IT'S STILL 2019 IN MY TIMEZONE DAMN IT (I want it to be known that I made my deadline)
What's this now?
This is my pretty much usual at this point gift bomb. Generally considered my holiday one, but I often do something for the end of the year shout out and considering this is both late and includes 50 people by my count I figured I needed to combine.
This year I went all out to celebrate the end of 2019. I have made so, so many close friends and kept alive my friendship with old ones. This year, for me, has been really good for that.
It's also been a year of reconnecting. This year, I have not truly lost contact with anyone - though sometimes conversation has been spotty. But this year I have been able to reconnect not with one, but with three of my closest forum friends who I lost contact with on the old forums. Having the knowledge that they are alive and well alone brings me such happiness, but the fact that I was able to speak with them again means so much. This year also marked my first ever meet-up - 3 times. XD And also my first trip alone! I got a new job which is challenging and I'm making new friends. This year has been a big challenge academically and in the workplace, but as usual the people of the WCRP forums have once again helped me through it.
Here's to 2020! May it be better than this year! May I meet more wonderful people! And may I keep all of the wonderful people of this year close! <3 You all are the greatest, I want you to know that.
Rain:
+ Halloween Town prize:
I honestly had a whole lot of fun with both of these. It's been a while since I've done pastel, but it used to be my favorite medium. I'm impressed this year I got to do so much of it. I think these two were some I did fairly well and I'm super glad you liked them!
Thank you for being such a wonderful person. I think I screamed plots at you more than anyone (with the possible exception of Stri) this year. And you've listened to them all. I honestly appreciate you listening to me ramble so much. Also, finding out just how much you draw Myrnin was hilarious. I wish to go into 2020 with more time to do art for you now. <3 You are a great friend, thank you.
Hawk:
+ Halloween Town prize:
I tried something different with L than I've ever done before and I think it ended up looking good! I'm so glad you liked these! I hope you find something magnetic for the canvas, heh. I only later found out I had more that could be hung. XD
Thanks for surviving the M&M room with me. Also thanks for being my plotting buddy, because I think I would have died very slowly otherwise. I kinda still am. XD Also, thanks for helping revive my Kid muse. It's been really awesome RPing him again. There is a whole lot that I don't know how to say, but I'm really pleased I've gotten to know you more this year. You and Rain have been around since I first joined TPH and that's been great.
Strider:
+ Secret Santa gift:
I honestly was super hyped when I got you for the SS to be honest. Hindsight is 20/20 and I forgot there is not a lot of wall space. XD IOU a mini Nico drawing or something which will fit on your wall. Something along those lines. But that aside, the fact I got to draw all three of these characters was really, really fun! Admittedly Crutchie's expression ended up looking like he was sticking out his tongue. But watercolor shading improvements!
You have been the light in my life this year. From RPing to talking with you I have been very, very happy to call you my friend. Particularly these last couple of months have been so, so, so fun. Thank you for taking the time to get to know this insane person and let her into your life. <3
Sandclaw:
I was so excited you asked for a collage! I had a really fun time picking out photos from my stash. I wanted it to have a blue/green/gold theme. Which I think I managed!
We haven't been talking very much yet, but I have really enjoyed what we have spoken about so far! Thanks for talking to me and I hope we get to talk so more in the future. Your willingness to listen to my ideas has been so appreciated and your interests are very fun to hear about.
Also, all the new fonts pictured in the below Weavesilk pictures were downloaded because I was looking for those fonts you suggested so I am 101% blaming you.
Starchaser:
I picked a cool color scheme with just a hint of warm colors in the center for either symbolic reasons or just because I kinda get a cool colors with warm color center vibe from you. I like thinking like that. Ye, it's weird. I tried making it star/flower shaped as well. The font is Moon Flower and it's one of my favorite fonts. (People tend to crop these for signatures apparently. I am 100% fine with that.)
When you turned up on Cure I nearly cried. Thank you for the surprise of coming back and I am very happy we got to start chatting again. You've been just as fun to talk to as 4 years ago and I have missed that a lot. <3
Bolderpelt:
I just posted this here for fun. She left the forums two years ago. o3o I still post these here for kicks and giggles because I get to say nice things about her behind her back (and then remember a week later and send it to her).
I have appreciated your encouragement so much this year. It has helped me through a lot and knowing I'm able to talk to you means so much. Thank you for being around for another year and I am very happy that despite the fact we are both swamped with school we can still talk with each other. <3
Dingoleap:
I choice these colors out because it's what I think when I hear the words Dingoleap. I wanted to make a flower that looks like it might grow in Australia. I also wanted to use colors and shapes that remind me of all you and I talk about. The font was chosen because of the stars and moons. I was weak and thought they looked cool.
We've both been busy, particularly this last six months, but that's alright. <3 You still have talked to me so much and I'm so glad that you have been getting better jobs and have been able to travel this year. I particularly appreciate you sinking me down into all the shows you watch because haaaaaa nothing is better than screaming at each other over things like character development.
I hope we get to talk more in 2020 and I hope both of us get to find good places to be with low stress. <3
Pumpkin Pie:
Sue me I made a cat with green eyes. XD Also, the font is was picked out because the title was Fall themed and you always make me think of Halloween and Thanksgiving. Orange was the theme for obvious reasons ... most notable it's the color I think of when I think of Fall ...
Thanks for keeping Pretzels running! It's a beautiful chatroom and very supportive. I always feel comfortable there and I'm glad that we have gotten to talk. <3
chickenfriedchicken:
Here's your cat! Hope I even partly managed to get the tabby markings to work. I will admit it looks better when it's the 3 in by 3 in canvas it was painted on.
It's been great chatting with you for the past couple months! You're so fun to chat with about pets and latest things going on. I'm very interested in seeing where it goes from here. Please keep in touch.
Shiningdiamond:
(Characters featured: Rowlin (I tried) and Myrnin)
