind his orange gaze, could read every emotion in his stance and bristling fur. He was too predictable - which made him not as formidable as he seemed, at least to Breeze. Without dozens of cats to back up his words with teeth and claws, the leader of the rogues was nothing. As Falcon turned away, Breeze spoke in a steady voice just loud enough for him to hear: "Of course, Falcon. You can always count on us. After all, where would you be without our loyalty?" Before he could say anymore, she motioned for Hail to follow her out of camp, heading toward the waterfall.
Shadowfur // in the clearing // with Wildpaw and Elkpaw
The bright morning sunlight woke Shadowfur from a deep sleep. He blinked his eyes, looking around the warrior's den at the mostly empty nests. As usual, the dark warrior was late waking up after a long night of hunting by moonlight. He glanced through the small gaps in the den to the fresh-kill pile, where a squirrel and two warblers lay as evidence of his efforts. Shadowfur stood up and stretched before ambling out into the clearing, his eyes taking a moment to adjust to the sunshine. Although it was chilly, there were few clouds in the sky, leaving the sun to warm the camp as it rose above the trees. A good day for battle practice, Shadowfur thought, heading to the apprentice's den.
He poked his head inside, seeking out Wildpaw's calico fur. "Wildpaw," he called softly, not wanting to startle her awake. "Time to get up. We'll head out for battle practice shortly, but first, take some fresh-kill to the elder's den." As he waited on his apprentice, Shadowfur looked around the den, catching sight of Elkpaw, who was already awake. "Hey, there!" he mewed, feeling the small spark of happiness that jolted through him every time he saw his son. "What do you say you and I go night-hunting tonight, son? I've been meaning to show you a new stalking technique I figured out for hunting birds."

D a w n c h i l l in camp || with Thrushflight & Mothpaw β£ The deputy paused her train of thought when Thrushflight greeted her and proposed that she and Swiftfox join the border patrol. She had just been trying to figure out which cats to send on said patrol and was a bit relieved to have two volunteers. Nodding, she peered around her, flicking her tail thoughtfully.
"Take Speckledflame and Stormchaser with you," she ordered, briefly wondering if a patrol of four cats was too small. No, it would have to be fine. She'd see if Timberheart would take Elkpaw and maybe join Frostrose and Russetpaw on a hunting patrol. She'd try and scrap together another patrol and lead it herself. They needed food after all, especially with the approaching leaf-bare.
Her attention was pulled to her own apprentice as she approached and sat off to the side. Pride swelled in her chest for how well behaved Mothpaw was. "You can come sit beside me, Mothpaw," she offered, offering an attempt at a friendly smile.
B i r d spruce forest || with Lynx β£ The mottled molly padded after Lynx, eager to explore an area she'd never dared to before. At least this time she had another feline on her side, to back her up in case she ran into serious trouble. That's always what had halted her paws in the past. Letting her green eyes fall across the spruce around her, Bird felt she could really understand what the older rogue meant. The forest really was coming to life, in a way that a city cat like her never got tired of seeing.
Her pelt fluffed up against the cool breeze that ruffled her fur. "I'm pretty sure... Falcon always warns us not to come this way, so it would make sense," Bird nodded, peering around as she came to a stop beside Lynx. The other molly's slightly unsure tone tempered her excitement and she felt her own nerves spark up.
"Not exactly but I know we have to be in clan territory by now... Do you think Falcon's stories are true? That these cats are bloodthirsty and cruel?" she questioned, finding she was curious to the answer now that they could be in very real danger.
L a r c h k i t in camp || with Moosekit, Mosskit, Brightberry, & Timberheart β£ Larchkit trailed after her brothers, content not to be the center of attention but just to be in their presence. She purred as her brothers were praised for their efforts, casting a shy smile at Brightberry. That smile on her mother's face was worth all the sadness and confusion she had felt while trying to remember which prey the older molly preferred.
"Moosekit and Mosskit carried the vole over here, they're really strong," she mewed quietly, a happy chirp to her tone. The brown patched kitten scampered to sit between her father's forepaws, pressing her face against one of his legs. She relaxed in Timberheart's shadow, trying to ignore the dull need to sneeze again. Her nose was annoying!
