Emma took a deep breath. She looked at Valen out of the corner of her eye. She really didn't want to make a fool out of herself in front of him. Now she felt a little under pressure and shaky. She feared that if she threw it, she'd make a fool out of herself and he would start laughing at her or think she's weak. Emma took a few more deep breaths, calming herself down, and threw the dagger. Just like that, it hit almost dead center. She looked over at Valen with a huge smile on her face. "I nearly hit it dead center! Thank you so much," she said feeling overjoyed. She wanted to go and give him a hug to show appreciation, but feared she'd overstep her boundaries if she did. [ Moonblazer] -------------------- Dakota sharply inhaled. They didn't want to appear weak in front of anybody, so they put on a brave face. "No," they replied, "Just wanted to know." They also didn't want to be caught. Being caught outside of camp without permission could hold some serious consequences that Dakota wasn't quite sure they wanted to face yet. The longer they stayed out here, the more chance they have of being caught. "We just don't want to be out here too long. We could get some serious consequences if we're caught outside camp without permission." [ bloodrosepelt] (I apologize for being inactive. I just started back at school.) Valen gave a faint smile, calm and content at the sight of her nearly hitting the dead center. He looked at Emma and nodded. “No need to thank me, you’re the one who hit the center.” He chuckled, though it was clear the dark-haired counselor was teasing a bit. “You’re a real fast learner, to make that drastic of an improvement on the first try. You’ve got a real talent in projectiles.” He complimented. |

While he was grateful that Poseidon's offspring had the chance of having healing powers with water, a bit of jealous crossed his mind. Must be nice to heal through your father's natural element. Children of Hades weren't that lucky and had to let the ambrosia, nectar, or worse the Apollo kids' treat their wounds. Then he was transported back to that impending doom that loomed over the camp. "I do not fear anything, at least almost anything," Shadow stated. He turned to face the lake, keeping Circe in his vision. "But talking with Kumiko, that traitor is still out there. Plotting and scheming." Shadow's hands whiten, his fists clenched together in a small bit of frustration. |

Emma felt her face heat up at the compliment. She bet she looked pretty stupid right now. "Thanks," she said a little loud, "For the compliment." She took another deep breath in attempts to cool her face down. She walked back over to the target. She hoped she'd be able to get the dagger out this time. She wrapped her hands around the dagger and pulled. Thankfully, the dagger came out easier than last time. "Phew! Thought it was gonna be stuck like last time," she joked. [ Moonblazer] -------------------- Dakota shrugged. "I don't care if we go back or not," they responded, "I just don't want to be caught out here." They hadn't meant to spoil Phi's fun, but they also didn't want to get caught. If cleaning the stables was as bad as it sound, they'd rather go back than stay out here. "If you want to go back I'll go. If not, I'll stay," they said, "I only came out here cause I was bored." |

Circe gave but a small nod as she listened to Shadow speak. Quickly she moved her right hand to have the palm facing upwards and had a large snowflake. In a neutral tone she said, "Like the coming of the next winter freeze you worry from the damage that may yet come." Offering him her creation she said, "Such fears are valid, but to lose yourself in worry is to give such a threat the edge they desire."

The small noise next to him, Shadow understood that Circe had moved closer to him and was holding something out. He turned his head to find a large snowflake hovering in her palm. His eyes stared it down while listening to her words before reaching out to take it from her. He watched the snowflake float through the air, a element he was used to but could not control. "Clearly, you don't know of the dread the children of Hades carry with them. Almost all of my half-siblings' lives have been followed with misery, suffering, and flat out torment" Shadow murmured. The snowflake in his hand slowly began to turn a dark color as he continued to speak. "I lost what little life I had with my own mother after the attacks became more frequent. I will not allow some revenge driven 'child' tear our home apart." By the end of his words, the snowflake had completely blacken from the darkness Shadow had coursing through him.

