Rubblefalls w/ his sisters
A harsh squeak sounded from a vole as strong jaws latched onto it and quickly ended its life. A grey tom-cat lifted the rodent off the ground, scanning the area for any watching eyes before stalking off. By the time he arrived at the abandoned fox den he's been calling home, he had two voles, three mice and a juvenile rabbit in tow. Arriving at the den, he placed the prey at the entrance as blue eyes appeared from inside.
"That's a lot," the soft voice of the molly inside said as she stepped out and began bringing in the catch.
"I was out for a while," the tom stated. "Where's Ashykit?"
"Sleeping. You're not coming in?"
"I'm fine."
With a small shrug, the younger molly ducked back into the den, leaving the tom with one of his voles. He kept watch outside, keeping the prey resting at his paws, untouched for now.
(If anyone can stumble across them or something, that'd be great)

๐๐ช๐ป๐ฝ๐ฑ ๐๐ป๐ช๐ถ๐ซ๐ต๐ฎ mintedstar/fur <Raintalon>Spiderblossom was a bit concerned with the questions Fox had, not because she asked them, but because she felt she had to ask these questions. No cat should have to worry about losing a loved one like that. Illness, injury, or age could claim them sure, that was unfortunately part of life, but if it could be prevented or helped why toss them?

rockydublin ๐๐ช๐ป๐ฝ๐ฑ ๐๐ป๐ช๐ถ๐ซ๐ต๐ฎ <Raintalon> There was a press of fur against Fox's underbelly as Mallowkit's pelt grew to twice its little kit size. "Mom!" he said, almost whining - worried even after Sparrowstar's word. "I'm fine, I promise." His nose was still a bit stuffy, but he ignored that. He didn't want his mother worried about him. His ears flicked back and he crouched just a bit so he could look at Spiderblossom, concern dancing in his eyes as he tried to convey to the clan cat that he wanted Spiderblossom to try and reassure his mother. He couldn't. He drew a tongue over the top of her paw in an attempt, but didn't think it would help.

( ๐๐ช๐ป๐ฝ๐ฑ ๐๐ป๐ช๐ถ๐ซ๐ต๐ฎ- sorry it took me so long, dont know how i missed your response tbh) Duskpaw blinked, attempting to understand what to respond to the she-cat. "Maybe we can train in the forest? Its a shorter walk and we can do some defensive moves- I dont know," she muttered.

mintedstar/fur rockydublin ๐๐ช๐ป๐ฝ๐ฑ ๐๐ป๐ช๐ถ๐ซ๐ต๐ฎ ) "A....medicine cat," repeated Fox, blinking and flicking her ears back as she attempted to process this. "That's..." She'd known clans were softer than groups of rogues generally were, but this was an entirely new concept to her. If you fell ill with something that could be contagious, the best thing you could hope for was to be gently to leave, and then left for the foxes. Fox, herself, had been left by a group once, because of an illness that had caused her to be unable to hide her sneezing. "...An odd tradition," she finished at last, flicking her tail. "But I am grateful for it, to be certain." Then, she paused, looking down as a small shape pressed against her belly, attempting to comfort her. Instantly, her attention was off the Clan leader and focused entirely on her kit, and she bent down, giving him a reassuring lick on the forehead. "I know you are, love, don't worry," she said with a purr, running her tail over his pelt to smooth it. "I just have to take precautious, in case one of us gets sick. It doesn't mean I think you're sick," she added, although that wasn't true. Mallowkit had been born sick, and his signs of illness seemed to come and go. She doubted he'd ever be free of it. But right now, he seemed fine, so it wasn't a complete lie. "Does that make sense?"

