Who do you think Bristlefrost will get with, if anyone? I don't really care as long as its not Rootpaw/spring. The reason I put Snaptooth is because I checked on my Kindle if he had any speaking lines, turned out he had this whole interaction with Bristle where he was pretty friendly. There was also this thread here where someone asked Kate if Snaptooth would die, and she replied with something like, "Dear Snaptooth, he stays". Sounded kinda sus to me considering he's super bg. Anyway, what are your thoughts?

Oh man, this is a tough one, I'm not really feeling any of these.
Stemleaf - she's already tried with him,and failed, and he likes Spotfur, and they're cute together.
Rootpaw - Bristlefrost doesn't really seem into him, and he's from another clan
Snaptooth - I know they've done close family relationships before, but he's her direct uncle, his brother is her father, and they had that thing where Rosepetal liked Foxleap, but then they apparently decided to change their minds on it, since he was her uncle. So, I don't really see Snaptooth x Bristlefrost being a thing because of that.

Honestly I just hope BristleRoot doesn't happen, and I doubt BristleStem will happen anyhow considering Stemleaf doesn't like her the same way and because of SpotStem. I wouldn't mind her with Snaptooth or her being single, though.
As for Snaptooth, I'm assuming he becomes a little more relevant or he's still mostly a minor character.

Stemleaf: I'm pretty sure this won't happen. And even in the event, something happened to Spotfur, I just don't really like nor care for Stemleaf as a character tbh.
Snaptooth: I feel this one is a bit of a stretch, but I like their name, and they are pretty friendly. So I guess I wouldn't mind.
Rootpaw: I don't mind him as a character, and his crush is cute, but I just don't want anything to come out of it. I want it to be a realization for Root, and feel how Stem felt when she confessed to him.
Basically for the most part, hopefully, none of them. I kinda would like her to stay single I guess. Ya know, since Sparkpelt didn't, ugh.

Wait, why Snaptooth? Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that Bristlefrost's direct uncle?

When you put it like that...I think I do mind it now. I'm not big on pairing that closely related tbh.

I mean, generally I hate forbidden relationships. It’s unnecessary, uninteresting drama, and with many relationships it feels very forced, LeafCrow, TigerDove, OakBlue But personally (whilst I dislike the ‘you saved me, now I love you!”) Bristleroot is actually quite cute. And that’s coming from someone who hates forbidden relationships! I wasn’t so keen in TLS, but in TST is cute. Besides, Stem and Spot are cute together, and Snaptooth is pretty irrelevant.

I hate how Bristlefrost is toward Rootpaw. For someone who has suffered rejection and obviously suffered she is quite insensitive of the young cat's feelings towards her. She was also a bit arrogant at the fact a cat liked her yet at the same time she found it comforting. Either way I think Rootpaw deserves a better mate. I also don't see an issue with forbidden romance but the fandom seems sick and tired of it for some reason, but that isn't why I don't ship them. I think Stemleaf is kind of annoying. If I had to choose any cat it would be the adorable Snaptooth...although they're kin...but aren't most cats in that Clan kin anyway? Such as Fernsong and Ivypool? Meh they're cats. Doesn't matter that much!

I also don't see an issue with forbidden romance but the fandom seems sick and tired of it for some reason, but that isn't why I don't ship them. The reason she was initially a bit hostile had to do with not only did liking Stemleaf and thinking he returned her feelings before he told her that he liked Spotfur, but Rootpaw is also a cat from another Clan. His crush got to the point where he brought prey specifically to her, which embarrassed her in front of the entire Clan. Also, think about who Bristlefrost's aunt is: Dovewing. It wouldn't be unreasonable to say that she knows the story (or at least part of it), so for a SkyClan apprentice to be so obvious about his feelings for her probably helped with said hostility. And they ended up making amends, anyway. Also, the hate for forbidden romances has to do with that there's too many of them. The hate doesn't come from out of nowhere, and there's been a forbidden relationship in literally every arc so far (except for DotC, for obvious reasons). Of course fans are going to get annoyed when a certain plotline gets recycled over and over again, and even more so if nothing is done about it in-universe.

Fernsong is the kit of Cinderheart and Lionblaze. Ivypool is the kit of Whitewing and Birchfall. Lionblaze and Cloudtail are like second cousins? Which would make Fernsong and Ivypool like third cousins, which isn't enough to even count. I could be wrong about how they're related though. Whereas Snaptooth Bristlefrost's direct uncle. But you're right about them being cats, I just don't think Fernsong and Ivypool was the best example, Dustpelt and Ferncloud would have been better lol since Dustpelt is Ferncloud's direct uncle.

I get confused because Dustpelt's lineage wasn't something that was ever directly confirmed. It was...hastily explained at best. I think in this series it's starting to matter less and less if cats are related. If it ever did. It's an odd concept but if you think about it, it's almost like the Clans encourage it:
-The Clans are each mostly just a huge family, eventually the kin will merge.
-The Clans discourage inviting outsiders into them. (Less so now than they used to)
-The Clans forbid being mates with cats from outside of the Clans.
At that point it's like their asking for families to just...breed. With themselves.

Imagine if it was realistic..don't animals who are super inbred have a lot of genetic defects? I think WindClan or maybe RiverClan would have the most cats with defects, which I find kind of odd, because I think they've had the least. WindClan has had Deadfoot, and RiverClan has had...? Whereas ThunderClan has had Featherkit, Snowkit, Jayfeather (though, he is part WindClan..so I guess he could count for WindClan)

If she HAS to get with any cat (we all know how much the editor's love shallow romance in the series), I prefer it to be a cat she's NOT directly related to, or at least distantly related. Maybe Stormcloud, Mousewhisker, or Molewhisker. Heck, Shellfur might even be a good choice. Plus with him being a tortoiseshell, he'll most likely be sterile.

I was also thinking of how the Erins just...didn't seem all that clear with the kin of Ravenpaw, Dustpelt, and Sandstorm. It was made clear that Redtail never had any kits in his life despite them at one point claiming that he did. I personally think that lineage was all over the place and I have just come to terms with it already.
I wish the Clans had more cats born with genetic defects though. It just seems so interesting to read about the hardship cats born with challenges face. It's a lot different than cats who just suddenly get injured or crippled later on in their lives.

Agreed, like I can hardly count Jayfeather since he had powers, I just want to see the POV of an average disabled Joe, you know? Also, speaking of cats they need more of...color-points! Like, I've seen so many foster kittens that are color-points

Uncle/Niece is too close imo. So Snaptooth is definitely out.
I honestly don't mind RootxBristle. Root is a sweet, sensitive cat and Bristle has a good heart, though a bit naive at times. The only problem is their belonging to different Clans. They'd make a nice couple otherwise. And as others have pointed out before, there is a possibility that the editors will push forward this relationship in order to challenge the warrior code.
I think StemxBristle is dead in the water at this point. Stemleaf is clearly devoted to Spotfur, and Bristlefrost's behavior in TST only heightened that. But as I have said on multiple threads now, I suspect that Bristle is destined to become Thrushpelt 2.0 to StemxSpot kits.
