The leader's initial reaction was to retort, but he withheld the sound and simply nodded his head, melding his expression into one he hoped fairly conveyed gratitude regarding her encouraging words. Part of him wondered how in the name of StarClan she could make such proclamations when he'd spent merely a day with nine lives to his name, and that day had felt terrifying too him. But his disparaging thoughts remained just that for the time being. He knew she was right, there was a hunt to be done and he didn't need to be rendered distracted by the reality that lingered back home. A smirk softened his concentrating features at her challenge, he studied her with what was intended to be a firm look, a predator sizing up a threat, but the glint of amusement in his grey gaze gave away any menace as merely play. "Hope you're a good sport who knows how to take a loss like a warrior," The purr rumbled like thunder from deep in his chest. Scorchstar had spent little time during his warriorhood with Winterfire, but now he found himself regretting that. Thus far his leadership had been burdened by cats stepping on eggshells in his very presence, but the pretty shecat seemed to want to do anything but. It left him with a much needed feeling of normality, and he appreciated it greatly. "Lets go," he gestured with his plumed tail for her to begin, before dissappearing into the long grass without another word.

Buzzardglide ❝ ━It's showtime! ♚
The scent of fear surged sharp and welcoming into his nostrils, and he relished the thrill it sent through his body and savored the honeyed tang it set on his tongue. He hadn’t felt so alive in ages. Sure, the Dark Forest had plenty of cats to scare, but nothing could exceed a frightened heartbeat pounding warm blood beneath rough padding or erratic breaths of panic that filled the ears in a melody of song.
Soon, however, her pitiful attempts of escape brought him rushing back from pensive thought to attentive awareness. He rearranged his hold, pushing rougher still against the soft bone making up her cheek and scoffed, “I’ve eaten warriors bigger than you, do you really think-”
Something pushed up unexpectedly against his stomach, and he realized with a start it was her, no doubt in an attempt to throw him off. However, whereas a similar technique would’ve worked on a regular cat, Buzzardglide was an undead entity, cursed forever to bear the blow that killed him. The hind-leg as a result passed through his disemboweled stomach, before bouncing harmlessly off the decayed muscle cushioning his spine. And though he remained unfazed, something in his demeanor changed. His gaze darkened, almost as though his eyes had sunken cleanly into his masked face, until only beads of sapphire stared down unblinkingly like chips of dark water.
“You’re going no where.” What faked warmth in his words drained away into something icy and quiet. His pressure increased, claws sliding out slow and steady to hover menacingly over her eyes. And he would’ve killed her right there and then. Something slow and agonizing. Something messy and cruel. But as fast as his kill drive had set in, it readjusted itself once again to the back of his mind, to remain patiently awaiting its next opportunity.
He stepped off the apprentice with a exuberant laugh.
“You gotta admit, I got you good.” The affable gruffness had returned and, with it, a brighter, more pleasant countenance.
“But you can relax now kid, I’m not gonna hurt ya.”
Something had indeed stopped him. And, settled comfortably a little distance away, he observed her, carefully, intricately, heeding every detail with pristine regard. It couldn’t be, could it? Softie would’ve surely told him. But, noticing the splashes of dark browns across her face and tail and those sapphire eyes… it was almost undeniable. The tom returned to his paws and circled her, taking in every angle in an attempt to figure out the puzzle raging in his mind. It was almost laughable how he’d gone down from murderous beast to childish curiosity in a matter of seconds. Now his bigness seemed only endearing and his gaze soft, intimidation purposely shrugged off for investigation purposes.
“Ahem, you gotta number on you kiddo? Because ‘buzz off’ isn’t exactly an everyday defense tactic. Who’d you learn it from?”

