Batwing with Brackishclaw, Leafriver, Turtlepaw, and Pondfrost || Camp
Batwing was surprised to see Turtlepaw lash out at Pondfrost, and for Pondfrost to respond so calmly in comparison. He had been an apprentice not long ago, and he knew that kind of attitude would've gotten a good tongue-lashing from one of his mentors - most likely his mother herself.
He was half-tempted to go see what was taking Glassyfern and Seapaw so long when he felt hot breath on his muzzle and heard Brackishclaw's voice right in his face. He attempted to keep a cool expression, though his heart thundered inside his chest. He didn't like confronting his clanmates, but he knew he needed to stand his ground - he was a full medicine cat now. "I didn't know we had a deaf warrior," he commented sarcastically, trying to keep his nervousness contained to his chest and out of his voice. "I merely said that once you get yourself injured - because really, you would - you can use those muskrats you caught to help you out." Batwing smiled at Brackishclaw before continuing, "Or you could keep trying to pick a fight with me. I'm sure beating up a blind medicine cat would reflect fantastically on you, don't you think?"
Batwing forced himself not to back away from Brackishclaw, he knew that would be seen as giving up. He forced the anxieties in his stomach to silence, he knew there was no way that the warrior would attack him. Not unless he wants to be exiled, Batwing thought, though this train of thought brought words from his mouth against his better judgement, "Unless you do want to join Swallowdive."

Turtlepaw with " " || Camp
Turtlepaw let her fur lie flat, happy with that response. Pondfrost may try to punish her later, but in the moment she didn't care. She was about to suggest to Brackishclaw that they find Glassyfern and get going, when she saw them all up in Batwing's face. Oh, StarClan, she thought, wondering why he'd chosen to argue with one of the cats in charge of saving his life. Even more surprising, Batwing snapped back at him, and Turtlepaw winced when he brought up Brackishclaw's brother. Tensions in the clan must be higher than she had thought, if this was happening.
Virgil with Tangledthrush and Fadedecho || Water's curve
Virgil listened closely to what Tangledthrush said, a look of vague confusion on his face. He didn't understand how there could be a whole group of cats all living together without being family or getting at each other's throats. Following Tangledtrush's gesture, he noticed Fadedecho's head sticking out slightly for the first time, and his eyes widened in surprise. To think, there had been a cat watching them and he hadn't even noticed. Had other cats been watching him without his knowledge? "O-oh, hello, Fadedecho."
His surprise only grew as Tangledthrush offered him a place in the group. His pelt grew hot with embarrassment - he could hardly catch a fish, why would she want him? What if it was all some big joke made to mess with him? He shook the thoughts from his head. She had only been nice to him, she had no reason to suddenly start being cruel. "Thank you, Tangledthrush," he murmured, looking down at his paws. "Is....is that why your names are so...odd? Will I have to take an odd name, too?"

Pondfrost - w/ Brackishclaw, Turtlpaw, Batwing, Leafriver - willowflower, highprincePondfrost tried her best to hide her surprise at Batwing's brutal jab, but her fur still bristled a bit. The topic couldn't have been comfortable, with how recent the civil war and the usurpers' exile was, and she doubted bringing it up was going to improve anybody's mood. And yet, despite herself, she felt a small bud of bitter satisfaction that she struggled to trample down. It wasn't befitting of her to be resentful, after all. Needle and Rope - w/ Jacques - willowflowerThe entire walk, Needle's tail lashed with annoyance at Jacques' non-stop chatter. Rope happily indulged the tom, using his ears and tail to communicate nonverbally as the two walked side by side, looking far more cheerful than Needle felt. Weren't they supposed to be hunting? How was anybody going to catch anything with those two chattering like starlings? And, of course, Rope was far more excited about the twoleg tree. As soon as Jacques jumped up, showing it was safe, Rope leaped up after him, his powerful hindquarters making it easier for him to reach up to where Jacques was, his ears pricked curiously as he sniffed around. Needle, however, planted his paws firmly on the ground. "No, thanks. I'll be staying right here." He huffed.

M o c k i n g b i r d in camp || with Cypresstail ➣ The queen took a great amount of comfort in her father's affection, reassuring herself silently that he was still here. There had been a while when she'd first started out as an apprentice where Mockingbird distanced himself from her father and siblings, as the weight of Sunbreak's death lay heavily on her shoulders. That guilt had never quite disappeared but after Shinepaw's death, she had forced herself to reunite with her remaining family. They'd already lost so much. Her lavender spots glowed faintly in the dim lighting as she allowed herself to relax and she felt a wave of fresh relief. At least her clan mates had been leaving Cypresstail alone with his thoughts after Marshstar's death. The last thing her father needed was more pressure on his shoulders about this leadership situation. Something needed to be done of course, but in a civilized manner. "G-Good. I d-don't ha-ve to claw anyone's ears o-off," Mockingbird purred and licked her father's cheek gently. She would do it too, anything to defend her only remaining kin. Snorting, the bemused she-cat shook her head and cast a wry glance towards the entrance. "C-cats will al-always talk, Papa. It's in-inevitable," she replied, leaning her head against his shoulder lightly. F a d e d e c h o in camp || with Virgil & Tangledthrush ➣ Fadedecho had no doubt his sister meant her words either, she wasn't exactly one to ask for permission once she set her mind on something. Not that he had any complaints about bringing Virgil into their fold, logically it was a good move for them. Another set of paws is just what they needed. He waited patiently to be introduced, his tail tip flicking in anticipation. When those light green eyes flickered over to him, the pale furred tom lifted himself out of the pickleweed and stepped forward. He dipped his head in greeting, silently hoping he didn't appear as exhausted as he felt. 'Tell him I say hello and welcome, Tangledthrush. I don't want to come off as rude,' he pressed his sister, throwing her a pointed glance. Fadedecho had his almost permanent smile across his maw but there was a hint of sarcasm there. If only because he was a bit irritable in his sleep deprevation. He meant neither of the felines before him ill will, in fact, he found Virgil oddly fascinating.

