Heatherpool - RiverClan Territory - w/ Shadowkit 's Ebonywhisker Heatherpool paused in her steps as Ebonywhisker responded to her with words she found to be rather sad. Sure it was true that she didn't have to help him but in her opinion, there wasn't any reason for her to treat him coldly. Not to mention the thought of treating him coldly just to appease her clanmates nearly made the she-cat snort. Turning to look over her shoulder at him, she noticed the tom staring solely at his paws. The warrior let out a sigh and flicked his ears with her tail to get his eyes up from the ground and on to her. Coming to a halt, she dropped her ball of moss on the ground so she could speak clearly.
"First off, I'm sure you're capable of taking care of yourself but a lot just happened and you have a lot to get used to. Doing you a few small favors is the least I can do." she responded with a shrug. Her words were a bit blunt but only because the warrior truly didn't think much of what she was doing to help him adjust to life in RiverClan. "And quite frankly, I'm not concerned about the gossip my clanmates might say. If they wish to think low of me just because I'm doing what I can to help you accommodate to this life, then let them." The cream colored warrior raised her head a little higher, as if already preparing to act defiantly against anyone that said anything about how she treated the former ShadowClan cat. Though perhaps a tad arrogant, Heatherpool was aware of her worth as a warrior and she was fairly certain Brookstar was aware of that as well. With her leader on her side, clan gossip was a waste of energy.
Relaxing her features a bit more, she gave Ebonywhisker a smile. "I meant what I said about us one day being clanmates. And when that day comes, their opinions now will not only be wrong but they will also be irrelevant." she meowed with unwavering certainty. Heatherpool smirked at him and jokingly added, "So don't tell me what to do." Picking the ball of moss back up, she began to continue their way back to camp..

Ebonywhisker wasn’t exactly prepared for her reaction. Heatherpool took his words seriously, he could tell from the flick of his ears, to the way she turned, dropped the moss onto the floor of the Riverclan territory, and turned to face him. He knew, before she spoke, that this wasn’t a small matter to her, for whatever reason.
She wasn’t wrong, saying that he had a lot placed at his paws. The weight on his shoulders, to adjust to this new clan, the new territory, the new warriors around him...it was a crushing weight. ‘Favors...’ She made helping another cat sound so simple. Like it didn’t come with costs, and consequences. She shouldn’t be willing to bear those for some stranger like him, but she was saying a bit of that was no concern to her. As they stood there, the two of them still and meeting each other’s gazes, he couldn’t help but appreciate, for just a bit, her steel-headedness.
But Ebonywhisker’s appreciation took a turn as she told him just how she felt about her clanmates judging her. He wasn’t ready for this level of honestly—as she told him that she just couldn’t pay any mind to her clanmates judgement, for giving him some basic courtesy, his mouth dropped open partially agape, while he quietly watched her, and listened. He could visibly see the defiance in her stature, and it was putting him in a bit of a disadvantage—him, with little hope, dejected, feeling like he was worth little. And there she was, not scared at all of the judgement of her whole clan. They were too utterly different warriors, and she was staring him in the face in this moment.
A bit of future perspective was something that he was struggling to find himself, but she seemed ready to place it right in front of him in such short terms. He was trying to process the way she was sticking up for him to...well, to himself, but...she moved on before he could finish thinking about what she had said. So don’t tell me what to do.
Ebonywhisker quietly sucked in a breath of air, surprised by her boldness as she turned about after picking the moss and beginning her way back to the camp. His eyes remained glued upon her as she did so, surprised by her demeanor towards him in general and not expecting the authority with which she commanded that he watched how he ordered her around. He was speechless, left to simultaneously puzzle and marvel at how she had spoken. How was he supposed to handle what she had said? She clearly didn’t care what helping him might mean for herself. Her reputation.
He slowly began padding along again, following behind her closely as she trotted along. His gaze held on her as he followed behind, struggling to say much after her show of strength. Behind her, his silence likely spoke more than a lot of words could. He quietly followed her back through the territory.

