❀ Mothflutter ❀ ⇁ Camp. Open. ↼ Mothflutter's ears perked up as she heard Peachstar call for the senior warriors to gather in her den. She was not a senior warrior, so she was not invited to the meeting, but that did not stop her curiosity from digging in. She must be picking the new deputy! It's been too long without one, I'm glad. She thought, displaying an external smile. She skimmed over in her head who the new deputy might be, and felt overwhelmed by all the choices. The she-cat couldn't begin to imagine how overwhelmed Peachstar must be, having to choose a deputy while grieving the loss of the previous one. Mothflutter padded over to the prey-pile to get something to eat, but also scanning the area for someone to talk to.

mumblesnow / Badgerwhisker (𝒂𝒍𝒎𝒂 ♡ ) & camp Mumblesnow nuzzled his head gently against Badgerwhisker. He loved his mate and being with him. The gray tom chuckled under his breath, "I've had plenty of time to learn," he smirked with a playful glint in his eyes. It wasn't a lie. He was seven moons younger than Badgerwhisper... which felt like a lot when they were young. He snorted. "You are cruel," Mumblesnow mused with a slight whine. He would always follow Badgerwhisker and he knew his mate was fan of the jungle while Mumblesnow did enjoy sleeping the day away. He knew his mate worried when he did that though.
He followed his mate out of the elder den. Mumblesnow took a soft breath, enjoying the warmth. "I love warm days," he let out a happy sigh. His tail twitching happy behind him, stepping to follow his mate. His gaze following Badgerwhisker's glance towards Peachstar and the senior warriors. He let out a curious noise. "There is plenty of capable candidates," he mused, thinking to all of the possible warriors that Peachstar would choose. Usually they had female leadership; it helped limit who would possibly get the role.

proudfalcon / with senior warriors. Proudfalcon lifted up his head at Peachstar's call. He blinked and let out a soft sigh. thank spirits, he thought, feeling grateful. He didn't care for apprentices. He didn't understand why Peachstar believed in him and even gave him an apprentice. Maybe it wasn't belief... maybe it was punishment thinking about the hyperactive feline that was his apprentice.
"Good luck with your race, Honeypaw," Proudfalcon meowed with a gruff purr. He flickered his tail in dismissal. He padded over towards the leader's den, slipping into the base of the tree. He nodded to Peachstar and cast a curious glance towards Darksky. What is he doing here? he thought with a faint frown as he went over to sit next to Cougarsnout. "How is Ravenwhisker?" he asked. He knew his brother was excited about his upcoming kits.

Here's a couple starters
Goldwing - Camp Goldwing sat in a patch of sunlight near the warriors den, his paws tucked comfortably under his chest as his yellow eyes studied the camp, silently watching his clanmates buzz around. It was still early, so patrols needed to be sorted out. Normally the deputy would take care of that. His ears twitched, picking up pieces of conversations here and there, but he never joined any. He turned his head towards Peachstar's den curiously when he heard the announcement asking for all the senior warriors. That was interesting. She must be choosing a deputy, finally. His curiosity was provoked even more when he noticed Darksky enter among the older cats. Possibly the chosen deputy? Surprising, as Goldwing thought Peachstar would choose a she-cat as her successor. Perhaps she was just comforted by his presence or she valued his opinions. If they were going to end up spending more time together, maybe they will become mates, the white and gold tabby tom mused with a twitch of his whiskers.
Smokepetal - Camp w/ Mothflutter (badfrog ) Smokepetal mumbled drowsily as she turned over in her moss nest, whiskers twitching as her amber eyes slowly opened. Glancing around the warrior den she noticed that just about everyone was gone already and sat up with a start. Was it time to get up and about already? She ran her tongue over her chest, then her shoulders and sides, for a hurried grooming. Once she was satisfied that she looked presentable, she pushed herself out of the warriors den, pelt burning with embarrassment. Hopefully nobody would notice her late rising. She padded towards the prey pile to see if she was able to grab some left overs for breakfast, where she met Mothflutter. "Good morning, Mothflutter!" She meowed cheerily, shaking her dark fur before picking out a scrawny mouse from the pile. Wasn't the most appetizing, but that's what she gets for sleeping in and letting the rest of the clan get first picks. "Let's eat together." She purred, flicking the tip of her tail lightly against the other warriors side as she padded over to a comfortable spot in camp to enjoy her breakfast.
Brightleap - Camp Brightleap was up bright and early, at the first sight of dawn, to go out on a solo hunting patrol. He was just returning from the river with a plump fish in his jaws, entering camp to see the clan now awake and mingling together to eat or share tongues. He dropped his catch onto the pile and then looked around, noticing several senior warriors padding into Peachstar's den. Was she picking a deputy? Brightleap watched them eagerly, wishing he could follow and join in their counsel. One day he would be among the most trusted warriors, he promised himself that since he was young. A part of him hoped he would be chosen as deputy, but he knew it wouldn't happen. Not only was he young, he was a tom, and most leaders in the past have been she-cats. Not to mention he hasn't even been given an apprentice. The brown tabby sat down near the tall tree in anticipation of the meeting that would come shortly, grooming his thick fur to pass the time.

