with open / @ tags warrior's rest Lifting up his muzzle, the silver bengal closed his eyes as a breeze passed over him bringing the scents of the forest to him. It felt reassuring that everything would be fine. He let out a soft sigh as his blue eyes blinked back up and he glanced around the lake and it's quiet bank. Not many of this clanmates come out here, not that Moonspots blamed them. Many of their friends and family were buried here; but not Moonspot's parents. He wasn't sure where their spirits had gone to rest but wherever it was... it wasn't good. Panthershadow would know for sure... his brother was more connected to the clan's spiritual side than Moonspots could ever wish. Yet he knew that his brother would never seek out their parents, they were cruel and weren't pleased by Pantherkit's decision to follow the medicine cat path.
The war was still strong memory in so many; however, Moonspots couldn't help but find relish in the quiet that often overcame the warrior's rest. There were crickets chirping and every once in awhile, he would hear the water rippling as a fish came to surface or a frog jumped into the cool water.
with open / @ tags A soft yawn broke out from the reddish tabby's jaws. Berrylight was resting in the shade, not too far from the creek. The bubbling of the water just helped ensure that she still felt sleepy. She blinked slowly and looked around with hazy eyes, wake up Berry, a voice whispered, causing her to jerk in surprise before realizing nobody was there. Berrylight looked confused for a moment before she shook her head. She needed to stay more awake; her dreams felt so weird and vividly lately. Maybe it was due to the exhaustion. Lately the young warrior decided to know herself into more tasks; whether it was hunting, patrolling, cleaning the elder's den, or even offering to help train apprentices. The constants work was starting to stress her out. Now she was hearing voices? She really needed a break.