Finchstar - accompanied by Silverstar - - shore - [brambleflight ] Just as she didn't feel less anger, Finchstar felt more rage. He was stuck with Silverstar, of all cats, and without his clan. He knew he couldn't trust anything she said or did, so he stood still with a sharp glare. If he had the strength, he would have attacked her right then but losing a life from drowning had worn him out. "I'm sure you did this on purpose, hoping you could send me downstream and leave my clan without a leader!" he hissed, narrowing his blue eyes at the NightClan leader.
Hearing her spat an insult, he growled loudly, "Flea-brain!" The black and white tom wasn't content with the situation at all. However, he did trust Whiteriver to care for AlderClan until he got back. Though his deputy had a family of her own, she had always been loyal and hard working. She would know what to do in times like this and their clan would prevail. They were always better than NightClan anyways. Whiteriver has the tools and strength to keep AlderClan going. It won't be long until I'm back home, he thought.
The bi-colored feline rolled his eyes at Silverstar, letting out a snort. He padded away from her, leaving distance between them. "Fine by me, but I'm going to find my way back too," he snarled back.
Finchstar padded along the river's shore, studying the river and the area around them. He knew the river would lead him upstream, towards AlderClan and NightClan, but what then? What if the river broke off into different parts? He would have to trek further to figure that out. He was too exhausted to travel home now which left him to realize something. If Silverstar leaves now, she will get home before I do, he thought, tail lashing behind him angrily. I can't let that happen. She will try to destroy AlderClan without me around. My clan needs me. The tom's gaze followed the fluffy she-cat, curious as to how she was going to get back home. He was silently hoping she couldn't find a route before him and then he would have the head start to get back to their home. image credited to Pixabay - (CC0 license)

Heatherpool - RiverClan Camp - w/ Shadowkit 's Ebonywhisker Having said her piece and only greeted by silence afterwards, Heatherpool could only assume that the tom had accepted her words. The warrior guess that he had just brushed it off but feeling his gaze lingering on her made her guess otherwise. Perhaps he was a bit more surprised than she originally thought. Well whatever the reason was, she didn't dwell on it for much longer, finding no need to. As camp soon came into view, the she-cat slowed her pace slightly and headed back into the familiar space. Naturally, their return was greeted with less than friendly glances from warriors that had returned from their patrols as it grew closer to nightfall. And of course, pretty much all hateful looks were casted at Ebonywhisker.
It reminded the RiverClan warrior of Snowstar's parting words. Heatherpool twitched her tail tip thoughtfully before stepping back to lessen the distance between herself and the former ShadowClan cat. She hoped that with her position as guard that her clanmates would feel less inclined to actually approach. They could cast all the glares they'd like so long as they didn't target Ebonywhisker in any other way. "Come on. We'll get your nest fixed up and from there you can choose how to spend your first evening here." she meowed as she began to head towards the warriors den.
Silverstar - Shore - w/ Sand 's Finchstar Silverstar eyed Finchstar as the tom padded around the shore. She was glad to see him put a distance between them but that didn't help the fact that she still needed to find a way home. Her blue eyes shifted back to the river, watching the flowing water for a moment. The clans had to be less than a day's travel away but after losing a life to the river, it felt like a much longer journey. As much as she wanted to get back to her clan, she also wanted to rest. But there was also Finchstar to worry about. The leader dug her claws into the ground frustratedly. A solution crossed her mind but it wasn't an idea she was found of. Unfortunately, it was probably her best bet.
"Finchstar," she spoke his name bitterly as she shifted her cold gaze onto the tom. "perhaps it would be wise of us to form a temporary truce. We're in unfamiliar territory and both of our clans are without their leaders. If we travel together, we can at least guarantee neither one of us reaches their clan before the other." Plus it would give her a chance to rest without worrying about Finchstar getting ahead of her. Even if it meant she couldn't get ahead of him, at least she could make sure he didn't get back to his clan before her. That didn't mean she was happy about her own suggestion though. Having to stick around the rival leader was a nightmare in it's own right.
"Don't get me wrong. I despise the idea of traveling by you and I will do everything in my power to get to my clan first if you don't agree to this truce." she added with a snarl of warning. "But I'm also tired and I'm certain you are to. I'd rather rest now and travel later even if it has to be with you."
(I was also thinking about how they could get thrown off course to make their trip a bit longer cx I was thinking a split in the river makes them take a wrong turn, or maybe a run in with some type of enemy (like rogues, fox, badger ect) makes them lose track of the river for a bit? Plus it could be the reason their direction changes to stumble across the wolves that are approaching the clan's territory. What do you think? any ideas? c: )

