Evanora glared at her mother as she kindly offered her a seat next to her. She took it with a huff and loudly began stirring the tea. She eyed Atlis as her mother pointedly asked her an answer to the remaining question on the table of discussion. What a rude way to introduce yourself to a Prince. She thought angrily. She was in no right to open her mouth, but everything about her mother bothered her. " Atlis eyed Evanora, her body language loud and clear. He nodded thankfully to the Queen and quietly took a seat next to his mother. Slightly taken off guard by the pointedness of the Queens question, he carefully swirled the spoon in the tea, watching the cream dissipate. He needed to be careful with how he worded his next choice of words. He didn't want to offend anyone, and he didn't want to be thrown away without the help he desired. "well," He began quietly. "As you already know, my father isn't the most well....mannered..." He began slowly, glancing at Eadrid every so often. "He tried to kill my mother, which i did not know until after we found her alive in the woods some ways away, and the it all began to make sense." He responded grimly. "My father wants to further his kingdom, and seeing my mother has a firm head on her shoulders, it only made sense to get rid of someone in the way of making that happen." He shifted in his seat. "I was the next in line, so I followed my fathers every move. We began to train more warriors, pulling children from their homes to begin training even though the were too young. He began to kill the older people in the kingdom to prepare for war, he didn't want any liabilities. He trained more than enough assassins to go out and scope other kingdoms to see if we could sweep their lands and claim it as their own. Killing innocent children and women, mothers and daughters, families were being torn apart, one by one, as he decided to expand his kingdom." He paused and looked around. Eadrid held a look of deep saddness on her shoulders. "It was then my turn to kill a mother and her unborn baby to prove to my father that I was ready to follow him if he should die. My brothers were ready to do it, but i had a day before I was to do the deed, so i took the chance to escape and search for help, or a new place to call home, away from the darkness and terror my father was creating. I can only Imagine what his plans are now since I've been gone." He shrugged and searched the face of the queen for a response to the information he had just dumped into her lap.

The queen perused her lips as the young prince finished his harrowing tale. It was something concerning indeed. After a moment, Lorian spoke up. "I'm sorry you had to go through that, child. Your father is both selfish and foolish if he believed he could change your very nature like that. It sounds like things have gone downhill since Eadrid's apparent death. Do you know what your brothers think of all this? Also, how many do you have? I have more information I need to collect. There was that assassian friend of yours- Olwen I think her name is -who might know more about the situation." Lorian once again waved for one of the staff to come. She gave the man orders to find the assassin before turning back to the small group.
"This is all very concerning. We border Virelith and are a rather powerful kingdom. There's no doubt in my mind that they will try and conquer us if given the chance. Perhaps we can ask for aid from the elves. They might be willing to help us, though I wonder if they'll see themselves "above" petty human squables." Lorian began to ramble a little trying to figure out what her kingdom could do. She stopped when she realized what she was doing.
"Anyway, we need to come up with a plan or solution for dealing with Virelith. All out war would be devastating, but it seems like they may need to be stopped," Lorian noted.

The assassian wandered through the castle. She was still deciding whether or not she would be leaving. It wasn't a light choice to make. There was a high chance for death, even if she somehow managed to convince the king to spare her. Some type of punishment, likely a beating, would be served no matter what happened. Olwen shuttered at the thought of that. For the time being, she pushed it away from her head. Besides, something else caught her attention.
"Olwen. At least I believe that's your name, assassian. You're needed by her majesty, Queen Lorian." The recognizable, musclar figure of Val caught the young woman's attention at the end of the hall. For a moment, she considered running. However, that would simply cause a lot more problems than solve. So with a quiet sigh, Olwen followed the head guard through the long halls of the palace.

Evanora glared at her mother for her bluntness. She knew that a threat was imminent, but saying it so boldly in front of Atlis and his mom just threw her off, but then again, so did everything about her mother.
Atlis nodded. "If he was going to attack, her would probably do it soon..." He offered, lost in thought. He wasn't too sure where olwen would be at this time, she had decided to leave nearly an hour ago, or so he thought. She had been brought in by Val. She wore an expression of cernern, yet carried herself with confidence. He stood when she got near the table. "Olwen." He said respectfully.

Lorian caught the tail end of Evanora's glare. She didn't react, just simply ignored it. She would have to talk to her about it later. For the time being, Val had arrived with the assassian. At Atlis' correction, the queen gave a curt nod before turning her full attention to the girl before her. She looked unusual. Skin a little too pale, blue eyes a bit too piercing, and snow-white hair that faded into a stark black. It was clear she wasn't entierly human at least. Making a note of it, the queen finally spoke.
"Thank you, Val. You can go." The strong-looking guard dipped her head and turned away to head back into the castle. She gestered for the young woman to take a seat. Olwen studied the queen briefly. She knew the princess wasn't overly fond of her, and she couldn't help but wonder why. "Olwen, we have some very pressing matters we would like to talk to you about. We're concerned about the Virelith king and whatever he may be planning. Due to current circumstances, we don't believe any of it's good," Lorian explained.
Olwen nodded. She didn't know much, but she knew enough to be useful. "Brining back Atlis was my first solo mission. However, I know that there have been more onw or two manned missions recently. I believe assassians were being sent out to scout neighboring kingdoms and taking out highly important officals. I don't know this to be certain, but perhaps I could help figure out some of the details."
The queen nodded. Olwen could be rather useful in deed. After a moment, she turned to her husband. "I don't want to get too far into planning or anything, Sybil. What do you think?"
(No worries. It's enough for me to work with.)