The only reason he wasn’t trying to gauge her interests in him was because he knew how odd he and most other children of Hades could seem to others. After all, with his more advanced skills in necromancy based magics, most people were not able to stomach the dead reanimating, or the chill of dark energy. He inspected the dagger in her hand. “Is there any damage to the weapon?” |

Circe watched as he snowflake turned from its pure white to pitch black. With a sigh she could not help but feel saddened by the thought of Shadow and his siblings seeing themselves as so filled with dread, not to mention his own negative emotions. With a slight scoff she shook her head while saying, “You speak of you and your kin like they are the only ones of paths are rot with misery for bearing blood such as ares. While it is commendable for you wanting to safeguard others, you must not shackle yourself to such a burden alone.” The air started to crow cold and her gaze hardened before continuing, “If you are truly interested in preserving this “home” of ours like you claim then you shall not condemn yourself, for a home is only that where all can come together in peace and joy. Do you understand?”

His rage and frustration with previous events was something not easily let go, but Circe's words held comfort and caring within them. With every second passing, his body slowly relaxed first starting with his hands then his arms and up into the torso. Shadow's head cast down toward the water. "Are you sure you aren't a daughter of Athena?" he murmured with a very soft smile. Leave to him to be the one to crack the tension in the air, something that would never have happened months prior. "Yes, this place has been here for so many years since the move to the West. Too many of us call this place home permanently to let it fall" Shadow stated.

Circe shook her head as she also looked at the water while saying, “No I am definitely the daughter of Poseidon. It is just that unlike the sea which is rough and wild, ice is calm and sturdy. I am just more cooler headed than my ilk.” Turning her head to look at Shadow she raised an eyebrow and asked, “You speak of this place through the eyes of others, why? Do you truly desire to protect this place of your own volition, or is it rather you only feel this sense of obligation due to are roles as Greek “heroes”?”
As Phi turned to walk back to camp he could hear the faint sound of metal clanking together above him and Dakota. Looking around to try and find the source of the of the clanking and saw a pair of Stymphalian birds. Quickly grabbing his fellow half blood he started dragging them while saying, “We better get out of here!” As he did the birds started cawing and diving at them.

Circe's words hit true with him as he noticed that Poseidon's children also had abilities of cryokinesis. Hades' children were able to control the ability with limitations. "Sorry, I just assumed due to how well spoken and wise you are," he said, the soft smile still present. Once her head turned to face him, Shadow focused himself to her as well. The white colored iris was something he had seen in a just a few people, but Circe's other eye was truly of an ocean's tide, bright blue and beautiful. Shadow sucked in a small breath, considering his answer to question. "This camp is what I've known for the last three years, maybe not as long as others, but I can't leave. This is my home as well as every other camper, whether they call it home or summer camp. Not one ounce of my being cares about being a Greek "hero." Besides, children of Hades aren't exactly the faces of heroes you'd think of," Shadow stated with a smirk.

Circe gave a nod as she said, "Alright, just wanted to make sure that you were actually acting of your own wishes or if you weren't. Only a fool does things based around what the such arbitrary ideas like being a "hero"." Then her eyebrow raised as she asked Shadow, "As for my speech patterns, how do you expect a daughter of Poseidon to speak?"

Echo said before giving Nat a playful smirk, "But that doesn't mean we won't be giving the Athena cabin a run for their money." She added as an after thought. Nathaniel kicked some trash in Mathias' direction, a grin breaking out on his face, "You're hot bubble bath awaits you, Your Majesty." He teased before turning around and wading into his own pile of trash, a grimace on his face as he tried to ignore the stench of it. Once he was finished, he looked over at Mathias, "You go for the legs, I'll go for it's eye. If we manage to blind it, we can get an instant advantage on it." Kumiko walked into the Forge just in time to see Jacob throw away whatever it was he was working on and blinked in surprise, "Woah. Someone's in a mood today." She said to him, making her way towards him and sitting beside him at the bench, "What's wrong? Something on your mind today?" She asked, leaning against the table and looking up at him. “Your majesty, eh? I’m not much of a monarchist. Closest we came were pharaohs, but. They fancied themselves as gods, not mere kings.” Mathias smirked, before he rolled his eyes and made his way through one of the clumps of trash. Scowling, he agreed. “I’ll tear his legs apart for making me wade through all his trash. My mother would shred my ass up if I ever messed up her house like this.” He snorted, missing his mother’s firm grace once again. He hoped she never had to deal with these monsters. "Whatever. Let's just hurry it up before it comes back." Nathanial said, turning away to start covering his scent up with the trash. Once he was finished, Nathanial started looking for places for the two of them to hide while they waited for the cyclops to return to it's den. "If you see anywhere for us to hide, let me know." he said to Mathias. |

