Rising Dawn wystia . second in command . tiger // Anione, Forest of Whispers
________________________________________________________ ━ ◈▾✘▾◈ ━ Rise was a patient creature.
Perhaps a bit cold and uncaring, but he was patient. He waited for what was needed. A fighter, one of the best that his kind had ever seen. He looked at the odds of a fight, he looked at everything that could go wrong and faced anything that might be fearful. His icy blue eyes stared at any problem with a daring look. Begging fate to try and twist, daring destiny to change course.
He fought to keep everyone safe. That was his job. All he needed was his staff and that was it. He could face anyone with it, he could enter silently and leave just the same. His tribe, the humans whom were one with his tribe, sometimes even the rare fearle. It was Rise's job to lead, to protect and to fight. When everyone needed a figure to look upon, when everyone needed someone to turn to, it was always him. At least, in the northern parts of Anione.
Everything was simple. You get in, you fight, you get out. It was as easy as counting, as breathing. It was as easy as walking, as blinking. Rise would find a target of the Cloaked Blades, a darker force that he suspected originated from Helsvind, he would attack the camp, village or temple, and leave. He would never harm anyone that deemed innocent. The cages (or rather, didn't humans call them prison cells?) that held anyone that fought for the southern side of Anione were freed and guided away. Rising Dawn was the name that was known as a leader, as the face of the southern side of the Anionian war.
A dream was what called him away.
Strange, childish, impractical. There were many words that Rise had for himself for following this dream, but it was so real, it had felt so... different, that he had decided to follow the path. Bitterness filled his chest at the thought of this being merely a trick from the Cloaked Blades, to lure him into a trap, to lure him away from those whom needed him.
When Rise had left, he had put another in charge, a young wystia not too different from him, of the same tribe. Her golden eyes had the same look in them as he did, but she did not lead alone. Her heart bound stood behind her, his warm gaze reflecting his willingness to keep her safe, something that even Rising Dawn did not have. The duo would lead the war for him while he was gone. He was hoping that this would not take too long. As much as he trusted her, as much as he trusted the both of them, he didn't want this stress on anyone else more than it had to be.
The middle of Anione was a mysterious place, one that many could walk into and never be seen from again. It was said to be magical, to be guarded by magic and everything that comes with it. The golden eagle had told him to come here. To follow this exact path, follow it into the mist, into the forest, into the blanket of silvery white.
His ears flicked and he hesitated for a mere moment. Rise's blue eyes stared at the dull forest, a thought crossing on why he was even here. Something in him told him to, something in him told him to go forth, to follow this, that this was more important than keeping the Cloaked Blades out of Anione, away from his country, away from his people, friends, family. The golden eagle's voice had reminded him of the young wystia that was the heart bound to the female he put in charge. Moon Stream's heart bound, Sun Flare. Perhaps it was the golden color.
A breath left him and he closed his eyes for a mere moment, allowing himself to calm his nerves and head forward. His staff was a part of him, a part of his magic. It was not physically there, but in a moment's notice, it could easily be in his hands. His finger-tips buzzed with magic energy, ready to summon it as he opened his eye and walked through the mist, down the path.
This was the hardest part. Leaving behind everything to go into a place that was rumored to swallow you whole and leave behind nothing but your memory. The Forest of Whispers was a silent place, a place that was quiet, hushed. The magic that flowed here was strong and passed with everything from the gentle breeze to the ground under one's foot. Rise's heart leapt at the feeling of this place, the joy that it made him feel. He felt light. He felt comfortable.
He felt... home.
Bright golden gates peeked through the mist, the golden shine being similar to the golden eagle's feathers, the sheen cutting through the mist like a lightning blast. How it wasn't seen by even the forest's edge could only be explained by magic. Rise exhaled slowly, staring up at it.
There will be more. he heard the golden eagle's voice. Despite looking around, there was no one there. Nothing. When everyone who is coming arrives, the gates will open.
"Whoa!" a smaller voice gasped, a excited hint to it. "Are those... wings?"
The staff was in Rise's hands before he realized it, his blue eyes looking quickly around him, on guard. His feathers bristled and his wings arched higher, though they were pulled a bit closer. His tail swished over the ground and his claws dug into the dirt under him. There was no one that he had seen behind him, he hadn't really sensed someone else, and yet...
"Those claws! I thought the bird people had scary talons, but you-" the childish, young voice trailed off and he felt a poke at one of his feet, and he felt himself glare downwards, though his body merely gently pushed the creature off as his wings extended out and propelled him backwards a good few meters, closer to the golden gate. "Your talons are amazing! Those wings! They're so pretty! I've never seen a wystia like you before!" A child, giddily looking at him, not as a monster, but as an object of obsession.