( underthesilverpelt) Mara padded slowly through the trees outside of the Sparrowclan border. She had eaten recently, and wasn't concerned about how much noise she was making. She was confident that she could either out fight, or out run anything the area could throw at her. As she went, her nose picked up a slight whiff of a cat nearby. Immediatly, she stiffend and slowed her pace, quieting her steps as she went. She didn't act hostile, not yet at least, but she didn't plan on being caught unprepared for a fight. ( cowbird) Mistyfur nodded, settling on a place in the forest that she thought would be perfect for practice. "I know a good clearing not far from the camp that I think would work," she said, almost to herself. "Lets go see if there's anything that I can teach you." As she spoke, she started padding towards the camp entrance. She kept her pace slow enough for the apprentice to easily keep up with her, they weren't in any sort of hurry after all. ( <Raintalon>, mintedstar/fur, rockydublin) Sparrowstar nodded. "That's not the first time that someone has found it odd. Several have thought that it makes the clan weaker. I would argue that it makes us stronger. From a technical view alone, having the medicine cat means that we are able to support a much larger group than any of the rogue groups, as our sick cats recover instead of dying. From another point of view, the medicine cat helps unify the clan, and a unified group will always be stronger than a group that is only together for convinience."

๐๐ช๐ป๐ฝ๐ฑ ๐๐ป๐ช๐ถ๐ซ๐ต๐ฎDuskpaw padded quickly after the warrior, eager to learn. As they padded through the trees, she looked around, the fact of finally training with someone making her look at almost everything in a new light. The scent of prey was faint on the trees and under the bushes and while she was sure Mistyfur wouldnt mind her scooping up a mice or two, she didnt want to stall her training in case there was no prey in the area. That would be embarrasing.

Rubblefalls w/ Mara
By the time he'd heard movement, the vole was only partially eaten. The movement sent him to his paws immediately, eyes narrowing as he gazed about, ears twitching and swiveling to listen for anything else. His mind was immediately running to the worst possibilities. Fox, badger, bear-
His nose finally caught the scent. A cat. A stranger. Maybe that wasn't as bad. He still shifted so he stood in front of the den entrance, ears pinned back as he scanned the area for any sign of this cat.
"Rubble...?"
"Sh." He hissed sharply, startling Boulderflake inside.

( cowbird) Mistyfur noticed the expression on the apprentice's face as Duskpaw looked around. She smiled a bit to herself, and stopped for a moment. "I feel like hunting a bit before we practice. Would you mind if we did that?" she asked, flicking her tail at the surrounding area. She inhaled deeply, catching the scent of a rabbit nearby. While she had already spent plenty of time hunting, she didn't mind a little more. ( underthesilverpelt) Mara stalked through the shrubs nearby, noticing Rubblefall just outside what looked to be a den. Judging by his movements, there were more cats inside the den, possibly one or more cats unable to defend themselves. She didn't feel like he would claw her pelt off for no reason, but she definetly didn't want to end up in a fight against several cats. She paused just out of sight of Rubblefall, weighing her options.

๐๐ช๐ป๐ฝ๐ฑ ๐๐ป๐ช๐ถ๐ซ๐ต๐ฎ mintedstar/fur <Raintalon>Spiderblossom smiled. She was thankful for a leader like Sparrowstar there were times where she could explain things and help others understand without being rude about it. Thatโs why sheโs a leader though, and sheโs always considered herself lucky. She looked over to the former rogue. โI believe my usefulness has come to an end here. Is there anything you need me to do, Sparrowstar?โ Spiderblossom spoke with a nod.

๐๐ช๐ป๐ฝ๐ฑ ๐๐ป๐ช๐ถ๐ซ๐ต๐ฎ <Raintalon> rockydublinMallowkit was peaking out from around his mother's larger paws now. He was taking the licks without much notice, though part of him was pleased that Fox didn't seem to be worrying that much. He was listening to Sparrowstar though. He tilted his head a bit to look up at her and then he tilted his head a bit more so he was nearly tilted sideways so he was able to look up at Fox. "Can I become a medicine cat?" he asked, interested. He rolled over onto his back, using his paws to swipe up at Fox's chest. He almost sneezed, but held it in. It had his muzzle all scrunched up funny, but it finally passed. Then he rolled over again and looked at Spiderblossom. "Bye!" he mewed.