If he told her the truth, Ebonywhisker would have said he appreciated her words. A cat determined to see him as a problem would say that she might almost be acting with a lack of loyalty, but he could see that she was only holding to a principle of how to treat a cat. More than that, she was thinking about a day when they would be clanmates, instead of guard and charge. As much as he was ready to curl up and wallow in his sadness, she already seemed to be focused on an image of the future, and it was something distant that he could set his eyes upon, at least...soon.
"Okay," He murmured quietly as she drew closer to them and recommended they set up a nest for him now. Obviously, he was focused on every cat who was staring at him, taking in all of the glares. Suddenly, as his hackles raised a little he didn't mind so much the idea of the guard being close to him here. He hadn't been thinking of whether they were staring at him when he was half-mourning and half-lamenting Honeylight's dismissal of him. Now, he could see just how little of the clan seemed to want him there, and he struggled to find a single face that wasn't filled with hatred.
"Y-yeah, let's...do that..." He gulped, quietly turning towards the warrior's den as Heatherpool had pointed it out to him earlier. He glanced between the apprentice's den and the warrior's den for a couple seconds, almost seeming to forget which was which, but he turned towards the correct one at the end and began padding towards it.

Foxpounce ;; Journey ;; Sweetshadow ;; brambleflight ;;
Bristling furiously, Foxpounce whipped his head to stare back at the sea - opposite to Sweetshadow. The tumbling waves and the gusts of wind were familiar to him, as was the seaspray that glimmered on his short coat; it was a sense of comfort in all the trials and tribulations they faced now. I'm going to need more than StarClan to get through this journey if I'm paired with Sweetshadow the whole time... he thought with annoyance. Ever since he'd been a warrior he'd never gotten along with the smokey she-cat. Sundapple joked that they were too alike and that he mustn't like the idea of someone being as grumpy and snarky as he was. Narrowing his gaze, he turned his attention back to the she-cat beside him and flicked his whiskers in frustration.
"I think this journey will be much easier if you just mind your own business and I mind mine. I don't like it anymore than you do but I certainly don't want Breezestar thinking I'm not a fit deputy because we can do nothing but get under each others fur." He sniffed, as if the words soured his mouth - he didn't like reasoning with the BlazeClan deputy. "Breezestar and Burnetstar seem to be getting along so lets just not fuss." With that, he hastened his pace so that he was a step of two ahead and he flicked his tail. Just like everyone, he suffered the burden of not wanting to leave their home, it showed in his nervous glancing around but mostly it showed in the agitated flicking of his ears, whiskers, and tail tip.

"I can't believe we have to treat him like he belongs here as much as us," Crowtalon hissed from his corner of camp. His apprentice, Cherrypaw, sat quietly at his side, having been listening to various warriors grunt and hiss about the Shadowclan cat's stench, how his clan was responsible for so many deaths, and such. Crowtalon only a quarter-moon was celebrating having ended the life of one of these fox-pelts, and now he had to act like this one was sent from Starclan. "This is ridiculous." He shook his head and looked down at Cherrypaw. "You stay away from him. He is dangerous."
"O-of course," Cherrypaw quietly stammered, her ears fixed on Heatherpool and Ebonywhisker as they entered the warrior's den, Heatherpool carrying moss, supposedly for the new cat. Cherrypaw hadn't been fighting in anything more than a border skirmish; she wasn't a strong cat yet, only ten moons old, and some of her training had fallen through as they handled the repercussions of the battles. Though she didn't hold any ill will for Ebonywhisker, her mentor and some of her other clanmates seemed to, and she figured that meant he should stay clear of him.
Ebonywhisker left the glares of many of these Riverclan warriors, only to enter the den and be met with the tired glare of Honeylight. He averted his gaze down towards his paws at first, thinking she wasn't going to want to address him at all. Yet, she did so, surprising him and causing him to raise his head to meet her gaze.
He was ready to respond quickly, to try to say something that might ease how Honeylight was feeling about him right now, but Heatherpool beat him to responding, playing the diplomat in between the two of them. He caught onto Heatherpool trying to create a situation for them to spend time together, and he resigned from adding anything as the warrior seemed to know what she was doing.
"Well..." He took in a breath as Honeylight addressed him directly. "I didn't know that Riverclan cats adorned their nests with things from the river if they're nice." He looked down to the nest the she-cat was upon, trying to get a look at what Honeylight had gathered. "I...I think that's interesting. It makes the den...well, for more than just sleeping, I guess."
He was trying to sound friendly and pleasant, hoping that he could put on a warm tone and that, after a quarter-moon or so, it would start to break through this clearly cold exterior. "But...I will have to get used to the lack of trees, I think." Thunderclan and Shadowclan both were filled with them, and he felt plenty at home lounging in a clearing surrounded by trees and the rustle of the wind against them. Heatherpool had shown him, in her words, about the only trees they had, and it certainly didn't amount to what he was used to. He hoped being honest, that Honeylight wouldn't hold needing to adjust against him.

