Bramblepath shook his head at Spiderblossom's words. "No, I should be the one thanking you," he meowed as they walked. He glanced back at her and flicked his tail at the herbs she was carrying and continued, saying "If you hadn't come with me I couldn't have carried nearly as much, and would have had to go out several times to fully refill my stash."

Rabbitkit's fur bristled a little. Already this was exciting. She had so many questions! But she kept them in the back of her mind so that she could pay attention to Nightheart's story.
Her tail wiggled a little in anticipation when he paused.
"What?" she asked. "What, what? If it wasn't a CrowClan patrol, than what was it?"
She had so many questions about CrowClan as well, but the fact that Nightheart was probably going to say something which would distract her more was what really kept her attention.
"Was it a fox?" she asked, taking a wild guess.

Stygiansnow heard the vine fall before pulling it over with his hind leg. He was thankful that Crimsonfang had made him and his brother practice tying items with his eyes shut. At the time he hadn’t thought it’d be useful. He was glad he was wrong. Once he got the vine bound to Wingheart’s leg he took a small step back. “How does that feel?”

"When you get up there my brother will craft a temporary splint for you." Stygiansnow spoke before looking up, "Whoever found that vine can you find some more?"

“... What am I gonna do with the vine? Bluelotus needs it for when Wingheart got out.” Stygiansnow spoke when he heard the familiar thud.
Bluelotus watched this unfold before getting up and calling down to his brother, “I’ll be right back Stygian.” He ran off into the direction the she-cat had gone before coming back and setting it nearby. He looked to the tree, trying to find a branch they could place in the hole so that they could climb out.

Stygiansnow held his tongue as he waited for the branch to come down.
"When we get the branch down, I'll come get you, brother." Bluelotus called before going over to Summersplash and helping her break down the branch.

“Start climbing, you need your leg tended too.” Stygiansnow spoke. He’d rely on his brother once the other was out.

“Even so, I enjoyed talking with you, Bramblepath. We’re lucky to have you as a medicine cat. I’m not sure if I’ve told you that.” She smiled. “I’m glad to have helped.” She added.

Rabbitkit snorted a bit at Starskit's assumption, finding it amusing that the kit was listening to the tall-tales of an apprentice, but she was too attentive to Nightheart's story at this point to discount the dubious claim. Instead, her ears pricked forward and her tail brushed at the floor.
A fox! So they'd both been sort of right.
"Yeah," she echoed Starskit. "What happened?" It seemed unlikely that the small patrol that Nightheart had described could hold up to such a creature.

Bramblepath nodded as they entered the camp. He angled towards his den as he slowly started to develope a response, and eventually came up with what he felt was a reasonable thing to say. "Well, I'm sure there are cats that, if trained properly, would do ten times better as the medicine cat than I do," he said. Once the two of them entered the medicine cat's den, he flicked his tail at the pile of good catnip and continued. "You can put that over in that stack."

"Well, fortunately, this isn't a story where everyone dies," Nightheart said, looking the two kits in the eyes. He had heard the story that Starskit was talking about before, and it wasn't one that he particularly enjoyed telling. While it is important for the younger cats to understand that they could die on patrol, he didn't want them to have to worry about those kinds of things untel they were at least apprentices who actually went on those patrols. "Honestly though, I think most of us did think that we were going to die. In the moment before the fox got to use however, Sparrowstar shot foward even faster than the fox and leapt for it's back."

Brighteye sat crouched just before the river. The water look frigid. Brighteye shivered and took a step back away from the river. Brighteye had gotten bored sitting around in camp and had gone out to hunt. So far he had not found anything. Brighteye turned and began to follow the river.

Fadespot yawned and pulled himself out of the warriors den. The silver tom streached and shook out his fur before sitting down and glancing around the camp. He had a rather restless sleep last night. His gaze flicked over towards the nursery. He wondered if any of the kits wanted to play.
