“That’s okay, Jinx is a great help when it comes to finding the right ingredients.” Cat said as she started walking again. After a moment, she paused again to crouch down at a different area to search, her hands brushing against the ground gently, “How is your magic coming along, Ivy?” She asked, making idle conversation. —————— Nathaniel chuckled as he followed after Mathias, his eyes quickly scanning the area out of habit, “If you ask me, I think you’ve gotten spoiled from eating her food all the time. It seems nothing is good enough for you now.” He said, grabbing something small to snack on while he waited for Mathias to grab his food and eat. —————— Phoenix turned her head at Momotaru’s voice, giving them a slight nod in greeting. “I’ll leave it Kyo to take care of. I’m not exactly on top of my game today.” She said with a dismissive wave at the sad excuse of a sword she had been working on earlier, “I doubt you would want me touching your weapons right now.” She added jokingly. Ivy w/ Cat & Jinx- Icefire15 Ivy looked through the foliage for mushrooms that were similar looking to what Cat had been collecting. She didn't know much about potion making, but knew enough. She smiled at Cat's question. "It's coming along well. I'm able to make bigger ice spears now, and different creations. Though I need to work on my weather control. I can make tiny stormclouds as well as snowclouds, but I want to be able to fill a whole area, y'know? I also get exhausted afterward," she said sheepishly. "What about you, Cat? How is your potion-making going?"

It's cool, Flame! I haven't really thought too far ahead for this, haven't had much time to unfortunately ^.^" So anything that can help move the plot along will definitly be appreciated. Right now, I do know that I don't want Nathaniel to be revealed as the traitor just yet, I've got a plan for that much later on >:3 I was thinking they could find some sort of clue that could lead them in the right direction, but not enough to reveal everything, I just haven't figured out what it should be just yet lol Echo has some suspicions already, but she hasn't quite voiced them to anyone just yet either.) Both Echo and Connor turned at the sound of Kassie's voice and looked at each other in light amusement when she had revealed herself. Echo looked back at the daughter of Hecate before speaking, "Never said it was a secret meeting. The more help we get, the better." She said, glancing at Connor to see if he agreed. Connor gave a light shrug in response, never one for using many words, "Don't matter to me." He said, moving off to look around the clearing. Echo nodded and turned back to Kassie, her eyes calculating as she considered the younger girl's offer to use magic to find a trail. "If the earth's memories are as glitchy as you say, perhaps it would be best to use that trick until we get a clearer idea on where we are going. If we use it here were the heat of the chaos was, we might not get much from it. Let's see what Connor can find first and go from there." she decided. Rainy I'm up for anything! I do not mind wherever we want to throw those two tbh! I'm gonna pull Shadow away from Frances and push him into working on his abilities for a little bit. If anyone wants to interact with Shadow I will make up a post here in an hour once I get back from the store) Okay, cool! Yeah I didn't want to reveal Nathaniel as that's just not fun for anyone and figured you already had a plan for that, so no worries there. My idea behind it was to use earth's memories to pop up almost cryptic imaging that would give very small inconsistent detail that would force them to dig deeper to find the answers, but wouldn't go that route unless approved!) "Earth Mother isn't always appreciative when magic is used on her, but then again that's why she's always sleeping," Kassie said with a slight smirk. While the daughter of Hecate loved her elemental magic more, especially pertaining to ice, she would help protect the camp she lived at. She nodded to Echo's suggestion, giving Connor a thumbs up. "Continue on good sir," she said, walking around the main clearing, her feet moving in places that wouldn't disturb what she believed to be helpful.

A long breath exited from Shadow's mouth as he sat across from the Arts and Craft building in a meditation form. His eyes closed as he focused his mind on the shadows around him. He had positioned himself in the shadow of a few trees as to better help his powers, but the daylight was still going to be tricky to deal with. He wasn't exactly sure what this session was going to accomplish as his best ability was his power to shadow travel without completely passing out. The shadows, slowly, crept around his body as he grew deathly still, holding the power at bay. Breathe slowly, don't panic... From a distance, he was invisible to the eyes of others. The shadows had covered him well enough that he wasn't easy to spot. His fingers tightened into his palms as he held the shadows to him, ignoring the sounds around the area.