.SUNFLOWERPAW. .APPRENTICE.
To the opponent's rather intimidating threat, Sunflowerpaw made note of it. That was something that definitely put her frightened shock into an intensified stage. Did he really mean what he said? If so, why would he do such a thing? This wasn't entirely the time to think, Sunflowerpaw knew that, but she had never had thought of someone to be so cruel. It frightened her— yet thrilled her to some degree. However, this tom and her being the feline under his paw...? She mentally shivered at the thought. That was something that did not excite her. Instead, her physical reaction was growing nervous under his paws, and the fact that this male was clearly never up to any good made her heart sink into the empty pit, just feeding what was a black hole that remained hidden deep within her guts. The purebred before her eyes had definitely already given her a bad vibe, and with the coldness of his already stone sapphire blue eyes intensified, it made more sense that defending herself wasn't necessarily the best idea. His eyes seemed to stare into her soul, and he wasn't the happiest looking cat.
Sunflowerpaw gulped, hearing her own heartbeat thudding within her ears wasn't anything she'd imagine to hear often, but she supposed when you're nervous or in danger things like that just happen. She wasn't this uneasy before, and it wasn't fearing death itself that caused it, but how the way she would die. Was today was the day to begin with? It didn't make sense to the molly. Surely whatever was going to happen wouldn't be too horrible right? After all, Sunflowerpaw had hoped to die peacefully, and if not, die bleeding out, but never to die in a manner that was slow and excruciating to her. Not in a manner that was allowing her opponent to enjoy her pain! Oh how she feared for the cause of her death would be something violent and horrible. Sunflowerpaw could never imagine how dumb it would sound to be murdered by some cat in an area she wandered off to. It made no sense, after all! She was highly capable of defending and protecting herself. This male was just a little tougher than usually, and seeing that his stomach had such a gruesome and serious injury to it— Sunflowerpaw believed she was in the Dark forest. I mean, it only made sense after all. This male was clearly dead— an injury like that would leave him immobilized and his blood would be everywhere by now. However, it was his crime that seemed to interest her the most. Definitely with an injury that was fatal and a serious crime, she had met someone who's in the Dark Forest. All this thinking had clearly pushed her investigative personality forward and her innocence behind.
Sunflowerpaw's fur rose when she said she wasn't going to leave, but having seen his whole demeanor change and him release her, the femme didn't know how to feel. One second ago he had just been angry, and the murderous glint in his eyes hadn't been hidden too well. In fact, it was extremely evident that he wasn't going to have good intentions. But now?—Now his voice had softened and he had begun to ask questions. Definitely this male seemed... in a way deranged, but Sunflowerpaw didn't seem to worry about it. It was more or less her confusion that seemed to numb her to the shock. She had sat up, already grooming her fur down to make herself look decent again.
"Why does it matter to you?" Her voice hissed, thickly coated in venom. She didn't want to relax to this newcomer, and seeing that he had just been ready to kill her moments go, Sunflowerpaw wasn't going to open herself up to someone new. Or so she tried to tell herself so. However, her juvenile self had given in and let her head drop to look at the floor in shame, thinking about her one and only dam and their encounter from earlier. However, this didn't prevent her from keeping herself a harsh and sarcastic tone. "My mother did though. If it so happens to matter to you so much." Sunflowerpaw paused, and looked around in the unknown territory. Reality began to sink back into her head and fear began to overwhelm her once more. Her emotions were beginning to take a toll on her. Winterfire roleplaying with Scorchstar 🇳ᴇcʀᴏᴅ🇦🇳cᴇʀ location: hunting patrol - - - - - - - - - - - - - Winterfire let out a laugh, rolling her eyes playfully. She wouldn't lose because that's not what she did; she never lost in challenges like this, or at least she tried not to. It was silly of Scorchstar to think he would win against her, but at least he was worthy of a challenge. They were a few moons apart, but they didn't spend much time together when they were apprentices or warriors -- they were in different groups. Winterfire was often seem with Hiddenflame or Sunhawk or even Stormchime, who was one of her closest she-cat friends. Scorchstar was seen with the former leader and other warriors like that.
She heard the words "let's go" and she gave a soft playful growl and bounded off into the meadow, away from Scorchstar.
She stalked through the brush,. her fur being pulled in every angle but she continued with soft steps, not a sound could be heard. Her position was downwind from any potential catches, her body was lowered to the ground to hide the normally very obvious white fur that gave Winterfire her name.
Just ahead of her, she could smell the familiar scent of a rabbit. which made sense because the Hollow Meadow had a warren of rabbits inhabiting it. She slowly stalked forward, seeing if she would put an eye on the prey.