"A child such as yourself should be more careful," Rise stated in a cold tone, eyeing up the small one's features. He'd normally treat such a small creature with respect, as he held fearles as equals. However, this one... was not fully fearle, and so, he had his caution with him. "You smell human, but fearle. What are you doing here, half-breed?" The large forest colored eyes stared up at him with a soft smile and tilt of his head.
"Didn't the peacock tell you to come here too? You heard his voice, didn't you? The stars said it! A giant bird man would be here!" A sigh left the wystia as he lowered his shoulders and with a flick, wrapped his staff back into a bracelet around his wrist.
"A Seeker. A half-breed, like you? There is nothing to say more, then." He saw the little mouth open up, but he glared down at the other, eyeing him up and making sure those words died on his tongue before they came out. "Regardless of your status, or not, talking should be kept to a minimum, half-breed."
"I have a name-" the boy started, but was quickly interrupted.
"I do not care. I have little tolerance for you or any creature like you, so remain quiet. Even someone as ignorant as you would know that this forest holds more than dreams, it holds nightmares." Swooping open his large wings, the giant of a wystia jumped up to a taller branch of a tree sitting in the rocky pass, glancing at any open point. Far out of reach by any normal standards, especially that little... thing. "You wish to live? Then you will be silent, fool."
The world he lived in, there was no time to be understanding or friendly. His country was in the middle of a war, after all, just after fighting back another country. Rise had traveled to come here, risking quite a bit, and the silence was needed to concentrate. To hear the song of the world around him and what the magic breathed, what it sang, what songs and tales it told. Most fearle creatures would understand, but a half-human one? Not so easily, it was unlikely he was able to hear the songs. Or rather, "read the magic" as most fearles stated.
His ear twitched as he heard humming, blue eyes opening to a glare down at the small halfling below him. The young-looking creature merely sat with his back against the rock out-crop, his tail curled neatly around him. A breath left him, but his words hadn't a chance to be spoken as the song of the forest changed, foot-falls softly being heard in the distance.
The staff was once more in his hands and he eyed the entrance below him, the hidden pathway to this large, golden gate. Stupid lost explorers, maybe? Assassins, come to try their luck with him once more? He wasn't sure who would be through there, but the land told of when a life-form was coming, and it never lied.
He noticed the boy stand up and brush off his clothing, wagging his tail to get the dust out, a cheerful expression on his face as he stared in the same direction. Though, behind that smile, he noticed magic form in the youngling's hand, from behind his back. So he had a form of defense after all, and wasn't as stupid as he seemed. Interesting.
Regardless, both were staring at the foggy forest before them, waiting to see what shape emerged.

Hicha wystia . The Strategist . Hippogriff // Anione, Forest of Whispers
________________________________________________________ ━ ◈▾✘▾◈ ━ Following a bizarre magic dream bird into the unknown wasn't particularly what Hicha expected to be doing today. It wasn't an unwelcome surprise, or even anything that would be considered out of character for the Wystia. After all, she was a scientist and a scholar. Following weird things into the unknown to find answers and erase "unknown" was just...what she did. While she may not have been considered a leader in the underground country of Zharva, it was no small secret in the area that she had the ear of many of the faces of the country. She wasn't a warrior, or any sort of fighter, Hicha had a steady, keen mind...and a bizarre, but often correct way of looking at problems to solve them.
And now? In the deep of the forest, swallowed by mist and following a magic dream bird?
Hicha felt optimistic.
Sure, this quest felt whimsical and bizarre and maybe it was a fool's errand, but it felt like the right thing to do. She could feel it in her whiskers, resonating deep in her bones. There was a certain low hum in her ears -- which were excellent at hearing, by the way, she'd already checked for tinnitus -- that encouraged her to forge ahead. Even if it logically made no sense, sometimes answers weren't logical, and that was okay. She knew what she was doing.
Even if she couldn't voice what she was doing and make it sound rational.
This was fine.
She could hear voices up ahead. Two men, from the sounds of it, and expecting others. It was a little disappointing, that she couldn't be the first one here to investigate this area thoroughly before the prying eyes of others intervened, but she supposed that was fine. At least she could end their wait for the others.
"I don't suppose you gentlemen are also following a magic dream bird, aye?" Hicha began conversationally, raising her hands casually to show she was currently unarmed, her bald tail waving in a rather amiable greeting. "If so, I believe I've found my company, and if it's the result of a dream, we can all be mad." If the greatest mind of Zharva was concerned about being seen as mad by a couple of strangers, she didn't show as much, instead throwing a cheerful looking smirk towards her fellow Wystian and the curious little half-Fearles boy. Which, he was half human, that much was clear by his smell. But that could be addressed at another time, she needed answers.

Biriona half wystia . the leader / leadership . wolf // Anione, Forest of Whispers
________________________________________________________ ━ ◈▾✘▾◈ ━ A dream. Biri had been ready to brush it off once she had awoken, ready to continue with her life. It was simply a dream and dreams didn't always need to mean things.