Loststar.
Once again the silver leader's nights had been sleepless, what few winks she had managed to steal were plagued with images of darkness and feelings of dread. Thus the scarred shecat approached the medicine cat at a steady pace, but this time not in search of herbs that might help her steal a half decent night's sleep, but rather in search of answers. Admittedly she was somewhat hesitant, knowing the grouchy Panthershadow had more than enough on his paws as it was, particularly given the recent birth of Cherrybright's kits, and the fairly imminent arrival of Morningfur's and Willowstorm's. Yet that inevitable fact was part of what felled her eventual decision to go in search of help, for if anything her dreams indicated were true, camp might not prove to be safe for too much longer. Despite the dread in her veins, the leader carried herself tall and normally. Though partially fearful her attempts at normality might be anything but, and the stiffness would only draw attention to her. But fortunately camp was largely empty that morning, and she doubted any cat would be brave enough to go querying about the leader's early morning venture into the medicine cat. Loststar approached the bramble thicket housing the clan's healers, and called softly into the darkness. "Panthershadow, I wondered if I might speak with you?" Her tone its usual calmness, nothing to give away the worry deep in her chest.
Panthershadow and Hazelpaw, Feathertalon and ~Skyblaze~ . Breezewillow.
Jaws parting in a large yawn, her fangs flashed in the early morning light as the calico warrior was roused from the depths of sleep. She stirred, half tempted to curl back up and snatch a few more moments to enjoy, but movement from outside the den told her cats were already up, and it would probably be a good idea if she decided to join the realm of the living. Stretching out, she lifted herself upright. Dodging carefully through the still sleeping forms of her clanmates, she was grateful to find the den at least at half capacity, which meant the hour wasn't too entirely outrageous unless someone had snuck poppy seeds into the mice. Out of the den she was blinded briefly by bright light, but quickly grew accustomed as she cast a gaze around the camp. In search of the deputy who might offer orders for the mornings tasks, but she wasn't able to spot the warrior. Instead the warrior found herself a comfortable spot to soak in some of the warmth morning would offer, and wait until she could make herself somewhat useful. Open, @tags. Flamehowl.
Settled in the shade of a stray oak tree near the warrior's den, was Flamehowl grooming his thick coat. His sleep had been brief and unfulfilling, though that was nothing new - what was unusual to him, however, was the absence of warmth by his pelt. It had been the better part of a moon since he had... parted ways with Willowstorm - an event which still left his heart aching, and he hadn't spoken with her properly since. Flamehowl cast a glance in the direction of the nursery, only a couple of days ago had Cherrybright welcomed new faces into the clan, the warrior elected to carefully keep his distance. He of all cats wasn't permitted in that den right now, and he didn't any attempts to offer congratulations would only be met with claws to the ears. The isolated tom had never felt exactly at place within clan's camp, but now without the cheery face of the beautiful shecat near him, Flamehowl felt lonelier than he ever had done. It was for the best, was a mantra which had been repeating in his head pretty much ever since that day, but his hurting heart wasn't quite easily as convinced. He kept his distance, something he was pretty sure the shecat wasn't about to disagree with, and tried to continue on with clan life as he would normally have done. Though nothing felt normal any more, it hadn't done in a long time for the older warrior, he kept himself to himself and did what he could for his clan. Now he waited patiently for orders, a hunting patrol to lead, a border patrol to work with, anything that might have kept his paws busy and his mind off... that. Open, @tags. Wolfshadow.
In the depths of a patrol was a cat who would rather have been just about anywhere else, eager to get things over with. Whilst at the best of times the handsome tabby was more than willing to work for his clan, today was the warrior's first day back in duties. He had been permitted a brief reprieve to spend with his mate and new family, but that was over and as usual he had been dragged from the warmth of his nest for an early morning patrol. His kits weren't even two days old yet, and despite being in the heart of camp as far as the thusfar proving to be quite protective father was concerned, they might as well be in the heart of a fox's den without him there to keep an eye on things. The warrior paused in his musings, ears twitching forward he caught sight of a small thrush pecking about on the roots of a nearby oak tree. He departed from his group wordlessly, paws antsy and seemingly not under the gruff warrior's control. Wolfshadow attempted patience, his breathing steady and hunter's crouch well practiced. But he lunged a beat early, falling short as he scrambled to fix his mistake at the last heartbeat, but it was already too late. As with a sharp chirp of alarm, the thrush took flight skyward, leaving the massive warrior in even a worse mood than he had been. Lashing his tail in defeat, the warrior returned to the depths of his patrol almost daring anyone to mention his failed attempt. It'll only take longer if you keep tripping up, the warrior tried to remind himself, but even his own thoughts fell on deaf ears. Open, @tags. Shadekit.
Curled up in the ginger belly fur of his mother was a barely two day old kitten, a little shadow against the bright colours of his mother's silky underbelly. The innocent creature lay unware of the world, sleeping but without dreams, for his eyes were yet to even part for the first time. All he knew were the comforting sounds of his mother's purr, the sweet taste of milk, and the occasional kick from his sister beside him. Peace was all he knew in those early days, though it wouldn't be long before he found the mischievous streak most kits took on at one time or another. For now, however, he was a sweet little creature. A yawn parted his lips to reveal a fangless mouth, the tom nuzzled closer to the queen with a quiet mewl. Nosing around until he found his desired destination, and beginning to nurse with a hunger reserved only for tiny kits, though with a determination of a warrior ten times his size. Cherrybright and Dapplekit, ✨ nissabug ✨ . Getting up some starters

Cherrybright
Cherrybright laid in her soft mossy nest as she fed her kits, watching them with sleepy, half-closed yet contented eyes. She would have slept longer if not for the kittens' mewling cries for milk this morning. It was no different than the kits waking up before the crack of dawn when she was still pregnant, she guessed. The idea that something that had been inside her was now outside her was kind of weird, but she wouldn't miss having her kits right at her side for the world. The kneading of tiny claws in her stomach was also kind of weird, and very uncomfortable, but a couple of days in and she was already getting used to it. She purred as Shadekit started to nurse as well, and she bent down to lick the top of their heads. They didn't really have personalities yet, but she could already tell some differences between them. Although it wasn't on purpose, sometimes Dapplekit would bump into Shadekit trying to get to the milk, or he would paw at Dapplekit's face as he crawled closer- not like either of them cared, but it was quite the entertainment. Which she definitely needed as she was cooped up in the nursery this morning. At least Wolfshadow would, hopefully, be back at camp soon.
Dapplekit
Dapplekit had been going for the milk before Shadekit had. She didn't mewl or cry very loud, but she still showed quite the eagerness as she kneaded at her mother's belly. Occasionally she would get so excited she'd detach and have to start all over again. She couldn't see very much but knew there was a big warm body and a smaller, wriggling body next to her, and that was all she needed right now. As the queen brushed her tongue over her head, she let out a squeal, a mixture of excited and surprised. But there was no time to worry about that; she simply continued on her quest for more milk.