Brackishclaw || in camp with Batwing, Turtlepaw, and Pondfrost
A snarl dragged up the corner of Brackishclaw’s maw at Batwing’s words. The only thing stopping him from flattening the medicine cat to the ground right there and then was Batwing’s remark on beating up a member of the clan’s most important figures markedly hurting his chances of becoming leader. (Well, that’s not true. Brackishclaw liked to think he also wasn’t a cat who threw strikes at cats who couldn’t see it coming.) And, truth be told, a tiny part of Brackishclaw was grudgingly impressed at how well Batwing was standing his ground and maintaining his composure, despite the nervousness Brackishclaw could read, so close to Batwing’s face. It took a hell lot of guts to say all that while riled with nerves.
But then the blasted cat held the name of Brackishclaw’s brother in his mouth, and Brackishclaw stepped forward until there was no where else to go, until his forehead met Batwing’s, growling, tail lashing. Blind or not, Batwing was two tail shakes from going down. “You really wanna throw that in my face?” he hissed. “Don’t you even dare insinuate that I could ever betray my clan like he did.” His eyes darted to where Leafriver stood metaphorically sweating. “It’s not like your little medicine cat community was perfectly loyal either.”
Leafriver || in camp with Batwing, Turtlepaw, and Pondfrost
Leafriver was quietly panicking, turning their head from one cat to another, silently imploring for someone to step between the two cats. They quickly stepped up to Batwing’s side, clearing their throat and lightly putting their tail on his shoulder in a silent plead to take a step back and let it go. Then Brackishclaw’s snide remark about Treebitten froze their insides. A flash of their sister’s dark sneer, a lash of the tail, mouth full of herbs as she turned her back on Leafriver, darted through their mind, and their legs shook.
Tangledthrush || at Water’s Curve with Virgil and Fadedecho
Tangledthrush watched with some amusement as Virgil met Fadedecho with surprise. “He greets you with a hello and welcome,” she said warmly. Her whiskers twitched at Virgil’s inquiry about their names - she never thought about it before in the midst of a clan filled with such naming conventions, but the question suddenly put said convention into a sudden new perspective. “In a way,” she said, giving Fadedecho a glance. “It is... was a tradition. But,” she continued with a smile, “We’ve been doing away with traditions anyway, so I’m sure staying ‘Virgil’ will be just fine.”
She picked up her trout and looked at Virgil expectantly. “You don’t have to decide right away. But, even if you’re just entertaining the idea…” Tangledthrush waved her tail as she turned towards the direction of their make-shift camp. “You’re free to follow us.”
Jacques || at Twoleg Towers with Needle and Rope
Jacques looked at Needle thoughtfully, carefully cradling the strange vine in his claws. “You sure there, bud?” he mewed with a smile, twisting the vine to show Needle its secret - exposed wires, twitching with blue, contained lightning. “I wanted it to be a surprise,” he continued, turning it over to face the shallow waters below. “But allow me to tell you of the magic of this Twoleg creation. The moment this thing drops into the water -“ He let out a hiss to mimic the sound. “Anything unlucky enough to be within its range gets its poor little heart stopped.” Jacques tilted his head, an almost playful look scrawled across his darkened expression. “It really is incredible. The salt in the water only magnifies this thing’s power. Who knows how far its lightning can even go.” His eyes met Needle’s. “Still feeling like staying right there?”
((jacques: let's go "hunting" :333 watch me research electricity and electric wires in water only to throw my hands in the air and call it creative liberty))
Cypresstail || in elder’s den with Mockingbird
Cypresstail chuckled low in his chest, quietly warmed by Mockingbird’s protective declaration. He was reaching the age and temperament that held him back from getting any cat off his tail, so having his daughter on his side lifted a weight off his chest. He let out a heavy sigh, looking out at the entrance as well. “I suppose I should step outside today,” he said, trying to keep the reluctance from his voice. I should have stepped forth the moment Tangledthrush left us with Marshstar’s still body. “The cats need a leader.” Still, it didn’t have to be now, he thought as he took comfort in Mockingbird’s presence, taking the moment to carefully groom the top of her head and ears. “Did the medicine cats mention how long until…?”

