Kirk walked in, the door sliding open and then shut as he did. He glanced around the room, and a slightly guilty feeling hit him. She hadn’t even had time to unpack. He took a few steps closer to her, still glancing about the room. He tried to make some sense out of the maps and other information strewn about, but he didn’t know enough to gather anything else. “Because they’re like our culture was or because the women can wear what they want?” He asked, almost absentmindedly. He was still trying to figure out what the information in front of him was and how it could tie into the war that was soon approaching.
Jim walked another few steps closer to her, scanning the room. “How bad do you think this will all turn out?” He asked. He knew he couldn’t ask too much from her. He typically wouldn’t ask a crew member what they thought the outcome would be, unless it was maybe Spock, McCoy or Scotty. She was the only one who seemed to know enough to be able to answer his worries, though.

Logan took a step in and before he realized it, she was gone and back again. “Damn speedsters..” he muttered under his breath. He took the clothes and glanced at the washroom, then back at her, but she was gone. He huffed, then turned and moved slowly into the washroom. He washed up and changed, then spent a few minutes cleaning the washroom from the remains of his mess. Once done, Logan left the washroom and threw his dirty clothes near the door before making his way to the kitchen. She said to make himself at home, after all. He had intended to do that.

"Honestly, I don't know. " Abby sighed, not looking away from her mess and answering two birds with one stone. "How much information did he give you related to their culture and political system? I have almost nothing on the political system beyond a bare bones of their setup which is unlike the bastard." She mused finally looking at Kirk. "And part of the plan seems to include you attending a diplomatic tour and banquet. With the unstable political I don't like it. I have very little to go with, but from I understand it's important for the Federation for whatever reason. If it wasn't for that reason, the Federation wouldn't even consider it because of how unstable the system is." She mused, confused. "The Federation envoy is already there and has been for the last few days."

It was about 15 minutes after Kate disappeared that she came back. Her hair was up in a twisty towl to dry and moving at abnormal slow pace. She came into the kitchen, heavily leaning on chairs and walls. Kate definitely looked worse for wear and perhaps a bit pale. "So what's the plan?" She asked, opening a draw and grabbing a bar wrapped in aluminum. Unwrapping it, she started to munch on it. Until Logan was done with whatever he was doing, she would stay out of the kitchen.

James sighed, having known that his more serious question could not be easily answered. He shrugged slightly at the returned question. “The only thing I was told about their culture was that it was reminiscent of past human culture. My briefing included a few very basic greeting dos and donts, and a referral to both the you and the Admiral for any questions I may have.” To be honest, what he had received was not incredibly helpful. Even the do’s and donts were very basic suggestions, not even a positive do or do not. “I did see some instructions on the tour and banquet.” The instructions and descriptions seemed fairly common for such an event, just with a few more advisories. He had found it odd how little information was provided for such a mission, one that seemed so important. That worried him more. “What have you figured out about the Enterprise’s role in all of this?”

Logan had gotten into her fridge before she had come out. He had pulled out several leftovers. He had spent the past 15 minutes heating them up in a microwave and eating them one by one. He watched Kate come in, still finishing up one of the last leftovers he had pulled out. She looked worse than when he’d last seen her. “You gonna be alright?” He ignored her question, knowing a plan would do her no good if she stayed in this state. He finished his last bit of food and shifted towards the edge of the kitchen, now wondering if he shouldn’t have eaten all of what he had heated up, and possibly should’ve saved some for her.

"At best a ferry for diplomats and at worst spies and work horses. I still don't know why he picked Enterprise. There's ships out there that have crews that are this and this alone." Abby shook her head. "He had no right to throw this at you let alone me. He had his new toys to deal with this." Abby shook her head in disgust. "We're going in there blind. The main threat is at the Grand Exit. It looks like it is the morning after the banquet and party. So there's that at least. The banquet is for you, the diplomats, and their significant others. Which leaves little room for guards." She sighed. "Most of the logistics I haven't figured out. How much longer till we arrive?"

While James was proud of his crew, he knew that was true. Some ships were specifically for these types of missions. The crew and the very ship itself had been designed to handle these intense diplomatic situations. The Enterprise, while capable, or at least he felt was capable, was not the absolute best fit for this situation. Kirk listened to her information, not looking incredibly pleased with the situation. Didn’t sound like they would be able to easily pull in a larger team. He may be going into this alone. “Well, it’s been about 12 hours...” he trailed off. They were close to getting there, and she needed more time.

