[ Yes I love that! It could be part of apprentice training to learn those skills, and perhaps it's common for older apprentices who have already mastered how to "work with their paws" to be assigned to going around and checking all of their dens and paw-built structures perhaps twice a moon or so to ensure that they haven't begun to lose their stability or patch up holes.
GrassClan is cool with me c: Is there anything else to work out territory wise or with the clan? Do you want any established landmarks, like a river/stream, or a rock pile, or anything of the sort? ]

[ Muse A would definitely get stuck with going through training and even shouldered with apprentice work, poor kitty c'x
A water source is definitely a necessity so a stream is good c: I think that's pretty much everything we need as far as basics go, I've got some of the clan allegiances started so hopefully I'll finish with them shortly. ^^ ]

[ Alright here we go! c: I hope my taking some creative license with the clan's recent history was okay, but if you aren't a fan just let me know I can edit the post. ] --- Mudstripe
It was the beginning of a new day for GrassClan. The sun was starting to peak over the horizon and bathe the sky in a warm pink-orange glow, giving the rousing cats some daylight as the clan prepared themselves for another morning of hard work. It was one of GrassClan’s cherished principles—hard work was how warriors were made, and a cat needed to learn the importance of working with their paws if they truly wanted to achieve anything. There were no easy ways out or shortcuts in GrassClan—everyone contributed to making the clan function to its fullest and pulled their weight.
Perhaps it was due to these beliefs that tensions had been rather high among the clan the past few days. As Mudstripe poked his brown tabby head out of the warriors’ den to survey the clearing, he wasn’t surprised to see that most of his clanmates were already awake. What did catch the tom slightly off guard was the chilly atmosphere that was palpable—usually his clanmates were lively and ready to begin their chores in high spirits. But the unusual reserved tone was thick in the air and Mudstripe, as much as he hated it, knew the reason why.
GrassClan had fallen on hard times during their most recent Leaf-bare. A spike of greencough cost the clan two warriors, an apprentice, and even Crowstar had lost a life to the illness. Now the clan wasn’t a stranger to death—as morbid as the thought was, it was just the way clan life worked. Living in the wild had its consequences, but losing three cats at once as well as seeing their leader deathly sick took a toll on Mudstripe and his clanmates. It didn’t help that there were no kits in the clan for a long while, raising some concern about the future of GrassClan. With Dustheart’s new litter, some of those fears were abated, but Mudstripe knew that Crowstar was still worried. It was Green-leaf currently, but Leaf-bare would come again.
Thus, it didn’t shock Mudstripe when Crowstar announced to GrassClan that they would be accepting an outsider into the clan. Crowstar wanted his clan to thrive, and the best way to ensure GrassClan’s strength was to boost their numbers. Mudstripe understood, but many of his clanmates didn’t agree.
Hence the aforementioned tension in the air. Mudstripe didn’t like the atmosphere, but he was of the minority in siding with Crowstar and his decision. There wasn’t much Mudstripe could do to change his clanmates’ minds. They’ll just have to come to terms with everything on their own, the tom mused to himself, padding towards the camp entrance where the dawn patrol was meeting to begin their rounds of GrassClan territory. Mudstripe had been assigned to the patrol today and he was itching to get out of camp and away from the frostiness that had settled over his clanmates.
”Good morning,” Mudstripe meowed to Sunsky, the GrassClan deputy. The she-cat acknowledged the brown feline’s greeting with a dip of her head, but remained silent. Sunsky was a good deputy—responsible and firm, but she wasn’t one for pleasantries.
I see we’re still waiting for a few cats, Mudstripe noted, wishing his fellow patrol mates would hurry and join them so they could get their rounds started.

Peach - GrassClan Camp - w/ embercurse 's Mudstripe It was another day in a camp she was still trying to get used to. The sharp morning light was beginning to trickle into the warrior's den, hitting the sandy orange she-cat's face in an uncomfortable fashion. She was beginning to suspect that the warriors who had helped her set up her nest had chosen that spot for a specific reason. Slowly rising to her paws, she gave her fur a small shake and blinked her eyes as they adjusted. Well, at least it keeps me from sleeping in too much.. The former rogue thought with a small sigh. She was still far from used to the ridge schedule of the clan cats. For practically all her life, she was able to control her own schedule without concern of setting back others. It was going to be a difficult change to get used to but having sunlight hit your face in the early morning certainly helped.
She just wished she had friendlier faces to wake up to.
Almost as soon as she took a step out of the den, she felt the burning gazes of nearby cats that made her pelt prickle slightly from uneasiness. Peach had been eager to leave behind her life as a rogue, one that she believed to be a cold path with few allies and many enemies. However, the clan currently didn't feel much different. At least these cats are less likely to attack me. She reminded herself. As much as she wanted to walk amongst them as an equal and accepted clan mate, the orange she-cat had too much pride to simply roll over in hopes of pleasing those that viewed her as a threat. Instead, she remained quiet and focused on the duties she was given, her current one being the dawn patrol. She guessed that the deputy or leader had chosen her for it in hopes of getting her more used to the territory and concept of borders.
Spotting Sunsky- one of the few cats she could properly recognize- at the camp entrance with a dark brown tabby tom who's name simply slipped the rogue's mind. Peach picked up her pace slightly and trotted over to join the patrol. As she approached, so did another one of the warriors. A pure white tom who Peach recalled having the prefix of Sheep. Of course, the only reason she could recall his name was because she remembered him speaking out against Crowstar's decision to let her into their precious clan. His less than friendly gaze told her that he still wasn't happy about his leader's decision.
Turning her head away from him, she shifted her dark gaze onto the deputy and dipped her head in a respectful manner before glancing at the other cats of the patrol. "Morning." she greeted quietly.
(I liked it! I think it fits really well cx )