Pondfrost - w/ Brackishclaw, Batwing, Turtlepaw - willowflower, highprince“For the love of... can you all get a grip on yourselves?” Pondfrost snapped. “One day without Marshstar and you all start looking for a fight. I don’t see how this is behavior becoming of a leader! Maybe Cypresstail should be in charge. At least he can hold his tongue.” She hated losing her temper, since it usually meant others getting upset with her, but she had already been left frazzled by the fighting and frustrated with Turtlepaw. It was a tall order for her to stay quiet now. Needle and Rope - w/ Jacques - willowflowerNeedle bristled, shooting a glance at Rope. Surely the tom was bluffing? Rope, however, was utterly fascinated with Jacques’ claim, eyes wide as he gave a small murmur of “twoleg lightning”. Needle huffed, scrambling up quickly to stand by them and shooting a glare at Rope. As usual, his twoleg obsession had gotten them involved with such a blatantly shady character. “Get on with it, then.” She sighed, as she finally reached the pair, a bit out of breath from her rapid climb.

((rope is precious and needs to be protected from jacques the shady tom
also how do y’all feel about prophecies :3))
Jacques || at Twoleg Towers with Needle and Rope
Jacques beamed, clearly delighted to have gotten his way. Then he released the vine into the shallow water below.
The moment the exposed end hit the ground, there was a loud, sharp crackle as threads of lightning snarled through the pickleweed. The bloom of electricity sent one or two small creatures hiding in the fronds jerking up into the air. And Jacques watched with a pleasant smile, remembering the first time he first saw such a magnificent sight. Scared out of his fur he was, hah! The tendrils of lightning were nearly blinding.
After several seconds of this, Jacques hauled up the vine, cutting off the flow of Twoleg lightning. The sea of pickleweed calmed at once. He looped it around a silver branch almost carelessly, before turning to face the other two. “Now all we have to do is pick up our prey!” he said cheerily. “Whatever’s still twitching will be too stunned to run away.” He hopped down from his perch, searching for signs of awe on each of their faces.

( I want Seapaw to jump in but I'm waiting for his mentor to reply to him. c: )
F a d e d e c h o at Water's Curve || with Tangledthrush & Virgil ➣ The faded feline dipped his head to Virgil again, to show he meant his greeting. He wasn't usually seen as the most friendly cat because of his inability to really communicate, which of course made it harder to grow closer to others in order for him to be able to project to them without risking a terrible headache. Fadedecho's smile widened, if a bit unnervingly, at his sisters admission to throwing away tradition. Quickly, he turned, unwilling to startle the potential newbie. His grin was unintentional and most cats found it unsettling. Sighing silently, the exiled warrior paced a few steps in the direction of their makeshift camp. 'Hopefully he decides to join us. The more the merrier,' Fadedecho thought to Tangledthrush, thinking of their small prey pile. Any help would be welcome at this point.
M o c k i n g b i r d in camp || with Cypresstail ➣ Mockingbird watched her father sigh and glance at the entrance thoughtfully, probably trying to decide what to do with the situation he had been pushed into. She didn't envy Cypresstail the pressure he was suddenly thrust under after the loss of Marshstar. To be honest, she believed that her father should be able to enjoy his retirement, even if that meant that he didn't become leader. Not that it was her decision to make and with her father being the most senior cat in the clan, tradition stated that he must step up. Whatever her father decided to do, the golden and white she-cat would make sure to support him no matter what. "May-be you sh-should, Papa. A little fresh a-air will d-do you some g-good, if nothing else," Mockingbird purred softly, casting her own glance at the entrance to the elders den. If nothing else, Cypresstail could join her for some breakfast, once her stomach had settled that is. Her attention was brought back to her father at his next statement and she nodded in agreement. "Of co-urse we do. An-and if that's tr-truly the path you want to t-take, P-Pa-pa, then StarClan will g-guide your paws," her voice may have stumbled, because she wasn't using her ability but it was full of assurance as well. The molly closed her eyes in bliss, ducking her head to let her elderly father gently wash her ears. A soft but steady purr rumbled in her throat as she gently groomed Cypresstail's shoulder fur in return. Moments like this were what Mockingbird lived for. Family was such a vital part of her that every loss had left a gaping whole in her chest. She was determined to treasure these moments with her last remaining parent. "O-Oh, about a m-moon or so they th-think. Could be so-sooner, the litt-le ones kick all the t-time now, keeping m-me from g-get-ting much sl-sleep," the queen replied easily, letting her tail rest fondly on her round stomach.

(ropes brain begins and ends with twolegs also ye prophecies are cool, as long as theyre flexible enough to not railroad the rp) Needle and Rope - w/ Jacques - willowflower Needle had bristled and nearly jumped out of his fur at the crackle, claws scraping at the twoleg tree, but Rope was utterly transfixed by the sight, tail swishing curiously. Did twolegs hunt with lightning, like Jacques now did? He was deeply impressed with the clever tom. He hadn’t known anything about twolegs using lightning for things. and now Jacques was using a twoleg object to make his life easier! “Not bad.” Even Needle had to begrudgingly admit that he was fairly impressed. It certainly would have taken guts to climb the twoleg tree and handle the black vine without knowing what it was. “A bit overkill, though... you ever worried you’re gonna come here someday and another cat will use it as a weapon against you?”

