(Same! I've got another jump in saved up based on the original cats around the lake. It's how the group originally got established and the whole plot is to basically build up their numbers and have kits. XD)
Meadowthorn's breath caught in her throat. She choked down the onslaught of tears as she thought of her bright, strong sister now dead. Her sister, her rock, their leader. Never again would she hear her laugh at her or tease her or her scolding tone. Meadowthorn shuttered at the future ahead of her. She had no idea what to do. The only thoughts rolling through her mind over and over again were 'What would Rosestar do?' Giving a stiff nod to Jayflight, she gave a small smile. "I truly hope you don't have to go through it either." Her gaze slid to the medicine cat's den, knowing that the possibility of them sharing the same pain was high. Meadowthorn turned to pad away before pausing and turning back to the tom. "Jayflight, I think you and I will need to talk later. I want to talk about their kits. Can I talk to you after this meeting?" Starchaser

[ Yewshade and Slatestrike | medicine den | @ anyone ]
The harsh sound of coughing in his ear caused Slatestrike’s head to shoot up from his paws, yellow eyes alarmed as stared at his sleeping littermate. Even though she wasn’t conscious, Yewshade was trembling and wheezing in her sleep, occasionally breaking into fits of spluttering and hacking. Her normally bright, vivid green eyes were screwed tightly shut, as if she were in unbearable pain. A pit formed in the tom’s stomach at the sight of his ill sister, carefully settling in closer to her in case she needed anything. Slatestrike was deeply concerned for the she-cat; no matter what medicine Slowshadow or Rowanpaw provided, Yewshade‘s condition only seemed to worsen. Hopeless, the grey warrior closed his eyes and sent up a pleading prayer to StarClan, wondering if they even heard his desperation.
”W...Water...”
Slatestrike’s ears pricked at attention as he heard his sister’s weak, shaky mew. “You need water?” He asked her, earning a simple groan as a response. Immediately, the tom was on his feet, in search of one of someone who could bring Yewshade water. He would do it himself if he didn’t want to keep a constant eye on the feeble feline. “Slowshadow? Rowanpaw? Could I get some water for Yewshade? She’s finally thirsty again.”
[ i also have heatherfall and hazepelt if anyone has an open chara ]

Walking into view of the Great Willow, Blackbird stared in wonder at the weeping branches and the sight made her sigh softly in relief. The Great Willow was a grounding figure for all cats in the clan, it was a symbol of life, with its roots keeping the clan grounded. She glanced to her left as Riverpaw stepped forward, his silver tabby coat brushing against her, and she watched as the young tom slithered forward to hunt among the many roots that weaved in and out of the earth. Blackbird looked to her right - to Horsetail - and purred in amusement. Riverpaw was so caught up in his own thoughts it was almost as though he'd totally missed what the warrior had said. "Apprentices, huh?" Her tone was lighter than it was before. Riverpaw clearly detected something as his body quickly dropped into a hunters crouched among the roots. His tail tip flicked back and forth, and soon he sprang forward. He lifted his head proudly and looked back at the two warriors, his eyes gleamed. A fat mouse hung from his jaws.
"Well done, Riverpaw!" Blackbird purred before she glanced at Horsetail, "I suppose we'd better hunt too, or else Riverpaw will have to feed the clan himself."
Sorrelspots muscles relaxed as she entered the forest, her eyes bright as she glanced around with her mouth open, taking in the scents around them. She glanced to Frogpaw, watching as he stalked away determinedly. She took note of his excellent crouch, and when he reappeared she purred warmly, "Very well done!" Her eyes flickered to Finchcall, "You've got a promising warrior there," she meowed. Wildfire* - 🦉 , Blaze ♡
Foxpounce walked close to Larkfeather as they headed towards the pines. His amber eyes narrowed and he looked down at his paws. Larkfeather's fears ricocheted in his mind and he felt as though he needed to comfort her, but he found he didn't have the right words or correct answers. His ears flattened on his head for a moment and he sighed quietly, "I... I don't know what will happen..." The tom wasn't known for being so unsure, but the circumstances that gripped their clan currently were so unique it brought out new colours in all cats. A sudden surge of determination filled Foxpounce and he looked up again, "Whatever happens, Larkfeather, I won't let us get hurt! I'll do my best to protect everyone!" He looked at her again, his eyes filled with anguish, but also a certain soft gleam that spoke the words, I will protect you. There wasn't anything a mere warrior could do to prevent illness, but his fierce loyalty and protective was admirable.
Inside the medicine cats den, Kestrelclaw coughed and wheezed. His matted pelt hadn't been groomed in days, and his yellow eyes were closed to slits. All he could see was the light as it shone through the entrance of the medicine cats den. His eyes closed again, and for a moment he saw Rosestar in his mind, and her scent filled his nostril. Perhaps she was guiding him. Perhaps he was reaching his end. "R-Rose...star..." his voice creaked painfully. [ I dunno, is Kestrelclaw gonna die? i feel bad but also if he survives it would be sad because rosestar ded :c ]