Nathaniel merely shook his head at Mathias' words, a small smirk on his face as he took a bite out of an apple, "Come on, hurry up. Those monster's you want to beat up so badly aren't going to wait around for you all day." He said, moving to the Ares table. Truthfully, Nathaniel could use some time away from camp himself to let off some steam and was starting to feel a bit impatient, but chose not to let it show. "They'll probably die of old age by the time we find them." He said with a dramatic sigh, but his eyes had a good humored shine to them. ___________________ Phoenix lifted one of her shoulders in a half shrug, resting her chin on the back of her hand again, "Not a whole lot really. A lot went on that night and I only got there towards the end of the attack, so I didn't see much of it. Kyo wasn't even there for it." She explained, watching as the older demigod passed his weapons off. Even though she was taking a break from the forge for a bit, she couldn't help looking the weapons over, appreciating the craftsmanship that went into making them. Phoenix tore her eyes away from the weapons to look back at Momotaru, "Chiron has been talking to the Council of Cloven Elders and some of the dryads that live in the forest, but he hasn't exactly said much about it to any of the regular campers. He might call a Senior Council meeting soon though." She added, thinking about the meetings all of the Head Counselors had to attend every now and then. Phoenix sat up as she suddenly remembered something when she thought of two specific Head Counselors, "Come to think of it, I overheard Echo asking Connor to meet her out in the forest where the attack happened this morning at breakfast. I'm pretty sure she said there was something she wanted to check out, not sure what though." ___________________ Both Echo and Connor turned at the sound of Kassie's voice and looked at each other in light amusement when she had revealed herself. Echo looked back at the daughter of Hecate before speaking, "Never said it was a secret meeting. The more help we get, the better." She said, glancing at Connor to see if he agreed. If we use it here were the heat of the chaos was, we might not get much from it. Let's see what Connor can find first and go from there." she decided. "I'd tell you to be patient, but then I'd be a hypocrite." Mathias rolled his eyes, quickly eating one of the apples and taking a few of the granola bars with him. "Besides, you're the one who offered the idea, I just happened to like it." He walked leisurely beside the other man, glancing at him as he mused. "If anyone's dying of old age, it's going to be me. You think one day soon we'll finally be able to leave this camp and I don't know, actually go back home?" He huffed, suddenly homesick once again. It had been so long, being so far away. "I was healing from an injury from a former camper when it happened." Kyo mumbled, grateful that Salem had disappeared from camp, but also weary that she would ever return. He held Momotaru's weapon with careful hands, feeling a thrum of delight beneath his skin as the weapon practically vibrated with history, and countless use in the field. These were always his favorite to work on, because they were special and served a far greater purpose than any old steel weapon. He listened to Phoenix speak, turning to prepare for repairs. He reached his hand in to test the heat, the scorching flames sweeping harmlessly around his hand before he nodded with contentment. "Echo's always had a keen eye when something goes amiss." He observed.

"I stocked up on alot a while ago. It's cheaper when you know where to buy it from." Rosaline admitted airily, walking towards Oliver with a knowing smile. She held up the pastel pink polaroid, where a few stickers were worn with loving use. "I know my modeling camera would take a much clearer picture, but there's something alot more personal and warm about the polaroid. Feels like I'm back in time, something like that."

"It's going alright, I suppose. Most of it is trial and error." Cat said, adding a couple more mushrooms to her bag. Her hands found another plant she had been looking for and started digging up some of the roots, using her dagger to cut them free. "It's difficult finding books that are in braille for it, so sometimes I have to improvise." She added, brushing the dirt from her hands. "I'm sure once you practice more with your weather control, it'll get easier for you." ______________
Connor glanced back at Echo and Kassie before turning back to start searching for the trail they were looking for. His eyes scanned the ground, looking for a trail that he could follow. He wandered over to the edge of the clearing and crouched down when he spotted several different tracks all coming from the same spot, "Over here." He called to Echo, looking over his shoulder.
Echo headed over to Connor and looked over his shoulder at the tracks, "Think this is the direction they came from?" She asked, looking at Connor. He gave her a nod and stood back up and took a few paces forward, watching the ground carefully for any deviations from the trail. Besides a few that had gone in different directions, it seemed the monsters had mostly stuck together until they had reached the group of campers they had attacked.
"Seems like it." Connor confirmed, starting to follow the tracks. Echo motioned to Kassie for her to follow them before heading after Connor herself. While Connor kept his eyes on the tracks, Echo watched the surrounding forest for anything that could attack them. ______________
Nathaniel gave Mathias a shrug, "Well, you're probably old enough by now that you can leave. It's not like Chiron or the gods force you to stay here. This is just a safe haven for us to train and be ready for when we decide to leave." He said, finishing his own apple and throwing the core into the trash, "Come on, let's get out of here." Nathaniel said, moving to leave the dining pavilion.

