[[ Amber : No problem! I totally get the part about having kinda weak rp posts rn. I went ahead and included the part where they arrive in this post. Well, they aren't officially there, but hopefully it gives you a bit more to work with (:
also i don't remember if Lu had a cane or walking stick or something but if she didn't then i magically conjured one in this post ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Starchaser : It's okay! I ended this so we could skip to the morning, if you would like. Sorry this is so short, btw.]]
Lucrecia Zebrowska
"Oh okay, that's cool!" Lucrecia chimed, completely unaware of Avani's lie. "Let me know if you do dream anything interesting! Not that you need to, just it would be, well, interesting! Haha, sorry, that was kinda funny. Unintentionally funny. Like a joke that's so bad that it's kinda good, ya know?"
The shifter looked up at Avani and beamed. Lucrecia was just one of those people who always smiled, always laughed. Her laugh was not particularly pretty or anything. Lucrecia grew up hearing stories where the people's laughs sounded like bells or wind chimes. Hers was a joyous laugh from both the belly and chest, intermixed with guffaws and giggles. The word that her uncle used was "cachinnation," a word that itself made Lucrecia laugh. When struck with her look of confusion, Lucrecia's uncle recited the dictionary definition from memory, a peculiar talent of his. That made her laugh even more.
It was only a few more moments before the treeline cleared and Lucrecia found herself pointing towards the horizon. "Look, look!" she almost yelled, nudging Avani's shoulder as if the angel would not have otherwise noticed the giant city in the distance. "We are almost there!"
If it was possible, Lucrecia would be absolutely glowing. Sanctum was just as she remembered it, a shining beacon. So many of the buildings were tall and made of glass, the sort that reflected the sunlight and made the city truly glow. And yet the closest part of the city was all wood and cobblestone. The lake's mist weaved through its twisting roads. Lucrecia pointed again, this time at that particular district. "There it is! That's the Old District, where my family's tea shop is. Oh, and do you see, right there? That's the ferry. They'll take us directly there! I normally don't take it, just 'cause flying, you know, but if you want we can! It's really fun. I went once, with my uncle. It's so pretty!"
Lucrecia smacked Avani's arm, a gesture that Lucrecia herself did not really notice. She was just so excited! The shifter immediately picked up her pace, the uneven rhythm of her leg and then walking stick (literally, just a big stick) going unnoticed by the shifter. Whenever she saw Sanctum, she got overtaken by excitement. She was almost there!
Alexander Rojas Lopez
Again, Alex did not know what to say.
He hated that feeling, but there was nothing he could do about it. Alex just did not know how to react properly. He did not know whether or not to express his sadness at the idea of lovers dying separately or together because of their love. He did not know whether or not to explain how it seemed like a beautiful yet almost foolish idea (yet that was just because he came from a place with more political marriages than actual loving ones) or communicate why it was just so... horrible. Horrible and wonderful. So confusing.
Instead, all that came out was a mangled attempt at salvaging what little connection Alex had to Lilah. "It's an interesting idea."
The idiot. Why could he not be more specific? Alex meant the theory about an individual's immortality keeping their loved one alive, but looking back it was frustratingly obvious how it could seem like he was talking about Iurama overall or about the markings. And how his response could come across as pejorative. And how he could see bored by the subject all together. "One must speak clearly, thoughtfully. Not impulsively, like a child." Alex clenched his jaw again. He could hear the next part of his father's quote as clear as day: "Like a human."
"Ehm, we also have markings..." Alex trailed off. Why oh why did he feel the need to speak again. What in the world could be so important? The fool. "They are another way to identify someone's origins, although they are not the primary indication. One could see them as a confirmation of one's identity. Each one is unique to the individual, but each coven's markings share similar traits—"
Alex stopped there before he made more of a fool of himself. He had already spectacularly screwed up, he did not need to do so anymore. He waited for a few moments, dreading the inevitable. He had allowed himself to become far too casual around the human, far too impulsive. Childish.
"My apologies, you must be exhausted. I should have been more aware of that. If you would prefer to sleep now, I understand. In the morning we can make our way to the Sanctum, if that is your wish."
"If that is your wish?" What a fantastic way to end that disaster, Alexander. What a fantastic conclusion. Alex closed his eyes and went still again, gradually shutting off his senses again. He kept listening, although this time the world seemed quieter. Trying his best to calm down, Alex focused on remembering his home. The river's rumble, the cold stone, the age etched into the walls. The way the moonlight danced in the water, the way the setting sun glowed on the cliffs. What it felt like to jump into the gorge, the battering wind and the utter weightlessness of it all. Home, Alex repeated over and over in his head. Maybe, just maybe, he could convince himself that someday he would go back.

I think that it could work bringing in another person under an Elemental role. If Spider doesn’t come back than cool, problem solved. If Spider does come back, just reveal that the original prophecy members were twin Elementals whose powers mirror each other’s. Two people means two descendants, and two people that are distantly related. I think there is plenty of things an Elemental could do with Fire and Earth as a combo.
Maybe their powers could also draw in many of the elements, but in regards to the earth instead of sky. V can stormbend so new person can earthquake bend, bring plants to life through the use of Void, or cause eruptions of magma from the earth’s core. Or all of it. Just something to mirror what V already has established but not to overshadow him or anyone else.
Also, that allows growth for the new character if Spider doesn’t come back soon.)