Wildfire* - 🦉Hollypaw wandered out, her ears erect, she muscles rippling under her multi-colored pelt as she strayed further from her Clanmates. The joyful praise given to her denmate did nothing to cheer her up as it usually did. Mourning and strss seemed to dampen her senses and it would be a little bit of time before she actually caught a strong enough scent. Rabbit, she thought excitedly and immediatley yet quietly picked up her pace, turning around the brush to spot a small rabbit nibbling at berries. It was so close she wondered briefly why it didnt move- until it suddenly shot off, pelting north. "No!" Hollypaw screeched and dashed after it. aether"I- uh, yes," muttered Horsetail and the tom turned away, climbing deftly over the thick roots, careful not to scare away the ultra-sensitive prey they resided underneath. Actually catching prey ought to bring him back to a more normal state- though in the back of his he knew it wouldnt be normal for a long time.

Slowshadow nodded in response to his apprentices report. "I see. I suppose I should not have expected much else." he said. "Are you feeling alright, Rowanpaw?" he asked, tilting his head a bit to the side. She looked a bit worse for wear. If she was getting sick... Well, it would probably be best to not think about those implications. Sounds of pain from the sick cats in the den suddenly filled Slowshadow's ears. His attention turned to Slatestrike. "Ah, if you so desire. Water would likely do her some good." He responded. ( Starchaser , 𝓹𝓪𝓻𝓽𝓵𝔂 𝓬𝓵𝓸𝓾𝓭𝔂 , anyone else in the medicine den)
Snapwind remained silent as the other molly spoke. Perhaps StarClan wouldn't will their destruction, but it seemed as though they were not doing anything to help. "I have faith is Slowshadow." she said, continuing her work. "Him and Rowanpaw both are quite intelligent." She continued. Perhaps it was best to keep her dwindling faith in StarClan to herself at this moment. After all, where she saw emptiness, it was likely that others saw comfort.

thehorsiestadultMossywing's mind raced at the she-cat's clipped words. There was always the dark possibility that Slowshadow wouldnt find anything to help the dying cats and they'd lose half of their clan. That would be heartbreaking. There was also the darker possibility that Slowshadow and Rowanpaw would catch the sickness and that would leave the Clan even more exposed- to the point of extinction probably. Mossywing wasnt a cat with dark thoughts yet chaos seemed to bring in more forbidden scenarios and she began to wonder... just where was StarClan letting this lead to?

(I will be on tomorrow after work! I will be very tired since I have to get up at 4:30AM...Ugh. I will be posting plot ideas in a moment!)
Frogpaw beamed at Finchcall and Sorrelspots. He went to let out a purr but was distracted by Hollypaw's call. He dropped the mouse and darted after the rabbit. As young and nimble as he was, Frogpaw was no match for the speed of a rabbit. He gave a mighty leap but landed just after the prey. "Fox-dung!" He spat. That would have been great to give to the queens, he thought. He turned around and marched angrily back to his fresh-kill. cowbird , aether , Blaze ♡
Larkfeather finally let out a harsh cough. Even though she was in the early stages of the sickness, the cough still sounded bad. "Thank you, Foxpounce. I know you will be great for the clan." She padded past the tom and flicked his nose with her tail. "Come on. Let's try to find some prey. I'm sure we will need as much as we can." Sick or not, Larkfeather did still have a bounce in her step. She could only pray that it stayed. aether

