Hmm. Does berrynose get an apprentice? He's never had one, so if he's made deputy, that's breaking the code. Check mate, fake Bramblestar. Get rekt.

I'm surprised Needlepaw doesn't have the gift.

I.... It actually happened. Oh my god, it actually happened. I'm both so excited and so worried at the same time because I know what this means. I'm not surprised that Berrynose spoke to Bramblestar about any supposed misdemeanors. I'm not surprised considering the fact that Bramblestar was his mentor. Bramblestar is his leader and I'm so unbelievably delighted that he was probably made deputy for this exact reason. What other non-familial cat would trust and support Bramblestar more than his only apprentice? Even if they kill Berrynose, which sadly I'm now very sure they will, I'm really excited that he's been put in this position, even if he does a bad job. I know he's loyal, and that he certainly would follow his mentor's words and the code closely, and he will probably be blinded by the faith "Bramblestar" has put in him to make him deputy without an apprentice.
What I'm saying is, Berrynose being a hotheaded pain to the main protagonists is in character, and that this is a really good way to highlight that too. I want to see if he'll follow "Bramblestar" consistently or if he'll realize everything's wrong and step up, maybe with his life ending defying his leader. That would be really entertaining.
All in all, I never ever thought Berrynose would ever be deputy, and I'm so looking forward to see where they can take this. Plot twist: They defeat Bramblestar somehow and Berrynose lives. Due to bad timing (maybe this happens before Squirrelflight can get reinstated properly after her banishment, or perhaps she dies before then?), that means that by law, Berrynose is the leader now, so he goes on to get his nine lives and becomes ThC's leader. Erins...pls...I'm begging you to let this happen! On a sidenote, I understand why they had Squirrelflight go to ShC ('cause Shadowpaw's a POV, and can provide insight into what's going on while she's there), but I'm disappointed she didn't go to RiC instead 😔 It would've given them some relevancy to the plot if she decided it'd be safer there, since she'd be better out of sight of ThC than just going next door to ShC to hide out.

I have the book now, so... Shadowsight's traits at his ceremony were for his insight, courage and kindness. His new name reminded him of Spiresight and believes that his father told Puddleshine of him for him to know that name. Shadowsight also knew how Spiresight once stated that he'd see into the shadows. Considering Shadowsight was just born, I don't know how he remembers this. Also, he ended up getting the name I wanted him to have, so I'm quite happy.

Lol! Needlepaw knows of Rootpaw's crush on Bristlefrost. She's pretty much like: "Don't let Leafstar see. She doesn't approve of cats having mates in other Clans." Which Rootpaw responded by saying that she's not his mate.

Huh. Needlepaw called Myrtlepaw and Baypaw new apprentices. How exactly are Flamepaw and Finchpaw apprentices already? Also, Needlepaw stated that TC names are strange. Rootpaw responded with saying that it was no stranger than her name, when Needlepaw asked Rootpaw if her name was really that strange, he told her of course not and that he was just teasing.

Does ghost Bramblestar say or do anything? Does he give any hint as to what is actually going on?

there's a very interesting thing about bramblestar's voice right before squirrelflight's exile: I couldn't help myself. I said no spoilers, but I had to read this page... and it physically hurts to see Squirrelflight go through this after everything she has been through in the past.

If Squirrelflight isn't the one to take out Brashfur I'm suing
(and then he gets back to StarClan thinking he can do the "oh but I'm sorry~" schtick again and instead just meets Hollyleaf and Leafpool, sharpening their claws)

Yeahhh the possessor definitely feels like it's Ashfur. The attitude towards Squirrelflight and her kin, his comments towards her, Shadowsight's vision in Lost Stars...it really seems to be making it out to be him. I feel like he's working with other cats, though, since I feel that he would need help to pull this off completely considering his behavior in StarClan during SqH.
And idc what anyone says I'm just happy that I managed to call Berrynose becoming deputy/getting a position of power regardless of the circumstances. Honestly I'm amused considering how many people would not expect him to become one, haha (hope they make him more interesting through this, and I really hope Berrystar is endgame by the end if they take him down the path of 'realizing what fake Bramblestar truly is')

I hope Squirrelflight murders him again because he deserves it. Not to mention that I believe it's heavily implied that whoever the possessor is was trying to kill Sparkpelt with the dogs, and there's only one cat I can think of who'd go that far as to kill one of Squirrelflight's kits.

It sounds like he physically struck her too, while verbally berating her... This is just gross... I'm still convinced that's Ashfur at this point, I wonder if he's still angry that Squirrelflight will still be drawn to Bramblestar or just not want to be around him, even though he's in Bramble's body, lol.