But she couldn't shake the feeling that it had been different from anything she had in the past. It felt like it was drawing her somewhere, a calling to her soul to bring her to some place. She couldn't exactly rid it out of her mind either. It was something that was hanging through her mind in the morning she had the dream. She was trying to ignore it, to forget and go on with her day.
It was a little difficult to ignore something though when you met with your younger brother that day and he described a dream that was far too similar to your own.
The surprise was probably obvious to Adirin, elsewise he wouldn't have pushed with questions on why exactly Biri looked as though she was contemplating everything that had ever happened. Upon the discovery that they both had a dream with a golden eagle calling for them, Biri and Adirin had put a hold on any plans they had that week. Or for however long it took to figure out just what was going on.
Adirin seemed extremely excited about the entire thing. He had been chattering on their way to this unknown place. "Do you think that there will be others there too?" "Do you think any of them might know one another like we know each other?" "Why do you think we got these dreams?" Amongst countless other questions.
Biri loved her brother. But sometimes, she still thought it would be better if he could be quiet every once in a while instead of finding something new to focus on and document. This is why since she became an adult she chose to travel by herself a lot of the time.
Of course, it was the one day she was visiting her mother and brother that things suddenly came together in such an odd way. And now, however much later, they arrived to where they assumed they needed to be.
Three people were already standing there, waiting around. It didn't look like any of them had been there for an extremely long time. Two wystia and a half fearle. She scanned them over trying to find some amount of a sign on what kind of people they were.
She genuinely wished her brother would keep quiet, but she supposed she didn't always get what she wanted.
He was waving his hand in greetings, "Hello fellow travelers! My name is Adirin and this is Biri! I don't suppose any of you know why exactly we were called here?"

M i s a k i wystia . the hunter . eagle // Anione, Forest of Whispers
________________________________________________________ ━ ☼▾☾▾☼ ━ All in all, Misaki was excited to be out wandering. For one thing, adventure usually made her fairly hyper. It was all the new sights and smells. Everything being new. So many things she got to learn about, just by walking off. Secondly, being outside was probably her favorite thing in the world. It didn't matter where, or who she was with, so long as she was outside. That meant she would be happy, even if she was attacked or annoyed. It's not like Hicha was always great company anyways.
Speaking of, where had the little rat wandered of too?
It was entirely likely that she had been the one to venture away herself, but Misaki would continue to blame Hicha. It was easier to push fault on her, especially since the older woman wasn't around to defend herself. Misaki wasn't even entirely sure why they were out walking the forest, but she wasn't going to complain about it. She would, however, complain about Hicha not being at her side. It made her worry. The shorter woman didn't know how to take care of herself, not really, and generally got herself into trouble whenever she could.
For someone so peaceful, she got into arguments fairly often.
Which was why, once she heard the sound of voices, Misaki felt a rush of panic shoot through her. She didn't need to get the little rat out of trouble. She would, of course, if she had to, it was just that Misaki didn't particularly want to at the moment. She was hopeful that Hicha didn't antagonize anyone too badly. The thought made her move faster, start running towards the sounds she was hearing instead of watching her steps closer or even looking at her surroundings. She could be upset about missing the views later. For now, she had to get to Hicha's side.
When she finally reached her, Misaki stopped in her tracks and looked at the others with interest. They were strangers, of course, but they were interesting at the very least. Instead of being supportive, Misaki decided the best move was to immediately cover the rat's big mouth, "I'm sorry if she offended or scared either of you." She bowed her head slightly, trying to be respectful of the men in front of her. It should be enough for whatever Hicha had opened with. Misaki could do little but stay positive. She stood straight after a few moments, letting any easy smile rest on her face. Unlike Hicha, Misaki was armed, but made no move to reach for any weapon.
She didn't fear them, after all.

Rising Dawn wystia . second in command . tiger // Anione, Forest of Whispers
________________________________________________________ ━ ◈▾✘▾◈ ━ At first, Rise's hand gripped his golden staff harder, seeing the human figured walk through the thick foliage, but he stopped and his ears perked slightly upon seeing her actually come into full view, his bright blue eyes scanning her over. Mouth opening to speak a foreign tongue, one that he knew the rat tribe spoke of within his lands, however, upon hearing her voice, his jaw clamped shut and his curiosity turned cold, his attention going elsewhere.
The wystian leader had more to deal with than just some... creature... that came from a different land. While he wasn't sure that there was a tribe down there, he was more than sure that her accent was not one that knew her ancestor's language as he did. A flat, disinterested look came over him as he stood a bit more tall, his claws grabbing into the bark as his tail lightly fell over the branch that he had perched himself on.