So as far as plot goes, we have a couple of options.
Option One: Basically, it's the simple and easiest one. The medicine cats heal the sick cats (most of them live), and Kestrelclaw is able to become leader. There would be some drama in regards to cats dying, but the clan would be safe. There isn't anything I really have beyond that. if we wanted to continue with the RP (if possible), we would have to find a new plot from that point on.
Option Two: The would be a little more long winded. Kestrelclaw and many other cats would die before a cure would be found. After Kestrelclaw dies, cats would be divided who should lead next. The medicine cats would insist on waiting for StarClan to tell them before taking any cat to see them. The clan would either be divided into two or three in support of a cat to lead. Depending on who becomes leader, the clan could either repair itself and learn to true again, be divided into two clans, or go into an all out war with itself. This would probably lead to more cat deaths and possibly the destruction of the clan itself.
Option Three: This one is the more complicated one. A group of cats would storm into the clan, claiming they were sent there to save them and rule them. Kestrelclaw could either live or die in this scenario. Living would mean driving off the cats that had saved their lives (but were controlling and changing the clan and abusing the warriors). Dying would mean the new cats would assume rule and basically change the clan forever. It's a little more difficult to do this one since it is so complex and more solid RP type than jump in. But I still want to put it out there.
I will be doing a vote on this after the vote for the clan. But let me know what your ideas are!

[ Slatestrike and Yewshade | medicine den | thehorsiestadult ]
Slatestrike felt instant relief as Slowshadow materialized before him, seemingly satisfied to hear that Yewshade wanted a drink once more. The she-cat had been refusing water for at least a day now, so her returned thirst was a good sign to her brother. He dipped his head at the medicine cat gratefully, trying not to pay too much attention to the groans of the sick surrounding them. It was hard enough dealing with a sick littermate; the news of Rosestar's death while kitting had made Slatestrike feel even worse than before. He tried not to think too much about how they were practically leader-less, with Kestrelclaw barely hanging by a thread.
"So, where could I get some moss for the water?" He inquired, hoping that he wasn't holding up the already preoccupied medicine cat.
[ Heatherfall | camp | @ anyone ]
The pale-furred molly sat hunched at the edge of camp, her fur fluffed out nervously as she stared off into the distance. It had been a hard few days for her Clan, and things only seemed to be getting worse. Rosestar was dead and Kestrelclaw was sick, leaving she and her clanmates leaderless. Behind her, Heatherfall's tail twitched irratically, the only giveaway to the rampant thoughts racing about her head. She was restless to go out and get her mind off her worries, but found she could hardly move from her position. She felt strangely stuck, as if something was keeping her back. Her blue eyes flitted around at the sight of movement, as if watching out for some predator.

Wildfire* - 🦉Hollypaw hissed when the rabbit turned the corner, sprinting off to safety. Anger pulsed in her as she stalked back to the waiting warriors. At least Frogpaw had caught something. She was gonna go back to the Clan empty jawed. She looked back at the place the rabbit disapeered. I bet it doesn't have to see its family suffer. (Ok, I'm split between option two because in my head i want my cats to survive- at least Leopardshade and Quietthroat. But at the same time i want Meadowthorn to become leader cause thats what i felt was the whole plot. Im leaning more towards the second but that will mean probably killing off even more cats...ugh choices.)

𝓹𝓪𝓻𝓽𝓵𝔂 𝓬𝓵𝓸𝓾𝓭𝔂Skymoon padded anxiously around camp. She saw Mossywing and Snapwind making a makeshift den for the sick which was a great idea but Skymoon wasnt exactly the biggest fan of the latter, so she made it a choice to avoid her prescene as much as possible. She looked up and Heatherfall was crouched by the camp entrance, her tail twitching and her head making small, sudden movements when anything shifted. Skymoon made her way over the the young warrior. "Heatherfall," she mewed softly, not to scare the she-cat.