Mathias was surprisingly quiet at that, eyes seeming to wander over to look at nothing in particular. Admittedly, he wondered what exactly was holding him back from getting out and going right back to his mother. Perhaps she had moved back to Egypt by now, working on her next project, helping people in ways he always wished he could. Even so, he looked once at Nathanial, and then at the dining pavilion itself. How many monsters would come after him, and how could his home town possibly risk that kind of damage to such a historical part of the country? He found himself at a crossroad again, and like all times before, he decided to push it aside in his inability to choose.
"Good to know." He muttered simply, tossing his own core out and following after his brother. "Let's hope there's something big to hit out there today."

She narrowed her eyes and took a few steps towards the trees, blinking when she thought she recognized the figure, "Shadow? Is that you?" she asked quietly, not wanting to startle the son of Hades.

There's bound to be a few there." He said as they left the camp's borders.

He grinned, cheeky. “I could always hot-wire one. Wasn’t as hard to learn as I thought it would be back then. But, yeah. A cab would be fine.” He slipped off the camp borders with a small breath of relief, glad to just be out and get his mind off of Echo, as difficult as that was.

It was almost therapeutic to go into the city, he always fared better in places with bustling crowds, sharp scents and sounds. Monster Hunting was an added bonus, of course.

Her first instinct was to run ahead and attempt to find the clues herself, the patience in her thinning. Yet, her mind told her to hold off as this was not the time to be rash and miss details. Kassie followed behind Echo, examining the same tracks they looked over for any other evidence that the daughter of Aphrodite missed. If her abilities were able to be put to use then it would be fantastic, but she also didn't want to have wasted any time. Dangling from his belt, Kassie pulled her two cutlasses and set her sights on the forest around them. "Anything that resembles human footprints?" She asked, whether it be Connor or Echo that answered. ~~~~~~~ The approaching footsteps of Kumiko was completely silent to Shadow as his focus was solely on maintaining his control of the darkness. If he lost control like the last time, he didn't know what was going to happen to himself or anyone nearby. As the shadows swirled around him, he was close to invisible completely. Behind his closed eyes, an image of his former apartment with his mother appeared. He stood just to the right of her coffee table, staring out into the imaginary street view of the city. "Shadow? Is that you?" a voice echoed off the walls, startling Shadow so badly his eyes snapped open and dissipating the darkness quickly. "Holy Hera!" He said, his eyes searching for the voice until he saw Kumiko. "Oh, its just you..." His breaths coming in and out, long and deep.

