Does ShadowClan have SO many cats?
On another thread, someone pointed out that RiverClan probably has the least cats in the allegiances, and even though they don't have the least, it's close.
Going by The Silent Thaw allegiances...
ThunderClan - 48
ShadowClan - 32
SkyClan - 33
WindClan - 25
RiverClan - 29
I figured that after what happened with Darktail, ShadowClan would have WAYYY less cats, even with those Guardian cats they took in.

Snowbird and Scorchfur have been working hard at repopulating Shadowclan.

Snowbird and Scorchfur have been working hard at repopulating Shadowclan. Haha, isn't that the truth? But like a week ago, I counted all the cats who are related to Snowbird x Scorchfur, including Berryheart's mate, and over half of them weren't related if I remember correctly, I'll have to do it again later.

Oh weird, I thought they might have bred half the clan, but I guess Dovewing and the Guardian cats have mixed the gene pool.

Shadowclan cats returned to the Clan, many having new kits and those kits were not killed. Thus the population increased. I’m glad they have many again, I feared they would have been way too small again.

Intense periods of death spikes breeding rates because there are more resources to go around in the aftermath which are then exploited for a short term boom. That is the reason that unless you destroy all the feral cats in an area, killing them all won't work because the survivors will merely spike their breeding rate in response to the lack of competition.

That makes sense, because ShadowClan did have a lot of kits during that time.

Dovewing joined with her kits, as did three loners. Many ShC cats returned to the Clan with new kits of their own. The Clan filled up again quite quickly. Basically, without the purge last series, ShC could easily have the same amount of cats TC has right now.

Wow It's kind of strange, that RiverClan, who is probably the best off territory wise, and they also get into the least fights, have one of the least amount of cats.

Look at the original RC from when Riverstar was leader. They only had 8 known cats when we last saw them. 9 if you count Flower Stream from the MFV manga, who I'm assuming was RC.

There's no need to have many strong, young hunters since catching and killing fish is far less physical activity intensive activity. Because there's no need, there's less kits born.

What about WindClan? It seems like except for a few select cats, they can't really fight one on one