Sweetshadow - Journey - w/ aether 's Foxpounce Sweetshadow twitched her tail irritably as the orange tom spoke up again. After he had lapsed into a brief silence, the deputy had been hoping that he would keep his mouth shut. Of course, that didn't seem to be in his nature. Her ears flickered back at his words, more annoyed at the idea of coming to an agreement with him than anything else. I doubt that's the reason he'd see you as unfit anyways. It was difficult but the deputy bit back, keeping it to herself for now. "Fine by me." she responded curtly to the EmberClan deputy. Shifting her gaze away from him, she looked out over the ocean. Since he was no longer right besides her, the view was unblocked.
Simmering down from her annoyance with Foxpounce, the deputy instead found her thoughts drifting onto their current situation of leaving behind their homes. Frustration burned at every pawstep that took her further away from the only home she had ever known. Despite what Burnetstar though, she was still convinced that together the clans would have been able to overthrow Ashstar. "It's ridiculous that we're the ones being driven out and not FlameClan." she muttered, mainly to herself as her pale green eyes watched distant waves crashing against rock formations that jutted out of the sea..
(No worries xD It's a great game lol)
Heatherpool & Honeylight - RiverClan Camp - w/ Shadowkit 's Ebonywhisker As Honeylight directed a question to Ebonywhisker, Heatherpool felt a bit of hope rise in her. It seemed that the light brown warrior wasn't as hostile as before. Of course, Honeylight was clearly still unfriendly but at least she was acknowledging Ebonywhisker a bit more. It was one small pawstep in the right direction. The cream colored warrior watched as Honeylight listened to the former ShadowClan cat respond, not seeming entirely interested as he clearly gave a more detailed answer than she was hoping for.
Honeylight gave a curt nod to his words and shifted slightly to block her nest from his view. Was it out of pettiness? Perhaps. But the brown warrior also disliked the idea of sharing such things with him. The feathers and shiny small objects that were nestled into the moss she slept in felt too private for her to be sharing with a ShadowClan cat. "You'll also have to get used to swimming and fishing. You won't survive here if you can't do those simple things." she meowed sharply. "You'll never be truly welcomed here if you live like a ShadowClan cat in RiverClan."
Heatherpool shifted a bit uneasily at Honeylight's sharp words. While she understood it would take time for Ebonywhisker to learn those skills it sounded like Honeylight didn't share the same patience. Hoping to simmer the RiverClan warrior down, Heatherpool casted her clanmate a small smile. "Learning a new skill won't develop overnight, Honeylight. However, I'm sure with the right teacher and a bit of patience he'll pick it up just fine." she meowed with reassurance that was meant more for Ebonywhisker than Honeylight. She was also hoping that her clan mate picked up on her hint of being a part of his learning. Unfortunately that backfired a bit as Honeylight gave her a dry look. "Well then, congratulations on your first apprentice then, Heatherpool. For both our sakes, let's hope he learns as well as you seem to think he will." Honeylight said, her voice dripping with sarcasm as she gestured to Ebonywhisker.
It was difficult not to roll her eyes at Honeylight's words but Heatherpool managed to control herself, settling for merely keeping her head raised high. Still wanting to try and keep the peace, she moved to take a step back towards the exit of the den. "Regardless, I'm famished. If you two are willing, perhaps we could all have a civil meal together." she meowed with a stern glance towards Honeylight.