"You're chasin' a dream too? That would be Rak'yah! He's a really pretty peacock that's... like a divine being?" the young voice was quick to greet the other that had appeared before them, like a little puppy chattering away at something new. "I'm Izzy! Your accent... you gotta from Zarva, right? I'm from Svlane!" Rise's ears twitched as he heard two more foot-falls interrupt the flow of magic, his blue eyes instantly on alert and his body forming on guard, wings out-stretching to ready himself a second's moment to pounce.
Something in him, however, made him slightly... numb. It was something rather... strange, like a cold, yet warming grip around his body. This place, no one will bring you harm, the land has it's way to keep you protected, a haunting, piercingly familiar voice whispered through his mind. His free hand moved to his chest, as if to grab the hand he could've sworn he felt laying upon his chest. In that brief moment, he blinked his eyes and turned to look directly behind him, alert for more than a defensive reason
"Oh! nice to meet'cha! I'm happy to see you all!" There was a look from the half-breed as he followed his gaze, something that made him understand a secret acknowledgement. The muscles in his body relaxed as a wave from his hand melted the long golden staff into the wind, the golden light transforming around his wrist as a bracelet once more. The large wystia sat down on the branch and closed his eyes, leaning against the trunk of the tree, lost in memories, though his ears twitched, listening to the world around him yet.
Biri and Adirin. Their smells, they were related. One made him almost open his eyes, slightly hostile, and yet, his muscles stayed relaxed and no action was taken. He could feel the half-faerle trot up to them, his body moving through the space rather quickly to meet these new strangers.
"I'm Izzy!" the young-sounding halfling repeated to these two as he had to the rat wystia. "You're like me! Half-breed, right?" There was barely any source of natural magic from the female, it was quite obvious at that.
The air froze around as quick foot-falls came through the forest once more, and yet another soul had introduced itself into this mess, causing him to open one of his eyes, just enough to glance at the new figure and then close once more, picturing someone whom had long left the realm of the living.
"She hasn't said anything, I promise! Another wystia! Wowie, I can't believe this!" the young voice was quick to excite. But, rather, he seemed to tire of the greeting he had used... three times, now? "This is such a rarity! Wystia! Three full-bloods and a half-blood! Here. Together! Because of Rak'yah! This is so so so cool!"
Sett... he whispered softly under his breath, barely even spoken at all. The numbness hadn't left, the shadow of a hand still around him, keeping him calmed and relaxed. I wish you were here to see this. A rarity for sure, to see him relaxed, but it wasn't just that. He knew that this place was one that the name's owner had always wanted to see.
"I'd say let's all introduce ourselves, but the stars said there will be eight of us! And..." the young boy stopped to count softly, he could just imagine that he was pointing at every living individual before the gates, including himself. "... there are only six of us! Two more are supposed to show up!" There was a moment of silence as the half-breed paused. "At least, I hope I counted right..."
How reassuring.

Ri Human. The Negotiator . griffon // Anione, Forest of Whispers
________________________________________________________ ━ ◈▾✘▾◈ ━ "I don't suppose you're waiting on us?" A soft voice came from the path next, and within moments, a human woman stepped forward. She was tall, but very delicate looking, appearing almost hesitant to join in the conversation with a bunch of strangers. Especially with as hostile as the air felt right now. Maybe she and Kagiso could help with that, though?
"Dream bird? Magic quest?" Questioned the rat wystia, who had officially taken up residence next to the cat wystia. Sharp little fangs grinned in greeting, and Ri felt that the gesture wasn't mocking or hostile, so she just sort of went with it.
"Yes, actually!" Ri moved to shake the other woman's hand, then moved along to make an attempt at shaking everyone elses' hands as well. It was only polite, and she figured since they were on a quest together now, it would be helpful to be kind and respectful to everyone involved. "I'm Ri, and this is-"
Oh, right!
"Kagi, I think I found the others!" She had forgotten that she may have gotten a little ahead of her husband, in her haste to investigate the voices she'd heard. This whole quest was exciting, a chance to help others and be with a group of like-minded friends who only wanted to do good and improve stuff for the world. It had been especially thrilling to discover that her husband had the same dream. She had to admit, she'd been a little worried at first, before she'd found that out. She'd never want to wander away from him, even with as exciting as this whole adventure would be. She couldn't bear it, and had assumed that she wouldn't have been able to bring him along if he hadn't had the dream.
Magical quests of untold destinies usually didn't allow plus ones.
"Hicha." The rat girl introduced, before gesturing towards the cat wystia. "This is my baby sister, Misaki." She didn't hesitate in shaking Ri's hand, which the human woman appreciated. Things could be pretty strained between human and wystia, she knew as much. So finding at least one without that mistrust was hopeful and calming.