King Sybil had remained fairly silent since his Queen had helped herself to the situation, and seeing that she was more level headed than him, he deemed it a good idea that she take control of this meeting. He frowned at Evanora with her loud attitude during this matter. He had hoped that she would be able to put that aside for the sake of the prince, but once again, he was left disappointed. As olwen entered the garden, he took not on how Atlis greeted her, much like an old friend. He didn't know their history together, they seemed to keep it between themselves and Eadrid. He wasn't a huge fan of the assassin, and the thought of her being remotely useful never crossed his mind. He wanted her out of the kingdom, that's all he knew. "Olwen, if you were to prince this prince home to his father, what do you think his fate would have been?" His question was more rhetorical, and filled with slight distaste. "If the king has sent out other assassins to scope out higher officials, what do you think his plan would be after they reported back to him?" Once again, another smart alec response. He turned his gaze to his queen and Evanora. "How do we know that the mission she was sent on was to retrieve Atlis while scoping out territoires on her own?" He didn't trust the assassin, and this would be the first time he actually voiced it. He was King after all, it was not his duty to protect the feelings of others, but to rule justly and search all premises of the matter at hand.
Atlis scoffed at the king. Why was he being so rude to Olwen now? What suddenly changed? "Olwen would never do any of that to us." He demanded, hitting the table with his hand, causing the cups of tea to jump a little. "She didn't leave when you gave her the chance, now did she?" His words were laced with bitterness, his eyes were glowing bright green as he spoke of his friend.
Eadrid placed her hand on his thigh, whispering under her breath words that Atlis didn't understand. He shivered and recollected himself. She had used her calming abilities to help keep this in hand. "Atlis is right, I've known Olwen her whole life. I practically raised her." She said soothingly to the whole group. "Our enemy is not here at this table, lets keep that in mind." She looked at Evanora, and then at Atlis. "The King will do anything for power, and if he doesn't get his son, more assassins will infiltrate this land and possibly make a bigger mess than what we desire." She held eye contact with the Queen. She didn't like high stress situations, and causing a feud with these two powerful royals would be detrimental.

(Yeah...So I got distracted playing Animal Crossing with my siblings as well as Smash Bros. But here it is now at least~)
Olwen opened her mouth to reply to the king, but didn't get the chance as he asked another question. He continued to speak, bombarding her with questions and simply not giving her a chance to answer. Olwen opened her mouth again, only to be distracted by Atlis scoffing. She blinked in surprise as he snapped and pounded his fist aganist the table. A warmth rose in her chest seeing him defend her so fiercely. Her gaze flickered towards Eadrid as she contiuned. After a moment, the former queen explained more about the Virelith king. She confirmed whatever suspicions they might've had about her. That was good.
What wasn't good was whatever history the queens and the king had with each other. The assassian watched Lorian lock eyes with Eadrid. She fought the urge to reach for her weapons or jump to Eadrid's defense. After a moment, the Zettan queen spoke up. "So this assassian, presumably, is our ally. While neither of you," she gestered to Atlis and Eadrid, "from what I can gather have been close to her, she might have some insight on how things have been working in the kingdom. For the moment, she is our ally and she should be treated as such." Lorian glanced at her husband and daughter, clearly directing the comment to them.
As silence settled over the group, Olwen finally spoke up. "To answer bluntly, sir, there is no sure way of knowing. Unfortunately there are many possiblities, ones that we can only speculate about. If he was brought back, perhaps the king would've been forgiving and given Atlis the oppertunity to prove himself. But that man notoriously is unpredictable and cruel. It's just as likely he would've...gotten ride of Atlis." Of course Olwen was never going to bring him back to his father. They would've fled elsewhere had it not been for running into Eadrid, Bazil, and Evanora.
"You have every right not to trust me. For all you know I could be lying and most of this is an elaborate plot to find out secrets about your kingdom. I can only say that I'm not and you just have a word to go off of." Olwen could feel the eyes on her. Lorian watched the assassian through curious eyes. After a moment, she continued. "I don't know much. As I said before, I'm a newer assassian. What I do know is others were sent out to find how to best weaken neighboring kingdoms by finding their secrets or scoping out their weaknesses."

King Sybil eyed Eadrid, knowing that she used her powers to calm the situation. He felt irritation bubble up and die out, the effects of her words lasting longer than he thought. "So what should we do from here? Send you back?" He asked, genuinely curious on how to put the fire out. "If you dont go back, im sure someone will come search for you. Its odd that the king would send the Princes old friend after him...?" He put his last thought out there more for himself, not thinking it would cause a fight. "If Atlis goes back, he will be put to death. If ou go back empty handed, you will be punished." He looked to Eadrid. "What if you went back instead?" He offered.
Eadrid shuttered. "I hate that thought. Im not sure how my husband would react, or the people of the kingdom." She thought outloud.

