Oliver w/ Rosaline- MoonblazerOliver shrugged overdramatically. "You could try. Maybe I could even go easy on you," he snickered lightheartedly. He thought for a moment, intrigued. Could the luck of Tyche overpower Apollo's archery skills? Oliver doubted it, but it didn't mean it wasn't possible. "Though you do have a chance to beat me, I admit." He flashed another one of his charming grins.

He flashed another one of his charming grins. Rosaline laughed then, a genuine one, before she took off her sunglasses and looked right at Oliver. “You’re a real hoot, you know that? I got to let you in on a secret though.” She held her bow, turning to adjust to the stance that Oliver showed her. This time though, the arrow that was fired landed in the outer circle again, no bullseye. She lowered the bow, speaking again. “Only so many times I can really change things to go the way I want before it knocks me out. Most of the time, it happens unconsciously. Doesn’t take as much out of me that way.” She turned then, closing her eyes and proceeding to spin in a circle, one, two, three times. She willed the sensation into her body again, feeling her muscles burn and her eyes burn behind her eyelids as she aimed the bow and pulled the string back. With a dull thunk, the arrow sailed into the target in a bulls-eye. She opened her eyes, looking at the target with a few deep breaths, before she shook her head softly. “I don’t ever think how I can do it, I think “this will happen” and it does. But you, Oli? What you have is natural talent, and you work hard for it. This?” She pointed to herself with a small yet accepting smile. “This is just luck. And it can’t last forever.” |

"If I wasn't - me- a child of Apollo, I wouldn't have this level of skill at archery." Oliver pointed over his shoulder with his thumb. "I wouldn't be able to magically master any instrument I lay my hands on. I could've been tone deaf for all I know," he chuckled. He chewed the inside of his lip, pondering for a moment. What was it like, to not be a half-blood? Part of him held this desire to experience it firsthand, but the other half liked who he was, where he was. He knew that if he wasn't a half-blood, he wouldn't have arrived at camp and met so many awesome people, like Rosaline for example. "Though I do get what you mean. It is different in a way."

It is different in a way." “It means alot that you can understand it in that way.” Rosaline spoke honestly, the teasing lilt in her voice becoming more of a natural and soft tone. “You’re not wrong. Being born a certain way to a certain parent’s the reason why most of us are the way we are. But, I hope you know, that even if you were tone deaf, or fumbled every instrument ever put in your hand, I would still have a great time getting to know you.” She looked at him, as though trying to read him, before she finally relented and stepped back, smiling once more. “And don’t worry. The only luck I’d ever send you is good luck. I think you more than deserve it, when the time comes.” |

"But, seriously, thanks." “Don’t mention it.” Rosaline snapped her fingers towards the young man, before she ran her hand up carefully to her hair. “Ugh. I forgot how humid it can get out here. I should have brought a sun hat, last thing I need is anyone seeing my hair look a mess.” She placed her bow down and wiped her hands together. “Oh! Actually, I’m glad we had this talk, because now I know that I can totally get a beautiful bow made for you. If you sweet talk Kyo enough, he’ll make anything for you.” She teased. “And if you give him something new to play with and break apart, even better.” |

Oliver w/ Rosaline- Moonblazer Oliver rolled his eyes playfully. “I bet you’d stop to examine every flower in the forest,” he joked, then continued. “And my bow was a gift, from a… friend.” The “friend” he was referring to was his uncle, who, coincidentally, loved archery, and Oliver shared his uncle’s passion. The bow was his uncle’s old bow, which Oliver received after he had passed away.

Nathaniel leaned forward and rested his arms on his knees as he listened to his half-brother. “I’m not surprised she wanted something different. I did warn you that most children of Aphrodite take their relationships pretty seriously. But I doubt she cares about the fact that you get around, she doesn’t seem the type to care about another’s reputation.” Nathaniel said, looking Mathias over. Nathaniel was quiet for a before giving a shake of his head, “Well, this will certainly make things a little awkward.” He said with a sigh and running a hand through his hair, “Echo and I just made a deal to be on the same team for Capture the Flag this morning.” “Ah, since you two are just so close, you’d know everything about her then.” Mathias harked, before he turned to scowl lightly at Nathanial, voice rumbling with exasperation as he accused. “Really? Just gonna casually drop that now? Weren’t you the one last time to ditch the original plan and drop the decisions onto me?” He recalled, still a bit bitter over the last game. He sat up, but quickly turned his head to frown at the window. “Make whatever deal you like. I highly doubt she’d care to see me anyway, so I may as well sit this round out. Unless you plan to ditch again .” He sighed, before admitting. “Where the hell did you run off to last time? You know, the night the game turned into a monster attack?” He never took Nathanial for a coward, but most of all he had been miserable when thrust into position of leadership out of the blue. Mathias was always tired of being the reason others died, or left, or lost. How could he possibly help when now Echo was going to be on his same team? Surely something would go wrong, like it always did when he finally started to care, or open up. "Hey, how was I to know you would get into an argument with her? It's not like you said anything to me when you finally got back to the cabin last night. And besides, I'm curious to see how well the Aphrodite Cabin will do against the Athena Cabin. If the Ares Cabin can help them beat one of our oldest rivals, of course I'll lend them all the strength we have to offer." Nathaniel said with a nonchalant shrug. "As for where I was, I already told you, I had something to take care of. I had a plan for the game and it unfortunately didn't work out, Horus caught wind of it and managed to outsmart me. And don't think for a second that I'm going to let you sit this next game out, we need all the manpower we can get." He added, sending a stern look over at Mathias. Nathaniel was lying about where he had been of course, and Mathias didn't need to know where he had truly been. "So. Are you planning on sulking in here all day? No offense, but that isn't exactly a healthy coping mechanism. I've never known you to be so hung up on one person before." Nathaniel said, changing the subject from the last disastrous game of Capture the Flag. He didn't like thinking about how his plan to capture one of the children of the Big Three had failed or about how frustrated it made him to think how close he had been to success. If Nathaniel's plan was to come to fruition, he would need to look for a better opportunity. |