Echoriver let out a small laugh, "I would have never imagined that," she teased with gleaming eyes. Ripplewhisker was a handful now; the pale feline could only imagine how she was when the elder was in her prime moons. Sometimes Echoriver couldn't help but wonder if she would ever live as long as the elders now. She liked to think that but the jungle was a harsh place.
"I don't blame you," she mused with a small nod. She swished her tail and shrugged her shoulders, "After being stuck in the nursery with Buzzardpaw, I value my sleep more than ever," she meowed with a soft huff. Her daughter was so active while her sons were pretty content to stay nuzzled up to the queen's warm belly to sleep.
Echoriver let out an unladylike snort. "Me? Slacking off?" she laughed and shook her head, "I am always fell busy," she admitted. Sometimes she felt a little lost but she wasn't going to admit that out loud, even to herself.

Boartusk ➺ Camp ➺ w/ Blaze ♡'s Wrencrest and Senior WarriorsThe tom returned the she-cat's much warmer greeting with a barely noticeable flick of his ear. When she questioned who else would be accompanying the pair on patrol, the tom stifled an annoyed growl. He hadn't thought much about who else they could bring--Wrencrest was one of the only warriors remaining in camp he could see that he trusted enough or could likely stand being on patrol with. She didn't talk his ear off or try to show-off like many of the younger warriors. "Just us, for now." He responded, glancing half-heartedly around for another cat that could join them, although he wouldn't be bothered by just going with Wrencrest. He figured the pair could come back with plenty of prey, even if it was just the two of them.
However, Boartusk's trail of thought and prospects of hunting were cut short by Peachstar's call for the senior warriors. While Boartusk undoubtedly was among the senior warriors, he hesitated for a moment at his leader's request. The word meeting made his skin prickle uncomfortably. He wasn't a big talker or socializer--this sort of thing made him uncomfortable. But, thus was his duty, and Boartusk wouldn't back down from duty. He dipped his head apologetically to Wrencrest, a little awkward in the motion. "Next time, then, Wrencrest," He rumbled in parting, turning to face Peachstar's den with a twitch of his tail. "Farewell." With that, he trotted towards the growing crowd of senior warriors. Boartusk slipped into his leader's den without a word, only pausing to give the she-cat an acknowledging twitch of his whisker before taking a seat in the very back of the den, far from the rest of his clanmates.

