Honestly, I was writing a story during last Camp NaNo and I had only gotten to Chapter 4 by the end of it ... but had 20k words (which was my goal). I honestly so relate to the nowhere near finished feeling.
Oooooooooookay! Today is catch up day!
Word sprint at :40 for 5 minutes!

I am having a incredible amount of fun. There are pirates in this book. And remarkable amount of idiots. Sometimes, those two circles overlap.

Amazing. XD
I have a bunch of idiot vampires. There is no overlap. They're just all idiots.

Fantastic XD Writing idiots is fun.
Although today also came with the realisation that I am going to need to create a second language - I just really want these two characters to trash-talk all the other characters in their native language - and I have no idea how to do that. I can’t even speak multiple languages. I don’t know how ho create an entire one from scratch.

I've written parts of a language. It's maybe worth doing if you really want to develop a culture, because going through the process of building vocabulary from the ground up forces you to build up that culture's ontology. For me, it was insanely tedious and I only did it (well, started it; only has about 1100 words) because I used the same cultures and land for most of my stuff.
That said, it's not hard, per say. There are a few decisions you ought to make right away (e.g., is the language going to require strict word order, use inflection, or some combination?) and, you'll want to define your alphabet (custom alphabets are overrated, because you'll have to transliterate whatever you write anyway if you want the reader to recognize the symbols for distinct sounds) and grammar rules. Vocab, you can build as you go. Takes longer to do, but I think it's more productive to not have words translate perfectly from English to your new language, because you miss out on the ontology-building exercise.
I wonder if I should start refreshing before posting.

Mint; ahh, I'm enjoying it very much! I'm working on a project that means a lot to me, so having a goal this month is really helping me to write more than I have the time for XD I'm very happy indeed! (:
How about your project?

Maple: You can do it! Any writing is still writing! I'm glad the craziness is over though. Kayla: I'm so glad to hear that! It's so awesome watching a project form around you. And I just finished my outline - finalizing it really - last night. So now I know I'll have about 32 chapters by the end of this story and I think I might have about 10 left to write? I'm not sure, all I know is I'm going to hunker down with it. I think I'm really enjoying the character development in it. I'm going to enjoy the foreshadowing I'm going to be putting in.

It's good that you've got it all planned out like that! Sometimes I wish I was more organized XD It would probably make it easier if I did that, but I'm more of a 'write and see what happens' XD Oh, yes! I agree with that. I love making characters and fleshing them out and getting so excited over them, haha. Especially when something just clicks and it's like 'yessssssss!' && I do love me some good foreshadowing.

10k away from 50k, but 23 chapters away from the ending. XD Watch me binge write during the holidays to get this story done.
BUT! I! GOT! through the first climax! The one where the characters realize they aren't a group, but just this disorganized set of people who happened to be in the same area as each other. But also that they have potential. I also set up foreshadowing for the distinct difference of morels. Will's a 'don't hurt or kill anyone for any reason' and all her group has very different takes on that. It's really interesting seeing this small test make them realize that they're not a group at all. And since I skipped around a bit, I've almost gotten to the other test as well, when they've started figuring out that they're still not a group and I get to break them all with that fact because they thought they were.
Honestly, the POVs I choice for this story are working surprisingly well. They're even foreshadowing for the next set of POVs. It's really interesting how when I sit down and start writing my brain already knows how it wants to set up a plot and everything just starts falling in place.