Here are some other starters for anyone who would like to rp with them ^.^)
Phoenix was hard at work in the Forge working on a new sword design, but it seemed like her heart just wasn't in it. She set the hammer she was using aside and dipped the blade into some water and inspected it after pulling it back out. Giving a frustrated shake of her head, Phoenix tossed the unfinished sword onto the table and sat down with a sigh, rubbing a hand over her tired eyes. It had seemed like she hardly got any sleep these days, her mind constantly wandering back to the night Kyo had been hurt and that strange power she had used to fight back. And then just the other day when the new camper had appeared and the fake monster attack that had drawn the power back out again. Phoenix looked down at her bandaged arm, feeling another flash of anger at herself for being stupid enough to chase after Lenny in the first place. The injury was mostly healed now, the Apollo kids had done a decent job of it. Phoenix looked around, wondering if Kyo was still in the Forge with her. She needed some fresh air for a bit and hoped it would clear her mind a bit, and maybe her half-brother could use a break too.
Echo had left Shard in charge of making sure the other children of Aphrodite got to their daily camp activities and was heading to the forest now. Something about the monster attack on the Capture the Flag game had been bothering her, and there was something she wanted to check out. Maybe if she checked out where the attack had happened, she would find some sort of clue leading her to the culprit that had let them into the Camp. Echo paused at the edge of the forest and double checked that she had her weapons and armor intact. It wouldn't be smart to enter the forest without some kind of gear to protect herself. Giving a determined nod, she slipped into the forest quietly and started making her way to the scene of the attack.
Horus closed his notebook with a snap, a satisfied smile on his face. With the next game of Capture the Flag approaching quickly, he had been hard at work on making plans and alliances with other cabins and was now feeling rather confident in the battle plan he had come up with. He started for the training arena, wanting to do some combat and weapon training for a bit.
Cat hummed quietly to herself as she walked along the edge of the forest, pausing in her walk every now and then to crouch down and feel around on the ground for herbs and mushrooms. She had recently taken a keen interest in potion making and was currently searching for fresh ingredients. Jinx, the raven perched on her shoulder, chirped in her ear every time the blind girl strayed a bit off of her path or when to stop to look for more of the ingredients she needed. Cat's hands found a decent sized mushroom and picked it, holding it to her nose to smell it before holding it up for Jinx to take a look at. Once she heard the raven's confirming chirp, she stuffed it into her foraging back and stood back up, wiping the dirt off her hands and continued on with her walk.

Ivy w/ Cat- Icefire15 Still fiddling with the ice ball in her hands, Ivy caught a glimpse of her fellow cabinmate, Cat, who looked like she was foraging for plants. She smiled softly and hopped off of the rock she was resting on, heading over to see if Cat wanted company. Making sure Cat knew she was being approached, Ivy cleared her throat. “Hey, Cat.”

[ Thanks! How about I have Momo hang out at the forge with Kyo & Phoenix for a bit before bumping into Axel or Horus later? He's not at liberty to join in Capture The Flag but I imagine he's taken a liking to Horus for his personality.
I also have more characters on the way, I can start writing once I get back from work. ]

Ivy w/ Cat- Icefire15 "Well, I was playing around with my magic, but I wanted to see if I could join you in your... foraging, I'm guessing?" Ivy knew that Cat had an interest in witchcraft, and assumed that she would use it for such a purpose. She made sure to quickly wave to Jinx as well.