The more he spoke, the more he began to pick up on the subtle cue that told him Honeylight wasn't particularly enthralled with what he was saying. He shuffled his paws awkwardly as she purposefully shifted herself to block his view, leaving him to feel her hostility wasn't budging an inch for the time being.
Honeylight in a strict and literal sense was not wrong when she advised him to get used to living in the way the Riverclan cats did; he would need to learn these things or he would never be able to fit in here and contribute the way he needed to in order to be begrudgingly tolerated. His ears flattened a bit behind his head and he tried to think about something, anything he could say to reassure her that he was going to do anything that he could to assimilate into their clan.
But Heatherpool was there before he was. She surprised him again, saying something close to a defense of the former Shadowclan cat. He felt like saying anything wouldn't help him anymore. Honeylight was going to be a little bitter about this for at least a while, it seemed.
His gaze drifted uneasily between his paws and Honeylight as she placed him low as an apprentice with what he needed to learn here. It felt like claws being jabbed into his chest as his mate-to-be communicated that she thought so little of him and what he was capable of. It was visible on his face, the hurt from what she said, as he failed to conceal it in response to what she said.
He nodded awkwardly as Heatherpool recommended that they try to have some civility and eat something together. His gaze had dropped back to his paws and he was left silent and a little dejected by the exchange between the three of them. You really think nothing of me at all?

Heatherpool & Honeylight - RiverClan Camp - w/ Shadowkit 's Ebonywhisker Honeylight swished her tail in annoyance at Heatherpool's deflection of her words. The warrior didn't like how accepting her clan mate was of this ShadowClan cat, and that was coming from the one who was going to have to be mates with him. However, Honeylight didn't say anymore and merely gave a stiff nod of agreement before gesturing with her paw for Heatherpool to lead the way. The cream colored warrior relaxed a little at Honeylight's compliance and turned to trot out of the warrior den.
Almost as soon as Heatherpool walked out of the den she was greeted by a rather angry looking Burnetclaw. The large tom was sitting near the entrance of the den, his eyes cold and his claws scraping against the ground threateningly as he locked his gaze onto Ebonywhisker. Honeylight was displeased about the arrangement, but her brother clearly held far more hatred for ShadowClan. Glancing over her shoulder, she noticed Honeylight rolling her eyes at her brother's antics but otherwise ignoring them and continued to make her way towards the fresh kill pile even as Burnetclaw took a step towards Ebonywhisker. Bristling slightly, Heatherpool moved to step into her clanmate's path meeting his cold green eyes with her stern blue gaze. "Can we help you, Burnetclaw?" she questioned, a tense warning in her voice. "I'm sure if you had any concerns, you'd take them up with Brookstar first."
Burnetclaw shot a glare at Heatherpool. "I merely wished to give our newest resident a word of warning." he growled. His gaze shifted away from the she-cat to zero in on Ebonywhisker once more. "One wrong step crow eater and your time here will be done, understand?"

Ebonywhisker drifted behind the two she-cats as they began exiting the den, feeling a bit downtrodden as the annoyed she-cat continued giving him no time of her day at all. She didn't want anythign to do with him, and it didn't seem like she was interested in bridging the gap at all. He tried to think of what Heatherpool had said, that she probably needed time to warm up to this, but it sure didn't feel like Honeylight even wanted to make this situation any better than it was.
He went snow-cold as Burnetclaw approached and, thank Starclan, Heatherpool got in the way. He cast a worried glance towards Honeylight, trying to figure out if this tom-cat was prepared to shred him up over this arrangement. He had hoped that he could wait at least a couple days before experiencing this, but here was a cat, already threatening him. Honeylight didn't seem like she was going to make any move to interfere, moving away towards the pile of fresh-kill. He gulped and gave the warrior a quick nod. "O-of course," He stammered, quickly conceding to the threat. He didn't want to be in this cat's bad side already, so he backed down immediately and didn't stand up for himself.

{{ Hiya! This thread looked really interesting to me. I just recently rejoined the forums, but I was a really active member of the old forums for upwards of 5 years back in the day. I decided to get back on the horse today (my grad classes have all been moved to online due to COVID), and came across your thread, where the sixth plot really interested me.
I promise that - despite my long hiatus from this world - I'm still an experienced writer. However, if you prefer to write with someone who's been rp'ing actively on here, I completely understand. Just let me know! c: I'll be on for a bit more time before heading to bed. }}

{{ Oh wonderful, sounds great. I'd be interested in playing the warrior from Clan 1, Muse A, and preferably a tom, if that's alright!
You'll have to forgive me - I'm unsure how to do the format in which you link your clan in the same way you've done it on the homepage of your thread. We can figure that out soon, though. }}

