I dunno. I went onto Tumblr and was just confused as heck. I have an account there but I rarely even use it. its gotten a lot better since the nudity ban but only bc most of the worst people left Imo it's worse, and it's becoming the new MySpace. The ones that mostly left were people who would have been affected by the ban, and their followers. Because the ban not only was going after that content, but even people that that were declared with that content when it really wasn't. Tumblr admitted they had bots scanning posts, and that they would misinterpret sometimes, and many users have filed for appeals but tumblr would never get back to them. Their management of the site has caused quite a few issues with people that use it for their businesses and shops, I'm one of the ones affected by this myself too. On top of that they never really solved the actual issue, spam bots, which was a problem for years, and still is. Many LGBTQA+ content got sniped by the ban bots as well, and nothing for the most part has been done to fix this for the majority. People think the same problem with Tumblr is pretty much the same issue Youtube is dealing with. The site creators trying to make the site more "ad friendly" and usually adult content is something ad companies would avoid. Tumblr, like Youtube, is trying to make a site they can make profit off of, but also axing and killing off content creator platforms by doing so and adhering to big name companies instead. Tumblr used to be worth over 1.1 billion dollars, and sold from the original creators to Yahoo for that much back in 2013. Fast forward years later, now it's only worth 3 million, a significantly lower price, and now in the hands of Word Press. The site is now worth even less because of the ban which drove away so many creators, and made the site even more susceptible to the actual problem even more, spam bots. And to be honest, the community, despite dwindling so much, is quite toxic. Most fandoms on tumblr are pretty toxic, and the whole "cancel culture" thing is just suffocating to deal with. Meanwhile Twitter's worth the last three years is still over 4 billion. Although twitter isn't innocent either, I do think it's doing much better than tumblr, which is now considered a dying website.

Tumblr is where I post art if I want but I haven't done so since the first week I made an account. Twitter just glitched out on me so I gave up lol. I don't do a whole lot of social media stuff tbh.

I think YouTube is going to have a similar problem after that new policy change on what’s appropriate for videos (while conveniently only targeting channels not doing anything and leaving some of the literal predators using their platform alone). but honestly tumblr was always badly moderated. for years the staff were content to just sit back and let havoc wreck without banning the truly horrible people on there. like, a few years ago the city I live in was almost a target for a shooting that a couple of people planned on tumblr, and they were very openly posting about this (among other things that should have gotten them banned) for a while and the tumblr staff did absolutely nothing. I don’t think their tumblr were even deleted until a while after this all happened. in general the staff didn’t start trying to get rid of some of the bad stuff until after they started getting kicked off of app stores for it and we all saw how that went lol and I 100% agree with you about how toxic fandom culture is on tumblr. i had a lot of fandoms completely ruined for me just bc of that website, Voltron being the best example. it had a REALLY bad influence on fan culture outside of tumblr as well, especially after everyone migrated to twitter but this is kind of off topic ig. I never interacted with the tumblr warriors fandom much in general, but I doubt it was any better than most thee fandoms on there lol

The tumblr staff have always been incompetent, that hasn't changed in the least, and it's also one of the reasons for the site heading downhill as well. And I feel you on the Voltron thing. I was there when it all went down real time, and unfortunately on the worst side of things. I was harassed, attacked and accused of several things just because of fictional pairings I genuinely liked. Like dare I say, Sheith, Allurance, Lotura, etc. It didn't help I was a multishpper and just kinda wanted to do my own thing. The Voltron fandom is where most antis grouped up and made the anti-movement which made things worse in the long run. About 3-ish years of them culminating together, and then after the series went to the trash they pretty much migrated to other places and fandoms. Like My Hero Academia, The Dragon Prince, and especially She-ra.
The worst part is that the ending of the series was pretty much a direct response to the horrible behavior and backlash of antis. The creators of the show pretty much caved and tried to appeal to them, which was an utter disappointment because the ending was so drastically bad no one could truly enjoyed it. Regardless of ships, the writing was pretty darn bad.
But personally, I feel much more comfortable on twitter than I did tumblr anymore, despite being on the latter for way more years. Sadly the anti movement caused a pretty nasty rift between artists, and a mob mentality that got a good chunk of people blacklisted from the communities simply for their preference in fiction. I personally was too afraid to show my art sometimes, or even my shop, haha. The cancel culture was pretty vile. But when it comes to the Warriors I've had pretty bad experience as well. I have a dislike for Blossomfall x Ivypool because it wasn't really a pairing that appealed to me much. I initially didn't mind it because there was so much nice fanart of it, and I appreciated looking at it. But then I noticed the shift in change in the Warriors fandom, especially after the Spottedleaf's Heart situation. I actually really enjoy Ivypool and Fernsong as a pairing though, and I personally liked to hc Fernsong as trans, and Ivypool as pan. When I was talking about it, I got some pretty rude replies from BlossomIvy shippers, and even hate mail. People accusing me of being homophobic, and such, and that BlossomIvy is better, etc. It was pretty....ridiculous to read through and deal with imo. So it kinda left a distaste in my mouth for the pairing, and then after re-reading the series, I didn't like it even more.