[ Okay cool ^^ ] --- Mudstripe
When Mudstripe turned his gaze and saw who was approaching, the tom straightened up and titled his head curiously. It was the former rogue that was the source of such contention within GrassClan, yet Mudstripe had yet to speak a word to the she-cat. She had only been with the clan for a few days and he hadn’t been assigned to any of the same work. Until today, it seems.
Her name was Peach, and Mudstripe didn’t know what to make of her yet. She had stirred up his clanmates, but the feline herself had been rather quiet and did as instructed without complaint. It was because of this that the tom saw the potential in the orange tabby to become a good GrassClan warrior, but others seemed to be ignoring Peach’s display of discipline in order to foster their distrust of her.
One such cat was Sheepcall, and Mudstripe’s heart sank when he saw the pure white tom would also be joining the dawn patrol. At the announcement of Peach’s recruitment, Sheepcall had been one to express his opinion quite clearly and with passion. The tom had always been headstrong, but it discouraged Mudstripe to see so many of his clanmates speak against a cat that had yet to display ill intentions.
Mudstripe saw the way Sheepcall threw a less than welcoming glance at Peach before proceeding to ignore her greeting. It made the brown tabby bristle, but he held his tongue. It would do no good to hiss at a fellow warrior in front of Sunsky.
Instead, Mudstripe turned his head and dipped his chin at Peach, giving a quick meow of a greeting before turning to pay attention as the GrassClan deputy rose to her paws from where she had been patiently sitting.
“Alright, now that we’re all here, we need to be on our way.” The she-cat paused as her gaze settled on the ginger tabby. “Peach, I’m sure you’ve gathered that Crowstar assigned you to this patrol to show you more of our territory. Our borders are important to us because they signify this land as our home—and demonstrate to others to stay out. It’s imperative that the border patrols scentmark the boundaries everyday. You’ll be doing much of this in the future I’m sure.”
The deputy finished and gave a flick of her ears, a sign that Sunsky was done speaking before turning and briskly walking out of camp. Sheepcall followed right behind her, but not before knocking shoulders with Peach on his way out.
Mudstripe jumped to his paws, watching Sheepcall go with a shake of his head. Fox-brain. As the brown tom began to trail after his clanmates, he glanced at Peach and gave an encouraging twitch of his whiskers. “C’mon, the territory is the best when nobody else is out yet—s’all peaceful still.” He tilted his head before continuing. "I'm Mudstripe, by the way. I don't think we've properly met."

Peach - GrassClan Territory - w/ embercurse 's Mudstripe Peach glanced over at the brown tabby that returned her greeting. She was a bit glad to know that at least for this patrol the number of cats that tolerated her seemed to outweigh the amount of cats that didn't. Unable to dwell on the thought for very long, she turned her attention over to Sunsky as the deputy spoke up. As the deputy confirmed her original assumptions about the patrol, she nodded her head in silent understanding. Sunsky was a difficult cat to read. She was very formal, something that Peach found herself appreciating as her personal opinions were never obvious. Much unlike the white warrior, Sheepsomething.
The orange tabby was just beginning to take a step to follow after Sunsky, eager to officially see the territory. However, she barely placed a paw down when the fluffy white tom knocked against her shoulder and pushed past her. Peach flickered her ears back briefly in irritation but said nothing as she let him pass. Though his actions did irritate her, they weren't worth wasting breath over.
The voice of Mudstripe caught her off guard and she shifted her gaze onto the brown tabby as he encouraged her. She blinked, surprised by his friendliness. Well, his politeness at the very least. Having been getting used to the glares of her clanmates, it was refreshing to have someone at least non-hostile towards her. The orange tabby gave a small nod and moved to pad up next to him as they followed Sunsky out of camp. "Good to know," she mused with a small smile. "I don't believe we have. I'm Peach, although I'm sure you already knew that."
Her whiskers twitched in amusement and she shifted her gaze ahead. "I suppose now is a good time as any to ask but uh, which border is this patrol heading to today?" she asked, lowering her voice slightly. Mudstripe seemed nice enough to ask but the last thing she wanted was Sheep overhearing and pointing out her lack of knowledge to the deputy.