"Hello my dear friends and welcome to this game show!" announces a rather boisterous exclamation from a speaker in the ceiling.
"I really don't think this is a good idea," said Myrnin, running a hand through his hair. He glanced to the side, at the other booth. This at least meant he was playing with a blinker he vaguely knew. What had been his name again? Robin? Ronan? Re-ha-ha?
Ah. Ah, wait. He had a name tag.
Rowlin.
Myrnin glanced down as well, poking at his t-shirt and finding it had a name tag on it as well. How charming. They had spelled his name right.
"I don't think the House is taking suggestions," pointed out Rowlin, though he seemed mildly interested in the whole concept rather than afraid or nervous about playing against a sentient, omnipotent House that could very literally kill you whenever it wanted.
Myrnin thought he had just the right measure of weariness thank you very much.
"First question!" boomed the voice, the words appearing on the large digital screen to Myrnin's right. They were bright LED lights too. The kind that hurt your eyes if your too close. Myrnin did not like that in the least.
"What it the longest river on Earth!"
"Nile," echoed Myrnin and Rowlin at the same time, both seeming rather board at the prospect of these questions. Myrnin squinted at the other vampire and stuck out his tongue. Show off. The least he could do was try to seem interested. Rowlin didn't rise to the bait. Whatever. Myrnin didn't have to pay attention to him.
The questions, at least the next five, seemed to be based completely on whether or not Rowlin and Myrnin could say an answer faster than the other. Myrnin and Rowlin were usually fairly matched, though because of Myrnin's annoyance at how easy the questions were he often let Rowlin slip in ahead just to see what would happen. The other vampire was just that ... a vampire. And also apparently a teacher of some sort. History, if Myrnin had any guess. This was just an assumption. Could have been Geography as well. As soon as they actually got into anything modern Myrnin would be doomed, but for the time being he knew just what he was doing.
"What is the current president of the United States?" asked the screen and the voice from above. Myrnin frowned. Okay, he didn't know that one. He shifted hesitantly, then glanced in the direction of Rowlin.
"All yours, buddy. I doubt Teddy Roosevelt is still alive."
Then Myrnin started chewing at his nail, thinking about that. Then he added, "I doubt he is." Didn't mean he wasn't. How could Myrnin really know?
Then he glanced at the little tally mark under their respective podiums and noticed that his and Rowlin's, against strange odds ... hadn't moved at all.
"Odd," he muttered. They had both been getting questions right, sure, but Rowlin had been getting them right first. This last one was a perfect example where Myrnin hadn't known the answer at all. (Something which Myrnin vowed would not happen again. He'd look up the answer when he got home ... probably. If he remembered.) Why hadn't that been recorded?
"What amount of water can fill a 6 oz. glass?" asked the game show announcer that was really the House.
That caused both Myrnin and Rowlin to pause. They looked at each other.
"Maybe it's a riddle?" questioned Rowlin. It seemed like the best assumption, but Myrnin honestly couldn't be sure. It was too weird.
Hesitantly, he just said, "6 oz.?"
"Is that your final answer?" asked the game show host that they couldn't see ... the one they also couldn't shake a bit for all the stupid questions.
"Yes?" questioned Myrnin, waiting for the other shoe to drop.
But instead the answer was confirmed correct and another question appeared, the announcer announcing it and so forth. Myrnin completely ignored it, even as Rowlin seemed to start reading it.
"I think this whole room is a type of riddle," Myrnin hissed, leaning over the divider between them and trying to get close enough that his stage whisper wouldn't be very obvious. But as it stood, the announcer didn't seem to be paying any sort of attention at all.
Rowlin glanced at Myrnin, then back at the board. There were numbers ticking down on the screen from 10 to 0.
"We could try letting the time run out," he said.
Myrnin shrugged. It was worth a shot.
He stood back in his own booth and looked over the message until the clock read zero.
"Correct!" said the voice happily over the speaker. Then it listed a new question without even seeming to respond to Myrnin and Rowlin's lack of answer.
Myrnin looked down at the tally mark by his booth. Nothing had changed.
"Alright," he said hesitantly. "Any ideas?"
"Maybe it has to do with something else in the room?" questioned Rowlin, a finger waving around.
"Could try whatever that magic stuff is in the speaker system," Myrnin suggested, wiggling his fingers as if he was playing a piano rather than illustrating that there was some magic going on.
"Why don't you?" asked Rowlin, looking up and frowning.
The speaker fell to the floor below a second later with a crash. The voice didn't actually stop talking from the same overhead area.
"I ... didn't do that," said Rowlin, sounding interested now. Myrnin leaned forward, looking at the speakers. "You didn't? Maybe the House took your suggestion. Where's the voice coming from now do you think? That didn't seem to stop it."
That was rather odd. There was something about the lights that were being used to tally their score.
Myrnin leaned even further down, almost falling out of his booth, and tapped his knuckles against it. "That's odd," he said. "This is fake."
He got his fingers around the little board and tugged it off with a sharp snap.
"See. The lights aren't even connected to anything. They're plastic ... practically painted on."
He tapped his tally board against his desk. It practically cracked down the middle.
"Is the whole room a front?" Rowlin asked curiously. He jumped over the back of the booth, heading around it toward the screen.
"Would look like it," said Myrnin, jumping over the back. He felt annoyed. Had it started out as a fake room or had he just been stupid enough not to notice.
He and Rowlin both approached the screen. Rowlin was the first to reach out and try to touch it. But instead his fingers went right through the pixels. "Oh!" he said, expression morphing into something excited.
Myrnin stepped forward, his own hand going through the screen. "Do you smell an exit?" he asked, eyebrows knitted together in concentration. Then he stepped forward, through the door that neither of them had seen.
-----------------
I tried. This was going to be a sort of spoof, but it did not end up that way, as you can see. I wrote this from Myrnin's POV specifically because I knew I cannot get close to the prose of your writing. Then Rowlin had speaking lines and I felt very out of character. But that's fan art/writing for ya!
These two need to bond more.
Thanks for the fun year! Ups and downs all around. I've really enjoyed RPing with you and I've loved chatting about our respective books. I hope that next year is a bit easier on the both of us, but in the mean time I hope you're having fun. <3 Thanks for being around for all the helpful homework tips!