{ Oh, I’m a sucker for long lost siblings, especially twins. I don’t know why, I love to make my characters twins.
Also, I like the idea of them have more opposing powers and I think it would work fine. I know there are a lot of combinations possible with this set up, I was just still worried about it not being enough of a difference. I think them both having a lot of control over the classic elements, but geared towards different powers still would be cool, so good idea. Just as long as the new person is cool with their powers basically already being decided.
Anyways, working on responses. }

{ @shootforthestars Yeah, I get it. This year has been... chaotic.
I love all your headcanons and ideas! That matches pretty well with what I already imagined for Shifters and Belua, but you explained it really nicely and expanded on it. Basically, I have nothing useful to contribute, but it's all very cool.
I also love how Zane can't really lie. He just doesn't have it in him, I guess. }

[[ I love that idea Shoot! I can't think of any holes that could create any new problems, so I am really happy with it.
Also I like Star's idea to let them both have basic control over the elements with a speciality geared towards the earth. I think that would work very nicely. It might be hard to find someone who is willing to just take a spot with those powers, but it's definitely still possible.
On that note, I think we might want to include a joining form on the main page for the new person. We should also probably do a bit of clean-up (just add an about section or put something in the about section spot, and add an image for the elementals), but honestly that is just me being a perfectionist. x.x ]]

{ mossecho That is the main problem I foresee, since their powers and potential backstory are partially decided already. If we can't find someone who wants to, one of us could create another character, but if nobody wants to do that either than I wouldn't mind filling in the role. I just thought it would be easier and more interesting with another person. I do have a friend that would probably be interested though, if nothing else works out.
Yeah, you have a good point. I've been meaning to clean the page up for a while now, I'm just lazy.
Also, working on a Lilah response, I've just been really slow. }

Starchaser Sorry this is a bit short. I kind of ran out of things to say because I didn't want to leave Zane behind. XD)
Clarisse Alinsky “The sun watches what I do, but the moon knows all my secrets.” - J M Wonderland ✶ ⤐ ☾ ⬷ ✶
As the light beamed through the thin cloth, Clarisse watched as the male werewolf bolted up at her voice. The Alpha was my uncle. Teeth flashed when he whipped around to face her. Before we were destroyed... The fear in his eyes betrayed a troubled and scarred past before they settled into understanding of where he was. She lowered her head as his cheeks burned with heat, mostly to show him that she understood the reaction.
Instinct. I guess I'm still stuck in the rouge mindset.
Clari gave a sleepy half smile, "Not a problem. Can't say I understand, but I will say that when I was younger, I had trouble sleeping. I screamed because I didn't want to sleep, I screamed all night in my sleep, and I screamed anytime someone tried to wake me up... Took me a while to retrain myself too."
In her early years, nothing had given her more anxiety than bedtime. Sleep, allusive and fleeting, had been plagued with nightmares that kept her from resting at all.When she finally did drift off into a semi peaceful dream, she slept so hard that her parents had struggled to wake her. None of the elders or healers had ever diagnosed or solved the problem; it had just simply faded away as she got older. Sometimes, she would wake to tear streaked cheeks and kicked off sheets, Devon curled up at her side in an effort to comfort her. It was part of the reason why the prophecy nightmares had been so dully noted and so easily treated with merrymint.
Scooting out of the way so Zane could get around her to see, Clari set out to find her luggage. She listened and watched as she took out a hairbrush and toothbrush and set to work on readying for the day. There would be a chance to change into nicer clothes and put on that Rafe awful cosmetics that her mother pushed on her, but right now was for simple hygiene.
At his voice, she finished brushing her short hair and teeth and moved to crouch next to time. She bumped up against him to see what he was looking at. One eye on the boats and one eye on his reaction, Clari smiled, "Interesting indeed. The ferry ride is only about an hour so we'll be in Sanctum within two. Come on. Let's get out there and help the pack load up."
She padded his back good naturally before sliding out of the cart itself. Clari pushed back the flap and embraced the warmth of the sun as she stretched her long limbs. The hours in the cart hadn't been good on her joints; she preferred sleeping in her lupine form on road trips because the grass or snow was always softer and her pack mates were always warmer.
"Oh, you're up."
Clarisse looked to her left with a smile, unsurprised to see the red head and lean body of Redis. He was younger than her thought not by much at twenty years, but his built kept him from looking the part of a man. Ever since they were young, he had been lanky and awkward. She had hoped for his sake that he could grow into himself, but it hadn't happened yet. "Yeah, sorry if we slept too long."
He shrugged slim shoulders and returned her smile as an awkward half one of his own, "Alpha Irene just sent me to get you up because we just arrived a few minutes ago." He nodded his head once like he was pleased with himself and after a moment of silence, pursed his lips shyly, "I watched you sleep last night - well not like that! As I pulled the wagon, I listened to your breathing to make sure that the loner didn't do anything. Oh dang, I sound creepy. What I mean to say was that I -"
Clarisse couldn't help but chuckle and pat him on the back. He took the hits with a grunt and a blush, "Glad to see that someone was looking out for me. Thanks, Redis."
The younger male nodded once and scuffled off when she turned to peer back into the wagon to call for Zane once more. From behind her, there was a short clip of laughter from some of her pack mates and a quick hush from the red headed male. Clarisse smiled as she said, "Meet me at the front! They are about to push the wagon onto the ferry and you won't want to be in it when that happens."
Not when the mages were sealing up their valuables with Anima magic. She took off in that direction to find her mother and father. She could wait for him to trail behind.

