The Study Hub A chatroom for students Hello! This is just a rather plain (for now) chatroom for students of all types, currently in school or personal studies! If you aren't either of those, you are of course very welcome as well! The main purpose for this chatroom is to supply a place for discussion, venting, or collaborative efforts related to school! Got a gripe with your professor? We're here to listen. Need a bit of grammar and spelling check? You can come here too! Just want to talk about the cool cats you saw on campus today? Please do! (Share pictures o.o ) All in all, this is just a safe space to be yourself and not feel guilty about being on the forums when you know you really should be writing that essay. Two birds with one stone, right? You could (possibly, if you want) get advice, but also get to chit-chat!
Resources: [To come]
Note: Mintedstar: I'm an employed and certified level 2 (so 2/3) tutor at my college, so if there are any questions about English and the like, I can try and tackle them. I'm also very willing to peer review anything if anyone wants or needs.

Hello! I'm mintedstar! I'm in junior college, almost into Uni, and an English major! Currently I'm taking creative writing most notably, which I will rant endlessly about.

I guess we're going for introductions then?
I'm currently in 1st year of university, but my major is a bit of a mess. I specialize in pure (theoretical) mathematics, but with concentrations in statistics, economics, metaphysics and logic. (Roughly analogous to Math with minors in Business and Philosophy).
This semester I'm taking 5 courses; 2 math, 2 philosophy, and 1 econ. Only 2 months left!

hi! here's my intro~
i'm a sophomore majoring in anthropology, and will probably end up declaring a minor in french.
anthropology takes a four-subfield approach (archaeology, biological, linguistic, cultural), and while i'm most interested in linguistic anthropology, my uni does not offer a lot of courses/have the faculty to teach courses in it haha. so i'm still trying to find which of the other subfields i like best.
my current courses are: - intro to archaeology - language, thought, and culture - nature/culture of the greater amazonia - intermediate french II

My college education history is kinda complicated but that doesn’t really matter so here’s my intro:
I’m a web design major through an online college. I’m in my second semester and currently only take 3-4 classes (so 9 credits) a semester. I think makes me a freshman? I’m not sure but the average person finishes my degree in 2 years. It’ll take me 2.5 to 3 years if I remember correctly.
My current classes are: - HTML & CSS I - Color Theory (finished) - Typography (just started) - Computer Technology

I may have not actually graduated high school, but you may find I am very rounded in a lot of things. I'm not going to be able to tutor in any capacity, I don't have the credentials for that, but I like to help where I can. I excel at solving the weirder problems that can happen with a fresh viewpoint, especially ones that arise socially or within some kind of limitation such as mental and physical health. It may not be the most academic but if you're like me sometimes learning the material is not always what you need to actually finish your classes.
I also probably won't be here too frequently on account of not being in school anymore but I'd encourage people to just @ me if you think you need help with something like that.
(I'm also not too bad at reviewing english papers or creative projects and I think Mint can vouch for that.)

Hey hey, I'm a Forensic Science major and I'm currently taking 5 classes. 2 bio classes, a math class, Beginning Japanese, and a Laws of Evidence class. Not sure if I can help anyone else, since I'm such a mess myself haha But I'd be happy to just chat or whatever :3

I was literally only halfway through your post, Leap, and I was literally about to post "I can vouch for that!" when I saw the ending. XD
In other news, I got a peer review due in a couple days as well as hosting (assisting in hosting) a whole presentation for my job. I'm stressed about the latter, but it's coming up so far I don't have time to worry about it, heh.

Ooh, I loved forensic science despite the fact I'm bad at math and science. I enjoyed learning about it, that and criminal justice were interesting classes to me.
I've never had to buy specific art supplies in my life except for like elementary school but then they were like a normal thing to have. No one told me trying to figure out the difference between a sharp pencil and a soft-leaded pencil would matter. Is there even a difference?

Believe it or not, yes there is. Does it matter in the long run? No, not really. XD Speaking as a part-time artist. Sharp pencils usually give crisper lines, while soft-lead are thick, soft lines which are good for shading.

Physics student. Currently doing physics of stars, solid state, quantum computing, nuclear and particle physics. Have done quite a bit more by this point as I'm nearing the end of my third year, 2 weeks more until I have all the knowledge.

Sharp pencils usually give crisper lines, while soft-lead are thick, soft lines which are good for shading. This alone tells me I’m not creative at all— I spent an hour on amazon last night and talking to my sibling to figure out what kind of pencil would be best. I finally ordered all my art supplies and now my browsing history and ads on any sites I have that aren’t AdBlocked are recommending art things to me.

I got sick of them so quickly because we all know graduation doesn’t work like that. You can take the art ads.

Here's my set: I use my promecha and staedler pencils graphing/sketching, the rotring for tests, and the kuru toga for normal work. The leads are also for their respective pencils/tasks. I also have sleeves that I carry them in because its cool that way ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Banned from the original WCFThose all look very nice. Is there a particular reason for using the rotring for tests and kuru toga for normal work? I would think those are the same sort of task.

I don't have a particular reason, its just superstition to me at this point lmao. Although the lead I use on the rotring does last longer, so I've practically never had to swap in new lead during test. Not to mention the fact that it doesn't roll around at all if I need to put it down for some reason.