Cypresstail || in elder’s den with Mockingbird
Cypresstail hummed in response. “I’m excited to meet them,” he purred. There was something soothing to the fact that he wasn’t alone, that he wasn’t the last of his family, that his lineage would continue on into the future. He could already picture Mockingbird’s kits’ First Moons, their first Battle Games, their first venture outside of camp. Of course, nothing went so smooth out here, but it was nice to dream.
He ducked his head to speak to the little ones kicking inside Mockingbird’s belly. “Now, young ones,” he said softly, “make sure not to kick too much. Your mother needs plenty of rest to stay strong and give you plenty of milk when the time comes.” It was rare for the old tom to speak so much at once, but he had a soft spot for his kin, even more so for those who could not quite hear him yet.
He felt reassured as well; if he does talk on the role of leader, the knowledge he’d have his daughter at his side was a comfort. “Perhaps I will go out after all,” he mused, lifting himself to his paws. There was the usual tired ache in his bones, but he could walk well enough. “Shall we?”

Jacques || at Twoleg Towers with Needle and Rope
Jacques beamed brightly at their reactions, clearly pleased with himself. “Nope,” he said, honestly. He waved his tail towards himself, posing a little. “Come on now, I’m too pretty to kill,” he purred.
He bounded over to where he’d seen a frog twitch into the air, poking at the still body in the pickleweed, and scooping it up. “Come on!” Jacques mewed, mouth full of frog. “Nab something, we can eat over on solid ground.” His eyes sparkled with mischief. “I have a little something to talk to you about.”

Needle and Rpe - w/ Jacques - willowflowerThe pair clambered down from the twoleg tree, and Needle at least conceded that Jacques was unlikely to attack them now, and so she willingly removed her gaze from him to poke around at the prey, before snapping up two newts by the tail, slinking over to a patch of firm, dry ground with the fresh-kil dangling from her jaws. Rope, who’s appetite had always been bigger than Needle’s, carried over a large fried muskrat and a blackened salamander, looking pleased as he flopped down next to Needle to tuck in. “Alright, spill. Clearly, you’re trying to impress us. Is there something you need?” The tom’s words about needing to talk made Needle sure that he wanted something from them, and she wondered what. After all, he seemed quite self-sufficient. She wasn’t sure what she and Rope could do for him that he couldn’t do for himself. Rope himself appeared unbothered as he ate, but his own ears were pricked with interest.

Batwing with Brackishclaw, Turtlepaw, Pondfrost, Leafriver, and Glassyfern || Camp
"At least those of us that are loyal are consistent about it, Brackishclaw," Batwing retorted, saying the warrior's name as if it was a curse. You only stayed so you'd have a shot at becoming leader, didn't you? the medicine cat thought, though he swallowed the accusation, knowing that it was a grave one and would only set Brackishclaw off more. He was about to tell him to get out of his face, but someone came between them - Glassyfern, it seemed. He stepped away from them and stood close to Leafriver. "That seems to be what's happening, so long as no one else decides they want to fight about it," Batwing sighed, his legs beginning to shake now that the conflict had diminished.

Turtlepaw with " " || Camp
Turtlepaw watched the fight with wide eyes, surprised that fur hadn't started flying yet. She couldn't deny the fact that she was glad when Glassyfern put himself between the two toms and put them back on track. She noticed Batwing's shaking legs and couldn't help but feel a little satisfied that Brackishclaw had showed him who was boss. She got to her paws and looked up at Brackishclaw, hoping that hunting would help him cool down. "Come on, we should get going. We're wasting daylight," she said, holding her breath in anticipation that Brackishclaw would turn that aggression back on her.
Virgil with Tangledthrush and Fadedecho || Water's curve
Virgil relaxed, happy that he could keep his own name. He assumed that even being allowed to come with them was part of their changing traditions, it didn't seem that lone cats went around joining strange groups very often. He looked to Fadedecho and shivered - the golden tabby unnerved him, what with his strange grin and the fact that he didn't seem to speak for himself.
As the two turned away, Virgil padded after them, wondering where they would go. One of his ears twitched erratically, and he once again looked to Tangledthrush, trying to decide if it was his place to ask questions. Finally, he forced himself to speak, if only so that he could understand them better. "You said that you've been doing away with your traditions. Is.....is there any particular reason why? If it's alright to ask."

Leafriver || in camp with Batwing, Turtlepaw, Pondfrost, and Glassyfern
Leafriver shot Glassyfern a grateful look, shoulders relaxing as the tension defused. Pondfrost, Seapaw?”