{ @shootforthestars No worries, mine is short too. I'm honestly not entirely sure what to do with him, so I figured I'd let you have Clari talk with her parents and then continue onto the trip or something. I don't mind if Zane gets put more on the backburner in your posts anyways, especially when you want to move things along or whatever. }

[[ Starchaser: Okay I know before even writing this that this post will be short. I don't know really what sort of a response to write. ]]
Alexander Rojas Lopez
Alex stood at the top of the hill, hands tucked into his pockets. The sun was still emerging in the east, warm light painting the grasslands. The wind had died down gradually overnight, but there was still enough of a breeze for the grains to dance in the golden air. Alex felt the occasional grass brush his pant leg, but he kept himself looking straight towards the water.
Morning haze coated the lake. It was slowly dissipating, had been for maybe about an hour now, but the gray over blue was still unmistakable. There, across the water, was the city. It glimmered, blue and silver now awoken by the gold. The city from this distance should not have been so clear, but the rest of the world was still. If Alex really tried, he could hear the locks unlocking and doors opening. There were ignited gas stoves, expensive perfumes, fresh clothes recently ironed. The city never truly slept, but it was certainly awakening. None of the sounds or smells were particularly clear, the distance dulling them, but they were all Alex really needed. There it was. He was so close.
Yet for all that, Alex felt like it was still so far. So distant. He could not believe he was actually there, gazing across at this city. Even if he managed to live for centuries now, Alex would never have come this close if it had not been for misplaced markings and clear dreams.
Alex turned around when he smelled magic. Lilah was making her way up the slope, although she was a bit too close. Huh. Alex had been so immersed in his thoughts that he had not noticed her approach earlier.
"Good morning," he said plainly. "I trust you are well?"
There you are, messing up again. Awkward questions and horrible introductions. At least you are a consistent mess. Alex picked up his bag and slung it over his shoulder. He held out his hand and stepped aside, as if presenting the view to Lilah. "I checked the postings and the first ferry should be setting out in around fifteen minutes."

{ mossecho Mine is short too, but here ya go. It's a bit of a boring, directionless mess too because, once again, starting out posts aren't my forte. Come to think of it, I say that about a lot of things, which I guess means I have no strengths in rp lol.
Sorry if I ever do too much in a post. I feel like I have a bad habit of not giving other people enough chance for input when I'm trying to get to a certain point, so if it's ever a problem with it, just tell me. I don't mind editing to let other people have more input in a post before I shove everyone off to the next scene.
Also, just in case you were wondering and it wasn't clear in this, I have never even seen a ferry in-person. So this is definitely wish-fulfillment, cause I always wanted to ride on one. Hence why I have no clue what I'm talking about, despite the fact that I both researched and watched videos on it. }

// Wooh okay I'll try to be concise; Firstly, of course, I have to sincerely offer many apologies for continuing to be a drag on this rp- though you guys seem to be doing great without me and I'm really glad! <3
// I'm sorry to say that I'll have to officially resign from it, however... though not technically for forever! I really really like writing with you guys and would love to continue but I'm just. Not in the right place right now? And it's entirely my fault for taking so long to just come out right and say it. I'm really really sorry for that! Not long after my last post, I was hospitalized for weeks and on my first day back my bosses fired me so I needed- and still need- to find a new job to pay my hospital bills and yada yada- I've just not been really faffing about online due to stress and other irl things- sorry my life isn't really all bad! Bad things just seem to have the most impact... ^^"
// As for Vivi, you could have him die offscreen or just not address him until whenever? I hope to get my life back on track before you guys finish but you never know ^^" If you intend to keep him around, I had a vague idea about him being an unknowing late-season antagonist- but of course all of that will have to wait until I catch up and find what's most probable, I totally don't mind if you're too far in/would rather keep your current number! ^^ If it comes to it I don't mind breaking off and writing something separate or just not writing at all if you guys would prefer it~! ^^

{ spiderlace While I’m sorry to hear all that, I absolutely want you to know that I hope everything turns out well for you and you get to a better place soon. Nobody blames you for dealing with a lot of real life problems, of course, and you don’t need to apologize for it.
Like it or not (I know I certainly would prefer to spend my time having nonsense fun on a cat forum, but maybe that’s just me), life problems take precedence over roleplays and online games. Basically, what I’m not wording very well but trying to get at, is that I understand. I’m sorry to see you go, but I wish you all the best in real life sorry this sounds like you’re leaving forever, not my intention
Anyway, it will depend how far we get, but I’m sure we can incorporate you in at least some way if we’re still continuing when you return (even if it’s small). You guys really all have been great, you’re basically my only friends, and I’d love to keep chatting and rping with you all. It was always my hope that we could continue after this with other rps, I have far far too many ideas, so I’d absolutely love to do more in the future if you guys like.
Okay, long ramble aside, I’ll summarize with saying that I’ll miss having you around in the rp for now, though it’s not something I want anyone to ever feel pressure about, and I hope everything works out for you soon. Please take all the time you need to deal with things and we’ll see you whenever you’re ready and able to be back on. Until then though, best of luck with all <3 }

