brambleflightThe Clan deputy swished his tail. He had a plan, but it would involve putting many warriors in danger and there just wasnt space for all types of failures and he himself had abandoned it. He hesitated, knowing the scoffs he might get from the leader, but chose to venture on. It was worth an attempt. "I was going to originally say I think we should find out where their camp is. We can send a patrol of three, each lead by me and you and a senior warrior so that we can find it and corner it. Yet that clearly wont work- they'll smell us a mile away."

Stormcloud - Open
These seasons have been hard. The introduction of the wolves had been concerning at first, but now cats had to watch their tails whenever they left camp. Cats were being picked off like prey in the territory they're meant to feel safe in. It was terrible. Stormcloud himself had lost a couple of friends to the hungry maw of these predators. He wanted them gone, especially with the news of new kits being born soon. He didn't want them to live in a world where their parents can go out hunting one day and never come back.
Stormcloud trotted back to camp with three mice in his maw. They were small creatures, but food nonetheless. He couldn't remember the last time he and his sister had a fat rabbit for a meal. Especially during the harsher seasons, rabbits were so hard to come by. The thought of finding one was as good as a fantasy, sadly. So, he brought back his mice.
Sapleaf - Open
Sitting in a tree several fox-lengths off the ground was a strange comfort Sapleaf had. Some thought it was funny, seeing that her name was so closely related to trees, but that was a pure coincidence.
Letting out a soft breath, the molly let a fog leave her mouth and nose as she watched from above. This had been stressful in the clan lately. Cats were hungry, but some were too afraid to leave the clan. It was bad enough that when the wolves attacked, they didn't even leave a body to be buried. Cats just disappeared, dragged off to be... Eaten. Sapleaf shuddered silently to herself. It was the way of nature, sure, but that didn't mean she had to like it. Not when it caused so much distress amongst her clan.

Sagepelt emerges from the warrior's den and takes a moment to stretch out his body. He settles down on his haunches and takes a moment to groom his fur. He starts trying to figure out what the day would bring. The wolves were a concern but he didn't want to be stuck in camp all day. Maybe, I can take Robinpaw out for a little bit.
Ivyheart notices Stormcloud and his catch and waves her tail at him. "Nice catch!" She remarked. Ivyheart knew hunting wasn't great at the moment. She hoped New leaf would get here fast before the wolves wiped them all out.

brambleflight and underthesilverpeltFoxfang seemed to catch on to what the leader was suggesting and he locked his eyes with the brown tabby. "We could have a small patrol stand in watch over the camp for the next few sunrises. That way we can have a constant eye on them." His tail slashed at the prospect- this could work! Then he frowned. There was only a few ways that cats could fully disguise their scent... he looked back at the leader. "You dont mean...?" Sunripple watched the deputy make his way over to Oakstar and she sighed. She knew she had made him proud as an apprentice and now she wanted to prove herself as the best warrior there could be. Yet it wasnt easy with wolves snatching cats clean from patrols, leaving apprentices mentorless, kits motherless and the Clan without numbers. She paused by the low fresh-kill pile and was debating whether she wanted to actually pick from the meager pile or let the queens and elders got at it when Stormcloud slid in, in his jaws three mice.

brambleflightFoxfang curled his lip at the leader's way of disguising even though he knew he was right. "I understand; so does that mean we make this a warrior's mission only? Most of our apprentices are rather young, though Robinpaw has shown excellence at climbing."

Troutscale - Camp - brambleflight Troutscale's eyes widened, a she-cat actually wanted him to tag along for hunting! He flicked his now burning ears and quickly followed after Heatherpool. Padding up beside the she-cat he tried to stand tail and look brave, but being out of camp even made him nervous. "S-So... What made you want to leave camp today? Some cats are too afraid to leave camp anymore." Him included, but he wouldn't say that out loud in the presence of a pretty she-cat.