the she-cat gave a gentle nod to each of the senior warriors who entered her den. proudfalcon took a seat next to cougarsnout, while darksky sat about a tail length away from her. she could tell by some of the looks of confusion - such from vipertooth and some from proudfalcon, that they were wondering why darksky was in the meeting. the she-cat then moved towards the center of the den, taking a glance at all the senior warriors. "good morning," she began, dipping her head to them. "for some of you wondering, i invited darksky to join the meeting, just to see how one of these run. i'm going to be doing that more often with younger warriors, so they know their duties when they become senior warriors," she mentioned, taking a small glance at darksky. she then turned her attention back to her most trusted cats. "as you all know, our past deputy passed away a few night ago, and i've yet to choose a new deputy. i know, it has been against warrior code to take this long on choosing a deputy, but i hadn't been able to bring myself to replace him just yet." she murmured. "however, i'm taking it as a sign from starclan with his passing. it was untraditional of me to choose a male successor, even though he was the perfect deputy. so, with this new deputy, i'm looking for a she-cat to carry on the legacy of bambooclan, until she receives her nine lives." she explained, giving a soft sigh. "as much as it pains me to do so, i know it's necessary." a shrug lifted her shoulders. the cream she-cat shuffled her paws slightly, trying to remember how her mothers used to run these meetings. "i've kept my eye on one cat in particular, wrencrest. what do you all think of me naming her the new deputy? i think she's shown tremendous growth in her time as a warrior, and i think she'd make a fine deputy." she finished, turning the floor over to any of the senior warriors, wondering what they would be thinking.
[ camp, with senior warriors, ^everyone tagged before]
sitting, taking a small glance around the den, he noticed the warriors beginning to file in. he noticed a familiar pelt walk towards him and sit next to him, which he ended up giving a gentle nod too. "hey proudfalcon," he greeted softly. his brother gently asked how ravenwhisker was, which automatically caused a smile to come to his face. "she's doing well, we're both excited for kits," he purred. "you'll get some kin who might annoy you," he joked, before perking his ears. peachstar had began talking, mentioning that darksky was joining so he could learn how these meetings run. he nodded to the tom sitting near peachstar before focusing his attention back on their leader. as she monologued, she finally got to the part about where she was thinking about picking wrencrest as deputy. she then sat back, obviously giving the floor to the senior warriors. the tom stood up, clearing his throat with a quick cough. "i think wrencrest would make an excellent deputy and future leader." he mentioned. "she's shown initiative that's beyond expectations, and has offered on many patrols that i've tried to organize. i think she would be a great fit for bambooclan's next deputy." he finished, sitting back down. he figured that wrencrest would be a good deputy. it would carry on the legacy of female leaders, as well.

Fogdapple➺ Wishing Pond ➺ 𝒂𝒍𝒎𝒂 ♡ 's BasilsniffThe trill of Basilsniff's laughter encouraged the smile tugging at the corners of the young warrior's muzzle. He liked the way Basilsniff was lighting up. He thought it was sweet how badly she craved a family and Fogdapple even felt a little strange that he'd never considered the prospect because of how invested in her fantasy future Basilsniff already was. He watched her through narrowed, glinting golden eyes with interest.
As the molly rolled back over, Fogdapple swiped a paw at her head playfully. "Are you making fun of me?" He mewed lightly, although this thought bothered him just a little bit. Does she actually think I'd make a good dad? The tom thought, hoping that his clanmate meant what she had said. Now that she had gotten him talking and thinking about it, he did want kits. Basilsniff was right that he would love to hang out and play with a litter of his own--he already enjoyed spending time around the kits in the nursery or the younger apprentices... wouldn't it make it that much better if those casts were his own flesh and blood? "I dunno, though. Maybe you're right. It might be nice." Fogdapple laughed, a little sigh escaping him
Basilsniff's words on Peachstar granted a nod of agreement from the tom. He definitely seconded everything his companion had said--he couldn't even imagine what Peachstar dealt with as leader. "It's... definitely not for me, either." He confessed. Big surprise. "Exactly," Fogdapple purred as the molly mentioned their Wishing Pond excursion. "This is just not the kind of thing I'm willing to give up." He stated matter-of-factly, breaking into a slow stretch. His long, skinny tail arched up over his back and swung back and forth as the tom stretched, brushing across his companions shoulders with each flick. Boartusk ➺ Leader's Den ➺ w/ Senior WarriorsBoartusk watched as Peachstar began the meeting from his lonely corner of her den, admittedly only half-listening. He took his role as a warrior seriously, this much was true... but sometimes the extra duties that accompanied being a senior warrior weren't his style. He cared about the clan's future and what Peachstar had to say, but he wasn't usually the type to voice his opinion to a superior or take part in meetings and discussions. Usually.
His interest peaked a little as Peachstar got to the point of the meeting--the selection of the new deputy. Listening a little keener, the tom's eyes narrowed slightly at his leader's suspicions surrounding the deceased deputies death. Boartusk new that female leadership was traditional in Bambooclan and this fact didn't bother him. However, Peachstar believing his death to be a "sign from Starclan" didn't sit right with the tom. The warrior wasn't the most religious of warriors and at times his faith in Starclan bordered on non-existent, although this wasn't something he typically shared. But it wasn't until Peachstar announced Wrencrest as her selection for the new deputy that Boartusk's lip curled, revealing even more of the his yellowed, broken canines that jutted from his muzzle. Sure, the she-cat was a fine warrior, but how old was she? 24 moons? While Boartusk didn't say anything aloud, he was bristling visibly and a low grunt of sheer shock escaped from low in his throat.