Razz:
(Characters featured: Ougi (I tried) and Sam)
The black water gently lapped against the peer. It was a black mirror which reflected the half moon, casting rivulets of silver light across a fractured wasteland of coast. The water was unusually still, the ins and outs of the waves passing with hardly a disturbance. It seems peaceful.
It IS peaceful.
That's what you tell yourself. You look out across the water, the biting chill of it sitting in your bones. You can acknowledge its beauty, but it is difficult to call it anything else. There's no memories here. There are no warm fires or hot chocolate or freshly read stories to break up the monotony of the night.
It is peaceful. Silent. You feel like you should be enjoying yourself. There are stars. Snow, though you've swept that away from your current seat. It feels magical, a Winter to remember - if you were anyone else, living any other life.
The chill works it's way into the bones. You shiver a bit more, considering returning inside. It would be warmer at least, though you aren't sure if it will be more friendly than the cold expanse of water before you.
Gently, you watch as a thin settling of snow flakes slowly start to drift from the sky, settling onto the lapping water of the lake. Each time, the snowflakes eat up the little flake as if it had never existed. You watch it. Each time one falls, you feel a bit more removed from the world around you. The distant planets above your head can turn and spin and you would still be as expressionless as the ice which will not for across the lake.
"Hey," said a voice behind you.
You blink. The world rests under you. Breath still rumbles in and out of your chest. You are alive.
You glance over your shoulder and up. The boy doesn't look very impressive, awkward in his body. A fish from the lake that wasn't really sure it wanted to evolve into this creature with two legs and lungs to breath.
"Hello," you say. You watch his hair blow around his ears and face. It's as grey as the surroundings. His clothes look dingy as well. Unimpressive ... but he's still standing there.
"What?" you ask after a second.
He shrugs, looking away. Ah yes. You hadn't actually forgotten that you didn't like this boy and he didn't like you. Not that you ever searched for his approval.
"I wanted to know if you wanted to come back into the Lodge," said the boy, shrugging just a little again. He seemed awkward enough that you think maybe he is only asking because he's sympathetic of you.
"Fine," you said, tilting your head and narrowing your eyes in a way that is just a bit odd. You stand up. You're not much taller than the boy. He takes a step back.
"Thanks," he said. As if you have done him a favor. How odd. He glances back at you before his strides turn into a dash, looking back and smiling as he does.
What an odd vampire.