Finchstar - accompanied by Silverstar - - shore - [brambleflight ] Logically, it would be irrational to travel now for a day's worth when he had lost a life. He didn't have the strength nor the will to continue further than where he was now. It was a setback he didn't want to accept just yet, but Finchstar knew that traveling while exhausted due to a death wasn't smart. However, he knew Silverstar faced the same challenges as he did. Maybe if they both waited a night to travel, then they could set off and head home separately. To him that seemed like the best course of action. Unfortunately, the sound of his rival's voice threw him off.
He could feel her cold gaze on his black and white pelt and he turned around slowly, returning the same gaze. A temporary truce and traveling together? Has she lost her mind? Did she hit it on a rock while losing a life or something? he wondered, letting out a light scoff. She did have a point though, even if he wanted to disagree at the slightest. So the tom took a deep breath and exhaled steadily. "You may be right, Silverstar. It would not be fair, to us or our clans," he meowed, pausing for a moment. "To rush our way home and leave the other behind." It did give both of them a chance to rest without the other slipping away in the night and heading home. After all, both leaders lost something equal; a life.
"The feeling is mutual, Silverstar. I wouldn't dare travel by you either, but in times like these... Seeing we both lost something significant, I will agree to the truce," Finchstar responded, snarling at the beginning of his words. He was unsure if him agreeing to such a deal was going to be worth it. Even though he had agreed with the she-cat, he wasn't ready to put his tall guard down just yet. If the NightClan leader was going to pull anything on him at all, he knew he had to be prepared and mindful. "Since we are both tired, I suggest we find shelter and something to fill our stomachs before it gets dark. We don't know what's out here and I suppose it's best we stick together. Does that sound good?" image credited to Pixabay - (CC0 license) ( I love that idea! I think if they take the wrong turn, they could run into the rogues or fox. After they lose track, maybe that's when the stumble across the wolves heading towards their clans, which might create more trust and dependability between the two. I'm also thinking they'd have to find a solution to distract the wolves? I'm not exactly sure what they could do without one of them losing another life or risking it, the wolves would have more of an advantage depending on how many of them there are. )

Silverstar - Shore - w/ Sand 's Finchstar Silverstar waited tensely for Finchstar to reply. Some part of her firmly believed that the other leader wouldn't be able to set aside his pride to agree with her so it came as a bit of a shock to hear him actually agree with her. While part of her was glad that she wouldn't have to go rushing off to get ahead of him, the leader still detested the fact that she'd have to be stuck besides him until they reached their territories again. "It doesn't sound ideal but good enough for me." she growled before slowly turning to step away from the shore and towards the forest that laid besides it.
Not trusting the other leader to walk behind her, she stop to allow him to catch up besides her, though still maintained a decent distance between them. Even if he had agreed to the truce, that didn't mean she completely trusted his word. He was a leader who had no faith in StarClan, a cat that couldn't be trusted. She wanted him in her line of sight at all times to make sure he wasn't going to pull anything. Satisfied enough with their positions now, she looked towards the looming trees of the forest.
"Our best bet is probably the forest. Hopefully we can find something close by." she muttered, her voice still sour but a little less hostile now that she had a bigger problem to worry about. Her icy blue eyes swept over the shadows of the trees, eying for enemies outside of the one standing besides her. "Do as you wish Finchstar, but I'd rather not stray too far and lose track of the river."
(I like it! I could definitely seem them working to stop the wolves from getting to their clans and that forging more trust between them. Maybe one gets close to losing a life but the other somehow manages to save them? Then they could realize they need more than just each other to deal with the wolves and then finally return to their respective clans to rally everyone together?)

Just to clarify before we get goin c: - Do you have an idea of where you'd like the plot to start? }} (So do I. I have work early tomorrow so I'm off about now as well. ^^' But sounds good! I probably won't have mine done until tomorrow evening/night. Good luck with your assignments though! And I was thinking maybe when Muse A is first coming into Clan2's territory? I could see Muse B out on a herb collection patrol, trying to recover what they can after the wildfire when they come across Muse A. What do you think?)