As his younger compatriot dissappeared, the muscled tom slunk through the long grass in a studied silence, though the pretty shecat might have had the advantage in terms of speed, but Scorchstar was careful and meticulous. Moons of experience adding confidence to the pad of his paws, his ears twitched with the whistle of wind that battered them, making the tracking down of a single creature by sight alone a difficult task, but the ginger leader was more than used to such conditions. He didn't let it deter him as he searched, oblivious to the world outside that moment right there. The Meadow was usually rife with wildlife, thus it didn't take too long for him to come across a potential target. A dusty brown robin, pecking in frustration at the hard ground underfoot, the worm apparently less elusive that morning. The leader slowed his pace, dropping his front as he posed into the hunters crouch, by now a reflex move after moons of hunting for his clan. He waited in silence, senses alert and careful. Calm and patient, only when did he feel the moment was opportune did he move. The thought of competition at the back of his mind, for now more concentrating on the potential of feeding his clan, if he won that would simply be a fortunate reward and a chance to show off. Gathering his muscles beneath him, he lunged with a start. Paws colliding with the unaware bird before it was even aware the threat had been looming ever closer. It elicited a soft squeak as the leader delivered the killing blow, but otherwise little went awry with his hunting efforts. Spinning on his heels, a proud smile ablaze on the flames of his facial features, he made his way back out of the long grass. Chest puffed out as he waited for the return of Winterfire.

.ROWANWILLOW. .WARRIOR.
Rowanwillow had just arrived in camp when the shrills from the kitting queen seemed to fill the camp momentarily. Rowanwillow's ears pinned back and against his handsome cranium in response to so. Never really did he enjoy the cries from anything, whether it be comrade, prey, or enemy. But as soon as the noises came, they vanished just as fast, and silence filled the air. To the lack of sound, Rowanwillow had lifted his ears to listen, and had realized the silence that was given after the new mother's cries were now replaced with quiet mewling. The hunter felt his heart flutter at the sound of the newborns. His soft-spot, it seems, is the young ones of the clan, especially newborns. Rowanwillow had always felt overprotective towards anything that was younger than a warrior, but it was evident it was anything that was a kit and younger that Rowanwillow had felt his heart strings tug the most.
The hunter didn't understand how the physicians of their clan could do it. Because of so, he greatly admired both Driftfall and Palepaw. It was magnificent how they did their job so well, and he wouldn't know how the clan would survive without them. The work of the medicine cats are definitely, in a sense, magical. They were always working their amazing knowledge into ways to heal and save people. Either way, Rowanwillow just admired the two greatly.
Palepaw... The male thought as she began to make her way towards the Medicine Cat den. His face heated up in embarrassment when he caught himself staring, and realized that she was going to disappear into the den. With the thought, the male used his slender legs to build up speed towards the beautiful medic. "Palepaw!" The nimrod called out to the molly, hoping she'd turn around. As he began to get closer, Rowanwillow found his heartbeat beginning to grow loud and interfere with his hearing. Today was the day Rowanwillow will confess his feelings to Palepaw. He didn't exactly know how she felt, but he knew that whatever happened that him and Palepaw would still remain friends. At least he hoped. Rowanwillow was so nervous that he didn't really apply much of Palepaw's personality into her reaction. In fact, he just was thinking of so many scenarios that could be a possibility of how his confession goes. It varied from her running away to her being just as excited as he was. Either way, today was the day and Rowanwillow was not going to back out. No matter how forbidden it was, Rowanwillow wanted her to know. { . Palepaw - appzy . } { . Camp . }