Starchaser Yeah, that's chill. I can defiantly talk with myself until we get to a place where Zane is better fit. XD I'll try to incorporate him as best as I can though so that he isn't just stranded and you can't even remotely reply. I think it would be good to just get to Sanctum and then start back up with them exploring. Maybe they can get lost or purposely separated from the rest of the pack and they bump into Alex and Lilah? Or Avani?)
Clarisse Alinsky “The sun watches what I do, but the moon knows all my secrets.” - J M Wonderland ✶ ⤐ ☾ ⬷ ✶
The sun was high and reflected off the water as she approached her parents. Baggy and unassuming clothes showed how little she cared to make an impression when she entered Sanctum lands, and the dark circle under her eyes revealed her need for sleep. Her mother, always miss pristine in the mornings, looked at her with the distaste that Clarisse had come to expect. It wasn't that she didn't have nicer clothes or that she didn't feel comfortable in such garments, but she just didn't care about much about her appearance. Clarisse had been built up enough as a pup that she knew that she could command a room while wearing sweat pants.
So Clari ignored the click of her mother's tongue and her father's look of exasperation and hugged each of them. Morning embraces were common place among family units and close friendship circles in First Pack; it was such a habit that she had restrained herself from hugging Zane when she slipped out the cart this morning. And Redis... well, she didn't want to give him any false hope.
"Good morning, Mama. Good morning, Papa. I didn't mean to sleep so long. What did we miss?" Honeyed eyes like her own reflected back at her with curiosity at her use of we. Clarisse smiled at her father and said. "Will we be hunting when we get to Sanctum or will be be visiting these food stalls I hear so much about?"
Irene rubbed at the space between her eyes, "Did you know that Redis refused to rest last night because he was convinced the dog would kill you? None of us slept last night except you and your toy, Clari."
"Irene." Her father's lips pulled back in a snarl. A warning.
Clari looked away. So they've talked about it. Goodie. She decided not to engage with the insult since Zane was standing close enough to hear what she had heard. "Redis made a big male decision last night; it had nothing to do with the fact that we have a new pack mate. You know he's been smitten since we were pups... Anyways, you gonna answer about the food? Zane's starved."
The Alpha female made a move to snap something back, but another look from her father had her grinding her teeth. Instead it was Myrek that responded, his tone much calmer, "We'll find something when we get there. He isn't the only one that is hungry around here. Tell him to have patience.'
"Noted." Clarisse stood for a moment, her request on the tip of her tongue and yet unable to bring herself to ask. Myrek’s eyebrow went up at her indecision, but his curiousity dissolved when she cleared her throat and declared her exit. “Well, then. We’ll be up front. Come on, Zane.”
And as her daughter pulled the male away to go sit with the others at the front of the private ferry, Irene watched with extreme distaste. Dark eyes narrowed onto the male’s scarred arms, Redis’s too small shift revealing the hard lines of a rouge's lifestyle.
“I don’t trust him, Myrek.”
“Irene, we already talked about this last night-”
“I know, I know. I just can’t shake the feeling that I’ve seen him somewhere... He looks so familiar, but I can’t put him fingers on it.” The older female bit down on the fleshly bit of her finger tip. “And it angers me that Clarisse is so infatuated with him. She was suppose to be proving her dedication to us and this is the kind of stunt she pulls? She’s so stubborn and pig headed and-”
Myrek chuckled, “And exactly like you, magpie. You weren’t any better when we were young. Don’t you think you’re judging her a bit too harshly?”
Despite herself, Irene blushed furiously at the old pet name. He hasn’t used in the term since the hard times had begun; he simultaneously hated and adored the term endearment. And it wasn’t like he was wrong either which was possibly the reason why Irene so desperately wanted Clarisse to make better choices and settled down quickly. The Mating Union had mellowed her out over the years, making her wiser and more understanding of her past folly. Though harsh, the mother just wanted what was best for her pup. Irene couldn’t bare to see Clari hurt, or worse, killed by the newcomer because he was a pretty face with a sob story.
If she was to be Alpha, she would see more. It wouldn't do for her to pick up every stray that waltzed through their territory.
The taste of iron in her mouth stimulated enough of a reaction to calm her nerves from the present danger. Irene sighed through her nose as she pitched it with tender hand. “Don’t remind me. My mother was just as harsh with me, worse really, and I turned out fine. Clari needs some tough love; she isn't a pup anymore, Myrek. We can't continue to sit by while she does whatever she wants!"
For a moment, silence was the only responce to her statement. Myrek adverted his gaze to his splitting image, eyes sad and somber. They had tried every trick in the book to keep their daughter out of trouble, but despite their best efforts, she was wild through and through. Not a bad pup just... untamed. The Alpha had always thought that it would be a good trait for an Alpha to have, but stubbornness was a beast that wrestled against the strength of their traditions. This wasn't even the worst that she had done, but defiance was defiance. There was only so much they could let slip before she had to be punished.
He scratched as the beginnings of a beard and sighed. What do we do?
His thoughts were interrupted by the conductor announcing that the ferry was ready to depart. So instead of responding, Myrek placed his arms around his mate and lead her to their seats, a silent embrace and promise to revisit the conversation another time.
---
In the hour that they had been on the water, Clarisse had seen more of the ocean than she had seen in her entire life. Sitting across from Zane and next to a napping Redis, she gazed out at the sparkling water with a smile. It had been loud with joyous laughter and fun until everyone decided to drift off into dreamland. Only Zane and her father had stayed awake outside of Clarisse herself.
But those peaceful moments of sleep were fleeting as the conductor blasted the horn that signaled their stop. Clari chuckled as groans accompanied it. Redis awoke to her elbow between his ribs with a grunt, "Get up, lazy butt. We're here."
Rubbing at his face, Redis pried himself off the table and looked out the window to see the buildings and infrastructure of Sanctum. Even from the port, Clarisse noticed how industrial it was compared to the open expanses of Shifter territory. The pack wasted no time in unpacking the supplies and stepping into the city. It was busy with the Summit beginning tomorrow with every species imaginable milling around the docks and the food stands. The buzz of chatter brought a smile to her face.
Clarisse whistled as they walked through the crowd, heads turning to look at the small delegation of important Werewolves. She grabbed Zane's arm to keep him close to her, not wanting him to be lost in the middle of the controlled chaos. It didn't take them long to be pulled towards the delectable smell of food and order something with meat in it. Not picky, Clarisse started to tear into her portion once everyone received theirs.
She looked at Zane with a smile, "Eat up! I know you're hungry!" She chewed the mystery meat with gusto, eyeing his as well.

