imagine, if you will, a peaceful marsh. lush green succulents pepper the water's edge. insects buzz, clouds rumble ominously in the background, and you're just padding along, knee-deep in the shallow brackish water, looking for a snack. perhaps you see a frog jump. maybe you spot a tiny water snake slithering away. or, better yet, a tasty fish or two. you lean forward to dab your paw forward, testing the cold water, when the glasswort beside you all of a sudden coughs and windmills into the air, flying away with a fresh set of wings you didn't see before.
you look up and see a heron staring back at your with its eleven eyes, each one blinking slowly at you. it looks like a warning. you barely have time to respond before the pickleweed bed you stand upon folds in upon itself and gulps you up, dragging you down into the salty depths. your hunting partner sighs and gathers up the teeth the pickleweed was kind enough to spit back out.
welcome to the clan of the viridescents.
[[ p r e m i s e ]] The story of this clan surrounds a group of cats who have survived a strange catastrophe that they don't understand - all they know is that the air is dangerous, the twolegs are gone, and kits are born with strange features that only grow stranger. The dangers outside have only grown even more dangerous, and over the generations they've clung to the warrior code to survive this surreal new world.
essentially, this is a clan inspired by the concept of radioactive cats! this will be a more surreal roleplay, perhaps even a lucid nightmare, leaning heavily into strange imagery and stranger characters who've adapted to survive this new world. six legs, three eyes, green pelts, luminescent fur, glowing eyes - the joys of strange creations is here! indulge your creativity and delight in odd and fantastical cats! they're all strange here...
[[ h i s t o r y ]] The history of the clan dates back to the Great Catastrophe. Elders regale the young with stories passed down from generation to generation of the great cloud in the sky, about the disasters it brought, about the strange illnesses and births, and the strange monsters it wrought. Rain meant danger. Even the prey began to bite back. The clan had to migrate, searching for safety, until finally settling in their current home in the marshlands.
Recently, there has been dissent within the clan, specifically around the leader, Marshstar. She and her deputy Tangledthrush began butting heads over how to lead the clan, Marshstar leaning heavily towards safety, strict rules, and comfort for all while Tangledthrush argued for more freedom and individuals being able to serve themselves. This has caused a rift in the clan, breaking out into a civil war that ended in Marshstar’s death and Tangledthrush’s banishment. The cats on Marshstar’s side won, but at the cost of her final life; this loss turned the rest of the clan on Tangledthrush and forced her out of the clan.
There is a now a power vacuum in the clan, with cats uncertain who should take the mantle of leader. Should they continue with the tradition of putting an elder in charge? Or let an ambitious youngster take over? And how should they decide? Battle? Prophecy? Or democracy?
A rogue outside of the clan plots to use this to his advantage. Tangledthrush schemes with the few cats that followed her. And, of course, surrounding these power struggles are all the absurd threats that haunt the clan at every turn.

interested? here are some rules to follow:
OOC Remember to maintain respect for everyone out of character! Naturally, follow the forum guidelines, and speak kindly. Also, please use some form of brackets to indicate out-of-character speech. If you have an idea for a storyline don't be afraid to speak your mind!
IC In character, your character can be as rude or mean as you'd like! However, especially in battles, do make sure to let your scene partner land a few blows, provide openings for dodges and counterattacks, and only write for your own character's actions. Despite their curiosities, these cats are not all-powerful nor invulnerable - injuries and illnesses are a part of life, and make the story more interesting. Your character doesn't have to play fair, but make sure you yourself are! Also feel free to jump in anywhere! Throw up a starter, join any cat conversation, it's the quickest way to leap right into the action. Push for your cat to affect the story. Speaking of, it's less of a direct good vs evil, Starclan vs Dark Forest kind of deal, but more of an unfortunate division of ideologies: safety and community vs freedom and individuality. You may have your cat join the clan or the outsiders - but don't worry, you can always have them cross over to a different side.
ACTIVITY It's always more fun when people are active! Don't feel stressed when life takes over, but do send a little heads' up if you've found you've been or will be absent for a while. I know I'm looking to be active daily/every other day, so I'd say for the pace of this clan, aim for a response a couple times a week. If someone is absent with no response for, let's say two weeks, their character will be consumed by the marshes.
LITERACY I find the importance in literacy lies not in where you put your commas, but in the substance of your post - ie, does your response tells us something about your character? Does your response provide a distinct action (ie speech or movement) for a scene partner to respond to? Does your response give us some insight into what your character is feeling and thinking? If you're having trouble conjuring something for your post, keep these things in mind, and aim for at least three sentences. Please do keep in mind spelling and grammar in terms of clarity.
BUILDING CHARACTERS Here you may be familiar with rules asking for realistic fur colors. Throw all that out the window! Want a luminescent green pelt? Go for it! Want to inexplicably float whenever you feel extreme joy? Heck yeah! All I ask is to keep fur and eye colors similar within families, maintain a green theme somewhere in your character design, and if you want a strange, unearthly power for your cat, give it a limitation and a conflict for your character. Please build at least two characters, each of different genders. You may only have an apprentice, a queen, or a medicine cat every two cats you make. You may have as many cats as you'd like, but do keep them engaged within the clan. Feel free to come up with a fun and dramatic history for your cat, whether it be a forbidden lover, a father lost to the marshes, an abandoned kit found by the clan, or plans for world domination. When it comes to cat names, try to stick within what cats would find in a marshland. For example, "Brackishclaw" or "Oceanpelt" makes sense b/c brackish water, they're near the ocean, etc, but things like "Oakpaw" would be less likely since there aren't many oaks in the marsh (though, I did just discover that swamp white oaks exist lol, but still, keeping that in mind.) Also, please check to make sure the prefix and/or suffix is not already taken by another character.
FAMILY TREES Feel free to make familial bonds with other players! It's always a lot of fun to rp siblings and mates with other players right off the bat - mention in your form if you're open to familial bonds (parents, siblings, or otherwise), and if you want to be in another cat's family tag their player and ask! You may also have claimable characters if you'd like - you can fill out the first line of the form and note them as claimable by other players. You may also fill out forms for deceased cats.
INCLUSIVITY LGBTQ+ welcome! There are rainbow flags everywhere here!
[[ j o i n i n g ]] on board? join using the form below:

[[ t r a d i t i o n s ]] THE MOONGATHER every full moon the whole clan gather to share tongues, sing, and celebrate good fortunes that occurred over the past moon, such as the birth of new kits and new warriors, or mourn the poor fortune, such as new deaths or beast attacks.
SELECTING THE LEADER because of the deadliness of the air and the dangerous predators outside, cats reaching an old age is a rarity - so, those who do become elders are seen as blessed by starclan, worthy of leadership. the leader is the one who leads the ceremonies and make the final decisions for the clan.
MEDICINE CATS because of the rampant strange sickness, the clan has developed tight-knit group of medicine cats who also double as scientists and researchers who experiment and find new cures. medicine cats are permitted to have kits, but cannot treat their own. medicine cats are also the link to starclan, adventuring to the moonlake to speak to the their foretellers of good luck or doom. they tend to pass down the medicinal skills to their own, keeping the title of medicine cat within the family.
BATTLE GAMES every fortnight or so, the apprentices gather to challenge each other in battles of strength, speed, and wit. the elders typically organize the games, with winning apprentice awarded with a token (whether it be a feather, stone, or other) as well as first pick of prey the next day.
FIRST MOON when a kit survives its first moon, the clan celebrates the good fortune and survival of a kit with sharing tongues, gifts, and song.
RULES OF THE CAMP only apprentices and warriors are permitted outside of the safety of camp. an apprentice must be accompanied by a warrior. medicine cats heading to moonlake are to be escorted by a warrior. the warrior code is sacred; if you were to break the warrior code, you will be punished with severely with exile.
THE FRESH-KILL PILE prey is traditionally shared. cats tend to eat together as a community, and will sit around the pile eating or sharing tongues.
RESPECTED CREATURES there are also certain creatures of the marsh for whom the clan honor. see [[ respected creatures ]].
[[ t e r r i t o r y ]] The clan’s territory lies within marshes and lagoons, the water brackish and the creatures odd. In the salt marsh, surviving in brackish water with land regularly flooded by the tides of the ocean means many different plants that have adapted to the high salinity. These include cordgrass, glasswort, sea lavender, cypress trees, rushes, reeds, sedges, saltbushes, and algae.
THE GREAT WATERS far to the west lies the edge of the clan's territory, a wide stretch of water that expands along the land. you see in the distance the marshes on the other side, but the waters are far too deep and far too wide for any wise cat to cross.
MOONLAKE far to the east lies the sacred place where medicine cats and leaders travel to speak with starclan. it is a far-off journey deeper in the high marshes, and is a small lake that holds the light of the moon. medicine cats and leaders dream by the water's edge to speak with starclan.
TWOLEG BRIDGE a magnificent bridge built by the twolegs that is now overcome with plants and debris. still sturdy. the clan's connection to the west of the territory, where the primary hunting grounds are.
THE ISLAND OF ALGAESTAR in the midst of the lagoon the camp is perched on the banks upon is a tiny island graced by small trees. it is a mythical place, told to be the place the great Algaestar fell defending the clan from a massive flying snake. the swimming skills of the apprentices are tested by swimming to and from the island.
TWILIGHT LAGOON if you walk along the main lagoon until it ends, you'll be met with a second beautiful lagoon whose banks are speckled with yellow clover, lilies, and pink knotweed. it reflects the colors of twilight. a great romantic place to date or spend time with your mate.
THE LAVENDER SEA the burial grounds for fallen warriors. a bed of sea lavender blankets the land. it lies in the east; you'd pass by it on your way to moonlake.
[[ o u t s i d e t h e t e r r i t o r y ]]
Here is where Tangledthrush and her companions lie, far to the east past Moonlake, where the thistle and sweet fennel grow and the marshlands are thick with pickleweed and grasswort. the water is fiercely salty. it is, at least to the clan, a dark and sinister place.
MAKESHIFT CAMP tangledthrush's cats camp out in the roots of the sweet fennel that gather by the banks of the sea of pickleweed.
SEA OF PICKLEWEED the main hunting grounds. the land slopes into a thick blanket of pickleweed and saltbushes that goes for a while before it leads into open water, where shallow water lies and frogs leap. one must place their paws carefully around here, for you may never know when you'll be swallowed up. you can find all sorts of amphibians, reptiles, and fish here.
THE WATER'S CURVE right where the pickleweed meets the water is a calm, peaceful semi-circle cutting into the sea of pickleweed. it's a nice little fishing spot and a strangely safe place to chat. there is a serenity here that these cats sorely lacking security crave.
THE TWOLEG TREES strange silver twoleg trees tower higher than any marshland tree into the sky. cats are warned to stay away. these trees are old and dilapidated, and go on for as far as the eye can see.
THE FOUL BEACHES to the north there lies a strange beach, where a twoleg's barbed wire fence that lies fallen and twisted. an old exposed sewage pipe leads straight into the water. the air here is foul.
[[ c a m p ]] The camp lies on higher ground where the marshwater is only brackish. It is quite large, resting right next to a lagoon that provides fresh water. There’s a circle of dens made within the enormous blueblossom bushes that sit upon the land by the lagoon - this is the safest place within camp.
LEADER’S DEN the leader's den lies near the back of camp, its entrance marked by threads of green-leaved plants that grow beside the blueblossom bush. The ground has been dug, branches within have been cleared, and the walls are reinforced with mud and leaves. there is an escape route in the back that leads directly into the lagoon.
MEDICINE CAT'S DEN the medicine cat's den lies in the bush beside the leader's den all the way in the back, a much larger den to accommodate the number of medicine and sick cats within. nests are arranged around the trunk of the bush, with herbs hung from its extending branches. the scene of herbs is thick here.
WARRIOR CATS’ DEN the warrior's den is within the bush by the entrance to the circle of dens, cloaked behind a web of exposed branches.
APPRENTICES’ DEN the apprentice's den is opposite the warrior's, a comfortably large blueblossom bush decorated with tokens of proud battle-game winners.
NURSERY the nursery is next to the medicine cat's den in the back of the circle. this is the safest spot in the circle of dens, the blueblossom's bush's naturally thickly-woven and resilient branches preventing predators from clawing their way from the outside. kits can spend hours playing on the trunk and branches of the bush within.
ELDERS’ DEN the elder's den is across from the nursery, hidden under the thick leaves of a neighboring cypress tree. it is a small, well-protected den that reserves the softest of moss and algae for their nests.
GATHERING PLACE a spacious patch of land just outside the circle of dens that has been cleared for purposes of making announcements and holding gatherings, ceremonies, and games. the leader sits upon the roots of a massive pride of madeira to address the clan.
TRAINING AREA across the circle of dens is the training area, is a relatively large area of solid ground and soft golden grass for training apprentices. the training area is tucked inside the edge of camp.
FRESHKILL PILE the fresh-kill pile lies within center of the circle of dens for easy access in the shade of a small shrub. cats linger here and share tongues.

[[ p r e y ]] just a sample of what you might find. listed from most common to least common:
the green-striped muskrat the three-eyed trout the bioluminescent frog the floating newt the seven-eyed wren the alabaster salamander the two-necked grouse the ducks the hyper-speed sparrow the rainbowfish the screaming turtle the six-legged rabbit the well-dressed marsh harvest mice
[[ p r e d a t o r s ]] minks martens foxes raccoons snakes skunks beavers snapping turtles
[[ r e s p e c t e d c r e a t u r e s ]] there are some creatures that the clan shares mutual respect towards. these include:
THE GREAT SEERS the herons and great egrets that wander the salt marsh. (in fact, naming a kit after one of these great birds is considered a great honor, and are saved for kits foretold of great things.) they are enormous birds of white and blue feathers and long legs, their slim bodies often scattered with eyes. they are considered the Great Seers of the Salt Marsh. even though they cannot communicate with these creatures, the clan nod respectfully from a distance and takes cues from the herons’ behavior to foretell bad weather or misfortune. some medicine cats are able to communicate directly with the Great Seers via Moonlake.
THE GEESE absolutely terrifying creatures with beaks full of teeth and eyes that foretell death. do not look into the dark, beady, soulless eyes of the Geese. they have many nests around the clan’s camp and act as sentries over their young - thus, by extension, act as pseudo guards for the clan’s camp. the clan shares a tentative agreement with the Geese - essentially, mind your business and we’ll mind ours. if we help you out, you owe us help in the future.
[[ o t h e r c r e a t u r e s ]] THE STRANGER there's a strange twoleg that haunts the deeper waters of the marsh, swimming in a canoe with a long paddle. all cats can see is a shadow in the distance. sometimes this twoleg leaves fish on the banks of the marsh. Marshstar, like leaders before her, had forbidden cats to accept the fish, as doing so would be akin to accepting the soft life of a kittypet.
[[ h e r b s ]] not only do different herbs grow on the marsh, but strange, new herbs grow as well. the herb list and usages continue to expand as medicine cats hone their craft.
GLASSWORT succulent leaves that bloom on the marshes, collected right at the water's edge. consuming its thick, crunchy leaves is good for dehydration and constipation. GOOSE TONGUE a hardy plant with long base leaves and tall stems with clusters of succulent-like leaves in a rosette. crushed leaves are used to treat insect bites, inflammation, and small cuts. seeds can be crushed and consumed to treat coughs and relieve pain. KNOTWEED flowering plants with big leaves. can be used to treat symptoms of whitecough. PURSLANE a succulent with reddish-brown stems, yellow flowers, and milky sap. dried and used for fever and headaches. SEA ASTER a flowering plant with fleshy leaves and purple florets. treats eye health. SEASIDE GOLDENROD beautiful golden flower. can be chewed up into a poultice and applied to wounds. SEA LAVENDER these flowers bloom in gorgeous clouds of soft purple flowers. can be consumed for stomach issues or applied onto affected skin. WHITE HOREHOUND a tall plant whose leaves are covered in downy hairs with white flowers born in clusters. rare, can only be found by Moonlake. used for severe digestive and respiratory issues. treats greencough. YELLOW DOCK big, leafy leaves that grow on solid ground. they are excellent for infections of all kind, bacterial, fungal, and intestinal. also used for arthritis.
may attack. harvest with caution.

