โ
Honeypaw โ
When her face was clawed, she was once again knocked to the ground. The blow was more jarring than painful, and it was several seconds before the world stopped spinning. When she looked up, Hazelsplash was standing over her. The fear and concern in the older she-cat's eyes were palpable.
"Can you walk?" asked the warrior. Honeypaw nodded and sat up a bit. There was a dull sting in her stomach, but the adrenalin prevented her from feeling the pain of her wounds. The world was still spinning.
"Yeah," she answered, though she wasn't so sure. She willed herself to stand up, but her body felt like it was weighed down. Sighing softly, she lay back as if she were getting sleepy. "In a minute," she added, closing her eyes. Her body went comfortably limp. Then she felt Hazelsplash nose her fur, nudging her to get up.
"Come on, we've got to get out of here," urged the warrior.
Honeypaw allowed herself to be pushed into a standing position. She stood gingerly, trying not to move excessively because she was still lightheaded. When she looked up again, Brambleshade was there too. He looked a bit battered, but Honeypaw was relieved to see him mostly intact.
"Is she alright?" he asked, more to Hazelsplash than to Honeypaw. Honeypaw gave a dazed nod
Suddenly her eyes widened and she looked back in the direction of the path. "Brambleshade?" she asked, looking a bit panicked. The enemy warriors were now retreating and she could see them running up the hill out of the corner of her eye. But that was not what she was looking for. Her expression relaxed significantly when she spotted it lying untouched on the path: her thrush. "Will someone carry my bird back to camp?" she asked hoarsely.

(I have had Honeypaw for one day and if anything happened to her, I would kill everyone in this room and them myself)

โ
Shadowsong โ
The other tom fought valiantly, but was no match against Shadowsong, as bitterly enraged as he was. He slashed out with his claws, raking them along Pinehollowโs chest, cutting through fur and flesh until blood sprayed. He snapped his jaws at Pinehollowโs throat and face several times and managed to land a few glancing bites; two of his long teeth caught and pierced Pinehollowโs ear. He raked his claws down the other tomโs flank, unleashing all of his rage and fear on his enemy. He sank his teeth into the tomโs scruff and wrestled him to the ground, kicking at Pinehollowโs back with his hind legs. The fight was brutal and even though Pinehollow managed to land a few blows on Shadowsong, lashing with his claws, the black tom didnโt feel any pain โ barely felt the blows. He was too worked up, too infuriated, to feel anything but the wind as Pinehollowโs claws slashed through his pelt.
The CrowClan managed to claw Shadowsongโs shoulder and landed a blow that almost caught Shadowsongโs eye, but he ignored it, and continued to thrash Pinehollow about the clearing. Their fight seemed to last an eternity, but in reality it was only a few seconds before the red-brown tom managed to break free, leaping out of Shadowsongโs reach. He glared at Shadowsong, green eyes burning with venom. โStonestar sends his regards,โ the other tom hissed, before whirling to slash his claws at Honeypaw again. The little black she-cat flinched and reeled back. Shadowsongโs rage only flared again, and even as the brown tom was calling for his clan to retreat, Shadowsong was lunging forward again, sinking his claws into Pinehollowโs flesh. He dragged the brown cat to him again, opening his jaws and sinking them into Pinehollowโs shoulder with such ferocity he swore his teeth scraped against bone. The two tussled briefly again before Shadowsong managed to get a grip on the brown tomโs hind leg. He twisted the limb so hard he was surprised the bone didnโt break, and only when Pinehollow squealed in pain did he release the cat.
โGive Stonestar my regards,โ the black tom hissed, chasing after the CrowClan cats as they beat a hasty retreat. He landed one more fierce bite on Pinehollowโs tail before the red-brown tom managed to escape with the rest of his clanmates.
Once the enemies had cleared out, Shadowsong stood still for a moment, flanks heaving with each great breath he drew in. His pelt stung in several places where Pinehollow had managed to claw him, but he ignored the pain and shelved it for another day. After a few heartbeats, he managed to calm down enough that his vision was no longer covered in a red haze, and he turned to check on his clanmates. Brambleshade looked fairly slashed up, with a particularly nasty bite oozing blood on his cheek, but he was still standing. Hazelsplash had a few wounds, but she also wasnโt hurt too badly. It was Honeypaw that had Shadowsongโs concern. The right side of her face was a bit clawed up, but the wounds werenโt bleeding too badly. Still, the fact that Honeypaw was sort of collapsed on the ground worried him deeply. Hazelsplash and Brambleshade had rushed to her side and managed to get the apprentice standing. Shadowsong cursed when he realized that the red-brown tom had managed to claw Honeypawโs underside. She was bleeding, although not drastically enough to indicate the wounds were anything but relatively shallow, but it was clear that she was in shock.
With Brambleshade and Hazelsplash supporting her, the trio began to move down the path in the direction of camp. Honeypaw panicked briefly, looking around for something. Shadowsong followed her line of sight and foundโฆ a dead thrush. He stifled the urge to roll his eyes even as relief bloomed through him. If she was still concerned about her prey, then she wasnโt injured too badly.
โGet her back to camp, and all three of you go see the medicine cat,โ Shadowsong ordered. โIโm going to make sure those cats have left.โ With that, the deputy whirled and launched himself into the foliage, where his form was swallowed by his namesake.