Hey, Blood! How are you?)
“Not yet.” Connor grunted in response to Kassie’s question, pausing for a moment to kneel down and inspect some damaged bushes and undergrowth. The trail had grown a bit erratic the further they got from the scene of the attack, and some of the trail had disappeared due to the time that had passed since then. He had slowed his pace down a bit, not wanting to risk losing it.
Echo’s eyes scanned the surrounding forest again, her senses on high alert. She turned her gaze back to Connor once she was sure there was nothing of serious danger was near them, “What are the tracks telling you?” She asked him.
“About as much as any other monster tracks.” Connor said with a sigh as he stood back up. He started walking again, this time moving a bit off to the side of where they had been originally walking, “But it seems like they were trying to throw off the trail here a bit. Some went off on their own, but the majority stuck together.” He added.
Echo followed after Connor slowly, seemingly lost in thought as she took in Connor’s words. After a moment of silence, she looked over at Kassie, “What do you think?” She asked the younger girl, curious as to what Kassie thought of it. ________________
Kumiko took a few steps back in surprise, “I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean to startle you!” She said, rubbing the back of her neck in embarrassment. Kumiko truly hadn’t meant to scare Shadow, and she felt bad that she had. “Are… you alright?” Kumiko asked, giving him a concerned look. ________________
Nathaniel gave his brother a smirk and took the lead, turning down an alleyway. He took many turns left and right, leading them further into the city, and it wasn’t exactly the nicest neighborhood in New York City. Despite the danger, Nathaniel walked with the confidence of someone who lived there. After awhile he stopped outside of what appeared to be an abandoned building, “I heard a rumor a while back about a cyclops taking up residence here.” He said to Mathias, looking over at him. “What do you think? Wanna check it out?” ________________
Cat placed the roots into her bag and brushed the dirt off of her hands, “I think you’re right about that, Ivy. I’ll just have to practice more too.” She said with a smile. “Have you managed to find anything?” Cat asked, tilting her head towards the older girl.

** Momotarou & Mitarashi / Icefire15 + Moonblazer ** -
Momotarou clicked his tongue in irritation at not immediately receiving the answers he was looking for. He distracts from the faint furrow to his brow by giving Auspice a ring, catching the nearly shattered shield as it abruptly forms in front of him and gently laying it over the work table as if to avoid exacerbating its 'injuries'. Judging by their conversation earlier, he'd bet that Phoenix isn't being entirely truthful but whatever she is holding back doesn't exactly align with his goals. When her eyes alight with a sudden memory, his own flash with interest.
"Oh? That sounds promising, thank you." The steady grin returns to his porcelain features as he shakes Hebi free from his wrist, giving the ribbon a twirl to restore its shape as a sword. Kiji is the final weapon to be offered up, his attention arrested by Kyo's quiet addition to her words as he places the broken bow over his shield. Momotarou feels...naked without his weapons. Even knowing that he has more on his person. It's a testament to just how vicious his final battle was that every single one of his most trusted companions were damaged in some way. There is more to think about, but he can't help running the fingers of his good hand over the sorry sight. The anger is still there, but it's muted now at the realization that he may have nearly died.
Huh.
No matter.
As long as he's still alive, he will achieve victory. He doesn't have to be a child of Nike to know this to be a fact. There's more work to be done to that end, and he's distantly aware that he's been staring pensively at his weapons for too long. Momotarou comes back to himself with an idle flip of the hair that had pooled over his shoulder. Mitarashi reflexively lifts a hand to bat the golden strands away from her face.
"You were injured by a former camper?" Kyo's statement is so casual that Momotarou isn't sure that he realizes the weight of his words. Perhaps he also isn't aware that the man he's speaking to wouldn't already be privy to the information? It's not like Momotarou announces himself every time he returns to camp (perhaps he should start?) and this one was made under the dead of night, with him immediately being placed in the infirmary as soon as Kurosaki had felt him drag himself over the barrier.
His countenance hardens, fingers of his right hand closing over the empty air that Saru's hilt ordinarily occupies. "Who? Why?" Ire returns to his silver gaze, the glow of the fire creating sparks within its steely depths. They claimed not to know anything about the sudden appearance of monsters yet were attacked at some point before or during by a 'former camper'? Did this just not correlate in their minds? Even if it were mere coincedence, nothing in their blasé responses and casual body language indicates that this has been thoroughly looked into. At least not by this...pair. The apparent attack and upheaval of camp affairs hadn't happened too long ago, yes? Why is any of this information being delivered in mild tones?
Mitarashi reacts to Momotarou's rising temper by stepping forward anxiously and squeezing the fist by his hip. He shakes her hand away in a controlled action not intended to hurt, but slants a brief glare her way. She responds with a pointed look. The one where she asks him to keep his cool for the sake of his mission. And maybe a little for her sake too. Her eyes are wide and her lower lip wobbles, obviously uncomfortable. He's reminded of how she flinches when he raises his voice, and covers her head as if she think he'll hit her, even when he's angry at someone else. Any negative energy in general makes her jittery and prone to tears, but particularly his own, for some reason.
Momotarou's irritation isn't clear to the casual observer, bar the narrowing of his eyes and sharpness of his words. But for Mita's sake, he inhales and exhales deeply to forcefully release the tension from his sore body. "Former as in presently or in the past?" The words still come out like a demand.

