"Of course," said Myrnin, clearly finding a death trap (possible or certain) not the least bit intimidating. He followed after to Touka, entering the elevator and then standing a bit awkwardly there next to her without really knowning what to do. The elevator started moving without any real prompting. Perhaps it was the combined weight of the two of them, or perhaps the House was just tired of letting each of the blinkers use their own legs. Instead, the metal cage slowly grinded its way down. It wasn't even that interesting of a ride. On the other side of the metal cage, all that could be seen was the passing of the brickwork. "Uhhhh -" Myrnin started to say, about to ask Touka what she thought and, like a child on a long care ride, perhaps 'are we there yet?' But then slowly a room below came into view and Myrnin curiously got into a crouching position to try and see it sooner. "Interesting rooms they have here ..." he said. The room that they came out into was, for lack of a better word, a cave. "Think this is an X-marks-the-spot location?" he asked the Ghoul. It looked like a cave, only in this case he'd noticed that there appeared to be a volleyball net set up inside of it. He wasn't sure if that ruined the cave atmosphere or whether it was just weird. It was something he'd do though. He rather approved. The elevator landed and the metal gates opened automatically. "Last stop for cave volleyball," Myrnin said, looking at Touka to see if she'd get out.

Touka snorted at Myrnin's volleyball comment, and stepped out of the elevator, turning to look around at the cave as she did. "Well, who could resist a good old fashioned game of cave volleyball?" she said, shaking her head. "And why is there a cave underneath the house, anyway? This whole thing is just..." She paused, trying to put it into words. "Odd. Feels like the House had a really specific blueprint for this place, compared to how generic the rooms usually feel, you know? Like, usually we have 'a skating rink' or 'a log cabin' but this feels more like it was pulled from something that actually exists."
She didn't know why this was bothering her so much. It was just a weird room, and she didn't understand the logic of it, so she wasn't sure how they were supposed to go about getting out.
"Might be an X marks the spot thing," she said, stepping over to examine the net. "Or maybe the House just wants us to play volleyball."

"Or maybe go deeper in?" suggested Myrnin, nodding in the direction of the shadows beyond the net. He didn't even bother squeezing around it either. Instead he folded up the map and leaped over the net in one leap, landing on the other side in a skid, the sand on the cave floor causing him to lose a bit of his vampire grace. When he regained his posture again he gave Touka a thumbs up gesture, like this was all part of his plan. Then he trotted over in the direction of the deeper shadows, his eyes adjusting as he went. "How good is your night vision?" he tossed over his shoulder. "Do you see well in the dark, Ghoul Girl?" He could see something too. He'd almost missed it because it looked like part of the cave wall. He stepped over, one hand brushing over the stone to check he was right. He was. There was an outline of a stone door here. "Ooooo! What do I win if I find something?" he called over to Touka. "Do I get a prize, do you think?" He tried to find a door handle, failed, and instead opted to push at what looked like a solid stone wall. No luck there. "Can you get it open?" he asked.

Touka watched Myrnin clear the net, an amused smile flickering across her face as she watched the vampire's antics.
"Hey, you remember when we first met, you tried to race me across a cliff as it collapsed?" she said abruptly, landing on the memory his playfulness reminded her of. "I was so mad at you - thought you were such a f(oops)ing idiot." She shook her head. "Man, that was a long time ago."
She followed him into the dark, her eyes shifting from blue to red and black automatically as the light dimmed past what a human could deal with. "Yeah, mine's good," she answered, watching him maneuver easily around the darkened environment. "I guess vampires do, too," she observed, and then turned and stopped abruptly, realizing they'd reached a dead end. No...not a dead end, she corrected herself - there was an outline of a door. Just...no handle. Or keyhole. Figures.
At Myrnin's comment on the situation, she snorted. "Pfft. This is the House we're talking about. If you get any 'prize' for this, I'm betting it'll be something that'll make this entire situation a hundred times worse."
She stepped forward and examined the door, running her hands over it, then giving it a light, experimental push. Nothing happened, so she pushed harder.
Still nothing.
Narrowing her eyes, she stepped back, unfurling her kagune in a brilliant flash of light. "Stand back, she instructed, and then charged at the wall, ramming her kagune into it at top speed,
"AGH - " she shrieked, as she stumbled backwards, stunned by the force of the blow. Her kagune went out like a candle. and she massaged her shoulders, trying to rid them of the stinging sensation. The door, however, was completely undamaged - not even a scorch mark for her effort.