MEDICINE CATS (18 MOONS - DEATH)
[[ Leafriver ]] non-binary (they/them) || 36 moons || medicine cat Leafriver is a long-furred cat dappled with pale green and white. They have soft blue-green eyes and a gentle touch. They are on the small and slim side, with small paws and a long fluffy tail. || Leafriver is just as soft-spoken as they look, a bit shy and easily spooked. They have an enormous heart and is prone to panic, but will care for the cats under their care with the as much kindness as they can afford. || The previous medicine cat Newtbelly, their father and mentor, passed away due to a horrific case of a new illness. In failing to find a cure in time, Leafriver feels they've failed her father and thus has grown inconfident in their abilities. Their mother disappeared into the marsh moons ago, and now that their sister Treebitten has left them to follow Tangledthrush, they feel horribly alone. || They are able to breathe underwater. Useful for collecting herbs beneath the water's surface, but if they dwell beneath the surface for too long, the water will consume their mind. [[ willowflower]]
[[ Batwing ]] Trans tom (he/him) || 19 moons || Medicine Cat Batwing is a skinny brown tom with very short fur, a pointed face, and very large ears (similar to an oriental shorthair). His long legs make him very lanky, and despite his thin frame, he looks down on many cats. His marbled tabby stripes glow faintly green when he's agitated, and his blind eyes are bright green. || Batwing is anxious and an over-achiever, always trying to do more than he should as to not let others down. He is afraid of failing as a medicine cat, and while he doesn't feel his blindness is a hindrance, he feels as if other cats pity him for it. Having only recently become a full medicine cat, he feels as if he has a lot to prove, and as if he doesn't truly deserve his title. Some of these anxieties can overwhelm him and cause him to snap at patients when he really doesn't mean to. This often leaves him feeling terrible, as if he doesn't want others to see his worries. However, he is a quick learner, and always listens closely to what others tell him. || Batwing was born to an old medicine cat, Troutnose. He was born blind, and with his mother being a medicine cat, he was basically forced into the position. Troutnose died just before he received his medicine cat name, having been killed by a fox. || Batwing is able to see spirits that aren't from StarClan - they might not even be of cats at all - but their voices are grating and their faces terrifying. He's open for family. [[ highprince ]]
[[ Ivybloom ]] trans female (she/her) || 38 moons || medicine cat The molly is lean and willowy, built for running and leaping large distances. Her fur is a soft calico blend, with a base coat of white and a mixture of black and ginger spots. The normal patterning is joined by dark green spots, which upon further inspection are patches of moss. Her legs, tail, and neck are wrapped in vines, small leaves and flowers grow off of them. She has one vivid green eye in the center of her face. || Ivybloom is a grump. It's truly a rare thing to see the she-cat smile or laugh. She's stern and unafraid to boss around her clan mates when it comes to their health, showing her concern for them through her sarcastic comments. Ivybloom may not be sugar and spice, but the molly is a darn good medicine cat, who takes her job very seriously. A little tough-love goes a long way in her book. Self-assured but not arrogant, Ivybloom maintains a humbleness about her skills and talents, especially when complimented - which doesn't happen often. In another life she might have made a good leader, with her take charge attitude and sense of responsibility, but she was born to be a medicine cat - quite literally given her ability. Ivybloom is extremely clumsy due to her vines making it hard to walk, so she's always tripping over herself, falling into others or bushes. Beware the tongue-lashing you will receive if you make fun of these events or if you are sent to help her untangle herself. || Her father was a clever medicine cat named Darkivy, after which she was named. He raised her alone, since her mother, Spottedmarsh was taken by the swamps shortly after Ivybloom was born. She was extremely close to her father before he passed away due to mysterious circumstances. Not even she was able to find the cause of death. One day Darkivy was alive and healthy and the next day he was deceased. It's driven her crazy and the loss of her best friend has made her push away most others with her snappy attitude. Ivybloom is secretly bitter because as a natural born calico male, she is infertile and can't have kits to continue her line. || Ivybloom has the ability to grow certain herbs on her body via the vines that cover her legs, neck and tail. The drawback is certainly that it is extremely painful to extract any of these herbs, as it's a living part of her. Often her herbs are used as a last resort, seeing as she bleeds profusely and depending on how many are plucked, it can be an extreme danger to the she-cat's health. [[ little blu ♥ ]]
MEDICINE CAT APPRENTICE (6 MOONS - 18 MOONS)
[[ Foampaw ]] Demi-girl (she/they) || 10 moons || Medicine Cat Apprentice Foampaw is a long-haired, fluffy white she-cat with brick red paw pads and nose. She has several eyes on her body. Two where eyes normally are (left green, right brown), one on the back of her right leg (brown), and two on her left shoulder (both green). || Foampaw comes across as very serious and can be seen frowning a lot of the time. They tend to worry a lot and about a lot of different things, and this exhausts them very quickly. However, they're also a very determined individual, and will always see things through. || Foampaw was found as a newborn kit just inside the clan's territory, next to their dead mother by a previous medicine cat, Goldenleaf. Goldenleaf took Foampaw in as her own, and passed down the practice to her. Unfortunately about a moon after Foampaw became a medicine cat apprentice, Goldenleaf was killed by the marsh. Foampaw hopes to not meet a similar end, and be of great help to her clan. || Foampaw can breathe out a green tinted gas, which causes drowsiness. They only have enough stored in their lungs to use it three times a day. Closed to family! [[ showbiz ]]
WARRIORS (18 MOONS - 96 MOONS)
[[ Brackishclaw ]] non-binary (he/they) || 24 moons || warrior Brackishclaw is on the larger side, a handsome tortoiseshell with larger black patches crossing over the light green patches of his thick fur. Their green eyes gaze out from a prim and angular face, half of which is black fur crossing like a shadow across their face. They are a strong and efficient fighter. || Brackishclaw is brash and, shall we say, a little salty from time to time. They are a compelling speaker and a very capable warrior, of which they take maybe a little too much pride in, and is very ambitious and out-spoken. They take a lot of pride in their clan and is fiercely loyal, only wanting to serve their clan the best they can. || They are a young warrior who is very determined to become leader, seeing Marshstar's fall as a failure to serve her clan. They genuinely believe they would be best to lead the clan based on strength and determination, and will take the role by force if they have to. || Open to siblings/parents. [[willowflower]]
[[ Pondfrost ]] Trans Female (She/Her) || 25 Moons || Warrior Pondfrost is a skinny she-cat, with unusually long legs and six toes on each paw. Her eyes pale green with black sclera, and her fur is shockingly white, with green toes, like her paws were dipped into algae. Her pads are unusually thick and almost constantly slick with a strange and luminescent green gel. || Pondfrost has a peppy, go-getter attitude, always getting up early and eager to please those around her with her hard work. Unfortunately, this leads to her being very easy to lead on or trick, and her gullibility doesn't aid matters. Despite her flaws, her friendliness makes her easy for many to get along with, and her lack of real ambition makers her non-threatening to potential enemies. || Pondfrost's life has been wholly unremarkable, almost stunningly so. Being young and unambitious, she has tried to keep her head down about the current power vacuum consuming everybody's attention. || Pondfrost is capable of stepping on top of water due to a strange, almost gel-like substance on her pads. However, if her pads are dried or cracked, or if the surface of the water is heavily disturbed, she'll fall right through. Open to familial bonds. [[ nettle ]]
[[ Reedfoot ]] tom-cat || 42 moons || warrior Turtlepaw's father. [[CLAIMABLE]]
[[ Glassyfern ]] Genderfluid (any pronouns) || 24 moons || Warrior Glassyfern is a slender, short-haired tortoiseshell cat with white eyes. Her black nose and paw pads glow a faint green in the dark, and sporting a functional, extra mouth on her chest, she's one of the weirder-looking cats around. The tongues in both their normal and extra mouth are neon green, and the teeth in their extra mouth are charcoal black. || Glassyfern is loud. Loud snorer, loud talker, loud fighter. They voice their opinions loud, their declarations of love are loud. Whether this is a good or bad thing, he isn't sure. She's incredibly adaptable, able to mold to fit any environment, and very compassionate towards others. However, she's not the most reliable of cats. They tend to be very forgetful as well, so it's best to send someone with them if they're being sent to do something. || Glassyfern is a rather in-the-moment cat, not taking time to plan things ahead unless forced to. However, he does have his eye on the leader position, though not quite sure what he has to do to get it. || Open to family! [[ showbiz ]]
[[ Murkycloud ]] Tom (he/him) || 35 moons || Warrior Murkeycloud is a skinny, gray tabby tom. On the outside, his appearance seems pretty normal, besides the fact he has two tails. However, even weirder, is his black-colored blood, which occasionally leaks from his eyes. He finds this very bothersome. || Murkycloud is a rather bland cat, and always looks bored. He goes with the flow and seems to have no opinions of his own. He feels very disconnected from the rest of the clan, and tends to keep to himself because of that. He's very strong and extremely good fighter though, despite looking almost sickly. Murkycloud's very kind as well. || Murkeycloud has no real motivation besides staying alive and staying out of trouble. || He's got enhanced strength, strong enough to easily move a boulder his size. Open to family! [[ showbiz ]]
[[ Cloudwatcher ]] Nonbinary (he/they) || 28 Moons || Warrior Cloudwatcher is rather average in build - on the wiry side, but really nothing remarkable. He's nearly all jet black, with only cloudy white spots on his paws, tail tip, and muzzle. The prefix cloud- seems strange for them, but they used to be entirely white until the black began to cover their body. Their nose, paw pads, and inside of their ears are a venomous green, and glow in the dark. His eyes are entirely milky white, though he is still able to see out of them. || Cloudwatcher is generally quiet and non-confrontational, preferring to only engage with those he's close to. He purposefully avoids clanmates that are known to have tempers, not wanting to get himself caught up in drama. While generally reserved, they're blunt when they do express their opinions, not understanding why they would need to lie or sweeten things up. He has a firm belief in being honest and open, and is generally trustworthy. Because of his broken family, the thought of having his own scares him, though more than that, he's excited and ready to give his kits all he love he can. || Cloudwatcher was born to two clan cats - Featherfern, his mother, and Weedpelt, his father. He came from a very large litter, though two of his sisters - Mistkit and Ashkit - were stillborn, causing Featherfern to be distant with her living kits. Cloudwatcher was close to his two other siblings growing up, though Weedpelt never seemed to like him very much, acting on edge around his son. Featherfern and Weedpelt hardly spoke after their kits became apprentices. His sister, Asterpaw, stuck with Featherfern, while his brother, Beaverpaw, took Weedpelt's side. Cloudpaw was stuck in the middle, fitting in with neither side of his family. One day, Featherfern and Asterpaw went out hunting together and never returned, and they were assumed dead. Cloudwatcher's ability began to manifest shortly after his warrior ceremony, disgusting his father, and by extension, Beavertail. Eventually, Weedpelt's hatred for his son grew so strong that he left the clan altogether, unable to spend any more time around the one he blamed for tearing his family apart. While he reached out to Beavertail, his brother shunned him, until he eventually joined Tangledthrush and was exiled from the clan. His mate, Mockingbird, is the most important thing in the world to him. || For short amounts of time, Cloudwatcher is able to sustain himself off the fear of other cats instead of food. Every time he does this, the black in his pelt spreads farther. His ability absolutely horrifies him, and he avoids using it as much as he can. Over-using it can also lead to malnutrition, or in the worst case, personality changes that make them more aggressive. I know I shouldn't make more cats but I'm deciding if I want to play Beavertail or leave him up for claims. [[ highprince ]]
[[ Puddlespots ]] male (he/him) || 25 moons || warrior An athletic, muscular tom Puddlespots prides himself on his fighting abilities as he trains very hard to keep himself in top condition. His fur is a bright white, broken up by shimmering silver patches that linger all over his pelt. Their placement changes by the day, as they appear like liquid, shifting and rippling across his fur until they pool in random places. He has two small horns between his ears that are a glowing silver. His eyes are a foggy gray, though he can see very clearly out of them. || Puddlespots is an extroverted tom, he loves to socialize and be in large groups. He has a secret fear of being alone. He's impulsive and often follows his instincts over logic, which can get him into some tricky situations. Hiding his anxieties is something he excels at, and the tom is constantly putting on a brave face for his clan mates. A bit over confident at times, Puddlespots is reluctant to admit defeat and even more hesitant to apologize. Backing down from a challenge isn't in his nature and he will always push himself above and beyond in order to prove himself. Loyal to his friends and family, he would give up nearly anything for them, especially his sister, who he's very protective over. Puddlespots may tease her and tug at her tail to annoy her but if others try it, he'll rip their ears off. || Puddlespots had a fairly uneventful upbringing alongside his sister, Pondfrost. He isn't overly ambitious so he is content to merely watch the chaos unfold as the clan has their little power struggle. || The tom has the unique ability to create a mirror version of himself, though if water of any form touches the copy it will disintegrate. Creating a copy of himself also takes a tone of stamina and he's usually pretty wiped after two attempts. His horns can predict the weather but only of the current day and if he's sick or tired it's not as accurate. He is in the closet but gets this weird fluttery feeling in his stomach around Brackishclaw, not that he'd ever admit it! (He's got a crush. Lol.) [[ little blu ♥ ]]