K A G I S O human-wystia . the warrior. lion // Anione, Forest of Whispers
________________________________________________________ ━ ☼▾✦▾☼ ━ The dream that he received meant there was danger. No part of him wanted Ri there for it. Still, he couldn't stop her from from going. It was their duty, as two of those called. He wasn't happy to have her come along. In fact, if he ever came face-to-face with whatever sent out this dream, he was going to punch it in the face for putting Ri in that position. Kagiso didn't care about his own well being, since he could handle himself, but he didn't want his wife being dragged in the middle of everything. He'd rather she never fought at all. It's not like she even liked to battle. To be completely fair, he didn't like it either. It was just his job. He felt obligated to protect the weak.
The way he had grew up, he knew that no one else would protect them.
Then Ri's voice came from further down the path and Kagiso started to panic. When had she gotten so far away? He had stopped for a second to look at a pretty cool looking moss growing on one of the trees. How had she had vanished so quickly? He groaned, picking up his staff without pause and running towards Ri's voice. "I stop to look at one plant and you've already found the rest of the crew." For the record, this had not been the first plant he stopped to look at. Which would probably explain how they were the last ones to arrive.
He wasn't sorry, however. This whole thing was stressful and nature helped him calm down. Ri usually agreed, but she was probably too excited about everything happening. He couldn't fault her for it, though. Honestly, her positive attitude was infectious. If anyone ever asked, which they wouldn't because it would be a weird question, Ri was his sunshine. She was part of the reason he wanted to help all these people. She's a big part of why he didn't settle down and have a family, because he knew that he had to protect her and people like her. Even though she could totally take care of herself when things came down to the wire. Not that anyone would believe him when he said it, but he wouldn't let people doubt her.
Once he was fully in the light, he swung his staff in a circle at his side slowly. It helped him calm down. There were a lot of strangers here. Kagiso took his place by Ri's side, easily towering over her. Even with a lazy smile easing his face, his body language was tense. "Kagiso." He nodded towards the others after introducing himself, and watched the cat wystia wave at them. He was grateful to her, for not commenting. Hopefully the others would be just as polite. He pulled off human pretty well, but the amount of his magic would be the key of telling them otherwise. Not that he had to tell them. So far it looked like all of them were wystia, or at least not fully human.

Adirin human . the adventurer / curiosity . owl // Anione, Forest of Whispers
________________________________________________________ ━ ◈▾✘▾◈ ━ Izzy, Ri, Kagi, Hicha, Misaki, then himself, Biri, and then the one guy that hadn't actually introduced himself. Well, in all fairness, Adirin supposed he only introduced himself and Biri to half of the group at any rate. Which only meant he needed to reintroduce himself which wasn't difficult.
Well, not for him. He looked over to his sister who looked to have stiffened at Izzy's blunt observation. He put his hand on her shoulder for comfort and it seemed to help a bit as she nodded in response to Izzy. "Half-wystia yes. You're half-fearle, right?" she carefully asked to the little creature. Adirin knew that Biri was indeed aware he was half-fearle, but it was more a matter of respect for her to ask.
It didn't play a major role in things at any rate, specially considering the addition of the missing few people. As they introduced themselves, Adirin brightened in realization as he realized that he and Biri weren't the only sibling group within this larger group. Then there was the final two members of the group, Ri and Kagiso it seemed, who also appeared to know one another ahead of time. When Ri approached Adirin and Biri for handshake greetings, they both obliged. Even if he was a bit more enthusiastic about it than his sister.
"Right! A reintroduction for me, I'm Adirin, and this is-" he gestured to his sister who shot a glare at him with hardly any real fire to it.
"I'm Biri. And he's my brother."

I'Zell half-fearle . healer . pegasus // Anione, Forest of Whispers
________________________________________________________ ━ ◈▾✘▾◈ ━ When he had read the stars, Izzy had seen the colors, but that was all that was given. It had been whispering to him through the falling snow, a clearing in the frosted never-ending winter's sky. Though there were many stars shining down from beyond the clouds, when he had looked up, he had seen eight stars shine through the darkness. One by itself, seemingly wanting to take lead, another seeming to hesitantly push forward, shining the brightest, and in turn, making the rest shine. Two stars were endlessly chasing one another's glow, like day and night, another two stars shared similar shapes, and yet, they were uniquely different. There was the one that seemed to be himself, the one to hold them all together, or so he viewed it as.
So, when the couple had came through the misted forest, the leaves of the bushes trembling at their arrival, a smile warmed the young half-fearle's features even more. Of course! The last two stars were ones together, protecting and nurturing one another. He should've guessed that they were married!
"The name's Izzy! Half human, half fearle, from the northern snows of Svlane. Nice to meet you all!" he beamed, his icy blue eyes holding a excited light in them as he silently (but visibly) counted out everyone in the clearing, taking a hold of their names as he did so. One, Rising Dawn. Two, himself. Three, Hicha. Four, Biriona. Five, Adiirin. Six, Misaki. Seven, Ri. Eight, Kagiso. "That's... all eight," he softly whispered and a small little laugh escaped him, quiet, looking down for a moment. "I was worried that I might've counted wrong, but I didn't."