(So I just finished watching Turn Washington's spies and my brain is kind of missing that world. Would it be alright if we kinda went in the whole American vs British spy way since I kinda forgot how this was supposed to go?)

(Dude you have no idea I just watched Kingsman, Wild Wild West and The Man from U. N. C. L. E. like I was literally just on here trying to figure out how to set up a roleplay for spy junk on this new website format. I would love to do something in that sense, I am completely fine on leading it that way because honestly I don’t remember either.)

"I'll be fine. Reason why I have these things. About 500 calories per bar." Kate stated, motioning to the wrap. She hopped over to her frig and opened a bag of raw chicken breast and threw them in a pan with some salt, pepper and olive oil. "Still haven't figured out how much I need to eat in order to keep my speed up and going." She sighed, pulling a stool to her oven top. By now she should of probably eaten and be sleeping by now. But alas nothing worked out for her. Kate was staring at her chicken for a moment before opening a bag of Cheetos and dried apple slices into two bowls and started to munch on both.

Logan looked at the wrapper, halfway not believing her. He would’ve guessed there was at best 50 calories. “Fair enough.” He grunted, watching her now begin to fix a chicken. “I’d imagine you’d have to eat the weight of a bull to keep it up.” He joked, smiling a little. Logan pulled another stool closer to where he had been standing and took a seat, sitting down. “Now this plan you’re asking about, you talking about to take out Sabretooth? Or does this town have other issues you’re truing to take out?” He was going to drag his feet on actually agreeing to team up with her on anything. Eventually he would agree.

"Twelve hours... I didn't notice. Four to sleep. Hour before we leave to finalize prep. Seven hours prep. That's not even enough." Abby sighed, shaking her head. Her index finger started tapping her other elbow. "There's no way in hell that I'm letting you go down there alone, after all this is mission. There's gotta be a better way." She scrambled through three or four PADDs before arriving at the PADD Abby needed. "I didn't have the time nor interest to read the last five pages of the briefing. That damn bastard." Abby kept the PADD in hand and flashed through a few maps till she found what she needed. "That damn bastard. I think I may know what we're missing why 'Star Fleet' is so interested in this planet. Ship building materials along with deuterium." She pointed out two massive deposits that weren't very far between. "This isn't showing the materials for more ships, that's in the middle. But Cartwright's not with shipbuilding."
At that moment a slight look of horror came across Abby's face and a plan started to come together. She dove for another PADD, it was obvious that things were starting to come together. "I need to get down to that planet. Call Spock and get him to come here, he's still the first officer right? Tell him it's urgent. He needs to come. This needs to involve dress uniforms for men. Holy hell no. T'Aimnu and I have to wear this." Abby started to growl in annoyance. "I get this to the Quartermaster to make this. I'll explain everything when everyone is here. And McCoy too down the road." A few moments later she had called T'Aimnu to get her butt down here asap.

"Those bars are better than trying to eat a 100 tacos." Kate sighed, the moment her chicken was done, pulling a knife and a fork out. She started to eat what had to be a pound of chicken, in addition to the all the Cheetos and apples she'd pulled out earlier. "Sabretooth, or at least get him out of town. He's caused way too much trouble as it is. If he continues, he and he alone would make life for meta nearly impossible to live here." She mused.

Kirk didn’t like the idea of going down there, blind and alone, much either. He looked over Abby’s shoulder when she pointed out the resources of the planet. A ‘diplomatic’ mission to a planet who just happened to have some important materials? Figures. When Abby said Cartwright wasn’t with shipbuilding, he figured he would want the other materials. That was the real interest.
Jim watched Abby begin to look panicked. “Spock is, yeah.” He responded. He almost didn’t want Abby going, not in her mental state. Deep down he didn’t want to have to worry about her on the planet surface, but he knew he needed her knowledge with him. He nodded, then called Spock, giving him the brief message to come to Abby’s quarters and that it was urgent.
When Spock got the message, he immediately closed out of what he was doing and headed to her quarters. Spock suspected that whatever it was had something to do with the new mission, and the planet they were approaching. He also considered the fact that this could have something to do with the two humans’ relationship, but he hoped Jim wouldn’t pull him into something like that. His human friend had sounded stressed, though, so it was definitely one of the two if it evolved Abby.
Spock reaches Abby’s door and was let in by Kirk. Even the Vulcan could tell his friend looked like he was under some pressure. He greeted the Captain, then Abby, briefly and stepped inside.