APPRENTICES (6 MOONS - 18 MOONS)
[[ Turtlepaw ]] She-cat (she/her) || 11 moons || Apprentice Turtlepaw is a small molly with spiky fur, creating a mane-like appearance around her neck. Her fur is a gray-ish green, but she has white stockings, and her "mane" is white. Her legs are disproportionately short compared to the rest of her body, and she has extraordinarily long fangs, two of which poke out of her mouth. || Turtlepaw is determined and hot-headed, always sure that she's right and that her way is the only way. She has no fear of arguing or butting her head into someone else's business if she thinks it's the best thing to do. She has a strong drive to succeed, and to one day be one of, if not the most, powerful warrior. || Turtlepaw was brought into camp (either by herself or with siblings), by her father Reedfoot, who claimed that she was his daughter. Her mother was likely some rogue, and Turtlepaw would like to meet her some day. || Her father, Reedfoot is claimable if anyone wants him, and she's open for a mother and siblings. [[ highprince ]]
[[ Seapaw ]] tom - he/him || 11 moons || apprentice This tom is rather tall, with long legs and a rather slender body. His base coat is a strange gray, pearled green. He has pale sea-foam green ripple like markings all across his coat, aside from his tail, which is incredibly thin and ends in a spike. The fur of his tail and a single sock, his front left one to be precise, is pure white. His eyes are a dark green. || Seapaw is a quiet tom, who is a bit awkward around others and finds it hard to communicate with his clan mates. He is painfully shy and prefers his own company, where he can daydream and watch butterflies to his full content. There isn't really an aggressive bone in his body and he struggles with battle training and even taking the life of prey. He'd much rather pick flowers and finds herb lore much more fascinating. He wasn't born from a medicine cat line, however, so he's stuck being a warrior. Seapaw is extremely sensitive to others' emotions and this can make him easily swayed. His heart is three sizes too big for his awkward little body. On top of that, he is a twitchy tom, his body constantly in unintentional motion which makes him feel strange, like he's some sort of freak. || He was brought to camp by his father Reedfoot, along with his sister Turtlepaw. He never knew his mother, as she is rumored to be some kind of rogue, but he is honestly afraid of what she'd think of him. || Seapaw has the 'gift' of teleportation, which really helps when he needs to hunt because his constant twitching makes pouncing near impossible. He can't teleport very far though, only five fox lengths, and it always takes quite a bit of energy. After three teleportation stunts in a day, he's about ready to pass out. His spike on the end of his tail can also be used, but is not really effective for defense, instead it's rather useful for fishing. [[ little blu ♥ ]]
[[ Pitchpaw ]] male (he/him) || 6 moons || apprentice This is a rather short tom, who can't seem to get rid of his kitten fluff. His pelt his long and mainly colored a dark russet. His paws, chest, stomach, tail-tip, and a single diamond on his forehead are an off white color, closer to ivory. Luminescent indigo rings circle his tail and he has a matching set of extremely thin lines across the bridge of his nose. He has deep blue eyes, lighter towards his pupil but gradually growing darker towards the edge of his iris. || Pitchpaw is clever and wisecracking, a true wild child. He has the spirit of a heathen and isn't afraid to show it. Any mischief to be had is probably being caused by this little tom. Charisma and charm ooze from him, especially when he brings out the pout or the big doe eyes. Aside from being an absolute menace, Pitchpaw genuinely has a big heart and is a dedicated friend. At the end of the day, he doesn't mean any harm and every prank and snarky comment is done in full jest. || His mother, Tealdove, was quite the introverted thing. She kept to herself most of the time so it was a big shock when she ended up pregnant. No one knew who the father was and she refused to tell. Pitchpaw and his brother Echopaw were the only kits born from the litter. Tealdove unfortunately died during childbirth, leaving her kits to fend for themselves. They've had a pretty normal upbringing regardless. He's very close to Echopaw, the two are nearly inseparable. || Pitchpaw has the ability to unhinge his jaw and scream at high pitches, which can stun prey. His jaw is incredibly sore afterword and his voice can get rough and scratchy. If he uses the ability enough in one day he can loose his voice altogether for a day or two. His biological father is Jacques and his litter mate is Echopaw, who is open to claim. He also has an unknown half-sister called Hadrian. [[ little blu ♥ ]]

QUEENS
[[ Mockingbird ]] molly - she/her || 26 moons || queen Small, unassuming Mockingbird really is just a tiny wisp of a feline. Her pelt is a delicate shade of creamy white, thick and soft as downy feathers. She has soft colorpoint markings, bright golden on her face, paws, tail, and ears. Luminescent lavender colored speckles splash across her cheeks, down her spine, and directly under her eyes. One of her eyes is a sky blue and the other is a faded amber. A scar runs from the corner of her right eye to the edge of the left side of her jaw. || Mockingbird is a genuine molly who believes in complete honesty, even if that makes her come off as a bit blunt at times. She's not one for playing games or tip-toeing around situations, if she has a problem, she'll speak up about it and get it off her chest. This can make her opinionated and stubborn, especially when something goes against her inner morals. Mockingbird is deeply family-oriented, especially as she was the only remaining out of all her siblings. She treasures family and longs to spend every moment possible with her kin, making memories. The fierce protectiveness she takes over her loved ones, whether they are her actual kits or not, can be compared to a mother bear defending her cubs. This can be verbally or physically and in life threatening situations or simple arguments. Injustice is not something that Mockingbird can stand and she will always do what she believes is right, even before following the code. || Mockingbird was born into the clan to Cypresstail and Sunbreak. As a kitten she and her litter mates, Shinekit(later Shinepaw), Tidekit(later Tidewhisper), and Dawnkit(later Dawnfall), had decided to escape camp and go explore - as many foolish young cats do. They waited until their parents had been busy, Cypresstail with his apprentice and Sunbreak with helping fix a hole in the nursery wall. Then the four of them crept out of camp and eventually made it all the way to the Great Waters. Mockingbird, then Mockingkit, had been taunted by her siblings that she wasn't brave enough to take a drink from the deep water. She'd taken the bait and Tidekit, not understanding the danger, had teasingly pushed her into the water. Luckily Sunbreak had noticed his kits had left the camp and had followed their scents to the Great Waters. He dove in after Mockingbird and managed to set her safely on the banks. He ended up drowning however. Mockingbird still secretly blames herself for his death. Her siblings have unfortunately all passed away. || Mockingbird has the ability to mimic the voices or noises she hears around her, but when she tries to use her own voice she often stutters or stumbles over her own words. [[ little blu ♥ ]]
[[ Oceanpelt ]] she-cat (she/hers) || 62 moons || queen Oceanpelt is a very fluffy she-cat with pale blue-gray fur that is constantly in motion, as if the wind is continuously buffeting her pelt. The movement reveals sheens of teal and green. Her ears and paws are tipped with white, her legs so short that they just tuck underneath her massive pelt. Oceanpelt has very, very pale sea-foam green eyes and six very fluffy tails. || Her mind has always been a bit detached, a little distant, though recently she’s been even more so, speaking in a distracted, airy voice as she gazes off into the distance. She was remembered to be and still is considered a bit of an airhead, though she mostly just struggles to follow conversation and often jumps about six feet ahead in her mind, meandering from one topic to another or abruptly cutting to the next, marinating her thoughts in the abstract. What she does love is movement, ironic as she often finds herself in the nursery. || Oceanpelt is the mother of Puddlespots and Pondfrost. They were her first litter, and though she always wanted more kits it didn’t come to be with her white-furred mate Saltywhisper. When Turtlepaw and Seapaw were brought in as kits by Reedfoot, Oceanpelt happily took them in under her wing and raised them like they were her own. Now, by some gift by Starclan, Oceanpelt has found herself with kits once more, though at her age it is now an even more dangerous gamble. || Oceanpelt is often found serenely floating a few inches from the ground. The lighter her spirits, the higher she can fly. However, gravity’s lack of a pull on her means that she can almost never touch the ground on her own, which can mean a struggle in doing the most menial tasks. Her mate Saltywhisper is claimable.