"Ooooo!" said Myrnin, turning away from the rock door. "Hey, I remember that! I'd still do that! I think it would be fun!" He just needed another cliff to run across. He thought about it for a second and held up three fingers. "It's been three years for me."
Longer for Touka, of course.
He took a step back from the door to let Touka try and deal with it, but nothing actually seemed to happen.
Actually, he stood corrected. Something did happen.
A little panel in the rock that Myrnin hadn't noticed before slid away to reveal a little LED readout. Myrnin squinted at it. He was used to the dark, not like numbers flashing at him.
Oh wait.
They were numbers!
Counting down from five minutes.
He shifted from foot to foot.
"Uh oh," he said. "What happens in five minutes?"
He glanced around, eyes bright and reflective.
"Or rather, what do you think we have to do so we don't need to find out?"
He didn't have many ideas. Maybe searching the rock? He assumed they must be looking for a key of some kind.

“Ah, sh(oops),” said Touka, squinting at the timer as it appeared, and promptly started counting down. Then, to Myrnin, “Yeah, no, knowing the House, I’m guessing whatever’s gonna happen when it finishes counting down isn’t something we’re gonna want to still be here for.” She shook her head and turned around, heaving a small sigh. “Okay. Well, I’m gonna go with your ‘get a key’ theory, since I don’t have any better ideas.”
Then, her eyes landed on the volleyball net, and she stepped towards it, glancing back at Myrnin. “Maybe we’re…..supposed to play volleyball? Winner gets the key, loser gets whatever happens when the timer gets done? Seems like the kinda f(oops)ed up sh(oops) the House would pull, doesn’t it?”

"It seems like the sort of thing that the House would do," said Myrnin dryly. He looked at the net with a bit of dower gloom. The timer was ticking down behind them, so he assumed that they'd have to move. And quickly. He shuffled back to the net, the side opposite the ball and Touka. He hoped the ball was sturdy. There were two people with super strength on either side of the net. It could very easily break open. "Whenever you're ready, Ghoul Girl," he said with a slight bow. He wasn't sure if he was ready, but he was willing to give it a go. He'd never played volleyball before. Behind Touka, he could see the timer counting down. He shifted from foot to foot. This was a bit more nerve-wracking than what they had been doing before. Exploring the house they were in hadn't had a timer built into it. Clearly, the House had gotten tired of them fumbling awkwardly around.

OH good call thanks)
“Alright, get ready,” said Touka, widening her stance a little and holding her hands out in front of her in what she thought she remembered was the correct position for volleyball. “Let’s get this over with so we don’t have to find out what happens when that timer goes off.”
With that, she tossed the ball in the air, and then punted it towards Myrnin, careful to keep her strength in check so she didn’t end up giving him a concussion.

It was a fairly faultless worry. It would take a lot to give Myrnin a concussion. Or anything else, really. If anyone was going to have trouble hitting the ball with anything like measured strength, it was going to be him. Even still, when Touka punted the ball to him, he still noticed something. It was hard to tell around the slapping of her hand against the ball, but he'd thought he'd heard a noise ... like ... metal against metal. But the ball was coming toward him, and rather than do anything about it, Myrnin his it back. This time, he managedc to hit it with good aim, but maybe a bit too much force. He was sure he'd heard - and almost felt - the slap of metal against metal. Lips drawing into a thin line of concentration, Myrnin said, "Do you hear something?" The timer was ticking - half their time practically gone.