{ @shootforthestars Apparently I can only write one type of character, rip. Sorry to those that wanted there to be some variety lol
Oh, yeah, Clari does strike as the type to wander off on her own lol. I think having them run into Avani and Lu would work pretty well, then maybe the rest of them can meet up at... idk, the party? Since Avani can follow her stone's energy signature thing and maybe they'll somehow realize they're both part of the same prophecy.
Also, no worries about incorporating Zane too much. He can always just be chilling in the background, it doesn't bother me. }

[[ Starchaser: so sorry it took me basically forever to get a response up. at any rate: you have a ton of rp strengths.
Also, I've been on a ferry a few times over the years (I grew up by a large body of water, so sometimes we'd use that to get from one side to another). At least where I grew up, you had to pay for the ferry. No one used it for moving cargo, since it was a commuter ferry. Unless you count bikes, but I don't recall an extra charge... idk. We can just say that it's free in this world. The cargo fees would probably be enough to cover expenses, idk. ]]
Alex let her start walking first. He was too busy processing her response, trying to uncover what new mistake he had committed. Normally he could pick up on conversational pitfalls well, but somehow he had done something stupid without noticing.
He walked a few paces behind Lilah. Her words repeated themselves in his head: "we'll go with that, we'll go with that, we'll go with that. Sure, we'll go with that. Translation? How dare Alex presume that sort of thing. Alex kept his gaze on the ground in apology. He pulled down a cuff and tucked both hands behind his back, head bowed and shoulders slightly slumped.
Once they were close to the ferry station, Alex straightened up. Chin high, shoulders back, gaze up and steady. Alex walked faster until he was next to Lilah. Once they were shoulder to shoulder, Alex slowed to match her pace. His walk was smooth: heel to the ball of the foot, minimal bounce, as if gliding. "Apologies," he murmured once alongside Lilah. "It would probably be best that I appeared higher-class than I am. Forgive me."
Of course, no matter how important Alex pretended to be, his appearance only warranted more stares. The young vampire tried to ignore them, but that was near impossible. Perhaps someone more confident could, but Alex? He wanted to wilt underneath their weight, disappear into a shadow and never reemerge.
He took off his glasses and dropped them into his bag. They were too casual. Alex also rebuttoned his top button, adjusting his collar and then his cuffs. He did so as quickly as possible, not wanting to be too obvious (while being well aware that anything he did would be watched). Occasionally Alex would visually scan the crowd. Many were not looking, only a few were. Yet that was still too many.
Alex's mouth went dry. When Lilah spoke, he registered that she was speaking but failed to actually pay attention to what she was saying. It was a few moments after she stopped talking that Alex realized he had to respond, and a few more as he tried to rewind to what she had said.
"They must," Alex responded flatly. It was more to convince himself of that than Lilah. Then they are smarter than you.
The ship's horn blew. It roared in Alex's ears and the vampire reached up to cover them. Even when the sound stopped, the echoes continued rattling his head. Dear goodness. "I suppose that would be the signal to board," Alex wrinkled his nose and hissed as he spoke.
The vampire took a breath. "It will all be alright in the end," he insisted. He hoped.
[[ eh bleh that sucked, i'm sorry Star ]]

[[ hey spiderlace ! sending you all the virtual hugs
So sorry to hear about everything that is going on right now. Wish there was something I could do. If you ever need to vent and just rant at someone, I'm totally here. And, just echoing what Star said, it is perfectly okay that you haven't been active. Real life is more important than online games. I hope you don't feel stressed or guilty about not being active here (more virtual hugs). This is all just for fun. If you do not have the time, or are too stressed, or in any number of situations, we understand completely <3
Honestly I love the idea of Viv being an antagonist... he could defeat this group with social skills alone, honestly. I, like prob everyone else, am happy whenever Vivi appears and defeats everyone through competent social skills. Whenever you are ready (:
Also, Starchaser , I am so touched by your post. You are the absolute sweetest, and I am honored that you consider us friends (virtual hugs going your way too!). You are the sweetest person, I am so happy I get to rp and talk with you.
And, everyone else, that goes for you too. I am so happy that we are doing this, you have no idea. Virtual hugs to you all. ]]

{ mossecho No worries, yours is great!
Oh, jealous. I was basing this one specifically more on this one in NY, which doesn't cost anything. I figured travel to the capital might be considered important enough to not have to pay, but we could always say it's free for important events. Idk. Yeah, I figured that too, but I know that some can transport cars so I figured larger ones might have room for that type of stuff. This is also a fantasy world so... Magic did it. Apparently some of the ferries that take really long voyages even have rooms like cruise ships (just much smaller), which I think is pretty neat.
Alex, wait, she didn't mean it like that! Don't beat yourself up over everything, it hurts my heart So, uh, I think I am in love with Alex? Alex would be a peak best friend if only he were real <.< looking at you, Moss
Also, sorry for the out of place exposition about the bazaar stands and sellers, I just finally had a chance to put this bazaar generator to good use that I wasn't about to pass up. I got a little sidetracked near the end, but at this point it's probably expected. }