proudfalcon / with senior warriors. He dipped his head. He cracked a small smile, at least his littermate was happy. "How exciting," Proudfalcon smirked, his amber eyes glinting with amusement. He wondered what the little ones were going to be like... quiet or annoying like his apprentice. The dark tabby couldn't help but hoped that they would take after their father.
His gaze flickered back towards Peachstar as the pale feline started addressing the gathered warriors. His expression morphed in a unreadable one. He flickered his tail and was briefly glanced towards Darksky. The younger warrior could learn by watching at a different time but if Peachstar felt like he should get experience then Proudfalcon wasn't going to make his opinion vocal.
Proudfalcon couldn't help the stifled expression which crossed his face. It had been days longer past than necessary, nor should Peachstar waited so long yet the clan hasn't exploded into chaos. It was shame that the former deputy passed away. He was a tom of potential and should have had a long life. Perhaps pale molly was right and it was a sign. A morbid one.
Wrencrest? She had potential, even as a young warrior of twelve moons. Proudfalcon's amber gaze watched as Cougarsnout got to his paws and said his piece in agreement with Peachstar. He made a soft noise of agreement with his brother, "She is smart," he chimed, "And has the potential to grow." Growth was something that Wrencrest would have to face. She was young... and temperamental. One of his ears twitched as he heard a gruff noise from Boartusk and he looked over towards the older tom with a expecting expression. If you weren't able to control yourself, you might as well state your opinion.

☾ Wolfeye ☽ ⇁ Camp. Senior Warriors. ↼ The burly tom turned his attention to his leader as she began to address the senior warriors and Darksky. Even with the leader's excuse of his presence, Wolfeye couldn't help but think to himself: Out of all the warriors, why is Wrencrest not here? She is to become deputy, after all. The senior warrior did not express his opinion out of respect for Peachstar's decisions, but the thought still lingered in the back of his mind. Wolfeye was uncertain as to how much he believed or truly accepted the leader's explanation of the previous deputy's death, perhaps because he found it cruel that Starclan would be willing to end him to make a point. Maybe the tom was being sentimental, as he was quite fond of the last deputy and had become friends with him shortly before his demise. But regardless of their relationship, the clan's well-being came first, and a new deputy was essential to that. The senior warrior had made note of Wrencrest from time to time; she was certainly a promising and determined warrior, even though she was considerably young. There was no indication that she would make a bad deputy, though she may lack a bit of the wisdom that the clan's issues require. If the she-cat ever did require assistance with the job, he'd be there to help. Wolfeye turned to his leader, with a rather unfazed expression, and gave a large nod of approval of her choice. ❀ Mothflutter ❀ ⇁ Camp. apricity . ↼Mothflutter smiled as the she-cat approached her, pleased that someone would join her for her first meal of the day. "Hi Smokepetal," The warrior addressed her company with before picking one of the smaller prey from the pile to eat. "Thank you for joining me. How are you today?" The she-cat spoke before taking a bite from her meal, which was adequate in taste but noticeably stale.