Jacques || at Twoleg Trees with Needle and Rope
Jacques’ jovial manner flickered for a moment as something else a little more vulnerable passed over, before he quickly put up his usual smile. “Aw, you saw right past me,” he said lightly, settling down with his frog near the two, not quite digging in but rather prodding at the creature with his claw. “I’ll admit, I wanted to get on your good side, because I had something to ask you.”
Jacques flicked his tail westward. “The clan of cats over there recently had an upheaval. From what I understand, one of the main cats in charge has been kicked out.” He gestured towards where the sweet fennel grew, where he’d first noticed the haphazardly thrown together nests. “Turns out their leader’s now a permanent visitor of the starry pelt in the sky.” He shook his head solemnly. “Truly a tragedy. Those poor cats have nobody. They are in need of a… guiding paw.” Jacques opened his eyes again, and they glittered with a sly eagerness. “And I need some backup. How would you like to join a clan?”
((this dumb cat is just gonna,, waltz into camp and be like ‘guess wut the spirits of ur ancestors have visited me and want me to help u out lololol’))
Brackishclaw || in camp with Batwing, Turtlepaw, Pondfrost, and Glassyfern
Brackishclaw was left stewing as Glassyfern completely derailed whatever conversation he was having with Batwing (which he was totally winning, he’d tell any cat), and slunk back, letting out a huff so that Batwing could hear his disdain. “I had no qualms about that,” he said, trying to flatten his fur. “It was my plan, after all.” He shot a bit of an annoyed glance at Pondfrost as well, as if she started it.
Turtlepaw’s meow brought him out of it, and he shook out his pelt and held his head up. “That’s right, Turtlepaw,” he said. “Let’s head out.” He then spun dramatically towards the clan entrance, waving his tail at Glassyfern. “You coming?”
Tangledthrush || at Water’s Curve with Virgil and Fadedecho
Indeed, Tangledthrush thought too Fadedecho. She tensed a little at Virgil’s question - the wound is still fresh, the day a little too soon. But she decided Virgil should have at least some form of an answer. “Well,” she began delicately, looking over at Fadedecho for support. “We - Fadedecho, I, and a few others you’ll meet - were once part of a larger clan. You might have scented their border over to the west.” She lifted her head up in stubborn pride. “I disagreed on some of the ways our old clan did things. So we went out separate ways.”
Tangledthrush looked over at Virgil, hoping he’d understand. “Here, we honor the individual. Our freedom to go and do what we please. We do not entrap cats in the traditions and superstitions of old lives long gone.” We at not at the whims of stubborn old fools, she thought, casting a tiny resentful glance at the sky, quickly clouding over. Living or dead.
The makeshift camp was quickly coming up. Tangledthrush could just barely spot Treebitten’s fur through the fennel, though that was only because she was looking for it. She wondered if the others were still sleeping.
“Here we are,” she said, dropping her trout with a nod. “A moment, please.” Tangledthrush padded up and, with a gentle call, “All cats old enough to catch their own prey…” she paused. “Meet outside, please. There’s someone I’d like you all to meet.”

She had already been dealing with a lot of stress from the recent fighting and mass exile, and now Turtlepaw was being a massive pain in the tail. Couldn’t the apprentice tell it was a bad time to be so rude to her elders? She pointedly returned Brackishclaw’s glance with a sharp glare of her own. Needle and Rope - w/ Jacques - willowflower “What’s in it for us?” Even as he said the words, he knew what the end result of this was going to be. Rope already looked excited at the possibility, and indeed his mind was racing over the possibilities that being part of a clan would open up. He shifted eagerly, and gave Needle an imploring look, seemingly begging for him to just swallow his pride and agree. But a clan? Aggressive, competitive, and no sense of personal space? Unfortunately, Needle doubted that, even with his strong bond with Rope, he could outdebate Jacques on the matter. And wherever Rope went, Needle scurried after, dedicated to keeping his companion out of trouble. “Alright, don’t answer that. A lot, probably. You’re shady, and probably aren’t planning anything nice, but whatever. If you start getting on my nerves, we’ll just duck out, so you better play nice.” He snapped. The least he could do was set the terms of their partnership. Swallowdive - w/ Virgil, Tamgledthrush, Fadedecho - willowflower , highprince , little blu ♥ The glossy tom had been snoozing on a tree branch- common for him, due to his ability to crawl up them risk-free, and he liked having space on a wide branch to settle down without being kicked in his sleep by his clanmates, He pricked his ears, waking up slowly at the sound of his leader’s call, and he stood and stretched, yawning wide. He shook himself fully awake and carefully walked back down the trunk, his body defying the pull of gravity. “Did one of our old clanmates finally wise up?” He questioned, though the way she phrased it, it seemed far more likely this was an outsider. Still, he sincerely hoped they hadn’t immediately jumped to recruiting rogues into the clan.

I hope this all ends soon... she thought tiredly. Glassyfern absentmindedly watched as the medicine cat group left, coming back down to earth when Brackishclaw spoke. "Hm? Oh, yes, of course!" She turned back to the others for a second, waving goodbye with her tail. "Stay safe y'all!" she called back to them, sprinting to catch up with Turtlepaw and Brackishclaw. "So, where are we going to be hunting?"

