Oakkit... Oakstar the leader who exiled her
Has a relationship with a thunderclan cat? and had kits
I can't help but think that would be massive salt on her wound because much like Mapleshade bluestar brought her kits to riverclan and only one died.. and her mate accepted them/her while Mapleshade had been rejected
Just an idea I had

At first, I misread it, and thought you were surprised she didn't go for Oakstar, and I was too, since he's pretty much the main cause of all of this.
I think the reason why she went after Crookedstar was because he was vulnerable from his accident, and Rainflower's rejection of him, so he was probably easier to manipulate, and she knew that.

Don't know. Maybe because Crookedstar was more vulnerable? I wonder if there are other descendants of Appledusk in the Clan. Shellheart could've had littermates. And Appledusk and Reedshine did have three kits. For some reason, I headcanon Mudfur as a descendant.

Mostly agree about what everyone else said on why she went after Crookedstar but didn't she also say it was because he was going to become a leader? I don't know if she's just BSing about seeing the future because I forgot when she said it but I remember her saying "MY KITS SHOULD HAVE BEEN LEADER AND BLAH BLAH BLAH!!!"

I don't think Mapleshade knew at the time Oakheart would go for a cat in ThunderClan. Crookedstar was more wounded and saw Mapleshade as a motherly figure that he didn't have at the time. If she had known Oakheart's path perhaps she'd have chosen him instead...Although I find it odd she didn't target any of Bluestar's kits or anything of the sort.

Maybe another small factor was that Crookedstar looked more like Appledusk.

mapleshade lists oakheart's relationship with bluefur as one of the ways she hurt crookedstar, so i always felt like she manipulated the situation somehow...how she did so, however, i have no idea. would she show up in oakheart's dreams and just tell him, 'omg remember that cute thunderclan cat? maybe u should text her' or something?