It might have been easy for Heatherpool to say that the cat was all talk, but Ebonywhisker was left to feel like there was plenty of potential threat to him. Burnetclaw seemed to have it out for him already, and if he was Honeylight's brother, then...not only did he likely have the unending backing of his mother, the leader, but he was also going to believe every word that came out of Honeylight's mouth. He had been there before.
He didn't say anything as they began approaching the fresh-kill pile once more. He tried not to display his lack of eagerness to have to grab a fish, and though he had hoped to find something else, he didn't see any other prey on the pile. He sighed quietly and reached forward to grab a fish in his jaws. He had to fight the urge to gag at the awful stench of the fish. He...wasn't a fan of the smell.
He followed Heatherpool in approaching wherever Honeylight had gone to enjoy her prey. He resolved to keep himself quiet and to not disturb Honeylight in any way. He tried not to look about them, trying to keep from making eye contact with any of the warriors surrounding them. He had to avoid them to keep his anxiety from spiking too highly.

Same here - good luck with work tomorrow!
I think that sounds perfect. In your mind, is Muse A accompanied by some pals, or wandering alone? I'm prepared for either, but was imagining him alone. Let me know your thoughts on this, too. ^^ }}

Ebonywhisker felt very tense seated between them, Honeylight clearly not wanting to acknowledge he existed and Heatherpool only able to play the diplomat so much between the two of them. Settled there, aware that she wouldn't even wait for them to sit before eating, he wondered what was at all 'civil' about this. He was trying to be civil, at least to talk with her. They had to make something of this awful situation. Why wasn't she willing to try building something a little better from this?
He gave the slightest of sighs as Heatherpool again broke the silence between the three of them. Wow, you just...won't give up, huh? You want this to work more than Honeylight does. He kept the thought to himself, not daring to offend his Riverclan mate-to-be.
"Well, it's tough because we don't get training on catching fish like you talented swimmers," He tried to insert humor into his voice, still hoping he could break through their silent third's coldness. "But I think a fish must have washed up on our side of the shore, or something. My father told me if I finished every chore I had, I could watch him eat it. It was a novelty, you know, and our kits sometimes joked about, uhh..." He kept his gaze from traveling in Honeylight's direction, hoping this didn't sound too rude. "The taste of fish. And well, I wanted to see my father react to it, so I...couldn't have been more eager to do a chore in my life, so...That evening he was going to eat it whole, in front of Tawnystripe, Flamestrike and I."
"So we're all gathered there. E-even Snowstar was...glancing our way. Pretending not to, but...I digress." He cleared his throat quietly. "Instead of just biting into it, he starts...carving it with his claw, like he's cutting through moss or something. He opened it up, and, well..." He decided to omit the kits' gagging from the stench of the fish. "He starts staring right at me, and I remind him that he has to eat all of it. And he keeps staring at me, and I..." He cleared his throat a little louder, adopting a higher pitched reproduction of his younger self: "Heeeyyy, I did the-..." Ebonywhisker cut himself off, and starting shaking his head with a light chuckle. "He grabbed a pawful of it, waited for me to open my mouth again, and dropped it in my mouth. I probably wouldn't have reacted so badly if I had been ready for it, but my family was dying of laughter when I tripped and fell on my back with part of a fish in my mouth." He had a smile on his face, one that seemed real and big for the first time since he had got there. It slowly grew smaller until it was faint. "I think my mother even smiled," He quietly added.

Fogpaw : Near ThicketClan Border
Falling in proudly behind his mentor, Fogpaw opened his jaws to scent the air as he had been taught many times before. The day had flown by like an excellent dream. Pinestar named the patrol to finally address the lingering rogue scents near the thinning side of their forest, to be led by the deputy Falconheart, who had insisted that Fogpaw accompany the party. He believed that he was ready, and was not displeased with the twinges of jealousy in the other apprentices' eyes as he departed. Falconheart, with her strict, careful eye, finally trusted him, so much so that the grey apprentice saw her separate from him to lead the front of the patrol, leaving him to observe the rear. They slowed and tracked diligently, all who were apart.
It did not take long, however, for Fogpaw to follow his nose along a thin, but steady scent trail, which veered off to the right of the patrol's trajectory. Slatewhisker and Milkfur's paces had missed the path, following Falconheart's lead. Fogpaw hated to draw them away, in the case that this trail was nothing but a dead end. After all, they were the warriors. Giving a quick glance toward the three, he slipped after the trail quietly on his own, sure that it would prove faulty and he could double back to meet them promptly. To his surprise, it continued, and continued, causing him to pick up his speed in its direction, farther and farther away from the others.