๐๐ช๐ป๐ฝ๐ฑ ๐๐ป๐ช๐ถ๐ซ๐ต๐ฎDuskpaw's eyes brightened at the prospect of hunting- the scent of rodents and birds and even a stray rabbit wafted to her as she made her way out of the camp boundaries and Mistyfur giving her a chance to hunt caould very well alleviate some stress she had in her muscles before training. Also, she could get tips on the warrior on hunting as well.

( rockydublin , mintedstar/fur , <Raintalon> ) Sparrowstar shook her head. "Thank you for asking, Spiderblossom, but I don't have anything in particular right now," Sparrowstar said. She paused for a moment, then flicked her tail towards the medicine cat's den. "On the topic of the medicine cat, you could check and see if Bramblepath needs any help. I'm sure he has something for you to do." With that, she turned her attention back to Fox and Mallowkit. She smiled at Mallowkit and said, "Yes, you can be a medicine cat if you want. I daresay that you'll be kept more busy than the warriors, but it is a perfectly valid option." ( cowbird) Mistyfur watched as Duskpaw's face gleamed with excitement at the prospect of hunting. "Hunting is my specialty after all... Well, more like fishing is my specialty, but I'm still better at hunting than fighting," she purred flicking her tail around. "We have plenty of time, why don't you pick the area we hunt at? I have spent too much time in one area recently."

( rockydublin if you want, I'm fine with it. ) Bramblepath gently moved his stash of catnip from the rest of his herbs and started sorting out the leaves that had gone bad from those that were still good. He grimaced as he found that more and more leaves were going into the bad pile. When they were finally all sorted, there was a significantly larger amount in the "gone bad" pile than there was in the pile that was still good. He sighed and stood, taking the bad leaves with him to discard as he went out to restock. ( cowbird) Although Mistyfur had just gotten back from a fishing trip, her eyes lit up at the prospect of catching more. She restrained herself however, saying "We shouldn't catch to much though. The fresh kill pile was looking pretty full earlier. A few more won't hurt, but only a few." Despite her words, her tail flicked eagerly at the thought of doing her favorite activity.

๐๐ช๐ป๐ฝ๐ฑ ๐๐ป๐ช๐ถ๐ซ๐ต๐ฎ Yes! Duskpaw trotted down to the nearest river and settled by a clump of ferns a bit further upstream to Mistyfur and in her excitement, nearly stood in the water, her shadow covered the small stream.

( ๐๐ช๐ป๐ฝ๐ฑ ๐๐ป๐ช๐ถ๐ซ๐ต๐ฎ) Spiderblossom walked in. โHey, Bramblepath, howโs it going?โ She looked over at the pile of bad herbs. It was a lot no doubt, she just hopes cats didnโt need any of the herbs that had gone bad. (Awesome) Mothpelt (open) Mothpelt felt cooped up in the den, deciding to take a walk. Her thoughts traveled to Bramblepath again, much to her annoyance. Why did she have to feel this way? Maybe some food would take her mind off of things?

Rubblefalls w/ Mara
Rubblefalls was starting to get more on edge as the silence spread on. He could smell that the strange cat was still nearby, and the fact that he still couldn't see them was... More than irritating. He growled lowly, eyes narrowing some more as he took another step and placed himself further in front of the den his sisters rested inside.
"Who's there?" He rumbled, his fur rising a little as he remained alert.

( cowbird) Mistyfur laughed a little as she watched Duskpaw. "The first rule of fishing: never let your shadow fall over the water. It alerts the fish that you are there and they then avoid the area near you. Try to position yourself so that your shadow doesn't touch the water, but you can still reach it, like this," she said, demonstrating the proper fishing position. ( rockydublin) "Would be going great, if most of the catnip was still actually good. Instead, I have an ever growning pile that has gone bad, and a few other stocks on the verge of going bad themselves," Bramblepath grumbled at Spiderblossom. He managed to stop himself from rambling on in his frustration and turned to the deputy. "I'm sorry about that, did you need anything?" he said, desperatly hoping there wasn't an issue that required the herbs he was low on. ( underthesilverpelt) Mara sighed as the cat guarding the den made it known that he knew of her presence. She supposed that she could still walk away, but she had never been one to walk away when another cat challenged her. She stood and stalked out of the bushes, keeping a safe distance from the cat and a wary eye on her surroundings in case any others were nearby. "Just a passing loner," she said, her voice neutral.