[[ Cypresstail ]] tom (he/him) || 112 moons || elder Cypresstail is a very fluffy white tom-cat with dark green paws and lighter green speckles that crawl up his legs. He is notable for his dark green tail, akin to the leafy greens that grow around camp. His eyes are a gentle amber, one slightly clouded. || Cypresstail is a very quiet individual, very careful with his words, if he ever says more than one. He is very intelligent if not slightly aloof, and prefers to be left alone. || Cypresstail used to be known for his stealth and silence. He was especially skilled at camouflage thanks to his coloring. He'd slowly outgrown most of his friends, his mate, and even his kits. Only one of his kits have survived and gone on to have their own family. Nowadays he sometimes seems a bit lost, his memory slowly fading. Cypresstail is one of the cats in line for leader. || He is blind in one eye. Open to kits and grandkits.

ROGUES AND LONERS
[[ Jacques ]] tom (he/him) || 42 moons || rogue A handsome, long-furred russet tom cat with emerald green eyes. His fur is tinted with a dark, forest green. He is more on the skinny side, relying on speed, agility, and wit to get by. || Jacques is nonchalant, flippant, and dry-witted. He is not a tom who takes many things seriously, and enjoys the chaos and nonsenseness that this life brings. He is also a tom that enjoys the attention of other cats, and likes to play with the affections of as many cats while eagerly drinking their love in. || This rogue was abandoned as a kit by his parents - whether his parents were lost to the marshes or left him by will, he doesn't know, but doesn't care. Either way, they left him alone, and he now hungers for company that he does not know how to keep. Emotionally immature, he does whatever he can to draw cats to his side. Now that there's a power vaccuum in the nearby clan, he sees an opportunity to gain much, much attention. || Jacques totally had an affair with one of the clan cats and has a little kit running around. Open to familial bonds. [[willowflower]]
[[ Needle ]] Nonbinary (He/Him, She/Her) || 31 Moons || Loner Needle has a sleek-looking, jet-black pelt, with narrow, neon green eyes, and an unusually long tail. His pelt is crossed through with electric blue stripes. || Needle is nosy, poking her nose where it doesn't belong and always wary of those she doesn't know. She often starts arguments for little to no reason, and her chatterbox tendencies can be frustrating for others. Despite being hard to be around, she has incredibly determination, and it can be difficult to deter her from her goals once she has fixated on them, and while she can be a bit snippy, she often has encouraging words to offer to her own allies- even if they're (more often than not) phrased as insults. || Needle is a drifter, traveling from place to place with little plan or real direction. He met with Rope a few seasons ago, and began to travel alongside him. He does most of the speaking for the pair. || The hairs on his pelt are unusually sharp, and he can bristle to deter smaller attackers. However, they are not sharp enough to cause harm unless they hit something vulnerable, or scrape an open wound. Unfortunately, his fur has a tendency to irritate his own injuries by constantly jabbing into them. Open to familial bonds. [[ nettle ]]
[[ Rope ]] Agender (He/Him) || 42 Moons || Loner Rope is a coal black cat, with ruffled short fur, and pale grey eyes with two pupils in each one. He has a neon green stripe that runs from the tip of his nose to the tip of his tail. This stripe has a faint glow that pulses in time with his heartbeat. || Despite his lack of verbalization and somewhat mellow looks, Rope is exceedingly eccentric, and thinks of himself as something of an explorer, always poking around where he shouldn't be to find "artifacts" of questionable origin and usefulness. His fascination with what his group called "before" often leads to him making questionable decisions in the name of discovery. Despite this, he has an earnestness that is hard to deny, and a strong sense of compassion. || Rope is the descendant of kittypets, and his family has passed down (very distorted) stories of twolegs. He left his family, a small group of loners, at a young age, due to an increasing sense of wanderlust, and has since become acquainted with and began to travel alongside Needle. || Rope's saliva has a numbing effect when it gets into an open orifice. It cannot kill, but it can make smooth movement frustrating. Due to it being in contact with his mouth, his own jaws suffer this numbing effect constantly, making speaking difficult for him. [[ nettle ]]
[[ Virgil ]] Tom (he/him) || 29 moons || Loner Virgil is a black cat with a white underbelly, chin, and tail, and white freckling on his face and back. He is rather large, which doesn't suit his personality in the slightest. Green barbs grow from his pelt, which is always coated in oil. His eyes are a pale green, and glow slightly. || Virgil is awkward and quiet, tending to keep to himself. He doesn't stick his noise where it doesn't belong, and he tends to keep his mouth shut unless he's spoken to. He's got a hard time making friends, and most others tend to think of him as strange, and in the worst case, dangerous. He's kind-hearted if he actually did manage to make a friend, and would stick by them until the end, putting his life on the line for theirs. || Virgil's parents disappeared when he was young, and he insists that they didn't abandon him. He grew up on his own, and had been alone for the majority of his life. || The barbs on Virgil don't do much except intimidate, but the oil that secretes from his skin can harden into an almost armor-like layer when he's threatened. The oil leaves an easily traceable trail and is often seen as repulsive. [[ highprince ]]
[[ Hadrian "Hadie" ]] female (she/her) || 12 moons || loner Agile and lithe, Hadie is made for stealth. Her coat is mainly black, long and feathery, giving her a distinctly feminine appearance. She has a pair of tall ears which are tufted in a rusty red. Across her pelt are bengal-like spots that are white in the center and a dark red around the edges. Her eyes are an icy shade of green which turn pitch black when she uses her ability. || Hadie is a lonely soul who has never felt as though she belongs anywhere. She has fought hard for her survival and has a fiercely independent spirit as a result. Taking care of herself is all she's ever known so the molly hates to rely on others and often doesn't trust in the kindness of strangers. Touching others is a big no for her, Hadie will go to great lengths to avoid touching others for the soul reason of being afraid of her own ability. Seeing as she's taught herself about the world, there is a underlying naivety about the young feline. She is so curious about the world around her and can get fascinated by the most simple of things. || Hadie was born to a molly named Asha, who lost her other kittens. Which was fine with the molly, she hadn't exactly wanted to become a mother in the first place. Asha quickly became afraid of her daughter, due to her ability, and she left little Hadie to drown in a small stream. By the will of whatever spirits watch over loners, the kit was spared by washing up on the shore. From that day on, she vowed to only rely on herself. || Hadrian doesn't have a power, she has a curse. Her ability is fear itself and transferred through touch. Meaning if the she-cat touches others she will know their deepest fear - by being locked into a waking nightmare of her own design. Hadie can't escape these episodes, though they usually only last a few moments. The other cat will begin to feel extremely anxious and unnerved until they move at least a fox-length away from her, though it won't be clear why. This makes other cats not too eager to be around Hadie, as one can imagine. [[ little blu ♥ ]]
[[ Ladder ]] She-Cat (She/Her) || 42 Moons || Rogue (Travelers) Ladder is an elegant-looking cat, with silky white fur scored through with v-shaped black stripes, a sweeping, plume-like tail, and drowsy-looking grey eyes. Her nose, pads, and whiskers are pale green, and she is shorter and chubbier than her siblings. She very much looks the part of a kittypet, though her unusually long claws and bright green saliva give her away as another product of the same mutations that have touched the rest of the land. || Ladder has a far more stern and serious outlook than her siblings, though she’s not adverse to relaxation, once she’s sure that she’s won. She views things as though she is constantly at war with cats outside her group, and this can make her hard to talk to, as this grim viewpoint often seeps into her demeanor. She can be quite gloomy and negative, but surprisingly gets along well with more cheerful, optimistic cats. Despite coming off as relaxed, if not a bit pessimistic, she has a violent temper and short fuse. She is incredibly protective of Kite and dislikes virtually any cat who even attempts to make a pass at her sister. || The sister of Kite and Rope, she and her siblings were born to Hook and Stairs, the leaders of the Travelers, a group of cats descended from kittypets who moved from place to place, taking over territories. When her parents died, she inherited leadership alongside Kite, but Rope abandoned the group soon after. She still holds resentment towards Rope for leaving. She and Kite are currently travelling alone, scouting out new territories for their group. || Her saliva causes a burning sting when it comes into contact with open wounds, though it does not cause actual damage. She is under its effects constantly, which have resulted in her short temper and snippy attitude. [[ nettle ]]
[[ Kite ]] She-Cat (She/Her) || 42 Moons || Rogue (Travelers) Kite is a pretty she-cat, with sleek, coal black fur, long whiskers, and a long, slim body with angular features. Her pelt is sliced through with curving stripes that constantly pulse and shift colors, and her pads and saliva have the same effect. Her eyes are entirely consumed by this pulsing coloration, giving them a psychedelic look. || Kite contrasts sharply with her sister, with a more carefree, ditzy attitude, often misplacing or forgetting things and cheerfully moving through life as though she has nothing to worry or think about. She’s quite flirty, but unfortunately also extremely possessive and jealous, and the only time she’s known to lose her cool is over romantic situations, at which point she becomes violent and volatile. || The sister of Ladder and Rope, she was born into the Travelers, a group of cats descended from kittypets that move from place to place, forcefully taking over territories. While she now has leadership alongside Ladder, she takes it far less seriously, and is thus treated more as a second-in-command. She and Ladder are currently scouting out new territories for the Travelers. || Her saliva has a psychedelic, drug-like effect when it gets into open wounds. She herself is usually under its effects, and has spent seasons trying to overcome it. Her movements are still sometimes awkward and sluggish due to it, and it has left her with a bit of a ditzy and forgetful attitude. [[ nettle ]]