A cautious glance went to each of them, his ears perking up, his tail swaying a bit. There were a lot of mixed emotions, emotions that he could... see? He viewed them like colors, scents into the air. There was a lot that he could only put together in childish terms, being quite a small and young minded individual, magic-infused to forever be a child.
A deep breath went through and he closed his eyes, murmuring an ancient language he only learned from the stars, a cold, numbing sensation falling his mist around him, spreading. "I know that it's scary, and it's a little weird to be so far from home, to be away from the calls of battle, to follow the whims of a dream." Izzy looked between them all, hopping from in front of one person to the next, gently grabbing their hand, going backwards from when he counted. Kagiso first, taking his hand with a calming smile and letting the wintery magic of his take hold, and going to each of the others.
His magic worked in many ways, he used the calming snows of winter to soothe those agitated or fearful, but that's what his mist had been for. As he went around, letting the snowflakes settle in each of the individuals' hands, a blue light circled them, his magic working to be a childish joy. Sometimes it didn't work, sometimes people were just too strict or stubborn to accept the nudge of magic for views. Izzy was a healer, he was a childish creature who loved to bring the joys of childhood to everyone, to play and have that special moment recaptured from childish dreams. He finally went below the tree that Rise was sitting upon, looking up to him.
"We all left something behind. We all have shadows that haunt us. But those shadows, while cast dark and cold, aren't the only things in this world." Izzy swirled his magic and let the snowflakes stir within his palm before raising them to his lips and blowing softly, like a blown kiss, the magic splashing like glitter across the form on the one out of his reach. "But those shadows are something that affect everyone. You've heard of fairy-tales long ago, right? The ones that tell of the giant ascended creatures, wystia, fearle, humans and everything in-between serving the Ancients, being chosen as their warriors to fight back against a tide of suffering."
No one will force you to be here.
That voice... The silvery winter colored fearle's ears perked up, his fur fluffing a bit in excitement. You could practically see the stars in his eyes from all the energy suddenly coming to him. He didn't need to see the reactions of everyone else, he knew that they could hear it too! His voice!
The forest, though quiet as before, fell so silent that he could hear his own breathing, his heart-beat, his pulse. Through the thickening mist, a warm, golden glow came. Feathers of gold, particles falling behind in the flight, a crown of golden feathers upon him, it was the one that had called them here. The giant avian flew up to the golden gates that held some of his essence to stay sealed shut, perching upon them and turning to look at them all.
You all had lives before this. And no one will force you through these gates.
His voice rang among the clearing, though his beak never moved, his pure white eyes seeming to stare at all of them, yet focused on each individual. To those not meant to hear those words, to those not meant to see his glow, there was silence, and a thick mist that seemed to choke one's ability to think. But those who could see him? He shined through this, his symbol being of hope, resilience and loyalty, protecting those under his care and for what they all stood for.
Should you accept your fate, your destiny will become greater than any creature has had for the past thousands of years. The world's sanity, health and care will all be up to you, the weight will be placed upon your shoulders. Fame, fortune, these will be yours, though I doubt these fables are much news to you. You are all known for something, having hearts braver than the rest, intelligent minds that out-think those around you. Powerful magic that can slay armies, or calm even the wildest of beasts.
The mighty giant bird shuffled his wings and tail feathers, the gate opening under him as he leapt and hovered in his flight, right above the gates before diving down and flying straight through each of the eight, nothing happening at first as he went through them. But, as he spiraled upwards, Izzy noticed something as he glanced from the bird to the now opening gates that a white light flowed out from.
Your previous images will pale in comparison to what the world will know you for. Legends from each country, no longer. Becoming a team, flowing like clockwork, it will be your turn to become something more. Once you step through those gates, you will leave your old life behind. And instead, you will become Legends.
Something that caught the half-fearle off-guard, was the sudden movement to his right, the towering wystia of the griffin looking through the gates. Those eyes had seen a lot, Izzy could see the pain and suffering, the longing and loneliness. But, beyond that, he saw a hopeful look, and the usual scowl was instead, replaced with a smile.
"So what are you waiting for? Dreams-schmemes, if we left our places for this, what do we have to lose?" The giant wystia stated with a small laugh. He started walking backwards, giving his wings and arms a stretch before giving finger guns at the remaining seven. "Last one there is a rotten egg!" And with that, he turned around and bounded through the light, his form seemingly disappearing once through the light.
Confused, only fora moment, wondering his his magic worked. He noticed that the arch above the gate held gems, eight in particular, and the second one perched above was glowing orange. His tail swished and he took in a deep breath before letting out an excited childish whoop, calling out in a energetic way.