((aether sure thing!
the deputy plot sounds cool, necrodancer! a small murder mystery mayhaps? also, does whisperpaw have a mentor assigned?))
Whisperpaw
The pale tom lay contorted in his nest of soft moss for a while longer than he probably should've, his nose buried under his tail. Images of his nightmare danced before his eyes as he stared determinedly at the den wall, refusing to close them lest he somehow lose himself once more in the dark visions. Usually dreams faded, melting in the face of consciousness like frost under the morning sun, but the visceral picture of blood and cat limbs detaching from their bodies lingered, and it frustrated how terrified it made him. The dream wasn't real, it didn't even make any sense, being chased around a massive version of camp by a being of shadow and claws? He was pretty sure at one point he turned into a squirrel. It was ridiculous. He shouldn't take the dream seriously at all. He should stop thinking about how when he finally caught of glimpse of his murderous pursuer, he only saw himself.
He could hear the shift of his fellow apprentices about him, listening closely to the padding of paws leaving the den. Whisperpaw should really do that too. Get up, talk to his mentor, join a patrol. Stop laying there frozen as if moving would make his dreams any more material.
He took a few deep breaths, gathering all his will, and hauled himself up to a sitting position. Stars, he was tired. It felt as if he'd been running around camp all night. Why did dreams have to be so exhausting? Whisperpaw shook himself out, slowly and methodically cleaning the bits of moss clinging to his pelt, and dragged himself out from the cluster of roots that made up the apprentice's den. He winced at the bright sunlight, and slowly looked around camp. There were a few cats out - he wondered if a patrol had already been sent out yet. He'd really like something to take his mind off of his dream. Whisperpaw should ask. He noticed Breezewillow sprawled comfortably in a patch of sunlight - the calico she-cat intimidated him less than the other warriors, which of course didn't do anything to quell his nervousness about talking to another cat as he inched up to her.
"...Did morning patrol get sent out already?" he asked, mew quiet and oh wow was it hoarse. Whisperpaw could only imagine how haunted he looked.
Creekwatcher
Creekwatcher thoroughly enjoyed her sleep that night. She awakened nice and slow, gold eyes a slit as the morning rays creeped into the elder's den. Then she luxuriously stretched out in her nest, letting out a satisfied groan as she flexed her claws and arched her back. Then she rolled onto her belly, curled up neatly in her nest, to very meticulously clean her fur and nibble her claws clean. Any ticks today? She observed one on her hindquarter with some distaste. Ah, what unfortunate apprentice would accompany her today?
Some food in her belly would be lovely, she decided. "What a morning, 'mm Coalwhisker?" she grunted to her fellow denmate, creaking to her paws. "I'mma grab ourselves some grub. Something real juicy." And while her joints ached, she always considered a nice walk to be vital in keeping her limbs working. A nice, short walk to the fresh-kill pile.

Shadekit.
The tom kit let out the closest thing to an annoyed grumble that a kitten of his size could emit, in short it sounded like little more than a dissenting squeak. But at only two days old he was beginning to get used to it, even if he disliked the odd feeling the rasping sensation it left on his fur, the large milk provider seemed to insist on doing it incessantly, and there wasn't really much he could do about it at this size. Her merciless nature cared not for his mewls of annoyance. But as her tongue rasped across the dark fur of his face, it brought a reaction even the kitten hadn't expected. His eyes blinked open, however briefly, leaving the tom yelping in surprise at the brightness, and snapping them shut instantly once more. Snuggling close to his mother for comfort, seemingly having scared himself out of his skin. Cherrybright and Dapplekit, ✨ nissabug ✨ .

Panthershadow » Once again boredom pricked at Panthershadow's paws, and it took everything in him to not take off to the nursery for the second time in a matter of what had to be only an hour. Despite the recent arrival of Cherrybright's kits and the oncoming litters of both Willowstorm and Morningfur, the dark furred tomcat knew it would be too much for him to constantly check in on the queens, but the peace within the Clan had him bored, and that was the last thing the tom wanted to feel.
With a sigh he scanned his eyes over the pile of herbs in his stores. He had already scoured the territory for herbs and remedies, gathering as much as he needed at the moment - anymore and he'd only be wasting precious materials he could use for later. He huffed. Not even restocking his supplies was in the question since he had no supplies to restock. Panthershadow didn't wish for anymore war or pain for his Clanmates, but he wished to StarClan that something would happen so that he could busy his paws and mind with work.
It wasn't long before pawsteps nearing his den caught his attention. "Thank you, StarClan," he breathed, ears angling forward as he pushed himself to his full height, Loststar's voice now ringing into the subtle darkness of his den. "Come on in," he called out to the leader. "StarClan knows I've got plenty of time on my paws for talking."