I only got two for the moment. One being Pirithous "Phi" Wellspring, son of Dionysus, and the other is James Strongarm, blind son of Nemesis. Currently Phi is indisposed while James is waiting in the wings.)

Sure! New characters are always welcome! ^.^)
“Great! I think we can take a break for now, I’ve kind of been at this all morning.” Cat said, feeling her stomach rumble. She gave a sheepish smile and moved to sit under a tree, digging through the other bag she had with her, “I brought some lunch with me if you would like to share.” She offered. _______________
“It was during the game.” Phoenix stated, watching as Momotarou and Mitarashi interacted silently. “Kyo and I were guarding the flag and two of the Hecate kids were sent by the other team to get our flag. I’ve never had any problems or issues with Obsidian, but I swear the other one was unstable.” She added with a light shudder. She hated thinking about Salem, it always brought her mind right back to the very thing she was trying to avoid thinking about. “Salem was the one that attacked Kyo, and she wouldn’t listen to Obsidian when she ordered her to stop. Chiron punished her for going too far, but she disappeared a few days later.”

________________ Kumiko took a few steps back in surprise, “I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean to startle you!” She said, rubbing the back of her neck in embarrassment. Kumiko truly hadn’t meant to scare Shadow, and she felt bad that she had. “Are… you alright?” Kumiko asked, giving him a concerned look. ________________ "Where did they appear from? A horde like this doesn't exist in the forest, just a few managed by Chiron and Mr. D" Kassie stated as she watched Connor. Her swords didn't leave her hands as she stared down at the tracks nearby. "Obviously someone let them in, but how? Through the barrier or other means? If that's the case, shouldn't we search that area for any clues. No one is perfect, no matter how hard they try to be." Kassie was hoping to get a chance to find a slightest shred of evidence as a way to conduct her magic. Anything was better than blindly waiting for the traitor to slip up or even worst, another attack happens. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Breathing in and out was basic mediation fundamentals, that didn't mean Shadow's heart wasn't racing nor skipping beats. Controlling the darkness had left him drained, sweat sliding down his face. "I'm... okay" He said, looking up into the tree above him. "Caught me off guard, to be honest. I didn't know exactly what my powers were doing. I was just trying to control them into something." Shadow said, wiping his hand across his sweaty forehead.

“That’s the plan.” Echo said, taking her eyes away from the tracks they were following for a brief moment to look at Kassie, “My hope is that whoever this traitor is, they left something that can lead us to him. It has to be either a current or former camper of Camp Half-Blood, maybe one of the campers that showed up to the battle late or maybe they weren’t there at all. There were many campers who weren’t present for the attack, and just as many that arrived later as well.” She added, narrowing her icy blue eyes in thought. The hard part would be figuring out who it was without throwing around accusations and building tensions between the members of the camp.
“Look at this.” Connor said suddenly, coming to a stop and gesturing to the area they had come across. The trail had led the small group to the edge of the barrier and there were clear signs that the horde of monsters had entered the camp through here. The son of Demeter turned to look at the two girls with him, “I don’t see any human footprints though. Whoever it was, they were smart enough to cover up their tracks.” He reported after he took a good look at the mess of monster tracks.
Echo sighed and gave a shake of her head, “I was afraid of that.” She said, taking a step forward to take a look herself. Echo looked back at Kassie, remembering the younger girl’s offer from earlier, “Perhaps this would be the best pace to try your memory manipulation. Think you’re up for it?” _________________
“Sorry..” Kumiko apologized again, “I shouldn’t have snuck up on you like that. Are you practicing with your abilities?” She asked, figuring that would be why he was hiding in the shadows. Kumiko remembered the last time he had been brought to the infirmary because he had overexerted him and gave a slight frown, “You’re not pushing yourself too hard, are you? I would hate to see you go to the infirmary again. I actually have some extra ambrosia on me if you would like some.” Kumiko was a natural healer, and she couldn’t help but fuss over her fellow campers.