I like Ravenpaw X Barley the most out of any of the lgbt ships but I got a lot of flack for not liking the others. Mostly because the Warriors community on Tumblr only sticks with a select few pairings and some of them don't even make sense. Darkstripe crushing on Tigerclaw is the headcanon I like next to Ravenpaw X Barley (who I think are even confirmed to be a couple, no? I don't like Mothpool because every ship story I see about it turns Crowfeather into an abuser. Also as a religious person I can safely say that the whole "atheist X believer" trope isn't something that works out very well in a lot of cases (though it does in some). Ivypool was mostly bullied by Blossomfall until they became friends and each took on more suitable mates (well, Thornclaw should be an elder but whatevs). Tallstar X Jake used to be a ship I liked but then I realized that Jake kinda nearly had a mate already (Quince) during Tallstar's Revenge and then after the events of the series they didbecome mates. Then he fathered Firestar. I feel like shipping them would turn Jake into more of a player than he already was, heheh. Of course I get called homophobic for being picky about the very few lgbt headcanons people have, but I really just want to encourage people to branch out ship different characters, rather than sticking to the same headcanons. I feel the same about straight ships in Warriors but I'm not called heterophobic. I tend to just only go on Tumblr to post occasional art...which I haven't done for a while anyway. I don't do couples art of any kind because...well, toxicity gets tiring fast.

❅Maplefrost❅ tbh i have really conflicted feelings on the voltron stuff that i won't get into here, but all I'll say is that I don't think anyone walked away from that (the klance shippers, the anti-klance people, or the voltron staff) in a good light. It was just a total mess in general and it completely ruined a show i used to love. (also it generally really deteriorated in quality after season 4 anyways) ugh i've always hated that mentality people on dumblr have that you're automatically a homophobe if you don't like one (1) gay ship, even if you have really valid reasons to not like it (like it has a questionable power dynamic or the two characters hate each other.) its especially annoying when the people yelling at you for being a homophobe aren't even gay and have really weird/fetishistic attitudes towards gay people, or when they're literally yelling at gay people for being prejudiced towards.....themselves? :s ALSO while i still dont love ivyfern and i would have rathered ivy stay single (or not be straight tbh), i actually liked the pairing more than I thought I would. I think they have a good dynamic and they seem a lot healthier than dovetiger or ivyblossom

I personally dislike IvyBlossom for other reasons, mainly being the lack of friendship at best, but that doesn’t mean I’m a homophobe. I love the TallJake ship! But I feel like some of people (on tumblr) who dislike Ivyfern might just be because they think Ivypool should be lesbian. Which is fine, but I still prefer IvyFern to IvyBlossom, for different reasons though.

I think they have a good dynamic and they seem a lot healthier than dovetiger or ivyblossom Yeah I agree, like I said, the ending was so bad no one could really actually enjoy it. For me, I think I was okay with it up to season 6, but after that, at least for me was utterly downhill. And being a multishipper in that fandom was so dang hard. It gives me a headache just remembering it. It makes me miss the old days when people simply said "Don't like, don't read." or when the term "notp" was still being used. Nowadays fandoms in general are much more toxic, and the mob mentality is utterly gross. It was so baffling to me to be called homophobic just because I didn't like a certain ship. I feel like people seem to forget that shipping isn't activism. I still headcanon Ivypool as pansexual, in my head she's not really straight, but for a long time I've always saw her like that, pansexual and demiromantic. I think her and Fernsong go well together, and you're right, it's much more healthier than Dove x Tiger and Ivy x Blossom, it's like the complete opposite. To this day I'm glad the Erins didn't cave and made IvyBlossom a thing just cause of it's popularity. I like and want representation as much as the next person, but like the "right" representation matters too. And IvyBlossom is too toxic and lacking for my taste.