Watching the apprentices trail off on their own hunts, Finchcall's gaze flickered back to Sorrelspots. "He is doing his best," he meowed with a small smile. Frogpaw had a lot of drive. The warrior let out a soft huff of laughter at Hollypaw's cry and watched as Frogpaw took off after her. "Hopefully, there is still prey around after that," he mused with a teasing edge to his voice, looking back at Sorrelspots, "Hollypaw might have managed to scare it all off." His eyes were glittering with amusement.
Cloudkit - open
Cloudkit let out a soft sigh as he blinked his eyes open a couple of times. The young tom was resting within his appointed nest inside of the medicine cat. He felt tired and his chest ached. Frogpaw flicked his tail back and forth rapidly, but he wasn't annoyed with Hollypaw. He knew how hard it was to catch rabbits. The annoyance came from the fact that he had wanted to catch a rabbit for the queens. And he had missed it! Annoyed, Frogpaw glanced at the warriors. They had yet to catch anything. He doubted they would be heading back yet. Maybe he would catch a squirrel as they went further! Ears twitching, Frogpaw turned his head as Shadowstep joined them, holding a rabbit in her jaws! The apprentice dropped his prey as he looked at the rabbit in shock. "Was that the one we chased?!" He gasped angrily. cowbird , aether , Blaze ♡ , Starchaser
Meadowthorn nodded to the tom and headed over to the elder's den. Heart hammering in her ears, the she-cat entered the den with the senior warriors and elders. These cats were all older than her. They were even older than Rosestar. But her sister had never been nervous about talking with them. She was. She hadn't really needed to converse with them a whole lot other than hunting or patrolling borders. She mostly hung out with other cats closer in age to her. The golden she-cat fought down her nervousness and nodded to the cats in there. "Ok. I called you in here to figure out a plan in case Kestrelclaw doesn't make it out of this. We...we sadly need to look at the future if he isn't going to be able to fight this off. But we should wait for the rest of the cats before we continue." Slowshadow narrowed his eyes at his apprentice as she darted off. He never imagined her as the type to be difficult. But, that didn't matter at this moment. Rowanpaw was able to function and she was young and strong. There was a good chance she could fight this disease on her own, should she actually have caught it. His attention turned to Jayflight as the deputies brother entered the den. "Of course, Jayflight. He has yet to find out." Slowshadow said. "While an announcement of this magnitude might not be best for one's will to fight... He has a right to know. Especially at this point."

Blackbird watched as Horsetail crept away to hunt among the roots of the Great Willow, and although she should be comforted by the thought of the clan being well fed, she felt nothing but a hollow emptiness within. At least Riverpaw seemed to be determined and distracted - although Riverpaw was easy to distract, the tom was so ferociously determined that he mind would stay pinned to one task at a time without fear of another. Sighing softly, Blackbird padded forward and crouched to hunt, her eyes locking onto a mouse that nibbled at a seed among the roots. It was a short time later when Blackbird gathered her prey - two mice, dangling from her jaw by their tails - and Riverpaw bounced to meet her with his mouse and rabbit as well. "We should head back to camp," Blackbird suggested around her mouthful, and Riverpaw nodded without dropping his catch. Blackbird turned to Horsetail and tilted her head, her ears flicking, "Are you ready?" she meowed. (cowbird ) Sorrelspots watched as the two young apprentices sprang away, and she purred softly in amusement. If she had their infinite energy, she was sure should would have joined them. Instead, she moved forward herself, her mouth opening slightly as she took in the sights and scents of the forest around them. Her ears perked and twisted towards the sound of Hollypaw's yowl. For a moment, her pelt bristled, until she realised it was a yowl of frustration rather than pain or terror. "Yes, if there's anything left we'll be lucky to find it," on another day it might have been annoying, but Sorrelspots was happy for the distraction. Sorrelspots glanced to Shadowstep, surprised evident in her posture, then she relaxed with an amused purr. "I think prey was running well, until Hollypaw scared off everything from here to the Moonstone." Her words were gently humourous, not meaning to offend the young apprentice. [ cowbird , Blaze ♡ , Starchaser , Wildfire* - 🦉 ]
Foxpounce eyes flashed with concern and he turned his head to look at Larkfeather. His paws hesitated as he continued to the pines, and his stomach felt as though it were full of buzzing bees. Anxiously, he flattened his ears on his head, he was torn on what to say, but Larkfeather continued ahead, and he merely followed. It was a short while before they reached the pines that was home to many birds and the occasional squirrel. He paused and tasted the air, already scenting a thrush nearby. Glancing to Larkfeather, he flicked his tail to indicated he was going ahead, and he prowled on the ground, edging closer to the tree in which the bird sat. He was downwind, and it sat on a low hanging branch, so when Foxpounce sprang forward it was an easy catch. He picked up his prey and carried it back to Larkfeather, "You should eat something," he meowed seriously, nudging the fresh kill towards her, "You need to keep your strength up." His amber eyes met her gaze. While usually Foxpounce's gaze would be filled with pride or snark, it was now filled with concern. He was just getting closer to Larkfeather... he felt something for her... the sound of her harsh coughing rang in his ears, and he felt determined to keep her safe.
Kestrelclaw remained still in the medicine cats den, repeatedly floating in and out of consciousness long enough to splatter out some bone-chilling coughs, and mutter to himself in words that were incomprehensible. He wasn't conscious enough to hear as Rowanpaw and Slowshadow conversed in the den. His condition was worsening, and the soft rise and fall of his chest turned to ragged, gasping breathes.
Tatterpelt had taken the herbs from the medicine cat with objection, but she dropped the issue and munched on the bitter-tasting herbs. She was sure that there was a kit or a warrior who needed it more than she did. But as she glanced over her shoulder to the pitiful clump of fur that was their once-great deputy, she thought of what a painful way to reach StarClan it was. Her tongue swiped and licked the last bits of the herbs from her muzzle. Oh StarClan, what are you doing? the elder thought desperately. She hunched up with her paws tucked under her body, and she closed her eyes to rest.