“Quite a bar.” Logan muttered, almost to himself. He watched her eat the chicken, getting hungry again himself. He searched around the kitchen for a moment, then came back to his stool with a bag of chips. “He causes trouble everywhere he goes. Hell, that mangy cat is Trouble itself.” He huffed. “Maybe we can put some pepper out and he’ll get it on his paws.” He snorted, mocking his enemy as he ate some Lay’s. “Well, if you really do want to push him out, I’d piss him off, then trick him into thinking I had left town. If I was you. It ain’t hard to trick him.”

In the time that they were waiting for Spock, Abby had darted down to the Quartermaster's and with some alterations, had the dresses being made. On the way back, she met up with T'Aimnu, barely beating Spock. "Thanks Spock and T'Aimnu for getting down here as quickly as you did. T'Aimnu you were right, the bastard is keeping something from even us, not that I'm even surprised. He's out for material for the Sector." Abby took a breath, glancing at the maps in spite. "Ok Spock, guys, here's the plan." Abby then proceeded to tell Spock everything that he required to know.
"Given that this society is most similar to 18th century Earth, will require that the men wear dress uniforms. T'Aimnu I've got the quartermaster working on ours. This banquet is for the Diplomats and their wives or significant other. You know T'Aimnu why we couldn't figure out why the Enterprise? Well, it's the Flagship, therefore essentially power to this group. Therefore Kirk, his First and possibly even CMO, I haven't decided on if McCoy should come. I don't think so. As For you two." Abby motioned to Spock and Kirk. "Will need to go along with almost any lie Abby and T'Aimnu speak. We don't know if there will be any spies there. That's my only concern. T'Aimnu, your position, I haven't figured as Spock's mate or a righthand man to Kirk or I. You and Spock will need to discuss what you would be most comfortable doing." Abby started pacing, not wanting to forget anything. "We need someone to act as wife or else they will be suspicious. Sorry for putting you in such a spot. Any questions." She seemed way too comfortable giving order like she was. "The real issue is the Grand Exit the morning after the banquet. If we're not lucky it's going to be a blood bath. I will also request that one security guard come with us. We will be allowed that."
"We have gone through worse Abigail." T'Aimnu nodded.

"I have another pound of chicken in the fridge if you don't mind cooking.." Kate stated. "If only it was that easy. Any ideas on how to do that?" She queried after a small laugh. "Preferably without becoming a flayed speedster?" She added, grimacing after she moved her leg. "Again?" Kate leaned over slightly and grabbed an apple.

Spock nodded and paid attention to the information he was given by Abigail, eventually catching up to nearly the same level of information as Jim. He had recently had questions as to why the Enterprise had been chosen, even more than Kirk, but now those questions were answered. He seemed fine enough with the suggested lies he would have to go with, if it was essential to the mission and to their safety. It did surprise Spock slightly that Abby was so easily taking command, but his surprise was not visible. What did get a slight reaction out of him was the suggestion of T’Aimnu pretending to be his mate. His eyebrow raised, for a moment, as he looked at the other Vulcan. It was only for a moment, and then it was gone again and Spock was looking at one of the PADDS in Abby’s room. “Will we only be permitted access for one security guard to beam down?” He asked, almost immediately after noticing that Jim had been giving him a look.
James stayed silent during Abby’s explanation. He wasn’t used to getting orders on his ship, but he trusted her and knew she was the most knowledgeable about the challenges ahead. When she suggested that T’Aimnu and Spock pretend to be mates, he couldn’t help but grin a little, despite the stress. The look on Spock’s face, however small, was noticeable to his friend and amusing. He looked back at Abby when Spock asked the question, losing the grin. Not because of the question, but because he had a realization. That meant Abby and him had to pretend to be significant others. That would be... interesting. He drew his mind off the subject by building onto Spock’s question. “How many people do you think we can get down there tops, without raising suspicions?”

“That would be great.” Logan put the chips down, got up, and pulled the chicken out of the fridge. He prepared it briefly with some sauce he had found near the chicken, then put it in the oven. He laughed a little at her question, glancing back as if to check on her leg. “I dunno. I mean, I know about the pissing off part. I do it too often. The other part... Tricking him... It’s not impossible, but... I’m running out of tricks.” He sighed, losing his smile. “If we drew him out far enough, confused his sense, that may work. Once his sniffers gone, I found he loses his head.”