{ mossecho Aw, I'm really glad you feel that way too. I'm just really happy I decided to rejoin these forums and got to meet all of you. Alexander Rojas Lopez
Alex stood a few paces behind Lilah, back in the shade. He liked the sun to a certain extent. Sunlight had a certain beauty to it, especially around the end of the day. That said, it was a pain the rest of the time. Alex did not understand why anyone would want to stand beneath it.
Still, he could see the appeal of standing at the front of the ferry. Occasionally they would hit a rough wave and the spray would reach up the side of the ship, light droplets scattering across the deck. The mist was weaker but still present, intermixing with the sunlight.
"It is alright, I do not mind," Alex commented. "It sounds like a wonderful place, the bookstore especially. Perhaps we could visit there, if you would like. Still, the entire city fascinates me. I imagine you have many wonderful memories from there."
At the time, Alex meant that. Yet as they neared the Sanctum, his opinions quickly reversed. The ferry slowed and docked, but Alex just wanted it to turn around.
As they departed the ferry, Alex wondered if it was too late to go back home.
There was just too much. The sun was now high in the sky and everything was bright and dazzling. Not in the beautiful way, just in a way that made Alex want to hold up a hand to keep himself from being blinded. He tried to ignore his developing headache, the result of excessive light and sound.
The Sanctum was too alive. People rushed about, conversations quick and loud. Shopkeepers alerted passersby about new sales and new products and new everything. Everything was loud, obnoxious colors and even louder, even more obnoxious people. Alex tried not to curl his nose at the stench of the place. Bakeries smelled nice, but not when they were next to a spice shop, fish market, and above a sewer line. Then, of course, there were the people. Humans, sweaty and unaware of their horrible hygiene. There was no where to breathe, the streets were just packed. How did they survive here?
Lilah, on the other hand, seemed... happy? That was not the right word. Relieved to be back? Alex did not understand how anyone would want to stay in the city. I just want to get out of here. It was beautiful from afar and so much worse up close.
Alex shook his head when Lilah asked if he wanted anything. He did not respond when she offered to pay either. First of all, he was not sure if any of the shopkeepers would accept vampire currency. Secondly, that would be a challenge to her socioeconomic status. She was above him. Alex could not forget that, nor could he even suggest otherwise. Be respectful to your superiors.
And after all that, Alex certainly did not want to purchase anything from here. He had heard of haggling before, but... no. Back home, everything had set prices. There was a number and that was that. The products were exactly as they were promised. Even from a distance, Alex could spot plenty of problems: fraying shirt hems, a distinctly non-metal tang about a watch, stinking overpriced wine bottles. Alex let Lilah continue towards some magic shops but held back. Magic was fascinating, yes, but there was nothing appealing about capturing fires in a bottle.
Alex ducked into the shadows, trying to escape both the humans and his headache. He found himself in a bookstore. There were a few patrons patrolling the shelves, but it certainly was better than the street. Lilah had mentioned a bookstore back on the ferry, yes? This was certainly not it, but Alex understood why she would appreciate a bookstore. He appreciated the little sounds (a creaking floorboard, rustling pages, definitive drops of a book back onto the shelf). They did not mask the outside world (nor did the smell of old pages), but they helped. Alex whisked himself to the back of the store, deep into the history stacks.
He skimmed the shelves briefly before realizing that he had completely abandoned Lilah. Idiot! Alex shot outside, coming to a blurred stop outside the shop's doors. He made his way back to Lilah, weaving through the crowd with regretfully palpable disgust. Alex just wanted to go home.
"Pardon me. I am doing fine, there is no cause for concern," Alex lied. He was never a fantastic liar, but hopefully Lilah would not notice. Regular signs of lying were standing still, staring, unusual breathing patterns, and beating hearts, right? Well, standing still and staring were normal for Alex. He was not breathing much anyways (did not want to inhale too much so close to a dumpster), and he did not have a heart to betray him. Of course, you are horrible at keeping a steady voice. Alex tugged on his right cuff.
"Where would you like to begin?" Maybe he could shift the conversation.

Starchaser Sounds good! I'll have them go to the park and they can meet Avani there???)
Clarisse Alinsky “The sun watches what I do, but the moon knows all my secrets.” - J M Wonderland ✶ ⤐ ☾ ⬷ ✶
Mouth full of food, Clarisse looked up at him with chipmunked cheeks. Bright eyes blinked at him as she chewed and considered. She took a moment to peer around at the small portion of her pack. Redis with sauce on his nose and Fyn snorting at him trying and failing to lick it off; her mother showing a rare smile as her father snuck a kiss when he thought no one was looking; Emmett even seemed taken by their surroundings.
And even though she could see the appeal and the good in her pack mates, Clari understood his aversion to them. His reception had been less than ideal and it continued to be cold. She ripped at the last piece of her meat before saying, "Give them time..." She tossed the paper plate that her food had been on into a trash can, instantly hungry again. "Everyone is stubborn in the Alinsky Pack especially my parents. We all butt heads and get on each others nerves because we want the best for our family. Right now, they see you as a mystery; they aren't sure about your intentions."
Clarisse rubbed at the scars on her lips absent-mindedly, a habit that she had picked up right after she had gotten them. His proposition wasn't a bad one though it involved some maneuvering on her part. She was treading on thin ice with her parents so sneaking away was not an option if she wanted a home to return to after meeting the others. However, if he could wait until an evening meal, she could tell them that she was going hunting for the pack and use the opportunity to sneak away to try to find the others. It would be a small window, but it would be more time than her mother would allow.
As the group started to move towards the resting grounds, she looped her arm through the male's so she could whisper her plan, "I think that's a good idea, but not just to show them you aren't worthless. My papa loves deer. By loves, I mean will do anything I ask if I bring him a good kill and get this. I've heard that Sanctum has a unique species of them. If you surprised him with that, I think it would be an excellent gesture of goodwill. Not to mention the rest of the pack will enjoy a decent meal."
She nodded slowly as if it was the plan of a lifetime (though he had basically offered it all himself) and patted his arm conspiratorially. It would work as long as she didn’t get lost in Sanctum. And with the Summit being tomorrow, most people would be out and about today. She would have a better chance at finding her people with the bigger crowds. How to recognize them? That was the question with no answers to be seen. Of course, she had vague images of faces from her dreams and hallucinations, but it had been days since she had the first one. Clari worries her lip until she decided not to think on it anymore.
Besides, she would have more time to think when her father wasn’t staring her down.
Clarisse cleared her throat. I swear to Rafe, I’ll go insane if you’ve already busted the plan before it’s even begun. She tilted her head at him as they approached the resting places and shrugged her shoulder as if to ask what he was looking at her for. When he just sighed and returned to what he was doing, the werewolf groaned. He totally knows something’s up. How does he do that? Arfen’s eyes!
Clarisse didn’t let go of her new found friend when the Alpha’s led the small party into a hybrid building. She had heard of them before but seeing them up close was more glorious then she ever imagined. It was part hotel and part reserve with each ‘suite’ opening up to the natural world around it. Perfect for those that preferred both silk and grass, the hybrid buildings allowed for almost all shifting groups comfort. Though she figured most of her pack would choose to be outdoors under the moon and stars, she respected the fact that some of the elders would want a comfortable bed to rest their aching joints.
Their supplies were waiting for them when they entered the large suite area. The pack set to claiming space immediately, the territorial nature of werewolf kind coming out in the usual way. Even Clarisse declared her bed and her green patch of grass so that no one could take it from her. If they did, then there would be a fight on their hands and everyone knew that Clari didn't lose.
The twin scars on her face were proof enough that she didn't have any problem with pummeling someone that tried to mess with her.
In the hours that the sun had descended from the sky, they had explored Sanctum to its fullest. From the bazaars on the southeast end of the island to the large skyscrapers of the capital square, the werewolves had seen it all. And when they came upon the park that Zane and her had discussed earlier, Clarisse put her plan into action.
"Papa, I have a proposition for you."
Myrek's eyebrows shot to the sky. He gave her the look: the one that conveyed he knew exactly what she was up to and wasn't thrilled about it. But all it took was a pouty lip from his only daughter and a well placed tilt of her head to get him to look to the sky and say, "What do you want?"
Clarisse restrained her smile, "I want to go hunting for the pack. The park that we just passed is for Shifters, and I need to blow off some steam. I'm sure everyone would appreciate a good meal before the Summit tomorrow."
"There isn't a need for hunting right now, we have supplies -"
"Do you want to eat jerky for dinner when you could have a real meal?" Clarisse waited for a responce and when her father sighed, she smiled. Her ridiculous appetite had no doubt came from her father because he couldn't say no to fresh meat. It just wasn't in their DNA. "My point exactly. So I'll just take Zane and we can -"
"Hold on just a moment, pup." He held up a hand and instantly her smile turned into a disappointed scowl. "Don't look at me like that. You aren't going to sneak away with the new male. Your mother would be furious and I would be in the werewolf house for a week if I let you go alone with him."
"But-"
His hand pushed forward again and she stopped talking, "Let me finish. I don't mind you going with him as long as someone else goes with you. Oh, and promise me that you'll be back within two hours. That's the conditions."
Fair conditions, considering. Still, Clarisse rubbed at her scars and considered the implications. If she couldn't sneak away then she would be stuck for the rest of the trip in boring Summit meetings. What would she do then? Still, it was a start.
She squared her shoulders and nodded, "Then I'll take Redis. He's a good hunter anyway. Satisfied?"
"Satisfied. Two hours." Myrek grunted a laugh when his daughter pulled him in for a quick hug and watched as she dashed off to tell the red headed male that he was coming hunting.
Redis perked at the opportunity to get away with the female, barely blushing when she dragged him to where Zane stood. Clarisse put her arm around the two male's shoulders and chuckled, "The old male said yes! We have two hours to be back at the hotel with a juicy deer. You ready to experiencing hunting with a pack again, Zane?"