This started as something and ended as something else. It took me a little to realize I was attempting to write from Ougi's POV, but I found myself realizing everything I wanted to play out was doing so with her in mind. Sam is not the best at making friends, but I have a strong feeling he will attempt to do so with Ougi again.
Sorry this year has been hard on you. <3 But I know you can get through it. Just know that whatever happens and if you need a ear to talk into I'm here. My hopes to you in 2020.

Searipple:
I thiiiiiiiiiiiink the camera blew it up too bit. It's meant to be printed out as a bookmark but it didn't really work.
This is art of a certain ghostly spirit is Death Wish. :3
Thank you for being so supportive this year! Your writing his gotten so good and you have only gotten kinder. You are truly a person worth knowing. Thank you. <3
Shade:
The peacock man is fancy and I'm glad I got a very lazy from the back shot. I say lazy (mostly I just thought this would be more dramatic). He is such an interesting character and I can't wait to learn more about him.
It has been a real joy talking with you this year! It has been a very special time indeed. Late night talking aside, I think the pure chaos we've made our PM is proof enough of the fun I have had. Needless to say I had a great time with the reading aloud last night and I really love all the voices you can do. Please keep being you.
Bubbling:
I tried making this a fun drawing. Admittedly I didn't go as wild with the stretching as I could have. Hopefully I can amend that in future fan art.
Meeting you this year has been really, really great. Your writing is amazing and I love RPing with you thus far. I know coming to such a large RP can be difficult, but I hope that the good will outweigh the bad and you can find a place in our little family.
Panther:
I just wanted an excuse to draw the cat version of your wonderful character. XD
We haven't talked as much this year as I might have liked, but I've enjoyed the pictures of the cats and when we have talked. Your art continues to grow so much and I have loved seeing the improvement. <3 I hope we can continue to keep up communication in 2020.
Des:
Vincent, Vincent, Vincent (with a Russian accent). I don't need to say more.
It has been a hilarious year. I am truly looking forward to seeing what the next one brings. Been a bit of up and been a bit of down, so I hope 2020 includes more of an up.
Phantomstar:
+ Halloween Prize:
I really liked trying to design both of these a bit differently. I know I do the fire scene a bit often - it's just so iconic. Also attempted to capture Gentleoak. Hope I did it well enough.
Thank you for continuing to be so supportive in the WFF community. It means a lot to me and I'm sure to others. Hope 2020 treats you well and that New Blood continues to be enjoyed by people on the forums.
Clo:
Okay so maybe I just am very used to painting Loki by this point. Last thing I was going to do was paint the armor, so have a stylish suit.
This year was so fun! I can't wait to spend the next year on this wild ride. I want to spend more of it chatting with you.
Brindle:
I liked trying to come up with what to give you. Hope you like it.
It's been super fun talking to you these past months! You're so fun to talk to and I really hope that we get to talk more in the future!

As usual, your conversation has been so nice! Thanks for being around again this year. <3 Hope you're next year is better and I'll certainly be there to find out.
Katana:
Lighthouses again! It was fun using pencils for it too!

Thanks for still chatting with me so much this year and I hope you have enjoyed this place!

Hope drawing Flandre was a suitable choice considering the manga.