Loststar.
Pushing aside any concerns that might be lingering that she was overreacting, that past experiences had made her think every shadow and odd tree root offered danger or fret, but if anyone could ease her worries, it would be the medicine cat. Even if the resssurances he could offer would mostly be in the same lane as reprimands and trading laughter, she would have much preferred that over being left alone with her worries. Relief tugged at her veins when she was welcomed by the tom cat, it even seemed that he was grateful for her presence. She entered deeper into the thicket den, tying to present herself as normally as she could managed, she smiled at his response. “Tired of queens complaining and fretting yet?” Recent moons had been peaceful, almost boringly so, and she couldnt imagine that made great entertainment for a tom used to moons worth of warfare. She was grateful for it, but even her own paws were itching for something in the way of action, even a particularly gruff rabbit would do. She felt like she was growing fat from the ease of life, and whilst that was by no means true, it didn’t mean she wasn’t bored. “Even you must agree Cherrybright’s little ones are fairly cute?” As adamant as she was to avoid motherhood, even Lstsar could agree the clans newest members had some merits. But the sweet kittens were the last thing on her mind right now. “I wanted to ask you, Panthershadow,” she explained with a flick of her long tail. “Have you or your apprentice had many dreams recently?”

((i'll have creekwatcher join flamehowl :3))
Creekwatcher, with 🇳ᴇcʀᴏᴅ🇦🇳cᴇʀ
Oh, her joints hurt. Were her bones scraping together? A shudder-inducing thought, but it sure felt like it. Creekwatcher grunted to herself as she made it to the fresh-kill pile. She should really go and nag Panthershadow for something to ease the ache, even if it was just a pawful of poppy seeds to knock her out for the night.
She plucked a small but plump-looking bird from the pile, turning to creak on over to the elder's den when she spotted Flamehowl resting by the warrior's den. Creekwatcher most likely wouldn't have minded the tom, but then she caught him looking up, catching a flash of the look on his face - if that didn't scream longing and heartache, she didn't know what did, and she was intrigued by it. That smelled of tasty gossip that clearly hadn't made its rounds to the elder's den yet, and Creekwatcher's belly had been aching for some interesting tidbits of late.
Creekwatcher slowly meandered over, as if she'd just picked the nicely shaded spot to eat her first meal of the day and Flamehowl just happened to be there. "Well, you look cheery this fine morning," she rumbled, a slight note of teasing in her voice as she dropped her food and settled down to tuck into it. "Someone die and I didn't know about it?" She waved her tail. "Come now, entertain this bored ol' she-cat."

Flamehowl.
The muscled tom cat had grown aware of the elder’s burning gaze tearing holes through the dark brown shades of his coat, but had initially ignored her. Hoping to display a vibe of not wanting to be messed with at all costs, but seemingly his best efforts went either unnoticed or the older shecat simply cared not about his wants and wishes. He turned his gaze onto her, watchful but neutral for the most part. Elders were avid lovers of gossip as far as he was concerned that was practically a requirement before they were permitted retirement from their duties. He supposed live in camp couldn’t offer much entertainment in of itself. Flamehowl elicited a sigh, accompanied with a shrug of his shoulders as he said, “Hollywing snores like a badger,” he offered as an excuse. True enough he hadn’t slept, but that wasn’t the sole reason for his grumpiness. Though fortunately he believed the reputation he had moulded for himself made that pretty much a given, the scarred warrior was hardly known for being a social creature. ”Unless someone’s not told me something everyone’s alive,” never one to use ten words where two or three would do just as well, he was to the point and quiet. Clearly not in his element around gossiping elders, about as much as he was around kits. Which Flamehowl supposed was much of the problem. “But then I’m hardly the first line of call for that sort of thing,” he considered with a shrug of his muscled shoulders. “Apologies,” he said unsincerely but his tone wasn’t cruel. “But you might need to find someone more interesting if you’re wanting entertainment.” Creekwatcher, willowflower.