S e a p a w in camp || with Glassyfern, Batwing, Leafriver & Pondfrost ➣ The tom felt himself shrink down, trying to become as small as possible under his mentor's analysis. His nerves made him feel jittery, which in turn made his twitching worse. The white and green apprentice looked like he might need medical attention at this point and maybe normal cats would but this was just daily life for Seapaw. His body spasms were involuntary and constant, he'd had them since birth - possibly even before though his mother wasn't around to ask. The apprentice relaxed instantly when Glassyfern agreed to let him go on the patrol with the medicine cats. His paw was sore but the bleeding had already slowed and any chance of learning more about herbs was one Seapaw wasn't going to pass on. "Thank you," he whispered, a tiny smile stretching across his face before it was instantly wiped away when he saw the commotion. Flashing a pair of startled dark green eyes at his mentor, the tall feline gulped audibly and slunk after her, looking like a lamb being led to slaughter. Luckily their arrival seemed to end the conflict and the hunting patrol departed. He padded over to Pondfrost and the two healers, his pelt prickling with social anxiety. "Hi," he greeted quietly, ready to get moving.
M o c k i n g b i r d in camp || with Cypresstail ➣ A purr of delight escaped Mockingbird and her bi colored eyes softened like butter, smiling at her father brightly. "I'm ex-excited to m-meet them too! I can-can't wait to s-see what th-they look li-ke, to get to kn-now them, and es-especially to w-watch them gr-ow," Mockingbird gushed, unable to contain her excitement. Normally she was rather level-headed but her kits were such a new, thrilling aspect of her life. Not to mention, it meant she'd have more family to dote on. Her heart warmed at the thought. Especially when she imagined them starry eyed as they listened to their grandfather tell them all sorts of stories. She laughed at her father's scolding, licking Cypresstail's cheek affectionately in thanks. "Pl-ease listen to your gr-grandfa-ther, some r-rest would be l-lovely," her tone was playful though, hiding the tiredness she felt deep down inside. Mockingbird knew it would all be worth it in the end though, so she didn't really complain. It had been a while since she saw Leafriver or Batwing about her pregnancy and she might give them a visit later today. They might be able to give her suggestions to help with the restless nights and maybe even the morning sickness. Lifting herself to her paws, mindful of her heavy stomach, the white and golden queen walked slowly beside her father. Mockingbird waddled more than anything these days and she didn't mind the pace her father set. The molly may be young but she knew not to insult her father's pride by asking him if he needed help, she'd simply just be there if he needed her. "S-Sure!"
F a d e d e c h o in makeshift camp || with Tangledthrush, Virgil & Swallowdive ➣ Casting a glance back at the newest member of their little band, Fadedecho bristled a bit when the question was asked so bluntly. Of course, Virgil had no way of knowing he was asking such a sensitive topic and the faded tom quickly turned back around, not wanting to show how bothered he was. His haunted blue gaze flashed in the direction of clan territory, his claws flexing out of his claws. Being exiled was a harsh reality but he would have never let his sister be sent out on her own. If the clan wanted to stick in the past, they were free to. Upon reaching camp, Fadedecho moved to sit deep in the shadows, near the back, away from the others. He knew that his presence unsettled others, because of his stupid grin. 'They probably would have prefered if you had stayed in the clan,' he thought bitterly to himself.

Batwing with Pondfrost, Leafriver, and Seapaw || Camp
"Good morning, Seapaw," Batwing greeted, hearing the apprentice arrive, "glad you missed that little show." His tone was light, but there was still a bitterness to it, making it clear that he wasn't past Brackishclaw going off on him like that. Pondfrost said nearly the exact same thing and he didn't care then! Batwing thought, Maybe he's got an issue with me. He'd ask one of the other cats about that later - they all would probably know more than he did.
"We should get going before anyone else tries to start trouble - I'll let you know what we're looking for on the way," he told Seapaw. Talking to the apprentice made something click in his mind, and he quickly changed to addressing Leafriver, "Oh! What's our own apprentice meant to be doing?"

Turtlepaw with Brackishclaw and Glassyfern || Leaving camp
Turtlepaw followed Brackishclaw and Glassyfern happily, glad that she had been able to win the argument with Pondfrost. It wasn't exactly hard - she thought of her mentor as a massive pushover - but she was still proud. Maybe the other warriors would start seeing her as more grown up now that she was holding her own weight. When Glassyfern spoke, she thought for a moment. "We should go past the Twoleg Bridge. There's usually good prey there, isn't there?" She suggested, partially just wanting to show off her knowledge to the warriors.