Ryver's smile grew bigger, if that was even possible. He was glad that Soul was finally starting to get a liking for Camp Half-Blood. "I'm glad you like it then," he stated. He crossed his arms and tapped his fingers in what seemed to be a pattern on his elbows. It was one of his habits that he had. Ryver wondered where they should go to next that wasn't too popular at this time of day. "How about we go check out the stables next," he asked waiting for for her response.
[ Icefire15 ] -------------------- Emma listened to what Valen had to say about her stance. She nodded as he corrected her. She turned her upper body ever so slightly to the right, ever so remembering how her ribs showed through her skin. She gave her head a small shake, clearing the though from her mind. "This look better," she asked Valen. [ Moonblazer ] -------------------- Dakota shivered at the thought of being found by such monsters. They straightened up, not wanting to look like a wimp in front of another person. The thought of those monsters lingered in their mind, however. They looked over at Phi. He seemed a bit more confident and less frightened than they did. "How long are we gonna stay out here?" Soul looked back at Ryver and gave him a small shrug, "I suppose, but I don't think the horses will like it if I get too close." She said. Most animals had a tendency to avoid her, like horses or livestock, so she was always careful not to get too close to them so that she wouldn't cause any problems for them. "But I wouldn't mind seeing it." |

Hunter jumped slightly, having been taking out of his thoughts by Spencer. “Oh uh hey.” He spoke. He shook his head to clear it before continuing. “Yeah I’m fine, just thinking about the attack.” He admitted with a sigh. Quinn heard her name and turned in that direction. Her heart fell when it wasn’t Nathaniel looking for her. “Yeah I just woke up from a nap.” She lied. She had been working on something. Jacob was still pouting when Kumiko walked in. “I’m just frustrated.” He spoke, reaching over to grab what he had thrown. “I’ve been working on something for hours and I can’t get it right.” He said. Kumiko sat down next to him and looked at the object before looking back at Jacob, "So, what's the latest project then?" She prompted, "And what are you struggling with? Maybe a bit of a break will help you." |

And here are some starters for anyone that would like to rp ^.^)
Echo walked into the Dining Pavilion after saying goodbye to Nat and made her way the Aphrodite table. She decided to have a quick dinner before meeting up with the rest of her friends. Talking with Nat had helped her figure out just what she needed to do now. If she wanted to figure out exactly who the traitor was, she was going to have to let her friends in on what she was planning and see if they would be willing to help her out with it. Echo sat down with her dinner and began eating after greeting her half-siblings.
Phoenix swung her sword at the training dummy she was practicing on, deciding that training would help her clear her head. Swinging the sword again, she lopped the head off of the dummy and stepped back in satisfaction. At least her battle skills were still sharp. With everything going on lately, Phoenix hadn't been able to focus very well when she was working in the Forge, but training seemed to bring mind back into focus.
Obsidian sat with Cat under a tree at the outskirts of the forest, the older Hecate daughter helping her younger half-sister with some of the more advanced spells that Obsidian had already learned.

He shrugged. “You might be able to hide in there, if I can pull myself up to the ceiling beams right there and jump down on the bastard.” He looked up, the strategy of combat now overtaking his senses, as it did for most Ares kids when a fight drew near. The thrill, like a predator chasing prey, it was hard to resist in these moments. |

Shadow scoffed at her comment, the thought of multiple people possibly lining up with Circe's statement occurred to him. "At first when I arrived her, absolutely could care less about anyone else. Not even my half-siblings, sometimes those feelings show up every now and again," Shadow said as he reached up and pushed his hand through his hair with a small smirk. "But what I meant was you don't sound like you're of this era, almost like you was a part of the Hunters of Artemis."