--- Mudstripe
Mudstripe took in a deep breath as the duo trailed after Sunsky and Sheepcall. The warrior wasn’t just speaking to hear his own voice when he said that GrassClan territory was the best early in the morning when the rest of his clanmates were still at camp. The plains weren’t yet trampled by paws and there were fewer scents to intermingle and take away from that of prey or plants. Just the thought of food had Mudstripe’s stomach rumbling, but the warrior ignored the cry. A hunting patrol would be sent out shortly, and would probably get back sooner than Mudstripe and his patrol mates. That means fresh mice when we get back, the tom thought, his mouth watering.
At the sound of Peach’s voice, Mudstripe turned his head to face the she-cat. The pair were trailing a few tail-lengths back from Sunsky and Sheepcall, which Mudstripe appreciated now that he and the ginger tabby were engaged in conversation. The last thing they needed was the white tom voicing his distaste for the former rogue right now.
“Yes, I may have heard about you.” Mudstripe admitted, but kept his tone neutral. Much of what the tabby tom had heard hadn’t been pleasant, but he wasn’t going to let that influence his own opinion of Peach. From what little he had seen the past few days the she-cat was a hard worker and kept away from engaging with the more vocal opponents of her presence, which meant she was smart. Mudstripe was open to giving her a fair chance.
At her more hushed tone Mudstripe cast a quick glance towards Sunsky and Sheepcall, realizing that the she-cat was more than aware of the white warrior’s disdain.
“We’re heading towards the stream that marks one end of our territory,” Mudstripe responded, keeping his voice on the lower side as well, “it’s our best source of fresh water around here. If you were to go in the opposite direction,” the brown tom tossed his head away from where the patrol was walking, “you would run into the twolegs home, which marks another part of our border.”
The tom hesitated a moment before continuing, making sure that the others up ahead wouldn’t hear him. “I’m sorry about Sheepcall—he’s tough to deal with on his best day, and lately he’s had his head screwed on backwards. But he’ll come around,” Mudstripe meowed, hoping it was the truth, “and so will the others.”

(( okayss c; here’s her description lol it’s kind of long ? i feel that i was just rambling haha
Brightpaw . she-cat . 6 moons old Brightpaw is naturally small and quite thin; full grown, she would probably still be no bigger than the size of an apprentice. She is constantly teased that she needs to eat more fresh-kill when in reality, she can eat a whole rabbit to herself. Brightpaw is a dilute tortie, her base color being a light gray with lots of patches of light brown and white splattered over her pelt, all the colors blurred being together. She has long, thick fur, and her tail is quite long and very fluffy. She has one all white ear and one all brown ear with tufts of fur in each. Brightpaw has striking green eyes and pretty long, sharp claws that she admires and shows off whenever she can. Brightpaw is very active and loves to just run around camp. As kits, she was always seen running around and attacking practically anything that moved. She has never-ending energy, but at the same time, she would sleep the whole day away if she was allowed. As a kit, she always dreamed of going out on a hunting patrol and bringing back loads of fresh kill for her and her clan. To match her bubbly energy, Brightpaw has a very bubbly personality; she is friendly to all cats and loves making new friends, but at the same time she knows when to tell a cat off and when to fight if she needs to.

Peach - GrassClan Territory - w/ embercurse 's Mudstripe Peach nodded her head as Mudstripe described the borders to her. She was grateful that he was willing to spare the time to explain the spots of the borders to her. The only border she was familiar with was the one she had crossed in order to enter the clan. Neither of which were the ones that he described. It'd be difficult to remember all of the information that was being thrown at her everyday but the she-cat tried to make a mental note of the border locations. "Thanks. I'll try to remember all that." she mumbled with a small nod.
Having grown up in a world without borders, it was definitely a sharp change. Rogues often wandered as they pleased and only ever bother to guard their dens or freshly caught prey. While she understood the concept of protecting the borders of her new clan, she had a feeling actually acting on it would be far more difficult when her instincts told her otherwise. The she-cat was just beginning to focus her gaze back ahead, assuming that their conversation would die down after she had gotten her question answered. As Mudstripe spoke up again, she turned her head to look curiously over at him as he apologized about Sheepcall's behavior towards her.
She paused, not sure what to say at first. Mainly because she didn't want to say the first thing on her mind which was, most of the clan acts like their heads are screwed on backwards. Peach was quick to guess that wasn't an appropriate thing to say, especially to one of the few cats that was tolerating her presence. "One can hope." she agreed with a soft sigh. "I don't need them to like me but I'd certainly be grateful to not receive glares every time I woke up."
She paused before adding, "I suppose new things are scary though, so I can't blame them too much." she mused with a shrug and looked over at Mudstripe with a smile. "So with that in mind, thank you for not being scared."