Izzy's ears perked up as he followed the example set by the person who seemed to have a stick up his butt, dashing through the gates and into the unknown. It was like something had came over him, his childish wonder being nothing in comparison to the light, bubbly feeling in his chest as his legs started running automatically, until the white light melted into a world beyond his hopes and dreams.
Rise had been standing there, a childish expression of wonder on his face as he looked around, the large, ancient stone bridge that they waited on for the others connecting to mountains, hidden away in fog, pillars miles upon miles high (and magic) keeping the bridge together and holding them up so high. Animals thought to be extinct flew under the bridge, rare creatures being a common sight as they soared through this hidden land.
Dragons of all kinds, griffins, hippogriffs, pegasi, tricos, even dinosaurs flew under them, some on their own, some in flocks. A growl alerted him from his amazement and the half-fearle turned to see a giant tiger as tall as the wystia himself, radiating a orange energy, almost like a spirit, sharing the same colored eyes as him. A hand laid upon its ghost-like fur, a strange calm coming from Rising Dawn.
Hooves clopped behind him and the fearle jumped and turned around, looking up at the equine that had seemed to manifest before him, seeing his own icy blue eyes in the pegasus' own. As he reached out, he felt an icy swirl, a bolt of energy surge through him. The pegasus was just as large as the tiger, and yet, he wasn't afraid of it, nor the tiger. In fact, he felt... over-joyed at this. A part of him wanted to race across the bridge, but he felt it wasn't right until they were all there.
"The Symbol of Courage," Izzy murmured as he pressed his fingers through the light, soft fur of the pegasus whom stood before him. His wintery eyes glanced over at the wystia, who seemed memorized by the orange feline. "Fighter of Orange, companion of the tiger." He smiled as he looked up at the pegasus, whom looked back down at him and nickered softly. "Just as I am the Symbol of Patience. Healer of Light Blue, companion of the pegasus."
Eagerly, the young-minded little half-creature looked back at the gate, able to see clearly through the entrance, though he was sure that it was only a one-way vision, not being able to see through from the other side. It was like staring through water, as it rippled the image. He could see the others, and as he looked up, he saw that the other side, this side, held the gems as well, and now the fifth one, previously white, held a cyan, light blue color, glowing just as brightly as the orange one.
Now, it was their turn to step through.

________________________________________________________ ━ ☼▾☾▾☼ ━ As everyone introduced themselves, Misaki looked as if she was about to die. She didn't remember anyone's name. They had all just said their names and Misaki still wasn't sure if the small name was actually Isiah or not. She was pretty sure it wasn't, and that her brain was just coming up with random thoughts to fill in the missing information. This could be a fun little game, though. They were all going to get nicknames now. She would explain nothing.
Obviously, Hicha was ratbag. It's what her sister deserved. The extremely tall, brooding man would be Tall One and the extremely small, extricable man would be Small One. The other pair of siblings, the ones that kept glaring at each other, would be Happy and Grumpy. Together, they were just the other pair of siblings. The inferior pair, obviously, because even if Hicha was a ratbag, they were great siblings. Finally, the couple, who would just be called Plant Man and Human Woman.
Misaki was pretty sure she would forget most of these nicknames by the end of the next hour, but it had entertained her while the others were talking. She hadn't exactly cared about what they were doing, but the Small One's sudden hold over her hand. Once she looked at the others, she noticed they were generally fine with what was happening so she settled down. Plant Man seemed to be a stable character, and he looked relatively fine. Misaki supposed that it was time to pay attention to what was happening now, if the small man was shaking everyone's hands.
Plus, he had pretty cool magic. The snowflakes were a nice touch to bring her attention back to what he was saying. Shadows left behind, huh? She looked at her sister, raising an eyebrow. They had really grown up in the underground. Misaki didn't fully share her sister's accent, but it was clear where they had come from. She couldn't exactly speak for her sister, but she knew that they would not be scared of the dark or their past.
When the voice interrupted, Misaki didn't flinch. It was disruptive, but she wouldn't let it unsettle her. She wasn't scared of a voice in her head, that would be rather ridiculous. At the avian's appearance, Misaki couldn't help but step forward. It was a curious thing, glowing and proud. She smiled lightly at the sight of him, she had been right not to be afraid.
The large man was suddenly happy, which made Misaki's smile turn into a grin. They were all right to be excited about this, and there was no way she was going to be a rotten egg because a tree-man had decided to make this a game. "Oh this is so happening!" She yelled, not sparing a glance at her sister before sprinting through the gates.
If she had thought that she was giddy before, seeing the area before her made her weak. There was a Pegasus. That was so cool! Misaki really had to learn that guy's name, he was obviously important. She didn't notice the bird coming towards her until she heard the high-pitched whistle from above. It was nearly as tall as her, which, for an eagle, was a little freaky. If she hadn't been so excited for the future, she would've screamed. Something inside her let her knew before she murmured, "Persistence." It fit her, she thought idly, as if a cat and a bird would get along so well.