THE EXILED
[[ Tangedthrush ]] she-cat (she/hers) || 38 moons || exiled deputy A yellow-orange tabby she-cat with light forest-green markings that are scattered across her thick, fluffy pelt. She has three eyes, two of which are a orange-ish amber, and a violet third. || Tangledthrush is a very intellectual individual with a tendency to overthink. She is very opinionated and is not afraid to share her thoughts, especially when it comes to the warrior code. However, she is very heartfelt and cares a lot about her fellow cats. She can get very bitter and hold tight to grudges. || She was appointed deputy because she was Marshstar's niece, and this was part of what brought Tangledthrush to act on her thoughts towards the clan's traditions and code. She greatly disagreed with Marshstar appointing her purely on familial bond and considered it an elder's sentimentality. She then continued to disagree with Marshstar on multiple instances, the conflict only simmering until Marshstar exiled one of her best friends for accepting the Stranger's fish during bareleaf in a effort to feed their ailing sibling. This caused her to speak out against all the clan's known - most cats, naturally, were shocked and offended, but many, especially younger cats, took her side. A civil war broke out that took Marshstar's last life. The rest of the clan drove her out, leaving only a few cats following in her footsteps. She now seethes outside of her old clan's territory, hurt and bitter, and slowly calculating ways to take the clan back. || Her third eye sees in infared, useful in tracking down hidden or invisible prey. However, she can only use one sight at a time, so either two or one eye is closed at all times lest she go into sensory overload. Open to family. [[ willowflower ]]
[[ Treebitten ]] she-cat (she/hers) || 36 moons || exiled medicine cat Treebitten is a much larger cat than her sibling, with brown patches along with green patterning her long white fur. Her entire chest and front paws are white. Her tail is a stub from a hunting accident. Her eyes are a bright, burning emerald green. || Treebitten is sour and dry-witted, often grumpy and in a dour mood. She is very straight-forward and quite blunt, with a harshness to her honesty that can be quite off-putting, as if she's trying to push other cats away. Treebitten is also sharp, logical, and calculating, quite the scientist when it comes to experimenting with her herbs. || She is Leafriver's sister. Born of Lilystream and Newtbelly, Treebitten was born with the scent of herbs in her maw and glasswort in her claws. She at once became known as the more dangerous of the two merely in her strange and suspicious experiments. While Treebitten never experimented on other cats, she will feed her experiments to live prey, giving her an infamy in the clan that made her decision to follow Tangledthrush out all the more easier. [[ willowflower ]]
[[ Swallowdive ]] Tom (He/Him) || 24 Moons || Exiled Warrior True to his name, Swallowdive's coloration resembles that of the bird itself quite well, with a glossy blueish-black pelt, with a stark white belly and vivid red band across his chest. He has large, bright green eyes, and his pads, claws, and teeth all have a faint green glow to them. || Swallowdive has a strong sense of confidence, and isn't afraid to share his thoughts or feelings on any matter that comes his way, regardless of qualification. Despite being something of a loud-mouth, one can appreciate his tendency to be honest and direct, and he prefers not to keep secrets. He hates complying with decisions he disagrees with, and will not follow a leader he doesn't respect. || Swallowdive is Brackishclaw's brother, and it shows in his more out-spoken persona. Like his sibling, he desired a younger leader, but unlike Brackishclaw, he quickly jumped to Tangledthrush's side when the former deputy tried to take leadership by force. He currently lives in exile with Tangledthrush and the rest of her followers. || Swallowdive has the ability to walk on vertical and upside-down surfaces, regardless of the pull of gravity, and got his suffix from his tendency to drop down on enemies and prey from above. However, if he remains upside down for too long, he can get quite dizzy and fall from blood rushing to his head, and he has trouble walking up very slick surfaces. [[ nettle ]]
[[ Fadedecho ]] tom - he/him || 38 moons || exiled warrior This tom has a dull golden pelt, as though he has been through the wash one to many times and his color is starting to bleed out. He has slightly darker tabby marking but even those are faded, worn out. His feet are inky black and pitch black marbled tabby markings make their way up his legs and down his tail, to his pure white tail tip. They're the only bits of color on him that aren't faded. He has two light, ghastly blue eyes. His lips are often turned up in a smile, even if he's feeling melancholy and he has another set of teeth hiding behind his first. || Fadedecho is silent, he is completely mute aside from small little grunts and the occasional purr. His eyes shine with intelligence though he has no actual voice, he doesn't let others walk all over him. He's independent and logical, often following reason rather than passion. He can be a bit snarky when he wants to be, though the only ones to hear it are those he has grown closer to. Fadedecho is loyal to his sister, who he is closer to than most because he often uses Tangledthrush as his voice, and believes strongly in her ideals. So when she was exiled from the clan he followed right behind her. He doesn't enjoy sleeping, in fact he is a self-inflicted insomniac. He suffers from terrible night terrors that often tell the future, but in confusing twisted ways that he doesn't understand. || Brother to Tangledthrush. || Fadedecho has the power of telepathy but when he uses it with anyone he's not emotionally really close to it gives him incredible migraines to the point where his vision blurs and he can even black out. He has clairvoyant nightmares that make little to no sense to him and cause him more grief than any help. [[ little blu ♥ ]]

STARCLAN
[[ Marshstar ]] she-cat (she/hers) || died at 103 moons || leader A wiry, brown and green, short-furred she-cat with amber eyes. She was known for her speed and skill with her six legs. || Marshstar has a fiery-spirt and a boldness to her that gave her the capability to lead with the strength of her presence and voice, despite her age. She is extremely loyal, but at the same time very stubborn, beliving that a firm paw and an iron grip on the warrior code is what carries this clan through the hard times. Marshstar is very good at looking at the big picture and is very careful about thinking about how the entire clan can be benefitted, prioritizing caring for the members of the clan who can't care for themselves. However, she can use her power as leader to benefit herself. || Her sister was Glowingbrook, someone she was very close to. When she died protecting an apprentice that had broken camp rules and gone off on their own, Marshstar cracked down even harder on the rules, prioritizing safety above all else. Her niece is Tangledthrush. || Marshstar lost her last life during the civil war. There are many contradicting stories on how she fell, but most of the clan, including herself, blames Tangledthrush.
[[ Glowingbrook ]] she-cat (she/hers) || died at 48 moons || warrior A pale, short-furred she-cat with a small frame. Her eyes were a light green. When activated with water, her fur glows a gentle green. || Glowingbrook was a sweet individual who felt frustrated and trapped throughout her life. She didn't like to bother cats with her thoughts, and tended to keep to herself with a smile in the background. Glowingbrook was only really honest with her kit Tangledthrush, and only because Tangledthrush was so curious about the world. || Glowingbrook really wanted to be a medicine cat, and thought it was a good path to take since she risked her fur glowing, attracting predators, every time she went out of camp, but due to the exclusivity of the medicine cat families, she was rejected as a medicine cat apprentice. She reluctantly took on the mantle of warrior, learning to use her glowing fur as a lure for prey and distraction for predators. || Unfortunately, when Glowingbrook's apprentice had gone out on their own to mess around with their crush, only to be met with a mink, Glowingbrook had ran out on her own to protect them. She saved the apprentices by distracting the mink long enough for them to flee, sacrificing her own life for them.
[[ Sunbreak ]] trans tom (he/him) || died at 56 moons || warrior A golden-pelted, short-furred cat with a stocky build. His eyes were a bright blue. || Sunbreak was sharp and quick-witted, and just as sharp-tongued. He can be a little impatient, but he was quick on the uptake and quick to figure out solutions to a problem. He was adventurous and humorous, tending to only show his warmer side to his close ones. || He was Cypresstail's mate. || Sunbreak drowned in The Great Waters trying to save his kit.
[[ Lilystream ]] non-binary (they/she/him) || died at 62 moons || warrior A beautiful and sleek silver cat with emerald green tabby stripes. Her eyes were a deep, dark blue. || Shy and timid, Lilystream has a wry kind of humor that they only reveal when their walls are down. They were very anxious, especially about the negative things they feared their fellow clanmates were thinking of them. Newtbelly, with his bluntness, was refreshing, and made him feel comfortable to spend time and open up. || Their mate was the former medicine cat Newtbelly, their kits Leafriver and Treebitten.
[[ Newtbelly ]] tom-cat (he/him) || died at 74 || medicine cat A thin tom with green, brown, and white patches. His eyes were a pale amber. || Solemn and serious, Newtbelly was very no-nonsense and very blunt, direct and to the point. He was not one to mince words and let cats know exactly what he's thinking. || He was the mate of Lilystream and father to Leafriver and Treebitten.