She asked, not wanting to intrude if it was someone Oliver was close to and couldn't be with at the moment. |

Mathias rolled his eyes, though he was uncharacteristically non-confrontational as he finally pulled himself up to sit at the edge of the bed. He looked at Nathanial with a look that seemed to reflect that he was dissatisfied with his answer, but he supposed if he was to trust anyone by this point, it was his brother. He didn't work in halves, after all. Having different mothers meant nothing to him when it came to the other Ares kids, they were the only siblings he ever knew. So, he gave a hefty grunt and relented. "Fine. But if Horus gets the drop on you again, I'm going to assume you're ass in combat at this point. If you duck out again, I'm ducking out too to steal a drink from the city. Tired of all the wine in this camp." He muttered, before he rose to his feet and stretched out his arms. "I'll be over it anyway." He lied, but forced himself to believe it would be true. "So no, I'm not sulking all day, I'm up. What did you want, besides all this touchy-feely crap?" He looked at his half-sister with a concerned look, before he slowly pulled himself up to sit on the table with a small hum. "I can tell something's wrong when your work looks sloppy." He admitted, only ever so open with his half-siblings, and usually only in the forge. "Does it have something to do with the new camper you picked up?" |

I have a whole set in the cherry blossom design, remind me to wear it out just to jog your memory." She teased, before she moved to plop herself down to sit on one of the nearby stumps in the shade. She whistled a bit, asking. "Anything else you want to impress me with out here, or are we good on the bullseyes?" |

The raven was friendly with all of the other children of Hecate, but tended to be a bit overprotective of Cat when it came to dealing with the other campers. “I don’t mind if you join me, I would like the company.” Cat added, giving Ivy another smile.

Nathaniel stood up from the opposite bed when Mathias finally sat up, “Well, I mostly came to see where you were hiding since I hadn’t seen you all morning. But if you’re up for it, how about we get out of camp for a bit. Might take your mind off of a certain someone.” He suggested, opening the cabin door and waiting for Mathias to join him, “But you should probably eat something first. You skipped breakfast and lunch is just about over, so you must be starving by now.”

Phoenix gave a sharp shake of her head, “Anyone from a mile away could see how sloppy that damn thing is.” She huffed, green eyes glaring at the piece of metal. Her face twisted into a scowl at the mention of Lenny and she turned her head away, resting her elbow on the table and placing her chin in her hand, “Sorta. Just a bunch of things on my mind I guess.” She grumbled, “Seems like every time I try and distract myself from them, they just keep popping up in my head no matter what I do.”

"Yeah, cherry blossoms should be unforgettable." Then he snapped his fingers repeatedly. "Snow on pine trees is also a magical sight," he said, eyes shining. Was it obvious that he loved nature? "Well, unless you want me to blow out someone's eardrums or eavesdrop, then not really," he replied. "Or I can bring out one of my instruments."

Her face twisted into a scowl at the mention of Lenny and she turned her head away, resting her elbow on the table and placing her chin in her hand, “Sorta. Just a bunch of things on my mind I guess.” She grumbled, “Seems like every time I try and distract myself from them, they just keep popping up in my head no matter what I do.” Mathias tossed his undershirt off casually towards the nearby hamper, not caring much in terms of getting dressed in front of anybody. He snorted lightly, slipping on one of his sleeker workout shirts. "That's more like it. I've been dying to punch the hell out of a monster or two. That's the best thing you've said to me so far today." He smirked, ever so slightly, before he bumped past Nathanial's shoulder with his own. "I'll eat the whole dining hall out at this point. Don't take that out of context, though I might do that too." He snickered. Kyo watched Phoenix's mannerisms for a while, before he offered gently. "It sounds like there's something important hiding in these past few days, you just haven't narrowed it down yet. I hope it's not worry for me." He smiled, assuring. "I've got a scar now, but we all have those. I'm perfectly fine, thanks to you. If that's one of the things on your mind, you can tell it that it's job is done." |

She also thought Cat was quite fun to hang around with. "Do you need an extra hand to carry any mushrooms?" Oliver w/ Rosaline- Moonblazer Oliver snickered. "Yeah, cherry blossoms should be unforgettable." Then he snapped his fingers repeatedly. "Snow on pine trees is also a magical sight," he said, eyes shining. Was it obvious that he loved nature? "Well, unless you want me to blow out someone's eardrums or eavesdrop, then not really," he replied. "Or I can bring out one of my instruments." "No thanks to the first option, yes please to the second option." Rosaline answered smoothly, before she gave a small and knowing giggle. "You know, with how much you seem to like nature, you and Lloyd would get along so well. He's always gushing over everything outdoorsy, and he's certainly easy on the eyes with such a fantastic gift like his. Forget lightning and fire, but being able to look and feel young and healthy when you feel like it? Ah, now that is a lucky draw." She admitted, though it was clear she was very fond about her friend, and with how often she spent time talking with Lloyd, she wanted to make him even more friends. |