Troutscale nodded in agreement with Heatherpool, the clan did need the fresh kill pretty badly this leaf bare. He didn't want to see his clanmates starve either, he wished things between the wolves and clan hadn't become so intense. When he heard Heatherpool assume he wasn't scared he held his head and tail high, "O-Of course not! No mangy, overgrown dog is going to scare me!" He boasted, with a big grin on his face. Deep inside his heart was racing from being outside of camp, every little rustle or twig crack he heard made his blue-grey fur puff out a little. He tried to remain calm, he had to make sure Heatherpool and the other she-cats didn't know he was a mouse-heart.

Sapleaf - w/ Pantherfur
Sapleaf didn't notice the other Warrior until his familiar voice called up to her. She peered down, unable to keep from cracking a smile upon seeing the slowly fading startled look in the tom's eyes.
"Sorry to scare you," she called down, standing and leaping to a lower branch as the tom didn't have to crane his neck as much to look at her.
"No, no wolves," she sighed softly, settling back down and gazing around with a frown. "Just... Thinking, I guess. The air is somehow clearer up there. And if a wolf did show up, I'd be fine."
•••
Stormcloud - w/ Sunripple
The fluffy tom made his way to the prey pile, looking up and noticing the white and yellow form of Sunripple. Giving a soft purr of greeting, he set the mice down among the sad collection of food and sat back, licking the blood left over from the killings off his lips.
"Hunting hasn't been fun lately, huh?" He began, looking back down at the pile. "Have the queens and elders eaten yet?"

brambleflightFoxfang nodded in agreement to the Clan leader. He personally saw the young tom fit for such a mission. "I understand. Just think of it; if it goes well, it would be a no better time to name him a warrior afterwards. The clan needs brave moves like that now." underthesilverpeltSunripple nodded at the tom, looking back at the nursery where one of the queens lay. She seemed content, but Sunripple knew that may not last if the prey is short and the kits cant be fed. "Im sure the queens have, not too sure about the Rosepetal. Shall we go check?"

Heatherpool - Mountainside - w/ Applescent 's Troutscale The cream colored she-cat twitched her whiskers in amusement at Troutscale's boasting. It was difficult for her to tell if the tom was lying through his teeth or if he was just foolishly brave. Although, judging by his slightly puffed out fur, it seemed to be the former. "Right." Heatherpool mused and looked back ahead, scenting the air. "Well I for one want to make this trip out of camp quick, so let's see if we can find any prey before we find predators."
Pantherfur let out a clear sigh of relief as Sapleaf responded that there hadn't been any signs of wolves nearby. "I see. Well that's good then." he meowed with a nod of understanding. "There's plenty to think about after how this leafbare is turning out." A frown crossed the older warrior's face as his mate and future kits crossed his mind. As a father to be during these stressful times, there was plenty to think about indeed. Or more accurately, plenty to worry about. His green eyes shifted to look around the forest. "I was hoping to get a fat mouse or something for Quailfeather... but I haven't had much luck."
Oakstar - Camp - w/ cowbird 's Foxfang Oakstar gave his head a small nod. "As I said, I'll consider it. If his mentor believes he is ready, then the patrol will be his final test before he earns his name." the leader assured the deputy. "But for now, I'd like you to look into who we will put on these patrols. There should be two main groups so no cat is overworked. Once we solidify our plans, I'll make an announcement before moonhigh." he explained. The large tabby paused and then rose to his paws. "I think I'll go speak with Milknose about this. I want our medicine cat to be ready if something goes wrong."

brambleflightFoxfang bowed his head at the departing tom and sat there, thinking about the best cats for the mission. Sunripple would want to come- she was a strong warrior, but like Robinpaw very young. He didnt know whether he wanted her to go on the field like that especially if Oakstar was being reserved about her. Stormcloud however would make a good choice. A strong able warrior he was. Him and Pantherfur- another loyal and skilled tom. Starting off with those two, he headed to the elder's den searching advise from Rosepetal.