Boartusk ➺ Leader's Den ➺ w/ Senior WarriorsThe tom's narrow green gaze flitted from Peachstar, then to Proudfalcon and Cougarsnout who sat together voicing their support, and to Wolfeye's approving nod. He shifted his paws, sparing a gaze to the rest of the congregation, wondering if anyone else would speak up with anything other than praise and acceptance of Peachstar's decision. While he knew that the she-cat would have the final say in the selection of deputy, and he would support that decision no matter what, he had to admit, he didn't feel entirely comfortable with a deputy that young, no matter how much faith he had in Wrencrest as a warrior.
"Has Wrencrest even trained an apprentice yet?" He inquired gruffly, raising his head to speak finally. It was an honest question, the tom wasn't entirely sure on this point, and her youth made him doubt it. "She's undoubtedly a fine warrior, but are there no concerns about her being too young?" Boartusk concluded, once again casting his eyes around the den, waiting to see the response to his words.

as the feline sat down, she noted that cougarsnout stood and mentioned that wrencrest would make a good deputy. she nodded appreciatively, and proudfalcon followed. while wrencrest did have a lot to learn, peachstar knew that she could take the she-cat under her wing. she nodded towards wolfeye, who had given her an approving nod. she noticed that boartusk had made a disapproving grunt, which slightly shocked her. his lip was curled, and then he spoke. he asked if she'd even had an apprentice, and if there were concerns that she was too young. peachstar was a bit taken aback, but that's what these meeting were for. to get out concerns and to help advise herself. "boartusk, i understand your concerns here. while she is young, she has had an apprentice. cherrypaw, who decided medicine was more her suit. i know it's a bit of controversy that she didn't finish her warrior training, and wrencrest wasn't able to see her through to a warrior name, wrencrest does have experience with an apprentice." she explained to the senior tom, wrapping her tail around her paws. she may have come off a bit defensively. "personally, i was made the deputy when i was just 30 moons. i had trained one apprentice. while yes, wrencrest is young, she can grow into the leadership position by being deputy." she explained, looking at the tom. "do you have any suggestions on who should be deputy other than wrencrest? i believe she'll do well. i know there are older she-cats in the clan who could, but i believe there's something about wrencrest that's.. calling for her to become deputy." she finished her statement, glancing around the den at the others, before taking a glance at darksky. she then turned her attention back at her senior warriors.

- - Ripplewhisker & Echoriver // Camp - - [ Blaze ♡ ] The elderly she-cat gave an amused purr. "I only kid. I trust in you that you're not slacking off." Ripplewhisker assured the young warrior. She then nodded her head sagely in agreement. "I understand. It is quite busy work being a warrior. But it pays off in the end, which I am sure you're well aware." There was a distant look in her cloudy blue eyes as she once more thought back to her earlier days.
Movement caught the corner of her eyes, though she didn't look in that direction. "It appears a deputy will be chosen soon." Ripplewhisker suddenly said, commenting on the senior warriors that had entered the leader's den. The she-cat lowered her head. "I hope she chooses wisely." She added. With the senior warriors there to guide Peachstar, she knew the leader would pick a respectable cat as their deputy.
- - Vipertooth w/ Peachstar & Senior Warriors // Leader's Den - - [ lots of tags ]
The tom's ears perked up in surprise at Peachstar's recommendation. Wrencrest? He thought in shock. Clearly he wasn't the only one in surprise, hearing Boartusk's reaction. He looked to the other senior warriors as they gave their approval. While they made points of the she-cat's potential growth.. still, she was very young. Vipertooth turned his attention to Boartusk as he gave his disapproval, and he found himself nodding in agreement. Another good point, Wrencrest didn't have much mentoring experience with her apprentice switching off to train as a medicine cat. After Peachstar gave her input, Vipertooth decided to speak.
"I agree with Boartusk. Also, that is still a 6-moon difference between when you were appointed deputy Peachstar. That is 6 more moons of experience and wisdom Wrencrest could gain with an apprentice fully." He pointed out. The tom bowed his a head a little. "With all due respect, if you wanted to elect a she-cat, why not someone older like Nightshade, Echoriver, or even Mintnose?" He questioned while suggesting a few other potential candidates.