Virgil with Swallowdive, Tangledthrush, and Fadedecho || Makeshift camp
Virgil nodded as Tangledthrush spoke - it all sounded reasonable enough, even if it flew a bit over his head. After all, he'd only been with himself most of his life, he couldn't understand conflict and tradition with a whole group of cats. Though he kept his mouth shut and his head lowered, sensing that he'd poked at a sore wound.
When they arrived, Virgil stayed close to Tangledthrush's side, looking around with wide eyes and trying to see much of anything. He couldn't really see any other cats, and he once again wondered if this was some kind of joke. When she called for some kind of meeting, Virgil froze - if there were other cats here, he didn't want to be put on display in front of all of them. Meeting Tangledthrush and Fadedecho had been intimidating enough. When someone unfamiliar spoke, Virgil spooked and moved even closer to the one he knew, nearly pressing himself against the molly like a frightened kit.

cool! hope this guy looks okay cx
Cloudwatcher || Nonbinary (he/they) || 28 Moons || Warrior Cloudwatcher is rather average in build - on the wiry side, but really nothing remarkable. He's nearly all jet black, with only cloudy white spots on his paws, tail tip, and muzzle. The prefix cloud- seems strange for them, but they used to be entirely white until the black began to cover their body. Their nose, paw pads, and inside of their ears are a venomous green, and glow in the dark. His eyes are entirely milky white, though he is still able to see out of them. || Cloudwatcher is generally quiet and non-confrontational, preferring to only engage with those he's close to. He purposefully avoids clanmates that are known to have tempers, not wanting to get himself caught up in drama. While generally reserved, they're blunt when they do express their opinions, not understanding why they would need to lie or sweeten things up. He has a firm belief in being honest and open, and is generally trustworthy. Because of his broken family, the thought of having his own scares him, though more than that, he's excited and ready to give his kits all he love he can. || Cloudwatcher was born to two clan cats - Featherfern, his mother, and Weedpelt, his father. He came from a very large litter, though two of his sisters - Mistkit and Ashkit - were stillborn, causing Featherfern to be distant with her living kits. Cloudwatcher was close to his two other siblings growing up, though Weedpelt never seemed to like him very much, acting on edge around his son. Featherfern and Weedpelt hardly spoke after their kits became apprentices. His sister, Asterpaw, stuck with Featherfern, while his brother, Beaverpaw, took Weedpelt's side. Cloudpaw was stuck in the middle, fitting in with neither side of his family. One day, Featherfern and Asterpaw went out hunting together and never returned, and they were assumed dead. Cloudwatcher's ability began to manifest shortly after his warrior ceremony, disgusting his father, and by extension, Beavertail. Eventually, Weedpelt's hatred for his son grew so strong that he left the clan altogether, unable to spend any more time around the one he blamed for tearing his family apart. While he reached out to Beavertail, his brother shunned him, until he eventually joined Tangledthrush and was exiled from the clan. His mate, Mockingbird, is the most important thing in the world to him. || For short amounts of time, Cloudwatcher is able to sustain himself off the fear of other cats instead of food. Every time he does this, the black in his pelt spreads farther. His ability absolutely horrifies him, and he avoids using it as much as he can. Over-using it can also lead to malnutrition, or in the worst case, personality changes that make them more aggressive. I know I shouldn't make more cats but I'm deciding if I want to play Beavertail or leave him up for claims. [[ highprince ]]