Kayla:
It has been so great talking to you and the others in the SHEILD chatroom! Happy to call you my friend. <3 Hope next year we get to talk more.
Arlo:
I decided to draw Vyra by RNG, heh. But when I did I ran into the issue that at the time there wasn't a new ref. Hope you don't mind that it's slightly outdated. I'm not sure why I did what I did with it, but I got a lot of inspiration by looking up random YouTube videos.
We haven't gotten to talk as much this year, but that's alright. I'm glad to hear from you and RP with you when you're around. <3 Thank you for still being around - it's been a lot of fun! Hopefully next year is a little easier on you!
Petri:
I picked this Triumvirate character for the markings, ya caught me. XD I liked them a lot and wanted to try them out in pen! I hope you like the fan art (anyone reading should totally check out the comic over in Art Forums).
Thanks for talking and supporting me so much this year! It's been a lot of fun talking to you about plots and the like! Hopefully we'll get to do it more in 2020!
Hime:
Honestly had so much fun drawing this! It was really cool trying to see how the small details would work in pastels. Also, as a historical character this person is so fun!
Sorry you were sick so much this year! Thanks for all the fun and keeping up with us over in TTM. I hope you'll have fun with us in the coming year as well!
Tiger Beetle:

I hope your life is dealing you a better hand, my friend. I miss talking to you so much. But I know you are taking life as it comes and you've got this!
Shadowface:
Same to you as I said to Tuesday, my friend! You have been such a good person to this place! It is a boon to us all. But you are so important to us. You take care of yourself. <3
Winter Lily:
Talking to you this year has been so great! Connecting outside of NaNo has just been so fun!
Thought you might like to use the blank lines for something.
Darkshine:
(See me cursing my untimely vacation and internet under Lark. Gift is almost done.)
I know we still haven't gotten that talking thing down, but 2020 is a new year and I still wanted you to know I thought of you.

Lark:
There was a long hallway. It stretches ahead, a long snake into the distance. It was unending and, in theory, had no beginning.
The beginning is where you start the story. Chronologically, however ... this one started at the end.
---
Zange blinked in, coughing into a handkerchief furiously while also trying to squint into the far distance. Hurriedly, she folded up the piece of cloth and places it into the pocket of her red sweater. It also included several specs of red on it, but no one needed to know that (apart from the House. The yokai doubted that there would be much she could hide from it).
The hallway looked just how she had left it. Every other dozen times she had been in it - would be in it.
Zange held up a hand to her eyes, covering. Cool darkness descended just a bit over her. That was a relief, slightly.
"Why are you doing this?" she muttered to no one in particular. Then she hurriedly dropped her hand and composed herself directly before someone blinked in.
The red haired woman smiled and gave a jaunty wave to the rather disgruntled looking wildclaw. Zange shoved down the tired feeling in her gut, paying attention to Chamomile instead.
"Hello again!" she said brightly. "Where were we?" She mused at thin air, eyes seemed to squint up. "Were we on the conversation about your plumage or your mother? I've lost track."
Chamomile hadn't been paying attention, but now she was. "Sorry? Who are you?"
Zange's single eye, the one not covered by an eyepatch, opened to stare at Chamomile. "Oh. We haven't met yet. My apologies."
She raised a hand to her mouth, holding in a cough as she did.
"Name's Zange Natsume! Nice to meet you!" She raised her hand above her head in a little wave. "Yokai of a thousand eyes, at your service."
The throwback stepped forward, tilting her head back as if to take a look at the wildclaw's great height. "You might say I'm a bit out of it, heh heh heh." She have a shrug, her sweater hiking uncomfortably up around her neck. "You do look a bit worse for wear? Unlucky in life? Perhaps a little Beastclan tussle? Hum?" Her tone was bright, despite the fact she was rattling off words she shouldn't know the definition to. "But never you mind that. This way to the living room, yes? I'm sure dear Zangy can hear allllllll about it."

It's been fun my friend! You have grown so much!
Revenge will be sweet.
Thunderfire:

This year was really fun to get to talk to you more! I hope that next year we get to do so more!
Irisluv:
DX I'm so bummed this got crumpled. I tried to do something along the lines of your interest and created a bit on an OC if you wanted to use it!
Thanks for still chatting with me so much this year and I hope you have enjoyed this place!
Tidestripe:
Hope drawing Flandre was a suitable choice considering the manga.
I'm glad we've gotten to talk more this year!
Broken:
Drew Ceil. I like how it turned out.

Okay, but I had a lot of fun with this.
I miss RPing a lot with you, but I have loved the interactions we have had. <3 Thanks for sticking around with these crazy souls.
Falcon:
Must be a room in the House, heh. XD Hope he's recognized as Danny.
And I also hope we get to talk more next year! It's been cool discussing old TV shows.
Sour Candy:
Hope 2020 is good to you!
Broken Glass fan art!

Thanks for all the writing help and the continued friendship!
Tuesday:
-----
-----
It's been fun my friend! You have grown so much!
Revenge will be sweet.
Thunderfire:
You have been in my thoughts and I want you to know I have been following your art and you have grown so much. <3
Snowstorm:
You have been someone I have greatly enjoyed getting to know this year. <3