“Sounds like a plan.” Nathaniel said, starting towards the dresser. “Let’s hope this monster gets back soon. I don’t want to waste all of my time hiding here.” He said, opening the dresser fully and slipping inside. Nathaniel pulled the doors closed, making sure that there was still a crack that he could see through.

Circe thought for a moment before saying anything, but when she finally did she said, “Well in truth I have thought about joining the hun, but their hatred off all men is not something that even I can condone. Even I am not a cold to believe such a thing.” With a groan she then said, “As for my old style of talking, well that comes from my rather blunt, some would say fridged, nature. I see little point in trying to soften my words or vernacular for others so I don’t. Truthfully, that is why more often than not I choose to stay silent and speak as little as possible in most situations.”

From what Shadow knew of the Hunters of Artemis, a very reserved group of young girls who were devoted to the goddess of the hunt. They did not like having any boys around in their presence, a tradition Shadow didn't mind due to men's arrogance and ignorance to a bigger picture. He learned more by remaining a ghost in the darkness than an avid participant in discussions, at least when he was invited to them. "If that is what you desire, then so be it, but you are correct. Their distain for men can be a little more than just a superiority" Shadow stated with a slight shrug of his shoulders. More so than most, Shadow also agreed that bring a little more reserved and cold-natured brought more knowledge than an activate talker. "I understand that method too. Whilst we all must grow up and deal with issues normal children would only ever have nightmares about; nevertheless we still have to remind ourselves that we are just that, children."

Dakota looked up to see what it was Phi was so afraid of. Surely it couldn't be that bad. They spotted the pair of Stymphalian birds soaring above them. Once they saw the danger above, they began running. They knew it was a bad idea to go out in the forest. They were focusing their energy on shapeshifting when they tripped over a root. Pain shot up their ankle as it twisted beneath them. -------------------- Emma felt a bit flustered as he came and inspected the dagger. She didn't think that there was any damage done to the dagger, but she checked it over just in case. She touched a finger to the sharp part of the blade. In her opinion, it was still sharp enough. "I think it's fine," she answered. She thought that she better let Valen inspect it for himself. She held out the dagger for him to take. "You can check if you want." [ Moonblazer ] -------------------- "I wouldn't worry too much about spooking the horses," he replied with a chuckle, "They already have to deal with a bunch of half-bloods." Ryver was sure that the horses wouldn't be that spooked at Soul's mere presence. They had to deal with dumb half-bloods everyday. The horses were used to people, so it shouldn't be a big deal. |

Circe scoffed a tiny as she said, “The hunters do not act out of a sense of superiority, but out of sheer vitriol. Rather than think that not every male is a heartless brutes, they prefer to condemn all men.” With a groan she crossed her arms before saying, “Honestly Shadow this is more speaking than I have done in a long while. I don’t know why I have bore my so much of myself to you.”
Phi stopped when he heard Dakota fall to the ground and started to panic. Of course they had to fall now of all times. With a growl his eyes started to shift colors as he ignited his powers of madness. Suddenly the birds started to thrash wildly in the air. Hitting each other and nearby trees. As this happened Phi yelled, “Get up and run I can’t hold these things off for long!”

Shadow's hand brushed the side of his black pants with a dismissive twirl. His experience with the Hunters was very limited aside from the Hunter's Lieutenant Sylvia and even then he avoids her out of respect for her space. Nothing like being here instead of out in the world with her fellow Hunters. "Ehhh.. still your decision on that" Shadow grunted, ignoring the comment about men. While he had hardly ever interacted with Circe before this conversation, Shadow didn't mind speaking with her. His attention switched back out in the distance on the lake and said, "Sometimes, while we may not prefer it, an cordial interaction can be exactly what is needed."