(Not sure if you celebrate it, I hope you had a good Easter!)
"I already know what I'm going to do," Olwen stated flatly. "The reason I was sent, I think, is because Atlis would probably trust me because we were close as children. He doesn't know the other assassians or likely would've trusted them as much if at all. I was the best choice." She paused as King Sybil addressed Eadrid. The assassian narrowed her eyes at the king and stepped forward slightly
"I'll be the one to go back or at least find a way to cover our tracks. It's safer that way. If Atlis or even Eadrid go, there's no telling what would happen to them." Olwen simply wouldn't allow either of them to leave. They would be in far more danger if they went back to Virelith instead of her. Besides, it seemed like the former queen was too sacred to go. Olwen could hardly blame her as her husband tried to kill her.
"If Olwen is volunteering to go back, it's not our place to stop her," Lorian began. "We have a kingdom to watch out for, people to care about. Besides, something tells me she would find a way to leave anyway not matter what we do."

Atlis nodded his head as olwen addressed the King and Queen on what she should do in this situation. She was trained to think logically and without emotions, so seeing that she was the one who decided that Eadrid stay put and risk her own life only made sense. Eadrid took the hand of the young assassin. She looked gratefully into the young girls eyes and offered a light, reassuring smile. "If you feel that is what you must do, we will continue to hold the fort here on your behalf." She knew that if she could get the chance to step out of the garden and into the woods, she could gather some of her magical beings and ask them to go - at a distance- with Olwen to ensure her safety. Of course she wouldnt tell anyone that she was doing that, she wasnt sure of the laws of magic within the boundaries of this land, and overstepping could be detrimental to her safety, and the safety of her son. Evanora crossed her arms and sighed. She hated being useless in any situation. The King nodded. "Then if you are to go , then you should go. I would like a report back in 48 hours if you are still alive on the state of the situation. If you gain any new knowledge we would love to know, seeing you are our greatest allie at the moment." His last words seemed to come out with a tinge of bitterness. He wasnt too thrilled to be working with an enemy assassin, but with the situation at hand, it was the best he could do.

The former Virelith queen took the assassin's hand. Olwen glanced down then towards Eadrid, catching her small smile. The ivory-skinned woman didn't move for a moment. Before she could say anything, the king spoke up. She looked towards him, never moving her hand away and listened to his words. There was a slight bitterness to his tone, but Olwen didn't dwell on it. The assassian nodded.
"I will come back if I need to and I shall share anything I find."
"Good luck," Lorina wished. Olwen still didn't say a word, instead giving a respectful nod to the queen. She turned towards Eadrid. She had said her goodbyes to Atlis, but not yet his mother. Olwen leaned forward.
"Thank you Eadrid, for everything. Please, stay safe," she whispered. Olwen began to move back, turning towards the castle as she made her way to her next mission.
(Where should we go from here? I know we talked about Olwen coming across some assassians/finding traces of them heading to the castle, but that's about it. Maybe there's a shared dinner between everyone and after they head to bed, the other assassians come?)

(Quarantine is boring and I wish things would just go back to normal I've been busy helping my boyfriend move into his new place the last few days, and im glad that hes finally settled and at home now. He lived here with me for about a month and a half.)
Tears welled up in the older Queens eyes as she watched the young assassin girl leave to carry on her mission. Things from here on out were going to be different, but how different, she couldnt say just yet. She silently prayed for protection and direction for the girl.
Atlis waved her on ass she declared what her mission was to be. He was in no place to demand that she stay, for he knew how dangerous that would be for her. His heart tore a little as he watched her turn to go, then remembered that she had his dogtags. "Be careful." He said as he motioned to his neck to signal her about the tags. The last thing he needed was for her to get back to their Kingdom and be found out that she was with Atlis by the small token of friendship he had given her before she left.
Evanora nodded her head to the girl. she wasnt too fond of her, but the thought of her going on this mission with no protection made her uneasy. If only Basil was here to sneak out wih her and follow, just as they had done with Atlis, she may feel a little more consoled.
(If you want to have her go out and run into her fellow assassins, we could do that. )

Lorina watched the assassian leave. Olwen quickly disappeared from view and would be on her way to finish what she started. She was on her own for the time being. After she was gone, the Zettan queen turned back to the group. They still had matters to discuss about Virelith.
"Olwen seemed sure there would be other assassians to follow her. If not now, likely soon. We should increase patrols at the border and see if we can catch any rumors about what may be going on in the kingdom." Although it might not help much, it seemed to be the smartest thing to do at that time. The queen didn't know what they could expect from their neighbors, especially if they were on the path of conquest. Although she didn't voice her concerns, she knew they may have to start preparing for war. Lorina glanced at her husband. Although she was queen, she only married into the crown. Whatever decisions Sybil made would be the final ones.
(I'm sorry to hear that. Hopefully by June, it'll be over. On the bright side, at least your boyfriend is getting settled in.
Okay. Should we go ahead and do a small timeskip for that then?)