H a i l rogue camp || with Falcon & Breeze β£ Hail wasn't at all intimidated by Falcon stalking over with anger in his orange eyes, instead he scoffed at his leader's bluster, tilting his chin in blatant defiance. Faking a hurt expression the tom lifted a paw, placing it on his chest dramatically. "Falcon, you wound me. I've always been smart. It's not my fault you've never noticed," he replied sarcastically, a lazy grin stretching upon his muzzle.
"He also talks about himself in third person - that's new. News flash, Falcon, we've all lost friends to those so called 'fox-dung eating fools'. You aren't the only one hurting. Your loyal followers are probably out mourning their losses or trying to scrounge together some trash to eat," Hail snapped back, starting off with snark but ending up with a bit of true anger in his tone. The tom would certainly get no sympathy from the silver tabby. They'd all suffered and just because Falcon had trusted the wrong molly and she went crawling back to her clan, didn't mean he got to take out his bad attitude on them.
"As ever, your obedient servant will go off and do your bidding," the normally laid-back tom sassed, turning his back on his leader to trot after his sister. Breeze had gotten a bit fiery with Falcon as well and Hail was a bit impressed. The silvery tom limped behind her, his head held high, not the least bit sorry about anything that had just transpired.
L i g h t n i n g s t r i k e in camp || with Nightflower β£ The tom had woken up a little bit ago but was enjoying the quiet inside the warrior's den. The majority of his den mates were awake or in a deep sleep, which meant that the den was still and basically silent. This let him have time to get lost in his own head. At least for a few moments before his sister poked her head in and began calling for him. Lightningstrike opened his dark amber eyes, spotting the familiar calico pelt of his litter mate at the entrance to the warrior's den.
Not wanting her to wake up any of the others, the tom forced himself to his paws, nudging past Nightflower and into the open air of the clearing. His black and white pelt immediately fluffed up against the cold. His grumpy scowl was nothing personal against his kin but kind of a natural mask he wore. "What is it?" he mumbled, shaking himself as he cast a cursory glance around at their surroundings.
W i l d p a w in camp || with Shadowfur & Amberblaze β£ Dreaming of chasing squirrels through the pines had Wildpaw shifting in her nest, paws churning. The oldest apprentice was shorter than even some of her younger den mates and that always irked her and even in her sleep, the squirrels could easily outrun her. Her mentor's voice brought her out of the dream and her mainly white head lifted from her nest blearily, taking in her surroundings.
Shadowfur had mentioned battle training and feeding the elders. Rolling to her paws, the molly gave her fur a single shake unsurprised when loose pieces of moss fell off of her. She didn't bother wasting time trying to smooth down her fur - knowing it would have been completely useless. "Sounds good, Shadowfur. I'll meet you at the entrance after I finish up with Amberblaze," she replied, her voice still heavy with sleep.
She left the toms to their father-son moment, trotting towards the fresh-kill pile. She searched for a plump piece of prey and found a good sized thrush and lifted it up in her jaws. Though there were plenty of younger apprentices now, Wildpaw didn't mind taking on the task of caring for the elderly she-cat. The dilute calico molly padded into the den, waving her tail in greeting, though she wasn't sure if Amberblaze would be able to see it or not.
"Good morning, Amberblaze! I brought you a thrush this morning, we're lucky someone was doing some hunting this morning, huh?" she greeted cheerily after dropping the prey before the elder. She smiled and sat nest to the older she-cat, curling her tail over her paws.
E l k p a w in camp || with Shadowfur β£ The tom startled a bit as his father called into the den, having been lost in his thoughts. He cast a brief smile at Wildpaw, watching as the older apprentice made quick work or waking and slipping from the den. Elkpaw got to his paws rushing over to touch noses with Shadowfur, relieved to see him standing there. It almost embarrassed the apprentice how reliant he could be on his father still but he was the only parent he had.
"Really? I'd love that. I might have to show Russetpaw later," he admitted with a grin, thinking of his younger cousin. The red and white scarred tom who he'd failed to protect. That reminder caused a familiar guilt to settle in his chest and there were nights he still had terrible nightmares about that day.
He had tried so hard to protect Volekit, Salmonkit, and Russetpaw. He'd failed all three of them for even Russetpaw had taken injury that day. All he had were some superficial scars on his face. He'd never be able to look Roestar in the eye... sometimes he couldn't even bear to look at his cousin for fear that one day the small red tom's bubble of happiness would pop and he'd blame him too for the death of his siblings.