Puddlespots || male (he/him) || 25 moons || warrior An athletic, muscular tom Puddlespots prides himself on his fighting abilities as he trains very hard to keep himself in top condition. His fur is a bright white, broken up by shimmering silver patches that linger all over his pelt. Their placement changes by the day, as they appear like liquid, shifting and rippling across his fur until they pool in random places. He has two small horns between his ears that are a glowing silver. His eyes are a foggy gray, though he can see very clearly out of them. || Puddlespots is an extroverted tom, he loves to socialize and be in large groups. He has a secret fear of being alone. He's impulsive and often follows his instincts over logic, which can get him into some tricky situations. Hiding his anxieties is something he excels at, and the tom is constantly putting on a brave face for his clan mates. A bit over confident at times, Puddlespots is reluctant to admit defeat and even more hesitant to apologize. Backing down from a challenge isn't in his nature and he will always push himself above and beyond in order to prove himself. Loyal to his friends and family, he would give up nearly anything for them, especially his sister, who he's very protective over. Puddlespots may tease her and tug at her tail to annoy her but if others try it, he'll rip their ears off. Puddlespots had a fairly uneventful upbringing alongside his sister, Pondfrost. He isn't overly ambitious so he is content to merely watch the chaos unfold as the clan has their little power struggle. The tom has the unique ability to create a mirror version of himself, though if water of any form touches the copy it will disintegrate. Creating a copy of himself also takes a tone of stamina and he's usually pretty wiped after two attempts. His horns can predict the weather but only of the current day and if he's sick or tired it's not as accurate. He is in the closet but gets this weird fluttery feeling in his stomach around Brackishclaw, not that he'd ever admit it! (He's got a crush. Lol.) [[ little blu ♥ ]] Is it okay that I made Pondfrost a sibling, @nettles ?
Ivybloom || trans female (she/her) || 38 moons || medicine cat The molly is lean and willowy, built for running and leaping large distances. Her fur is a soft calico blend, with a base coat of white and a mixture of black and ginger spots. The normal patterning is joined by dark green spots, which upon further inspection are patches of moss. Her legs, tail, and neck are wrapped in vines, small leaves and flowers grow off of them. She has one vivid green eye in the center of her face. || Ivybloom is a grump. It's truly a rare thing to see the she-cat smile or laugh. She's stern and unafraid to boss around her clan mates when it comes to their health, showing her concern for them through her sarcastic comments. Ivybloom may not be sugar and spice, but the molly is a darn good medicine cat, who takes her job very seriously. A little tough-love goes a long way in her book. Self-assured but not arrogant, Ivybloom maintains a humbleness about her skills and talents, especially when complimented - which doesn't happen often. In another life she might have made a good leader, with her take charge attitude and sense of responsibility, but she was born to be a medicine cat - quite literally given her ability. Ivybloom is extremely clumsy due to her vines making it hard to walk, so she's always tripping over herself, falling into others or bushes. Beware the tongue-lashing you will receive if you make fun of these events or if you are sent to help her untangle herself. Her father was a clever medicine cat named Darkivy, after which she was named. He raised her alone, since her mother, Spottedmarsh was taken by the swamps shortly after Ivybloom was born. She was extremely close to her father before he passed away due to mysterious circumstances. Not even she was able to find the cause of death. One day Darkivy was alive and healthy and the next day he was deceased. It's driven her crazy and the loss of her best friend has made her push away most others with her snappy attitude. Ivybloom is secretly bitter because as a natural born calico male, she is infertile and can't have kits to continue her line. Ivybloom has the ability to grow certain herbs on her body via the vines that cover her legs, neck and tail. The drawback is certainly that it is extremely painful to extract any of these herbs, as it's a living part of her. Often her herbs are used as a last resort, seeing as she bleeds profusely and depending on how many are plucked, it can be an extreme danger to the she-cat's health. [[ little blu ♥ ]]
Pitchpaw || male (he/him) || 6 moons || apprentice This is a rather short tom, who can't seem to get rid of his kitten fluff. His pelt his long and mainly colored a dark russet. His paws, chest, stomach, tail-tip, and a single diamond on his forehead are an off white color, closer to ivory. Luminescent indigo rings circle his tail and he has a matching set of extremely thin lines across the bridge of his nose. He has deep blue eyes, lighter towards his pupil but gradually growing darker towards the edge of his iris. || Pitchpaw is clever and wisecracking, a true wild child. He has the spirit of a heathen and isn't afraid to show it. Any mischief to be had is probably being caused by this little tom. Charisma and charm ooze from him, especially when he brings out the pout or the big doe eyes. Aside from being an absolute menace, Pitchpaw genuinely has a big heart and is a dedicated friend. At the end of the day, he doesn't mean any harm and every prank and snarky comment is done in full jest. His mother, Tealdove, was quite the introverted thing. She kept to herself most of the time so it was a big shock when she ended up pregnant. No one knew who the father was and she refused to tell. Pitchpaw and his brother Echopaw were the only kits born from the litter. Tealdove unfortunately died during childbirth, leaving her kits to fend for themselves. They've had a pretty normal upbringing regardless. He's very close to Echopaw, the two are nearly inseparable. Pitchpaw has the ability to unhinge his jaw and scream at high pitches, which can stun prey. His jaw is incredibly sore afterword and his voice can get rough and scratchy. If he uses the ability enough in one day he can loose his voice altogether for a day or two. His biological father is Jacques and his litter mate is Echopaw, who is open to claim. He also has an unknown half-sister called Hadrian. [[ little blu ♥ ]] Is his father being Jacques okay? I couldn't resist the idea of the drama... xD willowflower Same goes for Hadie below ~
Hadrian "Hadie" || female (she/her) || 12 moons || loner Agile and lithe, Hadie is made for stealth. Her coat is mainly black, long and feathery, giving her a distinctly feminine appearance. She has a pair of tall ears which are tufted in a rusty red. Across her pelt are bengal-like spots that are white in the center and a dark red around the edges. Her eyes are an icy shade of green which turn pitch black when she uses her ability. || Hadie is a lonely soul who has never felt as though she belongs anywhere. She has fought hard for her survival and has a fiercely independent spirit as a result. Taking care of herself is all she's ever known so the molly hates to rely on others and often doesn't trust in the kindness of strangers. Touching others is a big no for her, Hadie will go to great lengths to avoid touching others for the soul reason of being afraid of her own ability. Seeing as she's taught herself about the world, there is a underlying naivety about the young feline. She is so curious about the world around her and can get fascinated by the most simple of things. Hadie was born to a molly named Asha, who lost her other kittens. Which was fine with the molly, she hadn't exactly wanted to become a mother in the first place. Asha quickly became afraid of her daughter, due to her ability, and she left little Hadie to drown in a small stream. By the will of whatever spirits watch over loners, the kit was spared by washing up on the shore. From that day on, she vowed to only rely on herself. Hadrian doesn't have a power, she has a curse. Her ability is fear itself and transferred through touch. Meaning if the she-cat touches others she will know their deepest fear - by being locked into a waking nightmare of her own design. Hadie can't escape these episodes, though they usually only last a few moments. The other cat will begin to feel extremely anxious and unnerved until they move at least a fox-length away from her, though it won't be clear why. This makes other cats not too eager to be around Hadie, as one can imagine. [[ little blu ♥ ]]
( It's late and I have a doctors appointment in the morning, so I'm going to have to finish Hadie tomorrow, hopefully that's okay! )