[[ season ]]
we are currently entering the first moon of greenleaf. prey will be a bit more active... but so will the predators.
[[ upcoming events ]] apprentices, start training! the battle games will be within the fortnight!
[[ current plot ]] we're in the wake of the civil war. tangledthrush has just been banished, with some cats following her to the outskirts of the territory. it's been a few days since. now that the cats have had time to mourn their fallen leader and treat their injured, they are now hungry to fill the spots of leader and deputy to return to life as normal.
tensions are thick within the camp. cypresstail hesitates on taking the mantle of leader. brackishclaw and turtlepaw ruminate on leadership. leafriver and batwing just want to get some herbs leafriver and batwing just want some herbs without mutilating poor ivybloom for them.
jacques has recruited needle and rope in his vague plan to stroll into the clan and take on some power for himself. he'd showed them the dangerous power of electricity that the twoleg towers hold.
tangledthrush has brought virgil into the fold of the exiled cats.

(Oof hope these are okay/that i didnt forget anything)
Pondfrost || Trans Female (She/Her) || 25 Moons || Warrior Pondfrost is a skinny she-cat, with unusually long legs and six toes on each paw.
Needle || Nonbinary (He/Him, She/Her) || 31 Moons || Loner Needle has a sleek-looking, jet-black pelt, with narrow, neon green eyes, and an unusually long tail.
Rope || Agender (He/Him) || 42 Moons || Loner Rope is a coal black cat, with ruffled short fur, and pale grey eyes with two pupils in each one.

Brackishclaw || in warrior’s den
It was difficult for Brackishclaw to rouse himself from sleep. Trying to pull himself back into consciousness was like dragging his heavy body through water. His heart felt heavy, like a log laying on his chest, when he finally could parse between his lingering dreams and reality. Oh, cold reality was quiet and still, where he slept with distance from his clanmates, where he held his wounded leg carefully in his nest as to not disturb the fresh claw marks etched into it.
Finally, he drew himself up, staring down at his paws. His head felt like it was stuffed with cobwebs. Usually, Tangledthrush would be calling the warriors out for dawn patrol. He could almost imagine the proud she-cat’s form at the mouth of the den, head held tall, backlit by the morning light. When he looked up, and she wasn’t there, there was a crumpled knot of anger and, to his disgust, sorrow. No, he couldn’t dare miss that traitor. He wouldn’t even entertain such a thought.
He looked around at his sleeping clanmates. As the first one up, he felt responsible to rouse a few to head out on a hunting patrol - they still need prey in the fresh-kill pile, after all. “Morning, everyone,” he said, meow still rough from sleep. He blindly reached over to the nearest cat, Pondfrost, and nudged her. “C’mon, get up. Let’s grab a few cats and go get some prey.” Not the most eloquent wake-up call, but he figured recent events permitted such.
Jacques || outside the territory
Jacques was lounging on a bed of pickleweed, carefully cleaning a fish bone as he relaxed, nice and comfortable. He looked over at where the sweet fennel grew with narrowed eyes - he’d been observing the strange clan cats who had started camping out there just a few days ago, looking tired and bloodied, and it piqued his interest. I’d like to know what that’s all about, he thought, chewing thoughtfully on the fish spine.
He chucked the bone carelessly. One of the dragonflies buzzing around at once leapt up from the shallow water, opening its tiny mouth impossibly wide to fit its eager jaws around it, and landed with a great splash a little ways away. Jacques stared at it. "Good job," he told it, before standing and stretching. First, perhaps he should scrounge around for more of a breakfast. That small-fry of a fish barely filled his stomach. Perhaps he can find a newt - oh, if he could nab a salamander that would be a treat, he thought pleasantly as he padded off.

Pondfrost - w/ Brackishclaw - willowflower"'M already up, don't worry." Pondfrost's ears pricked immediately as she stood, giving a long, luxurious stretch, her jaws parting in a wide yawn. She had been restless since... well, everything. She found herself waking up earlier than usual, but remained in her next, not wanting to disturb her equally exhausted clanmates. It left her feeling awfully cramped, especially when she was usually so high energy. Sitting still was certainly not her thing. "You okay?" She added, after giving her pad a few licks, the gel on the bottom leaving a glowing smear on her tongue. Brackishclaw certainly seemed more grumpy than usual. She supposed it was expected- everybody was on edge nowadays. Still, she was willing to risk annoying her clanmates if it meant checking in on them. Besides, it was easy to miss Tangledthrush on mornings like this. She was always so busy, yet was able to sort all her groggy clanmates out every morning. She would be lying if she said a part of her didn't miss the she-cat. Needle and Rope - near Jacques - willowflowerIt always took Rope a few moments to get up. His numb jaw meant he drooled quite a bit, and he needed time to clean himself up as a result. Needle took the opportunity to fetch fresh-kill, as muskrat that must have been as groggy as he felt, from how slow it was. It was lean and wouldn't feed them both too well, but it was better than nothing. "C'mon. We need to get moving. I don't like being so close to groups of cats- they're all so hostile." Needle paced, as Rope had his share of the muskrat. The loner ate neatly, despite his jaw, having grown used to accounting for it during meals over the seasons. The pair had been nesting there for two weeks, before that ragged group of cats appeared, making their home in the sweet fennel. As beaten up as they looked, Rope wasn't much of a fighter, and Needle couldn't take so many on his own. Besides, with their remarkably bright markings, they stood out against the terrain. (-tangledthrush voice- what are the odds of a rogue sleeping nearby? oh, wait, jacques. er, what are the odds of TWO of them?)

ooh, radioactive cats is a fun concept hope these are all good Batwing || Trans tom (he/him) || 19 moons || Medicine Cat Batwing is a skinny brown tom with very short fur, a pointed face, and very large ears (similar to an oriental shorthair).
Virgil || Tom (he/him) || 29 moons || Loner Virgil is a black cat with a white underbelly, chin, and tail, and white freckling on his face and back.
Turtlepaw || She-cat (she/her) || 11 moons || Apprentice Turtlepaw is a small molly with spiky fur, creating a mane-like appearance around her neck. || Her father, Reedfoot [42 moon old warrior] is claimable if anyone wants him, and she's open for a mother and siblings [[ highprince ]]

Brackishclaw || in warrior’s den with Pondfrost
Brackishclaw’s ear twitched. “‘M fine.” He turned toward the entrance of the den, wincing at the stiffness in his muscles. Oh, he’ll have to stretch a little before they head out. “Maybe you can call your apprentice up too,” he said with a flick of his tail as he padded out of the den. “More paws on deck and all.”
@nettles
Jacques || in sea of pickleweed near Needle and Rope
((i know jacques is pronounced “jacks” but i keep hearing “jack-wese” in my head T.T))
It was after missing a particularly tricky newt when Jacques saw them. The other cats. Both had bright markings, one a neon green and the other an electric blue, both distinct from the dull green of the marsh. How unfortunate, Jacques thought in amusement. Then, of course, because he was a jerk, slowly crept along the taller plants so that he could creep up right behind them, waiting for a few heartbeats before poking his head through the grass.
“Boo.”
Leafriver || in medicine cat’s den
Leafriver was exhausted. They had been up nearly counting their herb stocks, trying to calculate how much more they’d need. The last few nights their den was filled with injured and tired cats, most still bitter and snappy as they tried to tackle as many as they could. They could only thank Starclan that they had Batwing by their side - with Treebitten gone, their paws felt all the more clumsy.
They picked through the remaining glasswort. Maybe they could ask for a herb patrol -
Just the thought made their heart clench. Who would they ask? Usually Tangledthrush organized things like that. They sighed heavily, then held their breath, not wanting to wake their denmate.
Tangledthrush || in sweet fennel camp
((hehe, with our solid handful of loners tangledthrush might find herself doing some recruiting))
Tangledthrush groaned as she twisted in her makeshift nest, each muscle screaming in protest. She slowly sat up, looking around at their tiny, hurriedly-scrapped together camp, and felt her heart hurt all the more. These cats deserved better than this. Why did you follow me? she thought desperately, not for the first time.
Finally, she made herself lift herself to her paws. She should do some hunting, bring back some fresh-kill for her clanmates. It was the least she could do. With that, she headed into the sea of pickleweed.

(this rp but literally every character pronounces jacques name completely differently) Pondfrost - w/ Brackishclaw/Turtlepaw - willowflower, highprince"I'll check on her. She probably wouldn't want to be left in camp to sleep all day, anyways." Pondfrost gave an amused twitch of her tail, thinking of her hot-headed apprentice. More like a snapping turtle than anything else, she thought, as she trotted out of the warriors den. She walked to the blueblossom bush opposite of the warrior's den, keeping her pawsteps soft to avoid waking anybody else who wanted a bit more sleep. She stuck her head in, scoping out Turtlepaw, before leaning forward on her long legs and giving the apprentice a small prod of her nose. "Turtlepaw? You up?" She spoke in a semi-soft tone. "Brackishclaw wants you up." She added with a small hum, giving the apprentice a slightly harder nudge. Needle and Rope - w/ Jacques - willowflowerNeedle didn't even speak when the russet tom poked his head out. Instead, his fur immediately bristled out like a giant porcupine as he whipped around, his claws unsheathing as he swiped out in the direction of the voice, before even really processing where the other cat actually was. Rope had already stood, and while he hadn't taken the sudden intrusion as aggressively as Needle, his fur had fluffed a bit more than usual. He didn't unsheathe his own claws, already expecting Needle to handle. He was closer, anyways.