(Yikes it's been like two weeks since my last reply? Sorry about that everyone!)
"Of course," the angel hummed. She lightly laughed and nodded along. "Ja, I know vat you mean."
For the next while- Avani wasn't quite sure how long it was -the journey was made in a combination of non-stop chatter and brief bouts of silences between the pair. The angel enjoyed the conversations with her Shifter friend. She was the perfect person to speak with. Lucrecia offered an idea of what the world was like outside Heavenly territory, letting her know about Sanctum and life for Shifters. At least her life. As they contiuned through the small set of woods, the treeline visibly began to thin out.
"Look, look!" Lucrecia exclaimed. She poked Avani's arm, though was probably trying to reach her shoulder, which easily towered a few inches above her head. The angel looked to where the Shifter pointed to. In the distance, buildings rose into the sky. Avani's eyes widened as she stepped forward. They were too far away to make out any details, but it was clear the monsters of steel and glass were things to admire. It was Sanctum, as confirmed by Lucrecia's last words. Avani grinned. barely able to contain her own excitment.
"Ve're so close! Ve'll reach it in about half an hour I zink!" As they contiuned their approch, the bird Shifter pointed once more. She seemed even more excited than before. It wasn't surprising as she was pointing out the Old District where her family's tea shop was located. She contiuned to speak about the ferry, which would take them across. Avani glanced between where the ferry would dock and across the water to Old District. After a moment, she looked at Lucrecia who excitedly hit her arm.
"I like ze idea of ze ferry. I've never been on one before, so zis should be fun," she decided. With a spring in her step, the angel headed forward. She didn't move too quickly, making sure Lucrecia could keep up with her. It didn't take long to reach the dock. of the ferry. Or rather a few ferries. Behind a large building, which was likely the place to pay for tickets, were three docks for three ferries. One was empty, another was getting ready to depart, and the third looked like it was getting ready to load the next group on. With a small flutter of her wings, Avani could barely keep herself from rushing forward. As her excitment contiuned to grow, a thought caused the young woman to pause.
"You know vat, perhaps it vould be better if ve fly across. I don't have much money and I don't zink it's fair for you to pay for me. Besides, it'll probably be quicker if ve just fly," Avani pointed out.