brambleflightMilknose was rearranging the meager pile of herbs that she had collected nearly a quarter moon ago. She had already used half- a recent wolf attack left her the clan broken again and she had to patch them up, pleading with StarClan to show them a way out of it. There was a rustle behind her and she heard the respectful mew of Oakstar as the leader's scent wafted to her. Milknose turned around, moving the herbs over with her tail to look at the tom. "Yes, I'm sure we may. How can I help you Oakstar?"

brambleflightMilknose hadnt been expecting the leader to actually have a plan to combat the wolves. Not that he wasnt good at his role, but a wolf was another level of danger. A whole pack... well that was beyond words. When the leader proposed that she be there when they go off, she nearly scoffed. Her days of dashing about as a battle medic were far behind her. But she knew that she had no choice. Not only was she to obey her leader, but she was the only medicine cat and was the only cat remotely trained to deal with injuries. "Of course then, Oakstar," the old she-cat mewed with a dip of her head.

brambleflightEmbarrassment flowed to Milknose's face and the medicine cat looked away from the clan leader. "No I understand," she meowed. She still wouldnt voice her displeasure- there was no alternative to the task. "Are there going to apprentices there? I could use one or two to help me carry any herbs."

!! Update Time !!
I know we aren't very far into the rp but since plans are being made plot wise I wanted to see what direction you all would like to take the story in! I will put off going through with this next plot point for a little while so that we can continue to rp out some character interactions so there is no rush in voting! c: The plots below can be found on the front page as well on the sixth post if you ever need to look back at the options.
Foxfang and Oakstar have pieced together a plan to deal with the wolves. It involves creating a patrol of skilled climbers and trackers to hunt down where the pack is located and then keep an eye on their movements, to alert cats if they are being hunted or watched. Essentially, these patrols will act as a security system as well as rescue team if needed. So, how well will these patrols work out?
Option #1 : Good..Ish For this option, the plan works out. Though it takes time to get used to it, the clan is ultimately safer thanks to the patrols. Cats are finally able to breath again and not worry about the looming threat of wolves. However, it instead presents a new issue for the clan. With these additional patrols, clan is being stretched to its limits. There are less hunters, therefore less prey, and also less border patrols, making the territory seem more approachable to trespassers. The clan will need to reassess the way of dealing with the wolves or find a way to increase the number of warriors.
Option #2 : Almost In this option, the clan tries their hardest and it almost succeeds. Almost. Right when the clan begins to think it is working, the wolves seem to realize they are being watched. The patrols suddenly find themselves being targeted, even getting stuck as the wolves seem to assign guards to them, constantly tracking their trackers while the rest of the pack hunts. It's not working and the clan is back to square one.
Option #3 : Terribly For this option, the plan completely backfires. The clan attempts the patrols and the wolves catch on immediately. Only in this option, they track the patrols back to their camp. It seems the wolves not only wish to hunt the clan but also get rid of them! The pack surrounds the camp. The cave is too small for the wolves to fit so it becomes a waiting game. The clan is trapped in the confines of camp as the pack remains waiting for them right outside. The cats must somehow flee the safety of their home or risk starvation to wait out the wolves.
Option #4 : Your Ideas Have something else in mind for what we do? PM me!

brambleflight- option 3 sounds the best but I feel as if they should have a way to escape like in a other exit, you know?) Milknose nodded at the leader's decision. This would be a risky attempt and something told Milknose that something would go wrong, but she pushed it aside- she was always worrying and that wasnt beneficial to her clan right now. "Well, I'd have to go out and collect some more herbs. We will need all we can get if this goes the wrong way."

brambleflight- oh of course, if it was well known the wolves would have figured out either way, right? I like the apprentice idea- maybe Robinpaw and on of Foxfang's daughters could recall of a secret exit and then a plan could follow.) Milknose looked back at the leader, nostalgia rolling back to her suddenly. "Its been sometime since you organized a herb gathering patrol," her purred, her voice rusty as she recalled the two back in their apprentice days.
