Come to think of it, Bramblestar and Squirrelflight don't really have romantic feelings for each other. They spend the majority of the series arguing and ignoring each other. The only time their relationship is depicted as stable is during the Power of Three. Plus their trust and communication skills haven't improved since The New Prophecy.

I think they do, it's just their personalities clash a lot. Think of it as your family relationships, not all family members get along. And when a person marries into a family, they're part of it now, couples argue a sometimes, maybe even a lot, but that's more or less normal. However, abusive things would be like manipulation, and treating your significant other in a morally messed up way, kinda like what FakeBramble is doing right now. I think deep down Bramble and Squirrel do love one another and have been through a lot, but there are some choices that both have made that didn't benefit their relationship at all. Like Bramble secretly meeting his other family in secret, or Squirrel lying about the three, or the two of them functioning as a deputy and leader should then doing the complete opposite the next day. Honestly, in my opinion, I don't think Squirrel should have been deputy, because business and personal life shouldn't mix, and it just made things more complicating. It's like being married to a significant other, and then they become your boss, and there's a public power imbalance that leads to conflict a lot. On the other hand, I think the arguments they have been getting in lately honestly could have been easily avoided with better communication. But from a writing point of view, I feel that it's supposed to be build up for the current arc, and that in the end it's going to show just how far they'd be willing to go for one another despite all the issues in their lives. I don't mind this even though I personally am not big on this pairing and do prefer other ones to it. But I think their relationship is more or less written more realistically than most.

The stability and trust in their relationship, or lack thereof, does not necessarily mean that their love is lacking. I think it wavers sometimes, but I can clearly see the love between them. If they really didn’t love each other then there wouldn’t be anything to fight for. And they are fighting. They’re just both hotheaded and can’t agree on things.

i think they love eachother but in that weird love/hate way. however i also think it's entirely possible for two people to love eachother and still be in a mutually unhealthy relationship, which is def what they are. i really wish the erins would let them either 1. separate for good or 2. stop fighting and learn to trust eachother, instead of continuing to have them constantly fight and communicate badly yet still stay together for some reason

I don't know why but she must love him, most people don't like Bramblestar for good reason. Personalities don't have to get along perfectly like Blossomfall and Thornclaw. At the same time I think that after this arc if Bramblestar comes back hes gonna be pissed at Squirrelflight and that might be the end of the relationship.

SquirrelBramble are kind of like the Ross and Rachel of Warriors. Whenever the writers need something to fill more pages/screen time, they throw a drama bomb into the relationship.

The real Bramberstar and Squirrelflight really do love each other very deeply and not just the romantic type. Their love is the type that will stand the time and trials of every day life. They can argue and get mad with each other but they respect each other. At the end of the day they have each others back. To me they have an unbreakable bond. They understand that each one needs the freedom to be who they are and be accepted for who they are.

I think they really do love each other. It's just the Erins keep using them for annoying drama that could be solved with communication.