Abby grimaced. "I don't know Spock, I really don't know how much they or the rebels even know how our ships work Spock. But with only guard, I don't like it either. I think we may be able to get one more, but I don't want to take advantage of their generosity of us bringing down the 'significant others'. The farthest I've got is that I'll be posing at as the chief of intelligence, but given their beliefs towards women. Because as the old saying goes, loose lips sink ships. And there's a lot of unknowns that I need to get before we leave." The woman looked at T'Aimnu, the meaning clear to the Vulcan. They both intended to get to the bottom of why Cartwright wanted this planet, she was pretty sure it had to do with Section 31. Abby wanted to keep Section 31 as far away from herself and the Enterprise as possible.
"I'm not so sure they'll take kindly to that. Me being in such a position on an active ship that is. They seem to be the type where woman are to be behind the lines, working with men on most anything. Kind of like America in the late twentieth century. Women weren't allowed to be in combative positions. Which isn't the case anymore of course with Earth." Abby sighed. "And in accordance with their traditions, we will have to spend the night. Again I hate that part, but we don't want to offend them. But back to your question Spock, I think we can bring two guards and if push comes to shove, we send one back to the ship. I'll send everyone in this room what I have on their cultural and political system, which isn't as much as I would like. Jim if at all possible, could we use a shuttle for transport?"

Jim nodded, looking absolutely dissatisfied with the situation. If more information was available, he wouldn’t worry as much about security. He wasn’t sure just how much they could get away with, between security, the significant others and Abby’s position. He still didn’t feel like all of that would be enough anyways. And they would be stuck in the same room? Fantastic. Before, James would have loved to have been spending the night with a woman. Now, things had changed. He had changed. He also wasn’t sure how uncomfortable things would be with Abby. On top of all of this, they would be on a planet that would turn into a possible bloodbath the next morning. “I’ll make sure a shuttles ready.” He replied, forcing himself to sound less worried than he was.
Spock, deep down, could feel a sense of uncertainty begin to grow. This mission seemed to be more like those of an exploration, but with a diplomatic seal on it. There was definitely something ‘off’ about it, as a human may describe. He nodded once Abby had completely finished answering his question. While it did make the most sense to make Abigail their chief of intelligence in this situation, he wondered what the cultural implications would be.

Kate sighed. "Already, so how can we block the nose from working?" She asked, putting her dishes in the sink. After that she looked back at Logan for the answer to her question. "Any particular scents? Chemicals? Heck even phenomes?" She throws everything out there.

“Got perfume?” Logan joked, knowing they’d probably need several sense and something stronger than a bottle of perfume. “Pheromones may actually be a good idea.” He muttered as he waited for his chicken. “I was just gonna suggestion some strong tar, rubber and motor oil smells. Get him lost on the road. Pheromones might work better.”

"I know for a fact that all of us are not satisfied with the information that has been provided. I'll go back through everything and make sure I didn't miss anything, but I doubt it. I should think we would all get our own rooms, from what I've read. It's improper to spend the night with the opposite gender unless married or engaged. But seeing the similarities between Earth and them, it's not law which is good. I'm not sure though." Abby sighed, rubbing her face for a moment. "Thanks Jim. Anything other questions or concerns? Would one of you mind bringing McCoy in here? I need to make sure he's ready to go the morning we come back. I really don't have a good feeling about it. But that's not saying much from me." She nodded once more. There wasn't much more she could say. "You may want to tell the entire crew what's going in terms of us picking up some diplomats."

"I've got some oil down in the garage. I don't use the car that often anymore?" Kate mused, though she jerked at Logan's comment with the pheromones. "I was just kidding about it. I was just throwing stuff out. You really think that would work?" She wondered. "I could probably get some, I still have a few contacts out there. Really?" She was in all honesty blown away. "Are you guys ruled by biology?" Her last comment was more of a joke, a really bad one, but a joke nonetheless.

Both Jim and Spock were relieved that they’d get their own room. Jim’s reaction was more visible than Spock’s, even though their relief was about the same degree. Jim nodded at the question. “I’ll get Bones.” He took a moment to send out the message for McCoy to come to Abby’s quarters. Once he was done, he addressed the next suggestion Abby had. “I’ll tell everyone before we leave on the shuttle. And I’ll catch up the security members on anything we’ve discussed here.”