Batwing with Leafriver || Medicine cat's den
Batwing stretched as he woke up, staying in his nest for a moment and wishing he could go back to sleep. It was so peaceful when he was asleep, no spirits with distorted faces or, even worse, impatient clanmates overworking him. He knew that it was his responsibility to heal them, but he wished they weren't so snappy.
As he came fully into reality, he heard someone in the den. He couldn't quite tell who it was, but he assumed it wasn't anything he needed to worry about. "I'm up," he yawned, arching his back. "Up and ready to start the day."
willowflower
Turtlepaw with Pondfrost || Apprentice's den
Turtlepaw blinked sleep out of her eyes as Pondfrost nudged her into the waking world. She forced herself to her paws, shaking herself out to get her blood flowing. She was quiet for a moment while she registered what her mentor had told her. "Brackishclaw?" She groaned, thinking about the large warrior, "what does Brackishclaw want me for? They're not my mentor." Turtlepaw liked him well enough, but she didn't appreciate being woken up so early.
@nettles
Virgil || Sea of pickleweed/the water's curve
Virgil sat down, breathing heavily. He'd been trying to hunt for a long time now, but everything slipped away from his paws. Maybe he was too big and clumsy to catch anything, or maybe he just didn't know the best way to hunt. Either way, a frog had just hopped away from his claws, leaving him tired and hungry. His stomach ached, and all he wanted to do was sink his teeth into something. He knew he couldn't stay in one place for long, though, so he stood and continued moving.
As he made his way through the pickleweed, Virgil found the edge of the water. He breathed a sigh of relief, and his stomach made its hunger known. He sat by the edge of the water, and as he watched, the shadow of a fish moved beneath the surface. He swiped at it with his paw, but it slipped away from him, swimming away to where he could never hope to get it. "Fox-dung!" he cursed loudly, unable to believe he'd missed yet another meal.

Pondfrost - w/ Turtlepaw - highprince"Wants more paws helping out in the morning. It's nothing serious." Pondfrost assured her, withdrawing backwards from the den so Turtlepaw would have room to exit. "We can see how your hunting is coming along today. It'd be nice to relax a bit, don't ya think?" Pondfrost had certainly had enough of fighting for a bit. Spending the day hunting and would be a wonderful change of pace. Besides, it wouldn't be good if Turtlepaw fell behind on her hunting practice.

Turtlepaw with Pondfrost || Camp
Turtlepaw blinked as she stepped out into the sunlight, nodding towards Pondfrost as she spoke. "That makes sense. It's always good to help out," she agreed, looking out to the edge of the camp. Now her paws itched to get out and get some prey. "It's fun to hunt. One day I'll be the best hunter in the clan, I think," Turtlepaw decided, confident in herself. Just the other day, she'd said that she would be the best fighter in the clan, too - but she saw no reason why she couldn't be both. She might even be leader one day, if she was already going to be the best at everything.

((jacques introduces himself with a different pronunciation each time also turtlepaw i support u))
Leafriver || in medicine cat’s den with Batwing
“Ah,” Leafriver said, turning towards the sound of Batwing’s voice. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to wake you.” They set down the glasswort they were counting and padded over to Batwing’s nest. “You deserved some rest after all that’s happened.” They looked back over their shoulder at their herb stocks. “But, if you’re up, I might as well let you know - we’re getting low on stocks, so I’d like to head out and gather some more. I’d also like to get one or two warriors to come with, but…” they looked rather helplessly at Batwing. “I’m not sure who to ask.”
highprince
Brackishclaw || in camp with Pondfrost and Turtlepaw
Brackishclaw snorted from behind Turtlepaw, having just padded up to the two cats. “You’d have to train a lot harder to claim that title, shorty.” His lacked any real malice as he looked around at their meager group, then back at the elder’s den with a small frown. “When do you think a new leader should be chosen?” he said, lowering his voice a bit. “Ol’ Cypresstail for one hasn’t made a peep. Won’t even leave his den.” Brackishclaw looked over at Pondfrost and Turtlepaw, feeling a little uncertain about the next words out of his mouth, but spoke them just as bluntly. “Do y’all honestly think we should have an elder for a leader again?”
@nettles
Jacques || in sea of pickleweed with Needle and Rope
Jacques playfully leapt backwards out of the way of the loner’s swipe, admiring the bristle of one of the loners’ spiked fur. So that’s how this one finds protection from the predators, since hiding from them seems rather difficult. He is tempted to poke, just to see how sharp those points were. “Hey there,” he said, slipping on a smile that was meant to be charming but was more amused that anything else. His whiskers were still twitching. “Didn’t think I’d stumble onto a couple of strangers so soon! What a lovely day we’re having, isn’t it?” He laughed at how on-guard they were. “Relax, relax! I’m not looking for any trouble. Just thought I’d have a little fun. Dreadfully dull when one is on their own, don’t you think?” If he had a hand he would've stuck it out for them to shake. "Name's Jacques. Jacques for short. What about you lovely cats?"
Tangledthrush || at water’s curve with Virgil
Tangledthrush had found herself met with a couple of catches, a couple of losses. Getting used to the swampy water of the pickleweed was a bit of a learning curve that she struggled with over the last few days, finding more luck in fishing at the Water’s Curve. She did manage to catch herself a tiny newt that she scarfed down at once, though it had been small and slow and could barely feed a weaned kit. She found a luckier catch in a frog, though the size was still disappointing. This one she buried to pick up later.
She headed over to the Water’s Curve at last, green stripes blending in with the pickleweed, planning to do a little fishing before heading back to camp with her early morning catches. With any luck, her clanmates would just be barely stirring.
To her surprise, she saw another, unfamiliar cat already hovering over the water, dabbing a paw in and looking rather frustrated. Her first instinct was to confront, then drive away from her territory - but she stopped short. What territory? Her clan’s she just left. The sea of pickleweed was fair game. A frustration burned in her, but slowly eased when she watched the unfamiliar cat struggle to fish, replaced with a curiosity. Hmm, she thought, gazing at the stranger. Interesting. She used her trained skills to silently sidle up to the strange cat, until she was right next to him, watching as he swiped unsuccessfully at the shadow of a fish under the water. “You’ll never catch anything if you keep going about it like that,” she said abruptly.
((my cats just like to creep up on and scare other cats huh asdklajdksla))

Glassyfern|| Genderfluid (any pronouns) || 24 moons || Warrior Glassyfern is a slender, short-haired tortoiseshell cat with white eyes. [[ showbiz ]] Murkycloud|| Tom (he/him) || 35 moons || Warrior Murkeycloud is a skinny, gray tabby tom. Pondfrost - w/ Brackishclaw and Turtlepaw - willowflower, highprince"Oh, I think we need a younger cat in charge." It was almost startling how bluntly she answered, and she still kept her cheerful look as she spoke, though she tilted her head in a more thoughtful away. "All the older cats are so set in their ways. I don't think Tangledthrush went about it right, though." Pondfrost wasn't a gungho fighter, after all. She was a hunter, a tracker, and a mood lifter. Still, most of the current problems could be traced back to Marshstar's more questionable decisions. Besides, why dedicate themselves to a new leader who would die in a few seasons, anyways? Why not gather their energy around a younger, stronger leader who had moons and moons to go? Needle and Rope - w/ Jacques - willowflower"Don't care. Beat it!" Needle spat, refusing to sheathe his claws. As far as she was concerned, it didn't matter how non-threatening this other cat tried to act, he had to go now. She was surprised when Rope trotted over, looking curious. He leaned forward, mumbling into her ear. His words were sloppy and slurred, but she could get the basic gist of it, and she gave a sharp exhale. "Needle. This is Rope." She finally said, though her claws remained out. Rope gave a small wave of his tail in greeting, his expression pleasant. He was far less confrontational than his companion, and he didn't see why things should come to blows over a harmless prank.

((Turtlepaw should definitely be leader tbh))
Batwing with Leafriver || Medicine cat's den
Batwing was relieved that it was only Leafriver - they likely wouldn't be demanding faster or better healing from him. He nodded along to their words, one ear twitching when he heard about the low stocks. This wasn't a time that they could afford to run out of herbs. "Well, we should make sure we don't pick someone that's already busy," he sighed, knowing how much some warriors disliked having to accompany the medicine cats. "If we interrupt someone's hunting or training to come with us, they'll likely claw our ears off."

Turtlepaw with Brackishclaw and Pondfrost || Camp
Turtlepaw jokingly bared her teeth at Brackishclaw, by now knowing better than to fall for his teases. When he asked about the new leader, the short apprentice got excited. "Yes!" Turtlepaw nearly yelled, glad that Pondfrost agreed with her. "What's the point of having a leader that's going to die so quick, anyway? Plus, all the elders are so lazy. Cypresstail never does anything. I think that we should choose an apprentice as leader," Turtlepaw rambled, holding her head up high.

Virgil with Tangledthrush || Water's curve
Virgil nearly jumped in the air when another cat spoke next to him. He turned to her quickly, fur standing on edge. How long had she been there for? Had she seen his other failed attempts at catching prey. He looked up and down the tabby cat, but she didn't seem particularly aggressive, so he relaxed, if only slightly. "Oh, um, I was never really taught to catch fish," he admitted, lowering his head. "Never taught to catch anything," he added, speaking under his breath, half-hoping that the strange molly wouldn't have even heard.