- - - - - - Shooting Hiddenflame a quick glance, the corners of her maw turned up into a playful smirk. Her gaze glinting in the dim of the dawn light, "I am just speaking the truth," Stormchime retorted with a small chuckle. She figured the next couple of days would be interesting... maybe Dovepool would stop acting so docile and confront Scorchstar about Wolfstar's decisions. She tagged along behind the large tom, giving the younger Magpieflight a glance figuring the tom would be on their heels in a short moment.
Helping Hiddenflame check and apply new scent the markets, Stormchime fell into a comfortable silence. Her thoughts milling from topics about camp to what should she eat or if Winterfire would help her with grooming later. Thoughts fluttered out as soon as they fluttered in; however, the outer appearance of feline was calmer. She moved with the grace and the confident of a warrior that knew the area where. She traveled along the border with nimble paws as she brushed her fur along the scent markets.
Drawing to the end of the section within Warren Ridge, Stormchime drew to a stop. Her blue gaze flickering towards the brightening sky, marveling at the beautiful colors and the sun that rising higher. "So beautiful," she uttered to herself before shifting on her paws, enjoying the soft grass on her paw pads. If she wasn't with Hiddenflame and Magpieflight, it would be likely that she would happily be rolling around in the scent of fresh grass and warm sunlight.
"Alright," the mottled feline declared in a clear tone, drawing the tom's attention back to her. Her blue eyes glistening with wry amusement as she looked back at her companions, "Are you guys ready to head back to camp?" Stormchimed meowed with a small smile. She liked being out of camp for the time being but it was likely that Moonspots might want them on other patrols today.
[ here was yours last post within the spoilers ^^; ]
Hiddenflame roleplaying with stormchime & magpieflight _@blazeheart &;🇳ᴇcʀᴏᴅ🇦🇳cᴇʀ location: dawn patrol - - - - - - - - - - - - - The large tomcat let out a huff, the direct result of Stormchime's comment. "Oh, don't be so uptight," Hiddenflame playfully grumbled, as he dropped the rabbit between his paws. His glowing eyes looked around the area they were stopped in. They could secure the scent borders, as well as bring prey back to the clan. It was making the best of the situation, since the clan was in such disarray.
He picked up his plump rabbit before walking past the two warriors, making his way towards the border to remark the scent markers. As much as he didn't want to return to camp, probably just as much as the other warriors on the patrol did, they would need to go back soon -- so other cats would be able to do what they needed to do, whether that was an actual hunting patrol, or apprentice training. It would be unfair of them to be out too long on a dawn patrol.
He casted a glance at the horizon where the sun was slowly creeping up, making sure the dawn colors only lasted for so long. The morning chill was there but Hiddenflame enjoyed it, the breeze through his long fur felt refreshing. He often was jealous of other cats of their short fur, they probably didn't grow hot too fast, where he was unfortunate to be hot all the time. "You guys coming?" He meowed, as he made his way along the border, refreshing the markers as he came across them. The rabbit dangling in his jaws, the scent lingering in his nose.
Magpieflight Stormchime's reasoning were fair, it seemed even the breezes and birds didn't dare go near the tensions that were wrought within the camps confines. The idea of returning sent his stomach churning, and he grimaced at the idea. Staying out for the rest of time it is, he decided inwardly. Contemplating for a heartbeat a life of a rogue, even if only half joking. The tom stretched out, a yawn parting his jaws as he listened to Hiddenflame's additions, cringing inwardly. Hoping her more nonchalant feelings towards camp wouldn't send them back to its confines before absolutely necessary. What kind of cowardly warrior are you? He scolded himself with a sigh, at the very least Dawnleafis back there, he considered. One of few benefits he could see on the horizon of recent, but even that didn't quite spark the joy within him that it once might have.

The trio could have remained outside of camp for the rest of time and only then decided to make their way back to camp, but Magpieflight would still have been of the belief their return was being made too quickly. He considered asking to remain out here for a little while longer, even if by himself; but he struggled to gather any idea that might offer a reasonable excuse as to why he should remain here. So instead, the warrior simply nodded his head - some degree of dejection apparent in how he carried himself, an odd contrast offered to the playful and bouncing melody of his tone. "I'm happy to get going when you guys are," Magpieflight responded with a twitch of his long tail.

- - - - - - Casting a swift glance outside of Ashclan's territory, Stormchime felt somewhat curious to what was truly out there beyond the familiar pathways of their territory. Her tail twitched idly, feeling the breeze brush through her fur as her attention drew back towards Magpieflight. "Wonderful," Stormchime purred with a bright light in her paws. It was easy for her to be back in an upbeat attitude. Being out in the territory helped wiped away most of her worries and negative thoughts.
Brushing past the toms, Stormchime found the familiar narrow path that would lead the patrol out of the ridge back into the safety of the forest. She flickered her tail, her gaze fluttering around to make sure nothing was in the surrounding areas. It was always a good idea to be on the lookout for something, Stormchime hated being surprised and if a fox sneaked up on them, she wouldn't be pleased.

Lifting his catch by the scruff of its neck, he straightened with a flick of his tail and turned to his clanmates, waiting for them to lead the way and once they did, he quickly followed suit. The burden of carrying his large catch slowing his pace, that coupled with the fact he wasn't overly enthusiastic about the prospect of returning to camp. Dawnleaf, Dawnleaf, Dawnleaf, he allowed the thought of his mate repeat itself over and over again in his head, hoping it would make him a little more hopeful about the prospects of returning home. In truth, she was the only thing at current making him wish to return, otherwise he might have turned rogue - at least for a little while. Trudging in the wake of his patrol, his ears twitched forward every so often, keeping alert for the world around him on the off chance something might be so stupid as to attempt to follow them into camp. The most populated and well protected part of the camp. But the trio made their return to camp with little trouble, and within the area a new sound and smell met them. The telltale signs of new kits within - a familiar sound following the recent birth of Lightbloom's four, but the scent was fresher - newer. It seemed that Nightecho had given birth, that at the very least brought a smile to his expression.