Boartusk ➺ Leader's Den ➺ w/ Senior WarriorsBoartusk listened respectfully as Peachstar spoke, meeting the she-cat gaze. Before he could respond to the points she made in Wrencrest's defense, Vipertooth raised his own concerns. He listened to the tom's input silently, nodding occasionally. The fellow warrior made known many of Boartusk's own concerns, although he didn't know how much he approved of his suggestions for deputy.
Boartusk had to admit to himself he didn't agree with Peachstar's decision for her selection only to come from she-cats... he felt that there was a lot of wasted deputy potential that way, but he understood where she was coming from. If that was her interpretation of Starclan's will, then so be it. But if that was the case, then Wrencrest truly was one of the only options he approved of. Although she was young and rather inexperienced, he believed she could excel. But faith wasn't all a deputy needed and all the faith in the world didn't mean she would succeed. "I will respect any decision you make and stand by your choice for deputy, Peachstar," The tom continued slowly after Vipertooth had finished. "But I agree with Vipertooth. With age comes valuable experience and learning opportunities. I have faith in Wrencrest, but there are just... things she just hasn't seen yet in her short time as a warrior."

The tip of the apprentice's tail flicked a bit irritably at Antskip's confusion. Truthfully, she wasn't doing anything incredibly important, but she believed that a medicine cat should always value their time. Koipaw was a little conceited in this aspect... she didn't really think she was better than the warriors of Bambooclan in this regard, but she certainly sometimes considered her time more valuable. "I'm sure it will come back to you," She responded with a tight smile. "Not a problem. No one is injured, then, I presume?" Koipaw asked to make sure. She knew Antskip was rather ditzy at times; she just hoped she wasn't that easily distracted to forget something as important as a wound.
Her high-strung attitude flared up a bit again as Antskip mentioned the state of the den. A mess? She repeated in her head, a bit taken aback. Her calico fur fluffed briefly but she smoothed it with a few quick licks to her chest fur. "No, Antskip, I can handle it. It's all rather important medicine cat supplies, anyway, you really need to know what you're doing to handle them..."

proudfalcon / with senior warriors. Proudfalcon couldn't help crinkle his nose at some of the female warriors who Viperfang listed. He wouldn't think those felines were "soft" because he had seen Echoriver during one of the rare times when the silver feline was angry while Mintnose did have the ambition to do great things. The gray molly tended to avoid dealing with situations head on. But they lacked the deputy vibe. Wrencrest was bold and always seemed confident, Proudfalcon admired that about her.
His amber eyes flickered back towards Peachstar, curious to see what she was thinking. He twitched his whiskers as she spoke about how Wrencrest did have limited apprentice experience. The dark tom make a soft noise in his throat, he had almost forgot about that. It felt like it was seasons ago, it was just 6/7 moons ago when it was evident that Cherrypaw was not meant to be a warrior. He could briefly recall the steeled expression on Wrencrest's face for a moon after that.
"Wrencrest has spunk," Proudfalcon stated simply with a shrug of his shoulders, "even at a young age, I believe she can grow into a great deputy within the passing moons." They were senior warriors of the clan, even if he wasn't the biggest fan of teaching apprentice, the dark tabby wouldn't be opposed to helping Wrencrest through her first moons as deputy. He had faith that cream feline would be a swift learner. It might be adjustment from listening to them to "bossing" them around.

F l y f r o s t [ camp & senior warriors ]
Flyfrost sat quietly amongst his fellow senior warriors, listening as they spoke. He had to be quiet here - he knew that. He had a tendency to let his emotions lead his decisions, and this was the kind of choice that relied on logic, not feeling.
"Wrencrest is a good choice. She shows potential, and even in her short time with Cherrypaw I saw how much she was able to teach the apprentice. I believe you have made a good choice, Peachstar. But to play into the doubts we're bound to have - say that you decide differently. Is there anyone who we all agree has the potential that Wrencrest does? We have fewer female warriors than males - there aren't many other options to choose from."
He didn't want her to choose someone else - Wrencrest was a good choice. But he knew there was bound to be doubts, regardless of her potential. Someone always had a problem with the deputy choice, for one reason or another.