Misaki didn't pay any attention to the next one to go through the gate, instead focusing on what was in front of her. She didn't think of her sister, or the others. Instead, she reached her hand out to touch the eagle before her. With the feeling of feathers beneath her fingertips, she let out a soft peal of laughter. "I could get used to this."

Biriona half wystia . the leader / leadership . wolf // Anione, Forest of Whispers
________________________________________________________ ━ ◈▾✘▾◈ ━ Biri watched carefully as Izzy made a move to greet everyone with a handshake of sorts and a little bit of snow magic. She was a little bit on edge when she initially saw it being used, but it didn't seem as though it was harming anyone.
It didn't mean she wasn't watchful when Izzy grasped her brother's hands. They may have their spats over small, little things (even if the argument between Adirin, trying to convince that Biri needed to get better at socializing, and Biri, certain that she was fine with her social skills even now, was a persisting argument across time), but she didn't want to see him injured by something as small as even a snowflake or two.
He seemed fine, however, even as Izzy approached her and grabbed her hand. Then she realized just what kind of magic was being used by the little halfling.
Her previous stress, ironically, melted away as she felt the snow magic overtake and it was... relieving. She wasn't quite accustomed to this kind of lightness in her chest, something she hadn't really felt since- well, since she was a child that hadn't yet understood the darkness in the world.
And she had learned about the darkness fairly quickly for a child.
It certainly made the voice that thundered out much less out of nowhere than it was. She was left feeling more wondrous as the creature that called them here appeared. Far less cautious than she likely should have been over seeing such an incredible being.
She listened to his words, sobering her from even the most fun of snow. Obviously, there wasn't much else to do, but she listened well and she listened hard.
It was a choice. A choice of comfort and familiarity and of the life she had known before this point or a choice to move onto something greater. To become a symbol instead of a wandering fool who stuck her head into too many people's business.
The sad part was there wasn't much a life for her to give up for something like this. She had her brother. Her brother who was standing next to her with wide eyes as he watched the bird sweep into the gate. Her brother who had the same option and more to lose from this deal. Her brother whom Biri didn't know would choose to leave behind everything he crafted for himself behind, after all these years.
Yet, she knew she couldn't base her own choice off of his, no matter how much she would want to. She knew that if now, after everything already, if he chose to go back to his life, he'd be fine.
Biri went through the gates.
Upon entering, she couldn't help but be a little surprised by what awaited. Honestly, who would knew what was going to be on the other side upon entering. The surprise, however, was not of disappointment in the slightest. No, it was an increased awe and wonder over the beings that had already appeared to meet those who had entered.
A tiger stood with the griffin wystia, a pegasus that towered over the little half-fearle, an eagle that found itself in front of the cat wystia.
Biri supposed she would have expected to find a creature waiting for her when she turned around. She couldn't find herself startled as she stared deeply into the eyes of the creature, head bent down to meet her face to face. A wolf.
It felt insane to feel so calm whilst standing with a created that could easily walk over her as they were, where her ears would only barely brush against the underside of the creature. But looking into its eyes which spoke a thousand reassurances that this was meant to be, well, Biri couldn't help but give a breathy chuckle as she leaned into the creature. Her forehead met the wolf's as she grasped the fur on the it's neck in something of a small little hug that could only work in such the way they were situated. She broke the eye contact for a second the first time, only to close her eyes in such a relief before opening them again to meet the wolf's.
The second time she broke eye contact was when a soft voice called to her. She turned, a hand still on the wolf for reassurance, only to see her brother standing there with a smile, a large owl behind him, attempting to nudge Adirin's face in order to get his attention once more.
"Adirin," Biri spoke quietly with a growing grin, "You came through the gate."
He laughed in response to that and Biri started to move towards him. She unfortunately moved her hand off the wolf, but was glad to know it was at least following her to her brother. "Of course I did. This is- this is the best adventure I could ask for, I could never had turned it down."
There was a small pause before he continued speaking, with a whisper but a large grin on his face, "Curiosity. An explorer." And Biri couldn't help but laugh over that- his need for adventure brought him in through the gate and was reconfirmed as his driving force afterwards. It was certainly a perfect match for her brother.
In response to his admission, she looked to the wolf standing next to her before murmuring in response, "Leadership." Saying it felt odd and foreign. Leadership- a champion, a leader, someone to follow. She wouldn't have pegged herself to be that type at the start of all of this. But someone out there thought she was, and she supposed she'd have to have trust in them then.
She could tell he thought the same way with his laugh, but he said nothing on the matter. Instead he leaned into the owl with him before looking to the others there. Biri moved to touch the fur of the wolf once more before following her brother's gaze.
