Dislike/neutral on graystripe? I just think he’s only still alive because the Erins love him, and the scene where he attacks Fireheart will never sit well with me.

i dislike greystripe mostly bc of the greysilver stuff in the first series. he kind of faded into the background after that though so he really doesn't have enough prominence in the books for me to have a strong opinion on him either way. idk why people love him so much
edit: also honestly he wasn't really that funny in the first book either? he seemed cool when he first showed up but a lot of his "jokes" were just him inappropriately pointing something out and getting reprimanded for it

Honestly, now that I think about it, I'm not sure how I feel about him.
When I think about him, without thinking about all the things he did, I like him, but that's probably because he had a really good first impression.
However, when I think about how he treated Firestar and Brackenfur in Fire and Ice... I don't like him much.
He is a brave and strong warrior though, he caught Darkstripe poisoning Sorrelkit, and tried to stop him (but it was too late), he then killed Darkstripe for trying to kill Firestar.
After the first series though, he just falls flat, I mean, he does say some hilarious stuff to Onestar, but that's about it. It's understandable, I guess, since he's Firestar's bff, and Firestar is no longer the main character.
I think his biggest achievement is producing a whole bunch of plot devices...though, Silverstream and Millie helped.
Now, he's just there, I would be sad if he died, since he's been around since the beginning, but I wouldn't be too upset, I just hope he gets a notable death.

I don't think he's still alive due to bias? The Erins have no problem killing the original apprentices, he just happens to be the only one left alive. I don't mind him in the first series I actually didn't like Firestar more tbh. The only real qualms I've had with his character was his unnecessary relationship with Millie, and him being deputy, but I'd forgive the latter if Brackenfur were chosen.
I feel like the scene where he gets into an argument with Firestar, isn't that bad, and honestly made me more annoyed at Fireheart. I guess some people were surprised by Graystripe not being the "comedic relief" for a part of the arc anymore and when he actually gets development people don't care for it. As for the reason of the fight, Graystripe attacked Fireheart because Fireheart didn't trust Graystripe, and didn't believe he'd make the right decision. Which imo, is a bit ridiculous if they're supposed to be best friends. I feel that neither was in the right there, but Fire personally felt annoying to me more.

I haven’t read TPB for a while now, so I could be wrong, but to me it seems unnecessary to attack his best friend who is trying to persuade Graystripe that he’s getting himself into a lot of cr*p. Literally nothing is good about half clan relationships. Firestar tells that if the clans fight he might have to fight Silverstream, but Greystripe doesn’t listen. So Fireheart offers to go on patrol instead of him so Greystripe won’t have to fight Silverstreams clanmates, and when he returns Greystripe starts a fight. I can see how Fireheart was annoying though, he should’ve trusted Greystripe more.

My feelings are neutral towards him, and I think my favorite Graystripe moments are when he’s figuring himself out after Silverstream’ s death and living between the two Clans.

At first, I was neutral with Graystripe. I read TNP first, so he was tolerable. In TPB, he was annoying and the events there made me dislike him a bit.

I started off liking Graystripe in Into the Wild, and as a child I felt like-neutral except for maybe in Fire and Ice I disliked his behavior.
As an adult now, though, I absolutely hate his behavior in Fire and Ice to the point where it transferred over to hatred for him as a character. Now I feel dislike-neutral towards him in pretty much every other book. Besides not liking many of his behaviors in TPB, and not liking Silver/Gray, I wished we saw him interact more with Millie and their kits. I mainly blame the Erins, but it almost came off as him not caring as much about Blossomfall, Bumblestripe and Briarlight as he did Feathertail and Stormfur.
Another thing that annoyed me that may be more on Silverstream, but didn't she say they'd see each other again in the Last Hope in front of Millie, and Graystripe didn't try to reassure Millie he loved them both? It's been a long time since I've read TLH, I could be misremembering or misinterpreting that scene.

Honestly, Gray x Millie really shouldn't have been a thing. It was tolerable in the manga, but honestly Gray went about Silver so much it really didn't make sense for him to get with Millie. They should have just stayed good friends, and Millie either should have chosen a different mate or stayed a kittypet.
That aside, the events of the Last Hope, Graystripe calls out to Silverstream and begs her not to go, while Silverstream says she'll wait for him and calls him love, etc. This wasn't in front of Millie as far as we know. We know Millie was in the battle, but there's no specific instance that this happened in front of her. Imo, Graystripe obviously still loves Silverstream, and it still baffles me that the Erins made him and Millie a thing, the 3B's are just all around not very likable or notable characters to me, and Millie herself just became horrible after the family drama.

I'm neutral on him, but I think they only kept him alive this long because they had 'plans' to give him an SE. They most likely want him to die an honorable death (at least).