StarchaserHollypaw stared as Shadowstep walked out from the bushes and dropped a rabbit down beside the two other warriors. She understood warriors were better hunters with more experience, but that didnt make her feel better, especially considering she was going to take her first assessments before the sickness caught all the cats it did. Depressed, she murmured in Frogpaw's ear, "I'm going back home." Without waiting for his word, she silently headed back to camp. As she padded through, her tail drooping, she spied Batpaw sitting by himself, seeming just as lost as she was.

Wildfire* - 🦉 and aetherHorsetail had found three mice with ease- it was like he lifted leaves and they just sat there, waiting to be caught. He padded back to Blackbird and Riverpaw who were ready as well and with a nod, he motioned to Blackbird to lead the way. As they headed back, Horsetail realized he felt lighter, less pressed and he enjoyed the stress-free feeling as he knew that would change the moment they stepped back into camp. As they neared the camp entrance, there was a rustle and Hollypaw shoved out, marching slowly to the camp herself, seeming rejected. What's up with her?Blossomheart stood at the edge of the elder's clearing before following Meadowthorn into the den for the meeting. Never in her time as a warrior had she felt a sadness to do a task like this. Senior warriors and a retired cats, as much respect they deserve should not be the ones deciding who will succeed a leader. Yet here they were and it was emotionally draining for the usually unmoved she-cat.

[ Heatherfall | camp | cowbird ]
Heatherfall blinked away from where she had been looking to see Skymoon beside her, the she-cat’s expression nervous as she stood beside her. The molly was quiet for a moment as she gazed at her clanmate, still in somewhat of a daze, before finally greeting Skymoon was a small dip of her head. “Hi,” she mewed, her voice rasping in her throat. Hadn’t been out of camp to get a drink of water, Heatherfall’s mouth was dry as sand and made her voice croak. “Do you need anything?”
[ Slatestrike | medicine den | thehorsiestadult , Wildfire* - 🦉 ]
The smoky grey tom blinked gratefully at the two medicine cats, feeling slightly better that he wasn’t causing them too much trouble. As he padded away from the front of the den and back to his sister, Slatestrike decided that after Rowanpaw returned with water, he would venture out and hunt something for his sister, as well as whoever else needed the food. Besides, he was taking up unnecessary room within the small space reserved for sick patients, and also didn’t want to catch the disease. He needed to get some fresh air, even if he was wary of leaving Yewshade behind.

Meadowthorn nodded to Blossomheart. "Hello, Blossomheart. How are you feeling?" The she-cat was a little nervous. She...hadn't really thought this through. Meadowthorn hoped that they would have guidance for them all. She was pulling on whiskers here. Her thoughts were tone between her sister, Kestrelclaw, and the kits. It was barely focused on the clan and the fact it could fall apart from this. She shivered at it. How clear her mind had been yesterday! It had been all for the clan: hunting, patrolling, fighting...now she could only think of her family. And what a heartbreak it was. Larkfeather shook her head to Foxpounce. "No. We should feed the other's first. The clan needs it just as much as I do." She took a step back from the prey. "Please, save it for those that are really sick. I can just eat a mouse or vole when we get back." Larkfeather wasn't trying to make her situation light. She knew it wasn't. But part of her couldn't stand to eat the thrush. It was large enough to fill her easily. But she wasn't that hungry. A mouse would fill her up nicely. Gazing into the tom's eyes, Larkfeather thought she saw a flash of...something in his eyes. She dismissed any thought of it. Now was not the time and...no one would like her anyway. aether
Frogpaw grumbled to his mentor before grabbing the prey and following after Hollypaw. The she-cat was down in the dumps after the hunting session. Maybe I can work with her afterwards, he thought. That might cheer her up! He nodded to one of the warriors as they entered camp. Padding past the fresh-kill pile, Frogpaw headed straight for the nursery. "Leopardshade! I have some prey for you!" cowbird