{ mossecho Your posts are always fine, even if they aren't "up to standard"
Ugh. I honestly hate this, but I have clue what else to do, and I just want to move on to something better at this point. I feel like this is far too long without really contributing anything, I just have to stir up drama constantly, and I also wanted a way for Lilah to notice her House marking came back. Because Reasons.
Also, I don't get why I agonize over such unimportant things. Like where to have the family tattoo, for example. I picked the hand tho, cause that's where Mages usually channel their magic, so it's Symbolic.
Thus begins Moss's career as a mad scientist xD I have a really bad habit of always preferring/relating to fictional characters more than real people. I guess maybe because I get to see their inner thoughts and such? It's easier to know them. That's also probably why I have unrealistic expectations of what life and relationships will be like, alas. I always wanted one of those tight-knit groups of friends that are so common in stories. 'Twas not meant to be though.
Thanks <3 }

Love #symbolism
White lab coat, check that i got from a mortician and use to cosplay Osgood. Crazy hair, check. Test tubes, nope. Chemicals, nope. General insanity, possible check.
I get that and agree. I have a lot of trouble communicating with people if that wasn't already obvious, mainly due to anxiety and fun stuff like that. And yeah, I'd love a tight group of friends. I am actually close to people, but I always get nervous that I'm actually on the outs and they just tolerate my presence. That's not true at all, but somehow I convince myself that they're just being nice. and thus ends another one of Moss's Pointless Speeches About Stuff
now onto an unsurprisingly bad post! woot woot ]]
Lucrecia Zembrowska
Lucrecia was glowing. Not literally, she was not a Mage or anything, but glowing was the only adjective one could really use to describe her. Her smile dominated her face, the expression almost aggressive in its joy. The shapeshifter was standing on her toe. Lucrecia extended her arms by her sides and flared out her hands. She resembled a bird about to take flight.
"Yeah, that sounds like a good idea!" Lucrecia cheered, her voice as bright as her expression. "It's a fun flight! It's really pretty, I love it."
The shapeshifter came down from her one-footed relevé. The moment her foot was flat, Lucrecia fell forward into her shift. Quite literally, in fact. She just leaned forward and let gravity pull her down. As she fell, Lucrecia's body curled into itself and changed. Soon she was a small bird, flapping her wings furiously to keep from landing. Still, only one leg (that was never going to change), but that did not matter.
Lu righted herself in the air and began to fly towards Sanctum. The wind was a bit harsh on Lucrecia's tiny body, but she did not care. She tweeted and sang, hoping Avani understood her happiness. Lu took a quick glance back, looking at Avani. Her wings were so much bigger than Lucrecia. Well, everything about her was. Lucrecia was not even five inches—most of Avani's feathers were taller than her. Wow!
"You'll probably get there a lot faster than me, but that's okay! I can catch up! Or you could go slower, if you like. It's a really pretty view, you might want to enjoy it," Lucrecia called. Of course, it came out entirely as tweets. Could angels understand tweets? Birdsong? I'm sure she understood me. She's so nice and smart, she got it!
Lucrecia made a few spirals in the air, clearly enjoying herself. How could she not? It was so beautiful. As Lucrecia flew the wind got stronger and Lucrecia's joy dimmed a bit. It really took a nosedive when a huge gust blew her off course.
Lucrecia spiraled in the air, tumbling toward the water. She managed to catch herself before hitting the water, opting to stay low and out of the harsh winds above. She traced the sky for Avani, hoping the angel noticed where she had ended up.
Alexander Rojas Lopez
Alex stood beneath a storefront's overhang, arms crossed. It was a boarded-up space, but it was still obviously a speakeasy disguised as a closed-down store. That would have been funny, but Alex just could not bring himself to smile. Granted, he was generally not very happy on account of... everything. Alex bit his tongue, fighting to keep his expression neutral. There was just too much around him. Too many people, too much sunlight, too much noise. Too many smells.
For what it was worth, the bar helped with that last part. Musky smells emanated from the wood boarding up the windows. Those mixed horribly with the rich citrus floating out from the cracks of the building (Alex guessed that the bar owners had tried to cover up their drinks' smell with a large collection of lemon air fresheners). Still, Alex could smell traces of beer.
Alex watched Lilah at the tent. It felt rude, as if he was intruding on her space. The vampire moved his body so he was facing another direction, his shoulder rubbing against the wooden post and picking up splinters on the way. Alex hissed softly before biting his tongue again. He tugged on his left cuff and then pulled the splinters out, frustrated by this awful city.
As he picked the splinters out, Alex focused back on Lilah's conversation with the merchant. The noisy market made the words blurry, but Alex could still make them out. Besides, the merchant's sudden shift in tone was not subtle. Alex frowned, glancing over to see the merchant's wide eyes and Lilah's gaze turned downwards.
Once Lilah had walked over, Alex had successfully removed all the pesky splinters. He tugged down his sleeves again, unsure of whether or not to bring up the merchant's obvious shock. You should not have done that. Whatever happened to privacy? Goodness, Alex, you should be grateful that someone bothered to help you. Instead you just eavesdrop on their privacy.
"If that is what you would like," Alex responded. He tensed up a bit, unsure of himself. Then he tried walking and stopped. Alex, for all he knew he did not like this place, really had no idea where he was.
The vampire took a deep and mostly useless breath. "Forgive me if this is to forward," Alex whispered, half-hoping Lilah would not hear him. "I recognize this is not my place, but, ehm, the merchant you were speaking with appeared surprised. May I ask why?"
Alex dipped his head down, a sign he hoped Lilah recognized as deference. He really should not have asked it. Why oh why are you so stupid, Alex? What possessed you to ask that of all things? The vampire stepped away towards the bar, straightening himself but also clearly trying to put distance between the two of them. Alex took the chance to focus on the citrus and beer instead of his hundredth spectacular failure of the day.

{ @shootforthestars I'm so sorry this took so long and is short. I'm, as the kids say, straight up not having a good time. I also spent far too long trying to figure out the logistics of this type of thing, which seems unnecessary, but I found kind of fun. Not that I really did a lot with it, but ya know. Feel free to change things however you want though, like I said, I wasn't very inspired so this one is really lackluster.
That could work, I'm just not sure why they would be at the park. I'd say they could get lost and accidentally show up there, but I think the park would have to be closed off in some way to avoid the liabilities of non-carnivore shifters getting mistaken for prey. Maybe they can find them on their way back to the hotel?
Ooo, this doesn't really apply to what we're doing right now, but shifters that have smaller and/or prey-based animals probably have a rather different lifestyle than the other shifters. Can't believe I didn't think of it more before. I'll have to come up with some headcanons now. }