๐๐ช๐ป๐ฝ๐ฑ ๐๐ป๐ช๐ถ๐ซ๐ต๐ฎโI was actually coming to see if you needed help with anything.โ Spiderblossom replied. โWhat can I do to help?โ She added after. She thanked StarClan every day that Bramblepath was their medicine cat, heโs helped so many cats and while yes it was his job, it didnโt take away from the fact that she could never fully repay him. The least she could do was help him find herbs.

Rubblefalls w/ Mara
Rubblefalls bristled as a form emerged from the shrubbery. He swallowed down a growl, seeing that the cat - a she-cat, he notes now that he can see them better - seemed more defensive than aggressive. He turned to face her better, eyes narrowed.
"Passing loner..." He grumbled. "Well, pass then. No point standing around here like you were. I don't have anything to spare, so don't bother asking."

( mintedstar/fur, I have a few characters open if you want ) ( rockydublin) A wave of relief rolled over Bramblepath as he heard that there was no serious issues that needed attended to immediatly. While some cats criticized him for always assuming the worst, this had saved himself, and other cats on multiple occasions. He gathered his thoughts however, and his gaze strayed to the growing pile of herbs that had gone bad. "As you can see, all of these have already gone bad. Unfortunately, well over half of my usual stock of catnip is in that pile. If I could have your help carrying some herbs to restock these, that would be great." ( cowbird) Mistyfur nodded appreciatively, looking Duskpaw's posture up and down. "Much better. You learn quickly," she commented. As she turned her gaze to the water in front of herself, the telltale flash of silver from the water in front of her caused her to instinctively lash out her paw. A fish came flying out of the water and landed on the shore next to her. She killed it with a quick bite, then remembered that she was supposed to teaching an apprentice. She flushed a little under her fur and turned back to Duskpaw. "Sorry that I didn't explain that part, I've gone fishing so many times that it's become instinct really." ( underthesilverpelt) "Oh yes, I totally would have starved to death if I didn't leech off of groups such as yours," Mara said, her tone literally oozing sarcasm. "Oh wait, I'm probably a better hunter than you and everyone in that den behind you," she said, flicking her tail. She mentally smacked herself on the head for letting her sarcasm get out of control. Not only did she doubt that she was actually a better hunter than this cat, she also hadn't come here to pick a fight.

๐๐ช๐ป๐ฝ๐ฑ ๐๐ป๐ช๐ถ๐ซ๐ต๐ฎDuskpaw brushed off the warrior's embarrassment. "It's fine- i'm sure i know how to do the swoop" she replied and focused her eyes back to the water. She was still for a second, gazing intently at the water. She was so concentrated she missed a fish and hissed lowly as it slid by. Immediately, however, another one forged after it and without thinking Duskpaw launched a paw in to snatch it. The fish thrashed in the water, freaking Duskpaw out and in shock, she almost let it go. Then, she threw in her other paw and sank her claws in the cold body and tugged it out onto the bank with a huff.

Rubblefalls w/ Mara
Rubblefalls pulled his lips back into a snarl, claws digging into the earth underneath. An angry growl rose from his throat as he glowered.
"Don't," A paw darted out from the den and pressed against Rubble's leg. The tom's eyes darted to the paw for a moment before returning to the loner. "Don't fight, no-"
"Go back inside..." He lifted his leg away from the paw before setting it back down. He lowered his voice, trying to keep the volume between him and his sister. "Boulderflake, stop..."
"You'll scare Ashykit," The molly hidden inside the den hissed. "And you'll get hurt. Just ignore her."
